yeah, with hindsight it’s easy to pick apart his actions, and stories his friends have told, to look for signs that he was hurting people. plenty of people are gonna think they should’ve known sooner, and others are gonna claim they knew all along that he sucked, but in reality there is no way anyone could’ve known until shelby came out about the abuse she faced. he’s someone many people, including myself, looked up to on some level and you’re always gonna wanna see the best in people you look up to, and that’s okay. you don’t have to feel guilty for that

the thing to do now is to give yourself the time and space you need to move forward from here, and give what support you can to the people that were harmed by him

Derek follows them #but when he hears the crunch of leaves he realizes why the scents are so strong. they’re still here #he ducks behind some trees. listening in on their conversation. but an echo of their scent catches his attention #he spots an inhaler on the ground. he puts two and two together and swipes it from the leaves. #he comes out once they’re closer. tossing over the inhaler- he figures they’ll leave. dumb kids messing around in the woods #he reminds them this is private property. though that may not be true anymore. he recognizes the scent of a new beta. interesting.

wanna make a distinction here: I love dark!percy, it’s my favorite trope, most of the pjo fics I’ve written center around it, I consume any and all I can get

but to me dark percy is always always been about percy rebelling against the gods, not demigods

that’s the key difference between percy and luke. percy would never presume that he could build something better than the gods, wouldn’t want to tear it all down and everyone who ever supported the gods and rule in their place.

for me, dark percy is about percy going after the gods directly, no more middle ground, no more being pushed around on quests that gets his friends killed that the gods don’t even remember. it’s about percy bringing the fight directly to them, and yeah also taking care of anyone that gets in his way. but aftermath? not something he thinks about. he doesn’t want to sit on the throne, he doesn’t want to create a new world, to me, dark percy is born out of revenge and vengeance and no end goal, just wild power that’s done being held back and controlled, just like the ocean

Oh, I had my first actual argument with a JC stan! Because I dared to say that JC definitely kinda hates WWX as an adult.

I got blocked before I could take the screenshots, but I gotta say, I had to laugh when they said "JC is stuck at 17 mentally because of all the trauma" as if that was, like, a good excuse when I explained that how he acts is totally not OK for a 30 something adult.

That and "Everything would've happened the exact same way had Jiang Cheng not done anything anyway, he was completely powerless, he's the victim in the situation" were definitely highlights.

I am howling, it was a very enlightening experience.
