Im new to the fandom and just learning about all the drama etc, so i was wondering what exactly happened with kate? were any of the (particularly non homestuck discourse, like actual serious things) accusations hurled at her true or was it all just horrible harassment? Its really hard to determine whats true because so much of it has been deleted or is coming from people who loathe her for clearly transphobic reasons. btw u dont have to answer if this is a heavy topic, in that case im sorry for bringing it up

Kate had strong opinions about Vriska and Tavros. People didn't like those opinions. She didn't back down or apologize, and in fact doubled down on those opinions. People didn't like that she didn't apologize, because they thought she had to defer to the fans screaming at her, which only made her double down more, and it led to a very toxic mutual relationship, fueled by the fact that she's trans and so this hatred and toxicity became a shield for Transphobes to bash her, which, obviously, only made everything worse for everyone.

She also sold nudes. Which is fine. She's an adult. But because she was being hated on, people started to accuse her of child grooming, because... She's... A big figure in a Fandom that has a lot of teens, and so promoting 18+ she's posting in a private paid platform is equivalent to grooming, apparently. Note, again, the Transphobia: Calling trans women child groomers and worse is a classic tactic.

Ultimately, because people hated post-canon content, and vfromhomestuck was old news, Kate became the 'Scapegoat' that was hip to hate. Every Bad Thing in Post-canon? It was Kate. Kate wrote Vriska, and projected being trans and autistic and dyspraxia on her? Wow, can't believe she made the most PROBLEMATIC CHARACTER TRANS, this is Bad rep! The whole new WP Team? She's HOLDING HUSSIE HOSTAGE and INTIMIDATING THEM and TWISTING THINGS TO GO HER WAY.

It was all a smear campaign fueled by transphobia and hatred of Post-Canon, which led to her being doxxed, close friends and relatives harassed, and having the fucking police called on her while she was actively going out in protests. People were signing petitions to get her fired from the WP Team in the middle of the Pandemic. And they celebrated and cheered, publicly, all over the Tag and on Discord Servers when they 'made it happen'.

I literally don't care how bad you think Kate's takes were or if you think she did something worse. This was a coordinated hate campaign with the intent on literally getting a trans woman killed. It was the most fucking disgusting thing I've seen in the Fandom.

I only remember two specific incidents, but yes.

That would be because many of them were indoctrinated into this cult when they were children, and the indoctrination process functionally taught them to genuinely believe that cartoons are genuinely interchangeable with film of a child being raped.

I tend to focus on one direction of this cult belief. The treatment of comic books as if they are evidence of a serious violent crime. Some will report comic book artists to child protective agencies, wasting their limited time and budgets. Others will seek to enact violent mob justice on those who draw such comic books (the content of which varies and need not be sexual in nature to invite this harassment).

But the inverse issue also arises: treating violence against children, and the survivors of that violence, as subhuman.

I have heard of (and seen evidence of) several cases where antishippers either located the film of a victim of their harassment being raped as a child and sent it to their victim as a threat, or else claimed that they had such films but did not send them.

There are fewer, but as I mentioned at least two incidents where antishipper cult members uploaded film or photos of children being raped into common public platforms like twitter and google docs, so that they could "signal boost" these graphic pieces of CSAM to each other.

This is just one of many ways that antishippers reveal their concern for the safety of children and prevention of sexual violence is nonsense. They do not want to protect kids.

They want an excuse to violently attack people they don't like.

im sure its been said already but as the election draws near more and more liberals will come out of the woodwork to shame people with a conscience to give away their vote to the democrats for free. i'm already seeing posts saying "why aren't people more concerned about a trump presidency?" you want to know why? it's because people already know he's bad. everyone already knows what he is and what he's done and what he'll do. there's nothing to discuss. he's a racist despotic worm of a man. there's nothing else to say.

biden is currently president. the genocide is happening under his watch. he's the one funding isra*l and arming them; he's sidestepped congress more than once to give them weapons. by oct. 27, the biden administration already knew that "Israel was regularly bombing buildings without solid intelligence that they were legitimate military targets." the state department/biden have engaged in atrocity propaganda, cast doubt on the legitimacy of the death toll recorded by the gaza health ministry, and so on. the united states is currently in the process of trying to pin the "war in gaza" on netanyahu (see sen. schumer's speech) after months of backing blatant genocide as a means to act as if they're "doing something" about the genocide (Instead of, say, threatening to cut off all aid to israel with the condition that all hostilities in gaza, the west bank, and occupied jerusalem are halted immediately and permanently, allowing palestinians freedom to travel, allowing aid into gaza, etc etc etc.)

the long and short of it is that liberals view their own lives as being worth more than palestinians'. that's it. they'll vote for another 4 years of the guy ushering in genocide and supporting apartheid + settler colonialism because he isn't outright attacking them (despite various laws and rulings happening both at the supreme court level and at the local level all over the country that will endanger people). they'll settle for the illusion of safety and security and shame anyone with a conscience and accuse them of "supporting the republicans" when in an actual democracy you would be able to use your vote as leverage to extract concessions from those who want to be elected. that's how it's supposed to fucking work.

democrats are not owed people's vote. if biden loses, it will be biden's fault; it will be his campaign's fault; it will be the democrats' fault. trump is bad; the republicans are bad. we already know this. this is not an endorsement of either. but if democrats are too cowardly and feckless and servile to the motivations of the american empire and never do anything for their constituents then why the fuck should anyone vote for them. you want to get mad at someone, why don't you do something useful and stop worrying about team-sports with a purely selfish basis and start hounding the people in power who are supposed to serve you, the voter.
