Wishing the happiest of birthdays today to one of my greatest heroes, Kurt. He would have been 56 years old today. It’s difficult for me to wrap my mind around & I still wonder every single day where he would be now if he were still here. He has been one of my biggest influences since I was about eleven years old. Although I feel some guilt about purchasing the book now due to the fact that releasing his private writings publicly wasn’t his own choice (hey, I was only thirteen when I bought it & at that age him not being around to be able to speak up about that release wasn’t on my mind - however despite my age, that lack of thought still bothers me to this day ) - but I do have to say that my teen self found so much comfort in his journals, in his writing, & his work. & I still find comfort in it all today. His mind will always be a mind I strongly identify with. I’m grateful every single day that he once lived in this world & had the opportunity to share some of his gifts within those short years. I hope wherever he is, he’s able to see the mark he left in my own life & in countless others. Happy birthday, Kurt. Thank you for helping my alien self feel a lil less alone in this strange world. I love & appreciate you forever 🤍
