“Any cases?” Jay asked as he sat down at his desk.
Erin shook her head. It had been a slow day for the intelligence unit. “No its been a slow day.”
“Hmmm.” Voight hummed also listening to Erin’s answer. Even Voight was getting bored.
But when Trudy came up the stairs with concern on her face, that got everyone's attention. “Voight. Y/n’s principle is on the phone.”
“Thank you, Trudy.” Voight nodded and headed into his office and picked up the phone. “Hello.”
“Hello, Mr.Voight. I’m sorry for calling you at work.” Y/n’s principal apologized over the phone.
“It's not a problem. What's going on? Is Y/n alright?” Voight spoke with a tight voice. It was rare when the school called him so he was really worried but trying not to show it.
There was a pause on the phone before the person on the other side cleared their throat. “That's why I called there was an altercation and Y/n got very hurt so we’ve sent her to Chicago Med. We wanted to let you know and we also we’re hoping you could send down someone to talk to the kids responsible.”
“Yeah, I can do that.” Voight stated after a moment of silence. After that, the phone call ended and Voight shook his head trying to control his anger before exiting his office. “Ruzek and Linsdey head down to Y/n’s school and bring in the kids they’ll have there waiting for you back here to talk. Burgess call their parents and let them know that I’ll be pressing charges.”
“Voight, what happened?” Erin asked as her and the others started on their orders. All of them were now concerned about the teen girl they had all come to love and be very protective of.
“Some kids hurt Y/n bad enough that the school has sent her to Chicago Med.” Voight explained gruffly, trying to keep his worries and anger in check.
“What?!” Adam raised his brows in shock and he felt anger bubbling up on the inside. Much like everyone else in the room.
“Seriously? They just what? Let that happen?!” Jay was furious, he hadn’t known her the longest but even with his problems with Voight. Jay and Y/n had become close. They’d hang out, and go do things together. It bonded them. They’re friends. Y/n is like a little sister that Jay never had.
“Apparently. Look I’m going to Med to be with my daughter.” It unnerved the unit with how calm Voight seemed to be.
“I’ll come with you.” Jay said getting up to follow the older man.
“Let's go.” Voight nodded, he knew how close his daughter was to Jay. He might bring some comfort.
Everyone else headed off to do what they needed to do.
Once they arrived at Med, they went straight to the ED. Upon seeing his brother Jay called out. “Will!”
“How is she?” Voight asked as the redheaded Halstead appeared and stood in front of them.
Will let out a sigh, looking between his brother and Voight. “She doesn’t need surgery, which is the good news.”
As much of a relief that was it still left a question. “An the bad news?”
“About 70% of her body is covered in bruising, and she has a broken wrist, a few cracked ribs, and a laceration above her eye.” Will gave them a sad look. He to like a lot knew Y/n, and Will felt for the girl. She didn’t deserve this.
“Jeez Will.” Jay felt like throwing up. How could the school let it get this far? Or happen at all.
“I know.” Will nodded, he felt just like Jay.
“Where is she? Can I see her?” Voight asked keeping his feelings at bay for the time being. He was feeling to many things at once anyway.
“Yeah, right this way.” Will stated, leading them back to the trauma room Y/n Voight had been assigned to.
As they reached the room and saw y/n sitting up in the bed slightly leaning back. Probably to take pressure off her ribs.
“Hey, how about we go get copies of the injury reports and give them a minute?” Jay suggested with a tilt of his head. Wanting to give the father and daughter some space.
There were some moments of silence as Voight moved to sit down in the chair next to the hospital bed. It got to the point that Voight needed answers to keep his brain occupied. “Kid-”
“I know, dad.” Y/n cut him off nodding. Already knowing what he was going to say.
“What exactly happened?” he asked. He needed to know for many reasons but his main one and his focus now was just why and how this happened to his little girl. “Y/n.”
Y/n let out a sigh, knowing she had to tell him cause it was going to far and out of hand now. “It’s not the first time something happened.”
“You mean-”
Y/n nodded not looking at him. She couldn’t look at him. Not in the eyes. “It's normally not this bad.”
Now Voight was having an even harder time keeping it together. How could he not notice? How come she didn’t come to him? “Why didn’t you tell me? Or anyone?”
“I've tried before. To tell teachers bit either they do nothing or it just makes it worse.” She had thought about telling her dad or even Jay but if the school wouldn’t help how could they?
Voight shook his head reaching out for her hand, trying to get her to look at him. “I could’ve done something.”
“As a dad. Not as a cop. It wasn’t bad enough for cop involvement.” Y/n gave him a tight lipped sad smile.
She had a point and it bugged him cause he knew it was true. But now, this. This meant he could get involved as a cop, and a dad. “Well now it is and you can bet your ass I’m gonna do something about it.”
Y/n cracked a smile at him. “I don’t know who they should be more afraid of. You or Jay.”
“Combined force, sweetheart.”Voight gave her a half smirk half smile. Voight know she was right, he saw and could feel the anger coming off of Jay on the ride over to Med.
“Ohhh, deadly.” Y/n giggled wiggling her eyebrows and laughed. Even though they knew it was true.
Voight squeezed her hand for comfort before speaking. “You know you can talk to me right? About anything?”
He truly hoped she knew that. That she could come to him about anything and everything.
“I didn’t want to worry you.” Y/n shrugged but looked down feeling a little ashamed. That she didn’t tell him and that it happened at all.
“I’m your father. I worry even when your okay.” he told her sternly. He cared about her more than he could ever tell her. Or show her.
“I love you dad.” Y/n smiled at him grateful to have this off her chest, for him to know, and that he was by her side.
“I love you too.” Voight was gonna take care of this. An no one was gonna get in his way.

How Many Detectives Are Needed To Sleep A Baby? || Jay Halstead x reader!
Cute and fluffy Jay, wife and baby + babysitter detectives
*re-posting this because I'm stupid and accidentaly delated my blog 🫠
Tumblr media
Summary: Intelligence unit takes care of Jay's newborn baby while he and his wife are in court. Turns out it is the most difficult case they have worked on.
-"You can't go in there". Platt muttered in a scolding tone to Adam, who wanted to go into the coffee room.
-"Why not?" He asked strangely.
-"Shhhhhh". Kim gave him a punch on his arm. -"Keep it quiet, you're gonna wake her up".
-"Ok, alright". Ruzek kept his voice low. -"What the hell is going on, girls?"
-"Halstead's baby is sleeping in there. Don't you dare to interrupt her sweet dreams, bro". Kevin said from his desk.
-"Look at her. You can see her smile even from here". Hailey said, peeking through the window.
Trudy and Kim followed her.
-"She's so lucky she didn't get her father's mad face". The Sergeant enquired.
-"What do you think she's dreaming about? She looks so peaceful".
-"What's going on? Where's Jay? Where's her mom? What is she doing here all alone?" Adam was losing it, increasing his voice volume once more.
-"She's not alone. We're taking care of her!". Hailey frowned.
-"Adam, please". Voigh silently got out of his office and rushed towards him whispering. -"Would you keep it down? I can hear your voice even with my door closed. Let the baby rest, she's only weeks old and already has seen too much".
The detective opened his arms in a defeated gesture. He had just arrived and didn't understand anything.
-"Y/N is testifying right now, we couldn't avoid it. She and her colleagues published the investigation under their names, so...I couldn't stop it. Jay is by her side. The baby is here for protection".
-"She really is a hell of a journalist". Upton mentioned with admiration.
-"And a very brave woman. We owe her a lot in this case". Hank stated.
-"You know? You would have known about this if you had arrived in time to work". Burgess teases Adam.
-"Is there any news about the trial?" Platt wanted to know, worried about you.
-"Not yet, but Jay said he'll be in touch". The boss stated. -"You know these trials take time".
They weren't conscious about it, but the whole Intelligence squad looked hilarious talking with whispers and walking in tiptoes as they went back to their workplaces.
Time passed and the girl was still sleeping safe and sound, until Adam decided to stand up to stretch a bit and stumbled with some cables on the floor. Naturally, the clatter woke up the little baby.
-"It had to be you, right?" Kim mocked her husband as she helped him stand up.
Hailey and Kevin ran to the coffee room as if they were running a race. It was him who got there first and held the baby girl.
-"There, there. Uncle Kev is right here". He tried to reassure her. -"I had siblings and took care of them when they were babies. I can manage another one".
But after a few minutes, she was still uncontrollable.
-"Ok, it's my turn". Burgess got into the game and took the baby off his partner's arms. -"I'm the only mom here, the only one who has a real daughter. I know how to do it".
-"What are you talking about?" Trudy Platt laughed. -"Makayla was already a grown up when you adopted her!" And she grabbed the baby to accommodate her in her chest. But the crying did not stop.
-"Oh, no. What are they doing to you, sweetie?" Upton grabbed her and laid her in her arms. -"I am her godmother, she knows me better".
The baby Halstead slowed down her crying, but she was still restless.
-"Well, how many detectives do you need to sleep a baby, hum? You don't know anything". Hank Voight gasped. -"Give her to me, I'll show you all". But as soon as she was in the arms of the boss, her crying increased. -"Oh. I've lost touch!"
Jay and Y/N were already at the bullpen, waiting in the stairs. They got in time to witness the fluffy scene.
-"Hey, guys? She's not a rag doll, you know?" Jay said laughing at the scene and his friends turned around with surprise. -"She just needs her daddy's arms''. He took his daughter to stroke her and almost immediately she calmed down.
-"That's not fair". Platt crossed her arms.
-"We brought you coffee". You smiled, leaving the box you were carrying on one of the desks. -"There's not enough caffeine when you take care of a newborn. There's one for each of you, just as each of you like it. Look for your name in the tags".
-"Geez, thanks!" Adam said gladly and balanced the table. -"I was denied entrance to the coffee room the whole morning".
-"I'm sorry". You turned red.
-"Don't listen to him". A chorus of detectives said.
-"She's really calm, it was no problem". Kevin asserted and everyone else agreed.
You approached your husband and as soon as you were in your daughter's sight, the baby started to smile and giggle, throwing little kicks into the air.
-"What? Why are you laughing so much, baby?" You raised your hands and freed Jay's arms. -"Come with mommy, sweetie".
Everyone stared at the scene with tenderness, especially Kim, whose eyes started watering.
-"You wanna hold her?"
She just nodded and took the opportunity.
-"How was the trial? Are you alright?" Platt inquiered.
-"Yeah, I mean it was really scary, but I think it went fine". Y/N hands started to shake a little bit, but she was fast enough to hide them in her pockets. Nobody noticed, except for Jay.
-"She did a great job". He hugged you by the waist, trying to secretly ease you.
-"I have no doubt about it, she already showed us how much of a badass she is". Hank smirked.
-"I will just be more comfortable if you stay in here at least until the Jury deliberates, or as soon as I can go home with you. It's just a precaution, I'm not being paranoid or something".
-"Yes, I agree". Voight followed the idea.
-"Sure. Whatever you think is better".
The baby yawned and stretched herself so adorably, that she caught everyone's attention again.
-"I should put her down to sleep".
-"Alright. Take my seat, Y/N. We don't know how much we're staying here". Jay pointed out.
-"C'me on, Kim. Give the baby back to her mommy".
-"If you need help with the baby or you get bored of these people around, I'll be downstairs". The desk Sergeant winked at you and you smiled back at her back.
-"She won't be bored. She has me here". Hailey pulled a face.
-"I'll take provisions just in case the little one takes the coffee room again". Ruzek rushed to the kitchen.
Everyone else rolled their eyes in a funny way.

Evermore pt. 4
greg ‘mouse’ gerwitz x cassie voight OC
A/N: so there's going to be a little time jump to season 3 episode 11 of Chicago Fire where canonically Sylvie and Peter get kidnapped, Im thinking it’s still in about season 1 of PD though. I'm gonna change it a little bit so I hope it doesn't get too confusing...i'm going to try and stay as canon as possible but we'll see. Also don’t hate me for the timeline because I’m lowkey just as confused. (also idk why the spacing is weird, but i gave up trying to fix it.)
warnings: kidnapping, slight ptsd, swearing, violence.

It's now been 3 months since Cassie's father, Hank Voight, has been out of prison.
Things at the firehouse have finally started to calm down, except for the fact that Gabby Dawson has now become a firefighter leaving Cassie on ambulance 61 with either Chout or McAuley until they find a replacement.
Despite Gabby's multiple attempts to assure Cassie it wasn't her fault that Gabby left, Cassie doesn't really believe it. However, Cassie is still proud of Gabby for pursuing her dreams either way. The talk they had a few weeks ago to clear the air and any hard feelings was...rough. To say the least.
Jay also took the job in intelligence under Cassie’s father so that was exciting.
Cassie is still shocked that Gabby didn't want to date Jay, he's a great guy. Not that Cassie would ever go for him, she's still his #1 wingman. Or woman. Wing-woman.
"Alright, everyone settle down. This is Sylvie Brett, she will be the new paramedic under Cassie." Boden announces at the morning briefing. Cassie sent a small wave to the new paramedic from where she was standing at the back of the room.
"Cassie is your PIC, anything you say or do on the job must go through her. Understand?"
"Yes sir." Sylvie said at the front of the room next to Chief Boden.
"Okay. That's all. Go out there, do your jobs and do ‘em good." Boden then said leaving the room before everyone else.
"Hi," Cassie said now walking over to her new partner.
"Hey, it's so nice to meet you, i've heard a lot." Sylvie said shaking the other paramedics hand.
"Thanks, it's nice to meet you too. I'm gonna say we should head over to the ambo to check inventory, is there anything you want to let me know before we start?" Cassie asks making Sylvie give her a questionable look.
"Yeah that sounds good. Would you be able to clarify what you mean by-"
"Ah, sorry. It's a force of habit with the rotators. I've been stuck with Chout for the last week and he's very...excited…like at all times. Then there was McAuley who was literally the embodiment of Debby Downer, I don't know I guess I was just asking if you were going to have some odd, personality thing that I would have to get used to." Cassie said chuckling as they make their way to the apparatus.
"Okay yeah that makes sense. Um I hope I don't have any personality thing, but if I do please feel free to let me know." Sylvie said chuckling nervously.
Smiling at Sylvie's innocence Cassie felt like they were going to be good partners.
"No complaints so far, I like you Brett."
After a few shifts of working together, Cassie and Brett felt like they fell into a pretty nice rhythm. It felt natural how well they communicated and worked together.
At the end of the last shift however, Cassie was visited by a victim's family member. A patient she had treated when she briefly worked with Peter Mills before he eventually left to work at his family's restaurant. The patient had passed before they arrived at the hospital, and the father was more than upset with Mills. Something that Cassie had no control over.
"I need to speak with you," Cassie heard the all too familiar voice of Anthony Lullo called out.
The memory of meeting with Peter and Chief flashed through Cassie's brain where Peter had convinced both of them that Anthony wouldn't be a problem anymore.
"Looking back I'm glad that I didn't file a police report on him. He's in deep grief, and he deserves a pass on this." Peter's voice flashed through Cassie's mind.
Deserved a pass her ass, but she wasn't going to undermine Peter. He trusted his gut, and she trusted him. So, here they were.
"Mr. Lullo, please, I'm sorry for what happened but I really need to get home." Cassie said as she walked past him to her car.
"You're going to regret that." Is all Mr. Lullo responded with before leaving.
"Hey Chief, I just wanted to let you know that Anthony Lullo made another visit to the firehouse after last shift. He said he needed to speak with me and when I continued walking saying I need to get to home he mumbled something under his breath. I don't really know what he said, but just thought you would like to know." Cassie said making a pit stop to Boden's office who gave her a reassuring nod before she left.
"Who's Anthony Lullo?" Sylvie asked when her and Cassie were doing inventory for the ambulance.
"How do you know who that is?" Cassie asked confused.
"He approached me when I was coming into work today, told me to tell you that you need to talk to him. I don't know, I was just confused." Sylvie said defensively not really trying to get on Cassie's bad side already.
Taking a deep breath Cassie looked at Sylvie.
"Anthony Lullo was a patient's father that ended up coding before we made it to the hospital. I haven't seen him in a few weeks but it was starting to become harassment with how much he was coming around the firehouse. He ended up threatening my old partner, Peter Mills. It was this whole situation. I don't know why he's back though." Cassie admitted making Sylvie nod her head in understanding.
A silence fell through the girls as they finished looking through the medications in the ambulance before a call came through the intercom.
"Ambulance 61. Injuries from a fall. 815 South Nebraska."
"That's around the corner," Cassie said as they hopped out from the back.
"Can I drive?" Sylvie asked making Cassie chuckle.
"Sure."
Pulling up to the scene, Cassie and Sylvie immediately jump out looking for the victim. When they finally found him on the side of the street Cassie looked at Sylvie.
"Where'd he fall from?" Cassie asked as she looked at their surroundings, no visible places for a fall.
"You fell, sir?" Sylvie asked as she was putting her gloves on.
"My legs, my legs!" The victim screamed.
"Okay, can you take some deep breaths for me?" Sylvie asked as she began examining him.
Cassie still looking around as to what could've caused this injury, she saw a dump truck down the road. Uncovering blanket from the man's legs she sighed.
"He didn't fall. He was run over." She said agitatedly getting up and calling into her radio.
Once they finished doing what they could, they strapped the now unconscious patient onto the gurney
"He passed out from the blood loss. Let's get him to Chicago Med." Cassie said as they were working on getting him into the ambulance.
Quickly grabbing both the girl’s attention, a car pulled into the alley blocking in the ambulance.
"Who's that?" Sylvie asked with Cassie immediately recognizing the car.
*6 hours later*
"Halstead. Thanks for coming. Nice to have somebody we could trust on this." Matt says greeting the detective.
"Absolutely. Still no word from your paramedics?"
"No."
"Dumb question, anybody try their cells?"
"Yeah. No answer."
Once the pair find their way to the ambulance Jay immediately starts getting suspicious.
"Were they dispatched to this location?" He asks, heart dropping at the realization.
"Yeah."
"This could've been a set up." He said turning around and immediately seeing the hula dancer on the dashboard of the ambulance. The one he got as a gift for Cassie.
"What the hell happened here..." He mutters.
*6 hours earlier.*
"Hey, guys, we got a medical emergency here. We're gonna need you to move the vehicle." Cassie announces at the men who just stepped out of their car.
"Hands in the air. Keep your mouths shut." One of the two say as they both raise their guns at the paramedics.
"Woah." Sylvie mutters earning a glance from Cassie.
"Turn around!" One of them shouts making the other instantly yell at him.
"Keep it down! Now turn around put your hands behind your back." He says more quietly turning Cassie roughly.
"This guy needs to get to the hospital!" Sylvie yells getting another glance from Cassie.
"Brett, Brett. Hey don't hurt her please." Cassie says as they make their way to the car away from the patient.
"What is this?!" Sylvie shrieks.
"This doesn't have to be messy, just do what we say." One of them says as they throw the girls into the car.
"Please, let her go. I'm the one that he wants!" Cassie yells.
"He? Who's he?" One of them says with a smirk slamming the door in their faces.
"Where are you taking us?" Cassie asks as one of the men starts patting her down in the backseat.
"Shut up!" The man says as he gets a little too grope-y.
"Where's your phone, hun?" The driver asks as he reaches over for Sylvie in the front seat.
"Left hand jacket pocket." Shes says quietly as he grabs it and chucks it out the window.
"God, why did I have to be stuck with the grabby one." Cassie says looking at the man with a gun to her head.
As he pushed it farther into her temple she winced at the familiar feeling.
"Look, Jason Lullo sustained fatal injuries long before we arrived at the scene!" Cassie says earning an eye roll from the driver.
"Don't know what you're talking about. Just keep quiet now." He says as he continues driving recklessly.
"You gonna kill us?" Cassie quietly asked as she looked the man in the eye through the rear view mirror.
"You know everything is that it?" He asks with a smirk.
"Brett." Cassie quietly says as she looks out the window.
"Quiet!" The man with her said as he shoved the gun farther into her head.
"Brett, brace yourself." Cassie says before head butting the gun out of the man's hand and kneeing him in the face. Quickly kicking him in the groin after, Cassie moved over in the seat she wasn't buckled into and kicked the driver in the side of the head. Keeping her foot against his throat, this caused the driver to spin the wheel uncontrollably, inevitably crashing into a random scrap yard and making contact with a trailer trapping them inside.
*6 hours later*
Eventually finding the car, Jay and Cruz immediately get out to check it out. The thoughts running through Jay's head have him trembling more than he ever has on any case he’s worked before.
"Hey, this is Detective Halstead of intelligence, I'm gonna need you to run an Illinois passenger tag." Jay says into his phone watching Cruz check the car.
"Halstead...We got nothing. Car's empty. Looks like everyone made it out." Cruz says making his way back to the Detective.
"This happened hours ago. If Lullo's got them, they're dead!" Cruz says spinning out.
"Don't assume anything." Jay says trying to cover up his anxiety so he doesn't freak Cruz out any more.
"The hematoma's recollecting!" Cassie says looking at the driver's wounds.
"I thought you fixed him!" The other man says pointing a gun at the two.
"He needs medical attention." Sylvie says with attitude.
"Isn't that your job!?"
"Hey, we're paramedics, not doctors. You need to get him to an ER now." Cassie shouts back.
"This is your fault anyway, with that smart-ass stunt. Fix him, or i'll put a bullet in your head." The man says pointing the gun at Cassie again.
"This lump on your buddy's neck is due to internal bleeding. As it grows it presses on his trachea and that's what's causing the difficulty in breathing. It's only going to get worse!" Cassie says back to the man.
"So cut it open again!"
"That's only a temporary fix!" Sylvie now says butting herself into the conversation.
"Look. He's going to die unless we get this bleed tied off. We need to get to the hospital." Cassie says to the gunman.
"Might as well waltz into a police station!" The gunman says turning away from them.
"No hospitals." The driver on the make shift table mutters.
As his phone starts ringing he hands it to the other gunman.
"Don't answer it. Not if we're giving him bad news." He says obviously in pain.
"C-can't you guys tie off the bleed?" The very stressed out gunman asks.
"No," Sylvie says but not before Cassie says maybe.
"What? Cassie that's surgery."
"Look, if we do this, will you let us go?" Cassie asks looking at the guy.
"Okay. Deal." The gunman says walking off as he answers the second phone call.
"So this is what we think Cassie and Brett were in?" Gabby says looking worriedly at the car Cruz and Jay found.
"Yeah." Matt says sorrowfully as he opens the very, very, torn up door.
"Jay." She says as Detective Halstead made his way over to where she was standing.
"Gabby." He greets back.
"We gotta find them." She says looking at Halstead.
"We're uh, we're trying." He says almost breaking.
"Guys, I got some blood here!" Severide yells out pointing at the driver seat.
"Okay, at least one occupant is injured. Maybe they didn't get too far.” Jay says taking a step back to think.
“Okay, come here, everyone. Now!" Jay yells gesturing at the surrounding cops and firefighters.
"I want a tight perimeter, I want a K-9 unit, and I want a door to door search of the entire neighborhood. If you see anything that you think might be out of place, I want to hear about it." He says sending them off to their assigned tasks.
"Jay." Gabby says approaching him again.
"Hm?"
"She's my friend too. We'll find her." She says squeezing his shoulder reassuringly getting a tight lipped nod in return.
"Knife." Cassie says taking the blade from Sylvie and pressing it to the driver's neck.
Quickly pulling a gun on her she takes a step back.
"Hey! If you want me to do this, set the gun down now." She shouts a little startled.
As the other gunman takes the gun from the driver's hand, he sets it on a nearby surface.
"Okay. This is going to hurt, a lot. But I'm gonna do it fast. Kay?" Cassie asks getting a nod.
As Cassie made the incision on the driver's neck, she quickly turns around to set the blade down and grab something to use as a clamp.
"Hey, hey, that was the easy part okay?" Cassie says coming back and looking at the incision as he passed out from the pain.
"Hey, hey! What the hell did you guys do, what happened to him!?" The gunman yelled earning glares from both the paramedics.
"He passed out from the pain." Sylvie said now looking back down at the patient.
"Clamp it right here." Sylvie said looking at Cassie as she pointed to his carotid artery.
"You do realize what that will do right?" Cassie whispers with wide eyes.
Glancing down at the bloody table, Sylvie wrote 'Let him die.' in the man's blood.
After deliberating for a few seconds, Cassie shakes her head no and clamps the bleed. Looking back at Brett who scribbled out the words, Cassie gave her a specific look.
"Why so quiet?" The gunman asked.
"I uh, I'm clamping it off now." Cassie says as she took the blade out of the exacto knife they had and handed it to Brett.
"Okay, we're going to need to find someone to suture him up but he should be fine. Cassie says stepping away.
"You. Come here." The gunman says grabbing Brett's arm and taking her across the room.
"Hey! Wait! We had a deal, I need her!" Cassie says yelling at the man.
"I need to make sure he's okay first." The gunman says as he zip ties Brett's hands together.
As the man starts waking up, Cassie finishes putting some gauze his wound.
"See? All good." Cassie says looking at him.
"We'll see." The gunman says.
"The deal was, we fix him up and you let us leave!" Sylvie yells. Loud enough for Detective Halstead who's outside the door to hear. Something they're unaware of.
"I know what the deal was!" The man yells back.
"We gotta go now and the doors bolted, can you guys get us in!?" Jay yells at Casey who is already radioing for Severide.
"You said you'd rein in your partner, so how about it?" Brett yells as she secretly cuts the zip tie off her hands.
"Will you shut up!" He yells as he gets ahold of Cassie and holds a gun to her head.
"I knew we couldn't trust you two." Sylvie mutters as she finishes getting the zip tie off her hands.
"Drop the gun." Sylvie says catching the driver's , the gunman's, and Cassie's attention with the driver's gun in her hands.
"I said drop it!"
With a nod from the driver, the gunman shoots at Sylvie but not before Cassie moves his arm out of the way so the bullet catches the floor. As he fights back and fires again, Cassie is still holding his arm so his aim is off.
With his other arm that had a hold of Cassie, he lets her go to elbow her in the nose. Once he drops his elbow, Cassie punches the guy in the face. She then knocked him on his ass after he catches a kick in the balls.
As Cassie gets away to grab Brett, he continues firing at the paramedics.
Fleeing into another room and locking the door, Sylvie looks around to see that they're trapped.
"Shit." She mutters as Cassie blocks her from the bullets flying through the door.
"Stay behind me." Cassie says as she grabbed a metal pipe, preparing for when he breaks into the room.
Once he does the door flies off the hinges, and all of their attention's turn to the next sound.
"Chicago PD! Don't move, drop your weapon! Do it now!" Jay yells as they charge into the warehouse.
Watching as the gunman put his hands up surrenderence, Jay continues making his way to the gunman.
"Put your weapon down, get down on the ground. Now! Hands up behind your head!"
"Voight! Brett!" Casey yells as the girls make their way back to the other side of the door.
"We were in here." Sylvie says making her way through the door first, Cassie quickly following behind as she dropped the pipe and clutched her nose up. Probably broken.
"Anyone hurt?" Casey asks.
"Not me, Cassie got an elbow to the face though." Sylvie says breathing heavily.
"Sylvie!" Cruz says running up to her and pulling her into a big hug.
"Cassie," Jay says softly looking at his best friend once he got cuffs on the bad guy.
Basically falling into Jay's arms, Cassie quickly forgot about her nose.
"Hey, hey, hey, you're okay. Shh, you're okay." Jay said brushing his hand through the back of her hair as she sobbed into his shoulder.
"Hey Cass." Gabby said making her way over to the girl.
As she pulled away from Jay's chest, she didn't leave his grasp as his hand still rested on her hip.
"Hey," she said pretty nasally as the Gabby pulled her into a hug of her own.
"Some pretty good partner bonding, huh?" Gabby asked making her chuckle.
"I'm glad you're okay." Casey finally says patting her on the back.
"Thank you, guys." Cassie said turning back to Jay.
"You need to go to the hospital." He said looking at her eyes that are already turning black and blue, along with her swollen nose.
"What? You calling this ugly?" She asked teasingly as they started walking out of the warehouse.
"No, no, just. Colorful?"
Playfully hitting him in the chest with a shocked expression, Jay quickly told another cop to take the perp in to the station and that he was going to go to the hospital with Cassie.
"So, your nose is pretty broken. If you look here, there's a slight fracture. We're gonna tape some gauze around it. Make sure you keep it on for the next 12 hours and rewrap it every 8-12 hours, for the next 48. It should heal in no time, make sure you ice it and take some pain meds." Doctor Rhodes explained to both Jay and Cassie in the trauma room.
"So i'm good to go?" She asked a little impatiently.
"Uh, yes. Maggie is getting your discharge papers now, but I do want to take a look at this hand." He said lightly grabbing her hand and examining her swollen knuckles. Sending butterflies through her stomach too.
"Oh, no, it's fine. I just ice it with pain meds and the swelling usually goes down within 24." Cassie said smiling and making a fist and opening her palm a few times in a row.
"Hm. Okay," Connor said sighing and looking between Cassie and Jay. "I'll get those papers to you. It's nice to see you're okay Cassie. Really." He finished with a warm smile and walking out of the room.
Jay quickly looked at Cassie's blushing face and starts laughing.
"You like him!" Jay teased making her blush harder.
"I do not!" She yelled back hitting him lightly.
"No, no, you like him like him, don't you?" Jay continued earning an eye roll.
"Okay so what if I do. I see him when I bring patients in sometimes...drop it." She said looking away.
"Okayyy." Jay said all sing-song-y making her roll her eyes again.
"Knock knock." her father said walking into the room.
"Hey, thanks for staying with her but you can leave now. Brett is down at the station but i'm gonna need you to question this Anthony Lullo when Cassie gets down there." He said looking at Jay earning a nod.
"I'll see you later." Jay said with a tight lipped smile as he walked out.
"You okay?" Voight asked making her nod.
"Yeah, all good. Fractured my nose, but I think I did the same to him plus some manhood damage." Cassie said making them both chuckle.
“I apologize for not being here sooner. Alvin and I were picking up the guys from the warehouse and finding Lullo. I have a question for you though.”
“What is it?” Cassie asked.
“How about you come stay with me for the next few weeks. You know, until this whole thing blows over and we know you’re safe.”
“What? You’re kidding right?” Cassie said laughing at his offer.
“Do I look like I’m kidding?” Hank asks crossing his arms over his chest.
“Thanks, but no thanks.” Cassie says hopping off the trauma bed and grabbing her things.
“Look, you thought this thing ended what, three? four weeks ago? Then look at what happened today. Just until it blows over? Okay?”
Without saying anything Cassie just looks at her father and stares.
“Okay?” He asks again.
“No, not okay. Jay literally lives across the hall from me. If anything happens, I’ll be fine. I know self defensive, I can hold my own.” Cassie says defensively walking out of the trauma room.
Signing the discharge papers at the nurses desk, Cassie walked out of the hospital with Voight quick to follow.
“Can you please just listen to me on this?” Voight asked opening the passenger side door for Cassie.
“No.” Cassie then said slamming it once she got in.
“I’m gonna go downstairs with Alvin, I’ll meet you guys upstairs with Jay and Anthony. You and Sylvie will be on the other side of the mirror.” Hank said kissing Cassie’s temple as they both walked into the 21st.
“Who’s downstairs?” Cassie asked knowing what he’s going to do.
“Guys who like holding female paramedics hostage in a warehouse.” He said walking off.
“Cassie. Nice to see you again.” Trudy said greeting Cassie.
“Hey sarge. So since i’m a civilian now aren’t you supposed to have someone walk me to the interrogation room?” Cassie teased once she got to the sergeant’s desk.
Sighing, Trudy removed her reading glasses and looked at the girl.
“That was supposed to be your father’s job. I’ll do it though. Yo chump! Watch the desk until I get back.” Trudy says coming around and showing Cassie to a room she knew all too well.
“We have numerous witnesses saying they saw you make a serious threat against Peter Mills. Then showed up again to talk to Cassie Voight.” Cassie heard Jay say once she walked on the other side of the glass.
“My son was dead. I was upset.” says Anthony.
“Yeah, that certainly squares with the eyewitness statements. ‘Mr. Lullo was livid.’ , ‘Full of rage.’ , ‘Frothing at the mouth.’” Jay finally said setting the paper down in front of Lullo.
“Look, I went over there and I apologized to Peter Mills, and he accepted my apology. He’s a good kid.”
“But what about the part where you visited Cassie Voight? Multiple times, even after Peter Mills had stopped working at Firehouse 51.” Jay asked.
“I don’t understand what’s going on here. I thought you caught the men that took those paramedics?”
“You didn’t answer my question.” Jay said smiling at the man.
“Cassidy ignored my invitation to talk. Nothing happened since.” Lullo says sitting back into his chair.
“But why did you want to talk Cassie? I thought your issue was with Mills?” Jay asked trying to agitate him.
“Yes, but Cassie knew more.” Lullo muttered.
“What do you mean Cassie knew more?” Jay pressed.
“Nothing.”
“Oh c’mon Anthony. What did Cassie know?” Jay asked trying to poke the bear further.
“Cassie knew how slow she drove killing my son. Cassie knows that she is the cause of his death.” He admitted
“Your son was already dead by the time we got to the scene. We just prolonged how long it was before the inevitable happened, which was his heart stopping due to blood loss.” Cassie yelled as she bursted into the interrogation room, startling both Jay and Lullo.
“I don’t think she’s allowed in here detective.” Lullo said looking at Jay.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”Jay said covering for Cassie.
“Your son died due to his injuries. There was nothing we could do, but you need someone to blame. Is that it? Pointing a finger at someone that’s not you, or your kid?” Cassie asked trying to piss the man off.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about.” Lullo said chuckling and looking away.
“I think I do. Because if I didn’t, you wouldn’t be deflecting right now. If I didn’t you would still be pretending that you’re content with the fact it wasn’t one person’s fault that your kids dead.” Cassie said matter of factly.
When she didn’t get a response she scoffed.
“So you’re okay with that? That no one killed your son, and it was just his injuries? Oh c’mon. You need someone to blame. To fill your urge and get revenge. That someone killed him and they need to pay. Right?” Cassie asked.
“You killed him! If anyone killed my son it was that bitch! She was the one driving!” Lullo yelled surprising everyone.
“Your son was already dead before we even arrived at the hospital! It had absolutely nothing to do with my driving, and everything to do with the fatal injuries he sustained.” Cassie yelled back at the man not knowing how many times she could repeat herself over this matter.
“You all say that, but if you drove faster, he would’ve made it to the hospital, and he would’ve lived!” Anthony said standing and pointing at Cassie.
“Is that why you stalked me then? It was never about Mills was it? It was about the fact that I didn’t drive fast enough. So you stalked and harassed me, then hired someone to take me out?” Cassie pressed causing him to basically fume from the ears.
“Yes! You deserved to know what it was like to ride half alive while the person who was supposed to be helping you couldn’t care less about getting you help!” Lullo yelled.
“So you ordered a hit on me?” Cassie asked again. Waiting for the confession.
“Yes!” He seethed earning a content smile from Cassie.
“Jay, I believe you can handle this from here.” Cassie said walking out of the room.
Later on once they officially arrested Lullo and everyone was gathered in the bullpen, Cassie decided to stay behind and talk to her father.
“Hey, we wouldn’t have gotten him if you didn’t intervene. Good job, Cass.” Jay said patting her on the back.
“Jay, Cassie, my office.” Hank announced earning a confused look from the both of them.
“Uh oh, principal’s daughter called to his office?” Antonio joked getting an eye roll in return.
“I watched what happened.” Hank said as they shut the door.
“What do you mean?” Cassie asked confused.
“I mean I saw you get the confession from Lullo. I want you to know, I get that you didn’t like being a patrolmen. But, when I give you this offer you need to think about it from a detective’s perspective. You have all the training, you would even be able to start tomorrow. You have the balls. We need you. Cassidy, do you want to join intelligence?” Hank asked making her jaw drop.

A/N: Hi guys here is an original imagine, it's based on Chicago PD Season 3, Episode 10. I hope everyone likes it.

-------------
Like every other day you were feeling exhausted, nauseous and plain out of it. A year ago, you were diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, this marking a year after you got married to the love of your life -Jay Halstead-. You knew you had a predisposition to cancer, your mom Camille suffered and died from it when you were younger. So, in one of your annual check ups the terrible news came true, your family and friends were afraid you would suffer as your mom did. You were still having treatments monthly, already having taken this month’s chemo session.
It was hard on yourself, of course you were the one going through it, but for Jay. Well let’s say he had to see firsthand your parents history repeating itself. He was always there, for every sickness, through the depression state. He watch as you cried every night while pulling strings of hair from your head, and even after all of the treatments you had received to this day you looked healthy -the only noticeable thing, was the hair falling and the weight loss-.
Turning into your rock just as your dad had done for your mother all those years ago. Nonetheless he always tried his best to bring joy and happiness to you. Making you smile and laugh had turned into his daily goal -and his life promises-. Going home early, always bringing roses and pizza -your favorites-. Making sure you knew you could count on him to pull you back together in times of desperation.
You were currently home waiting for your husband to call you to have lunch together. Having a very weird feeling in your stomach, you went to lay down -its probably side effects- you thought going to bed.
Unknown to you your dad’s whole team was currently at Chicago Med attending a new case relating, victims being brought with chemo overdose. This struck a nerve deep down on everyone, turning to disbelief. Jay felt sick to his stomach by just thinking about you being in that situation.
“This is so fucked up…” Jay said looking around the room, while everyone shook their heads, Hank turning his gaze to the floor.
Just then Natalie Manning entered the room letting them know about another victim brought with the same diagnosis. While looking into the new victims stuff they found out all 4 patients knew each other, what they didn’t expect was the name Antonio said seconds later,
“I got a name. Doctor Dean Reybold” silence.
“What!” Jay said head snapping up at Hank, a terrified look on his face. Erin dropping what she had in her hands in the table, turning to look at Hank and Jay, same look in her eyes -recognition, fear, anger-.
Jay stood up rushing out of the room with Hank, Erin hot in his heels. Pressing the elevator button Jay tried taking deep breaths, nothing was working.
“Hank, Jay…” she said arriving at their side.
“Don’t. Don’t say anything Erin…I- I just wanna go home and see my wife” shaking his head trying to keep his ragging tears at bay. If this was true…
“Right…” Hank said stoic expression on his face -even though that wasn’t what he was going to do-
“Hey, I’m serious you can’t go” “Like hell we can!” Hank turned to look at her just as Alvin appeared behind her,
“No, I’ll go he won’t know who I am. If he’s the one overdosing this women…” “C’mon pal, just you and me…” Alvin tried to reason with Voight. Making Jay scoff, shaking his head, feeling like he couldn’t breathe.
“It been a year since I’ve heard that name” Hank started.
“We know…” Erin responded
“No. You don’t. He was the oncologist to diagnose Y/N’s cancer. He’s been treating her ever since…” Jay said turning to look at Al and Erin his voice breaking at the thought of you being another of his victims. Erin looked surprised she didn’t know you were being treated by Reybold.
“He last treated Camille and he has been treating my daughter too. If he’s the one doing this…” “We’ll get him Hank” Alvin finished making Erin nod. Hank nodded, turning to Jay who looked like he had seen a ghost, eyes red; so, putting a hand on his shoulder,
“Go home. Get Y/N to get checked let’s make sure…” he couldn’t finish the sentence, he just couldn’t. Jay nodded getting into the elevator, now alone bending hands on his knees while releasing his tears. This couldn’t be happening, not to you. From all the people in the world, not to you.
You had woken up from your nap currently in the kitchen having a glass of water and some pills for the nausea when you heard the door open, furrowing your eyebrows confused. Who was it? Jay wasn’t supposed to be home so early, but you were answered as you heard him,
“Honey!” “Kitchen…” then you heard his footsteps, when you saw his face, you knew something was seriously wrong. He rushed towards you picking you up by the waist in a bone crushing hug -what’s going on?- you thought to yourself. He sat you down on the kitchen aisle cupping both your cheeks, before taking a deep breath. Let the nightmare begin…
You felt numb in the car, you knew you were crying when your tears hit the palm of your hand that was in your lap. You felt like you were floating as you walked hand in hand with Jay towards a treatment room. You sat in the bed feet crossed gaze on the wall, Jay slightly behind you sharing a bit of space on the gurney. You could barely register Jay’s left hand on your back, right hand in you thigh while you waited for the inevitable.
“Jay…Y/N…” your brother-in-law, Will said when he walked trough the door. Jay looked up at his brother’s face, unreadable expression which made him worry even more. He proceeded to give your thigh a squeeze getting your attention, nodding towards his brother the minute you looked at him.
“Will’s here…”
“I don’t think I can hear it…” you said looking at Will, your eyes puffy from the crying. Will nodded taking a sit in the chair next to the bed taking a hold of your hand. -This is it…- you thought.
“Just say it man…” Jay said,
“Test show you’re clear of cancer…” he paused as you and Jay sighed in relieve both closing your eyes, before he continued, “…there’s no trace of any- ever being present in your body…” you sobbed while Jay pulled your back to his chest.
He wrapped his arms around you, closing his eyes tightly trying not to cry. Will could only squeeze your hand, dropping his head. You never had cancer; test showed you were as healthy as they came -of course with the exception of all the side effects from the chemo that you never needed-.
You went back to the district with Jay, he didn’t want to leave you alone, and you didn’t want to be alone. Claiming the stairs to the front desk you were met with Trudy, who immediately rounded her desk to hug you -Jay had called her before arriving- knowing you needed her.
“We’re gonna get this asshole. You hear me, you have my word…” she whispered in your ear while you cling to her, nodding your head. When you pulled away, Jay pulled you back into him, arm over your shoulder while you continued your trip upstairs. Everyone’s attention turned to the both of you, Erin walking up to you hugging you.
“And?” Hank asked hugging and kissing your head. When you didn’t say anything as you went back into Jay’s arms, your dad looked at your husband.
“Test say she never had it…” he said closing his eyes calm voice while putting his cheek on your head. This sentence made everyone gasp silently. You were never ill. You heard your dad scoff before going into his office, Al following. Jay took you to the break room sitting you in the couch before he bend in front of you hand in your cheek, kissing you deeply.
In that kiss you both shared the desperation, the anxiousness, the pain and most important the love. You stayed foreheads together and eyes closed for a moment, until you broke the silence.
“He lied…” you whispered, while your husband caressed your hips,
“I know…” “He said- he said I had cancer” you said looking at Jay pained and betrayed expression. Before standing up and going towards the garage.
“Y/N! Hey- baby talk to me…” he said reaching the bottom of the stairs, making you shake your head while you started to paced back and forth in front of the cage.
“Baby, don’t do that…” “Do what!” you screamed, making him shake his head, then pointing at you.
“That!” he paused before continuing, “Don’t bottle it up! You have to feel it…” he said raising his voice slightly.
“I DON’T WANNA FEEL IT” you screamed at him, tears staring to roll down your cheeks. “FEEL IT Y/N. FEEL IT!” he screamed back, to this you paused chest heaving until you couldn’t anymore, and you started sobbing your heart out.
“He told me he would cure me. He made promises- HE KNEW HE COULD KEEP THEM! I never had this fucking cancer of shit…” you screamed in between sobs, looking at Jay angry look on both your faces.
“Fucking. Shit. Motherfucking. Asshole! I. FUCKING. HATE. HIM!” you continued yelling kicking the door of the cage with every word you said. He was right you needed to feel, you needed to grieve, and you needed to cry or else it would consume you.
During your ‘feeling session’, Jay had taken a sit on a bench nearby, just making sure to keep an eye on you. No one else could hear you from down here, so you screamed, cried and kicked. Jay just continued to make sure you didn’t hurt yourself. Averting his gaze when he felt that he would cry too. You were tired, your eyes were swollen, and you barely had any voice left.
Sniffing and taking a shaky breath one last time, you went and sat at Jay’s feet, putting your head in his lap. He put his chin on his hand looking down at you. You heard him sigh before you felt his hand on your hair,
“Better?” he asked, “…better…” he leaned to kiss your cheek.
“I love you. He will pay. I’ll make sure of it…I promise” he said to which you nodded, “I love you too”
“Hey sorry to interrupt…we’re hitting” Erin said looking worriedly at you, without second thought Jay bend down to kiss you before running up the stairs.
Arriving at Reybold office, Erin had found him in a conference room. The minute Jay entered, Reybold smiled sadly at him -Reybold knew who Jay was obviously-. This made Jay give him a dead glare, jaw tensing, before Hank entered.
“Destroying patient documents Doctor Reybold?” Hank rhetorically asked, “I have nothing to hide Hank…” Reybold said calmly.
“You sure?” Jay said taking a step closer to a sitting Reybold. “Wait you three know each other?” Reybold’s lawyer -Miss Green- asked,
“I treated sergeant Voight’s late wife” “That’s not all is it?” Erin asked disgusted look in her face,
“I’m also treating sergeant Voight’s daughter, detective Halstead’s wife…” “Don’t say another word” his lawyer intervened.
“You know who doesn’t destroy patient files- innocent people” Hank continued taking steps towards him.
“Hank, Jay, you know me. I was there with you when Y/N was diagnosed…” “Shut up! Don’t talk about my wife” Jay cut him off finger pointed at him, deadly look in his face.
“Cuff him up” “Gladly!” Jay said while yanking Reybold up from his chair and pulling him out of the conference room.
After that the team tried their best to get some information out of him, but there wasn’t anything useful. They had suggested that you testified but being honest you weren’t near ready to talk about the whole situation. You were feeling wounded and betrayed, both you and Jay saying a big fat no. Miss Shelby -the lawyer taking the case- had advised not to since it could be used to dismiss the case in court giving how personal it was for the unit.
A couple of weeks later now in court, sitting next to your husband his arm around your shoulders pulling towards him, while you had your hand on his knee. Your attention was pulled back when your dad took the stand. The case wasn’t going well, Reybold’s defense was dismissing every evidence intelligence brought, and they couldn’t bring in the victims for some technicality. Every question asked was objected; the team had nothing at this point.
That was until your dad said he had witnessed Reybold administering chemo to your mom.
“I saw Doctor Reybold dose my wife Camille who died of cancer under his care, and my son-in-law has witnessed my daughter Y/N receiving treatment from Reybold…” this made your blood run cold. Jay tightening his grip on you kissing the side of your head. Erin holding onto your hand for support.
“I’m here. Breath…” Jay whispered in your ear. You blocked the rest of Reybold’s lawyer questions not wanting to remember how your mom was in her last days. This until Miss Shelby stood up again.
“Redirect…what other victims are you referring to Sergeant?” “Objection!” Miss Green objected.
“Miss Green questioned my witness about one prior patient Camille Voight and one current patient Y/N Halstead. Now she opened the door for all 42 patients he treated”
“She’s right overruled” you immediately saw the fail on Miss Green’s face. She knew they had lost the case for good.
“What other victims?” “Helen Graham, Nia Felton, Priya Parvati, Y/N Halstead and 38 other people this doctor diagnosed with cancer they didn’t have and treated with chemo they didn’t need”
“How do you know this?” Miss Shelby asked. “Because Doctor Reybold confessed to personally poisoning 42 patients, ruining their lives, terrifying them and their families, on court under oath…” you looked at your dad teary smile on your face, Jay pecking your head over and over again. While your sister squeezed your hand.
After your dad left the stand, you entered the room your he was in with Jay next to you, Erin finished hugging him. Which you took as opportunity to hug him tightly.
“Thank you…mom would be proud” whispering while he nodded, not showing too much emotion. Everyone knew Hank Voight wasn’t a big emotion showing person.
The jury had declared Doctor Reybold guilty of all charges, and while he shouted to your dad, saying that he had said the truth about your mom’s cancer,
“I would never harm Camille. I was their only hope, they got years because of me. You can’t put someone away for saving lives…” he paused before looking towards you. Making Jay shake his head warningly,
“Shut up…” Jay said serious look while he took a step-in front of you.
“I would never hurt you Y/N, I saved you…” he said, making you step out slightly from behind your husband,
“You’re just a liar and coward. Rot in hell you fucking piece of shit” you said so only he could hear you while he was being dragged away.
Arriving at home, you took your shoes off, about to walk into the living room when Jay pulled you back, cupping your face and kissing you deeply. You wrapped your arms around his neck thumb caressing his neck, pulling back looking at each other. He tapped your waist slightly so you would jump and wrap your legs around his waist, like that he carried you towards the couch. Sitting with you straddling his lap while he smiled when you pocked his nose.
“Thank you, baby…” you whispered looking down at him, which made him confused,
“For what hon?” he caressed your cheek looking deeply into your beautiful eyes.
“For keeping your promise” “Always beautiful” he answered pecking your lips, before you snuggling your head into his neck, his chin on top of your head. In this moment he was exited and grateful that he had the opportunity of a future with you. That you both could live without the paralyzing feeling of uncertainty, that one day you wouldn’t be there anymore.

Dude, There’s A Cop
Summary: Lyla pulls Elleigh away from doing something stupid.  Little did they know, a police officer was watching the whole time.
TW: Suicidal Thoughts, Slight Language Warning
Word Count: Around 596
Note:  Hi!  This one was inspired by something that happened to my friend and I yesterday and she wanted me to turn it into a fanfiction.
FYI:  Lyla is Jay and Hailey’s daughter (when I originally thought of Lyla she was supposed to be Jay and Hailey’s adoptive daughter.  It went from that to biological daughter to Halstead!Sister, which you can see based on the other imagines I’ve posted.)
Also, Elleigh is pronounced Ellie, Elleighana is pronounced Ellie-Anna (If you couldn’t tell I love unique names/unique spelling.)
Should I write more daughter fics?  Also I do take requests, it just may take a while depending on how I feel writing it/if I feel like writing it.
I also may not write a request at all if I feel like I don’t have enough creativity or freedom if that makes sense.
Enough from me, I hope you enjoy!! (:
“Come on, Elleigh, get out of the road!”  Lyla complained as she dragged Elleigh along, stopping her from standing in the middle of the road.  The car passed them, the driver looking at them like they were stupid.
“They’re looking at us like we’re stupid.”  Lyla complained as the two of them walked along, Elleigh just laughing slightly and putting a different song on.
They took a right and kept walking, eventually moving to the left to get onto another road by the bike trail.
“Ooh, a car!”  Elleigh exclaimed kind of childishly, standing in the middle of the road and putting her arms out as if she wanted the car to hit her (hint, she did).
“Here we go again.”  Lyla thought to herself, grabbing Elleigh’s arm, practically dragging her away from the road, “Come on, Elleigh!  Stop standing in the middle of the road!”
“Aww.”  Elleigh complained as the car passed them, Lyla rolling her eyes, clearly annoyed.  Elleigh would do this every time they went somewhere, and it honestly kind of got on Lyla’s nerves, because Elleigh wasn’t about to throw herself in front of a car on Lyla’s watch.
The two walked up the hill, walking over the bike trail and back down the hill onto another road, jumping over a puddle as they did so.  They walked down a small street, standing in front of the highway at the end of it.
“Wait.”  Lyla instructed, putting her arm out to stop Elleigh from throwing herself in front of the car.  After a moment, it was safe enough to cross.
“Okay, now we can go.”  Lyla grabbed Elleigh’s arm, pulling her across the street, Elleigh struggling playfully against her.  They made it to the sidewalk, Elleigh trying to step into the road as more cars drove past.
“Elleigh, stop.”  Lyla demanded, grabbing Elleigh’s arm as Elleigh stumbled to the side and almost fell, being the clumsy person she is.  Lyla shook her head, “People are gonna think you’re drunk!”
“But I am.”  Elleigh replied playfully, Lyla just laughing at the comment.
“Dude, there’s a cop right there.”  Lyla stated, seeing the truck parked across the street.  She looked at it as the driver stepped out, walking across the vacant parking lot and stopping at the end of it.  He looked both ways as if he was about to cross.
“He’s coming!”  Lyla exclaimed, laughing slightly.
Elleigh and Lyla watched as the officer crossed the street, and it was that moment Lyla realized who it was.
Lyla burst out laughing, and it was when Lyla did so that Elleigh too realized who it was.
“Oh my God.”  Elleigh muttered, “He’s gonna tell my dad!”
“Hi Dad.”  Lyla greeted, Elleigh sending her a death glare.
“Elleigh, what are you doing?”  Jay questioned, ignoring Lyla as he crossed his arms and stood in front of the two of them.
“I, uh-”  Elleigh trailed off, not knowing what to say.
Jay sighed, “Alright.  Just, stop doing that, okay?  Cars keep trying to brake because they don’t want to hit you.”
“His breath stank.”  Lyla whispered, Elleigh sending her a death glare.
She turned her attention back to Jay, “I’m sorry.  It won’t happen again.”
     “It’s okay.  I trust you.”
“Good.  Just, please don’t tell my dad.”
Jay chuckled, looking behind him, “I won’t have to.”
“Elleighana Lin Voight, what in the world are you doing?”  Hank questioned as he crossed the street, an angry look on his face.
Lyla snickered as Elleigh groaned in annoyance.  There was no way in hell she’d be doing that again.

“Hank, do you remember your first time?”
It was almost midnight on Christmas Eve and, after finally getting an overly tired Alexis to sleep, Hank and Kate had collapsed into an exhausted tangle of limbs on the sofa, two half-empty glasses of wine on the coffee table and ‘It's a Wonderful Life’ on the TV.
She wasn’t sure where the question came from but she supposed that it stemmed from her incessant desire to know everything there was to know about Hank Voight. In her eyes, no piece of knowledge was trivial when it came to the enigma that was her husband but, when his body tensed beneath her and her question was met with complete silence, Kate lifted her head from his chest to peer up at him, curious hazel meeting startled russet.
“That’s a subject I ain’t touching with a barge pole.” He eventually grumbled with a huff of amusement, prior experience dictating that these conversations were better had when their house was void of both Erin and their daughter but, undeterred, Kate continued to gaze up at him expectantly.
“Honey, why would I let you get upset about something that happened long before you were born?” He challenged, more than a little baffled at her left-field line of questioning but, when she jutted out her lower lip and muttered a quiet ‘please’, he rolled his eyes and caved like a house of cards.
“Summer of ’84. Prom night.”
Kate pushed into a seated position at his side and instantly he regretted indulging her when she robbed him of the warmth of her body, the soft cotton of his t-shirt instantly becoming cool without her touch.
“I’d had a great football season my senior year of high school and Northwestern had offered me a full scholarship. I guess as a promising Quarterback, I was like catnip for the girls who wanted to hang off the arm of a football player.”
Of course she knew he had snubbed both college and a career in football to follow in his father’s footsteps but she couldn’t help but imagine a young, inexperienced version of her husband in a darkened classroom, locking lips with his giggly date as he battled with the ruffles on her dress with shaky, unsure hands.
“Hank Voight, the cliche.” She teased with a smirk but the cute montage playing in her mind soon came to a screeching halt when provided some clarity on the identity of the young woman with whom he’d cashed in his v-card.
Turns out, it wasn’t his prom date after all.
“Wait…you lost your virginity to your Spanish professor!?” She balked, her jaw going slack and her eyes widening comically when he hiked a casual shoulder as though it was commonplace to loose your virginity to a woman who was probably old enough to be your mother!
“After I took my date home like the perfect gentleman I was, I headed back to school to meet some buddies and she was, uh, waiting for me under the bleachers.”
His teacher was waiting for him under the bleachers!? Part of her wanted to hunt this woman down and knock her teeth down her throat for taking advantage of him but she wasn’t naive enough to believe that even a teenage Hank Voight could have been forced to do something he didn’t want to do.
So instead of letting her fiery protectiveness ruin the rest of their evening, she simply cocked an eyebrow and levelled him with a serious look.
“So…how was it?”
Biting back the clipped bark of laughter that rumbled in his chest, Hank shook his head in disbelief. Of course she would want to get right down to the horny details.
“Fast.” He admitted with a snort of amusement, vaguely recalling how he’d almost ruined his dress pants when his busty, olive-skinned instructor had propositioned him with a lascivious glance over her shoulder, blood-red lips quirked into a coquettish grin as she slowly lifted her tight skirt up and over her hips.
It had been over almost as quickly as it began, stumbling away from her on trembling legs as he fought to catch his breath, his heart jackhammering against his ribs. But she had simply shimmied her skirt back over the voluptuous globes of her ass, pecked him on the lips and left him standing awkwardly in the darkness with her sultry adios cariño echoing in his ears.
When he caught Kate’s pensive expression out of the corner of his eye, he idly wondered what she was thinking. Was she imagining him pinning a faceless brunette against a jagged beam, their quiet moans interspersed with the sound of flesh meeting flesh? Or perhaps she envisioned him looking utterly terrified as a Mrs Robinson-type character dropped to her knees at his feet and proceeded to blow his innocent little mind into the next solar system?
Either way, he couldn’t contain the quiet sigh of relief when the corner of her mouth tugged into a wry grin, her eyes sparkling with genial mirth as she met his gaze from across the couch.
“Well, it’s good to know you weren’t always a stallion in the sack.” She teased with a wink, a pleasant sensation blooming low in her belly when his eyes darkened with lust, a fission of sexual tension zinging between them like an electric current.
“A stallion, huh?” He growled, caging her between his arms as he planted both hands on the cushions either side of her hips, inching forwards until her had her pinned between the pillows and his warm body.
Capturing her lips in a searing kiss, Hank settled his weight in the cradle of her thighs, her long limbs instinctually winding around his body like ivy to draw him down until they were pressed together from chest to thigh.
“You know I saved my best work for you sweetheart.” He rumbled when his mouth left hers in favour of tracing hot, tongue-filled kisses along the line of her jaw and down the slope of her neck, grinning against her heated flesh when she mewled in response and her hips jerked against his in search of sweet friction.
Whatever smart-assed response she had in mind died in her mouth when Hank slipped a hand along the soft curve of her belly, fingertips gliding over the smooth flesh to slide beneath the elastic of her sleep shorts.
“Hank, we can’t…Erin’s upstairs.”
Her protest fell on deaf ears when his deft fingers dipped between her legs to trace slow, teasing circles around her swollen bundle of nerves with the pads of his fingers.
“Better stay quiet then.” He whispered with a smirk, clearly having forgotten how they had both almost perished with embarrassment not too long ago when they were caught in flagrante by his pseudo-daughter.
While at least they were still fully clothed, it was a bad idea. It was such a bad idea. But all thoughts of trying to persuade him to wait until they were in the privacy of their bedroom left in rush when he slipped first one, then a second thick digit inside of her, the rough pad of his thumb taking over the rhythmically stroking of her aching clit.
“Fuck Hank!” She whimpered, hands scrabbling to find purchase on the soft cotton of his t-shirt, the fabric bunching in her vice-like grip as she used his body as a counter-balance to her own undulating hips.
“So good for me.” He husked, adjusting his weight so that he could shove her t-shirt up and over her chest, lips quirking into a grin as her dusky nipples instantly pebbled when bared to the cool air.
When he drew one tight bud into the warm cavern of his mouth, Kate released her grip on his shirt in favour of frantically clutching at the back of his head with one hand, the other flying to her mouth in an effort to muffle the tight whine of pleasure that was threatening to escape unbidden in response to his masterful stimulation.
Before long, Kate was dancing along the precipice of bliss, her chest damp and heaving as she gasped for breath, desperate for him to push her over the edge. Releasing her nipple with a quiet ‘pop’, Hank increased the pace of his once-languid movements, propping himself up on one elbow to watch her lithe body bucking and writhing beneath him, face contorted in pure ecstasy.
“C’mon baby, let me feel you.”
He could sense her climax coming long before her slick walls began to pulse and throb around his fingers, giving him ample time to knock her hand out of the way and seal his mouth over hers when she came with a sharp cry, suppressing the instinctive, guttural groans that followed before she woke up the rest of the house.
Easing her back down to earth with slow, steady strokes and soft, easy kisses, Hank was watching her intently with an expression of smug satisfaction plastered across his handsome face when Kate eventually managed to force her eyes open, the flushed skin at the base of her throat pulsing rhythmically in time with her rapid heart rate.
When the fluttering around his fingers eventually ceased, Hank withdrew his hand from her shorts and, with his eyes still locked on hers, lifted his arousal-slicked digits to his lips, sliding both fingers into his mouth with a hum of delight.
Ignoring Kate’s breathy “Jesus Christ” at his salacious display, he leaned down to press a gentle kiss to the very tip of her nose, his eyes crinkling with amusement as he peered down at her.
“I guess staying quiet was never your strong suit, was it?”

Good morning. Still basking in last night’s episode. I have a tremendous amount of agreement with you on the Fangirlish reviews. One thing I’m not clear on is when they talk about Voight lying to Kim and being the cause of the trauma. Maybe initially when she didn’t know, but now?
I know that Voight, Hailey, and Jay did conceal what happened to Roy, but even though they didn’t show it, Kim has to know that Roy’s dead and not a threat. FBI dweeb (I’m drawing a blank on his name, right now), had to report that Roy’s body was found, even though he concealed part of it, by saying a rival killed him.
Am I off base on this? It’s been bothering me a bit, but I can understand it because they could’ve followed up with a scene of someone telling Kim that he’s dead. But I don’t think Voight continued to contribute to her trauma.
Glad to see you back!
Oh I’m gonna go on a ramble and I have no shame. Because Voight completely thinks of Kim as his daughter, and it’s been shown time and time again since season seven. And just because something isn’t shown on screen doesn’t mean Kim doesn’t know.
She’s in therapy. I guarantee if Walton was still out there - or Kim thought he was - it’d have been brought up. It’s too juicy a topic not to being up. She knows he’s dead. Should the show have shown us that? Yeah but last season was Eid plotted so…
But back to my Voight and Kim thing. In 7x11 he hugs her and grins when she tells him she’s pregnant. We’ve never seen Hank Voight do that. Ever. Not even with the woman he raised since she was fifteen. The look on his face outside the hospital room? The way he let her work on the case in 7x13 even though she shouldn’t have? Tell me he doesn’t adore her. Try it.
All through season 8 he’s checking in on her about Makayla. When she’s abducted it’s the “or her daughter” that makes him decide to kill Walton. Watch his face closely in that scene. Walton’s getting beaten, but it’s not until Makayla is threatened that Voight goes feral. There’s a meta I wrote that’s linked in my masterlist about this.
And then season 9 and checking on her in 9x02. Telling her in 9x14 that he wouldn’t bet against her. In 9x15 he’s the only one who knows what Adam and Kim are going through and tries to guide them.
And then last night. If you think for a second that that man was going to pull Kim you’re wrong. If you think that was anything other than a man who is watching her claw back from the brink, and is so proud of her? You’re wrong.
It’s a man who has watched his pseudo daughter battle demons that he can’t imagine, seeing her beat them. It’s a man who can’t tell her how proud of her he is. But he’s showing it in every way he looks at her.
I’ll never say Voight is a good guy. But he truly loves Kim Burgess like a daughter, and if you don’t see that then you are will fully just looking at him to hate him.
