He's very alluring, and he's also welcoming and so people think it's okay for them to flirt with him.

Summary: Ushijima has a little crush on a girl who shares his favorite coffee shop

Warnings: none, fluff

Everyday before practice, Ushijima would pick up his iced americano from the cafe down the street.

And everyday he would see you, sitting by the window with your own drink between your hands. Eyes bouncing around the coffee shop before finally settling on him, and giving him the little smile and wave he so eagerly looked forward to each morning.

Your smile made your eyes upturn slightly, bright and awake even in the early hours of the day. He loved that about you, and it helped him stay motivated to get to practice early. Ushijima tried his best to notice every little detail about you in the moments you blessed him with those waves, tucking the details into the back of his brain forever.

Like the freckles that speckled across parts of your face, the dimples on your cheeks and the tiny crinkles by your eyes that appeared when you gave him a soft smile. Like your collar bones tempting him from just above the neckline of your sweater. Or your tiny hands that barely made it around the mug of whatever it was you drank every morning.

Ushijima swallowed roughly, returning your greeting before quickly turning out of the cafe and trying to conceal the grin breaking its way across his lips.

It was business as usual for Ushijima the next few days, only seeing you briefly in the cafe before rushing off to practice- but thoughts of you stayed with him. Long hours of workouts were passed in seconds as he imagined you standing next to him in the gym. Watching, with him the center of your attention. Even winning matches felt bitter sweet, because he could so easily picture you on the sidelines, running into his open arms to congratulate him on a job well done.

But unfortunately, Ushijima’s one major shortcoming was communication. His teammates even referred to him as a “volleyball idiot”, whatever that was.

Sometimes he would give you a small “hello” or “good morning”, but your conversation never went further than that. It was pure torture. He was confident that if you had only been introduced properly that things would be different, but Ushijima knew that he was only a stranger in the cafe to you.

“It would not be polite to disturb her peace or approach her against her will.”

“Dude. Just say hi, it’s not that weird!”

Hoshiumi honestly could not believe his ears. Not only was Ushijima chatting up a storm instead of warming up, but he was talking about a girl. Ushijima was hardly ever interested in something that had nothing to do with volleyball, and as far as Hoshiumi knew, girls were certainly never on his radar before now…

“We exchange greetings all the time, that’s not the issue-”

“Ask her what her coffee order is.” Kageyama cut in with a surprisingly normal answer, and now Hoshiumi was sure that he had woken up in another dimension this morning.

“I didn’t know you were good at this sort of thing. Thank you.” Rising to his full height and turning towards the court with a newfound energy, Ushijima had found his answer. And two days later, on a Thursday morning, the opportunity arose.

You were a bit later than usual in arriving at the cafe, and today you were in line directly behind Ushijima at the counter. He took a deep breath, willing the buzzing in his brain to silence itself as he turned to face you.

If he hadn’t just taken a breath, he certainly would’ve choked on the next one. You were gorgeous up close, and he was overcome with the urge to stare. Getting himself under some semblance of control, he bowed softly and muttered a soft “good morning, how are you”. Your eyes followed his the entire time, and he realized how much shorter you were. Your neck tilted back to raise your face to his, lips just loosening a breath, before you quickly returned his bow and greeting.

“What’s your coffee order?” Shit, did that sound weird? It certainly felt weird.

“I get a flat white!” Her smile is so cute… What the hell is a flat white?

“I can’t say I'm familiar with-”

“What can I get for you today sir?” Without even thinking, Ushijima answered the cashier.

“Two flat whites please.”

You were clearly taken aback, but Ushijima thought your flustered reaction was so sweet. That tiny blush creeping across your nose made the initial awkwardness more than worth it. And Ushijima promised himself in that split second that he would see that blush again, somehow.

“O-oh I didn’t say that to make you buy my coffee! Thank you so much but I-”

“It was my pleasure. I have a few extra minutes this morning if you’d like to sit with me?” Oh, if Kageyama could see him now.

Your conversation was short because of his morning practice, but Ushijima finally got your name and your number, which was far more than he ever could have expected for your first real interaction. And as he got up to leave and say his goodbyes, he remembered the little promise he made to himself.

“I hope you’ll continue to let me do this in the mornings, have a good day”

And that adorable blush graced his view once more as you nodded in shy agreement.

I feel like once a year, Kita holds a Captain's Retreat on his rice farm. It's so everyone can relax and enjoy fresh rural air, but he does end up putting everyone to work at some point.

Aran is invited, since he was the on-court captain, but he gets to relax since he helps Kita a lot anyway in his off-season (also, he has bae rights)

Everyone (especially Suguru) makes fun of Kuroo for losing his breath easily. Bokuto isn't allowed to use sharp objects. Oikawa and Terushima get scolded by Kita for taking inappropriate selfies with corn cobs. Ushijima has a near encyclopedic knowledge about plants. Daichi and Moniwa are the only ones actually helping Kita

1. Daichi Sawamura:

Would give you a kiss on your earlobe because he found out that it makes you blush.

He'd occasionally nibble on it while cuddling.

It's his go to move because he can kiss you there and whisper how much he loves you.

Since he loves seeing you blush he'd do it at the times you least expect it.

Even after years of being together, it'll never get old for you or him.

Sometimes, when you do it back, he's gets all red like a tomato.

It brings him so much happiness when he sees you smile before leaving and coming back from work.

2. Kuroo Tetsuro:

This man lives on kissing you on the neck, and you cannot convince me otherwise.

Just little pecks throughout the day.

He'd move your hair aside gently and shower3 you with kisses.

He'd also be extremely dramatic if he doesn't kiss you for the day. "Do you not love me anymore?!" He'd whine while nuzzling his face into your neck, planting kisses.

Oh, he loves it when you do it back. He'd run his fingers through your hair and then give you a small peck on the lips.

Occasionally leaves subtle hickeys that people wouldn't notice unless they look closely.

3. Bokuto Kotaro:

He gives you pecks on the lips like its medication.

His mood 1000% depends on giving you a kiss. He HAS TO give you a kiss whenever he meets you.

Once he gives you the peck, he'd gently caress your cheek with a huge content smile on his face.

There are a lot of times where you'd give him a peck, and he'd always pull you back to give you another one.

He wins matches just so he could pull you into a passionate kiss after the match. He's always down for a celebratory make-out.

4. Oikawa Tooru:

He has a think for hands so hand kisses are for the win.

He'd intertwine his fingers with his and kiss the back of your hand.

He'd also plant kisses on your palm, fingers, or even wrists.

He prefers hand kisses because he can give it to you anywhere, and he loves to see your smile while he gives you the kiss.

He'd also treat you like loyalty by bending down and taking your hand for the kiss. He likes being dramatic that way.

When you give it back, he's even more dramatic "How DaRe YoU CoPy Me?!" He'd ask and love bomb you with kisses.

5. Ushijima Wakatoshi:

Kisses you on the cheeks because its the most practical and conveys his affection since he's not one to show off.

For a guy who doesn't show affection, he'd give you kiss like it's muscle memory.

He doesn't mind when you give it to him because he doesn't let anyone but you.

If you're on call or doing something, he'd patiently wait because he wants all your attention when he gives you a kiss.

He'd give you a kiss over the phone too if you'd ask him.

6. Kita Shinsuke:

This man gives you forehead kisses because he believes it's the purest form of love.

He doesn't care if you're sad, sick or angry, he believes a kiss on the head followed by a hug would fix anything.

When you say you want to give him a kiss, he'd hold his hair out of the way and bend down for you [sorry if you're tall :)]

He enjoys your reaction, which is his favourite part. He doesn't show it out though.

He'll religiously follow it if it means making you happy.

“Fuckboys get married at twenty.”

“Hi… hi is also a way to start a conversation,” you say, and your best friend, Kumiko shrugs.

She’s had this theory for as long as you’ve known her. Good guys take their time in settling down in getting married because when they find the one, what’s the rush? Fuckboys, however, are different. Fuckboys are immune to love until they’re not. So when they find the one they know it’s real and at that point, why wait?

You think it’s bullshit. And also not a proper greeting as she sat across from you, rolling her eyes still yet to say hello.

“This is our last hangout, come on,” you say and she pouts.

“Why do you have to go all the way to Argentina?”

“I told you. I’m sick of saying I love Miyagi just cause I’ve never been anywhere else. I wanna go places, see the world.”

“Yeah, yeah. Don’t forget about me.”

“I could never.”

“Or my theory.”

“Whatever,” you say, laughing brushing her notion off.

You move to Argentina the summer after you turn nineteen. You do a year studying abroad but kept an open mind in case you wanted to stay. The country is breathtaking. The food, the atmosphere, the culture, the people. Well, a person.

“You’re kidding?” you ask, bewildered.

“Yeah, I went to Aoba Johsai. I was a setter for the volleyball team, even made captain in my third year,” Oikawa Toru will tell you over a morning coffee, your first official date.

“That’s crazy! We lived in the same prefecture and didn’t meet until we’re both across the world.”

“Yeah,” he agrees, “I really wish I would have met you sooner,” he confesses, sending a longing look your way that makes your heart skip a beat.

“You probably say that to every pretty face that walks in here don’t you?”

“No, I don’t,” he says and with the way he pauses after the words come out, it was almost like he was just figuring that out himself.

You smile and as he watches your lips curve upwards, he smiles too. You shy away from his gaze, turning away but he places a finger under your chin to where your eyes meet once more. “You look beautiful.”

“T-thanks.”

“Anytime,” he promises and one thing about Oikawa is that he keeps his word.

He would call you beautiful nearly every day he would see you, and you saw the man every day. He became an addiction, something you always craved and never got enough of, and from the way he would hug you just a little bit longer before he’d go back to his place, he felt it too. The mornings he stayed over were long and lazy, his arms wrapped around your waist as he pulled you further into his chest when you tried to get up a moment too soon. He places soft kisses on your collarbone when you sleep longer than he does and even after the alarms ring and are snoozed over five times, he won’t dare to let go first. Safe to say after not too long, you were in love.

Unfortunately for him because you were also going back home. The school year had come and gone all too quickly and just shy of your one-year anniversary; a milestone where he wanted to ask you to move in, he was helping you move away.

You hear a small sniffle as he tapes up the last box and you stop what you were doing, walking over to hug him. His larger frame envelops yours as he pulls you in an impossibly tight embrace and you feel him trying not to cry.

“I don’t wanna go.”

“Then stay,” he pleads, pulling away and you gaze up at his bloodshot eyes.

“I can’t-”

“You can.”

“My lease here just expired-”

“Move in with me,” he offers.

“School-”

“Transfer.”

“My friends-”

“We’ll go back and visit as much as you want. Just please, please don’t leave me.”

You sigh and take his hands in yours as you explain, “look, I love you. So much, but I can’t take this kind of chance on a boyfriend-”

“Will you marry me?”

“What?” you whisper, voice so quiet you barely heard it yourself.

“Marry me? I was gonna ask anyway, been thinking about it since our first date. I have a ring at my place, I’ll get you a better one eventually. And you’ll get the best seats for my games. And when I can’t wear my ring I’ll put it on a chain and you can wear it when I’m playing-”

“Toru,” you interrupt and he shakes his head with a wobbly smile.

“Y/N, marry me. Please.”

Kumiko’s theory was right. Fuckboys get married at twenty, but she left out one crucial piece of information. She never said anything about who actually marries them.

“I…yes.”

And that it’d be you.

Sawamura Daichi:

Daichi noticed that he fell in love while laying in his bed one night alone. His thoughts raged in the cold winter night as he shivered and clung to any warmth he could get, brain racing for a reason he couldn't explain. But then his thoughts drifted to you and he couldn't shake how much he wanted you to be cuddled into him in that moment. His heart crashed like the snow on the weighted branches outside finally winning its battle and he realized he had fallen in love. He was going to be your disney prince and you would be his spoiled princess even if it took another winter to get you there. (Spoiler. It didnt. )

Koutaro Bokuto:

Sitting alone at lunch one day was when Bokuto realized he was in love. Akaashi was home sick and you weren't there because of one reason or another and it gave him time to think, something he normally didnt indulge himself in very often when others were around. His thoughts started with pouting because he was alone and slowly built into him being upset because you werent there specifically. Suddenly a random thought of "I love you y/n please come back. It's boring without you. " made it's way into his head and everything felt like it made sense. He rushed to text you to meet him somewhere ASAP so he could confess. Now that he understood what he felt, he wasn't letting you go.

Toru Oikawa:

Oikawa was semi-aware the whole time that something about you was different, but when he accidentally confessed over a sleepy text he figured it out for sure. It was probably 2 or 3 am before a really stressful game and he was texting you for comfort and support that you were willingly giving him, and you told him to go to bed so that he had enough energy for his match. He texted back -mhmm. I will. Love you so much y/n- and promptly fell asleep happy. He freaked out the next morning when he saw the text, but it helped him put together the pieces.
