Introducing: Christian Russo

Christian Russo is a talented rock, metal, and fusion guitarist born in May 1982. He started his musical journey at the age of 14 by studying with renowned national and international masters such as Fabio Zeppetella, Carlo Fimiani, Lutte-berg, William Stravato, Nico Stufano, Scott Henderson, Tim Miller, Umberto Fiorentino, and Osvaldo Lo Iacono.

He also participated in various masterclasses with artists like Andy Timmons, Guthrie Govan, Greg Howe, Scott Henderson, Carl Verheyen, Paul Gilbert, Roben Ford, and many others. In 2008, Christian joined the band "Indie," with whom he worked until 2010, releasing music under the Eko Music label from Siracusa. Later, he joined the Klivia project and collaborated with various artists, including Ricky Portera, Iskra Menarini, Michele Ascolese, Claudio "Gallo" Golinelli, and Pasquale Pietro Neri.

Christian has continued to play and collaborate with numerous artists in the Italian music scene, including Dino, Wilma Goich, Stefania Cento, Andrea Cervetto (New Trolls), Shalpy Giovanni Scialpi, and Valerio Zelli (O.R.O.). He also performed at the first Sila Tre Vette event, during which he was filmed by Rai Sport and participated in the television show "Cantando Ballando" on Canale Italia with the Mediterranean orchestra. In 2014, he collaborated in the first edition of "La Place des Artistes" in Cosenza.

In 2015, Christian released his first entirely instrumental EP titled "The Guitar Battle for Peace". The EP featured the participation of numerous guests of national and international fame, including Michele Ascolese, William Stravato, Carlo Fimiani, Vanny Tonon, Andrea Martongelli, Andrea Morucci, Patrick Abbate, Sergio Pescara, Gianni Cicogna, and Michael Angelo Batio, one of the greatest metal guitarists of all time. The EP was released by Hydra Music by Amedeo Pesce and reviewed in the historic magazine "CHITARRE."

In 2019, Christian collaborated with jazz fusion guitarist Brett Garsed on the track "Road Beyond Borders," which was included in the album "Terre lontane" produced by William Stravato. He continued to collaborate and play with other luminaries of music, including the renowned bassist Billy Sheehan and drummer Walfredo Reyes Jr.

Christian is a very active live performer, with performances on prestigious stages and high-profile events, including his performance at the Arena Farnesina event - Municipio Roma XV "Andy Luotto che il gusto della cultura, cinema, musica e teatro" in 2020.

Christian graduated with top marks in Rock Blues Guitar from the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome and has years of experience in music education. He began his teaching career at the "CMM - Modern Guitar Academy" of Andrea Morucci, where he promoted a didactic philosophy aimed at enhancing the characteristics and potential of the instrument.

Currently, Christian plays together with Carmen Costantino (Demetra) in the metal band "Sliding Doors," which released its first single "I Believed" (with Billy Sheehan on bass) in 2023. With over 400,000 views on YouTube, the song was accompanied by a video directed by the award-winning Swedish director Patric Ullaeus.
