1- Denzel Washington.

I know people keep saying he plays the same roles over and over, but I've seen the Glory. I've seen clips of Malcom X. I've seen Much Ado About Nothing. I've seen Remember the Titans. Denzel Washington is an AcTEUR. The Bone Collector! And yall can suck my toes. And not in a way that'd be fun for toe enjoyers.

2- Jessica Parker Kennedy

Fight me. I know YOU won't fight me. But fight me. For Max alone she deserves it. But I really love the difference between the Noras. She needs something with Recognition. Since Award Seasons was too busy smelling GOT farts to pay attention to Black Sails.

3- Yoo In-na

I've loved her since Touch Your Heart. And her drunk scene in Bo-ra! Deborah! really got me. I wanted to watch the show because of her and I love her character. I love what she brings to her -- the pain and the heartache and the struggles. I heard she was so good in Snowdrop but I don't know that I want to see it. I need her to be in more shit, so I can follow. I'm going to watch te Goblin (eventually) for her and Lee Dong-wook

I honestly can't say she is my top three EVER, but she's my top three right NOW. I feel a lot of feelings when this woman's characters break down. And she does dead eye, completely stripped down stare so well. Whew.

4. lndira Varma

Only lower on the list, because unlike In-na and Jessica -whom I have watched/returned to things for - most of Indira's stuff have come CLOSE to watching for her. Which mostly have to do with how tired/busy/etc I am or if the show was too white for me to tolerate than the level of her skill. She, JPK, and probably Denzel would make it on any 'forever faves' list I had (and that too would not be in order).

5. Katie Cassidy

Sue me. I started Arrow for her. She was my favorite Ruby. I adored Laurel. I don't know man, she deserves recognition.

To me Draco/Ginny is a blip in the radar. A nice rarish pair (some rarepairs in HP have more fic that some of my most popular otps lmao) in the fic I read waaaay back in the day but not even my preferred ship for either of them (Drastoria and Ginny/Luna/Neville).

Meanwhile, Memori is outright OTP of OTPs material. It literally checked every box, even some I didn’t think were possible in this show! As for your question: it is harder for me to figure my IF ocs mbti, because I don't write them the same way -- and I like to write them before I take a quiz. But I do have guesstimates for some!

Kendis - it might surprise some people is - ESFJ [enneagram 8w7]. I've gotten ENFJ for them -- but I think it is partially because I struggle with sensors at time, but when you look at the stacks, ESFJ work better. And even just going with some of the online summaries or comments on forums, she is very much ESFJ [even if some ENFJ beats do hit].

Andy was ISFP -- another unexpected one, another that leans a little -- because outwardly he can play ISFJ fairly well. Especially when he is younger. I don't recall his enneagram -- 6w5?

Infamous MCs: BJ is INFJ, Hiyam is ESTP, Ori is ENFP [PROBABLY a 7], Alana is ISFP [lol - Alana and Andy boggled], Lala is ISTP.

Keep in mind these are subject to changing when I learn them better.

TWC MCs: Surprisngly, I havent done this for them. Come back in a week or so? LMAO.

I discovered so many cool ifs thanks to your blog. I must say your taste in characters and stories is exquisite. Do you have a certain type of favourite ROs as in are there some romance tropes that you always go for? I'm a sucker for the emotionally unavailable ROs, so Orion and August have me in a chokehold rn. I'm honestly having so much infamous brainrot after reading that amazing demo. Do you prefer gender-selectable or gender-locked ROs? I personally don't mind either way as long as they're well written and portrayed. And you're so right we need more NB/Trans ROs for sure! Specially more that are POCs! <3

Oh, anon you don't know how much this makes me SMILE! Not so much about my tastes (though I'm smiling on that too, you flatterer :-P) but because of the IFs. I think Interactive Fiction is such a delightful medium with SUCH potential, and I love trying to stuff it into more people's faces.

Oh, man. I've actually been thinking of this -- because I once semi-jokingly said/had the thought that I always go for the characters of color [that's not TRUE, but I feel like I'm more inclined to give them a chance regardless of trope as long as I find the character intriguing enough] because I want to make sure they get love. So, I feel like I haven't really been looking at games/stories through tropes of late -- because IFs haven't yet reach a place where I'm afforded that? I don't know if I'm making sense.

BUT this question definitely took me back, lmao. And it is going to expose why TWC will always be on my neck, as well as that I am a LITTLE bit of a liar (because thinking on this made me realize though I may try and be broad with my interests to support characters of color, my subconious is a clown and likes what it likes werew lmao).

TL;DR I do love the stoic ones. I do love the ones that seem indifferent and/or cold or just So Serious and Don't Have Time For Your Tomfoolery but also have a sense of humor, a sense of justice/loyalty, and can get super soft/flustered for MC (but not just mc but their loved ones:

They don't need to have a dark past but I'm not against it. They're still KIND despite all they've gone through. Their hearts are just so BIG. And if you throw in a bit of friends to lovers? I'M THERE.

I think Victoria might fit here, but more of a hardened shell version (which I wanted to add I feel this type has a lot of subcategories that I also enjoy). A more defiant version, a version who is less impulsive, more in control? idk what im saying. Which I'd also put Ayame from A6 here.

I feel Kiran from Unseelie will fit this.

Those are clear off the top of my head but there are other ones I like. I love characters that have poise but also are cunning (I think A from ATOC would fit here if you need an example; Sabir from the Exile, Straasa from TSSW, Leonie from Reaper's Bay .... that theyre all black is a coincidence -- one I JUST realized wqere lmao), I love childhood friends to lovers as I stated, I love enemies to reluctant allies to friends to lovers, I love second chance romances (or reunited friends that turn to romance). I'm blanking at personalties, right now. I'm sorry.

Oh, negl. Sometimes I go for the 'fuck everyone but you' Villain. I like it when the powerful "bad" guy (gn) is obssessed with MC. Like, not an RO but for an example Falk. Or an actual RO Manerkol from The Soul Stone Wars. Krios from Dying Stars.

Sometimes, but not always, I go for the hopelessly devoted and utterly loyal to MC bodyguard sort like Kai from Reaper's Bay. Devoted and protective does usually get my pitter patter - like John from Made Marian, but like I said not always. Especially if OVERPROTECTIVENESS can be a point of discussion between the pair (ie mc and the ro).

There are other stuff but i am blanking right now.

As for gender, I don't care generally -- but I do tend to shy away if there isn't an NB option when they're gender selectable, and if there isn't I want at LEAST ONE NB ro (more than one) that isn't gender selectable. I like it better tho when it's all gender selectable or like two are gender selectable and the rest are set genders but evenly so.

and yes that SPECIFICNESS -- you make a point I hadn't even thought of: DEFINITELY need more trans/nb options, PERIOD, but please writers and artists should consider having them of color as well!!

I would love to hear some insight on what your oc creation process looks like. They're so detailed. I love all of the ones I've read about so far and they're all so fleshed out! I just use the same three ocs and slightly change their backstory lmao. You're so good at coming up with the character designs, theyre all chefs kiss. 🤩🤌

Ten days later and I still don't have a response for you anon. After I got over the SHOCK of this wonderfully beautiful compliment, I have been fluctuated between being stuck at work and pondering an answer to this. And I don't think I have a good enough answer for you. Nothing wise or cohesive.

However, leaving that at that doesn't suffice. So, I'm going to try.

I think I've mentioned on here that in the past, I used to use things like zodiac, MBTI, and Enneagram as a baseline. Especially when I first started (actually when I first started, I created self-inserts and let them run wild but that was there early on), I would look at the traits of their Sun Sign (then I discovered moon and rising signs too and added those as well) then apply them to my OC. But it wasn't just from one website, I'd scourge different sites and read the summaries too. I started with the stereotypes and then began reading forums for the people who believed in zodiac but didn't fit fully what they were born under. I researched characters that were born under the sign as my own, and compared and contrasted. (I did the same when I was into MBTI and Enneagram, which allowed for more variation from the norm.)

I complied docs and lists. I took quizzes, etc. I was way too serious about it. But certainly opened me to a lot of adjectives for descriptors as well as the perspective of how people viewed themselves/viewed others, I think.

Another thing I did is I would take bits and pieces of my favorite (and not so favorite) characters and just .... cannabilize them. LOL. For a lack of better word. Make my Frankenstein. This tends to help me a lot when I struggle with 'voice'. Particularly if the character is one from a show or film or podcast. Because for me, at least, it helps me visualize cadence.

Once you have character traits, interests, etc knocked out, I also feel it's important to consider background and desire. Where are they from? Where is their family from? Where have they been? Where are they going? And, of course, what do they want? That last isn't always easy but even the most vague idea or simpliest of goals as well as themes can be helpful.

Kendis: To go to X-TOWN to find out what their brother is up to; to be independent, to become a doctor.

Mason: To head back home.

Andy: To protect and observe.

These are three (of a few) characters that I played in an RP. The details of the goal both specifically to them and the game helped in guiding which character I focused more on (lmao Kendis), but each character's desires gained them plot and gave me something something to fall back on when I felt stuck on what to do with them.

I'm sure there is more stuff but I'm tired. lol. The brain wanes.

I just wanted to say your characters are probably more fleshed out than you give yourself credit. Goodness knows I don't see my babies as "detailed" (so thanks again for continously making my day with that). But I think one of the best ways to make them grow - outside of tinkering on their personality - is to PUT THEM IN SITUATIONS! Whether it's in rp, an if, or headcanons. Challenge them -- see how they are when they're at ease, see how they when they're angry, see how the are when there are stakes, etc.

I bet you'll surprise yourself with what you come up with and what comes out on the other side! Hope this helps <3

What kind of references do you provide for your kendis commissions? They always came out so well!

Everything under the sun!

In short: Picrews/meikers, the pinboard/moodboards, and the fc. And any other detail they might desire.

The first gives a look (as well as the fc) and the second gives hints on personality.

Then we work from there. I usually ask friend's who know the character second opinion -- like ask them to read over summaries I write about description on character's (not just Kendis') appearances/expressions/style etc, to ensure I didn't miss anything and if what I wrote was clear. Sometimes, they also help my indecisive self pick things when the artists gives me options.

I also think knowing the character helps. I feel I have a clearer vision for Kendis (and I probably would if I did an Andy one) commissions becausee their personality and style is [USUALLY, lmao] clear to me -- but even if you don't have years on your IC (like I would with them), fiddling with their look and personality helps a LOT and helps guide you. Like for example for my Lala request their look was clearer for me vs my Xhyera request where I know her personality/demeanor better than her style.

And dont be afraid to put a lot of detail! And to say what you do or don't (nicely please!!) like during the sketch part. It is rare that I have found an artist that did not give me a part of their process where I can state what I wanted to change -- actually I don't believe I have; even when I'm not part of the process step by step (mostly), they always ask me my input at some point.
