6. My least favorite ship of them

Oh gosh, I'mma get murdered for this, so I'll just say, canon end game. I used to be a hard core fan but just fell out of love with the ship in s5. Power to those who ship it though! Nut I guess my real least favourite ship would be something wild like, Emma x King George. That would certainly be something!

11. What’s the first thing you think about when thinking about the character?

I'm not 100 percent sure what it usually is, but right now it's an aesthetic board with swans, hot cocoa with cinnamon and white wooly jumpers.

15. Worst storyline they had

I did not enjoy the Dark Swan storyline at all. I couldn't wait for it to finish. I could never have abandoned the show (I love it way too much!) but I remember feeling sad about the possibility of it never bringing me as much joy as it did pre-s5. Luckily, although my second least favourite season, I like season 6 well enough and loved s7!

I was really looking forward to all that Emma could becoming the dark one could entail since the s4 finale. All the potential! I think I'm a rare viewer who did not like the Camelot aesthetic at all. The Camelot characters weren't too memorable to me.

l thought the first episode of the first arc was quite promising. I liked the psychological stuff going on with Emma, but she was so stoic in full Dark One mode that we didn't get to witness or understand her turmoil in present-day SB.

But the thing I found most disappointing was honestly her costume. I just couldn't take her seriously or accept her as a genuine threat with that hair and outfit. I saw so many post s4-finale Dark Swan fanart designs that looked so cool! She could have gone full on dark swan fairytale princess, or if she didn't wanna wear a dress, maybe a darker version of her heroes & villains au costume. I've just finished rewatching 5a and I honestly feel that I would have liked the arc so much more if her Dark One design was cooler, which is pretty wild to think about.

I feel like I saw an Emma x Grumpy once

25. When do you think they acted the most ooc

I know not everyone feels this way but to me it was post s4. I guess it's hard to say she was ooc as the dark one, as she was possessed by another entity and I think I'd act different then too. And then after she was free of the Dark One, I guess I could chalk it up to trauma. But I did miss how she used to be. To me she felt like a very different character. But I do feel like she felt more like herself when she returned for s7. More full of life. So yeah, very much could have been trauma, when I think about it.

I also have a theory that in the same way Lily said that her whole life is darkness and she's wired for bad decision making unless Emma's around, I feel the opposite is true for Emma. So I think maybe Lily's presence in SB inadvertently filled Emma's life with darkness and led to some bad luck. Still love Lily though! They should have asked her if she wanted the serum to separate her from Emma's darkness. Maybe then things would be better for both Emma and Lily. Maybe the reason Emma arguably didn't do anything super heinous as the Dark One was because her full potential for darkness was put into Lily. Maybe she just couldn't even if she tried.

Where You Post: AO3 and Tumblr.

Most Popular One-Shot: On Tumblr it has to be Perseverance, a characterization of (my) Lavellan post-Inquisition and pre-Trespasser. On AO3 it is The Dread Wolf Took Her, one of my first pieces of writing ever (which is likely why it has as many hits as it does, it’s over three years old!). In retrospect, I’m not thrilled about a lot of my older works, but I haven’t (yet) given into the urge to delete them.

Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: A Whole New World, no contest. Nothing else I’ve written before or after it has garnered as much attention (both negative and positive) as it has.

Favorite Story You Wrote: This feels a little like blowing my own horn, but there are a few stories that I’m particularly proud of. What could have been, a look into an alternate universe where Solas and Lavellan are together and nothing bad has occured. Still, looking into the mind of (my) Lavellan post-Trespasser, and her feelings about Solas. Resurrection, an entirely experimental piece set in a world post Veil-fall, which was supposed to go one way but ended up entirely in a different direction. I’m also particularly fond of my DAI: NPC ficlets where I get to expand on the backstories of the different NPCs in the Inquisition world, and their experience with the Inquisition/Herald of Andraste.

Story You Were Nervous To Post: Honestly, every one of them. There are a few I haven’t published because I’m still too nervous. And lately I’ve been hesitant about updating some of my long-fics because of the negative attention I’ve been getting. It’s hard putting stories out there for everyone to read!

How You Choose Your Titles: This is the HARDEST. I always save titles for the last, and it’s a struggle. The few times I have a title before a story, the story doesn’t get written. It’s a very, very rare thing where I have a title first AND a story.

Complete: A lot of shorter drabbles. I’ve also completed (for now, anyway) Farmer’s Market Solas (a collection of NSFW Solavellan drabbles), Resurrection (which was supposed to be a multi-chapter story but I couldn’t figure out how to break it, gave up and posted it as a one-shot) and more recently, The Inquisition Job.

Incomplete: Gosh, so many. I have a Bakery AU I’m in the middle of writing. There’s also a partially-written MGiT story that I still have to iron out some details on, as well as a Mass Effect time-travel fix-it story that I’m 30 chapters into. I’m also eager to re-write A Rogue’s Finesse, which is the trials of a clumsy Inquisitor that I started years ago and never got around to finishing.

Do You Outline?: I wasn’t in the habit before, but I am now. I usually have a start, an end, and several key events I want to happen, and then I try to break it up into manageable chapters because I’m not going to write a 100+ chapter fic ever again.

Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: I’ve got a chapter outline for a Modern Thief AU for Zevran and Tabris, a plot outline for an Arlathan AU. I have an idea for a Shepard/Kaidan/Thane story tentatively titled Chasing The Light that I still haven’t decided the ending for.

Do You Accept Prompts?: Yes, but it does take me a while to get to them. I don’t think I have all that many in my inbox, actually - I don’t get many prompts these days.

Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited To Write: It changes from week to week, but for the moment it’s the Bakery AU. It’s the first truly alternate universe, non-canon story I’ve attempted, and it’s challenging (and scary!) but it’s fun getting to include characters I wouldn’t otherwise be able to.

June Weddings Fic Recs - June 15, 2019

Below you will see many a rec that relates to this week’s theme, weddings. Represented are a variety of fics (mostly ironstrange) and they all feature Tony in some capacity, because I am weak :) Let’s put the spot light on some wonderful fan creators! I love it. Just give it a read. Canon has been thrown to the wind and it’s the happy hysterical pre-wedding that we deserved.

Love of my life by Moonwanderer Stephen/Tony - 270 words - 1 chapter - complete - G - Short and sweet, exactly what is says on the tin. Wedding dance.

That’s My Fate by Riverthunder - Tony/Stephen - 2,011 words - 1 Chapter - Complete - T - So,,, I figure with the Good Omens love happening, who doesn’t want to read some angel Stephen? This is a fun read, complex, hurts at the end, and does involve a major character death, so just be forewarned.

Out Of Your League by fangirl6202 - Bruce/Thor - 14,213 words - 6 Chapters - Complete - G - Oh my gosh, I loved this fic so much! It’s Bruce/Thor with background Stephen/Tony wedding. Bruce is insecure and sweet, there’s just the right touch of angst and it’s long enough that it has good pay off without dragging out. It’s perfect! Bruce is quirky and Thor is a sweet heart.

invite me into your heart by turtle_abyss - Stephen/Tony - 4,358 words - 1 Chapter - Complete - G - Oh this is a fun read! Stephen and Tony interacting is always a fun read, but Stephen and Tony coming to weddings they were invited to just because they’re famous, constantly meeting and growing fond of each other? So sweet! And don’t forget, something always goes wrong.

Vows by notjustmom - Stephen/Tony - 429 words - 1 Chapter - Complete - NR - Stephen and Tony’s wedding vows!!! Come on, you’ve read @notjustamumj’s stuff, you know it’s gonna be good! <3

United in Body and Soul by babywarg (morphaileffect) - Stephen/Tony - 3,079 words - 1 chapter - Complete - T - So, aliens and interdimensional beings are attending Tony’s wedding, Stephen is kind of possessive, and they have a really great wedding. This was a really moving read and we should all bow at @babywarg’s feet.

here we go again by tonystanktableforone - Multi-Ship for Tony Endgame Steve/Tony - 2,683 words - 4 chapters - In Progress - NR - Mama mia AU. So, this work hasn’t been updated in some months, but it’s still a fun read. Featuring scheming Peter, multi exes and a background peter marriage.

Your hand in mine by MassiveSpaceWren, Shi_Toyu, swanshapedearlyworm - Bucky/Tony - 14,874 words - 1 chapter - Complete - T - It’s so good I can’t explain. Just read the summary, copypasted here: “Prince Anthony Stark is invited to King Steven Rogers' castle to discuss a peace treaty between their kingdoms. Sir James Barnes, the king's first knight, is sent as guard and guide to the visiting prince. Keeping the prince safe with both hidden and open threats on the rise proves quite difficult. Still, not as difficult as Bucky watching the prince he fell in love with marry another.”

Because That’s What Brothers Do by NamelesslyNightlock - Loki/Tony - 4,278 words - 1 chapter - Complete - T - This fic is sweet and the portrayal of Tony is really fun, and just a tad different from what we usually see in the IronStrange fandom. Also, Thor is a good brother, even if his methods are unorthodox and Loki is protective. Super cute!

A Strange Place Called Home by TheLadyStrange - M’Baku/Stephen - 51,279 words - 24 chapters - Complete - M - Okay, this is amazing, and TheLadyStrange does this rarepair so well and really makes you believe in why you should ship them. The Stephen angst is high, it’s a soulmate AU, and everyone lives nobody dies! The lead up to and eventual wedding of Stephen Strange to M’Baku is so soothing and painful! Ahhhh!! Listen, this is one of my favorite long fics and it is for a rare pair that I will probably never see again. You have to read it. I bet you.

Ship Asks: What's your favourite headcannon for Hicsqueak? Favourite AU ideas for them, AND...what kind of dates do you think they would go on? I'm sorryyyy I'm pretty much obsessed with Hicsqueak right now and I NEED to know your thoughts on this!

Ooooh, oh my gosh. Yes. You know I will talk about HicSqueak at ANYTIME.

Fav Head Canon: I love the idea that Pippa thought HB left her because she thought Pippa was silly/pink/foolish. Even though it was quiet the opposite. But with HB’s true motives hidden, Pippa could only think that it’s because *she* was’t good enough - that HB’s so brilliant and talented that she doesn’t need someone like Pippa distracting her with picnics, and broomstick tournaments, and late nights where they stay up until the moon is setting just talking. Even thought that’s totally ridiculous because Pippa can do it all - it could be debated that she’s just as smart as Hecate - in fact she makes almost as good marks even though she puts a fraction of the work into her studies. And uses her extra time to gallivant a bit more (which makes her feel more ashamed after because maybe if she’d just been more serious HB would have liked her more). But because they’re both fools, it actually just made Hecate fall even harder for her. God, look at these sweet disaster babies. Dates: Ok, this fandom is high key hive mind here because there are DEF lots of picnics, and star gazing, and rainy days in the bathtub, and heading to exotic/beautiful/dangerous places just to pick a rare potions ingredients (they totally get off on nerding out about powerful rare creatures and herbs, always trying to impress the other one). I’m writing a fic right now where, I guess you could say it’s a date, but it’s one of my fav scenes I’ve ever written and I can’t wait to share it (ok YES it is a picnic, but, like that’s just how it is in this fandom). I also have a fic in the works where Pippa takes Hecate on the river in a rowboat for a weekend trip. Hecate is very unaware that it’s a date but Pippa is no dummy. I love the idea of Pippa constantly dating Hecate and Hecate is like “I’m so glad I have my FRIEND back, wow, gee, isn’t she gorgeous” (cue pinning). I actually have to say that I’m really into the pre-relationship build up so date-dates are hard for me to come up with. I’m all about that sweet, sweet, ust.

AUs: I take can’t take credit…someone (tell me who you are and then WRITE IT) once posted something about an idea for an Hicsqueak fic where one of them runs an orphanage and it sounded AMAZING. I wouldn’t say “actively dislike” butthe toxicity of fandom on this website has sucked away most of my passion for Voltron lol. I used to really dig itthe first month or so after getting really into it when S2 aired. I still havean unfinished draft for a 7-parter rarepair fic //ey guess my fav duo ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)// sitting in my folders. don’t think I’llbe touching it any time soon though. im rather burnt out from this fandom, evenif I do still enjoy watching all the new seasons thereafter.

another is StevenUniverse ah a. (but in its and my defence, I wasn’t really into it anywaysas compared to other fandoms. the songs are still good, but I haven’t beenkeeping up with the newer Steven bombs, one part because of motivation, andanother because the thought of going into the tags to reblog contentintimidates the heck out of me pffft)

Vampire/Selkie AU ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

a selkie whose skin gets stolen and hidden from a human man is forced to become his bride and taken back to his village. there, to escape the stares of bigoted villagers and the clutches of her overbearing and possessive husband, she takes refuge in the only place he would not go; the old holy church.

only, she finds she isn’t the first to occupy this place of solitude. the master of the church notices her soon enough, and when vampire recognises the ancient weave of magic that flows within her, he appears; intrigued for something other than a fresh meal.

(basically a deviation from the standard vampire (romance-ish) novels lolol plot bunny hit me pre-Christmas eve dinner/yesterday and sofar im digging it. still planning the ship and fandom though; it might very easily be OC-based)

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons thatyou will die defending?

Not really. I’m a very flexible person when it comes tointerpretable lore and content, especially if it’s the type of HCs that thefandom collectively comes up with. Unless it’s a canon fact, I like to dabble orjust stay away from HCs in general. If I have to come up with some in my fics,then so be it. But most of the time these HCs are either super vague or onlyapply to the context in this particular piece or series of writing. Basically Idon’t mind switching HCs for charas frequently as long as it does notfundamentally change their own character. (HCs for hobbies and loves and habitsand relationships apart from their inner circle, etc. are all fine)

Honestly it just boils down to expectations lol I know myown limits, and I know not to be disappointed when canon updates end updebunking (popular) fandom HCs or my own.

Not about how much his clothes cost, if he went to college, the type of beer he drinks, and who he loves. Which means of course he’s punk, through and through. This comes through from old-school punk, like the Ramones, and through more modern groups like Palma Violets, Arctic Monkeys, and (1/?)

FIDLAR, his choice of pre-gaming music. He’s the cultural heir to the Beastie Boys and Nirvana and he’s proud of it. Jamie T’s songs feel like they fit that particular sentiment, with the chorus of “Sticks n Stones” REALLY summing up Lieb: “When there’s no one left to fight/Boys like him don’t shine so bright/Soon as I see the dust settle/He’s out on the town tryin’ to find trouble”.Wavves and FIDLAR (two of my favorite bands) bring in the SoCal element to Lieb. I feel like even though in (2/?)

canon he’s so damn proud of being from there, in a modern AU, he’d constantly be trying to distance himself from the general hippie reputation in favor for the grittiness of NorCal or even claiming New York (“Well, Web’s from there, and I lived with him before we came out here, so really, I am a New Yorker. And the Ramones would’ve loved me, so fuck off.”). Toye: Much like how Ron and Lip are Joy Division and New Order, the Joes are the Ramones and the Clash or the Damned: same genre, same (3/?)

Joe definitely is more in touch with his emotions outside of pissed off than Lieb, and he doesn’t really care as much about his reputation as long as he’s not publicly considered weak or soft, which leads into what I (lovingly) refer to as “1980s emo”. into 90s and 2000s alt in terms of his reactions and how he conducts himself, so I think Tame Impala, Pixies, and The Strokes fit him well in that area. They rep his outer reputation to people. But he’s a softie and as much as he denies it, he’s the guy who lays in bed and listens to mostly sad or apathetic music for a few days after a break up, then gets mad and makes himself get over it. firstly; you’re absolutely right. lieb doesn’t give a shit about ANY of that- like he isn’t a very materialistic person at all, more concerned with collecting experience than he is with collecting actual things (aside from records, which i think perhaps he’d have a lot of- it ties in with the Web/Brooklyn Baby thing too because he’d be in awe of Web’s record collection and all of his rare finds and he genuinely does think Web is cooler than him because of that) (okay maybe not QUITE cooler than him but, yknow, close ahah).

i actually have a whole document i did one night on why jamie t and joseph liebgott are the same person (which in retrospect would have been better as a powerpoint presentation tbh), but yeah, i think sticks and stones sums him up particularly well in that respect. it’s not even that he’s necessarily always seeking to fight, just that there is nothing else to do but fight. the kids i work with have a grand total of zero things to do at lunchtimes so they just fight for fun, which i think is something that comes with lieb quite a lot- and, presumably, jamie t. both of them have grown a lot though, and i think that becomes evident through music moreso than anything else. take sticks and stones and compare it to trouble, is what i think i mean?? idk im rambling here definitely but!! i hope you get what i mean kind of haha

ALSO i love FIDLAR and im always shook when i meet other people who do too so like!! that’s fucking awesome. and also that’s an interesting take on lieb actually! i wanted to include things to do with california because i knew his home state kind of played a big part in shaping his identity, but im afraid i was less aware of the north/south divide in terms of culturey things so!! learning that was cool, and yeah i could absolutely see him as claiming new yorker status on behalf of web omg!
