yknow. after thinking about it for a while . i think i just had a fundamentally different idea of who aziraphale is as a character and thats why i didnt like most of the choices that were made for his character in season two. season one was such a fantastic adaptation of the book with such brilliant additions to the plot and story of crowley n aziraphale in general (and im also a big fan of crowley/aziraphale being like an unspoken agreement between the two, where nothing much changes and they naturally come together in a romantic way) that i went in with higher expectations and less appreciation for any deviance from who they are in the book. i never saw aziraphale as someone who would be ashamed of his sexuality or needing time to come to terms w it but looking back at season one i can definitely see where the seeds were sewn and how it does, regrettably, make sense that he would act Like That in season two. im just.. well. im a book fan. and im so used to gaybaiting i wasnt prepared for gayreal and the conflict in that direction
