USEFUL LINKS: Submissions spreadsheet (gigantic list of every band submission we've received. Song submissions are on the second tab. If this does not load on your device, you can view a plaintext archive here.) Song submissions form (Suggest a noteworthy song for a band that's already been submitted but not yet posted. First-come first-serve. These are linked in a readmore under the band's poll.)

⏭ Y'all made a mistake! / How do I get in touch? Please scroll to read the whole FAQ first. If your question has not already been answered, then send an ask. We don't respond to most asks publicly, but we do read them all. We do not often check replies or mentions. Do NOT send band suggestions via the askbox, it is for correspondence only. (If the question/comment concerns a specific post, you can also ping me @estradasphere in a reply, but asks are preferred)

───♫───────────── ⏭ Why was this poll tagged with [x]? Genres are usually from the artist's RateYourMusic page, if they have one. Country tags are also from RYM - we tag both formed/birth location and disbanded/death location. As for decades, we do not usually tag all decades a band was active for, just a few that contain their most popular output. If we get any of these wrong, please send an ask!

───♫───────────── ⏭ Why was this album art used? If the artist has an RYM page, the album art we use is of their most-rated album on there. If they don't, we use Spotify or Bandcamp or other sources. We tend to avoid album art that depicts potentially triggering subjects.

───♫───────────── ⏭ This artist is morally reprehensible! We do not endorse or support any artists posted here. We're asking if you've heard them, not if you like them - and doing a background check on every submission is infeasible. You are free to warn others via reply, reblog, etc. That being said, we may reject submissions at our own discretion.

───♫───────────── ⏭ Can you add a "yes, unfortunately" option? No, and we don't think this is the best perspective to have. Every band is someone's favorite! We are not intent on changing the three options we have now.

───♫───────────── ⏭ Can you post more/less of [x] genre? We run entirely off of submissions, and go through those mostly in chronological order. We do not control which bands get submitted. That being said, we do try to space out polls in the queue if there's a lot of submissions of the same genre/vibe in a row.

───♫───────────── ⏭ When will band submissions reopen? If/when we get through the bulk of the current submissions. Our backlog is so massive that this may not happen until 2026 (at the latest) though. Sorry!

───♫───────────── ⏭ When will my submission be posted? You can check our progress by looking at the submissions spreadsheet. Finished submissions are the ones highlighted turquoise. Keep in mind that we post once per hour, and you can probably estimate the date from there.

───♫───────────── ⏭ Why didn't my submissions post in the order I submitted them? We rearrange the queue if there's a lot of bands of the same genre/vibe submitted in a row. Or for no reason.

───♫───────────── ⏭ Why didn't my submission get posted at all? A few reasons this could happen:

Your band is still in the queue, just not in order (see the question above this one)

Your band has been submitted before (search the blog or the data sheet for them)

Your band is so obscure we couldn't find album art or genre info for them

We genuinely made a mistake: thought we did them already, or accidentally skipped them, etc.

Feel free to submit them again (though, if possible, please first search the suggestions spreadsheet to make sure nobody else has submitted them again already). If you're positive your submission got skipped, you can also send an off-anon ask or DM a mod, and we'll post a poll for them ASAP if the submission is valid. Accidents happen.

───♫───────────── ⏭ How do I suggest songs for multiple-artist submissions? See here and here.

───♫───────────── ⏭ What's the policy on vulgar/offensive band names or album art? Generally OK, but it'll be decided at our own discretion. In the case of album art, we try to find one of the artist's other works at around the same popularity, and if we can't, we'll trigger tag it.

───♫───────────── ⏭ Why don't you tag polls with the band names? Tagging it would put the post in the lap of every fan who follows or searches for the tag. For popular bands, we feel this would skew the results too much.

───♫───────────── ⏭ Can you trigger tag [x]? We currently tag common triggers like gore, nudity, body horror, and suicide (as "#____ tw"); if we missed a post with one of those, please let us know! As for implementing new trigger tags, sorry, we have enough on our plate at the moment and probably wouldn't remember it. We recommend using Xkit Rewritten's post block feature and/or Tumblr's built-in tag/content filtering.

───♫───────────── ⏭ Have y'all considered increasing the post speed to more than 1 per hour? We don't really want to, sorry! Making 24 posts per day to keep pace is enough work for us already, haha.

───♫───────────── ⏭ How many posts are in the queue? It's maintained at around 150-250.

───♫───────────── ⏭ Do y'all want/need another mod? Not right now. If we ever do, we'll make a post for it.

wrist update

felt i should probably make another one of these since ive slowly been trying to do more drawing again.

long and short of it is my wrists arent 100% yet, i still have to take more breaks than usual (though my usual was none before so thats probably an improvement) and sometimes i have to just stop halfway through because my hands decide they hate me for the next 3 hours.also pretty consistently left with some minor aches if i go on just a tad too long.

ill probably try to post some art again every now and then (mostly over rendered doodles) but i probably wont be picking commissions back up until im absolutely certain i can manage longer hours consistently again. both because i just dont think i can right now and because i tend to feel bad for posting other things sometimes, even if i cant work properly at present.

as ive said before, i know ive left people hanging for quite a while so if you dont want to commission me anymore when i get to you thats 100% ok.

in the meantime the queue is still closed as i dont want to end up with an even bigger backlog.

It’s been a hot minute, hasn’t it? This time, I come bearing actually good news!

Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone for their patience during this hiatus, and welcome all the new people! It always surprises me when the blog still gets notes and follows, even though it’s inactive. I have to say, though, the hiatus was completely necessary. College takes a lot out of me (who would’ve guessed), and I can’t imagine keeping up with comic uploads during it (more on that later), and while it hurts that I haven’t been able to continue my passion project while I study, I’ve made a lot of genuine improvements to my art and I hope that’ll show with the pages that’ll release shortly (and maybe with some projects I do in the future, ooo).

Oh, yeah, pages will be releasing again! When summer break started, I also slowly started chipping away at the comic again, but didn’t want to start uploading again until I had some pages ready a-la backlog in case of emergencies and blah blah, if you’ve read my announcement posts before, you know the story. The problem is, I glanced at my calendar the other day, and realised I REALLY don’t have that much time to spend dicking around and bouncing between projects willy-nilly, not if I want Dread Not Act 1 to actually wrap up soon. Which, I really do, because… there’s 3 other Acts after it.

I already have 2 pages ready to go, so the new upload schedule is as follows: This Saturday (8.) I’ll release one of the ready pages, then I’ll release the next on Tuesday (11.), and from the Saturday after that (15.) and on, I’ll be releasing pages weekly again. Yes, weekly, not with an extra week gap between them. This may prove catastrophic, BUT if my calculations are right (even though I’m bad at math), Act 1 should wrap up completely by the end of October.

The last page(s) SHOULD release on the 21st of October, if I don’t fuck something up royally. And that absolutely can happen, and I suspect it will, because October is when college starts, and if ya’ll remember oct. of 2022, you’ll know I absolutely DIED in October and handled absolutely none of the schedule well. I hope I’ll be better prepared this time though, and it’s a risk I’m willing to take to finally see this through to the end. BUT! Absolutely don’t be surprised if the last few pages end up having longer breaks between uploading them (even though I would HATE that for the comic’s pacing), because school just be like that and I can’t help it, for the most part.

🎉 Guess who's finally done with exams 🎉

And with that, I'm out of hiatus! Thank you all for being patient. Regular blogging will resume shortly, but first, I'd like to do some housekeeping (ie. respond to messages, queue my backlog). In the meantime, this post intends to lay down my plans moving forward and what to expect from this blog.

1. I'm becoming an OC artist again!

Long before I joined Tumblr, I was an OC artist. I've always loved creating characters and stories to go along with them, and I'm happy to say I'm going back to that!

During the hiatus, I've been cooking up a project in which a history teacher stumbles across a genie, and they enlist her help to not just fulfill their wish to become a puppet but also help them face the terrors of teaching high schoolers for the first time. This may sound familiar to fans of a certain show… it is inspired by PH, but rest assured, this project deviates so far from it that it’s basically its own thing now :}

More details to be revealed in the future~ For now, here's a sneak peek!

2. Puppet History Perhaps...?

I've said it time and time again: despite everything that happened last month, I still have a deep love for this show. Try as I might, I can't push that love out of me. I don't want to force myself to not express that love through my art and my fics.

That being said: I will not be interacting with the fandom. The most I will do is post art + fics—even then, that's currently tentative—and respond to comments on my posts, so do not expect me to be mentioning Watcher or their fans beyond Puppet History. If I do reblog from a Watcher fan, they're likely already a mutual of mine.

Here are some doodles of ideas that I may or may not flesh out in the future. If I don’t develop these, at the very least they’re kinda out there.

3. Hey I have other interests too

Other than the above, I'll post and draw about other things! For example, as of making this post, I've been really into Chappell Roan, and I'm gearing up to watch Fraggle Rock this summer holiday. Yes I'm still in the Les Mis fandom, but I'm kinda done with fandom at the moment, so I'm just gonna be chilling in my own corner. In general, I'll stick to just posting about whatever I want like I've done in the past.

Alondra, thank you for always supporting me through my college journey this last year!! I can’t believe that I’m graduating, and to be honest there’s been a lot of crying I’ve been doing about it (maybe happy tears?!) 😭 but it means so much to me that through it all, you have been there to support me whenever I brought it up in our conversations! ❤️❤️ After this I’ll finally have the time to truly catch up on everything I missed and talk to you more too!! 1) SPRIIIING honestly first year in a long time that feels like we're actually getting some spring weather, not just winter: extended edition and i couldn't be happier! love seeing fresh baby grass. some flowers. the long long daylight hours… i feel much more awake and alert all of a sudden lmao

2) drawing!! i spent years and years thinking i will never get to say that again, but here we are! drawing is great and brings so much joy to my day

3) semi-related to that, everyone's sweet and kind tags on my art. people have always been nice to me, but lately i feel like i'm always screencapping one thing or another for my treasure trove of nice comments 🥰

4) seeing other people share their works and enjoying what they do! i was going through the backlog of untagged stuff in my queue this evening and honestly it got me so emotional, i'm so glad people enjoy their lil guys, and make stuff for them and put them up for everyone to see… amazing, i love the internet.

5) my very own lil guy dkjfshf, idk. that post about sometimes having to be mentally ill about a character to get better, but instead of them being proud of me or whatever, it's trying to understand someone who thinks the world is good and inadvertently starting to find little joys around me. terribly embarrassing. but also. nice.

Hi and welcome to a huge backlog of sketches and concept art I’ve have on the computer for awhile that I decided to finally post in one big sketch dump.

So I have fun little thing known as Court of the King where each of the protagonists get to interact with each other through magic reasons. In this said thing, most of the protagonists have grown up and some even have families. With all this in mind, let’s get on with explaining Fusion King Judai.

Judai at this point in his life has been able to move on from what happened during the events of GX. Took a bit of soul searching and therapy but he’s a lot happier now and is content with himself. So much so, he’s now actually teaching others how to duel at his own little set up known as the Duel Lodge. A place for others like him that are Duel Spirit sensitive or are kind of out casts. All are welcome at his humble abode.

Another thing he has worked out is his relationship with Yubel. The two are pretty chill with each other and are a pretty good team now. Yubel can even shift forms now at will. Comes in handy with not scaring people off, and blending in better. Bottom line, Yubel is more chill now and only really starts to get unhinged if you try to harm Judai or his family.

Speaking of, another thing Judai has got going for him is his family. After his long journey of soul searching, Judai returned to reunite with his friends to mend some fences... and with Asuka in particular, rekindle a relationship. Which eventually bloomed into a proper romance to eventually marrying her. Leading to them have their two sons, Kichiro Yuki and Raiden Yuki.

As far as Judai is concerned, his life going pretty good for him. He went through a lot but he wouldn’t have it any other way.

And that’s basically all there is to it for Fusion King. Now as for what we see here.

Concept art for his final draft and initial draft as Fusion King. First try I wasn’t too pleased with. Felt it wasn’t really flowing all the well design wise. So tried again and well, much happier with him having a longer coat. A nice blend of Supreme King and his old school jacket. Really wanted to show how he basically came to terms with everything.

Supreme King slight redesign. Nothing major just minor tweaks. Mainly changing the helmet design and re-arranging some of the spikes. Judai can actually take this form if he wishes but it’s rare that he does.

Asuka concept art. Blend of her look from ARC-V and her GX design. She’s a teacher at the academy so gotta look the part.

We got the Yuki boys, Kichiro and Raiden. Both are adorable and precious. Kichiro has his dad’s old jacket and wears it proudly. Raiden isn’t really looking to duel, he’s more into soccer so hence the soccer get up. He’s still a good boy.

Spooky, who is Kichiro’s Duel Spirit companion. He’s a spooky moth kuribo and he wants candy!

Yubel’s different forms. As stated above Yubel has chilled out so it has allowed some new abilities to come through. Especially for not scaring the boys. (Which Yubel is uber protect of.)

Judai, Yubel and Pharaoh while they were still traveling. (Back before I redesigned Judai so we have the old design of Fusion King.)

Johan, Cho and Hayato as adults. Johan also did some traveling like Judai but has since settled down and is a pro-duelist. (He has a family of his own to tend too.) Cho and Hayato both work for Industrial Illusion. Cho making model kits of monsters and Hayato being a lead artist of duel monster cards.

Line of the Yuki family all together, ages and heights included.

And to close out, a sweet little doodle of Judai holding a baby Kichiro.

hey, everyone, Cher here. I hope you all had a good New Year.

so... I’ve been away from this blog (and from tumblr as a whole really) for about five or so months, and I’ve been using that time to speak to friends/family about everything I’m going through, to think very hard about what direction I want to go in as an artist, and to have some much-needed alone time with my own work.

good news: this hiatus was significantly more productive than the last; on top of it being much longer, I’ve also drawn a lot more than I had during my 2020 hiatus. I don’t have a Huge Backlog of works, but I brought myself to be able to draw even without anyone (except those closest to me) to see it. so, for this reason and some others, I’m confident in saying that something was gained from my time off, and I feel that I am ready to return to the public now.

it’s probably going to take me a few more days to officially start posting art here again, and there Are going to be gaps in between art posts — some may be long, others may be very short — as I’ve come to terms with and accepted the fact that I currently do not have the same level of motivation or energy that I had five years ago due to my environment and living situation changing (and that this fact doesn’t make me a bad artist or a bad person). but there will be art; that, I can promise.

with that.... I'm happy to announce my return, and I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all of the engagement on my art while I was gone, for your understanding on my hiatus post, and for your continued support and kindness throughout the (almost) ten years I’ve been posting art here.

anon from /729836221023600640 here, half of the replies here truly proved my point. also no, it wasn't bait, and quite frankly it feels really cruel to assume it was bait just because of the timing of when the ask was published :( i sent the ask days before it was published, i think the askbox was backlogged (and i genuinely do not know the order of the festivals, i thought shadow was next bc shadow has a halloween vibe to me)

i sent in the rant because i run a private server that you can only join via getting invited by someone already in the server, with a rule that plague primals and things like meat dragons are asked to not be sent, but if you absolutely have to, like if you're selling them, or if you're participating in an art game chat, they need to be spoilered, i had someone send a long rant before leaving the server after being politely asked to spoiler a plague primal, i didn't give a wall of context at the time because it was a frustrated ask i sent to a salt blog before i went to bed that night

i RARELY have any issues on flight rising itself because of things like ublock blocking plague primal icons, and ublock blocking other things that might trigger my phobia, like the plague banners, it's only offsite that i have issues because it's harder to find solutions that don't rely on people having compassion for the people around them (much less the people who run the server?)

and when i DO encounter it on site, i'm usually mentally prepared to accidentally stumble upon it, i expected it to be on the site, and i'm prepared to deal with it with ublock! but my guard is down in a private server i run with rules meant to protect me, the owner of the server. i'm not prepared to power through it, it's unexpected

and this isn't the first time something like that has happened in a server to me! it's happened twice now! the first time i was upset but i brushed it off as a one-off asshole, but it happened again, and i was frustrated, so i sent an ask into here to blow off steam

i'm not going to stop playing a game because of a feature i can avoid fairly well on site? that's ridiculous. are you asking people with spider phobias to stop playing the game because of the spider vistas?

it's not up to people to curate my experience, that's true. but it IS up to people to listen to the rules of a discord server.

i'll end this by reiterating what i said in the original ask, it's not a personal attack against you or your dragons if someone has a phobia they cannot help.

Annual Update 2024

Alright everyone! New year, new updates for all my stuff!

Starting with ...

AtDFF and AYC

(The new signatures for my main art, AtDFF, and AYC)

As some, and by that I mean most of you have probably noticed, I rebooted AtDFF... again. I technically started a revamp all the way back in 2020 where I was redrawing the older updates to better match the current style and reformat the asks and text for better readability, but that didn't impede on the main updates (well, besides putting more onto mine and the rest of the team's work load.)

The Reboot

This past year though, I made the decision to completely reboot the comic for a few reasons. One was an attempt to renew my motivation, another was wanting to rework some of the lore, yet another was being inspired by @askfallenroyalty to remake the comic and post to ComicFury, but I think the main factor was... I wasn't all that happy with it. I think I kept comparing it to other comics, especially Fallen Royalty, which is my own issue, please don't go blaming anyone else. I knew I could do better, especially after over 5 years working on this, but now looking back, part of me feels that, rebooting it again is, in a way, diminishing those years. Even with the 2020 revamp, prior to it you could go through the updates and really look at how my art has progressed, and though true you can still scroll and find the old updates, it's just... not quite the same. Same can be said for the 2023 reboot.

Does that mean I'm going back on the reboot? No. I already have the next updates planned (I just haven't had a chance to work on them that often) and I really like the new lore of the world that I've come up with. I just think this will be the last time I ever reboot the comic. Whatever happens, happens, and I need to just roll with it. Even if what happens is our little roadtrip getting derailed into a corn field again, lol.

Comic Fury and New Comic?

With that said, what do I have in store for the new reboots of AtDFF and AYC? (yes AYC got rebooted too, I just haven't posted the first update like I did with AtDFF) Well, I mentioned a Comic Fury, which surprise. Both AtDFF and AYC have their own Comic Fury pages now! Don't worry, I still plan on posting to Tumblr as well, but now you can also find them on Comic Fury. Along with another comic I'm planning to do (eventually), Undertale-ish: The Comic. Ever wonder what Ish Frisk's journey through the Underground was like? Want to see what happened in most (not all) of their 800 runs? Want to see this child grapple with their self insecurities, perfectionism, and the responsibility of having full control over time and an entire civilization's lives in the palm of their hand? Want to see Chara as a ghost? Well that's what you'll get with Undertale-ish: The Comic! Coming I don't know since I such at scheduling and time management for these things!

Schedule

Speaking of scheduling! When are any of these comics coming out? Well... I just said I suck with schedules, and I can't promise really... anything when it comes to release but like... I know I for sure would like to release things... regularly? Even with the start of the reboot, I started it in April, and that stuff extended until at least August. Every summer I naively think "Oh! I'm gonna have so much time to work on the comic!" and then I get a summer job. Because I'm nearly 20 and going to college and even if I'm still living under my parent's roof, I can't entirely rely on my dad to pay my tuition. Only for half the year. Then during the school year, I have classes, and I feel burned out by the time I get home, and- It's a whole thing I need to find someway to work around or else nothing gets done and my brain just screams at itself. So, I think scheduling is something I'm gonna figure out throughout January, and try and get a backlog of updates ready throughout February to April or May so maybe we can start posting again in summer. Does that feel like a long wait? Even being near a year from the first update of the AtDFF reboot? Yes. But also I'm trying to over estimate and give myself the time and space I need while still attending college, and I wouldn't just be working on one comic update, but multiple. I'm trying to give myself space and some grace instead of making promises that feel hollow after a while of being unfufilled.

Lack of Motivation and How to Fix

Another thing to address, is my motivation when it comes to these series. I don't think it's accurate to say I've felt completely unmotivated to work on either comic, I mean, I was motivated for some of the beginning of last year to full on overhaul them, but I will say that, these comics have started to feel like a job. It's been something I've felt for a couple years now, where I've been having less fun with the comic as it's begun to feel like actual work. Believe me, I'm super excited for some of the later plot points of both AtDFF and AYC, and I love Undertale-ish and these characters but to get to those points or character moments, it feels like I'm slogging through what comes before it, which isn't good. This is something that sure, rebooting helped for a bit, before I got caught up in school and other stuff, but it's not a permanent solution and I've felt myself slipping back into the comic feeling like a job.

So how might I remedy this? Well, I think the solution might lie in another series I started this year, Drawing Junior Secret Squad until Chapter 3. Even if DJSSuC3 is more Deltarune focused, I've enjoyed drawing Chicago and my other fankids pretty much daily as, there's not that much pressure on it. Definitely not like there is with AtDFF or AYC. I don't have to line, or even color them since, they're just little doodles. I don't have to worry about missing a day since, I'll just do multiple the next day. They're quick, they're easy, I can just draw whatever idea I have with the characters I want, I'm having fun. Back when Ask the Dreemurr-Font Family was nothing but an ask chat on Amino, that's what I did it for. For fun. I wasn't worried with popularity or being like other creators, I just did silly little character driven roleplays for fun. I think that's been my issue with the comics. They aren't fun anymore. They're work because, I feel it's my job to tell this story rather than just... telling it because I want to. So, I think going forward, I'm gonna try to have more fun with the comics and Ish in general. For you all, that's probably gonna look like more sketches and doodles getting posted and maybe even just sharing small comics based off ideas that pop into my brain or from roleplays that happened in my server. Little things to help me regain the enjoyment I had with these comics and world.

Deltarune: Fool's Fate

I think that's all I've got to say on the Undertale based comics, so how about now we move onto something Deltarune related? As I was doing DJSSuC3, I introduced an idea called Deltarune: Fool's Fate. Aka, Chicago and Co's adventures through the Dark Worlds after Kris denied their destiny. So far, this has just been little doodles, character designs, and a roleplay I've been doing in my discord server. I've been having quite a bit of fun with that RP, we're nearly to the end of what would be the first "chapter" and have been fighting Dorothy, the secret boss of the Attic Dark World and who some of y'all might recall I made a real life doll of when my old computer finally kicked the bucket earlier this month. (I've still yet to make her dress or crown) I think roleplays have always been the thing I find the most enjoyable when it comes to character exploration as, I don't have to spend forever drawing comics and I get to sorta live through the characters. It's something I've been doing for characters from even before I was in this fandom. With the Fool's Fate roleplay too, I've also got to come up with elements that could feasibly be in an actual video game without, you know, actually coding a video game.

I don't know where Fool's Fate will go from here, while it'd be cool to have it be an actual fangame, I don't have that sort of skill. Nor the budget to pay a team. (My team for the comics is really just a bunch of friends I convinced to help me out for free.) Even with a sprite comic, it'd be too much. So, for now, it'll likely just remain a concept and roleplay. But, who knows. Maybe someday I could make it into something. I mean, after watching this year's Underevent I wanted to.

Other stuff

With all the UTDR stuff out of the way, what about some of my other stuff? (Because, surprise, Undertale and Deltarune aren't the ONLY things I do. Just the things I hyperfixate on the most.) Well, I've got my Fakemon region, Azmayca, POW-R, Dragon Riders, and Kinder Eyes which I started last summer. I don't really have any plans for them, asides from bugging people for ideas and doodling whenever I'm in the mood. However I think starting this year, I'm gonna try to post more of the doodles I make. Either ones in my sketchbook since DJSS gave me the confidence to post sketchy silly little doodles like that, or sketch doodles I draw digitally as warm ups. Though who knows. Maybe a hyperfixation swing some time during the summer will cause me to actually try to do something crazy like outline the whole Azmayca region and hypothetical game. Hopefully not something like that though. Making the evolutions of my redesigns of the starters might be nice.

Commissions

Another thing I'd like to finally do next year is update my commissions sheet. It's something I've had in the work for a while now, and was working on along side launching the comic updates. But, like the comics, school and work got in the way so... I sorta forgot about it. Regardless! I'm gonna try to post my updated sheet some time within the next few months, it's mostly just been havin to draw or find recent examples of my work. Hopefully then I'll actually get some more commissions because, um *looks at the whooping $3.94 in my checking account* I could really use the extra money. I might work during the summers and get grade payments from my dad but, that stuff is to pay my tuition and some of my lunches during the semester, and even with lunches, 500 dollars is spread thin through 17, 16 ish weeks. That's like, only $30 a week, which is maybe enough to cover buying lunch at the campus food court like, once or twice from the food court. Maybe three times if I'm lucky and conservative with my spending. Not to mention that $300 of that went to my new laptop, and even if I should be getting $300 from a paycheck I was never paid back when I worked at Arby's 3 summers ago, I still haven't gotten that gift card in the mail so... Yeah. If I was living on my own, I'd be screwed. Which is why commissions and Patreon are like, my only source of income during the school year. (I still need to look into getting an on campus job for this upcoming semester but that's its own whole big can of worms.)

Patreon

Speaking of Patreon, that's another goal I want to set. Actually posting to it again. I had a burst early last year were I was regularly posting to Patreon with early access chapters of The Puppet and the Real Boy (before I retconned that with Fool's Fate) and thanks to my only Patreon ever @kierangecko, I managed to make around $50 bucks which ended up being used to help get blanks for some of my Christmas gifts for people (thank you Gecko. I know I did stop posting after like, May, but that money really came in handy.) So for this next year, I'm gonna try to post to that again. Be it WIPs of the comic, scripts, little doodles I don't post on Tumblr or whatever, I want to make Patreon another source of income. Which involves posting to it at least monthly. And even if I don't, then you guys won't have to worry about anything since I've got it set to not charge for months I don't post anything.

Resolution Review

So, to review some of my... I guess you could call them resolutions, though I'd rather think of them as goals I don't absolutely have to hold myself too but would just like to accomplish, I'd like to...

Have more fun when with AtDFF and AYC through drawing and posting more loose, silly comics and doodles

Try figuring out a posting and work schedule for AtDFF and AYC by then end of January

Hopefully get a back log of updates for both comics ready to release by summer

Start on and release Undertale-ish: The Comic sometime this year

Keep doing Drawing Junior Secret Squad until Chapter 3 until Chapters 3 and 4 of Deltarune hopefully come out sometime this year.

Possibly design hypothetical secret boss predictions for Chapters 4 and 5 of Deltarune before the next chapters come out.

Keep working on, designing characters for, and coming up with Dark Worlds for Deltarune: Fool's Fate. Perhaps even drawing some tarot cards with the chapter bosses.

Post more about my other projects, even if they're only sketchbook drawings or warm up doodles.

Update my commissions page and hopefully take more commissions to earn some extra money/save up for college or to move out.

Post regularly to my Patreon, also to earn some extra money.

Generally have a better year than 2023 and to find more enjoyment in my art and projects.

What if… I just started scanning or taking pictures of full pages of my sketchbook and that’s what I posted. Little explanation from time to time, if I’m feeling it, but nothing special. Not a requirement.

There are a metric ton of drawings that I do that just… don’t go anywhere. Not because “I made them for me” or whatever, It’s just that it’s too small or a one-off doodle or it was a custom design I posted somewhere else already or just generally “not worth the effort” of posting/posting again lol. But they all always get taped or glued or otherwise folded into my monstrosity of a sketchbook. Hell, sketchbooks. I have a massive backlog of all of my drawings sitting right on my shelf, all the way back to when I was in kindergarten. Before that, even. I’m currently using my 28th book. Could be cool to see them all in a row on one blog. A progression.

Idk. A part of me has a fear of doing that with how art’s relationship with the internet is changing in the face of AI and all. I felt pretty invincible to all the “meaningful” types of art theft, considering I literally have all the physical copies, before all this haha. But then again if I let that fear win nothing will ever get posted. And I do eventually want to start doing something with my art. Else I wouldn’t care, ya know? I also use my sketchbook a lot like a… journal(?) nowadays. Which is part of why a lot of the doodles don’t get posted, because I don’t even know what to say about, like, the doodle of my friend locked in the trunk of a car, Don’t Be An Ass PSA, Dr. “Croissant” Thunder, or my constant desire to go rollerskating. And then there’s my planning and plotting pages for a comic, but I suppose those are easy to scuff out/skip. Lord knows I’m going to have to cover up my more obvious journaling endeavors and watermark commissions anyways.

This is supposed to be my “sketchbook blog.” Sables Comics is supposed to be my finished art blog, and this is all supposed to be for fun. :/ Even if I want to do things with my art I don’t want it to suck the fun out of it all (aka the main reason I’ve been hesitant about following through with my comic ideas lol).

Spent the last few hours going through the phenomenal backlog of all of your art, stumbled here in a search for any and all Layton content after today's announcement and I couldn't have been happier. All of your stuff is gorgeous, I love your interpretations of the characters! And it's only making me more excited for the chance to see all of them again, someday.

Since I see you say you're open for requests, I thought I could toss a few your way. If you're interested, absolutely no pressure!

I adore the PLvPW game so much, it's probably my favorite Layton game, even if it's definitely an outlier. And the one piece you drew of Layton and Maya in the forest was phenomenal! So my request is that- more of the PLvPW squad (Maya, Luke, Layton, Phoenix) together. I'd love to see how you'd draw Darklaw or some of the other secondary characters, too. (That one piece with Espella and Carmine had me cracking up.)

Luke and Maya's friendship is precious to me. Also, ghost Luke au potential here? Could be fun.
