Here's the rest. Not shaken, individual, and lit up
So! Who wants to make some???
Good, cuz they're easy.
First off, these are properly called "sensory bottles" and are used a means to help sooth those with anxiety or on the autism spectrum (special education teacher with autism myself, hi). They are incredibly easy to make, so even younger children can make them, with adult supervision.
Materials Required:
Clear glue (I used elmers)
Clear plastic bottle (dollar store or amazon)
GLITTER
Water
Super glue (have adult assist with this if you're young pls)
Optional Materials:
Food coloring
Beads (give extra clunk clunk)
Shaped glitter (like the stars I have in these)
Steps:
Fill the bottle with some glue then water (more glue = slower settle, less glue = fast settle. My bottles above are fast settles. I prefer slow settle, glitter drifts for longer)
Add glitter (as much or as little) and optional stuff
Put super glue in lid and seal that sucker (note, if you want to see the bottle BEFORE you seal it, you may need to wipe the lid and rim off so the super glue can adhere)
Let the super glue dry for at LEAST 15 minutes then shake it up and watch the glitter!
There ya go. If anyone has questions, hit me up! These are a ton of fun and my students adored them.
(Part of me was tempted to try and make and sell, but I'm lazy and fear etsy so yee)
Also got a couple of videos of the glitter swirling, but can't post those on phone.
no regular art today bc i am feeling a lil sick BUT!! i can finally show off the completed ren faire aradia fit!! it's all finished and i finally got to put it together for the first time. i am really pleased with how all of it turned out, and it felt really nice wearing an outfit comprised only of stuff that i had made myself.
YOU'VE ACTIVATED MY PERFUME AUTISM TRAP CARD. The Circe one is technically a body moisturizing oil-- it's, from the listing desc, "ginger, black pepper, ylang ylang, gardenia, jasmine, and clove, with another complex layer of amber, patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla, and musk"
That sounds amazing!!!!! I have no idea how to visualize that smell, but the way you described it sounds really good!
Imagine your f/o helping you out when you when you feel sick. Whether you're loving having them at your beck and call or are, like, really embarrassed about the whole thing, your f/o is there for you.
Even if they're a bit of a jerk about it. They might be hiding a smile when you sit up in bed with your hair all messed up, might poke fun at the way you have to take your pills with a whole jug of water. And since you let that mug of tea that they so lovingly prepared for you go all cold, they might tilt it ever-so-slightly over your head with the biggest grin on their face until you notice. (Don't worry, they won't actually pour any onto you. They put honey in it!! And you're obviously in no position to wash the sheets.)
But they're loving every second of it– it's time they get to spend with you, after all. The only thing they love more than messing with you is taking care of you, and the second you ask, the jokes will be done. They'll do anything to make you feel better!
