Hi everyone! So, this is my first fanfic. Ever, lol. I mean ever that I was confident enough to post. Credit to @trenchcoatbees for the wonderful idea! And thank you to @indago-snake for tagging me! So, this is going to be run by chapters, and I might upload it on Ao3. cool, right? Just gotta wait.

The Brooklyn streets came alive with the vibrant rhythm of the city, each step echoing with the pulse of a thousand stories aching to be told. Many stories had finished long ago, but not this one. His pace is quickened as he adjusts the misshapen, rather unfashionable hat atop his head.

A man walks through an empty alleyway in Brooklyn, a worn-down trenchcoat clinging to his misshapen figure. He was a man of many talents, but little features, the only discernible thing about him was the holes that lined his body, which was covered by blank, canvas like skin. He walks with no purpose, although he used to. He’s not the same man, not anymore at least. And nobody remembered who he once was.. not a soul who wandered the crooked, ever-changing streets of New York City cared to learn what happened to Dr. Jonathan Ohnn..

No.. not Jonathan Ohnn.

The spot.

He’d given that name up long ago, back when he had lost everything.

He walks the streets mindlessly, hoping to come across something that might help his dilemma. A man with a power he can’t even comprehend correctly, no friends, no family, no job.. not anymore. What was once everything he knew was nothing but an unfinished story, one that ended too early.

Spot steps on something, his foot quickly dragging away from it onto the pavement. He looks down, his orifice squinting to get a better view. The figure on this paper was oddly.. familiar. Perhaps it was something that could help him, although highly unlikely. He gave up looking for things such as that.

Things that.. who.. who is this?

He picks up the paper curiously, his opposing hand brushing the dust and attempting to straighten it to its former integrity. He wasn’t sure why this called to him so much.. it, it echoed to him almost. Like a distant memory, an old friend who was calling to him. A warm feeling he wished for, a feeling he hadn’t felt since the collider.. had..

Those who pass by might only see a man who’d found something of no interest. They pass with no curiosity or solicitousness, getting on with their lives as they always had. But The spot stayed there, his grip on the paper softening. It was a photo, more specifically of him. He’d know it from anywhere, from the idiotic, carefree smile he had to the hooked nose and unkempt hair. His fingers trace upon what once was, a tinge of envy settling in his new form.

But that wasn’t what truly had caught the enigmas attention. No, it was the words below his old photo. ‘MISSING’ was written in big, bold letters. The red font had faded with age, some of the text failing to be read, but he could understand the greater picture of the narritave, and it’s that someone was truly looking for him. Someone, out there, in the big bustling city of New York, missed him.

The Bat Man

Ok hot take: Batman's kinda a mary sue for all the edgelords.

Over time they made him gritty and dark and kind of sadistic and got rid of his good humour and kept ladling on these superhuman attributes and gimmick of the week stuff.

Which just made him less interesting: Character Decay, if you will.

But then the actual fans sort of developed this retcon:

"What if Bruce Wayne, The Batman is just kind of a goofy guy, and actually given the chance he's just the Most Dad he can possibly be for a guy who's entire persona is 'MY PAAAARENTS ARE DEAAAAAAD'.

Because canonically is such a selfish shit he wouldn't eat Selina Kyle's pussy, and that's not going to fly with a generation who eats ass.

So they invented a dude who's roped Superman into Co-Parenting an entire box full of ninja gremlins, and is mostly known for being the guy who loses Miss Piggy to Kermit. The one who gets his ass scanned and spends his downtime trolling Reddit by confirming Bruce Wayne's Ass matches the Batman's Ass in the most deranged way.

And see, that's someone I'd be interested in reading about.

Not a dude gets written as someone who's So Good at Martial arts that he can literally dodge bullets he never saw coming. Which is the writing style of a 14 year old boy with a power fantasy and not enough exposure to decent plot.

Looking at you, entire comics industry.

TOAxDC anyone?

I've been a part of the MariBat fandom for years now, and more recently become a part of the BatPham fandom since it grew into a full fandom of it's own.

In all that time I have been sitting on an idea for another crossover with DC that I think has just as much potential to become something entirely its own.

So, allow me to present the idea of Tales of Arcadia x Batman, which I've been affectionate calling the BATHUNTER crossover in my head.

More ramblings and fic recs under the cut.

So, first and foremost:

We have a bat bait, blue eyed, black haired, protagonist with trauma. Comparing this to the other two fandoms we've already hit the ground running.

We also have a reason for them to be in Gotham. At the end of Trollhunters we have Claire and Jim going with the trolls to find a new heartstone in New Jersey. Gotham is in New Jersey.

The trolls traveling across the country and founding New Trollmarket right in the Bat's territory doesn't even require an explanation beyond 'They found the new heartstone under Gotham City.'

The opportunities for identity shenanigans are still just as present as ever. If you stick to the full canon of the Tales of Arcadia universe, sans the time travel reset, then Jim, Claire and possibly Toby are both human and the bats could meet them as human civilians and as vigilantes who go around with glowing face covering armor and the ability to just disappear.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of canon past the first half of wizards. So I like the idea of Jim using a glamour mask to go to school while being a vigilante in his half troll form. Make the bat's even more confused.

I also feel like the dichotomy between the three rules of trollhunting and Batman's usage of fear as a weapon and no killing rule would be fascinating.

Just:

"Fear heightens your senses. Fear keeps you alive. Arrogance gets you killed."

“You prefer to call me Batman. But the reason you can never escape me … is that my name is fear. And I live within you.”

“Always finish the fight.”

"Heroes should never kill a villain, no matter the depths of his villainy."

They would probably agree on rule three, though: “When in doubt, always kick them in the gronk-nuts.” Since Batman identifying weakness in both his teammates and villains is a whole thing.

Lastly, the potential for bio-dad aus is fascinating to me. Specifically, not with Bruce as the bio-dad, but with Commissioner Jim Gordon.

For anyone who hasn't happened on Jim Gordon's backstory, allow me to give some context. Jim Gordon's wife was named Barbara Eileen Gordon. They had two children, Barbra Gordon and Jim Gordon Jr. Barbara Eileen divorced Commissioner Gordon because she wanted to get her son out of Gotham.

From what I understand, in canon she keeps the name and eventually moves back to Gotham after her son becomes a serial killer and inmate of Arkham Asylum.

But this is an AU, canon is what ever we want it to be and Jim Lake being the biological kid of Commishionre Gordon and little brother of Barbra Gordon aka Oracle has some real potential in the right author's hands.

Batman wants answers. Jim wants to be left alone, so he can go back to his not so normal life. Too bad those two things aren't at all compatible with each other. At least Jim gets some new friends out of all of this. Probably. Maybe.

One of my favorite fics in general. Jim becomes friends with the Young Justice team while trying to convince Batman that he's 'just a civilian'.

Very funny and well thought out. I particularly like this interpretation of Gotham's trollmarket and the friendship between the trollhunters and the batfam.

Barbara Lake saw an uncomfortably familiar pattern in the behavior of James Lake Junior. She saw it in almost everything he did these days. She had seen it in her friends growing up. She had lived it herself. She just wasn't sure how to help him, so, instead, she calls in a friend.

Another fun one by NerdofSpades. Barbara, having been Batgirl, recognizes Jim's behavior in herself. It's a shorter one but still a lot of fun

The only thing I would disagree with in this statement is the Chris part. It’s the Alba and her friends and the which blog is right side. It’s definitely not about Chris. He’s Robin to everyone else’s Batman

I think it's kind of about Chris, too.

A lot of people want this to be PR solely because it would mean he wouldn't date someone like her. I'm not talking about her age, but rather about her behavior. And about her friends.

Basically, this being real would mean he is okay with dating someone who is racist, a clout chaser, and has Nazi supporters and fatphobic friends. With trolls who are using him and his fans for clout and just for fun. And this being PR would mean the opposite. I get that he is still associated with them; he spent a certain amount of time with them. But him spending time with them because this is a relationship they need to sell, so he needs to be there because of a contract, because he agreed to participate in this (I still think he didn't think this through and that they didn't know what kind of people Alba and co. are), is completely different from him spending time with them because he is in love with Alba and loves Justin's company.

I'm not trying to find excuses for him, but this being a PR relationship, basically work, and a real one, makes such a difference in terms of his personality and whether he is a trash human being or not.

So basically, his whole image, his whole perception, and his whole personality are on the line. Because if this is real and they are truly getting married, then the guy we've followed and adored for more than 20 years is gone. Because that guy would never be okay with all of the things Alba and her friends embody.

My Trafalgar Law HC’s!! pt.4🥳🥳

This one’s longer and is kinda inspired by some people around me, but most of these I could honestly see for him!!

He doesn’t work at a hospital. He owns a private clinic. If he did, he’d work in the ER. He’d have a scribe. He’d either be very grumpy or very patient to work with.

He doesn’t read Homestuck/doesn’t really like it but if he absolutely had to choose his favorite human would be Dave Strider. I literally have no clue what his favorite troll would be, but I’m guessing maybe like Aradia or Karkat.

His favorite Nintendo series is Star Fox.

He’s more of a Vinesauce guy than a Jerma guy.

If you asked him what the three most recent songs he’s listened to are, he’d probably say:

He doesn’t mind Lofi.

This one is actually inspired by an old friend of mine, but he doesn’t really watch anime. He watches a lot of analysis videos on YouTube and if it’s interesting enough, he’ll watch it. This was the case for Cardcaptor Sakura, Fruits Basket, and Ergo Proxy.

He’s seen Phoebe Bridgers in concert with Nami. She also introduced him to Mitski.

Radiohead is probably his favorite artist. He also likes Paramore and Mitski

(Note: Before, I thought it was FATM, but a lot of my HC's and fanfic content heavily revolve around Radiohead. So, there's that. He probably still really likes FATM though. Same for Evanescence.)

He loves Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding, and stuff like Half Life, Silent Hill, Portal, Overwatch and GMOD.

He likes watching Luffy play Skyrim and would probably be better than him if he played it.

He cried playing Shadow of the Colossus, Deemo, and Yomawari. He’s also cried playing some other games.

He went through an Undertale phase. He also cried playing it. He’d also be the person to spoil the whole route system, and would get annoyed if you don’t do “the good route”.

He really likes Batman. He prefers DC.

His favorite channel is Adult Swim.

If you show him Star Wars I-III he’ll make really funny jokes the entire time. He also really likes Chewbacca, Luke, and Obi Wan. And if you gift him a lightsaber you might find him on the deck late at night doing lightsaber tricks.

He LOVES Pikmin.

He sucks at MarioKart.

He’s really good at Smash Bros but he’ll silently rage quit if he’s doing bad or loses. His main is Cloud.

His favorite Pokémon is Lucario, but he also likes Bulbasaur. His favorite element is electric, so he also likes Espeon and Umbreon.

He does not participate in Secret Santa at the clinic.

This one’s kinda obvious but his favorite AOT character is Levi.

His favorite Demon Slayer characters are Rengoku and Nezuko. He bawled when Rengoku died.

His favorite BTS member is Jungkook.

When Pokémon Go was big, he used to drive Luffy, Chopper, and Nami around. Them and Kid and Killer would be fighting for Poke stops all the time, and leech (MaxMoeFoe reference) off their lures. Things would get so heated LOL

If you ask him to watch a Kdrama with you he’d hate it at first but then get really into it. He'd get so upset at any cliffhangers.

This one’s also obvious but he hates the color pink.

He doesn’t play Minecraft. And he probably wouldn’t in the foreseeable future.

Where did canon SladexTalia even come from? Were they always some sort of fuck buddies or is it a retcon? And what's going on with Talia's 'oooh I don't know who's Damian's father. maybe it's Bruce 😙 or maybe it's Slade😘hehe' *groan* that was so cringy. And why did she want to have a child with Slade? It was so sudden and came out of nowhere. I just can't get my head around it.

It comes from the fact that Christopher Priest is an absolute troll.

So basically Slade and Talia have a fling in Deathstroke Rebirth, the run written by Priest in 2016 (the same that gave us Slade sleeping with Joseph's fiancée and killing a dog for no reason, yeah that run is wild) and at some point Talia puts out there the notion that Damian might not be Bruce's son, but actually Slade’s (since apparently they used to have a fling back then too).

Now this is obviously a retcon, and it obviously makes no sense. If we go by the original version, Talia got pregnant while she and Bruce where together but she had a miscarriage - or so she told Bruce, because actually the child survived and Damian was born. Later on this was changed with the more famous, more spicy controversial version in which Talia drugged and raped Bruce to get herself impregnated (or to get Bruce's semen and grow Damian in vitro. Depends on the version).

In both cases there's no way the child can be anyone's but Bruce: in the first it's because she got preggered by him while they were having a relationship and it's a situation where she could have not been seeing anyone else (not even behind Bruce's back), and in the second case because why in the fudge should she have gone through all the trouble of drugging and raping the man only to NOT have a child with him and instead having it with Slade? Like WTF.

Also I recall that when Damian initially appeared, Bruce ran dna tests to make sure the boy was actually his, obviously. Imagine the world's greatest detective and the most paranoid man alive taking "btw this is your son bye" at face value.

So why the whole "Slade might be Damian's dad" thing? As I mentioned because Priest is a troll or so I'm inclined to believe. He really did not want to write Deathstroke Rebirth, and what way is there to piss fans off more than putting into question their beloved biological link between Batman and his bLoOd sOn (I love Damian but some fans and some DC writers alike tend to be a tiny little bit excessive over the whole "batman's son" thing, like calm down bro you're the ones pushing for a nuclear family dynamic for the whole "batfamily", but somehow at the same time Damian is Bruce's only "real" son like what the hell is wrong with you).

As my ex housemate once said, it would have been fucking funny if Slade was Damian's father in that timeline, even if it didn't make a lick of sense, just because everyone was losing their collective shit. But regardless if Priest did it to troll people, or if it was just a lame way to create some drama-driven plot, there was no way they were going to actually allow him to canonize it.

If there's anything about it in other comics beside Deathstroke Rebirth I am not familiar with them.

This initially sounded like Kanaya wasn't sure if she wanted any kind of relationship with Vriska, but in retrospect, it's clear she was just confused about the type of relationship she wanted.

The post quoted above is my analysis of Equius and Nepeta's relationship. We now know, more or less, the 'reason' that she puts up with him - but I'm still not convinced she should.

For sure - it would have highlighted their relationship as a moirallegiance a lot earlier than the comic did.

I probably wasn't going to guess that they were moirails, though - hell, I still probably wouldn't be able to guess it, if it hadn't been explicitly stated!

I think moirallegiance is romantic. It exists under the umbrella of troll romance, after all. I just think it's also platonic - a contradiction that would confuse a human, but would make perfect sense to a troll.

Not a problem! Shipping dynamics are confusing enough when we're just talking about one type of relationship.

Doof and Perry are clearly moirails, with Perry as the pacifier. His calming influence is obvious, as Doof's 'villainy' gradually becomes more and more benign throughout the show, and their relationship becomes increasingly casual.

I wonder what the demographics are around troll orientations, actually. It seems as if you can form a kismesis/matesprit pair with a troll of any gender, so maybe trolls are predominantly pansexual.

Honestly, these symbols are very useful. The quadrants are surrounded by an overwhelming amount of terminology, so it's good to have them as shorthand. Equius♦Nepeta, Kanaya♥Rose, etc.

Anyway, you're right - Equius has his coping mechanisms, and the implication is that he could be a lot worse. We haven't seen Nepeta act as his moirail yet, but maybe she's been doing so offscreen.

To Gamzee, Equius is a friend with detriments.

To Equius, Gamzee is a friend with weird caste system baggage that he isn't sure how to deal with. Plus, he's clearly into him, although I can't figure out in which quadrant.

Yeah, I guess it's always possible that a 'typical' auspistice doesn't need much social ability. When you get right down to it, all you really need to do is keep the warring parties apart, so anything beyond that might cross the line into advanced auspisticism.

Maybe a 'meddler' like Kanaya is indeed a rarity, which would make per a particularly popular auspistice. Like I said, there aren't a lot of trolls around with a disposition like hers.

I haven't decided yet if I'll be liveblogging anything after Homestuck - but I've added it to the list of prospective projects. We'll see how I feel when Homestuck is finished with, in late 2034.

Yup - if we interpret a 'spadekind specialist' as a master of caliginous relationships, then Karkat's the one who fits the bill.

I have enjoyed nothing more than this fandom's concern trolls and dogwhistlers being forced to expose themselves in the expanding and evolving media landscape.

They're so used to the habit built in delusional fan spaces that they just keep digging holes on habit but the second it leaves the static filled dome they intentionally constructed they basically come pre-branded with tattoos on their forehead like "cw: xenophobia, racism, white nationalism" the second anyone actually turns over the dialogues they've been picking up.

Meanwhile, SPN fandom is learning in many different faces and wings what Not Being Pandered To looks like.

Jared standom is so worked up because most don't even enjoy Walker, and are recognizing they aren't his demographic, short of those that ARE happily promoting texas nationalism or Good Southern Christian Family Values he trots out between his Rogan and Tulsi pushes. Jared's very confident and clear in his audience, but his own supposed fans that used him as a prop here no longer can benefit from his positioning for their weird social attention games.

Then you get people lashing out and trying to make anything sound socially woke when all it is, is made up excuses to attack small creators, conveniently ones strong in liberal messaging like LGBTQ, and so on. It doesn't matter what they'll attack. This time they attacked a creator's nationality. Sometimes it's "gays prancing around". They always put frills on it to sound like it's some social campaign to convince people to go after with said dogwhistle, but it always boils down to attacking the revolutionaries for existing, never actually fighting oppressive systems.

Meanwhile Jensen is appealing to, well, my demographic. And I regret to inform you, my demographic is not the same as the SPN Fandom Arguing Dome demographic. My demographic is 200X gamer dudes and tournaments, DC and batman, general genre conventions and scifi, comics, you know. That wing. And I'm not sure if you noticed, Jensen is explicitly pursuing audience in that wing, with a strong LGBTQ+ stance adjacent to basically Evolve That Community away from LOL GAAAAAAAAAAAY.

Nobody cares about you guys still throwing residual temper tantrums about ships on TV shows antis already lost, nobody fucking cares, carol, all you've done is attack a perfectly good independent game developer until they gave up all their profits. High fucking five, everybody.

I got bored,so more info on the YJ as Batkids AU

It started with Conner, he was crying after another …encounter with Superman. Batman has watched it all go down,and he instantly decided, ‘I’m gonna adopt that boy.’ and that’s that,he comforted Conner,and then asked him the million dollar question, “Can I adopt you?” And Conner was quick to say yes.

Next Batkid was Kaldur,surprisingly. Kaldur had an argument with Orin and Mera, it was about his father. Of course it was. It ended with him crying and Zeta beaming to Mount Justice. Thankfully no one was there,he settled down on the couch and just let it out. He was sobbing for a solid 30 minutes. Near the end of his meltdown,he felt a hand on his shoulder. It was none other than the big bat himself. He got defensive but Batman instantly comforted him,he broke down again,ended up crying in Batman’s arms. After a while,Kaldur calmed down,and now he was sleepy,before he fell asleep, Batman asked him, “Would you like to be my son instead?” A nod of the head and Kaldur was knocked out.

Third one was Wally, after a fight with Flash,he stormed off and went to Mount Justice. He wanted to go to the training room to let the anger out but he was intercepted by Batman. He asked him what was wrong, and best believe the flood gates broke. He ended up venting,after he was done he got offered water and adoption.

Artemis was next up. She took it as a joke when the big bad Batman asked her to be his first daughter. She said yes,mainly because GA pissed her off earlier that day. She soon realizes it was not a joke,too late to back out now. At least some team members were there with her.

M’gann knew it was bound to happen,she accepted it easily,she had gotten into a fight with MM,she was sad and low key depressed. She tried to cry in silence,but Batman was not letting that slide,he ended up guiding her through it,she did not hesitate to say yes when he asked “Can I adopt you?”

Zatanna and Raquel actually got adopted at the same time. A mission went haywire,they were trying to comfort each other,but it wasn’t enough. Suddenly Batman was there,he was the anchor they both needed. Batman didn’t even get the chance to ask before they both said, “Could you adopt us?”

That’s how the adopting went,now their rooms at the Mansion.

Conner’s bed has a bunch of pillows and blankets,he replaced all his Superman merch with Batman,he has posters,drawing,figures and so on…

Kaldur’s room has its own personal pool,walk in closet, a desk, and a king sized bed,this fish boy was living the dream. He has a bookshelf full of trinkets,pictures,books and other random stuff, and a bunch of doodles on his walls.

Wally’s room still has some Flash merch but it’s all practically taken over by Batman posters everywhere. He also has a wall dedicated to pictures of the team,he also has his own bathroom.

Artemis’s room was somewhat normal. (She has a Zatanna shrine in her closet.) Moon lights all over the room. And a massive vanity,she has the room with the biggest window.

M’gann’s room is really bright,curtain lights everywhere,pink bedsheets,baby blue walls,and she has LED lights,she has a big mirror taking up half of a wall

Zatanna’s room is. Chaotic to say the least. She has those glow in the dark star stickers on her roof, the most normal thing. Two posters of Houdini. On different walls. A tapestry of Shrek standing in front of the bisexual flag. A million fans everywhere. Cold asf in there. She also painted half a wall Neon Green. Not even the whole wall.

Raquel as I said before,obsessed with butterflies, Butterfly posters,butterfly bedsheets,she even had her walls painted with butterflies. Anytime Bruce sees something butterfly themed he instantly gets it for her.

Sibling bonding time :)

Movie night,they were watching The Little Mermaid to troll tf out of Kaldur,who was not amused. Like 40 minutes into the movie everyone was asleep, Kaldur in the middle and somehow everyone was physically touching him. Bruce walked in,took a few pictures,turned off the tv and threw a blanket over the pile of Bats on the couch.

Good Stuff: Megamind 2

I remember many moons ago that I reviewed Dreamworks's Megamind in all its brilliance. I remember around that same time spitballing about a sequel. Cut to 2 years ago where they announced one and my optimism was in it. I wasn't expecting much, I had simple expectations of this since Dreamworks never slacked when it came to their sequels, you know? Now we're here... and it's like how am I meant to feel? Should I feel grateful for this sudden monkey's paw, this baboon's dishwater soaked digits for giving us this take on Megamind? [sigh] I don't want to be too sour about this though.

Now I'm not bothered by them making a film that's essentially a backdoor pilot to the TV series, nor that the original cast's been replaced, introducing new characters, and that the series itself isn't theatrical tier animation wise. That has always been an acceptable given with Dreamworks shows vs movies. What bothers me is that the new "film" couldn't have the same quality as before. Like this is unprecedented, where a sequel doesn't get the same stellar animation as before but is basically just episode 0 of the TV show. This never happened before, The Croods, Trolls, and Boss Baby never got downgraded to direct-to-DVD status with their sequels's animation looking worse than the fucking Paw Patrol movies. We JUST got Puss in Boots: The Last Wish couple years ago, so can you imagine how this kinda bothers me? I'm cool with it not having the same great writing and worldbuilding as the OG film, but this felt like the biggest disservice to any Megamind fan, heck any animation fan in general.

But I've been sour enough, is the film/show actually worth it story and character wise? Dear lord, it's corny. It makes 60s Batman feel like a Christopher Nolan production. The characters you know are basically the only reason to watch this as none of the new ideas given are compelling enough that makes this feel justified. It's nice getting a series about heroes and villains, and Megamind himself is the most enjoyable part about all this, but it's like even I can't sift out the hidden gem this could have with what I've seen. It's like kids will enjoy this as is like the other Dreamworks shows, but it's hard imagining any older fan of the original movie being ecstatic enough to even bother past the film. I'm sorry, it's overall serviceable but I can't offer any silver lining that can prove this was worth it.

Again, I can't even be mad. I'm used to this pain.

I don't know what else to say. Do I just lie to you all and say this wasn't a massive disappointment? This hasn't soured my feelings for Dreamworks, I'm still a believer given they aren't exactly the studio I go to for long running streaks of quality compared to others. It's not like Megamind was the biggest thing in my life, that goes to Shrek and Bluey, but I kinda wanted... more from this? This just barely does anything for me. I'm gonna watch a couple more episodes and honestly not look back when this weekend's over. What sucks the most is that this isn't the first time a sequel animation has made me feel this way, but this is a newfound low for me.

I give Arzette: Jewel of Faramore a 9 out of 10. Just a fantastic blast from the past.

Megamind 2 gets a 2 out of 5. Fucking fiasco.

Some ideas for Merch

For the uninitiated, @thatguywhodoesstuff made a Golden Goose fankid named Merch and We've been exchanging some ideas about him recently, so I decided to dump a bunch of my own concepts for him here, or rather, under the cut

Mammon's is immensely excited and nervous about the prospect of having a biological child prior to Merch hatching. During this time the other Sins, mainly Lucifer and Beelzebub, do their best to help him get through his rough patches.

When Merch does hatch, Mam gives Glitz and Glam a 2 year long roadmap of events to attend since he won't be there to directly manage their act with a new baby in the house. He also makes it very clear what will happen to them should they stray from it in an significant way.

As a kid, Merch wears a lot of baggy clothes and often takes Via's old stuff or at least he would if he liked the colors more).

When Merch starts manifesting his many powers, Mammon devotes extra time to teaching him to control them and even how to strengthen them should the need arise.

When Merch is a tween, he starts being a bit sassy towards his family, which is nothing special, but when he starts learning about Stella's background with her ex husband, he lightens up on it a little, especially towards Stella. There's an unspoken agreement in the rest of the family that they know why he calmed down but none of them point it out.

You might think Merch's fondness of annoying him and Fizz would make Ozzie stop trying to be his favorite uncle, but it's quite the opposite. Asmodeus thinks his nephew is just generally mischievous and thinks that if he plays it off like Merch's pranks don't get to him, he might be seen as the "cool uncle". Merch finds these misguided efforts hilarious.

Merch doesn't see himself as ever seeking out a relationship and considers himself fully content with just the family he has now and his businesses. Mammon sees a lot of his younger self in this behavior and lightly jokes about it with his son.

While it's very rare for Merch to get outright angry, it's not too rare to see him at this scariest, which is actually when he's extremely excited for something, usually the launch or opening of a project. He goes into full cackling super villain mode and takes the moment to relish his own business acumen.

Somewhat adjacent, he has Batman levels of contingency plans for every toy line he owns. In addition to having several episode of a tie-in cartoon made before they even hit stores, he will have paid some desperate artists peanuts to make a pilot for a spinoff series for each main cast member in case they become popular enough to sustain their own line. He convinces them to do this by promising that the animators will also profit from this one character inevitably becoming a fan favorite, he, of course, keeps every team he has working on these "preparations" unaware of the others. And that's all just one example.

When Merch is frustrated, electricity of several colors emanates from his swept back crest/hair, in a way similar to a plasma ball

This last one is more of a premise for something else, but Merch fits very well into it. He sets up a domain in preparation for his attempt to convince uncle Fizz to return to performing, and when he refuses, turns it into a Fizz trolling forum. One frequent patron of the forum seems to take to it oddly well, and this is not lost on Merch.

I've got a controversial opinion about a spoilery Miraculous Ladybug topic.

Don't read if you don't want to know.

I think the whole the whole Miraculous Ladybug "bible" leak is a work. Meaning it was intentional by ZAG themselves.

Here's why I think that. I've seen the material. Yes, the leak contains spoilers...but there's something funny about the "spoilers." Everything is in VERY vague terms, even when certain end fates are revealed. The only things that aren't vague are either things that occur very early in the season, juicy bits that catch attention but aren't that important to the main plot (Miss Bustier's developments), and major appearances that we'd usually get image leaks about beforehand. The episode summaries themselves are on the level of the Season 3 episode summaries that were released. Those summaries only whet the appetite of the fans, but hardly spoiled anything.

Series bibles are usually a LOT more detailed than what was shown in that bible. A prime example is the Batman: The Animated Series Bible. It initially had a backstory for Renee Montoya, a recurring character, that was never elaborated in the episodes -- she's a cop who lost her male significant other in the line of duty (yes, she initially was not written as LGBT)...a significant other who was also a cop. Even if she seemed like a blank slate to viewers and even if such information didn't have much impact on the episodes themselves, it's explicitly written so everyone knows where to branch off.

By contrast...everything in that Miraculous Ladybug bible is very, very vague, to the point where it almost reads like promotional material. A series bible would usually, for instance, have a complete biography and backstory of, say, Adrien because the writers would need to know certain details about him to actually form episodes and make sure there are no contradicting information is revealed in the episodes. It's telling his allergy to feathers, a small but notable trait, isn't even mentioned except for the summary of the episode Mr. Pigeon. In a real series bible there would be complete backstories of Marinette, Gabriel, and all the other major characters in narrative format, not this "Oh, did you know this is why she is the way she is?" style that's tabloid-y and leading. Heck, that there's so very little written about the antagonistic adults is almost proof that this was a carefully crafted piece designed to conceal as much information as it reveals. If this were really insider information, there would be no need to conceal.

So basically, I think this "leak" was done to spike interest in the season, and that everyone, including Thomas Astruc, is trolling us by claiming that this wasn't planned.

Since they won't stop I guess I'll go ahead and reveal my theory. Based on last night, I suspect that it's Warner Bros Discovery, in addition to other networks that keep pushing the Wanda trolls. Because when I caught them last night using Snyderverse 'stans' to start a fake fight over who's the best Batman, just to help boost Chris Nolan's new film, those trolls suddenly disappeared and the Wanda trolls stsrted back up. Warner Bros has used tons of Avengers blogs to keep the old movies trending . It's quite smart, I guess. Pretty fucking cruel, but smart. See, by constantly keeping old Avengers in everyone's face, they can make endless, negative comparisons to the new Marvel productions, and affect ticket sales and enthusiasm for the movies, hopefully. THEY were pushing the Scarlet Witch. I recall so many DC 'fans' getting into endless conversations with Wanda 'stans'. They interfered with Doctor Strange, as did A24. Hell, they were even using a whitewash contraversy to boost Oppenheimer. Trolls were doing that in the Wanda threads, too.

Warner Bros being heavily to the right, also love Thanos and his Eugenics message. Trolls say all the time,"Thanos was right". It's pretty sickening, actually, with all of the gun violence Americans are suffering through. As is fucking with and gaslighting another company's entire fan base, with fake Snyder enthusiasm, at least to the frenzied point they keep pushing, and to use fucked up, fake trolls and bots, pretending to be Avengers blogs to try and punish Marvel fans for having the nerve to enjoy Disney's new films. I'm still going to see the Flash to support Ezra but that's it. Warner Bros is fucking horrid for their continued campaign of hate against Disney. They can keep Oprah, too!
