Paradox of the coolest characters being the characters who give 0 shits about being cool. Nico cared very much about seeming cool and thus he was very Not cool. Fang on the other hand doesn't really care at all about being cool, and honestly I think he's the coolest dnd character I have

— Okay I have so much on my mind for this I don't even know where to start. I think of Mikey to be a quiet kid in highschool, not in a stereotypical way, but I feel like he'd focus more on getting through the day and getting his work done, focusing less on the social aspect.

— If you're also a quiet kid, you two would sit together any chance you get, you'd distance yourselves away from everyone else a bit to get lost in your own conversations about whatever you guys like to talk about.

— If you're more social, he'd probably follow you to whatever you're doing. He'd stay relatively quiet in most conversations, just listening, unless you prompted him to talk or introduced him to someone, then he'd do the polite thing and say hello and talk to them.

— People write Mikey as overally shy and nervous alot (like.. in the babying grown men way.) but I dont think he'd actually be that bad. I feel like he just takes a bit of time to adjust to talking to people and can be a little awkward at first. Once he warms up to you he's pretty laid-back and will talk with you about anything and everything you want.

— He'd claim that he 'isn't really interested in dating anyone' because he knew the whole thing about how highschool relationships typically never last, so he just tried to avoid it. That was until he met you of course.

— When he met you, his whole perspective on highschool and life in general changed. The more you two got to know eachother the more he fell head-over-heels in love with you.

— He'd definitely help you with homework if needed (and if he understood the class enough...)

— You guys would try and hang out after school to work on homework together but it just ends up being a two-hour period of you guys going on and on about the most random things before realizing that you haven't even started the homework. He'd eventually figure out a way for you guys to get work done but still get time to talk to each other.

— But it's not like you guys don't spend every minute you can together, people swear they can't see one of you without seeing the other. Of course, whenever one of you needs time alone its respected and you take breaks from eachother whenever necessary.

— You two compare music tastes and talk about music alot. Doesn't matter if you have different music taste than him, he wants to talk about it with you (even if he'll tease you a little about liking different stuff). If you have similar taste though, it'll definitely bring you closer.

— Movie nights are a big thing for him, he usually likes to pick the movie but he'll try and watch whatever you want, too. He'll explain parts of the movie to you if he can, he's a movie nerd and will tell you facts you had never heard of.

— If you're within walking distance from eachother (or one / both of you can drive) you two will come over and stop by whenever you can, even if it's just for a moment to say hi.

— You and Mikey meeting in highschool definitely made a big positive impact on your relationship in the future, you've changed eachother in small and big ways over the course of time and both of you agree that you're glad you met when you did.

David Alleyne has pretty much lost all of the original appeal he had as a character in his modern appearances which is so damn frustrating. Ultimately everything that he should be, that makes him such an amazing character who deserves a spot on the X-Men already, is stuff that hasn't been utilized in over a decade for him.

Prodigy originally and historically was:

An awkward nerd who gets picked on by many of his peers

A driven, motivated kid who's always thinking about his goals and his future

A kid who was raised in a politically knowledgeable loving home who knows how to point out bigotry in his peers and has no problem with it

An incredible tactician on the battlefield who's too good for his damn age group, an awkward leader of his team but a GOOD one

An overthinker, he spent weeks ignoring his crush because he felt guilty for something that DIDNT EVEN ACTUALLY HAPPEN and ended up coming off like an asshole to her

A protective older brother

He was never really "nice" tbh, he wasn't a fully blown asshole like say, Josh or Nori or Julian, but he definitely wasn't as nice as Jay. He could be rude if he thought the other person (*cough* Josh *cough*) deserved it. But in general he never really came off like a very emotional person, always kind of cold and tactical.

A mutant whose powers seem inherently non combatant in nature but actually grant him the ability to copy the fighting skills of every single person he's come in contact with, includining Mr Logan Wolverine himself, and Kitty Pryde who was trained by a ninja, even after he lost his powers he was still extremely useful in combat because he had all these skills at once!

He even managed to be a fucking leader of all the youth on Utopia as a depowered mutant!

But in these past few years he's been portrayed as this sort of nice, generic queer kid. and its really bland and in poor taste tbh I don't like it at all. I don't entirely want to blame YA volume 2 for this (though it absolutely had a hand in it) because he wasn't.... entirely like this yet, honestly I kind of want to blame Leah Williams tbh. But YA definiitely had a hand in it.

I really do like David and Tommy as a couple, unlike some of my friends, but the way it's been written so far really isn't how I see it happening for them at all, or how I think they are as a couple.

If David ever does end up on the X-Men, I really hope at least SOME of these old aspects of his character will be used, even if they stick with this new personality I really fucking hope they'd utilize his skill set properly because what's the point of having him on there if they're not going to? Lol.

Eric (40%): I'm a huge nerd, socially awkward, and we have a similar snarky sense of humor. I'm not remotely athletic or mechanical. I have a tendency to be self-destructive in an Eric-y way, by lazing around and procrastinating, especially when making major life decisions. I also love The Beatles.

Donna (40%): I'm a politically minded progressive, and we generally have similar interests (but my interest in history is more of an Eric-y thing).* I'm willful and opinionated, and the voice of reason/honesty. I'm a talented writer, and I love cats. I'm also attracted to nerdy Eric-y types.

Calm, Cool and Collected 3…

Is not what Yuichi was feeling right now. If the banishment from Neo Edo and dealing with another invasion wasn't enough, the universe had to throw something in the way of his love life again. The first time it was the banishment, almost a month ago. Lord Kogane had organized this lavish ceremony, so lavish that the young rabbit decided that he must make it the venue to confess his love to the cat ninja, Chizu, who he had been friends with for at least a year. But before he could get the words out on stage, Lord Kogane had exclaimed, "Congratulations Usagi, in order to further spread the legacy of Miyamoto Usagi, you must be a traveling Ronin. So, I declare you banished from Neo Edo." 

"What!" Was the only word that came out from his whole friend group during the ceremony. Yuichi's friends had gotten established positions at the city, Gen, the rhino, got to be official Bounty hunter, Kitsune, the fox, got to be official community center organizer, and Chizu was assigned official bodyguard to the Shogun. All decisions made by Kogane. One could tell this is based on shallow assumptions but banishment was not something anybody could want, but fighting the Shogun would only make it worse. So he packed his bags, took Spot, and waited outside the city limits not knowing what to do, but before any of his friends could show up, as they were too caught up with the follow up press interview. The young rabbit found an interesting pair of Yokai.

"Huginn, look it's a rabbit Yokai!" Said the stubbier gargoyle. The one called Huginn responded, "Yeah Muninn, and he looks kind of sad."

"I am not a Yokai!" Cried out Yuichi, sending out some pent up anger before crouching back down to his curled up position he had earlier. "I fight Yokai." He sobbed. That's when Huginn said, "Know the place for you"

That's how he became a fighter in the Battle Nexus, letting Willow Branch, Miyamoto's sword, taste blood for the first time in over half a millennia. It was fairly easy as he was a bit of a yokai nerd. After his first match he overheard a fighter complain about someone named “Big Mama'' and that he should have stayed off her radar. “Hope I don’t ever cross paths with her.” Yuichi thought.

 Eventually he found a job at Hueso's to create a good cover up if anyone from Neo Edo managed to find him, he didn’t want Kogane to know about the battles should he change his mind about the banishment.

Now here he was, standing in front of the rabbit responsible for all his hardships in Neo Edo, the one known as the great betrayer, the one who was now the most worried he had ever seen him. It was obivous that the poor rabbit was in love but why did it have to be the dad of the guy Yuichi was interested in. Guess types pass down generations. This was his second chance at love and Yuichi knew that he shouldn't let Miyamoto ruin his shot, yet he said, "Go for it, Jiji, it's the 21st century, it's fine to like men. I like men and women and everything in between…" then the young rabbit rambled on a bit. Before the older rabbit stopped him and said, "I am not worried because he's a man, I like men as much as I like women. I am worried because I made the impression, in front of his family, that I wanted  to meet him at your place to have…"

"Whoa, I didn't need to hear that, and besides I have to go back to work." That's when the young rabbit made his leave into the store but before going back to waiting tables he texts Leo-kun, who gave him his phone number during their conversation.

"Hey it's Usagi, meet me at the fountain by 6🐰."

It was 6:10 and both the young turtle and rabbit sat next to each other. There was an awkward silence, both could feel the tension in the air before Leo broke the silence.

"So it's this a date or you-."

"My 'dad' wants to smash your dad" Said Yuichi woefully.

"Oh, but my 'mom' just passed away and I..." Leo-kun said. Again not wanting to explain time travel to a rabbit. But something in Yuichi snapped, something that had been buried down long ago. He a coin from the fountain and slamming it back into the down screaming, "My mom has been dead for years"

"It must be hard for you to see your dad move on especially after losing the other child he had with her." Leo, said guiltily, staring at the enraged rabbit.

"Jotaro's Mom wasn't even my mom. Jotaro's not my brother!" His expression shifted from aggression to fear, "Oh, no" He thought he exposed his lie however…

"It's ok Usagi," Leo said, and with a heavy sniff he too started to sob "I'm sorry it's my fault, the Kraang…” Both the turtle and rabbit broke down in ugly sobs. 

Later when they both have calmed down, Leo-kun asked “Are you sure about this,Usagi? Dating in secret, what about your dad?”

“What about him? The only thing that matters is us ok.” said Yuichi, wiping off the remaining tears off Leo-kun’s face. “Plus we don’t know if your dad’s into him.”

generally more character-driven than plot-driven. also i love playing w language and doing lyrical or rhythmic stuff (in the one i posted yesterday there's a nice example of this: right before Gale nuts i have some assonance pairs or trios, pleasure/heady/breathless, thrumming/constructed, mind/height/compliance). i don't necessarily write like this with the intention people consciously notice it, it just adds a nice flavor. bit of spice for my sensory descriptions. and ofc i'll lay it on thicker if i'm doing hypno/drugs/mind control/etc to set the mood...

55. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?

gale (it's gale) (as much as I treat him like a sex object, I do really appreciate how complex his character is. he's an overconfident nerd, but he also has some genuine insecurity. he's definitely a bit socially awkward... but he is also absolutely charming and smooth, it's situational! and i appreciate how he's pretty easily led down a morally questionable path-- you absolutely get the sense that he's more interested in knowledge and learning for its own sake than for The Greater Good, at times.)

i don't think that choice has been swayed TOO much by reader reactions, but i will say there have been some great fanworks w Gale that have definitely encouraged me. also all of the people drawing or writing him chubby... that made him even more appealing to my tastes!

Brainstorming, especially if I'm tossing ideas around w friends! And it's always nice to refer to them later and snag a good line or two from That Thing I Said On Discord The Other Day.

When thinking of writing a post about why people tend to dislike Midnight, i had a bit of a thought: Just like SgtMarkIV/Brutal Doom, the hate can come from people that are usually uninformed.

A way to see Midnight is that he's more of a "side effect" and represents things that aren't unique to him (Specially if you look at other Doom related channels and see similarities).

I've seen him compared to MrBossFTW as if Midnight is the Doom equivalent to that.

He seems like a clickbait channel trying to exploit people that know less about Doom than he already does.

A recent example being him doing a video about Lilith PK3 and how his observation (If it's legit) can be comparable to that of how game journos (The group that Doom fans supposedly hate) talk about Doom mods.

(Because i don't think he even knows about the weird drama about that mod at all)

It's why DoomKid making a video correcting Midnight was a bit of a shocker: Both could be seen as representing opposite sides related to "Doom fandom".

But in general, a way to better understand this is by looking at 3 big points:

The Doom community and its history

I already made certain points in different posts, like differences between older and newer fans or aspects of certain activities etc.

Nerd/geek/fandom/whatever-you-call-it culture

I'm sure people are aware of nerd stereotypes in pop culture: The smart but socially awkward skinny guy with glasses with weird speech patterns and interests in pop culture, that gets bullied.

While they are exaggerated, they do have some truth in them (To the point some even say this outcast nerd aspect is what inspired Peter Parker, Spiderman).

So the "Funko Pop crowd" image seems different from nerds that get picky over how their favorite media is handled.

Might come from a place of what if means to love something so much: 100% blind love that you like anything associated with it or wanting "the best" for it that you tend to have standards like a parent wishing their kids get a better future and don't throw it all away.

Of course, some nerds will still have silly complaints over stuff but it also seems like some people find it easier to be nerdy in the "blind loyalty" way than making interesting stuff out of their passion.

Some also argue whether or not "nerd culture" is that obscure because something like Star Wars was always massive.

But it's still interesting to learn how subcultures change because it's not just a matter of newcomers but even the old guard can change too.

Internet content

When people discuss why "content creator" is a bad term, they usually include the angle from the corporations: How they treat artists and their art.

Be it corporations labelling different art forms as "content" or treating it badly even if the art itself is good and gave them some revenue.

But there's at least 2 angles we shouldn't forget:

The "creators" themselves because for all the talented people that deserve better, there's always those with crappy stuff or zero talent that somehow get to win at times.

And the audiences because some people tend to have really bad taste and in massive scales.

Youtube is a good example when you look at its popular videos and "personalities": A bunch of people with no actual talent or charisma "gamefying"/taking advantage of a system and the clueless audiences that watch them because they don't know better.

It reminds me of why a medium like animation got less popular:

First, there's specific rules from Youtube such as the 10 minute mark and how it relates to income, which was something animators barely could handle.

Then there's the fact that people like to play videos while they do something else as if they're background noise (This doesn't apply to just podcasts or commentaries).

It's probably not a surprise that some people who worked on more creative mediums end up doing podcasts or LP channels.

And then you have smaller channels doing the "don't forget to like, subscribe and hit the bell" etc part because YT essentially became a race of success and less about passion or effort into quality content.

Some say YT became more about personalities than content but even then, you can tell that James Rolfe still has a more interesting personality than Logan Paul.

One can argue that some people do rely on YT for the sake of money so "clickbait is needed" but i also assume that anyone who's super into Doom could just discover content on their own.

Another thing about modern internet is chasing trends or when everyone has to talk about what's currently popular, leaving little room for novel topics or creativity.

Anyway

Each of these 3 sections could've been better but i brought up some points that serve as food for thought, so any more interesting observations/opinions/even trivia could be reached from reading this, hopefully.

I doubt Midnight would ever find this blog and read this post... but at least he'd have more interesting material to use for his videos i guess.

TLDR: Loyal sidekicks who just need a hug, a warm blanket, and an ear to bitch into. That are often ignored by their wider fan base.

John Watson- Most adaptations of Sherlock Holmes. THE OG CHARACTER I OBSESSED OVER.

Watson, to me, defines if an adaptation is going to work. He's not a henchman meant to be there for Holmes' ego. Watson is his own fucked up guy, hell, do you think Holmes would keep someone around that was dull? My favorite fan work, Warlock Holmes, gives Watson a fascinating character arch that explores loyalty, addiction, grief, PTSD, masculinity, societal expectations, and ethics. I had a Holmes(all media types) faze from 2015- essentially now. It's what I read when I just feel like shit. Watson is just as batshit as Holmes in the original short stories. Willing to murder, hide evidence, and fight to protect Holmes. Baby.

AGENT 99- Get Smart (1965–1969)

Deep cut. My family kept a box set of this show that they grew up with. This show was a James Bond parody series in the US in the 60s that really hasn't aged well.

Agent 99, the lady on the right, is a fucking delight and was one of my first tv crushes. The whole joke is 'The Simpsons' set up of a Dumb Husband and Smart Wife. But 99 is fucking amazing. Due to when this show was aired and general sexism, she's not able to just solve every case for 86(on the left). But the audience is meant to know that She's the one doing all the work. She is sarcastic and witty, and not afraid to stick up against 86's ego and hot an ahhhhhhh. It's supposed to play against the trope of the 'useless' woman in Bond media, but she gets just as much development as her partner. We also see them build up their relationship over the course of five seasons into a loving couple, and 86 knows he's the one who got lucky. When she opens up she's highly passionate and a huge fucking nerd. They're both dorks and I love them.

She's also always willing to get in danger for her fail husband. Don't get me started on the awful movie adaptation.

You already know my thoughts if you've been following me for a while. The showrunner, writers, and actors all love this fuck up. He's a pleasure to write, and fuck, he's compelling. I know the magic of Izzy is how much we don't know, but I'll enjoy the ride while I'm here. It's not often that my favorite character is liked by the writers (Castiel, Supernatural), so I'm living for the welcoming community we've built online.

I want his gender, and that's okay! Please and thank you, with leather on top.

Special Mention: Jean Vicquemare- Disco Elysium. He and Izzy are the same sad man.

Jaskier(Dandelion)- The Witcher(All Media Types)

*Look* I've only seen the two seasons of the show. Jaskier is barely in it and sidelined as much as humanly possible. With that, I've spent two years of my life reading as much fanfic with him as the main character as I could consume. He is my first case of gender envy and the reason I've been listening to The Amazing Devils for 3 years. Jaskier is who I think I am in a friend group, sarcastic, bitchy, and judgy.

I am fully aware that he shines in the books. The show fucked over every aspect of Geralt and Jaskier's friendship, and honestly, I would have read the books if OFMD didn't come out when it did. I prefer the idea of Jaskier I've built in my head. He's been there for years, he might as well stay. He is an immortal half-elf and is Ciri's beloved uncle/third parent. This mess of a show won't take that from me.

Did he murder his brother over a family feud? Yeah, kinda. Is he the personification of an 'older sibling'? 100% Did Blizzard ignore a growing fanbase in 2016 and give us almost no lore about him beyond that? Yeah.

Just like with Jaskier, fan interpretation is what drives this fandom. He thrives as the fandoms emo bitch, and I like him so much.

Not a fandom I spend too much time in (besides now, where I spend most of my free time playing O2). But I always loved the general 'there are 50 ships in this fandom' vibe. (Also, throw Cassidy here, he deserves it)

Morrigan- Dragon Age (Spoilers Ahead for the video games Dragon Age: Origins, II, Inquisition)

If I was raised to be the 'spare', younger, body for an elven god mother, raised in a marsh, I would be just as socially fucked up as she is. She is a Bioware Tsundere, like most on this list, seems easy to read but complex once you crack that shell. Her story through the games is amazing and seeing her slowly learn the truth and accept who she is, is inspiring. Growing up I used to play as a male character just to romance her.

She doesn't need love to be happy in life. Just someone to support her in the bullshit that she's about to go through. Playing the game from a friend or lover's POV is rewarding (cough cough *Alistar*). When you do romance her, she's still sarcastic, insensitive, and herself. She doesn't see a reason to change for you (Alistar). She views love as stupid bullshit that will get you killed, and in this story, she's right!

If you fuck up in some story decisions, she still has agency and will leave you if her moral lines are crossed. Nowadays this is kinda common, but when I first played this game as a kid, I was afraid of doing the wrong thing and making my favorite character leave. My only issue is you can't romance her as a female Gray Warden. But Leliana is Bi in origins and is usually my first choice. She does a lot of shit I don't agree with though...

I wanted to send in a Stranger Things request, if that is okay with you. I’ll try to make this short enough, but let’s see where we end. My pronouns are she/her, I am bisexual, and 18+. My most defying traits are probably that I am a cat person, I am obsessed with learning new stuff about things I’ll never use (mythology, true crime, paranormal etc.), and I consider myself a huge nerd. I can be rather impatient, immature, and I tend to procrastinate and run away from responsibilities for as long as I can. I can’t sit quietly to save my life, so I always need to busy my hands. I draw, I paint, I sculpt, I do embroidery, but most of all; I consider myself a writer. I love writing as much as I love to read. I can rant about the things I love for hours, and will not know how to stop (ask me about Tolkien’s works, I dare you). I also cannot stand people chewing. I lose my mind when it’s something crunchy. I absolutely hate it and I can’t explain why.

A toxic trait is that I saw Queen live and I will never let anyone forget. I love going to concerts, and I thankfully have a music taste which allows me to go to concerts often. Well it's also fine to be awkward in general in these environment, like all 3 are "nerds" in a way and introverted. George is the most outgoing but he would still be considered introverted I'm pretty sure. Not everyone develops a taste for this life, it's fine if they end up liking it and going out more but I'd be a bit surprised.

the Mind Flayer injects a little bit of itself in Billy everyday but it's incomplete so, when Hopper and Joyce close the gate, Owen's people found out he's still alive, heart slow and loosing too much blood, but alive.

Max, tears dripping down her face, suddenly surges up to the closest medical officer, demands for them to 'save my brother!'

they did.

(but once Billy wakes up, two weeks later, he wishes they didn't, a fucking tentacle coming from his back--)

(Billy hates, hates, hates how he became a monster, in the end, his worst fears becoming a reality)

Billy, panicked and still convince he's still under him, lashes out and destroys everything his--his--the things can reach

Wakes up with a sobbing Max and a shaken El, the Chief and Harrington blurry figures behind them

Max reassuring him over and over, as he sobs in the middle of the night in a shitty hospital bed that first week after he wakes up, that 'no, you're not a monster, you may have done shitty things but you're not a monster, you're my brother, okay-'

El going to his hospital bed every day and telling him how he 'saved her, saved everyone that night,' and that he's 'a bitchin' hero--'

the fucking Chief of Police checking up on him whenever the doctors make Billy take tests for the--the fucking things behind his back

Harrington stumbling inside and honest-to-god rambling about nothing and everything all at once

(he doesn't tell them how he stabs at the things with a pen a nurse had left behind, watching with blank eyes as they healed. he both welcomes and loathes the pain, proof he's changed to this)

Which makes Billy want to hurl and scream and cry whenever he sees the four of them coming back because can't they see he's a monster now the voice that had whispered inside his mind was right--

Billy struggles with these new appendages, slowly grudgingly painstakingly mostly-accepting them because he'll always loathe how he got them from it

El helping him control them with Max, the Chief, and Harrington in the background, coaxing him to take breaks in between and calming him down (the other nerds joining in after he apologizes to them, to Sinclair most especially)

He doesn't like using them so, once he can properly move them, he tucks them away

Once, he's out of the hospital, he's given a small trailer beside Max's new place

Susan, who looks like a weight had lifted from her shoulders once Neil was gone, cries her sorries and prepares him food when she's not at work

Billy doesn't know how to feel about that so he avoids her (which is not that difficult because he mostly crashes at Steve's place now because he didn't want to be alone--)

Max and El start having sleepovers at La Casa Harrington, the other gremlins joining soon after they learned this new development

Steve is Exasperated TM (but Billy notices how Steve seems less tense when other people are around)

But, when he goes back to the trailer, Billy notices Eddie from across the street in the trailer home park, nods to him once in a while because he's blasting Metallica and Ozzy during some of the afternoons Billy's there

Hey! I would love to have a Stranger Things Match-up please! Strongly prefered with a male character.

About my appearance, I am quite tall for a girl, taller than most boys even, blonde hair, green eyes. A bit chubby too but currently working on that.

I, myself, would describe me as quite a brave and energetic person, even though I can be quick to back out due to overthinking. I am very loud as well and tend to be socially quite awkward, but open minded and my friends say I am a very caring and lovely person. For my Adhd I do take meds that can tire me out quickly, so I tend to sleep lots during the day and then spend the whole night awake. In that time I either read, draw, play games or listen to music.

Music is, besides art, one of my big passions. I listen to everything besides most Metal and Rap. I play Instruments too, the Piano, Violin, Ukulele and I sing as well.

Additionally to that I would describe myself as quite a nerd. I love Star Wars, Movies in General, Videogames and I am planning my first DnD campagne with friends atm.

Due to my high energy I can be sometimes hard to handle, that's why communication is very important to me. If a person can't talk to me and find solutions for problems, it's a very difficult friendship/relationship.

I value romance and I don't always need big words and actions in friendship and/or romance. For me it is also important that a person is okay with taking it slow, because I am completely inexperienced with that whole love and relationship stuff.

Eddie is quite an energetic person too and with him there’s no time to overthink.

Yeah. I'm willing to bet we get nothing onscreen so I'm gonna just roll with my gut.

Her name is Sara; she comes from the kind of money where it's absolutely immaterial where the initial pile of money came from. Railroads. Whatever. She didn't meet Jeryd through conventional circles, though, but through a dating app. They both immediately intimidated each other accidentally when they saw each other's profiles and started interacting. To this day, they remain stunned at how lucky they are to have found the other person. They truly appreciate each other at a lot of levels. Jeryd has annoying music tastes, Sara won't stop decorating, but they're really happy together.

Sara has a degree in communications and initially wanted to be a commentator on something like ATN. She's a very good talker, really good at crafting political language, she refines a lot of stuff with Jeryd, and she's incredibly important to his campaigns.

They have a son named Daniel (Danny) who is 13 years old and very awkward because his parents accidentally set a hugely difficult standard to live up to. He has no interest in just sitting around being rich or a president's son; that's not how they raised him. He wants to go into journalism, but he doesn't always agree with his parents on some things that will be very important. He also happens to be a huge dork and likes nerd stuff and D&D. His parents love him more than anything, it's a very positive familial relationship.

It's not like Jeryd purposely curated the happy family vibe, either; he spent some years apparently a bachelor worrying that he would be either hiding boyfriends or alone. Sara was a new start for him, one who understands that polyamory is the only way Jeryd can handle things. I'm pretty sure Danny knows in his own way, too, and takes no issue. Sara has queer partners but nothing committed; Jeryd generally just will have one guy on the side, max.

2022 ocs GO

This is Olive/Ollie (she/her) and her buddy Fred (he/him)

They don’t have much of a solid storyline yet, and also there was a third nerd with them (but they’ve been scrapped for now). For the most part they’re just kind of in my brain occasionally. I think I drew both of these in the back of a car. 

They’re both high school students and autistic. Contrary to expectations, both of them are fairly extroverted, although Ollie tends to be the more reserved of the two. They have a shared taste in music and want to make a band. Dunno how successful that’s been so far.

Ollie’s very much an art person. I imagine she likes making colorful art and dresses in a similarly bright style as well. She has an interest in cryptozoology and has a bunch of random odd information sitting in her brain.  She’s generally considered awkward and weird by people, but still tries to maintain a cheerful outlook. She’s at least found a good friend in Fred. Definitely believes in aliens. Her favorite school subjects... probably science and art. Not one for math, but competent with it.

Fred the Supreme Overlord. An outdoorsy type of person who likes playing baseball, even if he’s not very good at it. He composes music (too shy to show it to anyone but Ollie, though) and also loves talking science fiction.  He’s a friendly person but feels like he annoys or bores people. Certainly that’s not helped by his extremely poor coordination/gross motor skills and his bad habit of scratching his skin till it bleeds. But he’s not lonely anymore!  He works at a convenience or retail store over the summer. Probably hates school and can’t do math, but like Ollie he does much better in science classes.
