Some designs for an Avatar Legend of Korra/The Last Airbender generation swap AU!

Korra is now the 14 year old airbending Avatar, found a century after the Fire Nation started their war. She's found by Asami, a non-bending member of the Northern Water Tribe and together they set off to find Korra a way of mastering airbending, spirituality, and defeating the Fire Nation.

Bolin and Mako are children of the Fire Nation colonies, both forced to hide their bending (now firebending and earthbending respectively) and make whatever living they can as orphans until Bolin meets Korra and through hijinks, convinced Mako to let them accompany them.

Then Opal is the last waterbender of the Southern Water Tribe, fiercely protected and hidden away by her family despite her desperation to use her skill to help people, and Prince Wu is the disgracefully soft Fire Nation Prince, banished for speaking out about the war and forbidden to return until he captures the Avatar and regains his honour.

i go down a lot of youtube rabbit holes bc i love wasting my own time. the latest is a channel called "beirut explosion angles" that has over 900 recordings of the 2020 beirut explosion, all attributed to their original sources. it's one of the most comprehensive and fascinating pieces of archival work i've ever seen. where it starts to get strange is that it appears to have been created by two 13-year-old siblings (now 16-17ish) who simply hyperfixated on the event so strongly that they became the premiere journalistic sources on this topic. i guess they must have started the project together while home during quarantine lockdowns?? they currently have an instagram group chat for people from beirut who have been uncovering more footage even in 2024. and they made a weird unscripted video where the boy asked people who are here for the archival stuff to follow his gaming livestream channel with less than 10k subs.

    The more time time that Selby spent in Strangerville, the weirder everything seemed. She started investigating all of the mysteries and this eventually led her to the Mother. Selby became the Hero of Strangerville, but this negatively affected her relationship with her son. She spent most of his toddlerhood working to save the town which means she missed a lot of the early bonding moments. She decided to become a freelance programmer so that she had flexible scheduling and worked to be the best mom she could.

(I genuinely didn’t think to get the other sims proper outfits for the fight until I was taking the screenshots.)
