i wanna talk about this phenomenon cuz i’m sick of seeing it.

it’s become cliche to this point that in basically any atlus game, it will inevitably circle back to persona 5 in its criticism. somehow, despite it being YEARS since persona 5 came out, game journalists still manage to keep bringing it up, sometimes in blatantly stupid ways like the example shown here.
here’s the thing: this is bad criticism. anybody could tell you that. saying “this thing is worse because it’s not this other thing” is an emotional response to something you’d tell your friend, not a genuine piece of criticism you’d make about a product. i’m almost certain this author was aware of this. so why did they include it?
cuz people won’t stop fucking sharing these to fucking dunk on them.
seriously. without fail, the reason i learn these exist is never by reading the articles. i don’t really read game reviews from professional sites. i only know of these because people find these reviews and spread them around to every fan of atlus’s games, and everybody makes fun of how stupid the journalist is for making a dumb callback to persona 5. i’m willing to bet that’s also how most other people find these reviews too.
these game journalism sites want clicks. they want attention. they want people to spread around the silly persona 5 comparisons because that’s the only way a lot of people will actually see or care about the article. and people fall for it every goddamn time. and honestly, i’m just sick of it. i wish all persona and smt fans would just fucking ignore it when this happens, because i’m convinced that’s the only way it will ever stop happening.

actually you know what the blue team fans are making this event insufferable. god forbid a red team fan make a post wanting their team to win. None of the red team viewers here can talk about anything without blue team fans shitting on them. Blue team fans, you’ve gotta start watching media with a more critical eye because your constant horrible interpretations are turning this place to shit!! Badboyhalo specifically has been using shitty dirty tactics the whole event, and yes he’s allowed to do that but this post ain’t about him—it’s about YOU. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. he does anything there are a dozen posts like “oh i bet the red team fans are going to complain about this again when their tactics are even dirtier” like you can’t be serious have you been watching the same content as me?? Bad’s tactics have always been the dirtiest, out of anyone. Red team has barely done anything that could be considered dirty. There’s a reason why all of blue team’s wins have been super unsatisfying while red team’s victories always feel like a victory. Blue team not only plays dirty, takes advantage of bugs and lag, but also always acts like their in the right about it. The difference is, the actual ccs are doing rp, while the fandom is just being dicks. and if the red team does anything cool its “oh this is unfair the rules are so stacked against blue team” literally wtf is wrong with you. shut up shut up shut up. let red team fans make posts about strategy and winning and rules without people in their replies starting arguments. let red team fans complain about their favorite character dying from lag or whatever without blue team fans making neg posts about that like goddamn just let people enjoy the content. “oh but red team has more fans” tbh their fans are wayyyy more respectful from what i’ve seen on here. blue team enjoyers you’re just being shitty people at this point. you don’t need to complain about everything.

it continues to sincerely thoroughly baffle me that rise was (as far as i know?) the FIRST tmnt generation to canonically establish them as coming from different biological parents, being all different species, and yet not ONCE took advantage of it with a SINGLE yo mama joke among them. not even once. i consider this a major flaw because realistically considering their characters this should happen in every conversation.

Ref Sheets 2/?: Crossfire Edition!
Crossfire is about a young man named Jake, who recently got amnesia and is trying to regain his memories. In reality, he's actually an Angel that got cast out of Heaven and put into a Human body as a form of "time out", which is also technically part of a bet some other Angels have going on. Tldr this is the angel/demon story lol.
I wasn't able to draw a lot more characters this time, mainly because they come in later in the story and tbh I'm not 100% sure on their roles n shit yet. Except for Daniel, he appears early on and SHOULD be here but. alas.

i feel like im never going to be fully satisfied by any saw sequel (or the fanbase for that matter) bc i dont think the majority of ppl involved read jigsaw the same way i did.
#all these attempts to like humanize and flesh him out just end up totaly misrepresenting him and his goals#no he is not actually trying to improve the world hes a sadistic little man whos angry about dying and coping with it badly#he gets a front row seat to all his games and cuts trophies off his dead victims. bc he likes the violence#he puts people who absolutely DID NOT DESERVE IT (in saw 1 at least) in these elaborate death traps that they overwhelmingly fail to escape#sometimes he puts a completely innocent person in the crossfire (like seriously who is that guy who amanda had to kill to get her key)#hell they explicitly say that guy in the chair trap did nothing wrong he was just dying 'for a greater purpose' to test the trap.#but nobody ever acknowledges all this its just like 'what if we give him depth by saying serial killing isn't so bad'#and it never works and usually ends up with him being unbelievably self impressed and annoying#id honestly rather they explore his 'depth' by just. expanding on him as in denial and wanting revenge#which tbf i thought X was doing a decent job at until the last half hour when they threw the character study away entirely#like just give me a jigsaw who is angry at dying and takes it out on the Living because he has no other outlet. ill accept that.#him killing people who need to go can be like. gory tasteless fun in the sequels but it makes it like.#idk. less satisfying to me? or it just puts this wall up that makes the movies not come together the way the first one does.#avpost#movie diary

There's something delightfully fucked up about somehow binding people's consciousness to animatronics and then taking that a step further to turn part of your spirit or whatever into code to gain another form of immortality. I also Really dig the idea of Glitchtrap killing OG Afton - almost something poetic about the shift of power from Afton being killed by his own OpenAi-Powered fursona for me. But I guess he probably canonically died in Pizza Sim.
I like Help Wanted+SB era FNAF a lot more than the older games, but there's so many interesting things to carry forward from the old stuff too. My city now.
Oh that would be a hell of a narrative play for him to die like that ngl

#yeah there's some fun stuff back there#it's time to apply what has come from there to the new stuff though#for me anyway#literally every time someone 'solves' fnaf something comes along and butchers it we should know the cadence by now#that's just not fun for me. I like to make sense of what I can see and with the narratives I can form from the threads#i feel like I have actual characters to play around with now whereas before it was just.#OCs in the shape of the old animatronics because they didn't HAVE characters#it had an impact on me of course but it was the concepts of animal animatronics#of hiding things in plain sight and of arcades and play places with mascot characters that were always there to entertain#the themes of mystery and murders was fun too but it's. not a mystery we can solve anymore#i believe that's intentional#if people are forever trying to solve the lore then the game never dies.#that's just how the rehashing feels to me now :/#but that's just it isn't it?#that's what the story has become to me.#a story of a company making decisions for money and reputation over safety and common fucking sense#and it's fascinating to me to look at the characters caught in the crossfire#that can do NOTHING because of this giant fictional Disney holding the strings to their entire lives#maybe I've just been thinking about justice in Meteors and the elaborate cover ups too much recently#but SB and Ruin feel like the extreme results of a company that Does Not Care.#well there's still Glitchyboy and Vanny but even then...#I dunno. i like the story being the result of a company that couldn't care less#i like it being about what came from a generation they tried to move on from but chose to drag with them#i like the idea of them scrambling to solve problems CHEAPLY and not necessarily EFFICIENTLY#the true reality of a CEO that's never set foot into the world of the layperson or the world that they've created#a true group of fools in a board meeting discussing the shares of a covered up murder machine#those within this machine can only control their response. some of them don't even have that.#and yet somehow#SOMEHOW they're clinging on.#SOMEHOW they're still here.

It is in development videogame Crossfire at the Bridge. One more small game, written with QB64. Modern version of QBasic. Videogame is made with text mode. Style of very early computers. All graphics in a form of text. Letters and symbols have some meaning. For example, a cover, or a free road. Your soldiers or enemies.

Game is in development. Game is turn based. And about a military theme. Graphics is schematical. We have behind us a big bridge. Which you need to cross. It is order given to cross bridge at price of any cost. And already at the left part of the bridge, you already have 5 soldiers. They are marked with symbol – { or }. it depends on what side they look at.
Bridge itself is made of free cells. Or in a form of obstacles. Let it be a tank crest to be there, for example. It is symbol X or _ if place is free to move in. And at the opposite side, just before the exit - enemies soldiers are standing.

 All soldiers can shoot. Automatic rifles. They have machineguns, submachineguns.
And your goal is to move soldiers at the other side of the bridge. You have a reserve and you can pick out of it and move soldiers to the start of the bridge.

Idea of the game – to cross the bridge with any cost. And your soldiers need to use covers and shoot. And move at the other side. Aim of enemy – is not to give you to do this. Block the way, shoot at your soldiers.
Game has a schematical graphics. Textual view. And you can imagine using your imagining what ever you want. Personally me, I watched movies about second world war. And it was, in different movies, a scenes with crossfire at the bridge. Using of covers. Or scenes of descent to the shore. Where at the opposite side is enemy. And there are small places for cover. It was main idea of the game. Weapons – it is for everyone automatic rifles, machineguns, something like that.

Bridge, tank crests, cover places. And automatic guns, machineguns. And group of soldiers, that are crossing the bridge. And at the opposite - enemy, that do not give you this to do. So, this is a short description of the game.
Text game. It is playing turn by turn. First is making a turn – it is you, player.  Next it is enemy, computer. And in the end, it is to see game score. This is a view. How many are dead. How many soldiers are in reserve and how many soldiers has crossed the bridge.

One more time, this game is made its own way, variation about games Crest and Shooting, Rifles and Trenches. But again, one more time. Another way. New game. New rules. And new idea for a game. It is played like new. But, by the way, all the games are connected with theme of second world war. And crossfire. As a main idea.
If Crests and Shooting and Rifles and Trenches are rather different, but has some similar start ideas. But here it is all different from the first time. Another perspective. It is a big bridge. And full text graphics. In a selected games it was some graphics. But a little, and even 4 colors somewhere. Then it is here a text game. In a mode screen 1.

Game form appears as two parts. An upper part it shows what is it going at the game field. It is drawing a bridge. And there are all the soldiers there.
And lower part – it is interface. With several commands. Go left, right, up or down. And also, you can shoot. If ammo is out, then it will be reload. And call from reserve a new soldiers. Last option – it is new. You have in reserve 15 soldiers. And you can summon them, at the start of the bridge, someway. Summoned soldier will appear at the start of the bridge with the random place.

And so, it is - also a well know thing already. You need to move and shoot. Search for covers. Turn based mode. Text graphics.
Active soldier, which is moving now, he is lighted with symbol - <. And it flashing from time to time. You need to see carefully. So here it is perspective like a from a birds view.

Imagination can show to you a big bridge. And it has a different items. Covers, tank crests. Barrels. Or what else it can be. And your soldiers are running there, and hide behind the covers. And they do a crossfire with enemy. To cross the bridge.
So, mainly, you can play for your interest. And not to add soldiers from reserve at all. Or opposite, to add all of them from reserve at once. So, you will have lots of soldiers. It is whole 20. Game is complete, when all soldiers, that are located at the bridge, has cross the bridge. And it will be shown a game result. So, if to turn of some imagination, then you can create a different stories. And call for support, for example. When it is good for you. Add a new soldier. And this way they will step by step move to the end of the bridge.

Enemy is endless. And his aim – to break you while you cross the bridge. He walks. Shoot. So right now, I am testing about how ai will act.
And you can imagine that your soldiers are running from cover to cover. Crossing a long lines. And crouched, they sit under the covers. You can draw in your imagination a whole action movie about second world war. With automatic rifles, machineguns. Or, because of schematic graphics - whatever you want, as you wish. What your imagination can do. This point is very big about pure text games. A thing that you can apply your imagination. About what is going on around.
Game is turn based, so you can drink a tea. To look some scenes from action movies. And again, to make a turn. And, of course, – have a good imagination about what is going on.
