Deeply and Immovably So - No Chapter This Week (3/1)

Hi friends!

So chapter 9 ended up needing to be completely rewritten. I have a new idea that I want to explore, and while I am so excited to share it with all of you, I also have some family matters that came up that I need to attend to. So I will be AFK until Sunday afternoon. I'll have time to respond to comments and asks and the like, but I won't really have the time to dig into my fic until then.

That being said, I thought that I could, instead, write a short Rolan x Tav smut fic to tide all of you over. It would likely not go over 2,000 words, and while it will be part of the series Deeply and Immovably So, it wouldn't be part of the main fic itself. 2,000 words will be a lot more manageable than the very likely 10,000 word chapter I am looking at right now.

Random Battletech Question

So, as I make my way through Battletech lore via youtube videos, I find that it bugs me that discussions of the Age of War need to say that many of the records from the time period have been lost due to the conflicts going on at the time.

I understand that this is a necessary handwave cuz the devs haven't released a ton of info on the period, or on the consolidation of the Inner Sphere into what we know today, etc. And I understand why, since after all there were no BattleMechs and thus you can't play in that era.

Still, it bugs me, both because I don't quite buy the handwave, and because I want that lore! Granted, I don't play so...

(I know they did a mini-sourcebook for the Age of War)

Am I alone in this?

Erifef: it’s an utter classic. what two other characters get grossly misinterpreted just on their own besides vriska? asshole seadweller + asshole seadweller = hours of fun! these fish will tear each other apart emotionally and i am here for it.

This part wasn't proproganda, but it feels like it should be included, "let my girl feferi “some trolls are more equal than other trolls” peixes be as shitty as she is in canon. they both got woobified in fanon (i don’t know the state of fandom opinion now tbf) but i’m tired of it. not really a classic Toxic ship but that’s because no one shares my vision" thank you for this take stranger!

A Battletech Rant+Poll

Continuing my descent into Battltech Lore, I have decided that I hate the name given to the Draconis Combine's military.

It's called the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery, and to me it sounds it is so very, very stupid. My initial assumption was that it's supposed to be a translation of something that sounds better in Japanese, but was told that this is not the case either in- or out-of-universe, so I am at a total loss.

The only other thing I could think of would be if they were trying to give ever faction's military a unique name and ran out of good ones, but no, something like half of them are either the XAF or AFX, with a few XDF's mixed in, and the Clans are all Clan X Touman.
