Crossfire is so funny to me bc the plot is "angels/demons are real and oh no i am one :/" BUT YOUR BEST FRIEND IS ALSO JUST. CASUALLY A MINOR DEITY WHOSE FATHER IS TRYING TO KILL THEM.
Completely UNRELATED to the angel/demon shit you got going on. Can u imagine. Just going "hey I think I'm an actual angel" & ur bff being like "ok cool. btw I'm a god and my dad is trying to kill me" INSANE

When I say Emory and Vincent are both "Cheshire" I wanna make it very very clear that it's just a ROLE to them. With everyone else (ie; Alice, Phineas, etc) they are supposed to be the actual Fables/Characters, whereas Emory & Vinny are more like actors taking on a role, hence them not being more like Cheshire or having atypical traits relating to him. So Emory is his regular cat self & Vince looks like he's cosplaying kinda — neither are supposed to look like a "human" Cheshire like how Charlie or Morphie are supposed to be the "human" versions of Hare & Dormouse.

[ AU: This Life is Mine ]
⚠️ THIS IS A MaDD BLOG!! FANDOM DNI ⚠️
A M@rvel AU following the events of [movie]. A lot happens but the tldr is that Gobby & Normie get different bodies thanks to their universe's version of [this dude]. The AU follows Goblin as he learns to have a life of his own. It's mostly random scenarios that are loosely connected — honestly, it can be viewed as a bunch of AUs stacked on top of each other at this point.
But this is one of the Arcs/AUs! It's quite a bit into the timeline, so I'm gonna skip over some stuff but the only important thing is that Goblin is now called Salem Green & works at an animal shelter. There he meets Claude Kingsley, and they immediately hit it off. Claude does not have the best home life, so Salem eventually accidentally becomes a parental figure towards them. And since Salem is also a vigilante — Changeling — he takes Claude under his wing and teaches them how to fight crime, making Claude his sidekick. They are cute, and very chaotic together.
We've only just recently managed to work Emory into the plot — much to his annoyance — so there isn't much with him other than he's uh. magic. A powerful wizard dude, basically. idk how he meets Salem & Claude yet, but it's probably something to do with Salem being a fae creature thing.

THE BIG SONG RANKING
ladies and gentlemen, to make good on my promise to @daniel-profeta, a list of my 40 favorite songs.
Tumblr media
TIER 1 - GOD TIER:
“No Children” - Mountain Goats
Made me cry, made me feel seen, made me feel like a grape in a microwave, cooking from the inside out, dying on the vine, stuck in a box, about to explode, glowing with light. Made me confront my family life, made me ascend to a higher plane of being, made me a sad bastard.
“Staring At the Sun” - U2
I wish I had written these lyrics. I spend 90% of my life in denial so I felt very targeted by this song. I fly up in preparation whenever I hear it starting, and remain floating for the entire song, drifting in the ribbon clouds.
“It’s Alright” - Jack Stauber
This song just grabbed the otherworldly concept of placid hopelessness and frantic optimism and blended it all up in a blender and released a thousand screaming beautiful animals like sun spots on your eyelids in an empty indoor water park where you go skinny dipping with your favorite person and everything feels warm and electric.
“Only Skin” - Joanna Newsom
I have listened to this song probably over 40 times (and it’s 16 minutes long! So that’s 10 hours) and the lyrical tapestry of it is still an explosive mystery to me. It makes me weep and be very happy to be a woman because my body and brain are twisting in a living fairytale fever dream.
“Oh Comely” - Neutral Milk Hotel
How the fuck is this song about so many things and yet one thing. It is some of the most beautiful poetry I have ever had the pleasure of washing over me. Especially the part where it turns into a story about Hansel and Gretel freezing to death after they run away from the circus. See what I mean? It’s about so many things, but it’s about one thing. One solid feeling that you can’t get anywhere else.
“Hey” - Pixies
This song is a screaming roller coaster like an apocalyptic car ride down into the red and blue twilight city, divorce, and the Devil tarot card. Does that not sound like a good time?
“Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing Reprise” - David Bowie
This may be cheating, since it’s 3 songs, but the instrumentals in this suite are INSANE, the lyrics are SO FUCKING RESONANT I’M LITERALLY RESONATING, and Bowie is vocal goals here. Wailing makes everything better. “With you by my side it should be fine. / We’ll buy some drugs and watch a band, / then jump in the river holding hands.”
“Never Let Go” - Tom Waits
You know a song is magnificent when it can be both a loud tavern song and a quiet campfire song. This one reminds me of my father, so I can’t say too much else for fear of revealing my bias. But it’s beautiful, and like all Tom Waits, gives weepy 1930s vibes.
“All Eyes On Me” - Bo Burnham
Y'all ready to retreat into the dream and slowly disintegrate as we assimilate into the digital opiate hivemind in death as natural as a river at the end of the world? Because when I listen to this song, I feel fucking HYPED.
“Liquid Smooth” - Mitski
This is a song about Mary and you cannot change my mind. It is achingly powerful and desperate, ringing with the fear of death and ugliness and impotence, the intense and inescapable body horror of our mere existence as bags of throbbing flesh, the bottomless maw of sex.
TIER 2 - FUCK YEAH TIER:
“Rainbow Connection” - Kermie Da Frog :D (Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher)
This song always makes me smile, and I am proud to be a writer. I feel strong.
“Rock ‘N’ Roll Suicide” - David Bowie
The fumbling and melancholy mundanity that builds into such a beautiful plea for understanding and empathy. I get the sense that everyone who has ever reached out their hands is reaching out for a reason. They hold that reason tight to their chests and ride it into the ethereal plane. “Oh no love, you’re not alone!” The scream is so powerful. We are all David After Dentist. Even David.
“As The World Caves In” - Matt Maltese
Similar thematically to the last entry. Words cannot describe the feelings that the story in this song gives me. “It’s you. / That I lie with.”
“Freedom” - Teddy Hyde
This song is downright picturesque. The sentiment is beautiful, the instrumental is meltingly lovely. And oh my god the horn part. You are not prepared for this, it will pulverize you (tenderly).
“Down By the Side of the Road” - John Prine
This one is definitely about Mary, and it’s one of my favorite stories I’ve ever heard. I highly recommend listening to this, it is the missing link in a long line of ghost stories.
“Toes” - Glass Animals
You ever just wanna feel all the horror of The Island of Dr. Moreau PLUS The Most Dangerous Game in less than 5 minutes? Well with Toes by Glass Animals, now you can!!!
“The Sick Bed of Cuchulainn” - The Pogues
THIS SONG MAKES ME FERAL. GRRRRRRRRR.
“I Bleed” - Pixies
This is my favorite Pixies song, despite the fact that Hey is probably better. I love the desert. I love coterminosity and cyclical time. I love devolving into the fluid consciousness of the past! And I love the weird, dissonant harmony in the final chorus.
“505” - Arctic Monkeys
I’m in love again. The smoky hotel rooms and wet streets. I’m drifting away, catch me. Or don’t.
“Pizza Boy” - Jack Stauber
The perfect song to sing for any empty room, rainy day, life change, mental breakdown, or lovely person. And sway away.
TIER 3 - HELL YEAH TIER:
“Los Ageless” - St. Vincent
This is just a really really really good song about Los Angeles that has some of the sickest guitar I’ve ever heard. It also happens to be one of the horniest songs I’ve ever heard, and I would not trade it for anything.
“Body of Years” - Mother Mother
Every writer should hear this song.
“Rockets fall on Rocket Falls” - Godspeed You! Black Emperor
The first instrumental on this list, because I generally prefer lyrical songs, but this song tells a story in its own right. I feel like I’ve listed a lot of apocalyptic pieces so far, and this is perhaps the apotheosis of apocalyptic vibe.
“How Long” - Anais Mitchell
There is a deep kind of mystery to this song that is not in the other songs on Hadestown. A sense of inscrutability, despair, and wide separation that not even love can fully heal. A sense of bitter and cold resignation. And an amazing chorus, both lyrically and melodically, that builds with vocal layering and lyrical changes in a way that just makes me so fucking happy.
“Life During Wartime” - Talking Heads
The lyrical world of this song is so expansive and immersive and exciting and escapist and terrifying. It’s so fucking fun, it makes me want to jump around and get all sweaty.
“Love Love Love” - Mountain Goats
Raskolnikov reference, automatic W.
“One Summer’s Day” - Joe Hisaishi
I have extremely nostalgic attachments to this beautiful piano piece from my favorite animated movie, which is also the movie I happened to watch before leaving for college, appropriately.
“Atlantic City” - Bruce Springsteen
WOAH BREKAING BAD REFERENCE? This song low key gives me the same narrative and visual vibes as Hey, only with very different lyrical sensibilities. A beautiful, mournful melody and lyrics packed with sharp, astute characterization and wistful, desolate imagery.
“Wriggle” - Cosmo Sheldrake
Gospel song. Baptism song. Edward Lear would be proud. I am screaming and cheering.
“The Mind Electric” - Miracle Musical / ミラクルミュージカル
SEE HOW THE SERFS WORK THE GROUND AND THEY GIVE IT ALL THEY’VE GOT AND THEY GIVE IT ALL THEY’VE GOT AND YOU GIVE IT ALL YOU’VE GOT TIL YOU’RE DOWN SEE HOW THE BRAIN PLAYS AROUND AND YOU FALL INSIDE A HOLE YOU COULDN’T SEE AND YOU FALL INSIDE A HOLE INSIDE A SOMEONE HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHAT’S GOING ON INSIDE MY MIND DOCTOR I CAN’T TELL IF I’M NOT ME
TIER 4 - LET’S GOOOO TIER:
“Pepper” - Butthole Surfers
Something tells me this fountain was not made by the hands of man… idk though… this song makes me want to die in a parking lot on a summer afternoon.
“Dead Flowers” - The Rolling Stones
No explanation needed.
“An Open Letter to a Ruby-Shoed Pixie” - Teddy Hyde
Incredibly well written, the poetic flow is astounding. You can tell it comes from a place of raw and tender unfiltered love and that’s impossible to ignore.
“Hymn 131,513” - Daniel Profeta
The force with which this song is vaulted into the world is unparalleled. You can feel the heart pumping behind it. The lyrics tumble into each other, each truer than the last. Weird tangent--the “look above you, I’m never far” obviously implies some satanic or corrupt element, but I am also kind of obsessed with the idea that this God is simply chthonic. We’ve had too many sky daddies, we need more earthly pantheons. We need to walk on the gods. “Bury me a thousand feet deep in a form-fitting coffin an inch shorter than me.”
“Sunny Afternoon” - The Kinks
I’m partially nostalgic for this song, but also, I think it’s one of the best the Kinks have to offer. It’s just an utter vibe from beginning to end. I feel like I’m sliding down a half-medicated poolside chair into the rotisserie pit of my own mistakes.
“Moonsickness” - Penelope Scott
From the first line this is extremely relatable. Penelope Scott managed to write a song about periods and womanhood that is about so much more than that, that is universally relatable and painful.
“Sundial” - Lemon Demon
There’s just something I can’t describe about this song--the lyrics, the unique rotating melodies, all feel so quirky and fun and engaging.
“Paris 1919” - John Cale
We are all ghosts dancing to this song, “down on darkened meetings on the Champs-Elysees.”
“I’m Always In Love” - Wilco
Describes me to a T. I have problems. And you know I had to put Wilco on here.
“You’re Mine” - DAGames
Don’t eat ass in the halls.
Phew. That's it.
I wanted to put a Clipping song on here but I feel like I haven’t explored their catalog sufficiently yet. I also wanted to put an Advance Base song, but that might be one of those situations where none of his songs stand out tremendously, but Nephew in the Wild is still one of my favorite albums.
Thank you to @my-ancient-marss and again to Daniel Profeta for the inspiration for this list. It was a lot of fun to sift through and organize, and I definitely have a new appreciation for some of the songs on this list. Anyway, I hope others will follow suit. See you all on the flipside!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2022: THE TOP TEN
Greetings, Creatures of the Night! Once again it is that time of year where we reflect back and check in on what films are rocking the top ten of Scream’s Scene list of best to worst horror films of all time! (all time defined as 1895-1959) If you’re looking for some genuine classics to check out this year, we’ve got you covered, with running times and where to find them!
#10. Körkarlen (1921)
The Phantom Carriage is a haunting exploration of the horrors of alcoholism, domestic abuse, poverty, and tuberculosis as well as a critique of Christian naiveté while simultaneously an encouragement of spiritual moral values. It has the tone and pace of a dirge, as it seeks to imprint its message on your very soul. All wrapped up in a chilling story of New Year’s Eve and the spectre of Death! The Phantom Carriage is available to stream on The Criterion Channel, and to rent for $5.49 on Pantaflix. 1h 30m.
#9. Tōkaidō Yotsuya Kaidan (1959)
The kabuki play Tōkaidō Yotsuya Kaidan has been adapted to film many times, but perhaps none reach the heights of horror as Nobuo Nakagawa’s colour adaptation. Inspired both by kabuki and by the lurid style of Hammer Horror, this version of the classic Japanese ghost story delivers on a stylish, entertaining, and spooky story of haunting and revenge! Tōkaidō Yotsuya Kaidan is available to stream on The Criterion Channel. 1h 16m.
#8. I Walked With a Zombie (1943)
The second Val Lewton produced film on the list, I Walked With a Zombie is perhaps best described as Jane Eyre in the Caribbean, but what is surprising is that the film is also a well researched depiction of Voodoo practices for 1943. The haunting imagery, sparse sound design, and dreamlike poeticism of this film might make it among the most unique zombie movies you’ve ever seen, made in a time with zombies were supernatural undead slaves, instead of reanimated undead cannibals. Do yourself a favour and check it out - it’s available to buy online in SD for $9.99 from Apple iTunes, and $14.99 on Amazon Video, Google Play Movies and YouTube. 1h 8m.
#7. The Old Dark House (1932)
James Whale’s definitive take on this traditional mystery thriller formula is a movie that will have you laughing right until the moment it has you screaming. In some ways, it’s a movie of clichés, with the protagonists seeking shelter in an old mansion during a rainstorm in the night and having to deal with the reclusive family they find within. But the dark, brooding cinematography, and truly shocking twists that rivet up the intensity over the running time, all contribute to make this a harrowing watch. It’s one part Rocky Horror Picture Show, one part The Addams Family, and one part The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. I’m not kidding. The Old Dark House is currently streaming on AMC+, Fandor, Flix Fling, and Tubi. 1h 10m.
#6. Horror of Dracula (1958)
Hammer Films had been producing X-rated horror and sci-fi content for a while by the time they got around to producing an adaptation of Dracula, but everything they learned from the success of The Curse of Frankenstein they applied tenfold to Dracula. From the subversive opening act to the shockingly graphic (for the time) finale, this film is full of action and excitement, as well as a sexually feral Count played by Christopher Lee for the first time. A Halloween crowd pleaser! Horror of Dracula is available to rent for $4.99 on Apple iTunes, Cineplex, Google Play Movies, Microsoft Store, and YouTube. 1h 22m.
#5. The Spiral Staircase (1946)
This RKO classic is another great take on the old dark house subgenre, from noir director Robert Siodmak. A masterpiece of suspense, featuring wonderful production design and dynamite performances from its cast, this movie will draw you in to the world of a mute servant named Helen trapped in a dark manor on a stormy night with a whole cast of lunatics! A forerunner of giallo (no, really!), this classic and classy thriller is not to be missed! The Spiral Staircase is currently streaming on Flix Fling. 1h 23m.
#4. The Fly (1958)
While the 1986 remake may be more well known today, the original rendition of this body horror classic still retains a punch with its central mystery, compelling drama, and traumatic ending. Excellent creature effects and memorable moments like a woman screaming seen through compound eyes cement this as one of the great sci-fi/horror films of its time! The Fly is currently available to rent for $4.99 on Apple iTunes, Google Play Movies, Microsoft Store, and YouTube. 1h 34m.
#3. Gojira (1954)
Ishiro Honda’s classic giant monster movie, the progenitor of all kaiju and tokusatsu movies to come, is a masterpiece of ingenuity and imagination. But more than that, it’s a powerful statement about the horrors of nuclear war, an angry and relentless funeral dirge mourning for the Japanese lives lost and raging against the American foreign policy that continued to poison Japan with radiation even after the war. Godzilla is an apocalypse personified, the great revenge of the natural world against the hubris of man that has harmed it. But Gojira is also a film about the immense weight of personal and scientific responsibility weighed against the greater good, and its position on the use of weapons of mass destruction is perhaps more nuanced than you’d expect. Don’t let the campy reputation of Godzilla in the West fool you. Clear your mind of that and sit down to watch this powerful black & white epic. Gojira is streaming on Crave, The Criterion Channel, Plex, and Starz, and can be rented for $4.99 on Apple iTunes. 1h 38m.
The American adaptation Godzilla, King of the Monsters! (1956) is also worth a watch, and is available on The Criterion Channel, Plex, Tubi, and to rent on iTunes.1h 20m.
#2. Cat People (1942)
Cat People is brilliant. The first of Val Lewton’s horror movies for RKO, it best exemplifies his shadow drenched, suggestive, adult, contemporary, and ambiguous brand of horror. Irena is convinced that if she experiences sexual excitement, she will turn into a black panther and kill the man she loves. Her husband is convinced it’s all in her head. What is the truth? Cat People gives the viewer plenty to chew on while being the first horror movie to understand that less is more, that the monster is scarier if you can’t see it, and also how to pull off a jump scare. You can find this absolute classic to stream on Amazon Prime, and to purchase for $9.99 on Apple iTunes, Google Play Movies, and YouTube. 1h 10m.
#1. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931)
SIX YEARS RUNNING! Early on in the first Hollywood horror craze, Paramount Pictures managed to outdo their main competitor Universal with this masterpiece from director Rouben Mamoulian. With a use of sound, visuals, effects, script, and performance far beyond what most films were doing at the time, this adaptation reigns supreme among other versions of the same story. Fredric March utterly inhabits the dual title role, but it’s Miriam Hopkins’ performance that will stick with you in this superb examination of domestic abuse, alcoholism, and the beast that dwells within us. Currently for rent in SD on Apple iTunes, Google Play Movies, Microsoft Store, and YouTube for $4.99. 1h 38m. A new top ten for a new year, Creatures of the Night! But will Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde ever be knocked from it’s lofty perch? Keep tuning in to Scream Scene each week on Wednesday to find out! Happy Halloween everybody!

Unfortunately, they get separated, and are trying to find each other in the background of Eternal Labyrinth (Phanta/MaaC/FF).
The only ones not pictured are Eloise & Fifi, because I have 0 ideas for them atm.
You can view their toyhouse profiles here.

I think im just gonna scrap Jasper entirely. I mean, Emory is right there. It doesn't really make sense for both of them to exist. So. Emory is going to be Cheshire for Phineas & Alice, and then when Finnegan comes to Wonderland Vincent will be Cheshire. This also means that Vinny can't be in MaaC (like Emory he has no Alternates) but that was more of an AU anyway, plus he can always be an actor since LIW is a TV show in that verse.
This also means that Silver (Jasper's wife) and Violet (their daughter) will also be scrapped as im pretty sure Emory is aroace?? He has no desire for a romantic relationship or even children. I suppose Delilah can be with him to replace Violet but idk since, again, Vincent is taking over the role when Finnegan enters.

Phantom of the Opera (Anthony Bridgerton x Reader) Chapter Six
Summary: Lady (Name) Granville, daughter and only heir of Duke Granville just arrived back for this season from her tour in Europe. However, she came back to London with a secret. And it seems Anthony Bridgerton just found out that secret.
Word count: 1116
Warnings: fluff, romance, angst
Tumblr media
It took you by surprise when Lord Vincent de Trafford appeared at your door. He was one of the eligible bachelors interested in finding a wife this season. You danced with him once and he was likeable. But he was no Anthony Bridgerton. You hated yourself for still thinking about him just like now, when you were standing in front of Lord Trafford. As you looked up at him, you had to strain your neck but his bright smile made you forget about it.
“Lady Granville, I asked Lady Danbury if I could join the two of you to promenade in Hyde Park today with my mother and younger sister.”
His deep voice was caressing your ears as he spoke. His smile was so bewitching, everyone was smitten with him but lately during all the balls since he and his family arrived, his attention seemed to be solely on you. His presence drew everyone’s attention especially because of his mysterious background no one really knew about.
Your heart flattered in your chest as you tried to find the words of agreement.
“And I agreed to it.” your aunt walked out from the drawing room. “Are you ready, my dear? Ophelia and Margaret are waiting for us outside.”
With a simple nod, you intertwined your arm with your aunt and let her lead you to the carriage outside. Lady Danbury seemed like she had a plan in her mind because the other day she was warning you about Lord Trafford and now she was ready to let him close to you. The ride to the park was filled with small talk and you tried to pay attention to it so you could respond respectfully to any questions asked. Getting out of your head was quite hard these days.
After Sienna asked you to give up your dreams, you thought over her reasons and left the theatre. Ever since then, you felt numb. The only thing you truly enjoyed in life was taken from you because of your simple existence. Having responsibilities you never asked for but was forced into, made you feel bitter. Your anger soon died out, however, leaving only numbness behind. It has always been like that. You got angry quickly but it just as quickly snuffed out and you accepted how things were. Reality hit you hard that way sometimes but that is life and one has to move on if they want to experience other things as well.
Once you arrived at Hyde Park, you felt relieved, the carriage was crowded with all five of you inside besides, you were still not used to Lord Trafford. He was a stranger after all. Your eyes widened at that. Wasn’t Anthony a stranger as well in that sense?
“Lady Granville, we haven’t had time to talk ever since the play-hunt.” Lord Trafford smiled gently down at you. “How are you fairing? Have you read anything interesting lately?”
“Actually I quite enjoyed the latest poems of Lord Kershaw. He is a unique talent.” you replied. “Do you enjoy poetry or do you prefer novels?”
“It depends on the author. It is not the genre but the style that piques my interest.” he said as he stared ahead, Lady Danbury and his family behind the pair of you. The weather was nice, there were only a few white puffy clouds in the blue sky. This environment felt peaceful like this. You didn’t need to be on guard by Lord Trafford’s side, you didn’t need to think about ulterior motives.
Then, as you listened to Lord Trafford’s musings about literature, your eyes landed on three familiar figures in the distance. Benedict Bridgerton was telling his brothers about his latest story when your eyes met with Anthony’s. His brown eyes were trained on you, his smile that lighted up his handsome face by the funny story only brightened when your eyes met his. Your heart skipped a beat and you quickly turned your head avoiding further eye contact.
He only made your life miserable so far, you shouldn’t be spending even just a second thinking about him. As you walked with Lord Trafford and his family, you slowly seemed to ease into a tranquil conversation. Your heart slowed down its pace and small smiles and chuckles left your lips when the lord made a few jokes.
Your group found a perfect spot for your picnic, sandwiches and small cakes were passed while conversation flowed. Then suddenly, a ball hit the back of your head making you spill tea on your dress as you sat on the blanket.
“Hyacinth!” a familiar voice cried out partially from anger. You looked back still in surprise to see little Hyacinth standing a distance away, staring at you in fear. Then came running up to her a frustrated looking Anthony Bridgerton with furrowed eyebrows. He crouched down to her level, said something to her and then held her hand and led her toward your group.
You stayed put, your heart beating so rapidly in your chest at the sight of Anthony you thought it would jump right out of your body. He greeted everyone with a dashing smile and then looked to Hyacinth and encouraged her to apologise.
“Hyacinth came here to apologise for being careless when playing, right Hyacinth?”
As you looked at him, your mind was filled with thoughts of how much Anthony looked like a father. Shaking your head a little to clear your head, you smiled at them and listened to Hyacinth’s apology. She looked ready to burst into tears, her lips pouted and her cheeks grew red.
“I-I… I’m really sorry!” she cried out and then hid behind Anthony’s legs. You smiled at her and reached out for her to grab your hands.
“It is quite alright, darling, no harm was done. Are you alright as well?”
Hyacinth seemed to calm down seeing your reaction and soon she was sitting in your lap. Then Lady Danbury spoke up:
“Lord Bridgerton, why are you not joining us?”
There was a pause in the air, then he cleared his throat and said: “I would not want to impose on-”
“Brother, you shouldn’t say no to a lady when she invited you herself.” Benedict Bridgerton clapped his hand on Anthony’s shoulder with a wide grin on his face. Lady Danbury laughed and motioned for you to move over to her side. Benedict pushed Anthony down next to you before his brother could protest. It was way too obvious that Lady Danbury and Benedict Bridgerton were in on something but you couldn’t help but focus on the close proximity you found yourself in with Anthony.
You knew you were doomed.
