There was no more detrimental consequence of our childhood abandonment than being forced to habitually hide our authentic selves. Many of us come out of childhood believing that what we have to say is as uninteresting to others as it was to our parents. We must repudiate this damaging legacy of the past.

Just saw that poll about ST characters and spooning and the folks doing the polls were like 'Billy would hate affection, he'd sooner punch his partner than be cuddled' and 'He'd never get emotional in front of his partner unless he was in the middle of an uncontrollable breakdown'. Like, tell me you don't understand his character without telling me you don't understand his character.
His last scene with El clearly shows he's touch starved as hell and probably only gets affection from sexual encounters. He just isn't wanting a relationship with some random person who hasn't earned his trust enough for him to put his guard down. (My headcanon is that he tried a relationship at least once and let his guard down enough that he told his partner about his father's abuse, only for said partner to assume he deserved the abuse otherwise it wouldn't happen, and ever since then Billy has been even more guarded about who he trusts enough to get close to him.)

One night into October, and our moonflowers finally bloomed. What an auspicious entrance to spooky season. A very merry Haunting of Bly Manor to all who celebrate.

Me, doing a double take after watching the trailer, spilling coffee all over self and scaring my poor dog off my lap (they're fine by the way):
Me: *ignores burns, breaks out the Twilight Princess Manga, does a second double take after going frame by frame on Link's/Wild's arm, mentally comparing both spirals*
Also Me: So was anyone going to tell us Link's/Wild's Zonai arm matches and looks like the Interlopers/Twili in design, or were we just supposed to find that out ourselves?

@unbeleveable the little mermaid au bc we're gay and we like mermaids shut up 🐟
She enjoyed the sea, for the most part. Marisa enjoyed breathing in the air, the sound of the waves, how nice the water felt (although she didn't enjoy it in her hair, as the salty smell lingered in it). They were traveling home after a long journey, Marisa being hinted at again by her majordomo, after receiving a birthday present of a portrait of her. While the portrait was lovely, his comment wasn't.
"I wish it could be a wedding present." he chuckled.
"I don't believe I'm suitable for marriage, Thorold." she insisted. "Besides, my mother wasn't married for most of her reign. Why should I have to be?"
Tumblr media
"But she was married at first." Thorold pointed out. "Being a queen who was widowed is very different from being a queen that never married." His expression was soft and subtly concerned. "All I'm saying is that now that you're Queen, Your Majesty, there are different expectations of you. Your mother produced an heir, and you will be expected to do the same. Besides, I think you would flourish if you were in love." He smiled.
Marisa looked out into the sea, leaning on the ship's railing.
"I don't think I know what love is." she murmured.

remembering how everytime Neil came anywhere close to feeling comfort or safety, the ghost of his mother haunted him.
Tumblr media
then how when Neil finally started allowing himself to get close to the feeling of safety and comfort, it's Andrew's promises of a future that started haunting him.

ngl I think the biggest thing that helps when overcoming fears revolving around things like for example spiders or animals usually depicted in bad faith is to learn about them. like no joke, that’s the biggest thing that helped me get over my fear of spiders is learning about them and growing an understanding that they are quite literally just as vulnerable creatures as any other. we are both creatures on this earth just trying to survive. also learning about any animal is very fun and building an understanding helps how you see and interact with things. but mainly learning about wildlife good fun.

''A fawn type/codependent is usually the child of at least one narcissistic parent. The narcissist reverses the parent-child relationship. The child is parentified and takes care of the needs of the parent, who acts like a needy and sometimes tantruming child.
When this occurs, the child may be turned into the parent’s confidant, substitute spouse, coach, or housekeeper. Or, she may be pressed into service to mother the younger siblings. In worst case scenarios, she may be exploited sexually.
Some codependent children adapt by becoming entertaining. Accordingly, the child learns to be the court jester and is unofficially put in charge of keeping his parent happy.
Pressing a child into codependent service usually involves scaring and shaming him out of developing a sense of self. Of all the 4F types, fawn types are the most developmentally arrested in their healthy sense of self.''

Desert island AU for the t$$ gang?
Despite having next-to-no wilderness skills, Jericho stays the most level headed. He keeps his thoughts away from panic or anxiety at their situation by ensuring everyone stays healthy and safe (to the best of his ability)
Kaius knows a little about bushcraft through books and research. He's almost as calm as Jericho, but loses points for being snarkier than normal. (He insults people when he's on edge)
Joy is low-key excited (underneath the worry that they'll never get home) since this is something she's always had in the back of her head that she needs to be prepared for (kind of like sharks and quicksand). She'd be a lifesaver when it came to constructing shelters and coming up with tools/systems for the team to use
Hunter would be the one who'd secretly stop eating/sneak more food into the others' rations if things started getting rough. He doesn't have a lot of knowledge, and sees himself as both the most expendable, and the one who can handle it the best
Benji keeps morale alive with stories and songs. (He tried sea shanties at first to fit the scene, but he only knows two and started getting lightheartedly booed whenever he started one). This is one of the few scenarios where he might hide an injury/illness, since the others are already working hard and he doesn't want anyone to worry

sorry but i dont know how anyone can take dr ramani seriously why do so many ppl think shes credible just bc she has a youtube and a doctorate. i regret to inform you that even educated ppl can record themselves saying a bunch of bullshit and post it online for clout. she literally uses narcissism to describe any sort of behavior on earth. i can hardly get thru 5 minutes of her videos bc she is literally just saying "narcissists narcissism grandiose narcissist" over and over. if you made up a drinking game of this you would die within minutes. that is not information that is word salad
