The last gleam of fading summer. I made the chiton dress from the leftovers of another project. Who remembers the blue fabric I tried to bleach this summer? Well, this is the result and I love the new colour so much! Due to me using different brands of bleach it did not came out even, resulting in a subtle but lovely gradient. while usually all my jewelry ist silver, I found the gold stampings to be a lovely accent on the soft rose colour. I am still doing the hems, which takes time because being me I do them by hand, but I took the opportunity to take some pictures with the belt (that will soon go to the etsy shop) while it still has warmer days. This photo has two pieces that I inherited from familiy members: my Grandmother's Amber necklace that I wear in my hair and the gothic harp from my great aunt and harp teacher. I miss both these grand old ladies a lot, and I am glad to have these little mememtos in my life. Has anyone noticed a sudden shift in the weather? The last few days the weather has felt notably more chillier and dare I say it more autumnal. Although I know this is mother natures little trick. She usually has us believing that the weather is now on the turn so that we put all of our summer clothes away and prepare for autumn. Only to lob the last few weeks of summer at us come late August to Early September. I am wise to her tricks now, so I won’t be putting away my summer clothes just yet. I’m now sat at home reminiscing of my lovely few days away to Rye and the Sussex Coast. We stayed in The Mermaid Inn which is said to be haunted. Funny story, the room we were staying in was apparently haunted by a lady in white. She said to walk across the room, only to stop at the foot of the bed. Before making her slow way across the room. Although we didn’t catch any sightings of any paranormal activity during our stay there. One might say I took up the mantle of the resident ghost in my Victorian style white nightgown that I bought purposely for photographs. Call me eccentric, but I just wanted to have a little fun. Although I have to admit I did scare myself when I woke up in the middle of the night and saw my white nightgown hanging up on the wardrobe door and mistook it for the ghost herself. . . .
