You reblogged that post so now I have to answer (also tw bc I’m talking abt toxic relationships): I don’t remember which character but I literally loved it and it just. Meant so much. But there was a lil blurb you did about r’s ex not letting her have a phone? And her being sentimental when whichever character was like “you need a new one” but he was kind when he realized why she had kept it and omg I just. I love that. It’s so hard coming from a relationship like that and going into dating, it feels so scary and just so panic inducing but that little thing was just a small reminder of like “hey no sometimes it’s great and normal partners are patient and kind and do not get angry or take away vital communication with others because they’re jealous. They don’t punish you for stuff that’s mundane. This is normal and soft and loving and how it should be” like I didn’t have someone I completely trusted with everything, my therapist actually called it mutual gaslighting at one point because of how they would manipulate me and then convince others to just—idk it means a lot to see characters take recognition that it isn’t okay and it just made me feel very reassured and safe. So thank you and that’s what I remember your writing as. Safe. Calm.

I’m sorry this got rambly and probably nonsensical and honestly kinda trauma dumpy but idk you deserve to have someone recognize that interactions like that mean the world to me and I’m happy you have them. It just helps solidify like “no this is what it’s SUPPOSED to be like”. Healthy relationships only in this house.

I recently spoke to a friend about how patience is one of those things that feels very important and that inacting patience like -- it's easy to say that patience is the bare minimum and it is but it's also so much more it's this generosity we have to give others. Everyone DESERVES to be met with patience and understanding, but these are also things we have to practice, and when you've just come out of a situation like that where someone has been cruel to you and changed your perception of yourself or really just made you feel like the world isn't what you thought or WORSE that you aren't what you thought, patience is invaluable

I'm never going to be perfect but I'm very very happy to try and write these healthy relationships between characters and show patience and compassion because we all deserve to be shown softness and treated with care
