So yeah that new helluva boss episode, its good.

I loved the little character moments that happened during it with bitz and fizzarolli making up for what happened in the past even just a little bit,

Even the smaller things like how when blitz insulted fiz and Asmodeus fizzarolli wanted to retaliate but didn't because he remembered Asmodeus. However when fizzarolli insulted blitz they attacked which probably was there to show the difference between the two.

Fizzarolli and Asmodeus love eachother, and while they have to hide said love under a guide of pure lust (since you know Asmodeus is the king of lust) they still deeply love eachother in a healthy way too.

However for blitz it's the opposite, he sees his relationship with Stolas as purely lust driven and not love (or at least he says it is, we don't know what that imp is thinking)

So this episode showing that fizzarolli and blitz are in a similar situation but with key differences. With all of that this could have some future foreshadowing with blitz and Stolas's relationship

I feel like more people need to talk about the fatphobia in Helluva Boss. Besides the"fat jokes aren't funny and are actually just assholish" conversations, making Mammon be fatphobic towards Fizz just doesn't have the same impact as Vivzie intended it to have or really an impact at all when you look back at all the fat jokes towards Moxie that Luna and Blitzo have made.

Some may argue that Luna and Blitzo were joking, but while Blitz's one line may fall under that argument, Luna's doesn't. From tone, to when/where the joke was said, to Moxie's reaction, Luna makes those comments or "jokes" to be mean to Moxie, and does not feel sorry for what she did. While this does solidify Luna's character and the idea that no joke is off limits for Vivzie so to speak, it also unintentionally lays the ground work that fatphobia is fine both in the show and in hell. While this agrees with the "its hell" argument that Vivzie always pulls out to defend her questionable character decisions, it doesn't work with the audience taking Mammon's comment towards Fizz as something we should actually care about.

You can't make fat jokes towards other characters and at the same time, tell the audience that fatphobia is bad simply because its a villain that's doing it especially in Hell where most moralities fall under morally grey. It's like having those at I.M.P critique someone for being a mercenary and killing humans; it doesn't work.

It's horrible writing and its makes the creators and the characters themselves hypocrites . Blitzo being a hypocrite could work cause he is piles of messed up, but the show nor its creator show it as that. Instead, they show it as a moment that helps solidify to Blitzo how bad Mammon is both for Fiz and the general public. In the end, Vivzie shot herself in the foot again and its now becoming more clear due to just how many times shes done it.

Of course, there is also the added issues of one of the few fat characters (if the only one) Vivzie shows being the one to be fatphobic while also being depicted with so many fatphobic media stereotypes, but that's for another post.

Helluva Boss S2E7 Opinions

(Kinda in order but no promises.)

(I made this too damn long. It’s 1100+ words, not what I wanted but here we are.)

To start off, the joke of Mammon talking about random stuff on stage goes on for too long. One or two lines is one thing but the whole rant feels like it's just there to stretch out the runtime. Fiz and Blitzo talking afterward is good to establish that Fiz is desperate to be accepted from before he was famous, but the very obvious critic insert is unnecessary.

Has any depiction of a media's critic in this way ever, even once, come off as anything other than the creator(s) whining? Even if the critics are in bad faith to waste time in the actual story has always come off as bad to me.

Blitzo has no place in the episode. Ozzie calls him to help talk Fiz out of performing, but that never happens. He complains, sure, but doesn't actually do anything in regard to why he was asked to come.

Yes, he 'defends' Fiz from the critic dude, but that guy's character shouldn't have been like that in the first place.

It would have been better if he was just a random person in the crowd who just didn't like Fiz in general or was tired of the performances he was always putting on. It would have felt more organic that he was just some random asshole and not a rejected fan/stalker.

Random women characters are awful for no reason other than to be terrible. We're supposed to hate them but if it was Blitzo acting like that to someone else it would be seen as acceptable or just how he is.

Sure this is hell and they’re demons, they aren't supposed to be nice, but then why isn't Fizz being an ass. He's the one who has something to lose. There's no reason why he should be the good guy here.

In fact, Fizz acting out of characteristically mean toward competitors would help show how much this is affecting him. And for him to be a doormat about it AFTER an episode where he has to fight/avoid a gang of people actively trying to kill him, seems like a step back.

The song where Fizz and the twins are competing for the top spot is like 30 seconds long and is my favorite part. This is unrelated but I do love that. Listened to it on repeat. Additionally from what we see in this part, the twins act is...better. Juggling on a tightrope with your feet while doing a handstand on another person is a cool act.

Their song was good too. Like, these two are talented. We don't see what Fiz's original performance was going to be, but those two are talented. Having this be a pissing match rather than Fiz going up against actual good competition just because that's how it is would have been more heartbreaking in my opinion.

It wouldn't have been about beating two assholes to keep his (abusive) spot at Mammon's side, but hin just not meeting that expectation. Fizz losing and then having Ozzie still be there for him would have been more natural and showed that Fizz doesn't have to be perfect to be loved.

It just would have been a more satisfying resolution in my opinion.

Going to back up a bit to talk about Mammon specifically. Viv's first 'fat character'. It feels like a mix of character body type complaints mixed with a fat person calling someone who isn't fat, fat. Luna calling Moxxie fat is one thing, still unfunny, this is just an empty joke at best.

Mammon's design is confusing. Why does he look like a christmas tree? If it was a comment on how christmas, at least in the US, is overinflated for marketable purposes, that would be one thing but it isn't. He's green because greed and he's fat because...he is, I guess. He doesn't need a reason to have a larger body type, the hype over the character beforehand feels like it should mean something.

The sexist comments and telling Fizz that he was like a son he didn't have/want weren't funny and stayed that way. The son part comes up so often that I'm more than confident his actual son is going to show up at some point. Probably in Hazbin, can't wait to see if I'm right.

2-minute notice is a good song. Mammon not realizing that it's about him is pretty funny.

Mammon and Ozzie's transformations are disappointing. The way Ozzie shows up is cool, but the actual appearance, for Mammon too, is just them but bigger. Bee's was the same. Just the same character design but extra. Stolas's change created too much expectation that everyone's after couldn't live up to.

Mammon is supposed to be a spider, but he doesn't look like one. He looks closer to a silverfish. Not to mention that you don't really see his body.

Ozzie is just the same but brighter and with more fire. I think there should have been more done with the three faces. Maybe something like a Cerberus. Maybe a play on the term horndog. Bee has canine qualities' why not Ozzie? (Speaking of her, Bee's design is too much but it's clearly just a redesign of Jay from the Kesha song.)

Also like, nothing comes from the princes transforming. They just argue loudly. The same thing could have been achieved if they were standing by a mic. The only actual consequence is when Mammon leaves and everything explodes.

And the consequences of Ozzie's confession? Everyone knew. It was basically in the newspaper in the previous episode. Bee is openly with a hellhound, who are arguably a lower class than the imps. Sure it might be surprising, but it isn't against any rules that we know of. And why would there be a rule about it? This is hell. People murder each other on the streets, what's a romantic relationship compared to that? Who is going to judge them to their faces? the other princes? Why, what does it matter to them?

Besides a few good moments, this episode was disappointing and could have been half the length. Fizz and Ozzie's relationship is probably stronger now, but... aren't we here for Blitzo and Stolas? We have more development for these side characters than we do for half of IMP.

Moxxie's development is ping-ponging, Millie’s is at a standstill, Luna's moved maybe an inch, and Blitzo's is...I don't know. He was having emotional turmoil from the campers episode, seems fine in Oops and here he's contently eating on his couch watching TV. Was reconnecting with Fizz enough to fix everything with him? Was that one win enough for him to get over the problems with his sister and Stolas?

IDK, it really feels like the show is episodic most of the time.

That's not really a redesign, I just simply drew whatever was in my mind at the moment and didn't use any references hahaha so yeah

I'll probably try again more times because I want to learn more about how to contrast the elements in the picture (and I'll also try doing more lineless art)

Also Drew a version with some red accents because I think it gives more contrast (Although the moon is red that's also not supposed to be from emotion, I just again did whatever was in my mind at the moment)

I was having a re-listen to one of my fav albums (If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power - Halsey) and the song Ya'aburnee punched me in the with Fizz/Asmodeus feels.

Like the fact that they're in a mortal/immortal relationship is already heartbreaking, because Fizz has a limited lifespan whereas Asmodeus has lived at least 10 millennia and could theoretically live forever.

And the lyrics of this song encapsulate the depth of love and pain of that so well??? I'm very much imagining this song from Fizz's perspective 😭

And also these lines make me think about how terrifying it must have been for Fiz to realise that he was falling in love with a Sin - a basically god-like being who is all about Lust and having no idea if those feelings would be returned:

Bem, respondendo à primeira pergunta: Onde edito?

Eu edito pelo Ibis Paint X. Desde o começo da capa até a conclusão geral dela, mas no fim, costumo finalizá-la pelo Polarr que é um app de criação de filtros para fotos.

Mais detalhes:

Edito no tamanho 2400 × 1600 para não perder a qualidade e ter um vislumbre melhor para posicionar os elementos.

Redimensiono através do Picsart ou no Ezgif mas, boa parte das vezes eu não redimensiono além de pedidos de projetos e pedidos pessoais — particularmente não sinto diferença, mas eu sou meio cega, então sugiro que redimensione ao tamanho exigido pela plataforma (600 × 400 - Spirit).

Para a segunda pergunta: como deixar a qualidade?

Bem, essa questão é um pouco complicada. Eu não sei ao certo o que deixa uma melhor qualidade, afinal, tem capa que eu faço meio nas coxas por serem pra mim. Mas, falarei os processos que uso e que influenciam nisso — sim, sou uma capista péssima KKKKK.

Materiais:

Sempre busque utilizar materiais com boa qualidade, seja um png que irá usar no fundo até uma fanart ou arte oficial. Quanto melhor a qualidade dos recursos que você tiver, melhor será o resultado do seu trabalho.

Bem, eu consegui alguns recursos conversando com amigas capistas e também recorri ao maravilhoso e clássico Pai Google! Meu histórico é desastroso, acreditem...

São alguns exemplos de pesquisas que fiz para achar recursos. Mas lembre-se: não venda suas edições com coisas que não lhe pertence. Estes recursos foram criados por alguém, então não lucre em cima de algo que não fora de sua total autoria!

Tutorial para achar png pelo Google:

Abra seu navegador.

Clique nas opções (ou três pontinhos).

Selecione a opção "Para computador".

Pesquise normalmente no Google.

Entre em "Imagens"

Vá na opção no canto superior direito e clique em "Ferramentas"

Algumas opções se abrirão e nelas haverá uma chamada "Cor", clique.

Um pequeno painel se abrirá e nele haverá 3 opções: "Qualquer cor", "Preto e Branco" e "Transparente". Clique na opção "Transparente".

As imagens irão recarregar e agora você terá imagens em png, diretamente!

Ibis Paint X

O app utilizado para a edição é um app de desenho que permite que façamos muitas outras coisas, incluindo as edições. Então, consequentemente, ele terá uma infinidade de pincéis, filtros e recursos para que seja utilizado.

Na opção paga do aplicativo, há um filtro na opção de "Borrão" chamado: Máscara de Nitidez. E através dele, com a capa finalizada, regulo no olhometro — lembrando, eu sou meio cega — o quanto eu desejo de Nitidez na capa.

Waifu2x

Como a opção anterior é um pouco limitada, há este site que utilizo as vezes para melhorar a qualidade. Mesmo que seja pouca, ainda sim é uma ajuda!

O Waifu é um site fácil de mexer, meio bugado as vezes, mas ainda assim é bom!

Polarr e filtros

A melhor parte de uma capa, onde o lixo vira ouro e achamos o diamante no meio da bosta! De certo, uma das minhas etapas favoritas: a escolha de filtros.

Vamos lá: Filtros ou PSDs são as finalizações que aplicamos nas capas para deixar ela mais viva, mudar a cor ou até mesmo trazer o tcham que ela precisa. Consequentemente, uma das partes que os iniciantes mais cometem erros.

Assim como devemos escolher cuidadosamente nossas imagens para termos um bom trabalho, também devemos nos atentar aos filtros que escolhemos para que a capa não perca qualidade! Ou seja: fuja como o diabo foge da cruz de filtros de blur exagerados, glitchs intensos e ou corrosão. Eles tiram a qualidade da capa de uma forma drástica — ao meu ver e pelas minhas experiências.

Busque sempre filtros que tragam vivacidade e nitidez para a capa, e aqui indicarei 2 dos que mais uso e um que gosto bastante:

O terceiro filtro, recomendo que use com moderação pois ele tem as franjas mais visíveis, ou melhor dizendo, o glitch mais evidente. E assim como ele, filtros de ruído e blur, também devem ser moderados se deseja utilizá-los!
