ok lets get into the creator league stuff (local essay andy is back)

I mean first and foremost what Is the creator league

its an esports tournament ran by eFuse and presented by Mr Beast. its designed as this kind of interactive league allowing fans to play with and for their favourite creators. their trailers on instagram claim that theres gonna be a full years worth of content, however Mr Beasts recent video claims the event will happen across a 10 month time frame.

so the ting that makes this event 'special' is that the creators are not listed as players in the event but as 'team managers'- which is where the creator pass comes in. Each creator has a 'pass' that allows you as a fan and viewer to join their team and participate in the league events. Each pass costs around $20 and from what ive read I believe you can only sign up to participate on behalf of one player.

obviously for reasons of fairness, not everyone who buys a pass will be able to officially compete- there is a limited number of spaces on each team and the places are won via an open qualifier Fortnite tournament where they will also be competing for a $50 k prize- although im yet to find any comment from creator league or any articles on how this money is split. But don't worry even if you don't qualify youre still entitled to a free box of mr beasts chocolate should you buy a pass before September 9th. yey.

so what's the problem with this.

I mean first of all. creators arent even required to play. they can fully just let their team do all the work in every event which might work for people like Vinnie Hacker I guess. This might be a way to try and 'even the playing field' by not giving creators with gaming backgrounds any advantage, however it makes the marketing of 'playing with your favourite creator' a little meh. also as a viewer, id be more interested in watching an event that my creator was an active participant in than just watching my streamer watch other people play on their behalf.

the other huge thing that everyone is really waiting to hear about in this post is the nft situation. so recently the narrator of the creator league announcement video, brycent, conformed that the passes are nfts to be minted on the blockchain operating system Near Protocol. so obviously people are extremely concerned about this discovered involvement in NFTs and crypto currency.

so I went to investigate the website to see what its looks like when you purchase a creator pass and unsurprisingly there is no mention on nfts anywhere. The passes are sold on mynt.gg , which according to their faqs is a 'first of its kind marketplace looking to evaluate esports through community' just have a look actually

so no mention of the passes actually being nft purchase here's . if we go to the check out as well this is what we see for the descriptors

so . people who are purchasing this have no way of actually knowing they are purchasing an nft. you also need an account to add a pass to your basket and im not willing to make an account so im unaware if at any time during the payment process people are made aware of what they are purchasing. its listed and discussed more like a membership than anything, and in a way it is there are benefits to it, however with no information as to what people are actually buying its extremely sketchy and a literally misleading purchase perhaps a scam even . since the fact that they've just purchased an not isn't listed anywhere on mynt.gg prior to purchase. and after going through a few more articles .

so theyre definitely trying to hide it from you. as mentioned you need an account to purchase anything. and you only get to know what youre purchasing if you go through the TOC, which most people don't read lets be real.

it's worth noting as well creator league is the only collection available on mynt.gg at the minute, it seems like this entire business was started FOR creator league.

after reading through the faqs again I want to correct myself and say that yes you can buy more than one pass, but only for one creator. so this seems to me like a pay to win scheme.

im not going to go super in depth into this bit bc its a topic that has already been discussed in detail but obviously a lot of people are not happy with the inclusion of nfts because of their environmental impact, the secrecy and dedication to hiding this fact that the company is involving crypto in the event itself is a little weird if u ask me. oh yeah theres been reports on twitter too that they have been blocking and deleting replies to their posts that accuse them on using crypto.

so theyre lying to you as the viewer about what they are and what youre purchasing. but it seems like theyre lying to the creators too.

again. crypto and nfts is not mentioned anywhere at all. not in the trailer, not on the website not in any announcements . only discovered when people were paying for passes bc they wanted to support their fave creators.

recently one of the listed creators Connor CDawgVA released a twitter statement conforming that he was completely blindsided by the fact that there was cryptocurrency involved in the event- if u haven't seen his tweet here

so this raises the question were creators told about their involvement with Near, or was it written using jargon that people unfamiliar with crypto would not pick up on.

CEO of TAMU Esports Dylan Liu also weighed in on the creator league misleading their creators as well here's his statements too

this isn't everything Dylan has had to say hes done a lot of discussions with people on blockchains and of the event itself as someone who has known about the event for a while, id recommend checking out his twitter if you have time he goes into depth about how much funding theyre getting from near and way more issues with creator league than I have time to explore rn .

but it really does seem that the Creator League and eFuse have gone out of their way to try and hide the fact that they are using cryptocurrency from everyone possible. This is a marketing scheme to try and trick people into buying into their market- and if you google Near Protocol right now you see that they are declining so they actively need more people to buy into their schemes.

investors are leaving Near right now. Theyre tricking people into buying into their organisation. At least thats my understanding of it im not hugely knowledgeable about crypto.

I have a headache lets just wrap this up

this is super sketchy . as of right now CDawgVA is the only creator to have withdrawn from the event, but I hope a lot of creators follow suit. its unknown to us the details of their contracts but from what we know of the event they have done everything to hide the genuine content of creator pass purchases from the viewers- making a lot of people rightfully angry that the event is trying to pull the wool over fans eyes. hiding tweets and refusing to acknowledge their involvement in crypto programmes to the point where its unclear if people like Mr Beast and any of the participating creators are aware of it is super suspicious activity. Especially with how vague their promotions have been on the event, very little information has been available on their instagram and I think it was yesterday that we actually got some kind of timeline of the event. its supposed to start like next week and so many people are still so unsure of what is actually happening in the event or what prizes theyre actually getting if they participate. there has been no redeeming quality in the way that this event has been conceived and executed and I really do hope to see that the event is cancelled or that creators start to speak out against the way that the event is being run and support the fans who feel cheated and blindsided by the organisers . I will say I do not believe any of the creators willingly involved themselves in a cryptocurrency scheme, it's all just too sketchy . and no I did not proofread this nor can I be bothered to .

I am happy you liked my little what if there(without giving much away, I am planning a second post that will have even more art/kinda comic of the two. Should be out tomorrow or the next day) as I love experiments that this and been drawing ideas of them for years. Just the thought of scientists experimenting on people and creating this bizarre and creepy beasts that are ironically more human than the humans that experimented on them always fascinated me, and I do wish to create a graphic novel with that as one of the main plot points one day. So of course I’d flock to this in a heartbeat

That being said, I do have a couple small questions. What inspired you to create Chimera Emmet in the first place, and made you get so attached to it? Why did you only use those three and not others Emmet has like Durant? How big is this guy for scaling and hugging purposes(and in a much light note, how would it feel to hug him given all the different things like scales, feathers, and skin)?

I created chimera Emmet because I was like: … what if I fucked him up. And then I turned Agee into a big puppy and I love them.

I chose those three because at the time, I had the most experience drawing them and I felt like adding more would’ve made it too hard to balance all the aspects.

ESP: Holaaaaa! Es febrero, lo que significa que lamentablemente hasta el 14 de este mes seremos bombardeadxs por el horrible capitalismo con el “Día de los enamorados/San Valentín/Día del amor y la amistad”. Yey! Y obviamente como personas afuera de la norma en estos ámbitos, desde los países del norte se celebra la Semana de la Concientización del Espectro Arromántico! O el bien llamado Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week aka ASAW ✨ Es por eso que deseo compartir mi pequeño aporte al subir en una carpeta de Google Drive los subtítulos en español de la increíble, fantástica y hermosa serie japonesa Koisenu Futari! Esta mini serie tiene un espacio muy especial en mi corazón y cuando terminé de verla, solo quería compartirla con todo el mundo porque realmente creo que todxs deberían verla por lo menos una vez en su vida!! Sin embargo, algo que sucedía en el camino era que muchs amix se tropezaban con la barrera del inglés. Es por eso que me he tomado la tarea de traducir los subtítulos ya existentes gracias al increíble trabajo hecho por Kaizen Subs el año pasado. Si bien para la fecha (5/Feb) aún no los he terminado por falta de tiempo, espero tomar esta publicación como inspiración e ir subiendo aunque sea un archivo por semana.

Por otro lado, quisiera agregar que he hecho mi mejor esfuerzo en algunas frases o traducciones. El inglés no es mi primera lengua evidentemente y he tomado esta iniciativa de puro cariño por la serie y mis amix, a pesar de no tener experiencia en el ámbito. Creo en el gran poder de Koisenu Futari para acompañar a las personas que estamos dentro de los espectros arromántico y asexual, como también toda persona que rompa con las normativas sociales y quieran aprender que otras formas de existir son posibles y están bien. ¡La representación/visibilidad siempre será importante!

ENG: Helloooooo! It’s February, which means that unfortunately until the 14th of this month, we will be filled by the hideous capitalism with the “Valentine’s Day” celebration. Yey! And obviously as people outside the norm in these areas, from the northern countries is celebrated the Awareness Week of the Aromantic Spectrum aka ASAW ✨ That’s why I want to share my little contribution by uploading to a Google Drive folder the Spanish subtitles of the incredible, fantastic and beautiful Japanese series Koisenu Futari! This limited series has a very special place in my heart and when I finished it I just wanted to share it with the whole world because I really think everyone should watch it at least once in their life!! However something that happened along the way was that many friends ran into the English barrier. That's why I've taken the trouble to translate the already existing subtitles thanks to the incredible work done by Kaizen Subs last year. Although to date (Feb/5) I have not finished them yet due to lack of time, I hope to take this post as inspiration and upload at least one file per week.

On the other hand, I would like to add that I have done my best in some sentences or translations. English is obviously not my first language and I have taken this initiative out of pure affection for the series and my friends; despite having no experience in the field. I believe in the great power of Koisenu Futari to accompany people who are within the aromantic and asexual spectrum, as well as anyone who breaks with social norms and wants to learn that other ways of existing are possible and okay. Representation will always matter!

Once again, consuming media I would have otherwise never watched for one guy. As always thoughts at the end.

Life Update: Just turned 21 yesterday, didn't do anything fun (I've never drank and don't really want to), but rewatched OFMD yesterday for the first time in months with the brother. Well, another year. Everyone paired off. Leo is letting himself find joy where ever he can find it. Both roommates are getting laid. Good, happy, movie.

Yeah, that 'hope it's just a phase' joke isn't great.

Bisexuality: This film goes into the whole 'are you truly a gay', thing. Overall it ends up with three characters who thought they were one way, realizing they were more fluid than they thought(Leo, Darren, and Terry). Just kind of a fun character exploration film. I'm looking at it in a modern sense. Darren(gay roomate) clings to his identity to find a community whereas Leo feels no need to define it. Both aren't inherently wrong, just different ways of living a life. Personally defining a label wasn't for me, so eh, I get both sides. It was the 90s when this came out and for the time, idk. Sexual fluidity feels revolutionary. I think the point of the movie is, to explore and live your life? I'd love to know how any bisexuals who read this feel about it.

Con: 10/10 God I fucking loved Terry.

Seeing someone essentially having my same life experience coming out was funny (exploring the idea of being queer after a friend comes out, realizing you have a crush on that friend, but oh shit, crush has already shacked up with a friend in the group). He's such a fucking sweet asshole. Asking for genuine advice, smiling, standing up for a friend. Sure, he wanted to fuck Leo, but he's still someone Leo can trust. I want to rank all of the Con characters based on how alike they are to Izzy. Cause Terry is up there. He's so pathetic, in such a fun way.

AND GOD HIS OUTFIT CHANGES!

I noticed it in the movie but didn't want to just briefly bring it up to a point, but god it's so good!

The way he naturally relaxes into clothing that just fits his fun personality more. THE SHORTS! After the man comes out, he realizes he wants to fuck Leo, then shows off his legs in shorts! Genius Idea. Beautiful. Then his outfit gets ruined in bushes. GOD. By the end of the movie he settles into a good mix of relaxed and macho. He wears what he's comfortable with and isn't as closed off. It's sweet.

I am not over Con playing the jealous 3rd in a 2 person relationship. I literally rewatched OFMD yesterday for my birthday. These are very similar people. I love it so much guys. I did this thinking this would help me write Izzy, which it has, but god. I'm just so glad I did to see more queer media.

Everyone else 8/10: Darren grew on me like a leach. His version of Queerness opening up to romance, and legit trying to manage that was sweet. Branden was a 50/50 for me, I had bad vibes with him in the beginning and he never really grew on me. I actually hated Daren's main squeeze, too off putting seeing him here. Loved his other roomie, and the therapist/leader the men's group.

Story 6-7/10: I liked the ending. This weird year wrapped up and Leo ready to look into his future. With a new, wider, weirder support system filled with more people expressing their Queerness in different ways. I liked it ignoring the 90s comedy beats, weird editing, music. This was just a fun story that ignored the real world for a bit.

Overall: 7-8/10. Personally, I recommend it with caveats. Weird 'we need to separate hetero and homo' stuff, and weird humor definitely from the 90s. I did like 90% of the characters though, and this was a long movie that kept me engaged the whole time. Which is something I can't say about some of Con's other stuff. Again, I'm heavily leaning to one side of the Kinsey scale. I can't imagine how insulting this movie could be if I was more center-leaning. Love to hear yall's thoughts down below <3 I love chatting with yall.

Pinky dinky doo review

hoi, it’s Abby, and this post is gonna be the start of wut I call “nostalgic reviews,” where I review a random show from ur or my, childhood! as the title of this post states, today, I’m reviewing on Jim jinkins’s (creator of Doug, pb&j otter, Allegra’s window, the Christian dvd series hoop dogz, Stanley, jojo’s circus and the unaired mature espn cartoon Hoyt and Andy’s sportsbender) pinky dinky doo.

“What’s pinky dinky doo?”

Originally starting as bedtime stories for Jim’s daughter, pinky dinky doo was greenlit for 2 11 minute web-only pilots, which are now lost media. (Hey lsupersonicq, lost media wiki, can we get this found?) and a series of books, which were soon greenlit for a full 22 minute cartoon on noggin, (now known as nick jr.) it also aired on discovery kids in Latin America and on cbc kids in Canada.

Format of the show

After the (very very catchy) theme song, the show opens up with Tyler (pinky’s younger brother) having a problem, or a small issue (lik his halloween costume not being scary or him unable to find his shoes,) pinky, overhears and comes up with a story idea, which leads to….The storybox song! (Which is very very catchy.) pinky, tyler and mr guinea pig dance their way to the story box, a small cardboard box, and in which, with a piece of chalk, pinky tells her story, which is related to the problem tyler’s facing, (lik in the first episode, pinky is unable to find her shoes. And has to use baloney as shoes…until she finds out everyone in her school can’t find their shoes either.) with pinky saying “now that’s something you don’t see everyday.” When something silly/weird happens, these stories involve a “great big fancy word” (mr guinea pig blows a trumpet whenever the word is about to be mentioned.) which is a word used in the story, (lik masterpiece or celebration) pinky, near the end, has to figure the problem out by thinking big…literally. Her head grows just lik a balloon. And it deflates when she comes up with a idea. This also comes with a song. At the end, pinky solves the issue in a unique and creative way, (lik in one episode, pinky’s classmates get their costumes ruined, but pinky comes up with the idea to combine their costumes into a caterpillar, or a “kid-erpillar” as she calls it.) and the story ends. Tyler solves his issue, but then the cheese sandwich console plays it’s jingle, signaling game time. “Cheese please!” These segments are interactive, having the viewer either call out the right choice, or saying the great big fancy word if they see a picture releated to the word, at the end. Pinky says “I love making up stories. I’ll bet you can make up a story, too!” And the episode ends. Cue the credits!

Mc’s:

Pinky dinky doo: the main character, pinky’s 7 years old and is very creative and energetic, almost feeling just lik a precure leader,

Tyler dinky doo: pinky’s younger 4 year old brother. slightly more anxious than pinky, but still loving her stories, asks before the story box song starts “Pinky, are you gonna make up a story?” And pinky responding with “yes-arooney postioony!”

mr Guinea pig: a Guinea pig, in pinky’s stories he’s actually quite smart, as he can play the guitar and has a pretty fancy cage, in one of the stories in the episodes, after pinky forgets to feed him, he runs away, but comes back at the end.

Pinky’s friends

In pinky’s stories, her friends usually show up. These include…

Bobby boom: A disabled (wheelchair rider, disabled rep, yey!) African-American boy who is the smartest, but kindest of pinky’s friends. In the story seen in the episode “boom! sonic boom!” Bobby is actually a superhero, being boom sonic boom, the fastest wheelchair user in this show’s universe.

Daffinee toilette: (yee that’s her real name, I wonder how she feels bout her last name….) daffinee is the most vain and snarky out of pinky’s friend group. being rich, as she has a butler, jinkins (named after Jim jinkins himself,) but she does have a kind heart, as she cares for pinky, in the story as seen in the episode “I want that!” Daffinee instantly calls for pinky when she can’t find her new doll, Spendy wendy, and in the story in the episode “pinky’s great big concert” she accidentally gets her hair stuck into a tuba shape, and pinky discovers that her hair does work lik a real tuba, allowing pinky to have a instrument for the concert, (I hc her dating pinky in the future.)

Nicholas biscuit: The class clown out of pinky’s friends. Nicholas is pinky’s best friend. He aspires to be a magician, calling himself ”the great biscotti” as seen in the first episode, he owns a skateboard. there’s not a lot to say bout him as he doesn’t rlly have a lot of spotlight episodes.

side characters:

grandma dinky doo: being mentioned in the episode “pinky dinky doo and the outer space fluffy buns.” As the creator of the fluffy buns, muffin/cupcake lik snacks. She makes her first offical appearance in season 2, which I mention below,

Daddy dinky doo: pinky and tyler’s dad, in the official website it’s mentioned that he’s a writer, although we never see him do any writing. mommy dinky doo: pinky and tyler’s mom. Not alot to say on her, as much lik Nicholas, she doesn’t have any spotlight episodes,

Episodes that changed the formula:

there’s actually quite a few episodes that had different characters use the think big ability, lik “shrinky pinky”, which had mr guinea pig think big, or “Tyler to the rescue” where Tyler has to rescue pinky from a gorilla, and had use the think big ability.

pinky doesn’t lik pink:

Pinky, despite her name being pinky, her hair being pink, doesn’t lik pink, this is a running gag, it’s talked bout in the episode “pinky and the pink phenomenon.” As there’s a flamingo (also named pinky) who colors everything he finds pink, annoying pinky, this is also why in “Tyler to the rescue” the gorilla kidnaps pinky, because she liked pinky’s hair.

Season 2’s great big fancy changes:

season two is a big season for the show, as the show actually switched animation/art styles. Going from flash animation to a psudo 2d/cgi animation, done by keyframe digital (which would later animate the universal kids/cbc kids show Ollie the boy who became what he ate, which I hc takes place in the same world due to having a similar art style,) some voice actors (Tyler, daffinee and mr guinea pig) got their voices replaced (pinky’s stayed, although she now sounds much older.) we also got a backstory episode for pinky. “Pinky thinky doo.” In it, pinky’s grandma is the one who taught a younger pinky how to think big, and in “Tyler’s story box disaster” tyler accidentally breaks the story box, causing pinky to use the story pad to write the story. It later reappears in “are you my mummy?” As the pre-story for the episode takes place in a store, special mention for the episode “big brain block!” Where pinky experiences the worst thing a writer can deal with….writers block. And tyler has to write the story.

That’s exactly what happened…pretty much. The end:

As they say, all good things, must come to a end, and on January 9th, 2010. The show did, ending with the episodes “pinky’s silliest story” (putting scenes from the intro in a episode) and “Tyler’s big idea.” (Pinky, bobby and tyler explore tyler’s brain to awaken his imagination.) Both giving the show a good farewell, The show actually has quite a few pieces of merchandise. Gund made plushies and picture frames. And there’s a dvd release of the episode “polka dot pox” that has become quite rare and expensive online, as for modern watchability…the show used to be on Netflix, and on hbo family and hbo max until 2021, (zaslav…) when it got removed. The show also had a few flash games, “eat it or wear it,” where you have to put stuff in a eat it pile, or a wear it pile, and “the great big fancy word game” where you have to watch a clip and choose what great big fancy word the clip is referring to,

Lost dubs:

there was in fact, a Japanese dub of this show, which it is now lost media, having aired on Cartoon Network japan’s preschool block, Pipora pepora. Only a episode list of season 1 and the names of some of the voice actors remain. There was also a British English dub, airing on cbeebies in the uk, which has also become lost media,

In one of my previous posts I had said how B.Pearl had to change her tail for legs, well, after that, this ended up being Black Pearl's outfit.

I don't detail it that much, but it would be a mix of Oyster's outfit and the one that Black Pearl has canonically in the game. And a small S.Nacar winged yey!

First attempt to draw the crew of the Salty shark.

S.Nacar was introduced to the C.Caviar crew when she was a newborn, so they did not see her again until she was 10 years old, since she left the Oyster house to look for her father out of curiosity.

Ending up sneaking into the ship and being seen again by Blue Coral and Red Coral (Or Purple coral (?) Being B. Coral who looks excited to see his captain's daughter again

I’m so incredibly bad at calling random facts about myself 😩

On the picture of me I posted yesterday, the thing behind my hand is my pole dance pole which I bought during a mental breakdown. 😂 So far I haven’t really learned much because it hurts!! Instead, I preferred to give my MC the ability to be really good in pole dance. It's much easier to just dream about it. It’s also good because I’m the cool aunt who has a pole in the room where my 6 year old nephew can play Spider Man on. 😂😌

The first time I dyed my hair colorful, blue, was when I was 13 years old. When the color was out, I swore never to do it again because I wanted to look 'normal'. Today I wonder why I came up with the strange idea to dye my hair dark brown. I still find brown hair beautiful, but today I just think the opposite of what I used to think back then. xD

little note: hi! this is my first time posting anything in years! especially it’s the fisrt time publishing something in english and about the ToT boys. I don’t know if this is the start of a little fanfic, something I want to carry on or what. I just wanted to share something in a while. polyam is gonna be the main theme, since it’s something I’ve struggled with in a bit to let people around me accept me for this. so I want to put out how it really hurts and it’s not all about fun. it’s still love in the end, which involves different people so yey more hurting. anyway I hope you’ll like it! there’s gonna be at least a second part for this. ily all!

Celestine and Kiki have invited you to drink something after work, to celebrate a hard case you were able to close after months of working on it. You received a little help from Artem, but the majority of the credit was yours to take. You were already wasted, when the two girls decided to have a little fun with you. “Vyn” you say, without hesitation. “Sorry, I mean, “dr. Richter”” you mimic the quotation marks with your fingers. The two girls look at each other confused, while you take another drink in your hands. They study your face, not able to comprehend what you just stated.

“Wait” Celestine finally speaks “so, from all the boys, you’d go out with dr. Richter? Without giving it a second thought?” she asks. You’re the one confused now, what’s happening? I mean, it’s not like you can really hide when you like someone. “Have you seen me around him or what?” you point out. “Yes, but I’ve also seen you around Mr. Wing!” she exclaims, throwing her hands in the air. “What?!” shouts Kiki this time, smacking her friend’s arm. “I thought you were thinking about Mr. Von Hagen!”

Your eyes wide shut, trying to hide from the conversation behind a glass of wine. You wished you could have blamed the redness in your cheeks to what you were drinking, but it was clear to the girls in front of you something was off. Celestine snatches the glass from your hands: “Look me in the eyes, now”. You’ve never seen her frowning at any of you girls in all your days at the firm, so you just choose to listen to her. “Are you sure about dr. Richter, miss?”.

You take a deep breath. “Well, it is hard” you murmur, supporting your head between your hands trying like this to cool off your cheeks. “They’re all nice…” you start, “and smart, charming, handsome” your brain continues lost in thoughts. But you can’t really say it out loud. The point is: you really like them all, it’s so obvious, but it’s not fair to like them all. “I mean, one day you’ll have to choose!” Celestine voices your thoughts.

“Do I?”

“You can’t just go out with all of them, you know that right?”

You feel a little glimpse of sadness in your chest gripping into your heart. “Can’t I?” you ask yourself, this time. “It’s not like any of them asked me out yet, so there’s nothing to choose between. That’s what I meant, Celestine”. You looked at each other, your believes clashing in a series of glances across the table. Kiki felt your anger growing, and decided to put an end to the discussion: “We still have all night ahead, why don’t we move to the karaoke?”.

You take the last sip of wine from the glass Celestine took away, without moving your gaze from her hard eyes.

“Why don’t you think about your love life, instead of mine?” Kiki moves between you two, glaring at you:

“Hey, you need to watch your words”.

Celestine doesn’t say a thing, and just walks away after getting her purse and jacket from the chair next to yours. “To think I was helping Artem getting you, it was a big ass mistake”. What?

Stumbling on your feet, trying to get balanced on your heels, you reach for her hand stopping her from moving forward. “You’re helping Artem doing what?”. She moves her arms away from your reach: “I don’t owe you any further explanation”.

The Uber you called drove you safely at the karaoke. You and Celestine kindly agreed to Kiki’s wish to end the discussion at the bar, in order to keep the night alive. When out of the car, you look at the sign of the building: it was the same karaoke where Luke took you and the NXX team for a night out. In a flash, you check all the cars parked down the sidewalk and you seem to have spotted one familiar, when Kiki drags you inside. “Come on, no more drinking for you” she exhales, giving you another small push to make you enter the building.

The line is still long, but many are there just for a drink and not to get a table and a chance to get to sing. Celestine is whispering something to your ear, when you can’t actually listen to her: you’ve eyed a table, in the corner of the karaoke bar, where four well-known faces are seated. “They’re all here” you say, without asking your friend what she was trying to say. You haven’t moved your eyes from them, looking all happy together, drinking something; that’s when the two girls next to you follow the line of your glance, and both murmur unhesitatingly and unreservedly: “Shit”.

“We can go away” Kiki offers, walking away from the queue.

“We definitely have to” you say.

Celestine and Kiki have already moved from where you were all standing, but your eyes can’t stay away from them. “Why would they go out without me?” you whisper, a little offended. Your impulsive anger drives your feet along the floor, pointing at them: they’re all sitting there, and you’re missing, why is that? Did you do something to make them angry at you? Or maybe it’s just a boy’s night out. No, they’re not even that close. You stop in front of the table, without knowing what to say anymore; there could be many reasons they’re out without you, and you confronting them about it could be a little weird.

“Hey!” Luke is the first one to see you, and all the heads move in your direction. Your heart jumps in your chest, looking at him walking up to you. “We thought you were out with the girls, we’re all here to…bond”

“Like real men do” Marius adds, after saluting you with a beer in his hand.

“Yeah…”

Everything looks so uncomfortable right now, to the way they’re talking to each other, to the way they’re staring at you in complete silence. You look at every single one of them, in some kind of greeting, but you’re too confused to speak. “Where are Kiki and Celestine?” Artem asks, pushing away his drink to walk to you. Luke holds your arm, supporting what he’s saying “Yea, where are your friends? Am I wrong or I’ve seen them walking out?”

“I don’t know” you whisper.

You put yourself in this tragic position, yet you want to run away from it. Bits of your latest conversation with Celestine come up into your mind, making you feel flushed: with them right in front of you, you know you would never be able to choose. But is it really that bad? Many people have fun without committing, why should it be any different for you? Then you remember what Celestine said was doing with and for Artem, and you feel crumble at his touch.

“Do you want me to bring you home?”

Yes, that was it, that was his car. “What about us?” Marius whines, jokingly. You look at him with half a smile on your face, when he invites you to sit next to him dragging a chair from an empty table behind him. “I should see where my friends went” you start explaining, trying to get yourself out of this situation. Shivers on your body from the touch of both Artem and Luke’s hands. Vyn finally speaks up, shaking his head “I’ll do that for you, take a seat” he offers again the same spot Marius was pointing at.

“Alright” you say, surrendering to their sweet help.
