"Mask'd" by Fiore Manni, Michele Monteleone and Ilaria Catalani

I have been meaning to pick up this book for months (I even put it in last autum's tbr ahah), but I only managed to read it this spring.

It's a cozy little graphic novel by three Italian authors/artists with urban fantasy elements, amazing characters and stunning drawings. If you can read Italian I would absolutely recommend it. They are working on a sequel and I can't wait!

New year new attempt at this challenge I have never managed to finish. I am a mood reader so planning my reading ahead is always a failure. But I want to use this yearly tradition as a way to motivate myself with my goal of conquering my physcial tbr. So I will only include books I already own and that I want to finally read. Un altro titolo va ad aggiungersi al palinsesto di produzioni originali Spotify nel campo dei podcast, dopo quelle annunciate lo scorso autunno. Si tratta della versione italiana di “Batman - Unburied”, reintitolata “Batman - Un’autopsia”. Viene definita “serie audio” ed è il risultato della partnership della piattaforma con lo storico marchio DC e con Warner Bros, che lo detiene. 
Il podcast, che verrà lanciato il 3 maggio simultaneamente in nove paesi tra cui anche l’Italia, è stato presentato ieri, 27 aprile, con un evento alla presenza del cast italiano al completo e di Federica Tremolada, Managing Director Sud e Est Europa di Spotify.

La produzione nasce da David S. Goyer, sceneggiatore de “La Trilogia del Cavaliere Oscuro” (“The Dark Knight Trilogy”) di Christopher Nolan e rappresenta una svolta nelle produzioni di Spotify. La piattaforma ha già prodotto titoli originali - i primi podcast originali italiani sono usciti nel 2021, a partire “The Jackal: tutto Sanremo ma dura meno”, “Batman - Un’autopsia” è però la prima “audio serie”: un genere il cui nome costituisce un evidente richiamo al modello audiovisivo (e riporta alle origini della narrazione radiofonica). Al posto della caratteristica figura dell’“host”- voce narrante del podcast - troviamo infatti un cast di attori che recitano un copione fiction, similmente a quanto avviene nei radiodrammi, puntando a creare un’esperienza di ascolto immersivo. Spotify si affianca così ad altri competitor - Audible e Storytel in primis - che si sono già cimentati in produzioni audio di questo tipo.

La serie audio, strutturata in dieci episodi da trenta minuti circa l’uno che verranno pubblicati sulla piattaforma ogni martedì, ripropone l’universo di Batman con alcune, significative, novità. La prima, sicuramente, è proprio nel personaggio di Bruce Wayne, interpretato da Claudio Santamaria (già voce italiana del Batman di Nolan), che in “Batman - Un’autopsia” è un patologo forense intento ad esaminare le vittime del serial killer “il Mietitore”. Affianco a lui ritroviamo alcuni dei personaggi più noti del mondo narrativo di Batman come l’Enigmista (Michele Bravi) e Barbara Gordon (Alice Mangione). Nel cast anche Dario Bressanini, Batrice Bruschi, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Edoardo Ferrario, Michela Giraud, Michele La Ginestra, Fiore Manni, Nicola Pisoia e Saverio Raimondo. […]
