Hey with all the recent emmeryn love: romantic headcanons with her? (And maybe with a trans girl s/o if thats alright?)

I finally got settled in back home! My laptop charger went MIA for a bit, but it’s all good now. I’ve been excited to do this one and wasn’t sure whether to write about pre-fall or post-fall Emmeryn, so I just stuck with the former. I hope you like them :)

Even with all her duties as Exalt, Emmeryn has always been the doting type. She’s thoughtful and considerate, which surprises no one, but she’s also remarkably sweet in her affection.

Everyone is constantly vying for her attention, but she takes every opportunity she can to see you during the day - sharing meals, taking walks in the garden, or dropping by to say hello and see how you’re doing at the very least.

The evenings are her favorite, though. She loves the moments where you’re leaning against each other on the couch in her quarters, books in your laps, talking about nothing. Sometimes you’ll stay up far too late discussing something you’ve read or some silly thing her siblings did.

Emmeryn loves doing your hair! She used to fix Lissa’s when she was younger (despite the maids insisting that the young Exalt need not perform such a mundane task) and she’s happy to have the opportunity to play with someone’s hair again. It’s soothing, and she can’t resist the temptation to press a gentle kiss to your head and tell you how lovely you look once she’s done.

Emmeryn can’t hide the affection and pride in her eyes as she introduces you to visiting dignitaries. You’re never apart for long in the countless formal events the castle seems to hold, and even visitors that aren’t as fond of Ylisse remark on how strong the Exalt’s relationship is.

She knows all too well how stressful Ylissean court can be at times and tries to keep you from the worst of it (meetings with nobles and advisors can get heated), but she’s delighted to have you by her side in public appearances and at the throne. If you decide to take a more active role in politics, though, she’ll do all she can to make sure you have an equal voice in court. She’s endlessly proud of you no matter what your choice is.

She has a tendency to worry too much over you from time to time. She’ll check in to make sure you’re not wanting for anything - a habit she retained from her years worrying over Chrom and Lissa - but she often puts her own needs to the wayside. You’re always there to remind her to unwind and provide a shoulder to lean on when the weight of her duties get to her, and she appreciates the support more than words can say.

Emmeryn insists that you’re one of the strongest women she’s ever known, despite your objections. It seems absurd coming from someone who’s been through so much and strives so bravely for peace, but Emmeryn believes it with her whole heart.
