I wish some people would just say physically disabled instead of crippled on here. I'm not asking for everyone to abandon the word, I don't want them to, I just want one part of my life that doesn't call me a cripple constantly. I spend all day at school being called a cripple by friends and peers and bullies and I try and come on here for support from other physically disabled people and it's all cripple, cripple, cripple. Please goddammit can one physically disabled person make one, literally all I'm asking for is one, encouraging post for physically disabled people that doesn't say cripple. I hate being called that word. Please, just please, one post isn't asking for much, is it? I just want one person to say something nice about my physical disabilities without calling me a slur. And I know people are going to get angry because I shouldn't police peoples language and those posts aren't made for me specifically, but I'm beyond giving a fuck. I am quite literally begging. I just need one post or reblog or comment to look at sometimes when I feel horrible and can't escape the word cripple fucking anywhere. Please. I already have a billion medical tests and my insurance won't cover an MRI so I can't be diagnosed with one of my physical disabilities, another doesn't have a name so no one takes it seriously, and my doctors refuse to try to look into anything else, not to mention my eyes or non-physical disabilities, I just need one bit of positivity. I'm quite literally lying on my bed, sobbing from pain, unable to breath(for unrelated reasons to the sobbing), with a kidney infection my doctor said I definitely didn't have a week ago, trying to figure out how the fuck I'm going to be able to go to school tomorrow, let alone finishing the year(which just began), let alone finishing high school, let alone going to college. So maybe I sound whiny or something, but, again, I'm incapable of giving a fuck. Please, goddammit, please, I'm fifteen fucking years old, all I need is to be told my strabismus makes my eyes look pretty or that blue is a pretty color for a cane or that my physical inability to sit or stand up straight doesn't make me look lazy. That it's cool my cane and brace and glasses are the same color, that my rhotacism which even after five years of forced speech therapy is starting to return doesn't make me sound like a toddler, that my slowly increasing urinary incontinence that will probably lead to diapers if I can ever afford them(which my kidney infection is only making worse in ways that may be permanent) isn't anything to be ashamed of. I will even take: it's not your fault wearing an eye patch for a year at 5 didn't fix your eyes. I will take literally anything, I just want to know at least one fucking person on this planet actually thinks anything is good about my body and is willing to say it, just once, without using a slur.

Then the far-sighted among the Elves that dwelt in the Lonely Isle would see her like a white bird, shining, rose-stained in the sunset, as she soared in joy to greet the coming of Vingilot to haven.

is anyone else nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other? I don't think I've ever met anyone who was also like that and I didn't know it was a thing till a found out I needed glasses for it. Is it like a common thing somewhere else or am I like an anomaly or some shit like that?

I put my glasses on again for the heck of it after 5+ years of not wearing them (I'm mildly farsighted and able to compensate completely to 20/20 vision) and I think I actually like them better now? It's as if they were too strong before, but now they are just right. Like, I still don't need them to see sharp up close, but it takes the effort out of seeing in general.
Weird side effect is I can't unfocus my eyes. Or rather, when I try everything more than 2 meters away from me stays sharp. I look in the distance and my eyes can completely unfocus and still see everything perfectly. I know that's how it should be, but... Where is my 'I'm choosing not to perceive you/the world' blur?? How am I supposed to zone out or think visually when I'm forced to see every grain of sand and interpret people's faces in HD?
I'm not wearing them outside yet (I'm not a fashion person but the style legitimately makes me look 37373838% more nerdy. What was I thinking when I picked them??) but I might use them as desk work/computer glasses to give my eyes a rest. Except that makes it sound like reading glasses and that makes me feel old HHHHHHGGHGGHH

What sucks about being farsighted, able to see far away objects but not up close objects, in college is that in order to write notes I have to hold my glasses on the tip of my nose in order to see both the board and my notes at the same time.

Leto's enhanced sense of smell & scent memory comes in very handy considering they are farsighted to the degree that you could pass them in the street & they wouldn't be able to clearly see your facial features. They recognise you by scent alone in such circumstances.

I have an astigmatism, am near sighted and far sighted, have a lazy eye, have strabismus(I've had it since I was little, but I just learned the name for it recently because my old eye doctor said it was just my lazy eye, so forgive if the grammar is wrong), am night blind, have poor peripheral vision and the little I can see is just smears of color, am practically blind in one eye(I can't actually see out of it at all, but my eye doctor says there's a bit of vision left), and have very little if any depth perception, but I wear glasses, so obviously I'm not visually impaired(I've genuinely been told that)/sarcasm

The Next Epidemic!
Do you wonder why your parents continuously tell us to stop watching TV or reduce screen time. Well its due to a simple reason the reason is our generation is getting spectacles at the pace which is much higher then any other past generations. In India around 21% of children are wearing spectacles!. Well my friends we are moving towards a new epidemic. It is predicted that by the year 2050 around 50% of children will surfer from myopia or farsightedness. It was earlier believed getting myopia was linked to your genetics. However this DNA theory failed miserably in 1970 given the rates of this situation increasing. This gave rise to a new theory The Near Work Theory meaning anything we do excessively near will lead to myopia. This is extended to smartphones/ tablets and computers will increase our 2% percentage chances of getting myopia. There was also another theory called the Outdoor theory suggests that these days children are spending less time outdoors meaning exercise, sports they are not doing that adequately in the natural light. Natural light has a positive effect on our eyes because it realises dopamine a happiness hormone. It is so impactful that Taiwan (a country in Asia) has a rule that all school students should have maximum 2hrs of outdoor physical education /activities. Some of you may think what is the big deal we will only get glasses. Well my friend it is a big deal because if you get glasses you can never take them of because myopia is irreversible my friends unless you have a surgery that also after 18 years of age and once in lifetime . I hope you agree with me and promise yourself you will take good health of your eyes from now on.
