Dunno if this is something you've been asked before but how does our favorite post apocalyptic beanboy and his most excellent gal celebrate Halloween in the Commonwealth?
It's been a long time since we talked about this in detail (probably in 2014-15?) but I think we established that many traditional American holidays were lost in the Great War (people were more concerned with surviving, obviously). A lot of these celebrations were kept alive by Vault residents however. Buttons does his best to inspire his fellow Arefu settlers to celebrate Halloween to some extent and Meg plays along, even if it makes no sense to her. The budget Brahmin has to be my favorite Halloween post so I did a quick redraw:
Tumblr media
Buttons had a couple other Halloween costumes since 2014:
Butt-O-Ween skeleton
Slutty Molerat
Hancock (aka raunchy mayor)
GTA Online Buttons is a sexy cat every year

How would all three yans react to having children? Good or bad?
This is actually such a fun prompt and ask! Thank you for sending it in. I'd actually love to write a full post sometime instead of a small little drabble about this! It'd be so much fun imaging one of their daily routines and lives with a family.
Atticus:
-Isn't really that interested in kids unless his darling wants them. At first, he'll try to talk his darling out of it. Gives lists of reasons on why he can't be a dad. Eventually, comes around to it if his darling really wants them.
-He's a strict and stoic father. Makes sure the kids go to bed at a certain time, finish their chores and do their homework. The kids have to be punctual.
-Not a fan of extreme harsh punishments at all. No taking away meals, locking in closets or any of the sorts. Especially, hitting if they don't listen. (His parents used to do it to him which has resulted in a traumatized farmer)
-More type of look at the consequences of your actions. You don't do your homework, then you fail your class. You don't collect eggs from the chicken coop, no eggs for breakfast. You don't feed the dogs, look at them go hungry. (The doggies don't actually go hungry since Atticus secretly feeds them, they're just always begging for food)
-Shows he loves them through his actions instead of words. He'll take them special getaway trips, go bird watching, catch bugs, make presents, etc. He wants his kids to know that he loves them despite his strict behavior. He's trying to break the cycle of generational abuse that came from his parents. It's hard ngl but he makes an effort every day to overcome it.
For readers who imagine pregnancy:
-kisses your belly when you're asleep. Reassures the baby that he'll always take care of them. He would never do it when you're awake since he's nervous you'll deem him as less than manly or "strong".
-Does not let you work on the farm at all!! He hires extra farmhands to replace your usual help. Lectures and scolds you when you try to do anything. Don't you know that an accident could happen any time especially somewhere dangerous like this farm??
-Your safety and the baby's safety are top priority at all times.
-Watches films and tv shows about pregnancy and families. He makes sure to remember all the details so he can be the best father just like on the tv!
-No sexy time at all when pregnant! He's afraid it'll injure the baby. Only complies when his darling coaxes him into it but even then, it took a while.
Orion:
-Hella yea. The only one who's willing to jump on board and be excited for them. Takes the kids out on daily foraging and exploration nearby the home. Teaches them how to jot down information.
-Shows them his notes on all different types of plants, creatures and landscapes. Tells them which things to avoid and how to survive if in contact with dangerous creatures.
-Kids grow an immunity to his terrible cooking. Actually, enjoy it and treat is as an odd delicacy to be savored.
-The children are taught both languages. Darling's for communicating with other members of the species but his in case they need to talk, and others are listening in.
-Reminds the kids how much he adores them and their mother every day. Tells them tales about his home world and adventures with their mother.
-However, his favorite story to tell is about how their mother heroically saved him from death and starvation. Sometimes he embellishes details like
"Oh, your mother also fell in love at first sight with me. They were just too shy to admit it, but I could tell."
-The real question though, are human species able to get darling's species pregnant???
For readers who imagine pregnancy:
-Does darling get pregnant like a human? Orion will have to find out. However, I imagine the way of getting pregnant to be similar, but they don't give birth. Instead, an egg like thing forms within their reproductive system and they push out something similar to an egg.
-The egg would hatch within two months after growing to full term.
-Orion has built a nest for the egg and watches it every night. Proudly tells the egg about all the adventures they'll go on as family.
-Darling insists that Orion doesn't need to baby the egg since the shell is quite strong. Still, he doesn't listen and frets over any small movement from it. Makes little hats and scarves and dresses the egg in it.
-Orion makes sure to take so many notes during this period. What color is the egg? How long before it hatches? How many times does it move in an hour?
-He takes notes in case darling and him decide to have another egg baby. He'll be more prepared second round.
-Enjoys setting the mood up for some sexy time. He feeds you the right food, sets up the small hut just right and everything. Ofc he'll makes sure to cover the baby egg with a blanket. He doesn't want your baby egg to see anything inapposite after all.
Ivar:
-He'd want to wait a few years into marriage. The idea of kids is daunting. He's seen the worse of man and how destructive the world can be. Really nervous about letting kids out into that type of environment. Still, he does desire a family that you'll raise together.
-He's a fun goofy dad. Takes all the stress of the kids when he arrives home. Plays with them, teases them and drains all their energy so you can relax. I'd imagine that Ivar insists that you be a stay-at-home mom while he goes to work.
-Listens to his kid's problems from boyfriend issues to " I can't believe they cancelled my show". Actively enjoys listening to his kids talk about anything and everything.
-Signs his kids up for self-defense classes. He's aware that there's so many dangers in the world and he can't always be there to help. They've got to be prepared for anything that could happen.
-Supports his kids in all their activities. Shows up to every single game, recital, spelling bee, etc. Whatever it maybe, he'll be there. Wants them to know he cares about them and their interests.
-Doesn't really enjoy mentioning stories from his time at war to them. He's afraid it'll corrupt their world view and he want them to live a peaceful life :(
For readers who imagine pregancy:
-Ivar reads up on all those mom-blogs and pregnancy books. Puts headphones on your belly so your baby can listen to Mozart. Does it actually do anything? Idk the mom blog says it stimulates baby growth or something like that.
-You have a strong craving at 1 in the morning? He's on the case to get it for you. If he can't find it any stores, then he'll drive over to the next few towns to get it. He's so determined to find it.
-loves decorating the baby's nursery. He'll put up decorations and different decals for the baby. Also enjoys building things for it such as dresser and the crib.
-Also doesn't let you by yourself. You want to talk a walk around the neighborhood by yourself? Nope. He's right there holding your hand or pushing you in a wheelchair.
-loves to initiate sexy time with you. During his mom blog reading, he read that it was a great past time while pregnant. Plus, he loves you no matter what you look like even if you're insecure about your changing body.

Oh my god I woke up this morning and my Stardew Valley meta post had almost 150 notes????? Hello?????????? Anyways I started writing this last night because @moon-is-pretty-tonight left nice tags on the original so thank you so much!!
We know from the starting scenes of the game that the farmer's grandfather loved Stardew Valley. So why did he leave? Pelican Town is a good place to grow old; George and Evelyn are just fine. It's a fine place to raise a kid, but maybe he just wanted to raise his child closer to real schools and other children.
Or maybe, just maybe, he understood.
Was there a day when he was in his thirties where he looked at his friends and realized they weren't like him? That he could run faster than them, work longer, explore deeper into the hidden places of the valley?
Was there a day when he went to the wizard to ask him for help, for knowledge if nothing else? Did he learn then that his family was different? Special? Chosen? And how did he react? He couldn't possibly raise a child in the valley if they would be as strange and fey as him. He had to leave. There was no other way.
But years later, on his deathbed, did he regret that choice?
Is that why he gave the farmer the letter?
Is that why they went back home?
When the farmer steps off the bus that first day, the valley is still on the cusp of winter, just barely tipping over into spring. The flowers are starting to bloom, but a chill still hangs in the air. As soon as the farmer's boots touch the soil there's a change. The air gets warmer. The trees get greener. Not by too much, not all at once, but it changes.
The junimos watch the farmer as they do their work. They're new to farming, but take to it with frightening speed; their first batch of crops is perfect. None of the townsfolk tell them that parsnips don't normally grow in less than a week, that cauliflowers don't grow to be ten feet tall, that fairies don't visit when the sun goes down and grow potatoes and beans and tulips overnight. The junimos talk amongst themselves in their strange, wild language, and agree: this is the one. They're back. The valley recognizes its own, even when they've left for a generation. The farmers have come home.
Things change fast in the valley. The community center, empty and decrepit for so many years, is rejuvenated. (Lewis says it was abandoned only a few weeks after the farmer's grandfather left. Strange coincidence, he says, that it both came and went with the farmer's family.) The mines and the quarry, similarly abandoned, are explored for the first time in ages. The town becomes cleaner, brighter, more vibrant, happier.
And it is happier. Not just the environment, but the people. It's the talk of the town for weeks when Haley does her first closet purge. Leah's art show in the town square is a huge success. Shane's smiling for the first time since he moved to the valley. All of them, when asked, say it's all thanks to the farmer.
People love to ask why Lewis didn't fix the community center on his own. Why Willy never repaired the boat to ginger island. Why Abigail or Marlon never went down to fix the elevator in the mines, or why Clint didn't fix the minecarts.
But isn't it so much more interesting to ask how those things were there in the first place? How they got so broken down? If the stories the townspeople tell are true, the valley was once a beautiful place, flourishing and full of life; why did that change? When did it change?
Was it when the farmer's grandfather, the locus of the valley, its chosen representative, left town?
And if so, what happens when the farmer comes back?

....starting to get the shape of how Ludinus sold radical anti-every-government-on-Exandria-action to Liliana. "Vasselheim is going to kill your daughter and it's YOUR fault" does seem like it would sway a terrified person, especially if they have a convenient run in with a Judicator early on in the seduction process.

In case you can’t read my handwriting:
Horror: Wait! Uh- … be safe
Farmer: I will
Horror: *waves goodbye*
Dust: (mocking) Please, be safe!
Killer: (also mocking) I will!
Horror: Can you guys STOP?
Horror: I will kill you
Killer: but how will that keep us safe?

could u do xavier and reader being rivals and he’s always calling reader babe and says “step up ur game, babe” 🧎‍♀️
I MIGHT START TO THINK
pairings: Xavier Thorpe x Fem!reader summary: ^^^ warnings: light swearing notes: the reader is said to had telekinesis. this is kind of really long
Tumblr media
Xavier sat across the room from you, watching as you wrote down in your book.
you two had no reason to not like each other, but it didn't stop you from tearing at each other's throats, throwing snarky comments and death glares at each other.
"so I've decided to set a goal for the class. over the semester, each week you'll be given different sets of tasks that you will need to complete. people who don't will get it done each week will be eliminated until only one stands and wins. He or She will win a prize" the teacher explained
"so it's a challenge to the best?" Xavier smirked at the teacher.
"exactly" she nodded
you looked back at Xavier as he turned to you again with a smug smile on his face
"these challenges will be set each monday and finish the following monday. they will be spread throughout all subjects, meaning some of you might have an advantage in some. they will include things like planting plants, training things, creating things and will be some that will involve studying and writing as well" the teacher announced
"what's our first challenge?" Yoko asked
"you'll be attempting to grow one of these flowers" she pointed to the ghost orchid in the case
"are there rules?" Enid questioned
"the only rule is no stealing each others work or plagiarism in the writing tasks. if you fail to do any of the work your will be disqualified. if your flower is dead or not yet bloomed it will be a fail and you are out" she replied with a smile
"each of you will be given one seed to grow. you will not be given another under any circumstances, they are all able to grow and if they can't it's because of you not the seed" she said, gowing around, handing a little zip-lock bag of a single seed in it to each student.
the bell rang for lunch and everyone got out of their seats
"see you next lesson!"
you walked out of the room, with a specific tall and long haired boy trailing behind you
"the game is on, babe" he winked when he walked past you, heading off with Ajax
--
you walked into class, holding your Orchid in a clay pot, seeing everybody else's
you saw Kent's and a few others wilted or hasn't blossomed orchids and smiled in your success in growing it
"mine looks better" his voice called from behind you, your rolled your eyes as you saw Xaviers flower
"it looks like it's about to die" you scoffed
"things are so much more beautiful when they're on the urge of death, it makes it more exciting" he remarked
"class! take your seats" Thornhill called, walking into the room. everyone took their seats and and she walked to each desk. telling people if their out or not
"well done, L/n" she nodded at you with an impressed look on her face. you turned behind you where Xavier sat.
"there's no way she'll except yours" you stated
"we'll see about that" he said before you turned around
she got to Xavier's table and looked at his orchid, she told him it looks good and that's he's still in before walke to the next person
"told you" he whispered, leaning over his desk to get to your ear
he made your blood boil.
Thornhill walked to the front of the room, explaining your next challenge for the people who were still in. the people who were eliminated had to 15 push ups
-
that went on for the whole semester. You and Xavier going at each other's throats, trying to get the best work in to make it better than the others
you would do better at some, he would do better at others. but this one who knew he would do better. there were 7 people left in the challenge and you were trying you best
it was a scavenger hunt with the ticket to be in the next round at the end.
you had been stuck on your third riddle for a few hours
"what could this mean?" you groaned, hanging upside down off your bed, talking to Enid who had gotten out in the fourth round.
"let me hear it again" she said
"I always stay as still as can be. I have the power to move, but not literally." you repeated for the millionth time
"still? a lot of things are still. but move? I'm not sure" she shrugged "i have the power to move, but not literally" she whispered to herself
"I thought trees at first but they can move in the wind" you stated
"that's true. what does it mean by it can move but not literally, if it can move, it can move. if it can't literally move then it can't move" she huffed
"I know"
you to sat there quietly while you thought
"well what if it's means you can move it but it can't move itself?" you suggested, getting some weird idea in your head
"that doesn't make sense though" she sighed
you looked at your desk, seeing a little figurine of a three headed dog
"A statue!?" you sat up on the bed and looked at her
she thought for a second, repeating the riddle before nodding her head
"that sounds right, but which one, there's a lot in our school" she pointed out,
"so I'll just look at all of them" you sighed before getting up, hurrying out the door, going the each statue
you got to your third one, the Poe statue, you looked around it, peaking around the legs and foot before you looked to what he was holding, a book with 5 envelopes, meaning 2 people already got it before you
"not too bad" you muttered to yourself
you grabbed the envelope, getting down and opening it, reading it to yourself
the second last clue.
I'm a bed without sheets, and I'm always dirty it read
"a dirty bed?" you thought to yourself, walking around the school
"you need to step up your game if you want to beat me. Babe" the familiar voice echoed throughout the room. you looked around but didn't see him, until you looked up, he leaned on the railings of the staircase
"stop calling me that" you huffed
"alright, babe" he smiled cockily
"are you holding a flower?" you questioned him confused
"why yes, do you want it?" he asked before dropping it, letting the small flower flow down to you.
you picked it up as it dropped at your feet. noticing the flower was ripped from the ground. you realised the answer to the riddle.
"thanks, Idiot" you laughed
"you're very welcome, babe" he smiled at you
you ran out and and went to the flowerbed in the yard of the school. you looked around everywhere for it but didn't find it anywhere. you questioned it before thinking of the other possibilities the clue could have lead to
"that doesn't make sense" you thought to yourself
you repeated your actions and looked over it again
"you look lost, babe. didn't think I was leading you to the answer, did you?" Xavier chuckled behind you
"it was the only reasonable answer" you rolled your eyes
"I would help you but I really want to win" he spoke disappointedly
"I don't need your help"
"sure seems like you do" he shrugged before walking off, past the garden beds where student grew some foods
your eyes lit up and you scurried over there, looking through the big lettuce, finding the last envelope, you thought for a second before taking the other one's too. throwing them away in the bin. there was no chance the other's would win this challenge without them, which meant more chance of beating Xavier
you read the letter
the building that has the most stories
you thought of the buildings in town, but there was no way she would make us go that far for it, and she said everything was on the premises, meaning it had to be in the school
you thought through
"stories, like history? like the most history it has to offer or tell?" Enid quizzed when you told her.
"maybe, but isn't a building, this is arguably the only building. so that doesn't help.
"what about rooms in the building? like the room that has the most history?" she lifted an eyebrow
"yeah, but what would that be? I would say the quad but that's not a room" you groaned
"what if the answer is really simple. like the history rooms?" she proposed
"I feel like it wouldn't be that easy. it had to be hard" you shook your head
"well stories are books, right? what about the library?" you thought
"that makes sense"
--
"thank god" you prayed, finding your ticket to the next round
"wow, didn't know you were this smart"
you turned around and saw Xavier
he walked up to you and reached over, grabbing his ticket and smiled down at you as he had you against the bookshelf of the open library
"though you're pretty stupid for leading me here, babe" he smirked down at you
"I didn't lead you here, you followed me" you glared up at him
"who cares, there's no rules" he whispered
"I'll beat you" you hissed
"i'm sure you will, babe" he pouted sarcastically
"you're an ass" you barked
"and you're a babe, babe" he winked
"get off me" you grunted, pushing him off you
"hey, hey, hey. don't resolve to violence, sweetheart" he chuckled softly
you walked past him. leaving the library
"good luck, babe!" he yelled out to you
--
only two remains in the challenge, you and Xavier
it was an in class test, Thornhill would say questions and you had to answer the fastest to get the point. they're questions of all topics
"what is a three headed dog called?" she asked
Xavier pressed his button "Cerberus"
"when was Jericho's first pilgrim settlement?"
"1625" you answered
"and who is Jericho's founder?"
"Joseph Crackstone" you answered first again
there's 50 answers in total. and the score is 23 both ways. 4 more questions to reveal the winner
"for the last questions, you will take turns answering, I'll ask you a question and if you get it wrong, you won't get the point and the question goes to the other person." Thornhill explains
"good luck, Babe. I'll go easy on you" he joked
"Xavier, what year was Ye Olde Fudgery established?" she asked
"1945" he said "that's wrong, mister Thorpe"
"you knew that one" you whispered to him.
"I know" he smiled
"Y/n, question goes to you"
you looked at Xavier before answering faulsley
"1955" you looked at her
"that's correct"
"alright then" he turned to Thornhill
"Y/n, what route are we located on"
you looked over at Xavier before purposely answering incorrectly
"route 54" you answered.
"wrong. Xavier" she turned to him
"route 22?" he replied, looking at you
"correct" she nodded
"Xavier, what do carnivorous plants reward their pollinators with?"
"sexual trickery"
"correct"
"the winner comes down to this last question" she paused "Y/n"
"yes" you nodded, ready for the question
"who was the artist who painted 'Mona Lisa?'" she asked
you took a deep breath before looking over at Xavier. you wanted to saw it, but something gold you not to. so you said someone else
"Michelangelo" you sighed
"that's incorrect. Xavier, same question"
he looked over at the regret on your face and didn't want to win if you were letting him
"Vincent van Gogh" he looked away from you as you stared at him
"we can't leave it as a tie. so we need another question"
"what are you doing? I was letting you win" you whispered
"I don't want to win" he confessed quietly
"Xavier? how many bones does an adult human have?" Thornhill questioned
"one hundred and fifty" Xavier answered incorrectly
"wrong, Y/n?"
"one hundred and ninety" you lied
this went on for a while, you two going back and fourth saying the wrong answers until Thornhill got disappointed
"alright then, both of you win" she sighed
"that's not how it works, there can only be one winner" you fought, looking at Xavier with a glare as you finished speaking
"then answer the question correctly, I know you know all of the answers" Xavier scoffed
"I know you do too" you crossed your arms
"that's enough you too. you both win"
---
"why'd you do that?" Xavier came up behind you
"what do you mean?" you blinked
"why did you try to let me win?" he threw his hand up in the air before dropping them to his sides
"you tried to let me win too" you laughed
"you did it first" he shrugged
"so you didn't need to continue it" you rolled your eyes
"you better stop doing that, babe. I might start to think you have a little crush on me" he smirked
"I might start to think that too"
"you wanna know what I think?" he looked at his feet
"let's hear it" you took a deep breath
"I think I like you" he confessed
"I think I hate you..." you said, his face slightly fell "...because I like you too much" you admitted
he smiled at you, showing his dimples
"scared me a little there, babe" he sighed

it’s been four months since December 2022 and I’m still not over the fact that Reigen was apparently so haunted by guilt from that one time in S2E2 where he scolded Mob for eating too many french fries that it showed up in the super emotionally charged eyecatcher montage during the series finale.
Tumblr media
I wonder if reigen will ever find the closure he needs to free himself from the poltergeist of regret that obviously follows him around as a result of this incident. the confession incident really had reigen re-evaluating everything from the past three years.
