My favorite thing ever about Anti-Cosmo and the Head Pixie is that you look at Anti-Cosmo and it's like-

"Oh, this is the stereotypical evil villain who is flamboyant, intelligent, suave, and in control! All the other magical antagonists probably defer to him." And then you actually watch him and he does stuff like-

Throw away his wand

Fly in circles at record speeds

Run away from confrontation

Write with colored pens and change color every sentence

Throw paper airplanes

Crash into things

Throw tantrums

Read comic books

Fly a private jet despite being able to fly and teleport

Keep cows in his castle

Keep a cat in his pocket

Stand on the fancy dining table

Pretend to be a scone

Break character as a scone by running away laughing

Defer to H.P. even in his own castle

Defer to his son even in his own castle

Raise an anti-fairy child with H.P. for some reason that's never explained, but which Jorgen has photo evidence of ?? You raised an anti-fairy with the leader of the Pixies ??

Also, knows H.P. and Jorgen well enough to recognize when Jorgen is actually H.P. in disguise??

And there's H.P. who wears a nice suit, works at Pixies Incorporated in the big city, and talks about puppeting people, so you approach thinking "Okay, this is the strict boss who wants all the paperwork filed. He represents why you shouldn't make deals with fairies because he has all these complicated contracts and he's not going to allow wiggle room. Dull and boring; got it."

But it turns out he likes to-

Go to raves

Sing rap songs

Breakdance

Spin on his head and drill into the floor

Wear flowers

Get drunk

Hang out in the hot tub

Climb on people's shoulders

Build miniature models

Fist bumps and finger guns

Call people "Dude"

Draw skulls on things

Say "Gasp" instead of gasping

Get up from his desk and dance around, announcing in monotone "Go me, go me; it's my birthday"

Listen to someone argue with him and then respond with "No, that's hilarious"

Also fly a private jet despite being able to fly and teleport

Elbow people in the side while teasing them

Feed you pizza by shoving his entire hand in your mouth

Stand right in front of you and prank call you

Wear two hats at the same time

Hop on a flying scooter, announce "The only thing you'll be eating is my dust! Later, dude!" and peace out

Complain too many people like him

Use babies as yo-yos

Also, H.P. won a footrace against Anti-Cosmo?? This man made the conscious choice to run instead of fly and he won!?

And that's not even getting into the cross-dressing or the fact that A.C. and H.P. grab each other and hug when they're scared. 10/10 character design. They are so silly...

The Skeleton Queens (Info Dump)

Long-ish! Mentions of violence and lack of wings.

Lanette - The Fairy Queen of the Dark

Personality: A person who is both fearsome and cold. She is sweet in many ways, yet she can also be frightening. She has complete mastery of the shadows and is far from weak. She's a little playful, and she lunges for the throat. She is extremely powerful, and she is well aware of it. She is a bit of a flirt, and she exudes a mysterious air. She is surrounded by many powers. She is smooth and meticulous, she tips the scales in her favor, and nothing can stop her. She is also very aware of her beauty.

Appearance: She is a skeleton. She has smoky grey eyes. She has fangs and she has permanent eyeliner under her eyes. She has beautiful silver and black butterfly wings, but she hides them. She's about 5'8". She has a tail.

Olette - The Fairy Queen of the Light

Personality: A terrifying, but lovely fairy. She is incredibly powerful, but she is also compassionate and caring. She is much warmer than Lanette, but far more terrifying. She is nasty and cold to those she suspects of causing damage to her subjects and loved ones. She has an enigmatic attitude and will not hesitate to intimidate anyone she considers a threat. She is frequently silent and unthreatening until she is not. Her personality is similar to that of a cat. She has free control over light and watches from a distance rather than being hands-on.

Appearance: She is a skeleton. She has cool light gray eyes. She had silver and white butterfly wings. She, however, is presently wingless. She's about 5'8". She has a tail.

Sebille - The Fallen Queen of Angels

Personality: She formerly ruled over an angelic realm before falling. She is a stunningly gorgeous, astute, and powerful being. She is not frightened of anything and is capable of being extremely violent. She used to be a Guardian angel. She has a chilly side to her kind nature and can be nasty when necessary. She looks after the group and comes to aid with caution. She is a fallen angel with little fear. She is not afraid to stand firm and use her magic to protect her people. She also has a lot of control over her divine magic.

Appearance: She is a skeleton. She has beautiful sky-blue eye lights. She has six pairs of wings that she keeps hidden. She is about 5'6". She has a tail.

Elvina - The Fallen Queen of Demons

Personality: She was previously the ruler of a demonic realm. A fiery and angry individual. She can be cruel at times, but she is usually rational and cool. She readily looks after others and isn't scared to show how powerful she is. She is skilled in demonic magic and is not afraid to use it. She is a vicious person who goes for the throat. She isn't scared to show how frigid she can be and never backs down from a fight. She, on the other hand, is far nicer than one might expect, and she frequently looks after lost demonic children. Show just how cold, she can be. She, however, tends to be far kinder than one anticipates and she often looks after lost demonic children.

Appearance: She is a skeleton with horns, six pairs of wings, and a tail. She keeps her horns and wings hidden. She is about 6'0". She has glowing light red eye lights.

This Sunday afternoon I was running for a tram and there was a knock at the door

I live in a city where you don't use the front door so thought "I'm already on my way out, I'll see who it is when I get round the front" (there's too much stuff in the way to even open the front door)

because here's the thing here's the thing the question was not "would you be more surprised to run into a fairy or a walrus" the question was "would you be more surprised to find a fairy or a walrus AT YOUR DOOR" and while no, i do not believe in fairies and would be surprised to know they EXIST i would NOT be surprised to find one at my door. HOWEVER, if a WALRUS shows up at my door i have to contend with the fact that a walrus somehow made it to my apartment specifically and knocked on my door for god knows what reason. i would be more surprised to know that a fairy EXISTS, of course, but NOT that they're at my door, do you get me?

truth is, underneath it all, a lot of our beliefs aren't rational, and they're formed young. all those stories of magical protagonists. secret worlds if you just had the key. creatures just out of view. all that shit we imagined doesn't go away because we got older. in a lot of ways it gets bigger, more elaborately built on.

i think we're hiding the emotionally devastating core of the walrus vs fairy debate under jokes.

you see a fairy on your doorstep? and you think finally.

I really wish Crocker's official backstory had been "Crocker had his fairies between ages 10 and 18 and was the only godkid to ever have them that long before Timmy came into the picture; the reason that he's obsessed with finding them is because 8 years of his memories were altered.... and ooh, spooky, Timmy might be next."

It would have added a lot of intensity to Timmy's life if he was desperate not to lose his fairy family because he loves them and will do anything for them, including wishing to freeze time for 50 years, but at the same time there's this looming idea of "You're going to end up like Crocker, you're going to be the next crazy teacher, you're sealing your own fate," and that would have been amazing.

I write canon-compliant 'fics using "Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker" for his backstory, but if I were to do some sort of lore tweak fic, I'd totally go with this idea. It's haunting and perfect.
