What's the level of technology in fotm?

Quasi-pre-industrial age. Manufacturing hasn't been automated yet and products aren't mass-producible, so things are still handmade by craftsmen, artisans, and engineers. As such, the tech is very valuable and often beautifully ornate, with detailed engravings or paintings.

However, the world got a bit of a jumpstart when thousand-year-old texts, prototypes, artifacts, and blueprints of amazing technology from a forgotten Golden Age were uncovered. These discoveries included a way to control and channel Earthian magic through engines to power weaponry and machinery. Thus, the invention of light gunships. Certain electronic technology exists too. However, the people of this time haven't been able to properly reverse-engineer it yet.

I took inspiration from the Ghibli design philosophy of smooth, organic lines and strange silhouettes. For the light ships, I wanted to avoid showing propellers to make them look as non-mechanical as possible. I also used the designs of WW1 aircrafts as reference, as I wanted the light ships to be built mostly out of wood.

The heavier metal ships (which will make an appearance soon) are much more complicated, however, and require magicians on board to make them fly.

Could you show us potential villains in FOTM?

There are actually no villains in FOTM. We didn't feel like there needed to be a main antagonist of the story. Rather, the conflict comes from the characters getting caught up in wars and forces far larger than them and out of their control.

Is Luci’s curse form a permanent thing or does she turn into a monster at a certain time?

The curse is permanent! We'll show the designs soon enough (Tulli cooked up something fantastic), but we wanna keep it a bit of a secret for now.

Why was Nadeen exiled? Is there a chance the main characters will cross paths with Nadeen's former legion of knights at some point?

Nadeen was exiled about five years ago due to disobeying orders while in battle. She refused to kill unarmed enemy combatants. Her life was spared after a benefactor in the house council convinced the court to let her go, but her status as royal knight was stripped and she was dishonorably discharged, set loose to wander the lands as a ranger or mercenary.

Their journey will actually take her to the royal city from whence she was exiled from (which is why the village chose her to accompany the other two), so yes. Nadeen will cross many paths with her former comrades.

In that fantasy project, was Luciana’s father forced to join that war? Does she live alone sans Caspar?

Luciana's father was recruited, rather than drafted or forced.

She lives in a women's abbey in the town and, being a young adult, has a small room to herself. The abbey isn't necessarily religious (the village's religion is closer to Paganism, though), but is run by older women of the village to keep the younger girls occupied and productive.

What is Caspar's role? Is he like a sort of deuteragonist? I'm curious as to what his arc could look like since he's not the one with the curse and kinda seems like the kind of dude who wishes he was just chilling.

While Luci and Nadeen go on big character arcs, Caspar is sort of the rock of the team, tethering the others. He'll, of course, go through some development, but his stability keeps the other two in check. He just wants to make sure everyone gets through the journey in once piece! Think Samwise from LOTR or Katara from A:TLA.
