One day, your phone dies so you can't check the time before and after you shower to know how long it took. You exit the shower and find that everything has evolved into crabs. Based on a true story (something like this happened to me on Thursday).

 the shallow sea. a shallow sea region that divides the two halves of GarGoraqi. during high tied the entire region is completely flooded and during the lowest of low tides it is covered in tide-pools and shallow banks.  tides in music box are rather extreme, because even with the planets ridiculous size the four moons the planet has make the tides so large. the biggest moon  is responsible for the most extreme tides, though the other moons all affect them. sometimes the difference between high and low tide can be nearly 75ft (22.8 meters) with there being more extreme types of tides closer to 125 ft (38.1 meters) in tidel diffrence.  during most tides that fall between the two extremes the sea has water but it is on the shallow end, some areas are only covered by a surface layer of water but most of the shallows range from depths of 1ft to 16 ft ( 30.48cm--5m) some of the deeper parts often reach depths of 40ft (12m) though rarely exceeds that depth. the land on either side of the shallow sea often has vegetation. to the north you have a Mediterranean climate with warm wet winters and calm hot dry summers. though with the proximity to the equator it on average a bit muggier. in the south shore of the shallow sea the weather and climate is subtropical, with hot and humid summers, and stormy winters. because of the two shores proximity to each other there tends to be a variety of violent storms, though the south shore of the shallow sea tends to revive the brunt of it. (due to tides and winds)  some species found  in the shallow sea - common animals found in tide pools are found in the region, things such as corals, anemones, sea urchins, sea stars, snails and sea slugs, sea cucumbers, sand charm (we would call them sand dollars), barnicals, chiton, limpets,  clams and oysters,  a variety of minnow like fish, shrimp, crabs, rarely lobsters, horseshoe crabs, and octopi 

- tidepool ammonites- a diverse amount of subspecies of ammonite that have specialized to surviving in tide pools.

- sharks, the three most common kinds of sharks found in the shallow sea are the tiny fisher’s bane sharks, large rose snouted sharks and on the shelf drop of the shallow sea you can find frilled sharks.

- sea dragons, this is a nicknamed for a relative of ocean dwelling monitor lizard. 

- sea turtles, both of the soft shell and hard shell variety,the y come in all shapes and sizes, from the latest dragon turtle reaching lengths of 10-15 ft (3-4.6 meters), leather back 6-10 ft (1.8-3 meters), and alligator snapping turtles who dominate the shallow estuaries at the mouth of where the shallow sea meets the land. to the smallest turtles such as the sand charm turtles 3-5 in (7.6-12.7 cm), rose-bud turtles 1/2-1ft (15.2-30.5 cm).

-neptonians, the Neptonian empire technically claim all of the shallow sea as their territory, but only have a few colonies in the area due to concerns for the fragile ecosystem, the most kind of common Neptonian found in the region are shallow sea sirens, though mermaids and finfolk are also found 

-sea snake gorgans, there's roughly three hives of snake people that live on or near the shallow sea at any given time. the most common adaptation they have is that they have bodies better adapted for swimming such as sea snakes and sea kraits, like true sea snakes they can hold their breath ranging from 30 min to up to 8 hrs. - sea snakes and sea kraits (sea snakes that live part time on land), there's a multitude of species that live all around the shallow sea and even into the iles of heaven, they are reptiles, snakes with a paddle like tail. -seahorse and crustacean demilions, because demilions adapt to where they are going to live, the demilion of the shallow sea have made adaptations to make them more like crabs (insert joke about everything evolving to into crabs) the deeper water ones have more seahores like bodies

-isopods, both giant and small, all live 

-caqsals- cat snails, fisher cats with snail shells. -river rutssets, weasel like creatures that are roughly the size of housecats, they have striped tails and a bark back with a lighter underbelly. these long creatures scurry up and down the trees long river banks, they also hunt among reeds of estuaries. -tretvi, humanoid they are only found in the western parts of the shallow sea on islands close to the island of cirestiv, they are able to induce hallucinations and confusion, may have originally evolved on O’ller and O’sten. they might have been related to the fairy creatures called rabbits. -norings, are prolific, horrific shapeshifters. they are demon kin that much like duelo and animal demons they can found on many most continents though are much rarer on continents without humans, similarly to vampires, reapers and duelo, the highest concentration of norings anywhere is in Gargoraqi. - jeni and dijeni, some live along the coast line but they mostly inhabit the inner regions of Gargoraqi. one is even kin with a range of abilities including elemental control, wish granting and invisibility/illusions, the other ids demon kin with th ability to take on animal shapes and staff through shadows -jouri are small flying creature, they stand around 3ft-4ft (91.44-121.92 cm) tall, they are not able to talk but communicate by chirping. they are only found in Gargoraqi and the surrounding islands. they are sometimes seen nesting on the shores or islands in the shallow sea. -sea gulls, sea trout, and other shore birds, that can and will smith you and then steal your dinner, drawn in by the large amounts of potential prey. -pelicans, freaky birds, there are two species prominent in the region, brown pelicans and the larger silver beaked pelicans  -flamingos, that feast on shrimp and krill, they hav a range from down in ralunjas up to the bobby forest and cape of death in scalipia. they are there along with other wading shore birds, like sand pipers, egrets, ibises, spoon bills and herons. aquarius placements are not unemotional sociopaths and honestly this is such a goofy ass take. aquarius’ archetype literally centers around their need to advance society and wanting to help those around them as a means to do so. can their saturnian influence make them come off as cold in their approach sometimes? sure. but the whole “aquarius doesn’t have emotions and doesn’t care about anyone’s feelings” doesn’t make any type of sense considering the fact that aquarius craves connection with others in order to feel fulfilled

speaking of saturnian influence, y’all need to check up on your saturnian friends, especially if you’re below the age of 30. people tend to bring up how destructive and chaotic pluto is and the effect it can have on you if it’s tightly aspecting your personal planets, but i feel like people overlook the way that saturnian energy literally starts chipping away at you the moment you pop out the coochie. a lot of saturnians will consciously put too much on their plate because they don’t know how to function without overworking themselves, or, they’re distracting themselves from heavy emotions that they don’t want to feel. the idea of being alone with their thoughts is the most terrifying thing to them, and they would definitely benefit from having people around them that can slow them down and help them relax

to any parents (or people who work with children), please be gentle with your water sign babies. especially the scorpios and pisces. i feel like we don’t give children enough credit for how intelligent they actually are, and when it comes to water sign children i promise you, they know exactly what the fuck is going on. they know that you’re stressed out, they can recognize the energy in the room, and they’re internalizing all of your emotions and can be more prone to feeling overstimulated because of it. be patient with them, and as a former water sign baby myself, give them a hug for me <3

and since we’re giving out hugs, i gotta give a virtual one to my pisces and virgo placements. pisces and virgo are both signs of service, and typically opt to suffer in silence for the sake of those around them. i feel like pisces is the “worst” of the two, as pisces struggles with boundaries, and even when we’re being mistreated or abused by others we can literally convince ourselves that that’s actually not the case and that everything’s fine. pisces is also the only water sign that doesn’t have “armor” (cancer [the crab] has its shell, and scorpio [the scorpion] has its exoskeleton, claws, and stinger), which results in us getting hurt a lot. it’s typically why some pisces placements are prone to escapist tendencies, addiction, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. but pisces is the oldest of the zodiac, and there’s so much wisdom and spiritual knowledge that we unlock once we grow and evolve enough to “swim away” from the shit that doesn’t serve us

and i bring this up because i feel like pisces is constantly coded as “delusional” or “hyper-emotional”, and i know y’all love pointing out how “judgemental” and “nitpicky” virgo is. and while those stereotypes can be true depending on the person, i feel like the amount of energy pisces and virgo put into helping other people is constantly overshadowed by whatever “flaws” they may have. there was a tweet i read that said “maybe the final stage in your healing journey is finally telling people to fuck off”, that’s very much so the advice i’d give to pisces and virgo. your worth is not intrinsically linked to how much pain you can withstand or how much abuse you can tolerate from people who claim to love you. you deserve so much more and i promise there’s something bigger and better waiting for you on the other side of what it is that you’re currently settling for

i feel like the importance of 12H, neptune, water sign placements can often get overlooked in comparison to more practical, “realistic” planetary/sign placements. it’s definitely important to have balanced, grounded energy in your chart alongside these types of placements, but i feel like people underestimate how powerful it is to have spiritual and creative placements as well. and while these can be difficult aspects to master, i feel like once you do get to a point where you’ve done the work it can not only make you an incredible artist, but an extremely compassionate, empathetic healer. people with these placements tend to go through a lot, and experience an insane amount of turmoil. but no matter how tired you are, and no matter how misunderstood or lost you may feel, you’re here to serve a greater purpose and your craft is sacred. you have tools at your disposal that it takes people years upon years to develop, and it’s not something that should be taken for granted

In your posts about parasites of spaceships, you talked about a bird evolving into a blind tadpool swimming in the fuel tank which sounded so fascinating. Do you have any real life examples of parasites evolving from complex to simple body plans?

That's just how it goes with parasites! Their host performs so many functions for them, they can afford to lose a lot of their own systems. A famous example are the rhizocephalans, which are barnacles. Barnacles are crustaceans, like crabs, so they have complex anatomy with brains and hearts and legs and eyes and mouths and sensory antennae, and rhizocephalans still have normal anatomy when they're larvae, but as adults, they become nothing but blobs of tissue parasitizing their own crab cousins. The barnacle here is the yellow blobs:

Another example is a parasite you can find in sea cucumbers, Enteroxenos oestergreni, which looks a lot like a tapeworm:

....But it's actually a SNAIL! In the sea cucumber host it lost basically everything other than its reproductive system; this "worm" is nothing but a long chain of egg sacs that float in the cucumber's body and soak up nutrients to stay alive.

So I was going through the process of “please let me be disabled on your airplane” today, right? And I saw someone. With a whole-ass CRUSTLE. Not as a therapy mon, no-- the crustle was literally acting as a mobility aid. Had a particularly shaped rock that functioned as a comfy chair for the rider, and then some extra padding and everything. 

Apparently? This is what happens in some cultures when a kid is born sickly. They get a dwebble, and then when it evolves into a crustle, it acts as their wheelchair. No cupholders or under chair storage, but you can be tall and go up stairs on your lasagna crab.

Gods, that’s so cool.

OK, so I'll openly admit to getting a little obsessed with this headcanon. But but but... My expanded theory on Hob as successor to Father Time and Dream as the next Night.

So the Why... Hob is Hope and Delight and Curiosity and all those things people have called him in abundance. But what this all accumulates to is he loves 'LIFETIME'. He appreciates the time he has. Every second of it! The good and the bad. The memories of the past, the everyday wonders of the present, the potential of the future. He doesn't waste a minute of it. He respects and revels in Time. It's his one true gift, Hob has Time and makes a masterpiece of it.

And the How... the Greeks, (who seem to be really up on their Endless know how in their own way) had three divine representations of time..

1.The first, Opportunity, luck and favorable moments.

2. The next level is Eternity, The Zodiac /The turning of time/months/seasons etc

3. Finally the Big Dog, Time itself.. Past, Present, Future

So we say that's the three stages a new Time will journey through.

Hob is literally 'birthed' as Time's successor through 'opportunity'. A case of gets cocky at the right place, right time and boom... In that instance, Death withholds her gift, and after some bargining with dear old dad. Father Time pours himself into Hob to stop the age and decay of his mortal body. Too much of himself. The process of one Time fading and one Time ascending begins!

Say from that point on the power of opportunity is Hobs, even though he doesn't know it. Things just work for him and those he cares about. Who's ever side he's fighting on in a battle 'will' win. The printing press for example, he joins it as a no hope career then it explodes! Hob just puts it down to good luck and a can do attitude.

By the End of the 1500s he's slowly evolving into the next stage, Eternity. Learning to respect the natural cycle of time, the change of the seasons, with life comes death...Yeah, this stage starts with a hard lesson.

So by this point, the power of life, memory and time are all slowly building up within Hob. Every turn of the wheel that passes for him, it grows. Now this could take centuries to come to fruition. But over the years, not that he'd notice, say, the seasons seem to be perfect wherever he goes. His memory, even as an immortal shouldn't be able to withtain everything he's been through. But he has perfect recall of everything from 1389 onwards. Maybe people around him get that little extra boost for experiencing life in the time they have. I also love the idea of the embodiements of the Zodiac being at his unknowing beck and call. He's sat talking to a crab and is like, "Let's have a good July this year. What do you think little crab?" And Cancer replies in crab... 'Ofcourse my liege!' and skuttles off to see to it immediately.

Final stage, Time itself. Learning to be and master Past, Present and Future... Where the fun really starts.

Hob waking up a different age every day of the week until he gets a handle on it.

Accidentally trapping himself in a time loop beacuse he was so focused on how a situation could have played out better.

Wishing he could have been there to help Dream and suddenly find himself standing outside of Fawney Rig in the 1920. And having seen enough movies to know he can't change anything. Even though he wants to more then anything.

Sneezing too hard and ending up in a different universe 100 years in the future. And having to call on a very white and definitely not 'his' Dream of the Endless to find his way back.

Hob may be starting to realise somethings a miss by now...

As for Dream becoming Night. Of all the Endless Siblings, Dream is the closest in function to Mother Night. While you can certainly dream during the day. Sleep and Night generally go hand in hand. He also seems to have taken for her the most in appearance if those starry eyes are anything to go by..

But well, the moment Hob decided, 'That's the anthropomorphic personification I'm going to marry!' his fate was sealed. Time HAS to have a Night. Mummy dearest is now slowly on the wane as her power slowly passes to her son.

I doubt Dream would notice any major changes for a while. He's got a lot on his plate to contend with after all. But maybe little things...

One morning he's snuggling with Hob and the dawn sunlight beams straight into his eyeballs. And Dream thinks, 'Go away...' And suddenly it's night again until his highness deems it time to get up.

The Stars in their masses start to visit the Dreaming to pay their respects to Dream. Which is all very nice, but he has absolutely no idea why its happening.

Dream is regarding himself in the mirror and notices his skin is starting to ever so slighlty sparkle. Thinks, 'I am getting old, I'm turning into my Mother.' Yup, quite literally duck. 😆

Then we come to the events of 'The Wake'. But a different kind of death awaits Dream, that of transformation. Daniel becomes Dream, Dream becomes Night. Hob ascends as the new Time... And Father Time and Mother Night's A* parenting comes back to bite them in some truly cosmic level karma.
