THOUGHTS on Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

I'll start with two statements regarding Anya Taylor Joy's casting and go from there.

I like her (I know some don't).

I agree she doesn't look like Charlize Theron (and we all know Charlize realized Furiosa as much as Miller did).

BUT a thing that struck me as soon as I heard she was cast was that she had that ethereal vibe of the Five (when I first saw them, the word 'mermaids' wouldn't leave my mind). I could see Anya playing a 'wife', which works with a backstory, I don't think any fan would like to watch play out on the screen...

Now let's try not to be too skeptical: she's tall like Furiosa, there's the probability she was more feminine as a girl living in a feminine world the Green Place of Many Mothers, she didn't need to be as muscular in her youth so she wasn't, etc.

Now. The trailer didn't manage to completely sell me the idea of Anya as Furiosa, but it eased some of my nerves. THE EYES! I saw a troll post on redit literally the day before the trailer dropped with close-ups of Theron and Joy (brown-eyed) captured "Furiosa eye color change?"

I've read the meta, I knew the eyes were carefully retouched in Fury Road in post-production, so I had hope. And seeing Anya's eyes in the trailer, I thought to myself, 'This is THE death stare. This is Furiosa'. And when she screamed all disheveled, I liked that part best. The one with her face covered, making the V8 symbol - second best.

I liked that she was shooting, I liked that cropped-out-seconds-rising-the-tension-rising-the-momentum Gorge Miller magic, I liked how over the top Lord Dementus was, it worked for me. Joe looked like Joe, I believe he didn't have any lines.

I definitely didn't like that head-touch with Tom Burke's character 😕 (sorry. He seems to have a lot of fans.)

And I didn't like the opening and closing shots. Can't quite place why: the opening one seemed like I'd already watched it before, also a bit too long, and the closing felt not authentic somehow. I wish she was more muscular. She just seems fragile in the classic Furiosa outfit.

Last roll of 'complains' before I start with the excitement-inducing points:

The over-explaining in the trailer itself, the big words with the exact number of years and all (like they could've converted into days, like they do in universe) but alas I suppose that's in order to bring in a wider audience. I hope it succeeds, tho!

Is a prequel the story I wanna visit - no. I'd like a movie about the Four - rebuilding, reforming, growing (green and as people), I want Max back even as I know it isn't like him to stay, and finally I want Theron and Hardy side by side, even as I know they wouldn't haha.

All of that is so unlikely. And there are so many spectacular novel-length fics about that. Hell, one such universe has been materializing in my mind for the past year. I almost don't want a movie about what comes after.

Still, I'd prefer a movie about the after rather than the before, but that's what's happening.

But I'm a nobody. The Creator of this world has a story he'd like to share, and it is centered around one of the most incredible characters in recent history, I think we're lucky to be able to witness that.

Now, onto the real excitement!

Disclaimer: this is less coherent even than what came before it.

First of all, we're finally getting a Wasteland movie by Gorge Miller (edited by Margaret Sixel!!!)

I cannot stress this enough!

We're getting chases, and War Boys and shiny mutant-cars, and we're going to GasTown, people! To the Bullet Farm! Helloo, I'm so ready, so curious!

And we're going to the Green Place, y'all! I'm so excited about it. Like they had horses wtf? Mary Jo Bassa! Canon Vuvalini names! Traditions! Defense strategies, weapons, male Vuvalini maybe, crows, so much lore...

But I'm most excited about that Lady driver and the little girl. I'm soo ready for the stories of women in the Wasteland!

To sum up: I'm mostly hyped for the expansion of the world because I love it so much. Because we'd see another of Miller's visions.

And I trust the team behind it enough to know it won't be an unremarkable movie.

I know it won't be another Fury Road because there never will be.

I watched it way too late, and it's my dream to see it on the big screen, which wouldn't happen. So I'm grateful for a second chance to experience something like it. And I'm hoping the fandom will live again, because from my lurking I've found it to be as intricate and smart and fucking amazing as Fury Road itself is, and I'd like to be a part of it this time around :')

How I think all the Mondstadt and Liyue playable Genshin characters text + extra stuff about their phones (slight modern au)

A/N: So before I start, heyyy 😍 I know I’ve been gone for like ages but I’ve been trying to come up with ideas. Also wanted to say that I am INDEED alive so enjoy ❤️

Rosaria:

Okay let’s be fr she probably has great grammar without even trying

Definitely uses the little ‘ (I forgot what it’s called) she gets slightly annoyed when people don’t use it 😀

Only uses dots when she’s serious

Mostly a dry texter but when she’s drunk it gets a bit better

Kaeya:

We all know he’d never be a dry Texter

Uses „Lmao“ a LOT and I mean A LOT

Allergic to dots at the end of messages (will probably use them while texting Jean or other knights tho)

He‘d be a fun person to text

Uses „~“ at the end of flirty texts from time to time but you never know if he just uses it as a joke 💀

A very fast texter btw

Rarely misspells anything but if he does it’s BAD.

Never leaves you on read (if he likes you), he either sees the message or he doesn’t

Mona:

She definitely uses a lot of commas (how you’re supposed to)

If she texts you something it’s probably gonna be a whole paragraph

She will use dots at the end of sentences depending on her mood

I honestly don’t have much to say about her

She doesn’t text you that much

Daily good morning texts tho

I think she does voice mails most of the time

Her phone is turned off most of the time bc she’s on duty outside a lot (the monsters could hear her)

Tries texting in a cool and fischl way but if she ends up misspelling anything she’ll be embarrassed and blame oz for not correcting her (she can’t stay mad at him)

You will see a bunch of commas in her texts bc they are so dang long 😭

She has discord too. You can’t tell me otherwise

Her phone is on dark mode 🙏 one of the only phones that WON‘T burn your eyeballs

One of the main reasons she misspells stuff is because she has an eyepatch (does this even make sense 💀)

Pluto in Aquarius - 12H Transit

Reflecting on Friendships

The last time pluto was in aquarius was March 23 - June 11 2023 and during that time was when a friend of 8/9 years ghosted me in early March and I tried to mend things during that 3 month period and the last time we had a conversation was June 10 2023 lol (we did tell each other happy birthday and thank you in Sept and Nov after that but no actual conversation)

Then on Jan 29 I had a dream that I was in a groupchat with her and other people who I used to be friends with in college but my friendship with them didn’t make it past that so I guess they ended like 5 years ago? We would sometimes do group things but it quickly died down. They’re all still friends tho I think. Anyway so in this dream one girl sent a longgggggg ass message about all the things she hated about me 💀 (my dreams are always dramatic lmfao) and that girl who ghosted me was hearting the messages within seconds like she was right there when it was written!! Lmao message received!! I don’t think they actually hate me to this extent irl but I’m a Pisces rising so my dreams don’t lie 🤷🏾‍♀️

And this entire week I’ve been thinking about what I actually want out of friendships and that friendship wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t completely what I wanted in a friendship and I think I was holding on for longer than necessary bc nothing had happened between us so why end a friendship you know? And towards the end right before I was like “she ghosted me” I remember thinking why do I feel like I’m begging ? Lmao bc I would type a message and erase it like I felt she wouldn’t care about what I had to say. Which is weird bc I wasn’t saying anything out of the ordinary 😭 and I should’ve listened to that feeling more lol

I definitely want friendships with more care involved. I have a few friends I can have deep conversations with and who didn’t mind listening to me vent to them about what my narc mom was doing to me that week and I let them vent too. But like…while I was going through that no one asked me if I needed anything or if I needed help with anything it was just like yeah that sucks 😕 and that’s it. I was sick recently and one of my friends I told I was sick never responded to my message and then I go on IG two days later to see she’s on vacation with her bf and then she calls me when she gets back a week later and not once asked me if I was feeling better but immediately started talking about a situation with her bf 🙃 like okayyyyyy

But tbh the reason they don’t have any friends is bc I don’t think they were friends with those people to begin with they were just in proximity and they did not actually care about each other.

i've made several disparate posts abt this before, but here's all the facts i have on a yu-gi-oh related childhood mystery i'm trying to solve:

as a kid, around 2004/05, before we got our own computer, i used to use my cousin's computer and the computers at the local library to print off pictures of yu-gi-oh cards i found, and then tape them onto real yu-gi-oh cards 😅

mostly it was real cards that were too rare for me to get as a kid, but some of them were fanmade ones, either cards from the anime/manga that hadn't been made/released in english yet, or completely fanmade cards, unrelated to yu-gi-oh

the 4 i explicitly remembered before i started looking into this more were: an english version of masked beast des gardius called "masked beast death guardius," an english version of the mask of remnants called "mask of requiem," a card for holactie the creator of light (which hadn't even been released in japan at that point) with a name similar to it's japanese name ("horakthy") and most bizarrely, a card based on "harpy valentine" from the saint seiya series, that i had no idea abt as a kid and thought was just s/t to do with like. mai and her harpies 😅

i started looking into this a while ago when i remembered i used to call the mask of remnants "mask of requiem" and couldn't remember where i got the name from?? after trying to search for it i had absolutely No luck.. but i did land on the theory that it was probably a fanmade english version i found, from when i used to print cards off 🤔

realising that reminded me of the harpy valentine card, so i tried seeing if i had anymore luck looking into that avenue.. and altho i discovered where harpy valentine was actually from, i had no further luck there either 😔

so i gave up looking for a while.. until last night, i remembered holactie was another card i got from that site, and started looking into it again!! and miraculously, i actually found something!! i can't remember my exact search terms, but i somehow stumbled on a site where someone had reposted a fake card in a Very similar style to the ones i remembered, that mentioned "horakti"

but the smoking gun was the "2004 MILES THE FOX" at the bottom of the card, which set off alarm bells in my head 😳 so i googled "yugioh miles the fox 2004" and sure enough..

a bunch of fake cards in the same style i remember, including 1) the exact same "horakti" card i remember from when i was a kid + 2) a bunch of cards based on saint seiya characters, confirming i'd found the right person!!! 🥳

unfortunately, that's where the trail goes cold tho.. 🙁 as you can see in those search results, the only images of the cards that have survived are ones that were reposted elsewhere.. i've found the "horakti" on several other sites (my guess is it got reposted a lot more than the others in the mid 2000s bcos there wasn't an official holactie card til 2011) but whatever site the cards were originally posted on just seems to have Completely vanished.. i've even found other ppl looking for other cards this creator made too, with no luck either 😓

and apart from those few cards on that page of search results, the only other ones i've been able to find are some more saint seiya ones..

which i can see enough of to tell they were by the same creator but 1) like the others, they only appear bcos they were reposted on a (now defunct) blogging website + 2) unfortunately doesn't include the harpy valentine card i remember 🙁

so what next?? i'm not sure.. it feels like a huge breakthrough to have found the name of the creator of the cards, as well as a bunch of cards they made - i'm now Certain this is from who i also found the mask of requiem and masked beast death guardius 😧 but as i said, all other trace of their cards, and wherever they were originally posted just seems to have been obliterated from the internet, so i don't know where to look next.. 😕

Well, I guess, because I'm not that into the whole SW lore, that the no emotion rule were taken from buddhism aka the you can feel emotions, but you just let them go through you and let them go immediatelly. I don't remember 'how to deal with feelings' was ever explained in the movies? It was just like, feelings bad, don't have them, I think, but I'm not sure if I'm not murdering SW canon now xD

I feel like having emotions in the Jedi order was the biggest crime, while it should be dunno: shit, I had them, I acted beacause of them, did shit, damn, next time I will be better instead of FEELINGS BAD, SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! *kicks out of the order*

And the villains are even better than the side characters. Also, sometimes I think the side characters are much better than the main heroes, because how not developed they are aka they are not screwed by too much author's attention.

Yep. I didn;t have that problem, because like I read Gundam SEED fics and there were not that many, so i checked everything just to see if my ship was there xD On the other hand reading and searching Naruto fics was an... experience.
