Okay okay remember when I talked about binding a fic like two years ago? Well, I finally did!

It's The Fourth Wall series by @entanglednow - one of my all-time favourite piece of supernatural fanfiction out there

This beautiful craft I learned with the help of @renegadepublishing and their multitude of resources - if anyone is interested in bookbinding, I very much can recommend joining!

And lemme tell you how much fun that was! Generally, I enjoy making things with my own two hands (although I'm clumsy as hell - why anyone allowed me to use knives is beyond me) so this really was a good thing to stumble upon.

I mean sure, there is definitely a learning curve including some mistakes (like the page numbers - I'll definitely center them next time. Oh, or the endpapers. There's a reason that I'm not showing a picture of them).

But oh, how much fun I had with painting the bookcloth! Just poured watercolour on the linen and pushed the paint around with my fingers until it looked like that; the most fun at working with watercolor I had in years. And the sewing! I always liked sewing, and then combined with making a book? Sign me up

So yes, this is definitely a hobby I'll keep investing in

I wanted a new, simple, non computer oriented hobby to do in the middle of the night, and decided to take up wood carving, because I am an old man. I started on an elephant, which is now vaguely elephant shaped, and whose name is Lumpy.

I just used chisels but i got a dremel too. Good thing about elephants is they're easy to approximate. Everyone knows what they look like. They're one of the platonic solids. But I am enjoying this hobby a lot, even though I have invented new uncomfortable ways to sit.
