Some of my favorite easy and fast foods/snacks for $5 or less that aren't ramen and spaghetti:
Couscous. You can get boxed couscous for like $3 and it's enough for 2-3 side dishes at least and takes literally 5 minutes and no extra ingredients. You can get large containers of it for like $5 at Walmart too so you can season however you want. A nice grain that's easy to digest and pairs well with almost anything.
Popcorn. Everyone's favorite healthy junk food that can satisfy most cravings. You can usually get a box for like $4 or a jar of kernels for like $6.
Oats. Whole oats. Extremely versatile. Put them in smoothies, make cookies, granola, snack bars/balls, brownies, oatmeal, etc. Truly the best bland fiber and filler out there. You can even easily make your own oatmilk for super cheap by blending them with water and straining!
Frozen veggies. Last for months in the freezer and usually under $2 a bag. Not great if you prefer raw veggies, but if you are fond of sautéed or roasted ones, save some money and just get them frozen.
Chocolate chips. Cheaper than chocolate bars and you get a lot more chocolate. Perfect for those cravings!
Powdered potatoes. I know I know but if you ignore the package directions and put some butter and milk and seasonings in it, you can't tell. Ready in like 2 minutes and you get a shit ton of mashed potatoes for like $2.
Vegan Mac and cheese. I'm lactose intolerant and so I will forever be thankful for the vegan movement of the early 2010s for making nondairy products easier to find and more affordable. Vegan Mac and cheese literally tastes the exact same and bakes so well. Annie's so far has been my favorite brand and they have other pastas with sauces too like squash which is so good.
Crepes. You can make your own batter for cheap but who likes all them dishes? You can find pre-made crepes for like $3 for 10.
Apples. You can find 2lb bags of these for $3 at a lot of places. I never knew they were so cheap and I go through phases where I'll eat like 4 a day.
Lunch meat. Packs of turkey cost like $4. I use turkey on so much. Bagels, omelets, salads, sandwiches, wraps, croissants, etc.
Ready to bake pastries. I'm not a big bread person but croissants ready to bake have my whole heart and cinnamon rolls can really help make a bad day a little better.
Pretzels. I'm an absolute whore for Pretzels and eat so many of these things. They're so easy to pack for snacks for class or anything really. I can't go two weeks without them.
Rice crisps. Rice cakes are great but they're big and crumbly and get stale if you don't close the bag JUST right. But little Rice crisps??? Elite. They come in so many flavors and are super crunchy and they're just super cute too and they're bogo a lot at publix.
Frozen potstickers. You can get them for so cheap and I have a giant bag of them in my freezer right now that I got for like $7. I usually get smaller portions for $4 or so though but decided to splurge and get 3lbs of them cus why not.
Frozen shrimp. A bag of extra small Frozen shrimp is about $5 at Walmart. Eat them thawed and cold or put them in pastas or rice or Soups. They're a staple in my house.
These are just a few I could think of off the top of my head. Please add to the list!

Quick and easy Yogurt Parfaits are filled with layers of creamy vanilla yogurt, crunchy granola, and fresh berries. I like to use strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries for these tasty treats, but you can use any fresh fruit or pie filling.

The Auguste Family
Sage Beach Community - Willow Creek
Wellness coach and jewelry maker Esther Auguste is what people would probably call "crunchy." She eats granola for breakfast, wears exclusively hemp fabrics, and encourages her son Camron to live freely. The slow-living community at Sage has become a safe haven for her and her son over the years. As a single mom it hasn't always been easy, but she works hard to make living by the sea a healing experience for the both of them.

Do you have a go to snack? I'm struggling with snacks at work and want something easy i can throw in bag and have on my desk for whenever
Also idk if it's a thing where you are, but stanley cups are everywhere here at my office space and I KINDA WANT ONE but also i have like 3 reusable bottles already (a big lightweight one for most everyday use, a work one i leave in case i leave my every day one at home, and one in my car in case I forget my everyday one) I don't neeeeed another tumbler/bottle
Hope you're having a good day! (and you can finish your writing!)
Hmmm, I usually eat pain au chocolat or cookies for my snack time 💀 Not very healthy tbh, but have you tried granola bars? It's crunchy, and you have it with either fruits or nuts. It could be a good idea if you want to throw it in your bag, and it doesn't take a lot of space.
I've heard of stanley cup, but I had to Google it to find out exactly what it was 😂 and OMG that look genius! and pretty! You could get one for work. But that looks expensive imo? If you think you don't need it and you're fine with your 3 bottles, keep that money for something more useful, that's what I would do.
And thank you! I had a quiet day, but I'm struggling with the writer's block so RIP 😂😭 I hope you have a nice day too! ❤️

I have soft food ideas! Tw British foods, I'll do my best to think of the alternatives
Sweet:
Jelly/jello - just suck it through your teeth and swallow, amazing stuff. Can eat lots since most are low calorie or even zero sugar.
Angel delight/mousse/pudding, semolina, creme caramels, custards, rice pudding - no chewing required, light and bubbly.
Ice cream, gelatos and sorbet, ice lollies, milkshakes, slushies etc - amazing but might not be appropriate if you have sensitive mouth/teeth
Juices and smoothies - yummy but avoid citrus if you've recently had oral surgery!
Porridge/oatmeal, baked oats, overnight oats, chia seed pudding etc - the super fine versions (readybrek) of porridge are great and don't need any chewing at all. If too hot, wait too cool or add a splash of milk. I like a spoonful of Nutella in to make chocolatey.
Yogurt - amazing, cool and refreshing. Avoid the fun yogurts with extra bits like granola or crunchy inclusions since they'll need chewing. Also consider soft cheeses/no base cheesecakes
Soft fruits - again avoid citrus, try cook it or mash it or something just to make it softer. Tinned fruit is always super soft. Peaches and ice cream is such an elite combo. Maybe applesauce?
Savory
Soups, broths and maybe stews - super tender veggies, overcooked or super soft noodles and shredded meats will fine for a few days and should be soft but hearty enough. If not, puree or blend. Maybe soak some bread in!
Lentils - great at absorbing liquid and become nice and aoft
Mashed potatoes - love love love these, cheesy or garlicky or covered in gravy, just so wow. Might manage a baked potato without the skin and then it's just a vessel for good stuff
Rice, risotto - plain or topped with egg or some soft fish (tinned is easy). Risotto is great because you can add yummy stuff to it
FINELY ground meat - make a Bolognese and make sure your meat is ground finely. Make a curry with finely cut soft/pureed veggies. Make a chili. Once you feel a bit braver, sloppy Joes or something
Dips - guac or hummus or whatever, a spoon will do instead of veggies/chips etc
Cottage/shepherds/fisherman's pie - soft fish or meat in a sauce covered in mashed potato and baked in the oven. No teeth needed, but a hearty real meal.
Cauliflower cheese - parboil the cauliflower like my gran does (nuke it) and then cover in cheesesauce and bake it.
Omelettes - these might be touch and go but could satisfy you enough that you wont miss scrambled eggs and toast
Pastina - cute little pasta shapes! Do all sorts with it but jar of generic pasta sauce works in a pinch.
I'm sure there's plenty of local cuisine and regional foods that are soft too that I have no idea about.
For anyone who needs it then, lol. Thanks anon.

(Preface that abortion and human rights in general are not even close to what I'm talking about, fuck those guys, I have dreams about punching them and love every second)
I think that if you're prone to getting prickly, angry, reactive, etc about things people say Online/on social media that do not relate to human rights, welfare, wellbeing, or anything impacting actual things that hurt people or animals to a real life degree.
Then that is your problem, not mine, and I'm trying very hard to distance myself. And to unlearn.
It's easy and fun to mock hippy woo crunchy granola good energy kind of people, but of all the genuine, grounded, physically and mentally Here people, who enjoy being who they are and make a positive difference for others, who I've known......
I sure wouldn't list anyone who takes a very specifically Online justice mantle among them. Sometimes people are dicks or annoying and it's not worth your time.

7. Oatmeal dump cookies
Tumblr media
Hello, Every Birdie. Today we are going to be making some Oatmeal Drop Cookies. This recipe is honestly really simple and easy to follow. And it can be edited so that you can add other things. I added Strawberries, Chocolate Chips, and a little bit of leftover frosting, from the red velvet cake.
Tumblr media
The recipe that we are going to be using is the one that is on the container of Equate’s (Walmarts brand) of old-fashioned oatmeal. Yes, you could use quick oats. But it just doesn’t have the same taste.
Tumblr media
The recipe and the description will be down below.
The ingredients that you will need for this recipe are:
Butter or Margarine
Sugar
Brown Sugar
Eggs
Milk
Vanilla
Flour
Baking soda
Salt
Oats
Chocolate chips
Strawberries
After you get all of your ingredients together you are going to preheat your oven to 375℉.
Tumblr media
You are going to cream together your butter and your sugars. The recipe calls for 1 cup of each, brown and white sugar. But because I was using some of my cream cheese frosting that I made with the cake, I only added about ½ cup of each. Because I knew that the cookies would have been too sweet.
Tumblr media
After about 2 minutes of beating the butter and sugar mixture, you are going to add in your eggs, milk, and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, mix together your dry ingredients. This includes your flour, baking soda, and salt.
Combine this with the sugar mixture. Once it is almost all incorporated, you are going to add your other ingredients. Such as your chocolate chips and your strawberries.
Tumblr media
If you have made cookies before in the past, you know what cookie dough is supposed to look like. It is somewhere in between soft and hard. You want your cookie dough to be soft, not dropping off the spoon. You want it to be firm enough so it can be rounded by hand if needed.
Tumblr media
The first batch was on the soft/ drippy side. And I knew that these cookies weren’t going to be cookies. Rather they came out to be crunchy granola. Still edible and my siblings told me that they were good. They are the types of people who would tell me if the cookie or the food was inedible but in a nice way.
Tumblr media
Added a little bit more flour to the mixture, and bake it for the same amount of time. It didn’t come out like crunchy granola this time. It came out really well.
Tumblr media
I was so emotionally drained after I made these cookies. They tasted really good. One thing you have to teach yourself when you are baking is that it is a science. That not everything is going to work how you think it will work. Because there are going to be multiple different factors that you can not change.
Tumblr media
I hope that you liked this recipe. If you ever have a “fail” in baking that doesn’t mean that you are a failure. It means that you are in fact learning. Just have fun with it! The recipe will be in the description down below. Feel free to check it out. See you in the next recipe. Thank you.

Haruto: Toyama Division First Impressions
Asato Rikiya
One of the core concepts of Platonism is that the reason we can imagine a thing is that there is an abstract realm of forms, with the physical ones we can see being mere imitations of the true world beyond us. So, if you're eating a watermelon, what you don't realize is that somewhere out there in a metaphysical state is The Watermelon, the perfect one, with all the qualities for a good watermelon and then some. It's how we can conceptualize what an ideal object would be, since we're getting a glimpse of the realm of forms.
Anyway, that's neither here nor there. My point is, the whole concept of Platonic thought-forms is nonsense because who would think an expensive square melon you can't even eat is a good idea? I guess he's at least trying to make them edible, so there's somebody out there with some common sense.
Yano Ietsuna
So, the other reason Platonism is nonsense and neo-Platonism is on thin ice, Plato thought that art was bad because it was making an imitation of something that was already an imitation, so it's distracting us from understanding true reality. Like, effectively, even if you're trying to make the most perfect...Shiny Glass Bauble, I don't know, you would be creating a shiny glass bauble that's twice removed from the perfected form of The Shiny Glass Bauble. But how do you differentiate between the creation of an object, which has an artistry to it, and the creation of art for art's purpose? It's not like Shiny Glass Baubles grow on trees, you need a glassblower to make them, so artists still have a purpose.
...Oh, right, speaking of glassblowing, Ietsuna-san. Yeah, I guess he's okay. I went to Toyama once to see the Museum of Glass Art, I think one of his pieces was there? Honestly aesthetics isn't my focus area at all but I needed something to write about and I made the mistake of trying to stand out by doing something unusual medium-wise sooo-o.
Kensaku Morimoto
...Yeah, look, I don't like people in his line of work, sue me. It's too easy for people developing experimental cures to take advantage of and exploit desperate people.
Does that sound too personal? Because it is. Maybe it's selection bias but the guy just seems sketchy to me. Pretty sure his company was never involved with Solaris, they're too crunchy-granola for that, but still.
ECO BooN
Honestly, it's just nice having another team from a smaller city. All of these places like Yokohama and Kyoto and Tokyo and Nagoya, it's kind of overwhelming. Maybe it'll stop that goddamn fox from Akabane from constantly calling me Hayseed if we're not the only ones...probably not.
