Note: I’M SO SORRY I’M LATE LETS GOOOOOOO- also I’ve never broken a bone before so I’m sorry if I sound like a netflix tv show writer that’s trying to relate to teens here, but rest assured, I know how to break a bone.

It was only an accident.

Just a moment of clumsiness on your part but still, you had to make a trip to the hospital.

The sidewalk shouldn’t have been in the way, you thought.

You rolled your eyes, seeing the cast wrapped around your ankle.

Yeah, it’s the sidewalk’s fault for not having an even path.

It’s the sidewalk’s fault you fell and fracture your ankle so bad that you needed a cast.

You never told Minji. Just that you tripped and only went to the hospital because you wanted to make sure it wasn’t going to get worse.

Half of a truth but also half of a lie.

“Hey, it’s good you weren’t hurt but you really need to be careful!” Minji spoke through the phone. You could tell how worried she was just by her tone.

She only found out because of a video someone took of you falling.

You were glad the video did not show you in pain. Worrying Minji was the last thing you wanted.

In fact, it wasn’t even on the list of things you wanted to do.

“I’m okay! It really wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been.” You tried to reassure her.

“That is not the point! You are wearing bubble wrap next time you go out!” By Minji’s tone, she was still pretty concerned about you.

“Oh, sorry I have to go, I love you!” Minji then hung up the call, leaving you in silence as you sat on the couch, your leg propped up to the side.

You stared at her contact after she hung up. It wasn’t like you could avoid her for about six weeks and you knew you would eventually have to tell her what really happened.

Even if it meant wearing bubble wrap out in public.

You cheered up at the thought of having to walk around covered in bubble wrap because of your worried girlfriend.

You knew she wouldn’t be home until the next day due to her busy schedule, so you tried to make the most of it by watching the television and dozing off after so long from the growing boredom of just sitting around.

You have napped for about two hours before you were awoken by a knock on the front door. You sat up and gathered your crutches under your armpits as you stood to your feet- Or more accurately: One good foot and one broken foot.

Minji usually ordered food for you when she’d be away from home, despite the kitchen already being stocked. She stated that she liked being able to take care of you without being by your side every second of the day.

That’s what you assumed to be waiting behind the door. Dinner.

Instead, you were greeted by an excited Minji- whose grin slowly drooped into a worried frown when she saw you had crutches and a cast on your ankle.

“Surprise…” You spoke on instinct, though there was nothing to surprise her with.

In fact, she was the one surprising you by being home early. She even brought the food you originally thought about.

You agonized over what you said, squeezing your eyes shut.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Minji asked, carefully entering the house and helping you back to the couch regardless of if you already had gotten the hang of using your crutches or not.

You let out a sigh, knowing you’d have to be completely honest now.

“I didn’t want to worry you,” You answered truthfully, your eyes lingering elsewhere as you felt more and more nervous. “I thought if you knew while you were working, you would’ve had a hard time.”

“Oh, honey! You should’ve told me! I could’ve been there with you!” Minji placed her palm against your cheek, her thumb rubbing against it in side to side movements.

“I didn’t want you to get in trouble with your company.” You placed your hand over hers. Minji tilted her head as her eyes were fully focused on you.

“I’m here now. Anything I can get you? Or do for you?” She asked. She still had a worried expression on her face but she began to ease up, lovingly staring at you, listening to you, everything about you made her feel at ease after her long day at work. Even though were hurt, there was no where else she would rather be.

“Well, I do love your cuddles.” You boldly stated with a smirk playing on your lips. Minji let out a string of giggles, nodding.

“I can do that.” She helped you get into a cuddling position that would be easy on your ankle, her arms holding you tightly on the couch as your head was laid against her shoulder with your arms around her as well.

You two laid there for a while, forgetting about the dull pain on your ankle as she stroked your hair in a comfortable silence.

“By the way,” Minji spoke in a soothing tone that had always made you feel safe when you two would cuddle. You hummed, allowing her to continue.

“You’re still wearing bubble wrap next time.”

8th Member All Grown Up - DC Reaction

JiU/Minji

Seeing you everyday had become the norm and she never saw you more than just the little baby of the group. She helped raise you with the rest of your members and you were just this little kid to them. It wasn’t until she was watching you film one of your solo shots for the upcoming comeback. You had worn the matching clothes for Boca and you were really commanding of the camera. She was shocked to see such an aura escape you as you continued on with your part.

“When did she grow up?! She’s just a baby!”

SuA/Bora

Bora had spent most of her days making sure you were completely taken care of. Helping you with homework, cleaning your clothes and making sure you were well fed all the time while you were in school. You saw her as an older sister but sometimes you saw her as a mom and addressed her as such in a joking manner. It wasn’t until you were in the middle of filming a special solo video that she had seen how much you had grown up. You were singing in the small room, singing a love song causing Bora to see you as a much more mature and grown adult rather than the little kid she had raised.

“I used to make her dino nuggets and watch her only eat the heads off of them. What happened?”

Siyeon

She had helped raise you just like the other older girls had. Except she was much more fun than the older girls. She was the one you ran to when you wanted to have fun and the first person you ran to when you were having a bad day. She had trained with you cause you to have a stronger relationship with her and she cherished you just like a sister would. You were in the middle of recording a dance cover with Sooyeon that you barely noticed Siyeon walking in to check on you. She was shocked to see you dancing to Sunmi’s Tail without any kind of awkward emotion. She was happy that you were trying something new, but also a little nervous that you were growing up just a bit too fast.

“Maybe you should just go back to singing and dancing cute covers like before.... You’re still too young for something like this.”

Handong

She had always seen you as a child and especially when you had whined about your stuffed raccoon going missing for over four hours. She was always joking with you that you were a baby (even if you had outgrown her two years ago). You were busy filming your part for BEcause and only some of your members had been watching. Handong watched you carefully, amused with how well you had been holding up. Maintaining the exact feelings and facial expressions that were needed for the music video.

“She’s growing up so fast right now I’m kind of scared what she’ll do next.”

Yoohyeon

From the second you had debuted with them, you had been Yoohyeon’s favorite. She would dote on you and make sure you were always taken care of. She would game with you and pull all nighters with you when it came to your homework or to just pass a level in a game both of you had been playing together. She had always seen you as this little baby and would continue to dote on you until she saw you filming your concert stage which had doubled as your coming of age ceremony. Her eyes were wide when she saw your newly found stage presence, causing her to scream and look away.

“She’s just a baby! She can’t just do this!”

Dami/Yubin

She had silently taken care of you, allowing you to vent to her and be with her when you were feeling down or stressed. She had watched you grow up and made sure you were always well taken care of when the older girls were too tired from intense schedules. She was busy reading her book when she heard her members scream, causing her to look up. She watched you dance and sing effortlessly to Chungha’s Bicycle for tiktok. Her eyes never left while she watched, slowly realizing you weren’t the little baby anymore.

“She’s an adult now.... Why is she an adult?”

Gahyeon

You were both born in the same year, but you were born laer in the year rather than earlier. She would use this against you constantly to get her way, but she still loved taking care of you. (And tease you but Bora said she couldn’t do that without an apology). When you had voiced your opinion about wanting to be more adult like, she had fully backed you and was the sole reason for your little stage during your most recent concert. She smiled while watching you perform the more mature song, hearing her members screaming at your actions.

“I did that! I helped her not be a baby!”

P.S. I had this scheduled for a while not really sure why it didn’t post :c

"It’s okay, I can wait for you to finish." Minji sits on your bed, phone in hand, as she browses quietly, occasionally side-eyeing you before scrolling again. Eventually, her eyes grow tired, slowly closing until she falls asleep on your bed, her phone resting on her chest while soft breaths escape her lips.

It was a quiet afternoon. Minji had been given a few days off from work. The few days that she was given were spent inside your house, relaxing her body while also spending quality time with you.

Well, if "quality time" meant sitting on your bed while she watched you bury your head in books, then some would say that she was spending her days off efficiently.

Minji is known to be supportive. You’ve never seen someone this supportive except for your family, but lately, she’s been struggling to watch you give your undivided attention to the words printed on your book. It sounds childish, but she’s been aching for your attention. However, she can’t find herself disturbing you with your studies.

So when she wakes up, she yawns with a pout on her lips, rubbing her eyes cutely as the warm covers on top of her slide off when she sits up. She blinks multiple times and recognizes the stars twinkling out your window before she realizes that she has fallen asleep.

Glancing around her, she sees her phone perched on the nightstand. She moves to pick it up and sees that it wasn’t that deep in the night. That’s when she looks at your desk as her pout grows bigger when she sees you still studying, now with glasses resting on your nose while holding two sets of papers in your hands.

She knows you’ve been sitting there for a while because you only wear your glasses when your eyes start to hurt from all the strain. Carefully, she sits up to prepare dinner, cooking a meal that she found in your cupboards and approaching you an hour after she finishes.

You were focusing on the current chapter when you felt arms wrap around your neck. Warmth suddenly spread through your chest as you rested your cheek against the clothed arm that lay on your shoulders. You hummed in delight as you felt a peck on your head.

"Let’s eat dinner," she announces, feeling you sigh against her arm before she rests her chin on your head. For a moment, you close your eyes and let the silence linger. For the past few hours, you have been buried in your studies. This was the first time that you’ve laid back and closed your eyes, other than the time that you tucked your girlfriend in when you noticed that she had fallen asleep.

Immediately after that, however, you continued to study. You had a good reason to. Your finals were about to start soon, so you wanted to get a head start, knowing that if you didn’t, you were probably going to end up cramming and overwhelming yourself.

Unfortunately, your plans were interrupted when you realized that your girlfriend would be receiving a few days off from work. You wanted to postpone your studies to spend time with her but Minji has made it clear that you couldn’t and even threatened to leave if you did. Which earned an amused look from you.

You tilted your head and placed a kiss on her chin, snuggling her arm until both of you had to attend to the food your girlfriend cooked.

During that meal, Minji managed to catch up with you. Even if you both had late-night calls and texts, there were only so many things you could talk about on the phone. The smile on her face was heartwarming, almost bright enough to face off against the sun. Minji was happy that she could talk to someone outside of work for once.

However, when dinner was finished, Minji volunteered to do the dishes. You sighed and slowly walked back to your room, the desk seeming to call your name before you were once again back to studying.

Your girlfriend enters the room a few minutes later, a frown forming on her face when she sees you buried in your books again. A pout forms on her face, but she lets you continue, resting on the bed as she browses her phone. Hours go by as the pout on Minji’s face grows bigger with each minute that you spend on that desk. It’s only when the clock strikes midnight that she stands up and approaches you.

You were once again so absorbed in the topic that you were startled when you felt your chair being pulled backward, papers lifted off your hands, and weight suddenly appeared on your lap. You blink rapidly as you register Minji pouting at you, her arms wrapped around your neck as she situates herself on you.

Furrowed eyebrows and a confused look were plastered on your face, looking at Minji in search of some answers. You receive a kiss on the lips instead, before she tucks her head in the crook of your neck, half embarrassed and half seeking comfort. "Let’s go to bed. It’s already midnight, baby. Can you take a rest?" She says, making you realize just how long you’ve been so immersed in your studies that you missed out on your girlfriend.

Without words, you stand up, carrying the girl with you, and settle into bed. Minji gladly went under the covers, snuggling back into your chest when you laid down beside her. Your arms circled her waist, and Minji sighed in satisfaction.

After hours and hours of waiting and watching you study, she finally got to be with you. Even if she was physically in the room with you, nothing beats the warmth that you shared whenever you were in each other's arms.

She was practically melting in yours. Added to the fact that you pressed a kiss on the crown of her head, she had turned into mush. "I’m sorry," you whispered, but she was already shaking her head, squeezing your waist before you could continue.

"It’s alright. All that matters is that you’re here with me."
