Somehow, the moments that most scream "these mutant ninja turtles are also teenagers" for me aren't the ones where they're fooling around with sports equipment, tossing water balloons at each other, or just being a bunch of goofballs in general.

Nimona headcanons I wrote instead of sleeping

Sometimes the boys forget that Nimona isn’t human 

Like they’re used to the shifting into animals aspect of Nimona because she does it as often as she breathes

But sometimes she’ll do some really creepy shit like make her arms longer to reach something when she’s too lazy to get up

One time they shifted just their neck to be like an owl so they could turn their head 180 degrees instead of just turning around cause that was “too boring” 

Or he’ll mimic people’s voices without realizing it 

Sometimes he’ll tell a story and suddenly he’s using Bal’s voice 

The first time she did this Bal searched the whole house cause he was convinced that Todd has snuck in

Or she’ll grow an extra arm to hold more shit and they take a moment to realize “oh yeah we adopted a little weirdo” 

They get used to it after a while and the arguments surrounding it are always funny because both the boys will complain and say “I don’t sound like that” and they have to be told “No love you do you really do” 

You know those videos of babies reacting to their parents shaving their facial hair or putting on glasses 

That’s Nimona's reaction every single time the boys change their appearance even the smallest bit they cant shave or wear their reading glasses because if they do he freaks out 

Talking some “help me Nemesis I heard bosses voice but I can’t find him” while Bal was standing right in front of them 

It was the first time he shaved his face in years and he’s never doing it again 

Mostly cause Ambrosius kept telling him he looked like a teenager and it was freaking him out 

I feel like Bal and Ambrosius are those kinds of people who will tell people about the little injuries but neglect the big ones 

Like Bal mentioned that he thinks he sprained his ankle during the fight at the institute but he won’t mention that he’s pretty sure he got a concussion 

(BECAUSE THIS MAN HEAD-BUTTED TWO PEOPLE WHEN HE HAS A METAL ARM) 

(I’m bout to wrap this man in bubble wrap and give him a helmet because wtf) 

Ambrosius will complain the whole day about the fact that he has a paper cut

But will completely neglect to inform his doctors “Oh yeah I can’t move my left arm higher than my waist without pain and I can’t see that well out of my left eye or hear that well out of my left ear do you think that’ll be a problem?” 

It isn’t until Nimona makes an off handed comment about how this super weird that the laser did basically nothing to him that he told both of them

They literally dragged him to the ER because “Who thinks those symptoms are normal Nemesis what is wrong in that pretty little head of yours!!” 

When Bal tells Nimona she’s being a bit of a hypocrite (cause who refers to an arrow as a splinter?) she turns to him and says “I know you’re not saying something Mr. Human battering ram” 

It took literally everything in Ambrosius not to break down laughing

After that she forces them to have frequent checkups with the doctor because these dorks wouldn’t go otherwise

Honestly I'm fully convinced that some people in the kingdom don't know who Nimona is and are constantly confused why they let this little weirdo follow them around 

And finally the curiosity will eat away at them and they’ll finally ask 

Sometimes the boys will give some “normal” answers like “Oh that’s Nimona” and they won’t elaborate at all

Sometimes they’ll give funnier answers like “Oh that’s a raccoon we found in the garage who turned into a person one day” “I don’t know they just showed up in our living room” and their personal best “You see her too?” 

And their favorite that they only started using a couple of years down the line “Oh that’s our kid”

People are endlessly charming when you actually get to know and appreciate them. Like, people are just wandering about and they have favourite colours that make them so happy, and some people will specifically look for products or food or knickknacks in their favourite colour and so many people wear that colour and feel instantly more confident??? 😭😭😭

There are so many tiny details that I think when you learn to notice them, it makes each person so beautiful and charming and enchanting just because they exist

#cats #love the second picture... skrungly sleepy well rested boye face... #since he's an elderly boy now sometimes when he wakes up from a nap he looks a bit scruffy and squinty eyed #Hard to beleive he's like 15 though.. he still looks like a kitten to me.. due to his giant round creature eyes and childlike demeanor #I think it's interesting that like... baby cats are babies. kittens are kittens. and you can tell a cat is like 'young adult' phase #looking from like a few months to maybe 1yr or 2yrs.. but after that they just always look the same to me #a 5 yr old cat is a 10 yr old cat is a 15 year old cat. unless the cat in question is particulalry aged or youthful #I still have so so little energy... it's been icy here this week. like not even FUN but just scary icy even thoguh i lOOOVE the cold #and its my favorite weather. I genuinely don't mind stuff like having to go to the bathroom in buckets or cook over a fire or do other #less conveninet things. Its just that if eveyrhtng is electric then you have no way to cook and all of that. well.. and I literally need #background noise to go to sleep lest my ocd sprials become so loud I am slowly driven into maddness.. but a few battery packs or something #and a phone with one downloaded video I could play on repeat is fine for that. I dont need internet. ANYWAY.. so so sad that my fav #orite season ever (winter) is here. and the first cold of the winter is like... just an ice storm that you cant even walk in. I #love like 4 feet of snow where you can play in it and stuff. But just a thin flat sheet of a few inches of ice over every imaginable surfac #is not really playable. the wind speeds are so high and so many trees fall it's actually not that safe to go hang out outside anyway unless #you were in a totally clear open field. which is SAD also because i love ice and high winds. i love to stand out there and get whipped in t #he face with ice crystals and feel like I'm in some dramatic movie or something. but alas.. the threat of being attacked by a falling tree. #I did go out some but again it's like. literallyyou cant walk on it. so I just squatted and dragged myself along the ground lol #One of my stories has a whole section where the main characters are trapped in a deadly cold environment for a week and have to use magic #to survive and etc. etc. so I'm always like.. ouuu.. I should go in the ice.. it's Writing Research actually.. *foolishly gets frostbite* #THOUGH yesterday I went on a harrowing evil journey down a bunch of icy hilly roads to go check on some person's cat because the cat #had been left in the house for like 5 days at that point with nobody to check on them and nobody else seemed to want to do anything #about it (like call all of the neighbors or try to get someone out there) so I just went myself with a roommate who agreed to drive me. #It seemed acting totally normal and I gave it more food and water but.. I am still worried about it.. Apparently the person will be able #to get back to their house tomorrow but.. I dont trust them. But I couldnt take the cat with me because it's like.. a stranger's cat #basically and also no carrier + very skittish.. so I feared if I just tried to carry them bare handed they'd definitely leap from my grasp #and then it'd be like.. sliding on a sheet of ice chasing a cat and so on.. I still think they need to be watched for health issues tho >:| #ANYWAY.... many cat adventures lately... and strange weather... I wish for a normal week without always so many Things Happening.. augh

I don't think I'll ever run out of Nimona headcanons

So I feel like it’s kind of obvious that both Ambrosius and Bal had to play the part of the perfect obedient little soldier as they were growing up 

And I feel like they both had different ways of dealing with those expectations 

There are still moments when they have to hold their tongues and put on a smile

And Nimona has witnessed most of those moments 

One day she asked them both “How do y’all not bite someone’s head off or like burn a small village to the ground?”

And they decided to show her 

Bal very politely asked her to fly them to the top of the institute 

And he was like okay weird but I’m not gonna question it

His resolve is really tested when he hears Ambrosius ask if the surveillance cameras are turned off

And when Bal gets the slightest hint of a yes does he scream absolute bloody murder 

Sometimes it’s small phrases sometimes it's words but most of the time it’s just screaming 

But he doesn’t stop until he’s blue in the face and his voice is almost gone 

When he’s done Ambrosius ushers them all home 

Nimona doesn’t start asking him questions until Bal is relaxing in the room with a big cup of tea

And all Ambrosius says is “Eh it helps him so I don’t question it” 

And then he asks them to fly him to his families property

And he doesn’t tell them to stop until they get to this tiny dilapidated shack 

Nimona voices that they’re surprised his family would let such an eyesore exist 

To which Ambrosius makes an off comment while looking for something about it being too far out for them to notice 

And she was about to ask what he was looking for and until he pulls out a bat 

And a couple of his failed ceramic projects 

Before he could ask when they got here

Ambrosius was hitting it against one of the walls and then wordlessly offered the bat to Nimona

They didn’t go home until every plate vase and cup was absolutely obliterated 

When they did get home they found Bal sitting in the living room

All Nimona said was “Your man has anger issues and I like it!” 

To which Bal responds with an expression that says “You think I didn’t know?”

While the trio loves watching movies together they can’t finish a single show 

Nimona never waits for the boys and always goes ahead

And half the time when they watch it again all together she spoils it for the boys 

Bal often gets too caught up in the show and starts questioning everything 

And if Ambrosius doesn’t like the show he’ll stop paying attention and then ask a million questions 

All in all they drive each other crazy and decided just to watch the show separately and talk about it when they’re done 

For some reason this doesn’t qualify for trashy reality tv

No one gets bored and there are too many twists and turns for anyone to think about talking over the show

It's the two window kisses for me. It's the fact that when Alex and Henry kiss in front of the window in Paris, they're allowing themselves to see each other completely for the first time and when Alex and Henry kiss in Buckingham Palace in front of the crowds that have gathered in support for Henry - in support of them and their love - they're allowing the world (and Henry's family too!) to see them completely for the first time.
