i need people to understand that part of shinichiro's "charm" and appeal as a character, is that he isn't as good as people pointed him out to be. he's not the best person in the world. he isn't an "uwu" goody two shoes. he's pretty flawed and kinda selfish sometimes. he has good intentions ofc, but most of the time, they fall flat because of the outcome. and before people argue with me, lemme pull out some receipts

let's stop pretending he didn't do anything wrong. love shinichiro for who he is!! a huge fucking idiot who has no foresight. with a really big heart, that is slightly compromised. because he's probably a traumatized kid. not like he had to raise his younger siblings with no support or anything. his mom died and his dad was a fucking hoe, then he died without ever being present in his life. the guy had it rough which in turn made him a little rough. i don't understand how you can like a character by fabricating facts about them and denying the actual...facts. i hate some of the things that shin has done, but i still love him. i am a true shin fan because i accept that he's fucking great and an inspiration to so many people but he's also kinda awful a bit <33.

Yours was the first bottom Alastor fanfic I ever read and I was like woah, a whole new world… But I was wondering if you’re planning on ever writing Alastor indulging Vox and actually topping him? (He’d probably overheat and reboot at least twice during the ordeal)

Gonna be totally honest, probably not - and if I do, probably not the way you'd expect if you're a person who has specific top/bottom dynamics expectations!

Alastor's general progression in this fic series has been a slowly decreasing willingness to engage in more "lots of intimate body parts involved" sex acts because the more he tries them out, the more he realizes he could take or leave a lot of them. So I'm really unlikely to write him doing that unless it's with toys or something, purely because the way this fic series has progressed, he doesn't really have an interest in it!

To Vox's eternal regret, pfft. I'm kinda tempted to eventually take a hack at the subject, at least, regardless of how far along they get, and mesh that together with Alastor's extremely rudimentary understanding of what it means to be trans.

You know I don’t think that James’ reputation would be ruined at all. I feel like he’s a pretty low-key celebrity now, like people aren’t looking at him for a headline. In terms of older male celebrities in all fields tbh, they marry way younger women all the time and no one blinks. Some examples: Dennis Quaid married someone more than half his age younger, Richard Gere who was with Cindy Crawford is 73 and with a 40 year old. Even Brad Pitt who’s the same age as James I think anyway, is dating a 28 year old? Something like that anyway last time i checked. I could be totally wrong on that. B UT. He defo did like two years ago. I don’t like age gaps tbh, they feel very predatory no matter the ages of the parties involved- like I’m not into Chris evans but the man married a 26 year old when he’s 41 and … I mean… it’s ICKY. Like idk, I always feel like in some way the girl has the wool pulled over her eyes and it’s just plain depressing. i don’t think it’s the reputation for james i think it’s the principle. he’s already struggling with his own morality and they’re not even in a relationship yet.

the subject of age gap relationships is very tricky. having been in a lot myself (not good ones i admit) i understand the ridiculous power imbalances between both parties. age gaps are also something not many people are familiar with, so obviously their initial reaction will be one of slight disgust. i mean, the chris evans situation (even though i know nothing about that man) is what initiated the whole conversation between me and my friend. personally, i believe she's a grown woman and can make her own decisions. i don't see a problem with it but i also don't think that a 26 year old and a 41 year old have anything in common.

that's why i'm being like this with barefoot. i don't think james is the type of man to go for someone incredibly younger than him because, to a lot of men, it's just not appealing when their partner isn't relatable. james has lived a lot of life and heather has lived barely any. he's confused because besides physical attraction, why is he interested in her?

i'll try not to spoil, but in james' head, even during the relationship, there's some element of guilt and confusion because here is this incredibly vulnerable girl who is placing her absolute trust in him and he feels like he's taking advantage of that for his own pleasure. he doesn't understand his own motives. he also doesn't feel like he's worthy enough to be in a relationship long-term; he feels like she'll be held back by him if he keeps her around. and in all honesty, however painful it would be at the time, that's something heather will come to realise when she's older, away from her father and thriving.

james is a symbol of hope for heather. she's felt stuck in her life for so long with no one to help her out. she hasn't been independent from anyone her whole life and she just needs a leg up to finally get her freedom. it's inevitable that james won't stick around but she'll be grateful for the experience she had with him and she'll never forget the opportunity he granted her.

So fucking pissed at people who say that hyperspecific labels “make the queer community look bad” or “is just pure attention seeking”, NO MF I JUST LIKE HAVING A NAME FOR THINGS I FEEL.

Like, my situation with gender is so fucking complicated that having a person coin something such as “dazegender” was so good to me, and I still have a complicated relationship with gender !! I’m so glad for whoever coined the term “Omnisexual/romantic” because it would've been a living nightmare to do mental gymnastics to feel like I fitted pan or bi.

“But those are spectrums” do people treat them as such ? Do they really ? Plus it's just difficult to my head to grasp the concept of “spectrum” it either is or is not, that's how my brain works personally. (My brain needs to be able to name things, basically. And also to know exactly what to do, if we're talking about chores, per say).

In today's generation so many people (me included) just find it SO HARD to put their feelings into words that it is genuinely a blessing to have labels that can label what we feel so precisely (to us, at least), “but you're overcomplicating something that should be simple” feelings are so far from being simple, honestly, and what is simple to you may not be to me, and that's okay, just don't call me attention seeking or whatever.

Also, also !! Hyperspecific labels/flags just make me (at least) feel more validated, since it makes it clear to me that I'm not alone in the way I feel and it kinda validates me (in a good way) :] And it's the Queer Community after all, so I think it's past the time we start actually acting like that.

how and why is there discourse about whether or not certain queer identities exist/if people should be allowed(???) to use them. why is "people know their own identity better than you ever could, and they're the only one who get a say on what they are" such a tough concept to grasp

i think if you find yourself offended by the label someone uses (especially if they're a stranger) or think it invalidates your own, it's a good idea to look inside yourself and question why that may be. more often than not, it's a result of insecurity or uncertainty of your own identity (or many other things, but i won't make a whole list here). whatever reason it is, until you resolve it, you shouldn't take it out on people for having an identity you don't understand

many have said it before but it's worth saying over and over. infighting only helps our oppressors. conservatives don't care if you're a cis gay or a xenogender aegosexual aplatonic lesbian, they hate all of us either way. trying to fit in by going for people who are easier targets for them isn't gonna help you, it'll just alienate you from your own community, and you're never gonna please them. the momentary rush you get from hearing you're not like "one of /those/ gay people" is not worth it and is gonna do more harm in the long run, i assure you

also, it is important to me to say this, but having some less than nice kneejerk reaction caused by confusion about an identity you don't understand doesn't mean you're a bad person or anything. as long as you aren't mean to that person, and you take a second to think smth along the lines of "wait a minute, this isn't any of my business" after having said reaction, you're good 👍 a lot of reflexive reactions we have to things are ingrained into us simply by. well. living in a society 🤡 and you're not terrible for having those thoughts. it's your actions that matter, and your second thought (the "wait, why did i just think that?") is more defining of your actual character and morals than your reflex. i know that having thoughts like this, even tho they're unwanted, can very easily make one spiral, so it's important to me that whoever needs to hear this knows this doesn't make you a bad person 🙏 you're good, keep taking actions to be good, accept other people even if you don't understand them, and you're on the right track :)

Since we've calmed down after the last Splatfest, I can finally bitch about some Shiver fans' takes.

My God she did NOT try to "change the subject and try to make Frye comfortable".

Shiver SUCKS. She's greedy, she brags when she wins, she'll say anything she has to to get vote. That's WHY SHE'S FUN! Every member of Deep Cut Kinda Sucks. That is the point!

Big Man does get a little carried away and sometimes gets worked up (though he's still being nice) during the fests announcements. Frye barely even tries to make an argument (her job!) because she's too busy being silly.

None of them give a damn about the results. They're here to party and have fun. Sure, they like to win but they don't care if they lose. Almost every single time, the winner says something along the lines of "all three options are nice though" or "let's do all three!"

Shiver did exactly what she did for the Nessie vs Aliens vs Bigfoot festival: lie her ass off. This time, instead of lying about seeing Nessie, she pretended that her choice was better because she legit doesn't know how to do a fist bump. It's silly! It's endearing! She's a loser! Girlfailure! She doesn't care if it's embarrassing, she came clean because it's no big deal and she won! She won eight fucking times in a row, she gets to brag if she pleases.

It's fine for your fav to not be perfect. You don't need to go out of your way to mischaracterize an entire dialogue because you need to defend her from the "haters". And quite frankly, wouldn't it be worse if she was babying the other members (or singling Frye out) because they didn't win for months? Don't you think it would be condescending? Her lines were implied to be prewritten. None of them have a problem with what they have to say. They might even write them themselves for all we know!

Deep Cut are all good friends. That's why they don't give a single flying into space fuck about who wins, the things said to win, or the things said after they won.

And, finally, ofc it also goes for Frye and Big Man fans. Neither care if they lose. Frye doesn't even try (ie: she had less than 10% of the bite for Team Fame and had no reaction, especially when she could have made great arguments for it since it logically beat the other two teams (sorry for breaking Splatfest law guys, it needed to be said)), Big Man is just happy to be there (though he probably really wanted Love to win... But alas capitalism triumphs all). I'd LOVE it if Nintendo finally wrote them some spicy dialogue instead of the bland and boring "eh gg" we've been getting for over a year. I'd LOVE the acknowledgement that Frye is incredibly unpopular and has gotten brutal loses. They did it in Splat1 and 2. I want my girl to go on a rampage or for Big Man to impose himself. But it's not that big of a deal. We ain't getting angst. Deep Cut is too busy sharing their one braincell to decide what meal they're gonna have to care.

Errr okay I'm embarrassed to say I had to do some quick research on what happened to the real Julian and well...let's just say I didn't find great news. Some of it was completely cringey and awful. However, there are two sides to a story and all that, so I'm willing to extend some benefit of the doubt. Dude has been through a lot of craziness, so I honestly can't imagine what that sort of confinement and stress does to a person.

However, I still want to gush and obsess over my TFE Assangiebatch. I just find him so incredibly enchanting (that accent, that hair, those adorable goofy smirks, that confidence, that cockiness, his elusive mystery, gaaaahhhhh 😭) and the movie is baller. But I may have to further disassociate him from his real-life muse and put him into another AU. But if I was to take it realistically, then insaneduo are the best candidates. It may be, as other people are saying, a cultural divergence where we just don't believe in such idealistic movements as a "council" or a "let's everyone take the decisions together" sort of thing, but honestly if it were, like, real life politics and some candidates proposed such thing I'd just laugh and roll my eyes at it.
