ever wondered how would your love story be with your future spouse? and what movie would it be similar to? I will be honest as someone who romanticizes love this question as kept me awake on many nights and has made me daydream a lot. SO as a result I have decided to make a pac on this topic. I hope you enjoy this reading and support my blog so that I can come up with more interesting pick a cards.

Okay so as soon as i started this reading i got the message that most people who chose this picture may not have had an actual relationship in a sense that you might have felt as if something was always lacking or you may not have been treated right in a relationship. And i do see that you have a unexplainable fear that maybe the person you will fall in love with wont fall for you? or you may doubt their affection for you as you seem to have severe trust issues. You may be the kind of person who doubts love but is also dreaming about it. you may show as if you don't believe in love or that money matters more for you but you know deep down that is not true.

I also sense that this group is divided into two subgroups as this group seem to have two similar yet different love stories.

group one : you guys may be a Virgo, cancer or Sagittarius sun moon or rising. You guys can have medium to short curly hair. you may have a mole on your arm or right shoulder. You may have a small friend group consisting 3-4 people including you. one of your friends can be of different race or religion. Some of you may be in high school or 1st-2nd year of collage. Pumpkin and grapes may be significant for you.

your love story : There may be a sense of "saving the other" in your love story. you know how a person is suffering and the other person comes into their life and saves them that is the vibe that I am getting from your love story. Your future spouse may enter you life when you will be dire need of help or when you will be suffering or vice versa. You may be the damsel in distress, but i see that You wont ask your future spouse for help intentionally. You are someone who wont ask for help no matter how much they are suffering and your future spouse is someone who WANTS to help other no matter what but they have been used by a lot of people because of this. They are well aware of the fact that people only approach them because of their personal benefit and this makes them quite upset. But but but i also sense that they would want to help not financially but emotionally. They would want to help you with everything they can and this may be the one of the majors reasons why you will fall for them. They will help you find purpose in your life again. They will make you fall in love with life.

SO the movie that resembles your love story is EK VILLAIN. This is an Indian movie and I would suggest you to watch it. i wont spoil it for you if you have not watched it yet, but leave out the parts that don't resonate with you.

Group two : You guys can be a Taurus, Leo or Aries sun moon or rising. you may have a mole of your back or on one side of your neck. You guys may have long dark hair or dark brown hair that reaches past your armpits. You may have a fear of lizards or any kind of reptile. i sense that some of you may be studying business or you plan to start you own soon? You may have gold jewellery that you wear regularly.

Your love story : As I said earlier both these groups will have a similar yet different love story and the sense of "saving the other" is also present in this group but the only difference is that you will be the one who will save your future spouse/partner. They may be really popular or into music because i see that they have a good singing voice. You guys can also work in the same field or profession. I see that you guys will encourage them to give their best when they may feel low or when they may doubt themselves. I see that you will be their biggest supporter and this will make them fall deeper for you. They will admire how passionate you are about what you do. If you are in a creative field, they may use you as their muse. I also sense that they will be writing songs and poems for you because they seem to have a talent for writing. You guys will work together and earn a lot of money and fame.

This is the group of misunderstood people lol. I see that people always try to find flaws in you or blame you for the things that have nothing to do with you. But i also sense that you someone who jumps into conclusions and overthinks their situation. Things may not be as they appear. You are someone who has lost a lot of people that were close to you and you don't want to go through the same pain again, so as a result you have put a wall between you and other. And now you don't care if people misunderstand you or spread rumours about you. I am getting friends to strangers to friends to lovers. Its really complex and complicated. But yes it seems as if somebody else was involved in your love story and no I am not talking about third party situation. its more of a "yes I like this person and I am talking to them" from their side and "you are my friend and I like you but wont tell you because you like somebody else so I wont tell you" OR "yes I like you but wont tell you because I don't want to ruin our friendship" from your side. But I sense that they will realise their feelings a lot later and when you wont be talking to them. I also sense that you may move away from them to forget them or you may even move to another country for job or education.

But we all know how the universe works in strange ways that you may have never considered. So you will end up meeting them again but in a different way as compared to before. And they will be the one to express their love for you and will do everything to win your heart.

So the movie that resembles your love story is KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI and a little bit of DDLJ. Both these movies have the same acter and actress. But the plot is not same its similar with slightly different storyline.

Are you sure you are interested in this love reading? because your energy is telling me otherwise. They will support you in you work and offer new ideas. Some of you are really intuitive so you will know who person may be or will be. Your future partner will admire the way you handle tough situations and problems thrown your way with ease. You are someone with hard exterior and really soft interior and this will intrigue your future partner as it is really hard to find genuine people with good intentions these days.

your first ever lecture being anthropology, out of all options, was pretty much chaotic and a really humbling experience

you kind of felt lost?? with the lecturer throwing in some of his own antics, with a little too much of little pop culture doses

i mean, he was trying??? talking about batman all of a sudden, comparing a pretty much real theory to his logo or something

(not that you didn’t mention that during that really crazy one on one oral exam… BUT STILL?)

now that’s how you got to know mark lee

i mean, not during the exam, waaaay before that – the first lecture, being just as confused as you, he was.. probably trying to look for someone who was taking notes (preferably good ones at that)

and that’s when your eyes met his!

i guess the panic was so evident in the look you gave him, he just.. couldn’t help but laugh loud asf at your CONFUSED face

i mean, if it was the other way round, you would’ve laughed as well, what can i say..

but still, you had to whisper shout at him (which was weird in the middle of the lecture, being literal meter away from each other) ?? telling him to stop the shenanigans or else you’ll throw hANDS!!!????

Something that I just need to get off my chest, and tbh I'm curious what you and your followers think about this topic: I'm Jewish and for shorthand purposes, a Zionist, but out of fairness and intellectual honesty I do try to read opinions/articles coming from an anti-Zionist perspective. I specifically look for ones that aren't explicitly antisemitic (which narrows it down substantially) and acknowledge the valid claims of both peoples (narrowing it down even further.) In several of these more balanced articles, I've seen extensive analysis of "Jewish fear" and how the politics of fear impact the situation. At first I was trying to take this perspective in, because I have seen fear (even legitimate fear) be weaponized. On the other hand, though, the longer I think about it, the more I really don't like how most of them approached that discussion. It comes across very "get over yourselves" and "get past the past," and I just find that extremely frustrating. Because the thing is this: it's not paranoia, or post-trauma, or even particularly remote in time. It's a completely rational fear when one looks at the last 2500 years of history and stacks that up against what Palestinian leadership's stated goals are re: removing Jews from the land. And there's never any real concrete plan for how to keep Jews safe from another genocide (or multiple) if we don't have self-determination somewhere, ideally somewhere we have a valid historical claim to. It just gives me strong "go back to your husband and save your marriage; I'm sure he'll change" energy. Why should we believe that it'll be different. The bones of Babi Yar weigh that scale down pretty far and so far there's naught but a feather on the other side. Hopes, wishes, thoughts & prayers, etc. Anyway it really rubs me the wrong way.

It's not remote at all.

Less than 90 years ago, major cities from Vienna to Warsaw to Alexandria to Baghdad were all 25% Jewish. To put that in context, New York City today is about 18% Jewish. 100,000 Iranian Jews were forced to flee for their lives from an "antizionist-not-antisemitic" regime in 1979, the same year Alien came out. Poland banished its pathetic surviving remnant of Jews in 1968 as collective racial revenge for defeating the Soviet bloc's Arab client states; that was 8 years after Ruby Bridges climbed those school steps.

What is ancient history? What doesn't matter anymore?

You are right to see it as a "go back to your husband" vibe. Whenever I have told social-justice leftists about the unreliability of America, about the Jewish need for a state that is guaranteed to defend us if America goes the same way all prior diaspora countries did, several of them have told me that American Jews must stay and fight for their country and force it to be safe for them. I can't help but notice that they say no such thing about Mexicans or Syrians, for whom fleeing to a safer country is seen as an unquestionable right - no matter how much racism that safer country may have anyway.

Lettering sound effects in Shiori Experience

Hi! I’m Toast, the letterer on #dropout’s English translation of Shiori Experience. This series was my first time doing typesetting, and I’ve learned a lot over the two years I’ve been involved in the project. Each new chapter brings new challenges, and as our team has matured we’ve gotten more ambitious. We recently began translating the comic’s sound effects along with the dialogue, a decision which instantly doubled the size of our workload.

Our most recent release, Chapter 64, was probably the most technically complex chapter we’ve done so far. The sound effects in this chapter were varied and complicated, presenting a number of interesting challenges. Today I thought it would be fun to give y’all a peek behind the curtain, and show the thought process and effort that goes into the adaptation of sound effects in Shiori Experience.

Shiori Experience is a music manga [citation needed], so it isn’t surprising that the sound effects can get pretty complicated. Music manga need to convey not just the sound, but more importantly the impact of a performance, conveying an auditory experience in a totally silent medium. Shiori Experience’s approach to this problem is to make the sound effects semi-diegetic objects. They hang in the air, burst out of crowds, get obscured by foreground objects, and cast shadows on their environment. This is a really cool effect, but also makes converting them from Japanese to English a fucking nightmare.

Shiori Experience is kind of a nightmare

In some ways, lettering for Shiori Experience isn’t actually that difficult. Sound effects in this series are goddamn everywhere and they’re fucking gigantic, but they’re always straightforward. Much like the art of the series, the sound effects are clean and angular, strong dynamic shapes which are easy to parse even if you can’t read the katakana. For a great example of this, look at this sequence from Chapter 64.

This sequence demonstrates what you can achieve with good lettering. The sound of the band is conveyed perfectly with these visuals. The clear and regular beat of the drums, the dark and energetic bass line, the screaming uncontrollable energy of the electric guitar. We didn’t even bother translating it. We didn’t need to.

But look at the sequence again. In spite of its apparent complexity, there’s only two fonts here, a dynamic block text and an angular brush. Those two fonts represent the vast majority of SFX in Shiori Experience. The rest is just text effects and perspective tricks.

So to convert these sound effects into English, we just have to find equivalent fonts. It took me a while to pin down a set of fonts I was happy with. For the pointy brush font I eventually settled on Jolly Lodger, a brush font with a sort of piratey vibe. I’m still not 100% satisfied with this conversion, it isn’t as pointy as the original, but it’s good enough for now.

And for the big block font I chose Boogaloo. It looks a little thin when it’s on its own like this, but it really bulks up with the right text effects.

Great! We’ve got our fonts! Doing the sound effects should be as simple as erasing the old text and replacing it with the new text, right? Wrong. The nightmare begins.

Different approaches

There are several schools of thought when it comes to lettering manga SFX. One is the "keikkaku means plan" approach. In a translator's note outside the panel, or in plain text near the SFX, describe what the sound is. This is incredibly easy. This is also lame.

(This is from the official release of Dungeon Meshi. I wouldn’t want to redraw this one either, but like, come on guys.)

Another school of thought is style matching. Similar to the translator’s note approach, but rather than plain text, the translation uses similar text effects to the original SFX. This works fine, but it can create a lot of visual clutter if implemented poorly.

The last approach is full replacement. In this approach, the original SFX is (are you ready for this?) fully replaced by the new SFX.

SFX Redrawing

Replacing a sound effect isn’t as simple as just erasing it. We work with tankoban pages, scans of the Japanese volume release. These files are flattened, with the art and text all on one layer as a single image. We can’t just disable the text. In order to remove the original SFX, we have to redraw them.

Redrawing means recreating the art hidden by the original SFX. This is a complex process, requiring a steady hand, sharp eyes, and a lot of guesswork. Since we don’t know what precisely is underneath the original SFX, we have to use context to reconstruct it. The goal of any localization is to make the translation invisible to the reader. The same principle holds true in redrawing. The art we add needs to be invisible, meshing seamlessly with the original artwork.

#Dropout uses a mix of style matching and full replacement, with the choice between the two being determined by a number of factors. To illustrate that decision-making process, let’s break down the process of redrawing a page of Shiori Experience, specifically the spread across pages 172 and 173 from Chapter 64.

Deciding between Style Match and Full Replacement

This is the original untranslated page, and there’s a lot going on.

In the background of the first panel is the sound of the band, バアアアン, phonetically translated as "BA-A-A-A-N", localized as “BWAAAM”. In the foreground is the cheering of the crowd, ボオワアアア, "BO-O-WA-A-A-A" phonetically, “ROOAAR” localized. Lastly, along the side of panels 3 through 6 is applause, パチ, "PA-CHI", “CLAP”.

At a glance, this page is overwhelming. The cheering sound effect is huge, with custom text effects conveying the energy of the crowd. Worse is the clapping, which overlays multiple panels with dozens of unique partially obscured faces. This looks like a pain in the ass to redraw, but in the end I decided to do a full replacement instead of a simpler style match. With the number and size of the SFX combined with the visual density of the panels, doing a style match would result in a cluttered unreadable mess. Too much of the original artwork would be covered, and there just isn’t enough space. So, full replacement.

The redrawing process

As I’ve gained more experience, it’s been surprising to learn what constitutes a difficult redraw. You’d expect crowd shots to be the hardest, with lots of unique faces and little details, but they actually aren’t that bad IMO. More detail means more context means less guessing. Definitely a lot of work, but not difficult. Meanwhile, something like a gradient or screentone pattern which looks simple is actually a goddamn nightmare to recreate, as we'll see later.

That’s why I started my redraw for this page with the clapping. Again, this looks like it would be really hard, but looks can be deceiving. There’s a lot of clapping, yes, but the text is thin and spaced out. Whiting out the text reveals just how little artwork is actually hidden by the sound effects.

After whiting out the original text, the next step is connecting as many existing lines as I can. I do the panel and bubble borders on a separate layer since they’re simple structural elements. The artwork itself requires a bit more thought. I need to examine the original artwork carefully to avoid connecting lines that shouldn’t be connected. Context can also provide guidance where there are no lines to connect, such as the cheering guy’s hat in the first panel, or the clapping hand in the second panel. Also, when there’s lots of little SFX like this it’s easy to miss a few lines, like the box thing near the bottom of the last panel (don’t worry I catch it later).

The last step is adding in all the inking and screentones, the pattern templates which fill in the “color” to the line work. I have to go through with the clone stamp tool, collect samples from the image, and extend the pattern to fill the blank areas. This is the most annoying step in the process for me, because it requires a level of precision even beyond what’s required for the line work. Humans are pattern-recognition machines. Our brains are really good at catching tiny discrepancies, like when a section of a pattern doesn’t quite line up with the rest of it. My patch job on this panel wasn’t perfect, and you can see where I couldn’t quite line things up in areas like the guy’s checkered shirt in the first panel.

And with that, this redraw is complete! Now it’s time to insert the English translation of the sound effect.

SFX Lettering

The clapping SFX is in that same brush font I pointed out earlier, which we use JollyLodger for. There’s no real perspective things or text effects here, so mimicking the original isn’t difficult. Here’s the before and after.

This approach of fully redrawing the old SFX before inserting the new SFX only works in situations like this, where the text is small and there’s enough detail to reconstruct the image with a high level of confidence. As an SFX gets larger, like the roar of a crowd, the harder it gets to fully replace. This calls for a different approach.

Because of the size and complexity of this sound effect, I decided to do the lettering first. This is the block font I identified earlier, which is replaced by Boogaloo. I do some basic manipulation right away, applying a black outline and distorting the text to create the same perspective effect as the original. The SFX in this series are subtly three-dimensional, and the replacement text needs to be in the same orientation to sell the effect.

I’m also being careful with my placement here, doing my best to align the new text with the old. This will be important later.

Next we need to recreate the distortion effect. Photoshop has functionality to mimic this kind of effect, but I opted to do it manually. Osada (the mangaka) does all these layouts, SFX and all, on paper. The original effect was hand drawn, so the replacement effect is hand drawn.

The lettering for this effect is now complete, and we can begin the redraw process. Since we already have the letters in place, we have the advantage of knowing exactly where a redraw is needed, turning what would otherwise have been an enormous replacement into a minor patch job. From here, it’s the same process as the clapping SFX: Raw, Blank, Line, Fill.

Minor sidebar: translating Japanese sound effects presents an interesting and incredibly niche problem. The katakana symbol オ is translated phonetically as “o”. The problem with that is that when you’re replacing a オ with an O in a sound effect, the hole of the O is positions right on the center of the オ. This makes オ really annoying to redraw. Every O turns into a little window of totally new art, with barely any reference points to draw from. It violates the principle of invisibility, but there’s really no way around it. You can see I got a little lazy here, and clonestamped a different section of the crowd into the hole. As long as I don’t draw attention to it nobody will notice. I hope.

Closing thoughts

So that’s what it takes to do the sound effects for one page of Shiori Experience. This page alone took me multiple days to complete, and it wasn’t even the most complicated page in this chapter. It isn’t why our releases take so long (that can be laid at the feet of staffing and scheduling issues), but hopefully I’ve given you a sense of how much work goes into each new chapter.

This chapter would have taken even longer without the help of Adi and Bangistus, who pitched in on a lot of the smaller SFX. Up until now the lettering of this series has been a solo show, Toast all the way down. Now that Adi and Bang are on the team I’m still keeping most of the big pages for myself, but being able to toss to the others when I get overwhelmed is going to be invaluable. Hopefully I can rely on them in the future as well, there’s some big things coming down the pipe

This series is a labor of love. Sometimes frustrating, often exhausting, but always worth it. I owe this series a lot, and I hope it shows in the work I put into it. I think it would be fun to do more behind the scenes process content like this, so maybe keep an eye out for that in the future.

Lastly, just as a status update, #dropout is not dropping Shiori Experience. We have a temporary translator who’s helping us put together Chapter 65, which will be coming out Eventually™. Not as long as last time, but like always don’t hold your breath. We’re not sure what will happen after 65 drops. We’re still desperately hiring for a main translator, seriously if you know anybody please hit me up.

thinking about how in bmc we get this like 2pg as this ode to a relationship towards the start of the show, rather than later when after a couple breakup songs at different points the relationship is resolving (which of course gets to be a 2pg reprise)....where this premise is jeremy beginning the story in the midst of this building crisis about his entire life past present future where he's seeing no options for a way out of this (so, can't get much worse for him) in part thanks to how he's not finding help or even a lack of inadvertent or entirely advertent hurt from others....except his one bestie, But Also, that relationship already being in this 2pg-worthy place too isn't about how it could & must be enough to "fix" jeremy's entire life feeling consumed by this crisis here, like this relationship has to do That & be Everything else for good measure. but the relationship Does provide jeremy with Support & Motivation, which he needs to go pursue what seems like this one option for things to change & work out for him, b/c he can't wait for college, & even if of course getting a squip is a bad idea like, well that's his Journey & thee story happening, & jeremy's sure still trying & driving the plot along going after a goal here, important stuff & positive from that perspective

thinking of how seems like jeremy's reaction to michael's entire introduction in more than survive can be / was played in different ways in that moment, jeremy could be Largely [clearly relieved & cheered up but still also clearly going tf through it] or more like, jeremy's relief mostly being that he's more relaxed than actively distressed / on edge in other interactions including that of trying to navigate a space with other people, and he's more clearly wearied still than particularly cheered up, emphasizing as well how michael's vibing through lunchtime & these next couple years of high school is a bit more self-contained, i.e. happening while jeremy lags behind out of sync & having a crisis, girl you look grim....and again it's like, how michael isn't Solving jeremy's whole life. & this isn't really Against him at all. b/c the squip isn't gonna do that & also none of the people around him are supposed to be doing that as this pseudo squip replacement & just Be That Key to everything that he "needs" (he doesn't) as is emphasized in vimh where any given person's input, well-meaning & indeed helpful & valuable as it can be, isn't something jeremy has to potentially approach like "huh, are they completely right b/c my own feelings & goals & thoughts are in turn apparently so completely wrong that i've only brought myself to the depths of despair & see no way out...?" as he did with the squip, and there's so much less pressure about things because he realizes he Does have his own feelings & goals & thoughts to turn to after all, he wasn't [existing inherently wrong], & a major part of thee despair of it all was that dissonance between just trying to exist as a person and all the unending continual punishment of that....all related to how vimh also gets to end triumphantly with jeremy fine and happy and Alone

thinking of of course disagreeing with some analysis of bmc as saying, b/c jeremy & christine do kiss & plan a date, that jeremy Needed to abstractly Get The Girl(tm) to be happy. disagreeing b/c (a) jeremy was also on his own when the climax reaches its climax & he rejects & defeats the squip's last stage of its boss fight by being like actually no my liking christine & wanting her to like me wasn't about just Obtaining her*, and it's after this point that jeremy's Already in vimh mode. the scene starts & he's back & things sure only get better for him as the scene progresses but he's already good to go, he's already in a place where whatever happens he feels he can handle it, even if anything's miserable that's not all there is, not now & sure not forever. & (b) *jeremy liking christine & wanting her to like him (& christine also indeed liking jeremy) as an arc before the ending was about the mutual Motivation & Support they find in each other, just like made michael's relationship crucial for jeremy as well. b/c any given person isn't gonna know how or be able to Resolve someone's whole lifechanging character arc here lmao but at the same time they have these key roles in it & obviously a positive impact....the way "well this person can't / shouldn't be Everything" doesn't then mean "so any given person should be Nothing" such that like getting support from others / having interactions where emotions are relevant / etc is some kind of failure or Wrong. two sides of the same accursed coin

and (c) in case we were confused, in vimh before interacting with christine at all jeremy was already thinking christine probably hates him, and obviously isn't happy about that, but Is Still Already Fine. no he didn't Need to "get the girl" to already be vimh mode out here, bmc actually says

and how i then also would similarly disagree with like "all jeremy needed all along was michael as the better/best romantic option here" not b/c i think there's some correct [who Must / Should date] combinations or anything, absolutely jeremy & michael could date & that could be a positive significant thing....you could also write a whole other version of thee narrative here where things lead to that instead (although? it wouldn't have to change much, obviously.**)....but just that, again, it Wasn't all jeremy needed. and the story as is doesn't say that Christine was/is all jeremy needed or needs. the support & motivation people are finding in their relationships out here....thee discovery, flexibility, conditions for growth lol, Possibility: which is especially what jeremy finds in his going like "i want to date And i want to be" re: christine as someone he sees being so spontaneous / weird / Herself in a way that looks more bold & [thriving] to him than christine even feels or sees in herself. though then she sees it in him lol, and we're off....vs. that jeremy's also struggling with the lack of flexibility/possibility he feels with his relationship with michael, b/c their thing is great & helpful but he still can't wait for college....jeremy & michael also get to have an arc to their relationship for the fact that b/c it's meaningless to be "perfect," they're navigating that their relationship Does have this flexibility & possibility: jeremy thinking it can only be as it is, as good or bad as that might be, like how he feels about the course of his whole life, is what the squip leverages about "cut [michael] off or you both drown" to set off the Loser Geek Whatever scene....jeremy leaving behind Michael & Everything Else That Might've Been Good about his sense of his relationship with like, whatever in his life, including of course his whole relationship with Himself, because his relationship with christine is the one that at least looks like Possibility to him, and he feels like he's choosing Possibility by embracing the squip. and then jeremy & michael get to have some fights and resolutions along with 2pg reprise there lol, including even that someone with an adult's perspective had to be the one introducing that Possibility to michael in turn, that it doesn't have to be (conclusion foregone: can't be) over, and that for this to be true it has to be about prioritizing trying to reconnect with this person in another stage of his crisis but now more isolated really, rather than putting the hurt feelings front & center right now, if & when you love somebody....** what was i about to say here? i don't know, but i'll just like. i dunno say how yeah jeremy of course doesn't Just Need to "get the Anyone," not true re: christine, not true as-is re: michael either b/c yeah their relationship arc is about finding that ability for their relationship to change & evolve along with them as individuals / their lives, rather than it needing to be static & contained to be the bedrock of their [holding on for dear life till high school ends]. and idk even if you rewrote things or just interpreted the story to be "michael was perfect for him all along" like yeah bmc isn't trying to be about finding the one perfect person to possibly not only resolve your entire emotional arc that's also about your relationship with yourself & your whole life, but might even preclude it, like no, we're just dating now so it's all fine or all simply irrelevant now

well anyways yeah the key relationship is that of jeremy with Himself, such that like a character and a lot of the plot & conflict is taking place within his own head, & we not coincidentally start And end the show with jeremy alone onstage. but his experiences & interactions & relationships with other people is of course entirely relevant to his relationship with himself. and nobody has to be already & forever Perfect for preventing jeremy from having any problems, both in the way of "that's possible & reasonable to expect from anyone" and "it's possible & reasonable to expect jeremy to accept that actually the correct Only Way Forward/Out Of This is assessing the correct person as the necessary soulmate," so that's not the relationship he has with christine, nor michael. any given person being neither Everything nor Nothing. the importance of possibility; the show not saying "everything's fine now" in the end, but that getting through anything unfine is so possible to everyone. jeremy going from "if someone i like likes me then that's validating right" (which isn't "enough" from michael already b/c he's Had that & his life is still shit, b/c he's really seeking out the Possibility in it) to how his and christine's actual relationship, starting properly in ilpr, is Already [possibility], spontaneous & flexible & inspiring, motivational, supportive, enjoyable, so on so forth....christine deciding to date jake b/c that too looks like Possibility beyond the bedrock of even something she does also already genuinely love, same with jeremy re: michael

as always in theory this was gonna be like several sentences, & i'll post it b/c it sure already Exists lol, but yeah uhh tl;dr was something about how "yeah who'd enjoy it if jeremy 'just needed' to 'get the girl.' good thing the show doesn't say that" and "wouldn't enjoy it either if he 'just needed' to 'get the guy'" and "hooray for no one needing to consider anyone, or be considered by everyone, as either Everything or Nothing. squip logic to put it all on the line like 'michael can't fix your life? he's gotta go'" and "hooray for relationships (including with yourself) being about indefinite unlimited unruly Possibility versus defining any &/or all of them as all-consumingly, necessarily at odds with possibility, b/c the only thing that should be possible is happiness now & forever, at least only as far away as [romantic partner] is" and "also we Do get jeremy having relationship resolution with michael before vimh; he's fine In vimh even before knowing christine doesn't hate him, which also isn't the same as wanting to date, and they don't have to date" and "also their dating isn't the only thing that makes / has made their relationship meaningful so like even if they stop dating or they never started they'd still have that meaningful relationship" and etc & so forth. oh bonus "that of course when jeremy's Alone that doesn't mean [and forget all the relationships he has / their past present or future influence or relevance] like they're ongoing even when he's alone. the influence relevance & even presence of the relationships is there within Just Him. not everything not nothing. or both [alone] and [maximally connecting] are everything at the same time, and they're both nothing at the same time, or either is nothing/everything at once. so: somethingships for any & all or none"

MY STUDY BUDDY — Technology

Hello, everyone! I want to talk about the importance and uses of technology for a college student like me in a day-to-day basis.

Due to globalization, modernization, science, and innovation, technology is already integrated into our daily lives. It has made a lot of work convenient, quicker, easier, and more accurate for many people, including college students who need it more than ever, especially now that the academy is also settling for a modernized and technological approach to education.

As a college student, technology has helped me in one of my most major roles that I do almost on a daily basis: learn.

Studying at home. LITERALLY!

Because of technology and, of course, the pandemic, many schools and universities have switched to a hybrid format of learning, which is a form of learning in which classes can be conducted virtually or face-to-face. It has been helpful to both students and professors since many of us have duties beyond the academy. For me, it has helped me to save money and energy since it lessens the number of days I have to travel, knowing that I live far away from my university and I do not occupy a dormitory.

Submit to technology, again, LITERALLY!

Because of the different applications that developed or emerged during the pandemic, schools and universities have settled on utilizing them, and they are still being used currently. It has made a lot of students and professors work easier since students may submit without the need to print a physical copy; they do not need to go to the university premises just to submit a requirement; and it has saved the lives of many crammers (including me). Since the applications contain an automated grading system, it also has an anti-cheating function, and it has made record tracking much easier. It has also made the work of the professors and teachers easier.

Connect and Communicate

You and your groupmates live far away from one another. Your professor is not on school premises. You need to ask for help from a friend in the same class, but you're not together. Do not fret. Technology has made a way to contact them easier. As a college student with a group thesis, this has made my and my groupmate's workload, in terms of trying to communicate, lighter.

Who is this anonymous armadillo?

One major thing that technology has made convenient for college students like me is that we get to work in one single document online. We can check if our groupmates are complying or doing their parts. We can also ensure that our work is coherent since we know the outputs of our groupmates. It has also made collaboration and teamwork easier since we get to input in one document as a team.

You have a notebook without paper?

Because of technology, taking, storing, and organizing notes was made easier. Not to mention, it also limits or minimizes the use of paper and space. Therefore, less mess and less cutting of trees #InMySustainableEra. Highlighting and writing was also made easier and cleaner, especially that my handwriting is awful. I am now able to compact my notes into one device and it does not take up space from my room or table.

Vibing and chilling

Of course, technology provides us comfort and relaxation, especially for Gen Zs. We can stream music and videos, play fun games, chat with out friends, search for funny memes, and many more.

I'm very shy around people I don't know, but once I'm really comfortable with someone I'm very outgoing and talkative. I think I have a pretty calm personality but my mind is more energetic as I can't really express how I'm feeling even when I'm really happy. When I meet new people I always do a vibe check with them, although I don't consciously do it. I’m not really interested in people that give me bad vibes and I avoid them most of the time. However, I trust the people who give me good vibes right away. I’m the happiest when I get to have some time to myself, but I love going outside with people that I love. Im constantly trying to understand myself better. I think people see me as a reserved and cold person, I think it's because of my calm face and “don't approach me”-attitude. But I'm really generous to the people who are close to me. Im a person that needs Harmony in her life, which means I’m the loudest around quiet people and the quietest around loud people. I used to be very close to a lot of people, but now I'm quite a loner. I have some friends but I'm not really close to them, we're just good friends. Im a optimist and my goal in life is just to be happy and be the best version of myself.

I'm also good with technology and numbers, but I don't do it on purpose, I just do it and somehow it's right. I love music and everything that goes with it because I truly believe that music makes me a happier person and I can't go without it for very long. I prefer upbeat songs to slower ones, unless the lyrics are meaningful. I also love to dance, but only when I'm alone. In general, I would say that I prefer to listen to music alone, simply because I'm not that comfortable with other people. I also love backing especially cakes, even tho I’m rlly messy it somehow turns out to be good. I also like cooking but I don’t like cooking for others because, again, I cook messily and majority of them always complain about the shapes of the food tbh 😭. I also like to work out but like only if it’s in the morning because I don’t rlly have enough time for them afterwards. But like I’m not a sport freak or smth I only really do it for my health and to be fit not because I rlly enjoy it itself. I also like playing games it doesn’t rlly matter if alone or with friends, like you can always count on me that I’m gonna play with you. Also once I’m starting a game I ain’t stopping until somebody doesn’t want to play anymore.

I have a hamster, her name is Megan, she is so fluffy and and cute. My favorite part of the day is probably when I’m doing my night routine especially my skin care routine, because I don’t have time everyday to do it but every time I do I just feel so pretty. I love to wear anything that makes me comfortable but at the same time pretty. Generally you could say that I like every color but my favorites are pink,green,yellow,white,bluish mint. I also love doing makeup, but I don’t wear makeup everyday I only do on special occasions or when I’m going out. I am now at a makeup school and am trying to become a makeup artist in the future.

I don’t like the following things : loud voices/screaming, rudeness, bad manners, wasps, not being honest, making fun of others to look better, being mean for fun,

two things!

1. i got accepted into the masters program i applied for!!! no more maths! im gonna be an econ major now lol. to be fair, ive complained about not wanting to do this for so long. but now that ive been accepted, im relieved. sure, im not passionate about economics, but at least im gonna have a masters degree.

also the funny thing is, i thought they didn't even consider my application bc on the website it said that if your application is incomplete they're not even gonna get back to you. and for mine, i didn't provide any proof that i speak english (i don't have like the toefl or the cambridge exam or whatever it's called that's required) and they asked for a logic text (gre) to which i replied with "umm i do maths 💅". so my application was very much incomplete. but i guess my cv and cover letter blew them away lol. i have to say, my career does look quite impressive on paper.

but now the next question is, do i really want to do this program? because on one hand, yes, it's very prestigious. like it's very much lse vibes, like rich kids in polo shirts and moccasins kinda vibe. and it probably will look good on my cv. but at the same time like it's really not my vibe and it's super theoretical so idk if it's gonna be useful to me personally. like from an outside perspective, yes, it's great to have a masters degree from this school. but is it gonna provide me with the skills im looking for for my dream career in particular?

(but at the same time most people who have my dream career are engineers. but i feel like im too superficial to be an engineer. so idk.)

another school im looking at is not prestigious at all, but it has a very practical approach that's gonna be more useful to me specifically. but also is it gonna be more useful? because the practical approach is basically you have to learn everything yourself + they require an internship as a part of your diploma. so there's very little theory at all and i do need theory. so idk. lot's of questions.

2. im getting my very own ice skates tomorrow from the super professional skating shop in a different city! we're going on a road trip with my student and my bestie and we're also gonna get like all the accessories necessary and maybe even costumes lol. im so excited!!! like i literally couldn't sleep because ahhhhhhh !!!!!!!!

i'll show you guys the skates im gonna get! they're gonna like measure my feet and customise them for me and everything, like im gonna be a professional skater! i wanna get the brand that sasha trusova has so that i can boast about it to my cousin but i'll see what fits me best.

also we had a really interesting meeting yesterday and it made me think a lot about like... how do different types of people present themselves and is the way you present yourself a sort of dogwhistle for certain groups of people. idk it was quite eye opening. like if im an econ major is it gonna give off a certain kind of message to the people i meet? what is it that i want to signal to people?

also i went to the back doctor bc my parents think that my back is crooked and i need to wear a corset. but shocker, my back is completely fine! the doctor said that im a bit asymmetrical, which is natural for most people. but i have good posture, no tension and everything's looking good. and the exercises i do for figure skating (because of course i told him that i skate lol) are good for me. my mum still doesn't believe it lol.

i had a dream about B. i was going to the rink (can you tell im obsessed with skating yet lol) and i got out of the tram and he was there on his bike. and he grabbed my hand like "i miss holding your hand" and i was like aww and he felt very warm. and then i got on the bus but it started going backwards. and i called B like "i still have some time before skating, wanna grab a coffee together" and he was like "jacky, it's not the same as before, do you understand? we can't have coffee together". and was like ouch. and then i went skating (in my dream i already had my new skates) and then i woke up.

kuroo wasn't much of a coffee guy, himself, really just used it for those days that are far more taxing than your average day, but you mentioned how good your local cafe is and he barely even formulates the full thought before he was asking if he could meet you there later today.

your first date came quickly, out of nowhere, neither of you knowing if you could even consider it a date or if it was just a first-time meet up, but soon enough, you were certain.

you got there before him, found your favorite table, set your jacket down to claim your spot. the door jingled, soft footsteps approaching you. it was quiet enough in the cafe that they weren't a surprise, he wasn't a surprise, calling out your name softly, just in case he was wrong for some reason.

the second that you turned around to face him, you were hooked, enamored, swooning. he didn't need to look as good as he did to go to a coffee shop, but you really were not complaining.

"so what's good here?" he asked, scanning the board briefly before he moved his gaze quickly back to you. he was much more interested in you. in fact, he really did try to take in the information that you were saying about coffee, but he couldn't really care less about coffee. he nodded along, not really knowing the difference between a latte and a mocha. "i trust you," he said.

you ordered for him, not really having much to go off of except his vibe and the things that you enjoyed. when the drinks were finished and the two of you took just a moment away from your conversations about school and your backgrounds, you carefully walked to your favorite table.

all the coffee kuroo's ever had up until this moment had been bitter, burnt almost, tasteless, boring, too hot, too cold, not enough flavoring. but he took a sip of the drink he entrusted you to choose for him and it's the best thing he's ever tasted.

yeah, he could become definitely become a coffee guy.

Hi Christina! I've been following you for years (like way when you'd post Effy outfit dupes posts) and I have to say, you're very knowledgeable past your understanding of her character as well as the rest of Skins. You seem to almost ALWAYS have elaborate advice to provide for nearly any predicament so I'd like to know, how do you do it? How are you so knowledgeable across different problems people reach out to you about (as well as the capacity to provide explanations and discussions for particular subjects). I've always admired this quality about you and would like to be the same as well, it's just very wise and admirable and it gives off major big sis vibes!

First of all, this is one of the best messages I've ever gotten 🥹 Thank you for sticking around so long! I think part of it is my educational background- I did my undergrad degrees in neuroscience and philosophy and had most of a minor in cinema. And then my master's degree was an interdisciplinary thing between the cinema, psychology, and biokinesiology departments and the medical school. I'm also a certified CBT life coach as of recently. So I think the life advice comes from the psychology and neuroscience background, the elaborate understanding of Skins comes from cinema, and my dedication to lecturing you all on ethics comes from being an insufferable philosophy student. I was also a "renaissance scholar" (does that sound a bit wanky?) and was part of my school's polymath society, so I also met a lot of people with wide ranging research interests that way.

I've also had about a million jobs, so I've learned a lot of stuff that way. Chris in the career's office is literally me.

Plus, I'm someone who's really easily bored (read: has ADHD), so I always have a million questions that I'm trying to find an answer for. That's probably the best way to quickly gain knowledge- whenever you have a question about the way the world works, do a quick Google to see if you can find the answer. And I listen to a lot of podcasts while I'm doing other things, so I pick up random knowledge through doing that (Stuff You Should Know is a good place to start for random knowledge).

Buuuuuuut honestly, the real answer is I'm just good at Googling stuff. One of the reasons it sometimes takes me a long time to answer questions is because first I have to learn everything I would need to know in order to be able to understand how to approach answering the question, and then I do all of the research that goes into finding the actual answer. That process is one of the most fun things ever for me, so I love it when I get a question where I'm like "I have absolutely no idea where to start with this." But I definitely don't just always have that knowledge bouncing around in my brain. And even when I think I know the answer to something, I'll look it up to make sure that what I think is true is actually true, and that nothing has changed since the last time I looked that topic up.

When it comes down to it…how do you choose a college?

As the final admissions decisions of the season have finally rolled in, the tables turn for students and families who’ve been anxiously awaiting this news, and it’s time to decide what’s right for you. While you may be compelled to check the rankings, we have a different approach.

Here’s how we encourage you to make your own best decision –

#1 Break up with the rankings: There are all kinds of college rankings and ‘best of’ lists out there…and while that may have led you to apply to a certain school, we encourage you to leave all those external validations behind when it comes time to make your college decision. The truth is, no ranking list can tell you if you will be happy, if you will build a great community, meet amazing mentors, or shape the life you want to. Nothing can tell you this with certainty, but decision time is the perfect time to step away from the noise of what everyone else thinks about a college and tap into your own intuition. Here’s how:

#2 Ask yourself: how will I make this place my home?

Your college is not only the place you earn your degree, but importantly the place you will call home for the first independent stage of your young adult life. Students who find community and belonging are significantly less likely to transfer. So, where will you go on campus to find your people? Look for the indicators, and actually make a list for yourself of 3-4 tangible opportunities for community building you will tap into on any campus you are considering. This might have something to do with the way campus housing and residential life are set up to intentionally cultivate connections. Or perhaps it’s a student group, club, organization, sports team, intramural, theater, dance or music group. Maybe it’s a physical space on campus that you know you’ll put down roots and build community, like a cultural center, affinity space, school newspaper office, or the gym where you’ll do a morning workout session with your fellow early birds. Knowing that there are traditions, or ways of being on campus and connecting with others who share your values and your vibe goes a long way. Concretely identifying those places and spaces will give you confidence that you can form meaningful relationships, build a network, and make a campus your home.

#3 Ask yourself: what will it look like to learn here?

Definitely spend some time revisiting the majors and departments you will be engaged in. Familiarize yourself with how your program or major is set up, what unique opportunities are offered, and how much of your learning might be experiential through simulations, labs, community engagement, internships or study abroad. But beyond your possible major, ask yourself how much academic flexibility you will have at this school, and how important that is to you. Is it important to you to have a lot of choice in what classes you take? Or, are you someone who likes structure and would rather have a core curriculum or clear cut general education requirements laid out for you? Does it matter to have time to try out different areas of study, meet with an advisor, and settle into a major, rather than declaring it before you enter? Does it matter to you to be able to change your major if the need arises? Students and parents often overlook these aspects of how a college sets up the structure and approach to learning, and these can play a big role in your overall experience. Take some time to check in with yourself, and really consider what type of learning experience will best support your goals and your growth.

#4 Have an honest family conversation about the finances.

Hopefully, financial planning went into creating your college list. Whether or not you’ve been talking about finances all along, it is crucial that parents are having an honest conversation with your child at this point in the decision process about what role finances will play in the final choice. Is there a cap on how much your family can contribute towards college education? Is there a significant difference between the scholarships received at one school versus another? Is it an expectation that your child will take out student loans for a portion of their education, have a work study or another job? Calculate the net cost of attendance for each college you are considering so that you can compare costs “apples to apples,” factor in the intangible costs like airline expenses for colleges that are farther from home, and talk about how these costs fit in the bigger picture of all of the factors you are weighing in the final decision.

#5 Listen to your gut.

At the end of the day, it is critically important that a student is empowered to take ownership over their college decision. As our kids make this big transition into adulthood, they need their trusted adults to provide the parameters, but create lots of space for listening and support. We want to help them turn down the volume on all of the external voices of peers, family members, other adults, and even our own expectations so that they can choose well for themselves. i've never seen one of those 'what your major says about you' posts about white people in area studies so i'm gonna make rn please note that at the top of the list for literally all of these are people who are i need to use my russian and eastern european studies ma for something

(based off of those with ik people in them justice for south asian studies) these can all be further subdivided based on research interests like the vibe of someone who studies the balkans is different than someone who studies russia

russian, eastern european and eurasian studies: you are really into history and politics AND youre a bit of a careerist. death of stalin is one of your favorite movies. you know at least one person who is desperate to work for the cia. every few weeks you ask if you should go to law school. you constantly explain that you are not russian and are ready to explain why ukrainian and russian are different languages at all times. you wonder why your department houses persian and turkish classes (probably funding)

east asian studies: this type varies a lot and is by far the most dependent on gender. if your a women you're cool and you dress well. the girls are SHOCKED to hear you speak mandarin. you try not to make it too known but you definitely have a favorite anime. some of your male counterparts could learn to bathe a little more.

middle eastern studies: the final boss of evil ir bros. you have a weirdly patronizing approach to middle eastern politics and half your wardrobe is from j.crew. how was your summer internship in dc? please tell me more about the benefits of military service. unless ofc you do historical research then you are the sexiest person alive and have cool tastes.

jewish studies: you are jewish or "feel a spiritual connection to judaism" either way your vibe is very nerdy academic jewish archetype in a way that is either makes you incredibly endearing or insufferable to be around. you feel like my kin bc we have thoughts on poland

Expanding Your DJ Team? Here’s How To Find That Unicorn Team Member

Gather ‘round yet again my dear readers, DJ school is once again in session. And, wow, isn’t it the time of year for it? September is almost behind us, the air is crisp, the leaves fragile, and that iconic, fragrant spice is floating out of every Starbucks’ front door.

But…I digress. First thing’s first – congratulations! Seriously. Cheers to you if you’re ready to expand your DJ team and hire a DJ or two. It might feel overwhelming, but this is actually a good ‘problem’ to have. It means you’ll have more time to spend on growing your business – and you’ll have a few more weekends free.

But, starting the hiring process also means hunkering down and doing the work so that you attract the right person for your brand.

Let’s settle in for a good little chat, just me and you. I’ll outline some key steps I take to find that unicorn team member.

Step one: Create an actual application.

As easy as it’d be to just send out good vibes and hope that the perfect DJ team member answers the call – it’s not so black and white.

You’ll need to craft out an application form that can live on major job sites like Indeed, LinkedIn, all the “Ins” – and you’ll want to toe the line between extremely time consuming and thorough.

I like to create an application form with a few paragraph questions to answer. Not essay questions, but questions that will encourage the right applicant to fill out a sentence or two.

How they respond will give you a sense of their critical thinking skills as well as how well they can spell – seriously. This person should clearly answer questions with proper punctuation, verbs, nouns, etc.

This exercise helps you determine whether this person will be able to write a proper thank you note and communicate with clients in a clear and professional manner. It also shows that they’ll make the effort to craft out a good response. We don’t want to take up their entire day, but spending 20 minutes crafting out some good answers is not asking too much.

Here are some long-answer application questions to get you started:

Tell me about a time when you had an emergency and couldn’t fulfill a client event – how did you handle it?

Tell me about a time when you had two conflicting events. How did you handle it, and how do you ensure effective time management?

If you had a last-minute request for a song you’ve never heard of – how would you approach the request – and how would you interact with this person?

Put together a small playlist (15 songs) for your fantasy client; you’re allowed to put whatever your heart desires on it. Tell me why you chose it!

The last two questions are great for sussing out their music taste, flexibility, and overall knowledge. Everyone is different, and that’s a gorgeous thing, but if their knowledge of music only extends as far back as whatever is trending on TikTok, that might be a problem.

Step two: Dust off those people skills!

Now it’s time to discuss the onus on you. If an applicant takes the time to answer your questions thoughtfully, presents themselves well, and has a great resume – it’s time for an interview! Yay!

Remember, though, that this person will be evaluating you as much as you’ll be evaluating them – but for different reasons of course. They want to ensure they’ll get along with you, that you’re well organized, that you have your business together, and that you’re serious about bringing a new team member on.

Present yourself well. Prepare your interview questions beforehand, look presentable, and have water on hand for the both of you if you’re in person – you’re both about to do a ton of talking!

Step three: Communicate your expectations.

It’s always awesome to find folks with experience and have done this before, but those people are going to come with habits, instincts, methods that are very ingrained and that may be hard to reconcile if they’re not on brand with your business.

That’s okay! Sometimes people aren’t a good fit. However, it’s important to communicate expectations early on with prospective team members about how you operate. This can look like the following:

Give them a sense of your typical clientele; their general music taste, age range, and how they like their weddings to flow.

Get clear on how you interact with clients and whether you expect team members to interact with them. This is crucial, as you’ll want to be extra sure you can trust them to act professionally and use their problem solving skills when you’re not available.

Be clear on the actual DJing portion of things! Do you prefer Vinyl? Playlists? Do you prefer team members to create their own playlist or will you provide them?

DJ school tip: This all goes double if you take a team member on as an independent contractor – you can’t set terms beyond conditions of work and you aren’t really able to train them. Be sure to explore the differences between independent contractors and employees and really be certain on which path is right for your business.

As I say – hiring people is a good problem to have. It means you’re taking yourself and your business seriously. This means that you’re starting to see the fruits of your labors – and that is the best feeling. That takes work!

Most of us aren’t hiring experts, so it’s important to really prepare when taking on team members so nobody’s time is wasted.

05.01.22 – 07.28.22

According to the Solar Calendar, May 1st marks the beginning of Summer known as Lì Xià 立夏. This period rules the element of fire. This is malleable energy; this is a time to transmute undesirable energy or use this fire energy to intensify and maximize what we want to see come to fruition. I am not surprised that this coincided with the eclipses in May and Jupiter in Aries, transmute or get burned. Here are some general themes this Summer will bring.

· Changes in our education/school systems. We will start to see more home schooling, pod schools, and just a completely different approach to the education system. Coming out of the Ox and Rat Energy and the element of Metal, we will take a more holistic approach on to how to really prepare children for this new world.

· Financial Instability and Market crashes. I spoke about the roller coaster of the financial markets, crypto included, in my yearly blog. It’s going to make us a little sick and worried. We are heading into a new financial system and the old needs to break down. Inflation is going to get worse before it gets better. The Tiger wants to clear it all.

· Workforce challenges. There is work out there but the compensation and payment is not really making sense. This is where you need to transmute the energy and if you are ready to start your own business and do your own thing, ANNNNND have laid the groundwork, this is your sign. This time is about KNOWING YOUR VALUE & WORTH.

· Travel will continue to boom and with the year’s element in Water there are NO BOUNDARIES. There are also aspects of major migration, people moving and relocating due to political and financial reasons.

· Earthquakes, tsunami’s, erosion, and major geological changes.

· Traditional relationships and marriage change. This is where the hedonistic aspect of the Tiger comes out. Water energy is sensuous and about exploration. So, it will challenge and change somehow, we view partnership. Don’t be shocked when you see public figures come out as polyamorous.

· Supply chain issues, food shortages, trade issues, and the list goes on with commodities. Famine, Soil issues, farming issues.

· Ocean and Water exploration and innovation. Expect this to be a continuous theme in 2022/2023.

· The rise of the Divine Feminine. This one shook me to my core, and it will be hitting a major peak from 06/29 - 07/28. Women’s rights, Mother’s protecting their children, fertility, reproductive rights, and the “business of babies”.

As I always say, energy is cyclical, we are releasing karmic ties. The best way to describe the energy and vibe of Summer is Alchemy. Alchemy is defined as “the process of taking something ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary, sometimes in a way that cannot be explained”. That’s where we are. Shit will hit the fan this Summer and we will all experience waves of abundance if you choose to work with what you have. This is very much attached to the sacral chakra. Can you create the life you want with what you have and release the stagnant energy? There is a lot of unstable energy this Summer and Svadhishthana, the sacral chakra gets blocked by fear. You cannot create in a state of fear. Think of the lunar nodes. Embody the north node in Taurus and release the fear/transmute the dark energy of Scorpio. Use the mantra of “I deserve to enjoy life” and create the world you want to live in, don’t wait for it to be created for you.

Remember these are themes and energies we are moving through. Does it mean it’s set in stone, NO. We have free will AND you should look at your own personal chart to see what the major themes are for you this year. This is a collective overview. I am using yearly transit stars (Jiang Xing and Sui Jian series) for the coming months.

05/01 - 05/29: Yin Fire Energy - Yi, Si

This month will move FAST, and we will see issue after issue come up. Yin fire energy is the small flame that illuminates what is in the dark. So, expect major exposés. Things will come to light that are just distractions, so the real issue stays in the dark. This month the San He is the element of Metal and guards the lungs. So, what does that mean? Well, expect Covid cases to make a comeback as this rules the lungs. Also, the element of Metal is confining. So, we could see some restrictions come back. I find this interesting as the yearly element of water is in control here. So, I don’t expect these mandates or rulings to last, there will be push back. With stars Sui Jian and Zei Bei in the property palace, this can indicate changes in policies, changes in power and political office, and major changes in the education system. There will be major exposés on political figures and how it has affected various countries and their economy. Follow the money, honey.

With Career in the Illness palace, it’s a downturn and shift in the job market. Know your worth! There are jobs out there, but they aren’t paying what is needed for people to live. Inflation will continue to rise and it’s all about creating the life you want. There are companies that will create work “life” cities and give “affordable” housing but it’s giving work camp energy. This month the Metal energy will confine you and put you in chains if you let it. So, make sure you are using the metal energy to your advantage. Be the axe that cuts the chains or put yourself in them.

Money and finance will be in the Grave, the Four Earths. This is a struggle, it’s unmoving, it’s stagnant energy. With stars Bai Hu and Hua Gai it signifies famine, acts of violence, and the call to honoring the earth. Since there are shortages in food, goods, and money expect an increase of theft. Financial instability is going to be leaving us feeling like we want off this roller coaster. The highs and lows, it’s truly a gamble right now. For both the traditional market and cryptocurrency. So be wise with your investments. Also, I expect to see the rise in “Guru’s” and “Prophets” starting in May and continuing throughout the year. Be CAREFUL on who you allow to be the ruler of your mind, there should only be one ruler, you. Who you choose to lead your heart is another story, but I’m not surprised because the element of Fire rules the heart. Spiritualism will be something that could become infiltrated by the wrong people and weaponized. So please be careful on social media, especially if you are sharing your personal beliefs that may be a bit too “truthful” if you know what I mean. The positive is that the supply issues and food shortages will have us back to connecting with the land, HELLO community gardens and co-ops! Repurposing: vintage goods will be a trend as well. Upcycling is where we will find gems, and this is also a major financial opportunity. Being thrifty won’t just be a cool trend but a way of life.

Travel in the Siblings Palace with stars Da Hao and Sui Ri is all about migration. This reminds me of the “manifest destiny” period, and I’m not surprised. Same star placements, just a different element. So, what would this mean for us? Manifest Destiny was all about “God/Source” leading the American settlers across the country to spread democracy and capitalism. So, the shift here would be “God/Source” leading this migration due to the lack of democracy and extreme capitalism. The US is knee deep in its Pluto return, so this is a karmic kick in the butt. And because the world often looks to the US, it will impact other countries. This is going to get worse before it gets better, however we are in store for some major healing and innovation. Stay tuned.

05/30 - 06/28 - Yang Fire Energy - Bing, Wu

Yang Fire is the SUN, so it’s going to be INTENSE. I also expect the solar flares to really be active. As above, so below. So, get ready for some quakes, erosion, and geological changes. Since the element of the year is in Water; it can result in Tsunamis or even dams and levy’s being damaged. Even the San He for this period is in element of Fire. This rules the heart, so we could see an increase of heart attacks, heart issues, essentially anything cardiovascular related.

The Self palace is in the Career Palace and opposing the Travel Palace which is aspecting the Spouse Palace with stars Sui Jian and Jiang Xiang - phew, that’s a lot going on! What does that all mean? Well, it’s the breakdown of traditional careers and the work week. Working from home will be the new norm and we will see new systems that support this new hybrid environment. It can also indicate that this change will tear down the old system of the “work week” and help people create more sustainable ways of income and balance. This will also be in part to the anger and frustration with the old systems. Yang Fire + Yang Fire is literally the fire of a thousand suns. It’s ANGER and all about reclaiming your POWER. This energy will solidify that we do not need to be a slave to the 9-5 system, and it will be something new and efficient, something that creates more life balance. It will also bring up value and worth. People will be angry with the lack of assistance and compensation from the powers that be. This energy supports a revolution. When Yang Fire is angry it scorches the earth. This can be scary but at the same time allows us to create a new foundation. As I said in the yearly report, this is where we start to tear down and rebuild for a better future. We must tear down the old house and build a strong foundation.

Career is in the Money Palace and located in the Grave. Stars Guan Fu and Hua Gai are aspected here and as I said before there will be a ton of litigation and going back and forth with these Covid restrictions and a fight for sovereignty. It’s truly an overreach on behalf of the world powers that will add gasoline to this fiery revolution. This is a slow burn, so expect this to continue throughout the entire year. But when aspects like this appear in the Grave, it unlocks great investments and benefits.

Finances/Money will be in the Life Palace with stars Bai Hu and Zhi Bei located in the Four Corners in Yang wood. The archetype here is the great banyan tree being aspected by malefic stars that point to famine, violence, and slander. This is where we could really start to see the challenges of food supply issues. The banyan symbolizes the tree of life and vitality and being in negative aspects this means a fast breakdown. There are also aspects of revealing that this was man made and used to create more violence and suffering. Be willing to look past the obvious and focus on solutions. Connect back to the earth and start investing in community gardens, local farms, and co-ops. This also opposes the travel palace which is in Yang Metal. The great axe that chops wood. Justice will be swift with regards to who or what is behind the food and supply shortages. This will cut deep and could also signify a major change and shift in political leaders. We will be privy to the trade deals that went awry. This entire summer season will show us the impacts of the abuse of power, and it will feel like we have little fires everywhere but as quickly as they erupt, they will be put out. So, stay grounded and implement change where you can. The micro is here to impact and change the macro.

With Karma/Mental Palace opposing the Money Palace we will see an increase in plant-based medicine for solutions to mental health issues. Also, the push in plant-based diets. Small farms will be highlighted and the potential to make lots of money in farming is REAL. Larger farms and corporations will not be able to provide, and this will lead us back to investing in small business and even back to bartering. Since land is very precious, this means housing prices will continue to be affected. Interest rates could skyrocket, and it will be harder to acquire land/property in general.

Lastly, the Travel Palace will be opposing Ming in the Spouse Palace and in the four directions. This will be in Yang Water; it will be expensive to travel, and the travel industry will be booming. Local travel, cruises, and international travel will be a luxury but there is a market for everything. Stars Da Hao and Zai Sha point to exploration in Yang Water, the vast ocean. So, this is where we will see ocean innovation and exploration. We could find solutions to the water shortages and farming issues in the ocean. Yang Water is also associated with wealthy people, the top one percent. So, we may see wealthy individuals come into power.

06/29 - 07/28 - Yin Fire and Yin Earth Energy - Ding, Wei

The San He for this period is in the element of Wood. This element guards the liver and controls the earth. This period will feel like a global spiritual cleansing period. Think of this as a global ayahuasca session. I have never done ayahuasca so I’m in for a ride too, LOL. With Ming in the Friends Palace and stars Sui Jian and Hua Gai it’s the rise in new leaders, grassroots movements, and revolutions. New government systems, new political parties being formed. This all sounds so amazing and inspiring- and it really is! The catch is that this is in the Four Earths which means it will be slow moving. We will be on the precipice of greater change. There will still be the juxtaposition with narrow minded individuals living in the old world and paradigm. Wei is the Sheep, and it tends to want to follow the powers that be, rather than break free. This slow-moving energy will be where we feel the Yang Water Tiger turning the tides and bring us new beginnings.

The Career Palace will be aspecting the Children’s palace located in the Four Corners in Yin Water. This is all about sexual health, reproductive rights, children, and the business of being born. This is where we will feel the eruption of the Divine Feminine. Mama Bear mode activated, and you better watch out. “Hell, hath no fury like a woman scorned” and let me tell you, it’s going to get REAL. You cannot tell people what to do with their bodies! We will see an increase in home births, doulas, midwives, and birthing centers. We will dive deeper into ancestral knowledge and holistic based treatments for women. We are ushering in the rise of the Divine Feminine and the Patriarchy isn’t having it. This shift will affect how we look at family and wealth. What familial assistance is needed, and it will have us re-evaluate government and nonprofit programs. Right now, these programs support the old paradigm and it’s not working. We will also see stars Guan Fu and Zhi Bei bring vile and criminal figures to light and to justice. A cosmic clearing takes time, but it’s very much needed.

Money/Finance in the Parents Palace located in the Four Directions in Yin Wood. This corresponds with the animal, The Rabbit. The market will be volatile and will see growth in so many sectors, but it will be hard to navigate which system works. Cryptocurrency is on the rise, but it has its own set of challenges. It is fast moving energy, and we aren’t really equipped to take a ride on that wave yet, which is why we keep wiping out. Real money will be in property and farmland. The financial gap will become wider, and this is where we will see a major fight for justice. Inflation will still be on the rise, and this is where we can start to see how cryptocurrency can level out the playing field. People will feel desperate in this volatile market, it’s important to not invest in “get rich quick schemes” and to continue to operate from a higher plane - as above so below. The stars and planets are in upheaval and so are we. The Rabbit is all about self-preservation, it’s all about relying on your own methods and not waiting for the bailouts, stimulus money, or any government assistance.

The Travel Palace will be in the Siblings Palace located in the Four Earth’s in Yin Earth which controls water. Because this is the start of hurricane season, monsoon season, and rainy season in parts of the world, expect major storms. The weather patterns will continue to be odd and violent. Be prepared and make sure your travel plans are insured. Remember, creativity comes from a union with the divine.
