Thought I’d share the Informational Paragraph I did for English class a few months ago. We weren’t allowed research, this is just all information I already knew!!

When you think of bands, the first band that pops up into your head is probably not TesseracT. While the Milton Keynes group may not be widely known, they are one of the most influential bands in the djent (a substyle of progressive metal) movement, with one of the most unique and iconic styles of any band out there. Firstly, TesseracT is a band that fuses heaviness with melodiousness, providing for a jarring and pleasant musical contrast. This style is not often seen in metal, and is unique and interesting. The hard-hitting, punchy riffs combine with passionate, airy vocals; a perfect example of this is being Acceptance - Concealing Fate Pt. 1: a song off of their first album One. Although, their music isn’t just a pretty face. As well as a wonderful sound, the composition and instrumentation are is unmatched. TesseracT’s music is very complex (Of Energy - Singularity being a perfect example) , with irregular time signatures, difficult polyrhythms and unpredictable but pleasant key signatures that will leave any musician stunned. Masters of prog, the five 5 members of TesseracT all are adept in music theory, and no less skilled in playing instruments. Nevertheless, where their music is complex and technical, it far from lacks emotion. Vocalist Daniel Tompkins is a talented lyricist, presenting strong underlying meanings with much room for interpretation while also flowing very well with the instrumentals (ie. King from their 2018 album Sonder). Finally, the band’s evolution. The band has been releasing music since 2011, and they have been constantly growing and shaping their style ever since. While they evolve, they still manage to keep their sturdy roots of progressive heaviness while also experimenting with new and exciting sounds. Comparing their first studio album with their most recent will leave you pleasantly surprised at how much the production and musicians have improved over the course of only seven 7 years, bringing exciting material to the table and constantly evolving. In the metal community, bands tend to either grow too much or too little; losing their way along their careers. TesseracT hasve found the balance between the two, never leaving us bored, and always on our toes. TesseracT may not be the most popular band out there, and they definitely might not be for everyone, but there is no denying the talent of these humble pioneers.
