Ill say i dont get dirkjake but then i really do. Ive maintained my belief that dirk is one of the only alpha kids in the Jake Stakes that actually… knew who Jake was and still wanted him regardless. Which isn’t to say Jane & Roxy wouldn’t want Jake if they knew who he was, they still love Jake as a friend after his persona falls apart but. Dirk knew he was a scared shut-in who just watched movies in his room all day and that the persona of a strong brave adventurer was made up and still was like. “I need him.”

this is gonna be very shitposty but every once in a while i just gush over the creativity and amazing writing that is farah's character, specifically in context of her being a black woman. like her character archetype only makes sense if she's played by Jade Eshete.

Her whole life she's been brought up by a strong black military family, so she's always been expected by not just her family, but by American society as well to be the "strong, independent, badass" character. and she expects this of herself too, most of her panic attacks/breakdowns are based on her feeling like she's not being strong enough (im specifically thinking of s1, that scene with amanda). but thats the thing, Farah is incredibly strong, shes incredibly brave, and she literally is called a badass by almost every major character because she really is what holds the entire cast together.

but despite this, her character still rebels from that archetype so well, because shes not strong and brave all the time, there are many moments in the show where we see such a vulnerable side of her. and these deviations arent just a cold emotionless moments, they're messy! she's a hot mess! but thats a good thing!

The overall message of the show is one that I am already in love with, but another message the show represents in specifics to farah is that there are sooooo many ways to be strong. you're never going to prove yourself to others if they only have one way of defining their expectations of you. its because of her vulnerabilities that she is one of the strongest female protagonists ive ever seen.

Something that seems to attract the Davekat shipping is how the two can help each other from their trauma, at least that's what it seems to look like. But tbh I'm not seeing how their experiences help each other get better. If anything Karkat would do better healing from his trauma with a different human, since Dave is so closed off from his trauma. But no they're just awkward and closed off emotionally any time they are together. Anything else they're just arguing like friends.

Idfk who would help best, but at this rate Dave and Karkat are just platonic buddies who probably helped each other forget their problems for a while on the comet. As if friends can't cuddle and play together. No, it has to be romantic because what is the point otherwise!

Friendships of any kind does not exist in the Homestuck fandom. Everybody has to fuck with someone while also not actually fucking. Considering that Karkat was a leader of his troll session to parallel John, I would think John would also be the one to help Karkat the most. They were the closest of human and troll interaction out of everyone else. And yet, Post Retcon and fandom make it seem like they are total strangers to one another. But yeah, I'm not seeing how their experiences can help each other out. Karkat is upset that most of his friends had died and felt like a horrible leader. How would Dave help in that regard? Dave doesn't have any closer connection to the other trolls that had died besides maybe Tavros and Equius. Would he even sympathize that good trolls like Nepeta and Feferi didn't deserve it? Dave himself isn't a leader either, it's John. And Dave barely did much to lead besides maybe his dead Dave selves, but now he is seldom on doing that again. How would Karkat even help Dave for things like the issues with Bro? Even if his friends would technically be siblings in the troll incestuous slurry, Karkat doesn't exactly have a brother brother blood ectobiology connection like Dave, Bro, and Dirk. And all of the trolls are the same age as him. The only difference is in status of the hemospectrum and power from highbloods, but it doesn't really equate to how Bro was the guardian and raising Dave in preparation for Sburb. Trolls may not be the right person to talk about how a person is raised if their planet conditioned everyone that child soldiers is a good thing. Karkat may be a mutantblood, but this dude had a dream too in being part of the system despite his blood. But fanon and Pesterquest, make it out like he is in constant danger that he could never reach that dream.

i’m ashamed to admit but a bit funny and good! the piece as a whole as i get further into it? FUCKING SUCKS AND IN NO WAY RESEMBLES THE CHARACTERS INTRODUCED????!?!!!?!! i cannot understand why they made jane into a supervillain fascist while mentioning that she is (but definitely was, not is) extremely kind and empathetic. this. does. not. make. sense. fuck dirk i don’t remember him being this big of a tool?? poor jake he’s just a himbo quit hurting him !!! love dave and karkat. they vibe im enjoying them. john is so depressed please get this boy into therapy and on some anti anxiety/ depression meds. WHY DID THEY DO THIS TO JADE?!!?!!! yes she grew up alone on an island, with little to no reference to social interaction, but she’s not stupid. she’s incredibly smart, i think SOME PART OF HER would’ve picked up that her advances were not reciprocated ?? or understood that 85% or whatever of her advances not being outright rejected did not mean feelings were reciprocated. maybe her doggy senses helped her to smell emotion !! IDFK! maybe she could calculate how many of her advances were being reciprocated!!! so i find it unlikely and in poor taste that she has no issues with adapting socially to some things, but is completely oblivious to others. it’s one thing if she was still and kid and oblivious socially? but she’s an extremely social person that is simultaneously incredibly scientifically minded. she would pick up on things. she would notice when things were off. god i’m upset about her characterization. she’s 23, she’s learned a lot! not just how to sleep around, she’s picked up some social stuff! and i’m fine with that part- if that’s the path they think fits her, then who am i to judge! i think it’s actually interesting in set up! but not how they substituted it for awareness. i think jade could’ve been given idk some cool marceline treatment! except werewolf? cool floaty werewolf chick that plays bass! i really wanna write a story where someone is conceptually is a fictional character, like in universe is one fictional level down from the rest of reality, but doesn’t realize it. i know this has definitely been done by the scp wiki in some way, but i want to make it a full on story. like the character has some kind of weird disconnected feeling with the rest of the world, discovers the fictional work they came from, existential crisis, emotional journey, the whole shebang. but also like aaaahhhggg i need to learn to write!! because i don’t want a story like that to too much weird recursive meta storytelling, but i want it to be cool and emotional yet it hinges on that!! it’ll be something to think about i guess.

this kinda came from an idea of “what if hatsune miku was embodied into a real person”, because how do you define a character that is by definition undefined? i wanna write someone coming to terms with the fact that they are one facet of a metaphorical million-sided gemstone, a full person in her own right yet part of something deep and wide and conceptual. like i said earlier something within the noosphere brought to life. or like idfk brain ghost dirk homestuck emerging from the perception of someone else. it’s just a really cool concept that would definitely shine in the hands of a more experienced writer

He mostly uses this talent to make beutifull paterns in his lab coats sleeves as a way to different his morning lab coat from his night lab coat from his fancy lab coat from his date labcoat from his sleep labcoat from his seductive labcoat (that has changed from seductive labcoat to the labcoat that seduces Cecil in specific) from his serius science labcoat to his just assisting the other guys in the lab today labcoat to his Esteban's PTA meetings labcoat from his secret labcoat and so goes on (he cannonically has a bunch of labcoats for different occasions and I love it for him). He does cute patches for Cecil and Esteban (he also did one for Aubregine, he never did for Khoshekh because like a proper cat he hated cute clothes) more rarely for his friends and since they adopted Steban he is learning to knit to make him a cute baby onesie of the uncomprehensive horrors.

> Jonathan Crane: When Jonathan worked on Gotham University he was a firm supporter of inclusion programs. He would never shame a student that was dedicated but simply didn't had the same tools as the others (be because they came from a school from a poor area with low govermental investiment or because they were neurodivergent or had to work all day and had no time to study or was facing personal problems stopping them from succed like an abusive househood or relationship or bullying or simply systemic discrimination) and would do all he could to help them. On the other hand priviledged students specially bullys always suffered in his classes and a lot of them became his text subjects.

He also unfortunally eats the cookie first and preffers it from the white part when eating orios. Farrah rarely buys oreos because of that and when they have oreos she and Tood refuse to look at Dirk eating it. Also yeah I'm a firm defender of they lvie together at Todds house after they created their agency. I'm firmly divided between Dirk/Tood and Farrah/Tina or Dirk/Todd/Farrah as my ships for the show (besides Amanda/Rowdy3, best polycule).

• Blorbos

Also my first instinct was to say he made all the other characthers in the Sims but that was a low pun.
