continuation of my lwa highschool musician au thingie

just some light brainstorming/character building:

idkkk ive done some reconsideration regarding what diana would be doing, and thinking about it now i think akko and diana both being violinists works well bc violinists are VERY competitive, and they are both very good at what they do. so they both compete for first chair.

some characters will be band kids, but this will all work out because of the symphony orchestra in which there are brass/woodwind/percussionists

akko and diana are both violinists (already established and decided now)

sucy would be a cellist defo, she gives off wednesday vibes

lotte would be a violist, bc of her whole thing of being "doesnt-matter-if-shes-there-or-not lotte the invisible"

amanda gives off band percussionist vibes that plays the full drum kit for the jazz band

constanze is prob a clarinet or something that's tedious to put together in the band. bc she's all mechanical so

jasminka is either a double bass player or a euphonium. either one

barbara and hannah are definitely the second violin first desk because they need to even out the section. they're good just not as good as diana

chariot is a violinist (previously established)

croix i am a little bit iffy about im not too sure tbh. i want her to be another music director at their school im just not sure what kind of role she'll play yet. i WILL be writing charoix beware

very caught between writing hannah x amanda (idrk where that ship even came from tbh) & barbara x lotte OR barbara x hannah. they're all like really cute and i can enjoy them. idk i cant really write polyamory well it's not really my area of experience

Magical Rivalry

a Hannah and Barbara x Reader poly fic! requested by anon!

Another day at school, another run in with Diana Cavendish's attitude. You'd just been walking out to the court yard on your break between classes when you noticed the academy's star student Diana bickering once again with Atsuko about how a spell should be properly preformed.

The argument seemed to end and diana left just as you walked over but her two friends, Hannah and Barbara stayed put and started further pestering akko.

"I can't believe you have yourself bunny ears again" Barbara snickered.

"It's one of the most simplest of spells and she still can't get it right" Hannah hid a light laugh behind the palm of her hand. "You should really take Diana's advice you know"

"Yeah, you could learn a thing or two from such an exceptional witch like her, maybe if you were her student you'd actually be a fraction as good of a witch as she is" Barbara added on, her own smug look matching her friends.

The both of them were making akko visibly angry, any more and she would blow her too and snap at them, which meant it was time for intervention.

"Wow, is Diana really all you two talk about? I mean" you chuckled to yourself. "I know you're like her lackeys or something but, come on. Time to obsess over some else already, this old shtick of yours is getting boring"

The girls looked over at you with a mix of offence and suprise on their faces.

"We - we are not her lackeys!" Hannah protested with a huff after recovering from her shock.

"Yeah, we've been best friends for like, ages now!" Barbara agreed.

"Well your 'best friend' just went to her next class without you" you pointed out.

The girls looked in the direction that Diana had gone, to each other then shit you glares before running off.

"Thanks" akko give you a smile "that was pretty funny, they're so annoying"

"No problem." You smiled back.

Over then next while, each encounter with Hannah and Barbara was just as frustrating. You'd shoot glares in the hallways, share insulting remarks between your lunch tables, try to put do each other in classes. It really felt like the rivalry between you two could only be a bitter taste in the mouth.

The next time you saw them was in an empty studio class. Probably having borrowed it as a space to practice their magic for the time being. You were walking past when you noticed them through the open door.

"Like this" Barbara flicked her wrist with her wand in hand, demonstrating a spell Hannah had previously been stuck on in class. One you actually one-upped her on yourself.

"Right so I raise my arm like this-" you watched as Hannah showed a lot of improvement thanks to Barbara's tips.

"Wow, you're a good teacher Barbara, keep this up and maybe Hannah will get a passing grade" you spoke up, leaning in the doorway. That wasn't how you meant for it to come out, that was supposed to be teasing but..

Barbara responded with a proud smile while Hannah only got embarrassed and shooed you out of the room, stammering as she shut the door on you.

Their reactions, to your surprise, made you smile and maybe even giggle a bit.

The next class you had together was a potion class, and the assignment wasn't easy. You did your best to follow the instructions exactly but your hand was unsteady and you put in two drops of witch's flower extract instead of one...the whole thing boiled too quickly and suddenly instead of a huge puff of smoke you got a huge puff of glitter.

"Wow y/n, way to change up your look, I think that's an improvement" Hannah giggled from behind you as you tried shaking some of the glitter out of your hair.

"Wow, sparkles suit you" Barbara giggled as well.

To anyone else it sounded like the usual back and forth banter, but you couldn't help trying to hide a shy smile. "Yeah, well, I guess I'm just naturally fashionable" you joked, making the three of you laugh a bit more until the teacher cut it short and told you to start over.

Things went on like this, insults turned to compliments, nagging turned to advice, bickering turned to smiles and teasing. You even helped each other out a few times where you would have just launched or mocked one another's mistakes.

You found yourself walking down that familiar hall again, slowing your steps to a stop outside a studio class room when you heard two familiar voices.

"Ugh, how did they do it? They're so good at pronouncing the spells incantations, and I'm still stuck on the second word" Barbara sighed.

"Not to mention did you see what they made in that last class? That was so creative, I can't believe I never thought of it." Hannah pouted.

You rose an eyebrow and stayed just out of site by the doorway. Curiousity got the best of you and you started eavesdropping again. Something about Hannah's pout and Barbara's focused expression made you smile.

"...hannah-" "Barbara-" "no you go first" they gave each other wide eyes.

"On the count of three we both say what's on our mind, ready?"

"One"

"Two"

"Three! I think I like y/n!" They blurted the last part in unison.

The sudden confession brought a wave of heat to your face and you quickly got out of there before they could realize you were listening.

Your heart was pounding as you made your way to your dorm room and practically threw yourself onto your bed. You shoved your face into your pillow and giggled to yourself until your heart stopped fluttering. You're lucky your roommates weren't there to see you so mysteriously giddy all of a sudden.

Wait, why were you so giddy? You just found out your classroom-enemies, er - your rivals, both just admitted to crushing on you. Why did that make you want to kick your feet like a little school girl fawning over her crush?

Could it be because you are one? Doing just that? Did you have feelings for Hannah and Barbara?! Your friends were not going to let you live this down...

Kagari Cat - Yandere Diana Cavendish x Akko Kagari [Part 1]

Summary: When Diana Cavendish wants something, she makes it happen. And what she wants now...is for Atsuko Kagari to be her obedient little kitten.

[Luna Nova Magical Academy - Team Blue's Dorm]

Hannah and Barbara looked confused at Diana when she walked into the room with a brown bag in her arms - she normally doesn't go shopping alone. Diana placed the bag on her table and started placing the contents on the table: A Cat Wand with a feather attached at the end, a small bottle of catnip, 3 different colored bell balls, a small cat brush, a cotton chew toy for the cat nip to go inside, and a bright blue collar with a golden bell and a nametag attached to it. Hannah and Barbara looked at each other confused before watching Diana, who lifted the collar in her hand and smiled at it with a blush on her face.

"Um, what's with all the cat stuff, Diana? Are you getting a cat?" Hannah asked as she watched her best friend and leader get her wand out of her sash with a toothy smile before looking at the girls,.

"Yes. Come with me, girls. It's time for me to get my little kitten." Diana said as she walked out of the room with her wand out and her collar in her hands - Hannah and Barbara were even more confused. What was Diana going to do with her wand? The two girls follow Diana as she walked down the hall to the Red Team's Dorm and knocked on the door. The door opened and Lotte revealed herself with a nervous smile.

"Hello, Diana. Is there something I can help you with?" The Orange haired girl asked but the leader of the Blue Team just smiled at her before pushing her out of the way and walking into the room. Sucy was tending to her shrooms while Akko was sitting on the bed with a book in her hand. Diana walked over to Akko with a smirk before lifting her wand at the Japanese girl, causing her to drop her book and hold her hands up in a surrender motion.

"Whoa! Diana! What are you doing?!" Akko asked in a panicked voice as Diana's magic shined with magic before Diana spoke the incantation.

"Metamorphie Fociesse!" The magic shot out of the wand and hit Akko in the center of her chest, engulfing her in a cloud of smoke Soon enough, the smoke cleared and in Akko's place was a red-furred ca with some of its fur in a ponytail on the back of its head and blood red eyes.

Diana turned Akko into a CAT!

"Diana, what did you do that?!" Lotte asked as Diana walked over to the cat and attached the collar around Akko's neck before picking her up and walking out of the room with a smile on her face.

"Time to come home with me, kitten. I'm going to be the perfect master to you." Diana said to the struggling cat in her grasp. She finally had her little kitten and she wasn't going to let her go.

LWA rare pair week 2023 - Day 2: Sun and Moon

Here’s my contribution to this year’s rare pair week! Took me a while so I am maybe a bit late, but here’s a cute oneshot involving Hannah x Akko.

“You are like the sun to me.”

Akko was used to Hannah always being a bit rough around the edges. Not that she terribly minded, because she knew that deep inside there was a genuinely loving and tender side of Hannah that only a few were allowed to be seen.

And Akko was happy to be one of those few. On the one hand why wouldn’t she as Hannah’s girlfriend, though those who would know either Akko or Hannah for longer knew that a long time ago the two couldn’t stand each other. Barely even comprehend the idea of ever dating the other.

Nowadays Akko couldn’t help but find it funny to look back on. She’s long forgiven Hannah who despite her previously mentioned difficult attitude was the one to try to make amends first. Still, even as their relationship progressed and eventually turned into them realizing they had affection for each other Hannah always remained…distant? That’s the best way Akko could describe it. Because despite being in one Hannah seemed always very averse when it came to showing affection.

At first she thought it was because of Hannah still having some regrets about her previous actions against Akko. Or that the problem was in herself and that she was just a way more affectionate person than most. But luckily (or not so luckily) a visit to Hannah’s best friends Diana and Barbara cleared it up for Akko - because apparently Hannah was always reserved when it came to affection. Which was frankly to be expected with her usual behavior according to Diana.

Akko totally didn’t pout at the supposed obvious observation.

Though besides that she did pick up something interesting from Barbara. Hannah could show affection, and when she did? It meant a lot.

This was one of those moments, where Hannah compared Akko to the sun. The implications were almost as expansive as the sun itself. And how did Akko respond?

“What?” A dopey smile on her face.

A faint hint of a blush was on Hannah’s face as she quickly turned around. “No, it’s nothing.”

Akko realizing her mistake almost fell off the small stone wall they were sitting on. “W-Wait I didn’t mean it like that!” Some grass would be thrown into the air as Akko had to kick the ground to regain her balance, letting a hand rest on Hannah’s shoulder. “I was just surprised! I mean it’s not every day you are compared to the sun. Though does that mean I’m hard to look at for you?”

Her last words were obviously playful, yet still Hannah snapped back with notably bigger eyes. “N-No!” A sigh left her. “It means you are like…the light of my life to me.” She tried to turn away again. “It sounds silly, I kno-“

Akko scooted closer to Hannah as she guided the latter’s face to look back at her. “I don’t think it’s silly, do continue.”

Hannah’s faint blush became a little more prominent as she cleared her throat. “W-Well like I was saying. You are the sun to me because you are so…radiant. So bright and so beautiful. For someone to see you for the first time they would perhaps only note a few things about you before moving on. But that would be ignoring how great you truly were - how- how much there is and how the true fools are those who never look at you deeper.”

Listening attentively with a blush Akko would stroke Hannah’s back, helping the girl relax when it came to those times she wanted to say more yet had her inexperience in showing love sabotage her. Because to Akko it didn’t matter how Hannah showed her feelings, just that she did. And this was more than beautiful.

“It may seem strange to admit I was once a fool, one who shunned away your light and found it rather obnoxious. You already knew that after all.” A chuckle. “But I still do, because you showed me a world I may have never seen if I didn’t meet you. If you didn’t light my path in the darkness. And for that I’m happy to be your girlfriend. And just like the sun I hope you will be with me for a very long time.”

Hannah came closer to Akko, looking like she wanted to kiss her. As Akko was on the edge of her toes Hannah’s apprehensiveness just had to rear its ugly face, with Hannah’s body stopping as she slowly began to retreat from Akko.

Not if I have anything to say about that! Akko would think to herself as she hugged Hannah, making the latter freeze as the former pulled her closer. Their lips connected naturally and finally gave each other the kiss they both wanted. Hannah would soon hug back. The two for a moment in the bliss of each other’s love.

As they stopped the kiss and gave their respective space back both girls had crimson red blushes on their faces.

“That must’ve been totally sappy huh?” Hannah commented embarrassed.

“Well I love sappy, it’s sweet!” Akko exclaimed. “Really, I appreciate that you let your feelings out like this. I just wish you did it more.”

A small smile would form on Hannah’s face. “Thank you, Akko. I’ll try but you have to know I’ve always been difficult about showing my more tender side. Not to forget I’ve never been in a relationship before.”

“That’s okay, I totally understand.” More than Hannah knew Akko thought almost mischievously. “Don’t worry about it, this is my first time too after all.”

The two shared a laugh, when a realization came to Akko. “Say, if I’m your sun then you must be my moon!”

Now it was Hannah’s turn to show confusion. “What?”

“Well think about it.” Akko let her hands connect with Hannah’s. “At first I thought you were pretty mysterious, especially once I got to know you more. But the further I explored the more fascinated I was by you.”

“Blemishes and all?” Hannah quietly added, not used to such grand words being used for her.

“Blemishes and all! Because I learned to love you for what you are and what you are up close.” A giggle. “It’s ironic, just like the moon it looked like were so far apart. But in reality we are so much more closer.”

Hannah’s uncertainty of herself had turned to a small smile by the time Akko pecked a kiss on her cheek, listening with precision towards every word of Akko.

“And if we go back to my sun comparison I’m even happier to hear I can help you along the way. To show how great you can truly be, not to forget how much you shine when all the lights are down and my focus is on you.” Akko’s tone quieted. “You help me stay in balance too, I know I can be a bit zany so it’s good to have someone out there who helps me stay on the ground without holding me back from who I am. I really appreciate it.”

This time it was Akko’s turn to be surprised as Hannah pulled her into a hug. “No, we balance each other.” She rested her face on Akko’s shoulder, who soon did the same with Hannah’s as her smile became greater.

“So…what did you think of my little observation?” Akko laughed.

“It was sappy, but beautiful.” Hannah smiled cheekily. A laugh left her as Akko playfully hit her.

“Well hey, I was using you as inspiration!”

Almost suspiciously conveniently so the couple noticed sundown had begun while on the other side of the earth the moon slowly began to appear from under.

“Oh seriously?” Hannah commented with squinted eyes. “What is this, some fairy tale?”

Her slight annoyance disappeared as she felt Akko using her as support for her back, her eyes turned to the moon. A lovely sigh left Akko’s lips, like she took Hannah’s words completely seriously.

Hannah couldn’t help but mirror Akko, their backs soon holding the other up as one stared at the rising moon and one at the falling sun. Even if they had to look away or blink a few times. But that just meant they could look at the one right behind them.

A fairy tale come true. Hannah thought to herself with a smile. Sappy, but just like the sun, the moon and most important of all, her girlfriend - perfect.

"Allow me time to process this, please." Diana rubbed the bridge of her nose in frustration.

"Sure, sure~" Barbara sing-songed, getting up from her crouched position in front of Diana to plop herself next to the baffled woman on their bed.

"You saw this girl-"

"Who was super cute, btw." Hannah added a very important detail.

"Yes, yes. Whatever." Diana waved them off with her hand. She took a deep breath. "You saw her...” Diana took another deep one, preparing herself for the absurd statement about to exit her lips. “-and decided it would be alright to ask her to be in a relationship with you both?!"

Shifting her perplexed glare between her two girlfriends, she clicked her tongue as they simply shrugged in synch, clearly not seeing the problem at all.

"Technically, we invited her to be with the three of us." Hannah, once more, supplied helpfully.

"That's not the point!" Diana's voice squeaked. Wait... The words were registering in her mind. "Actually, that's much worse! She hasn't even met me! I don't even know who she is, or what she looks like!"

"Oh? Is that it? You just need to meet her?" Barbara clapped her hands together, as if she just had a good idea. "Then let's go meet her! We told her to wait for us downstairs and-"

"You what?!"

Without much say in the situation, Diana found herself dragged down the hall, into the longest elevator ride she'd ever had, by her two girlfriends.

Stepping into the lobby, Diana felt her hands released as the two pranced their way over to an unsuspecting brunette seated with her back to them.

Hmm? There was something... familiar... about that little ponytail.

"Hi~, sorry for the wait!" Hannah tapped the woman on the shoulder. Said woman stood up, and Diana could tell from her body language that she was somewhat nervous.

Who wouldn't be?

Why she hadn't even rejected the two straight up after their bold question, was more of what confused Diana.

"I-it's no problem." She murmured.

Diana could have sworn she'd heard that voice before.

"So? Who did you want to introduce to me?"

"Oh!" Barbara waltzed over back to her side, pushing Diana forward towards their new "friend".

Diana went stiff as the other two girls turned to face her, recognition registering in her blue eyes, and noticeably in her new companion's as well.

Hannah puffed her chest up in pride, arms gesturing in Diana's direction. "Meet our other girlfriend! Her name is-"

"...M-Miss Cavendish..."

"...Miss Kagari."

Well this was awkward.
