I don’t really like Vivzi for a variety of reasons (wether or not she is controversial). But out of the four episodes of Hazbin Hotel that we got so far, I think that Husk is the most interesting character among the cast.

Excuse me while I ramble about him for a moment…

Presumably being one of the oldest of the cast, he is an ex overlord, being forced to sell his soul so he could still have at least some power. As well, he has both a gambling and alcohol addiction (whether or not he uses them to cope is unclear).

But what really sets him apart from the cast to me is the fact that he is able to read people extremely well, which makes sense given the fact that he’s a bartender and people spew their feelings out in a drunken rage at him, and the fact that he’s a gambler so he needs to be able to read people in order to win.

Husk is just so interesting so far, and I’m very curious what’s gonna happen with him throughout the show.

Man the way falin is associated w birds bc of marcilles first experiance of death being her pet bird a cockatoo. She even has the blonde crest as a chimera. Bc her spell made falin part of the dungeon and the dungeon feeds off the desire of the ppl in it falin looks like a bird even tho shes a dragon. Anyway since they're apparently not going to go with the "Steph leading/babysitting a team of young heroes" book idea (pause for despair) I'd like to pitch MY idea for Steph: Steph gets back into playing piano (she already started doing so in Batgirls #18!) and ends up taking on a mystery related to the basement rock scene in Gotham (I know the underground concert game there is INSANE absolutely prime serial killer territory)

I go by she/her because that's what I'm used to, but gender isn't really something that important or meaningful to me personally. I use they/them when referring to myself, but I have no problem with others using any other pronouns (though I'm not used to neopronouns, so perhaps not those).

... not to be annoying or whatever but I hate the take that Rick loved Diane more than Beth as the reason why we never see another Diane vs living with Beth ... because the love for a significant other and the love for a child is and should be different. The way I see it, obviously Rick loves his Diane and Beth a lot but his relationship to Diane as a husband is a deeply personal one that is specific only to that particular Diane. They have a history: dating, marriage, sharing a child, etc. Rick's feelings to and experiences with that particular Diane wouldn't be the same with any other (even if they share similarities). It's the same reason why he stated that he wouldn't just replace Birdperson ---  they both have specific ties to him that wouldn't be the same as is often true with a love interest (often times shared personal experiences increase those bonds). 

Another Diane could be dead, or remarried, or not into him, or just not the same. A different Diane is not necessarily the same as this Rick's wife.

In contrast, Rick's relationship to his original Beth was still relatively new in comparison to other relationships (i.e. Diane) since she died as a young child. However, (whether she likes it or not) Beth is ALWAYS Rick Sanchez's daughter. Since, their rapport isn't as strong it is easier for Rick to attempt to assimilate into another Beth's life. It is an objective truth that Rick is Beth's father, and thus it is the relationship that is easier to 'replace'. But that doesn't mean that he loves one more than the other as there are incomparable relationships. 

Rick's love for his wife is tied to HIS wife specifically and his love for his daughter is tied to her identity as his daughter which is a constant. Both is equally good and valid.

Random manga rec: Interviews with Monster Girls

Hey y’all, this is exactly what it says on the tin.

My icon is from a manga called Interviews with Monster Girls, which is a fairly short slice-of-life manga about a high school teacher in a world where figures from various world mythologies are actually real.

There are vampires, dullahans, snow women, succubi and incubi, oh my!

The title isn’t a euphemism - it’s literally about helping these monster girls (demi-humans or ‘demis’ as they’re called in the manga) to fit in and to share their stories to the world at large. It explores how things like “not having your head attached to your body” would impact your day-to-day life, how difficult it would be to eat or carry bags while dealing with that. It speaks to my experience as a student with a mental illness, and how I felt different from my peers in a way that was difficult to express.

There’s no over-the-top drama, it’s very heartwarming and sweet. The teacher doing the eponymous interviews is super understanding of everyone’s unique perspectives and is always supportive of the students.

There is a romance sub-plot, but it’s between two of the teachers and examines with a truly critical lens how being a succubus would make it difficult to form attachments with others. It’s a slow burn, and so cute!!

Anyways, this is all to say that you all should go read Interviews with Monster Girls. It’s got 11 volumes and they’re all out now. It’s got an anime, but I don’t think that anime ever reached the end?

#there is also a brief storyline where one of the students has a crush on the teacher #but as soon as he learns about it he gently puts her down #it’s the classic ‘someone respects me BECAUSE of who I am not despite it! is this feeling LOVE?!?’ thing #it made me a bit uncomfortable but they took it in such a good direction #there’s also a storyline where they discover that maybe just maybe it would be possible #for the dullahan’s head to be temporarily reattached to her body #so she can ‘live normally’ #she tries it and decides nah she actually prefers it not being attached #it’s her normal and it’s what she’s used to and it’s her identity #interviews with monster girls #original oat

alright!! my muse lists have been updated if you want to take a peek. i did some rearranging so that most kny muses are now tertiary and unavailable for new dynamics. the only current exception is kaiya bc i have a jjk verse figured out for her, and i'm in the process of brainstorming an original verse ( maybe related to the dorverold lore ) -- i just have to choose what will be her main verse in the end.

muses who were completely removed are: chinatsu, sei, zenitsu, tamako, arata, akane, makiko, naoki, and paige. a reminder that if we have established dynamics that we developed, i will continue to write these characters for you!! but the fact is that most of these dorks hardly ever get picked up bc i have little inspiration or they aren't requested, so it's time to retire them for now.

i've kept ky.ojuro, ka.igaku, te.ngen, and su.ma simply bc they're dear to me and i love the few dynamics i do have with them, and hyouka and satsuki will slowly but surely be reworked for jjk, i'm thinking. i've already done most of the work for hyouka since she's got a verse already. and while he isn't on the list yet bc his bio is a wip, kojirou will be officially added over time. you're free to request him/ask about him until then bc i know i'll probably be slow to get his bio done.

It's super cute to watch them play because Forte frequently slows himself down to match her speed and waits for her to rejoin the game when she stops to hunt for stray kibble. She in turn is very tolerant of him being a gross/super sniffy boy.
