FINALLY! DOLLYA CONCEPT

I'll have a little look back and remember how I came up with this current Sona design. The me of 2021 definitely would look at this and go "WTF???". When I search and place old drawings side by side for comparison, It's really been a process of changing my perspective on myself and constantly finding what I want.

It'll be very random and full of my old drawings, so if you don't mind a little rambling, welcome to go under the cut and go back in time with me!

Let's start with this design. As you can clearly see it was based on how I actually look irl, from the outfit, hairstyle to make-up.

Tbf this was not my first attempt to create a Sona, but it was a huge milestone because it's 2018, the year I got into my dream Art university and left home. My style completely changed, and this Sona showed it perfectly.

I drew this with my fingers, on my broken phone, to enter a Vietnamese clothes design competition, where we modernized some traditional clothes. What I did here is a modernized Nhật Bình. I won and got my design made into real clothes and sent to me. I'm still proud of it to this day XD

It was fun! I draw her almost daily, like how I do with Lya and Lyah in this blog. I used her to make friends with other artists. I even created a gender-bent version for her : D

But the uni life was stressful, especially when I entered my third year and tried to escape my parents' grasp. They were furious and threatened me, I started working extra and do commission to pay for my own living and rent, lessons were hard, and homework and projects were pilling,... As a result, I often use my sona to stress draw.

It didn't help much, my anxieties and insecurities kept adding to the molten fire inside me, and my overthinking got worse day by day.

But then at some point, I decided to separate myself from that sona. She turned into one of my many OCs, maybe more special but I no longer see my entire self in her anymore.

I have to thank my two besties for that. They pulled me out of my darkest moments and stayed with me. They remain to be my only two most important people in this whole world.

I started to "reuse" the sona appearance into creating many other OCs for many other fandoms I joined (Cookierun, HnK, FGO, KnY, Genshin,...). I had fun jumping between different styles lol.

The idea for the current design started to take shape when one day I drew her wearing a white delicate dress (I usually just do red) and a see-through sleep dress I just bought.

Something started clicking.

Then I became an assistant for an Ero Artist. Yup. I started to be exposed to more "sexy" character designs and tbh I just love those. I love drawing female characters already, but there's something something about cute and sexy girls in lingerie... If you know what I mean.

The design slowly became clearer. Cute and pristine-white, see-through lingerie, with little four petals flowers, and little bows, perfect.

The details still varied. They depended on the style I was using or my mood, whether I wanted to go into details or not. That's the fun of drawing your own design, let's keep it.

And here we are~ Maybe it's still not final, but I'm happy with it, and that's enough for me now!

Most of the time the art will just be a sketch, but depending on how much time I have or how inspired I am at the moment, I might add some color. I'm bored and still grieving over the loss of a new episode so have some sbg hc's:

-Taylor and Tyler get way too competitive with eachother if they get put against eachother

-Aiden and Taylor always meet up together to play video games or to watch Disney movies

-Logan likes to talk about his interest to Ben who always just happily listens to him

-Ashlyn knows so many secrets about everyone just from her hearing

-I think Aiden, Ben and Logan would all love musicals, Logan's favourite would be Hamilton, Ben's favourite would be Wicked and Aiden's favourite would be legally blonde.

-Aiden has depression and only Ben knows about it and how bad it truly gets

-I think Ben and Aiden would draw things together. Ben would do it to help control his anger and Aiden would do it because he enjoys art

-Idk why but I like to think in the future Aiden goes to an art college and does animation for a living

-Tyler and Taylor got into sports because their dad loved it, but now they carry on doing it in memory of him and so that they can get a scholarship to not put any stress on their mum

-When at home Aiden would cry at videos of solders coming home to their pets

-The group surprised Ashlyn at her ballet classes multiple times causing her to get surprised and trip

-After Aiden's death Ashlyn stayed close to him during any movie nights

-All of them have nightmares, but they aren't as bad when they're all together

-Aiden has insomnia and always wakes Ben up by making too muc noise in the kitchen

-Because of Aiden's insomnia he sometimes has hallucinations from the lack of sleep. So sometimes he will just see a phantom in the corner of his room and Ben has to help calm him down

-Taylor loves stuff animals and managed to convince Tyler to get matching ones with her

-Aiden is either really clumsy or well balanced it just depends on the day (lol same)

-Aiden has multiple cabinets filled with different colours or hair dye

-Logan saw Aiden's roots grow out and decided to ask him about it and then they both dyed their hair together

-Ben always has a first aid kit in the house for when Aiden hurts himself (sometimes on purpose sometimes not)

-Whenever Ashlyn and her parents play monopoly they all get really competitive

-Aiden would play stardew Valley (he would try and date Sebastian)

-Ben knows sign language but doesn't use it that much

-Ashlyn also knows sign language for whenever she goes non-verbal

im so sorry it took me so long to answer these oml but YES i'd be happy to show how i draw and color :)

— SKETCHING

please note that i almost always sketch traditionally first lol it's just a lot easier for me to determine how the drawing is placed that way, but i always go over and re-sketch it digitally

for magolor i always start with a basic egg shape (lmao) and then i add his ears. then I draw the scarf; it's easy to determine the shape and dynamicism based on where the bottoms of the ears are located

then i usually add the cape and hood together. where and how these are placed and what these look like in general are very important because they're the main area that perspective is directed to (the ears and everything else is important too ofc!! but the hood and cape usually help demonstrate where he is looking and how he is moving the most). then i add everything else, usually his hands last!

— LINEART

ohhhhhh god my worst enemy. Hope youre sitting down because this will be embarrassing LMAO

lineart is easily what i struggle with most and is more often than not the most time consuming and grating step for me. If i had a choice i would drop it in a heartbeat, but my style is so dependent on thick lines and shapes that it's difficult to 😭 a hole i dug myself into unfortunately ITS FINE THOUGH. ANYWAYS I'm getting sidetracked

i use my finger to draw all my digital art, which means i usually have to use a Heavy stabilizer to avoid shakiness and staggered lines. Unfortunately ibis paint's stabilizer is actually dog water and doesn't even stabilize more than half the time (in which case i have to repeat lines over. And over. And over again until i get it right) but when it does like me and works properly it's very helpful!

i always use the soft school pen bleed brush as my main tool for lineart. This brush has been my best friend for everything, i even use it for sketching idk it just really like the way it looks lol. sometimes i change the aspect if i want the lines to look more ,, chalky?? or smoother depending on the work

i don't really use this tool much but for this specific piece, force fade was my partner in crime

also i think i need to mention that i use so many layers for this. So many layers lol like to the point it's embarrassing. and at the end i merge most of them (except for the gear patterns, rings on his ear, and eyes + hands, which usually need to be by themselves as they're colored separately) Thank you for layers

and i end up with this!

— COLORING && SHADING

yippee yahoo the fun part !!! the part that i love the most

at this point, if i havent already, i always create a folder for convenience in organization because this is the part that i stress the most about what details are on which layers lmao

then i add ANOTHER layer below that for the color, then i put every single color used on their own separate layer!

now, for shading, if im working on larger pieces with more complex shading, i'll usually plan it all out. normally when just drawing magolor, i don't really need to do this anymore because i'm so used to it lol, but for funsies i did it here anyways

then i use the bucket tool to fill them all in

i usually have a set color palette for all the characters i draw (though the way i shade white differs. A lot between my work as you can probably tell fhdfgf). For every color, i have two specific tones that are associated with the shading. for example, indigo + violet are shaded with my blue, pink + light orange (or lighter pink depending on my mood lol) are shaded with yellow, etc.

so, i shade the other areas with the 2nd shading color

a big tip i can give for coloring is to look at a color wheel when you draw. i know that sounds like. Such basic advice LMAO but that seriously was a huge help for me when developing my shading and something i learned while studying — if you notice, in all of the shading in my work, all of the colors used are analogous on the color wheel. note that not ALL combinations will work together like others obv !! but it's a huge step in knowing where to go with it

then i add other extra details like extra lighting, halftones (if i feel like it // if it fits the work), glow to his eyes, and color the lines and ta-da!

another tool i use a lot especially with my more recent art are blending modes, especially multiply. i use a clipping layer to add a dark color (usually a dark blue or purple) and set it to multiply, then erase the areas that emit light

and this is the end result! this is a very very basic demonstration of it fhdjg i was a pretty messy with the lighting and erasing in this example but you get the general idea right

and that's how i draw :) i hope this was helpful, and thanks for asking and being so patient with the response!

Winner Gijinka redesign! I like to think they swap between the skirt and pants depending on the challenge.

Uh I don’t know why I thought their old design was ever okay to bestow on human eyes!

Cut below the entire design process (it’s gonna be long)

So I knew immediately after finishing my Loser design I wanted Winner to be the opposite of Loser. Which ment no warm colors, no vest sleeveless thing, no sunglasses, esc. I wanted them to be 80s inspired to match my Loser’s 70s Inspiration! I wanted them to parallel Loser by being so different but the same at the same time. So I wanted to do alot.

I think very clearly with the first ever winner draft (on the right) I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS DOING LOL. I really don’t like it now looking back and it really doesn’t feel like Winner to me. I think just to show how old this is, this was before I even made established age headcanons so I also had no idea how older I wanted Winner to be.

That age headcanon list will probably be shown at another time, I think I showed it once on instagram after somebody asked.

The one on the left I did right after I finished my Loser design and oh my god I also really hate it looking back. I had this idea that Winner’s hair could be the opposite of Loser’s hair where instead of being from like brown to blond and lighter blond it would be the opposite and oh it looked horrible to me.😭

I think also at this point Winner was still just black and not biracial

Now here are what I would call my “Stuck in design hell”. Characters I struggle with immensely when creating a design I think fits/I personally also like for them. It doesn’t mean I have no ideas, some of them I know exactly what I want to do with them but can’t figure out how to emulate it. I ended up abandoning Winner for awhile because they were giving me so many problems because I set so many restrictions for myself which weren’t exactly working.

So then we got this.. I tried to force myself to finalize their design on the spot… bad idea.. worse idea I could ever fathom. I don’t like any of these designs and plus the way I draw now has changed since I made these designs. I had an idea that Winner’s arm could also be translated as one of those super cool arm grabber toys from the 80s which I don’t know, maybe I’ll bring back?? Depends on how I feel about it after focusing on writing more Winner central stories and exploring Winner more as a character and talking to people who really like Winner.

I should also note the inspo for Winner in the fluffy coat and overalls came from the fact that when I was in the movie theater, I saw a kid wearing black overalls and periwinkle jacket and went “HOLY SHIT WINNER TPOT.”

Somewhat unrelated but in this design Winner also became Biracial because @/exitstudent was like “Oh Winner feels afro-Latino to me” so I changed my headcanon almost immediately. This is why I probably shouldn’t have put my race hc chart out so early because my opinions get swayed so easily PLUS I changed a few things around. (Nothing to major, Snowball and Spongey are Wasian now, Donut is Dutch, put Bomby back in Blasian, Gaty is Finnish)

I also had the idea that instead of Winner having highlights (because I highly doubt Winner would go out of their way to highlight their hair) their greying really early on due to stress and poor genetics probably. Another cool parallel to Loser about how Loser’s hair is something he essentially paid for Winner in a way earned theirs. Loser also bleaching pretty much all their hair would also be a cool symbolism for how he’s not the truest to himself while Winner’s still having almost all their natural hair color is symbolism for them being way more true to themself. But that’s for another day to explore.

I tried to interpret Winner’s shape as being kind of like fuzzy fleece on their jacket and I tried to make this work so bad but I really shouldn’t have. I was just all over the place with the colors too.

After design a bunch of the other characters and finding and discovering new ways i like drawing i quickly figured out why I was hating Winner so badly.

It was everything 😭

So after actually after researching 80s fashion instead of half assing it to make it obvious. I drew up these two concepts.

My first realization was “Wow that fleece is ugly as shit.” So I realized I had to stop trying making the fleece work, kudos to anyone who can. But away from the negatives, I really did love the big black Jacket and the legwarmers (I am a sucker for leg warmers so once I put them in them, it was over for me) Something about the headband also struck me because previously I out a strict “no head accessories rule” but honestly? It really just had to be not sunglasses so the headband stayed.

With some color rework and some help from my qpp (Shout out to her, she doesn’t use social media.) We were finally able to get the current design shown!

I guess if I learned anything from this, people should make gijinkas also based off people they know and see in day to day life. Some of my favorite gijinkas are based off people I know. Like Match being an Afro-Chilean Jew is because my friend who actually introduced me to BFDI was a huge match fan, and an Afro-Chilean Jew so I was inspired to make Match look almost identical to them. With Winner I pulled inspiration from alot of popular Black celebrities in the 80s and Chile again because of said friend 80s.

it kinda just occurred to me how much i have going on in my life

like it doesn't seem like MUCH but it's a lot considering how much time it takes up.

i coded today for maybe 5hrs and got 160 lines done, which a CHAPTER has around 2000-8000 per chapter. 🤷‍♀️

publishing depends on my mood, although it has been messed up for the last month but i used to publish once everyday, but since it's changed i've been stressed out.

editing can be time consuming, and depending on if it's a transition edit or just shakes and whatnot it can take between 15 minutes to an hour and a half, and it's hard finding the motivation lol.

spamton and addison headcanon post ^^

i saw one of my moots do this and i have many headcanons for mine so i thought id also post mine :D

(small sidenote a lot of these i stole borrowed from other creators and fics and stuff so i will highlight the unoriginal ones and put a key at the bottom)

addisons are 3d models so they can do stuff like glitch out and clip into walls n whatnot (but it only really happens when somethings wrong which is why spamtons is so much worse)

spamton can pop his jaw and limps in and out of place like a doll (also bjd body if that wasnt obvious)

spamton is eerily good at piano - he learnt it during his big shot era

addison hands are kinda like mitts which they can split into fingers if needed. also they can split into claws for self defence if one is in danger

spamtons ad speech and glitchiness get worse when hes stressed :c

spamton pretty much always speaks super energetically, like minecraft youtuber style

spamtons skin is made of plastic but normal addison skin is not. this also means spamton doesnt have the same thing where his hands arent mitt like which he can split into fingers theyre just always hand

addisons are luminescent but spamton isnt bc puppet

spamton (and jevil) can both speak wingdings

spamtons always had the pipis but they havent always looked like pipis. they used to look like a little red notification dot and the number on the dot would show how much damage it would do

all addisons just have black eyes (sometimes theyre lines and sometimes not depends if i can be arsed to draw proper eyes lol) but spamtons are a bright blue from the shadow crystal incident. if you look closely enough you can see a sun and clouds

also he doesnt have very good vision and without his glasses his eyes will feel like theyre burning

i believe in puppetification theory more than acid theory but i think that the acid is still harmful to addisons. if it comes in contact with their skin it can cause rashes/burning (like a bad sunburn) and if they swallow it it can make them ill or glitchy. if they swallow too much than it can cause irreversible code corruption, which is the main reason why spamton is so glitchy (but mike still caused a lot of the speech thing, its just the physical glitching caused by the acid)

spamton is super agile and sneaky like a cat (i mean no one found him for years in cyber city which isnt a massive place so it makes sense)

can mimic voices really well but in the bracketed speech. basically he can record voices

Ace looks very good; Jamil does unimaginable things to my psyche, I can’t quite put it into words. I think the colour scheme of the new outfits suits him the most, but I might just be biased.

YES this is basically how we write Sebek/Idia LOL But also Azul/Idia to be honest, these two argue and get annoyed with each other a lot…

This is one of our favourite tropes in general, and with Idia it suits him to perfectly lol He always ends up verbally sparring with someone and getting someone heated over the argument, it’s like he’s begging for it (absolutely unintentionally though).

I think I talked about it in one of our previous LiliSil posts, but I’ll reiterate: in theory, Lilia would absolutely encourage Silver to spend time with someone else, even if this is just a little high school fling and not something serious. He does want Silver to socialise more and to have a lot of people around him, because unfortunately Lilia won’t be around forever, and he isn’t cruel to the point of wanting Silver to be loyal to him even after his death. That would just ruin the young one’s life forever, wouldn’t that be a waste?

But in actuality, I think Lilia would still get somewhat jealous and possessive if Silver found someone for himself. Lilia might try to rationalise it by thinking that he just doesn’t want any rascal to hurt Silver’s feelings, he might even enjoy acting like a strict dad for a short while, but he’ll very soon realise that he is just being super jealous and doesn’t want to share Silver with anyone lol It might be easier for him is Silver starts dating Sebek, at least Sebek knows his place… in Lilia’s eyes, at least.

Honestly, I wonder how these two would interact. The easiest thing would be to assume that they’ll just sit in their own corners doing their own thing because neither of them is particularly chatty. Also, at first it seems like despite their similarities, they are the opposites of each other, because of the whole arts vs tech thing… but in actuality, Idia is one of the most artistic people in NRC?? With good taste and outside-the-box creative thinking?? Considering how much he loves a good design and how even Vil praised the ceremonial gear he made for Ortho. As someone who likes anime and stuff, he is definitely a connoisseur of art lol

So yeah, it’d be funny to think about them getting weird vibes from each other from the start, maybe seeing some of their own “bad” qualities and being annoyed by them, getting weird uncanny-valley feeling, but ultimately ending up creating something together. I just want them to create something together…

Although…both of them are such individualists, they might have creative disagreements and do their own things separately from each other. God damn it boys you were supposed to have fun interactions!

answered HERE but alsoooooo i can definitely think of something else :)

i LOVE writing her dialogue LMAOO. her whole gimmick is that she acts wayyyyy older than she actually is, and when i say that i mean she truly acts like an old man. she is a very slow talker a mover and figuring out how to write for her has been lots and lots of fun !!!!

she uses a lot of ellipses... and always drags on a sentence if it is possible. she never uses exclamation points if she can help it... because she tries not to raise her voice... and typically doesn't get excited or emotive about many things. she trails off a lot, either on a tangent about a sailing story or simply because she has lost focus... and includes a quote from her afi or from a writer that can shed wisdom on the situation. everything is a lesson to be learned, you see... she also tends to repeat herself at the end of the sentence, she does. it's either "you see" or some variation of "i do/i am", depending on what was said... and of course she always refers to her boats and the ocean using she/her. laughs like an old man too, eheheh... always keeps the mood light

but, uh, when she gets flustered she uses "um" and "uh" a lot. especially when backed into a corner. sounds a lot less wise. her sentences get shorter when she's upset. real short. she tends-- you see, she tends to stutter a lot more when she is stressed, or in a tense mood. corrects herself, or-- sometimes, she cuts herself off before she says anything too harsh. her tone grows a lot more "childish", and she wants to sound like she knows what she is doing. won't raise her tone. just gets rather blunt with you.

unless she gets very irritated. because then she starts to emphasize certain words to you in an almost condescending manner, and-- and she still might stutter over her words because she is thinking less about them, but they are all flowing out of her mouth at this point. and if you push her too far she'll start yelling! exclamation point! it is rare to get an exclamation point from her! if you push her hard enough she'll scream! she'll fucking yell!!

but yea anyways she's been fun GHFDJKG

SOOOOOOOOO sae as of right now is being used in a killing game rp which means i get to write for her pretty oftennnnn :) she gets to hang out with a whole cast of awesome characters that are both amazing and stressing her out so badly. as hell. it is chapter 2 currently (we're at the motive!!) and literally every single thing is going wrong (the motive concerns her family and of course her afi was threatened bc thats all shes got, her plan to escape failed miserably and shes starting to resent people with very little reason, somebody in the killing game knows JUST WHAT TO SAY to seriously push her buttons) but she'll persevere 😍 she'll persevere and get so much worse

i loveee the rp server bc the people there love to write fics and draw art of their own AND each others characters and i eat it up every single time. me included i love creating for these rps :) which MEANS i actually do draw and write for her a bit often!! now a lot of it is practice and/or doesn't get sent to the server lmfaooo i think the last fic i wrote for her (and finished-- i keep starting things and stopping 😔) was a backstory fic for her about that one bad memory i mentioned in the last ask :) a single person has read it and that is the person running the rp in the first place ghfdjkg

Thank you so much for the nice comments! I do have some headcanons! Maybe they're a little bit smaller than you imagined but ╮(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)╭ (check the end of the post for the answer to the fic question <3)

— They play fight a lot, however Wedge probably weights the double Hotshot does (according to their alt modes irl) so he tends to win each time, Hotshot will tap out quickly, but he WILL pounce back again when Wedge has his back turned lol

— Hotshot passes a lot of notes to Wedge during class since their desks are right next to eachother, Wedge tries not to indulge him into getting him distracted, but sometimes he opens them and it's a very silly drawing of them or their professors.

— Hotshot shows love through physical affection, it varies a lot: it goes from rolling Wedge's shoulder wheels before a mission to full on dragging him for a nap together after a busy day.

— Wedge shows love through words of affirmation: Hotshot is feeling down? He is there to offer some words of appreciation, I mean if there's anything that makes Hotshot happy it is praising!

— Wedge has night terrors occasionally, Hotshot takes it upon himself to do anticipatory awakening, he wakes Wedge about 15 minutes before his night terrors usually begin and they spend time together in the conversation pit before Wedge feels like he can enter his pod again.

— Their little duo racing stunt they have? Yeah, the team teases them a lot about it.

—They also made bets for fun

"Whirl... I kissed Hotshot"

"Wow... Hoist owes me so much money-"

— They both love to watch earth's action movies together (Fast and Furious has to be one of their favorites) they definetly play pretend the plots of the movies not long after (Yeah, we are not gonna ignore how Wedge makes costumes for himself)

— They've been both banned from a park, they both refuse to tell what caused them to get banned in the first place (they accidentally knocked over a tree, roots and everything, they're both very ashamed)

— Wedge likes to make tunnels, Hotshot finds the entrance to one and gets lost immediately, Wedge flips out when he goes in and something grabs his foot. He ends up kicking Hotshot in the face, but hey! At least he got out.

— When they get older Wedge asks Heatwave himself for permission to court Hotshot since he is the closest Hotshot ever had to a parental figure (this doesn't mean he wasn't nervous at the time, he very much was) he's a very traditional bot when it comes to this stuff.

— Will they take the place as mentors one day? Who knows, but do not let any recruits in need of a parental figure near them THEY WILL LATCH ONTO THEM AND CLAIM THEM AS PARENTAL FIGURES.

— Hotshot would be chill about it probably (*coughs*he did the same with Heatwave*coughs*) but Wedge will shed a tear perhaps, he would get flashbacks when he was taken in by Optimus.

— They end up leading the team together in the future; Hotshot provides responsibility & dependability: he gets his team over the finishing line before himself, and Wedge provides strategic & critical thinking: He is good at making decisions even under heavy stress.

I can think of those for now! I was very unprepared for someone asking me these but I tried to think of every little thing I thought about them !!

As for the fic! I am writing one right now! It's a tiny one-shot, hurt/comfort fluff, something nice to add to the tag! I'm working hard on it and I hope I can get it out before I start my senior year!

Can't think of one rn😭 The first one that came to mind is Venmadhi Venmadhi from Minnale because some guy was playing that on the bus yesterday. I think it's a lovely song, especially the third verse :)

I don't really swear in Tamil😂 I only use words like stupid/wastrel/dog/buffalo... y'know the most common ones lol

But, again, the first swear word that came to mind is *looks around to make sure no one's listening* "watha" - which is basically the Tamil equivalent of fuck - because one of my friends called another friend that this morning lmao

13. Does your country (or family) have any specific superstitions ot traditions that might seem strange to outsiders?

Well there's so many but i generally think that doing rituals/ chanting slokas or vedas must be very strange to outsiders who aren't really used to that! Imagine being a white christian and you encounter a yagna happening with a giant fire, lots of huge shirtless men saying very weird words in their blaring voice, adding all kinds of different things into the fire, while surrounding people watched on... I'd be terrified 😂💀

15. A saying, joke, or hermetic meme that only people from your country will get?

Gosh I speak so many dialects - depending on who I'm talking with. There's what I consider the normal one, there's the one mixed with random English sentences😂, there's the local chennai dialect for when I'm dealing with/in public or local vendors💀, there's the tambrahm (wow it feels weird to say it like that) dialect because that's what I was raised on in mum's side of the family

19. Do you like your country's flag and/or emblem? What about the national anthem?

I've honestly never thought about this before...

Flag - 🇮🇳 It's a good one, I like what it stands for. But no one would forget the struggle it would take when you were 6 years old and were asked to draw the national flag and you wouldn't remember how many spokes are there in the ashoka chakra😭 or even if you remembered, you wouldn't know how to divide them evenly throughout the circle... So much stress. 7/10

Emblem - it's a bit complex if you ask me but eh. It looks cool i guess. I like the phrase 'satyameva jayathe' ("truth alone triumphs" in Sanskrit) so there's that :p 5/10

National Anthem - I love it!! I like the picture it paints, listing out all those places! Only criticism is that it was very difficult for younger abi to sing the beginning because it was so very low and i struggled for a long time😅 9/10

We went to Mysore one time and had some sambar and do you know what happened, cal? My cousin threw up, that's what happened.

(it was because of the long uphill travel but the sambar definitely contributed :p)

What you lack in sambar, you make up for it with Udupi rasam so. I forgive you😤

Achaeans

Sketches of some Achaeans from the Trojan War. This is a mix of based on real sources and headcanons and all of these designs are certainly subject to change.

[The heights are in meters because I can't understand this system of feet and inches, not even if my life depended on me understanding it lol]

I'm still terrible at drawing fingers (whether feet or hands) and so these sketches don't have any of them well-defined. And yeah, avoiding drawing them makes my chances of progress worse, but in my defense, I just wanted to make a character reference sheet without stressing about it.

Anyway, now I start commenting on the design choices. This is the time for you to leave the post or continue if you wish. If you want to continue, prepare yourself for a long story.

Drawing Menelaus and Agamemnon first because I need them ready to get an idea of the genealogy of the Atreides, but the next ones will probably be Ajax (the greater) and Teucer because I also need them in the genealogy of the Aeacids. I intend to do Odysseus and Diomedes too, but I feel like they will be the last (Diomedes the lastest of all because I still need Odysseus to match Penelope and thus have an idea of how to draw Telemachus). And Antilochus is there simply because I like him, so I already designed him.

ABOUT SCARS: don't try to find a reason for all the scars. I admit: they were invented simply because I found it ???? to look at a bunch of warriors without a single scar on their bodies. These are designs supposed to take place before the events of The Iliad. It may still be in the tenth year of the war, but it is certainly before the events of the Iliad. So no scars were made with the intention of matching the wounds described in The Iliad. Maybe I'll even increase the amount of scars, but we'll see.

As for Achilles, I'm not taking into account the version of the myth where he's invulnerable, I just have the headcanon that some demigods have improved healing. So he was injured, probably had to stay away from some fights because of this like the others and everything, but his healing stopped him from leaving scars. But yeah, it can also be explained if you prefer to consider the version of the myth where he's invulnerable.

Characters (in order from tallest to shortest )

ACHILLES: muscular, agile type because he is very reaffirmed by speed above all else. The colors, shape of the eyes, and volume of the hair were to allude to a lion, as he is often compared to one. As for the face, I wanted to avoid making it too "masculine" so that it would be believable that a younger version of him (15 years old, probably) could pass for a girl if wearing body-covering clothes and probably a veil.

The sharp canines are not fangs, they are simply sharp canines like I saw an old classmate of mine having and I and I thought it was a cute feature of hers and I wanted to put it in some design (but yeah they are from Tethis!). I imagine that his hair, his nose and the shape of his body (including height) are reminiscent of Thetis (because I love her so much), while the rest is more on the side of Peleus. His hair is long in a very impractical way, so I imagine he has to tie it up before wearing the armor (hence why the obvious difference in hair between him and Patroclus doesn't get in the way of Patroclus pretending to be him)

He's among the youngest and that's important for his character (prophecy), so I wanted to make him look young (I imagine he was around 25 when he died?). He was also kind of inspired by this fresco. I would say that his design remains consistent, it's just the eyes that I change all the time to see if I like the format better.

PATROCLUS: He's older than Achilles, but not by much. So I still made him look young and I imagine he was about 27. His role as someone who was supposed to guide Achilles to take the right actions (which he tried…it just didn't work at the important moment) made me want him to still look at least older than Achilles. He's the same height as Achilles and not too different a body type for it to make sense for the armor to fit him. He has beard because of this iconic kylix. I was also inspired by the description "handsome and powerfully built. His eyes were gray. He was modest, dependable, wise, a man richly endowed" by Dares the Phrygian as it was the only description I remembered of him. He was also kind of inspired by this fresco. The only REAL changes from the previous design I made of him are that he now has a mole and scars (yes, he still tends to tie his hair low.)

MENELAUS: I personally think that Menelaus could benefit from red hair as I saw some people doing, but I decided to go with the traditional representation of him being blonde (but a little red). I like the idea of Helen and him being a tall couple (consequently, their daughter Hermione is too) and him being taller than Agamemnon (because I think the dynamic of the taller brother being the youngest, while the shorter one is the older and more protective brother is funny), that's why he's so tall. I imagine him taking after his mother, while Agamemnon takes after their father. From my calculations, what makes the most sense is that at the end of the Trojan War, he and Agamemnon were AT LEAST forty years old, so my design of the two was based on the idea of them being at least forty years old.

AGAMEMNON: His hair and beard came from here, his body came from here. Although in this mirror his representation shows him more as someone with belly fat, I decided to make it more balanced and make him simply a strong type without being ripped.

Also, considering how in every source I've read so far the guy has multiple kids, I wanted to make his design look somewhat like a father? Anyway, I haven't drawn Clytemnestra yet, but I'll probably follow the same line of reasoning in giving her mother-of-many vibes.

Furthermore, his height was chosen based on Priam saying that he is tall, but not that tall, but that he is taller than Odysseus. I purposely made Menelaus taller because I like the idea of Agamemnon being so protective of him when Menelaus doesn't look defenseless. I haven't drawn other Atreides besides them, but I imagine that Agamemnon looks a lot like Atreus and that Orestes has a face similar to Agamemnon's (hair and colors in general I imagine looking like Clytemnestra). He's AT LEAST 40 years old. I didn't have his design yet.

ANTILOCHUS: The body was the type that could be agile, as its speed is heavily emphasized in the Iliad. Honestly, his facial features were chosen because I didn't want to run the risk of him looking like Achilles, Patroclus, or Menelaus. They're the characters that I imagine Antilochus interacting with mainly and so I didn't want to take any risk in drawing two very similar characters in the same scene (when the characters in question are not related, of course). Menelaus mentions about him being younger, so I went with that for age.

The color choices for hair and eyes came from Nestor, who in turn inherited it from Neleus, who in turn inherited it from Poseidon. For this I have an extensive explanation about how divine genetics works in my drawings, but it's too long and the post is already long enough without it. His height was because I wanted some dynamics with a big height difference (apart from Teucer and Ajax) and considering how tall Patrochilles and Menelaus are, I simply made Antilochus smaller because of them. I didn't have his design yet.

It was that time again. It was one of those days when Taehyung was in a very mischievous mood. He wanted to prank his members and right now he was thinking about who would be the best victim.

Jin? No, he would just complain about Taehyung being annoying.

Yoongi? Definitely not! No explanation needed.

Hobi? Too good at revenge.

Najoon? No, he was already stressed enough.

Jimin? Probably not. He had already pranked Jimin yesterday.

So there was only one left: the maknae Jungkook

Taehyung couldn't resist the temptation as he watched Jungkook sleeping peacefully on the couch. The youngest member of BTS had dozed off after a long day of practicing for their upcoming performance. Taehyung smirked mischievously as he grabbed a pack of colorful markers, his mind buzzing with ideas.

Carefully, Taehyung approached Jungkook with silent steps, making sure not to wake him up. He sat down next to the sleeping maknae and started to draw on his face with the markers. Taehyung drew silly faces, hearts, and even wrote 'Taehyung was here' on Jungkook's forehead.

Once he was satisfied with his work, Taehyung sat back and admired his masterpiece. But he didn't have much time to revel in his triumph as Jungkook stirred in his sleep. Taehyung quickly scrambled away and hid in his room.

Jungkook groggily opened his eyes and rubbed them, still half-asleep. As he got up to stretch, he noticed that something felt off on his face. He walked over to a nearby mirror and froze when he saw the colorful drawings all over his face.

'TAEHYUNG!' Jungkook yelled, turning his head back and forth in search of the culprit. But Taehyung was nowhere to be seen. Jungkook groaned in frustration, knowing that Taehyung had probably hidden.

After cleaning his face, Jungkook plotted his revenge. He had already come up with the perfect revenge plan. As he quietly entered Taehyung's room, he saw his hyung watching something on his phone. Perfect, Jungkook thought.

He sneaked up quietly before jumping on Taehyung with a yell and pushing him into the bed.

"Jungkook - ah what are you doing?" asked Taehyung, trying to sound surprised but having a hard time not laughing.

"I'll take revenge!" Jungkook smiled and showed his bunny teeth.

"For what?" replied Taehyung with a smug grin.

"Hmm, let me think about it…." said Jungkook, making a serious face while pinning Taehyung's arms above his head.

“Then I'll give your memory a little help,” Jungkook said and both lads made their hands like claws as they were inching towards his hyung.

His eyes widened and he started thrashing around like his life was dependent on it.

“Are you okay Tae? You seem scared” the younger one, asked as his hand made contact with the soft skin of his tumy and started clawing there like crazy.

Taehyung immediately started laughing and desperately tried to escape. He hadn't been tickled in a while and had almost forgotten how ticklish he was.

"I was peacefully sleeping in the living room. But then you brat came", Jungkook began the story telling.

"And you drew on my beautiful young face," he continues the story while tickling Taehyung's sides.

“NAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” he only cried in laughter and he was trying to pull his arms down but it was useless. Jungkook was too strong and the tickles make him even weaker.

"That wasn't so nice of you Kim Taehyung!" laughed Jungkook.

“Ihihihi- I am sorryhyhyhy” Taehyung managed to say.

"You really think that a small sorry is enough to get away from my punishment?" Jungkook asked.

"Jungkook - ahaha please," Taehyung begged, giggling.

"Let me think about it….no," the maknae said and started the tickle attack again.

“Naww little Taehyungie is weak for tickles. How cute~” Jungkook cooed at the older wiggling his small but very skilled fingers in the hollows of his underarms leaving a tingly and ticklish sensation at the skin.

“JUNGKOOK - AH ENOHOHOUGH!” V fell into screaming laughter, thrashing around as his sweet spot was being tortured mercilessly.

"No, not yet," Jungkook decided and moved to the older boy's ribs.

"Let's play something", he said with a lovely smile. But for Taehyung he looked like a pure devil in this moment.

"Let's play rib counting," laughed Jungkook.

“NAHAHAHAHAHA KOHOHOHOHOHOKIE NOHOHOHOHO” Taehyung shrieked Taehyung.

But of course the bunny, mean as always, didn't listen to Tae's helpless begging.

"1....2....3....4....5....6", Jungkook counted.

“NOHOHOHOHO KOHOHOHOHOHOKIE I’M REAHAHALLY SOHOHOHOHOHORRY” Taehyung laughed.

"7....8....9....10....11....12. Exactly 12", Jungkook giggled as he finished the tickling finally.

After that, Jungkook placed Taehyung on his lap and put on a movie as they both enjoyed some ramen.

Eventually, his hyung fell asleep while leaning into the bunny, who gave a smile as he thought:

*Maybe I should tickle him more often*

And with that both of them fell asleep.
