So your plan is riding on giving Captain America surprise HRT and then assuming he will be so traumatized and thrown off by it that he, again, CAPTAIN AMERICA will play ball? And not the more likely scenario that the fresh fem-Cap will break your nose with his fists and ask one of the thousand super scientists he knows to try and fix it? Captain America 391

Sick: 6
You’ve been bouncing ideas for a cure off of one another all night. Even while you, Nat and Yelena dig through the dark web to try and see if anyone has posted anything bragging about making this virus, you need to occupy your brain as much as possible. If you don’t you’re afraid you’re going to go into a panic spiral about Steve.
None of the guys are any better, but none are any worse either. Sam’s temperature had spiked for a couple hours but has since dropped back to normal. You have FRIDAY monitoring the rest of the guys to make sure that their temperatures stay down too. Carol had flown Scott in, in his shrunk down suit since it was the easiest and fastest way to get him here. It seems the virus had started on the east coast and was now infecting other big cities. Chicago, Minneapolis, LA, Atlanta and Milwaukee.
You don’t sleep for two days no one seems to notice so you just keep working, keep going, you’re not going to stop until you figure this out. You miss your brothers and you miss Steve, god it’s like you’re missing part of your body.
“Hey.” Wanda says softly drawing your attention from the screen you’ve been staring at. “When did you last sleep?”
“I’m fine.”
“Nox, you cannot lie to me.” She says softly, “you need to sleep.”
“I will when we have a cure.”
“You could sleep next to him. He wouldn’t want you to kill yourself looking for a cure.”
“I’m fine.”
“Please don’t make me force you.” She says softly and you glare over at her. You may not be the best fighter but you can hold your own against Wanda if she plays fair. You have a feeling she won’t be playing fair.
“Fine. Just a few hours.”
“Would you like my help?” You sigh heavily before responding,
“Yes please.” You head back to the room where the guys are, they’re all hooked up and all still unconscious. You gently touch the foot of each man as you pass them, making sure they’re still doing okay, easing any pain.
If physically hurts you to see him like this. It’s like he’s been frozen in the ice again and it breaks your heart.
You climb up onto the bed with him, careful not to pull out any of the things that are monitoring him. Once you’re settled Wanda gently touches your shoulder and you fall into a deep sleep.
You’ll never admit it but when you wake up several hours later you feel almost normal. You kiss Steve on the cheek then gently climb back out of bed. You check on the other guys then wander out of the room to find your friends.
You’re half way down the hallway when a hand reaches out of the lab and grabs your arm. Helen pulls you into the lab “You can’t ask me how I know this or why. You just have to trust that I do.” Helen says wringing her hands, her gaze is darting around the room.
“Uh, okay.” You agree hesitantly.
“I know who made the virus.”
“Who made it?”
“Yea.”
“Okay?”
“Which means I might know how we can stop it. But she’s not going to be easy to find.”
“Who?”
“Dr. Deidre Wentworth. We were roommates in college. She’s part of this group, they call themselves the Femizons. She runs the group and hates men.” Things are starting to fall into place.
“Do you know where to find them?”
“No, but Natasha will.” You nod and turn to leave when she stops you, “Nox?” She says softly and you look over your shoulder at her. “Just please don’t judge me.”
“Is there more Helen?”
“I- No. She wasn’t always like this.” You nod then head out of the room and back to where you’d last seen Natasha.
“Nat? Nat! Are you in here?” Of course she’s not in the room, you turn on your heel and sprint out of the room before stopping suddenly. FRIDAY. “FRIDAY! Where’s Natasha?”
“In the gym Miss.”
“Thank you!” You call before you start to run again. When you burst into the gym Nat freezes, horror is etched onto her face.
“No, nothing, nothing, bad.” You pant and her face relaxes. “Have a, lead.”
“What? How?” She asks excitedly, you gulp down a few more deep breaths and then tell her everything that Helen told you.
“The Femizons are the worst. Because their message is so twisted. They believe in female power and being badass and shit but they also hate men and think they’re superior to them.” She says with a huff, “like I want to support some of their shit but they’re just too extreme and also they wouldn’t have me.”
“Why wouldn’t they have you?”
“Um I kinda beat the shit out of Black Lotus, one of the members. They tried to kidnap me and it didn’t end well for them.” She says with a little shrug and you blink at her in surprise. One of the things you’ve always loved about Natasha is how straightforward she is.
“Helen said you would know where to find them.”
“I know where to start looking.” She says wiping her forehead with a towel. “How are you doing?”
“Feeling more optimistic now that we have a lead.”
“How did Helen figure this one out?”
“I don’t know. She said not to ask how or why she knew but to trust that she did. And I trust her.” Natasha looks thoughtful, “what?”
“I don’t like it but it can slide for now. We have more pressing issues. Finding Femizons is first.” She tells you as the two of you make your way back to the war room.
“We should start looking down south. Usually that’s where they hang out.”
“Okay, what exactly am I looking for?” You ask as you drop into a chair and get comfortable with your laptop on your lap.
“They tend to live in smaller towns, several women together. Not super isolated but isolated enough where they can do shit they don’t want people to know about. Be prepared, this could take a while.”
“Someplace like this?” You ask flipping the computer around to show her.
“Wait, what the hell? How did you find this so fast?”
“I just googled feminist communes.” You tell her with a shrug and she shakes her head in astonishment. “This is them right?” She comes over and looks at the photo. Natasha doesn’t even need to say anything to confirm that it’s the Femizons, you can see it in her eyes.
“See if you can find any other compounds. I’ll start getting a team and a plan together.” She says, “since apparently you’re really good at just googling.” You laugh softly but get to work as Natasha leaves the room. You can’t imagine this group is going to be particularly difficult, you’ve got two Black Widows, a Scarlett Witch who Wanda can now control, a woman with literal alien tech in her veins and yourself. While you’re not quite as deadly as Yelena or Natasha you know how to fight, and you know how to weaponize your powers like Wanda. You’ve never been helpless a day in your life.
After an hour of searching the first couple of Avengers have wandered into the space. Hope has been here for almost the whole hour. She’s been fiddling with some tech on her suit and cursing softly occasionally. Wanda, Kamala, Monica, Carol and Jessica came in as a small group about a half hour ago. You know that Nat and Yelena will be here soon and you’ve found two more compounds that you need to search. Pepper wanders in talking to Jean and Rogue, while the Mighty Thor and Storm chat about their ability to harness lightening. Valkyrie, Yelena, Kate, Gamora, Nebula and Jennifer come in as a noisy group but there’s still no Natasha. Sue comes in with Helen, followed by Shuri, Okoye, America and Doreen who makes a beeline for Kamala who looks like she’s going to explode with excitement. You’ve never seen this many female heroes in one room and it’s honestly overwhelming and amazing. Kitty, Jessica Jones, Felicia, Elektra and Nat come in and when Natasha makes her way to the front of the room. As she passes the room slowly quiets.
“I know there are a lot of questions, but let’s get started. Helen.” She says and Helen stands before clearing her throat.
“We know that the strain of this is only effecting men. It’s something to do with the Y chromosome and it is made by a Dr. Deidre Wentworth. She will have made a cure but she’s either going to be withholding it for ransom or she’s just withholding it for fun.”
“Does this look like fun?” Carol asks gesturing to the tv that’s playing the chaos on mute.
“To Deidre? Yes.”
“Deidre hates men.” Natasha says, “she runs the group the Femizons.”
“Fuck.” Carol says and Natasha nods.
“Um, who are the Femizons?” Kamala asks looking between Natasha and Carol.
“They’re a group of women who live in compounds and hate men. They’ve recruited several super powered women. Titania is one of them.” She says and Jen frowns,
“So they have money.” She says and Natasha nods.
“And other super powered women.”
“And smart women. Deidre isn’t exactly moral but she is smart.” Helen chimes in again.
“So we’re going to need a good plan.” Hope says and Natasha nods.
“How many locations are we looking at?”
“Potentially three.” You say, “FRIDAY share my screen.”

Surprise!  Tony’s in this comic, but perhaps not in the way anyone wants him to be (more on that in a bit).
Alright, so first off, John Walker seems to be the primary POV character for this issue.  He was apparently plucked out of time and space by Tath around Captain America Vol 1 #360 (which maybe I will reach someday).  Anyway, the Caps discuss the differences in this strange new universe where original Cap was never found by the Avengers - instead, the primary two baddies from the previous issue, called Broad-Stripe and Bright Star, join the team and conveniently seem to take care of all the bad guys... and Hawkeye (who is dead as a result in this universe)... and the X-Men... etc.  Meanwhile, the other original heroes end up dead or incapacitated - left-most panel above announces that Tony supposedly has died, while Jan has retired and Hank has had a mental breakdown).
Bucky finds this all very suspicious and proposes that they go investigate all three; John and Tath are selected to check out what’s up with Tony.  In the middle panel above, they visit his crypt and open up his coffin to find his body (which is in surprisingly good condition, though apparently that’s not plot-relevant - and yes, that’s the right-most panel above).  But one thing is weird: while yes, that’s his body, his brain is missing.  :o
Meanwhile, Broad-Stripe and Bright Star get wind of the Caps returning to their universe and try to capture them.
Tumblr media
They’re definitely a thing.  Also, it’s revealed that Broad-Stripe (the one in red) is someone named Deidre Wentworth, who was first introduced in Captain America Vol 1 #387 and wants to eliminate all dudes.  What’s more, she’s revealed to be in possession of Tony’s brain!!
Tumblr media
“Why won’t you let me die”... no Tony... ;_;  Anyway... since he is sadly just a floating brain, Deidre feels free to tell him about her evil plans, which, as it turns out, involves the Cosmic Cube (but called the Tesseract in this universe).  According to her, it supplied the energy for her time-probes (which is probably how she managed to shape this universe), but soon she’ll be doing much more with it.  Tony is upset.

Alright, I’ve gotten back into writing Spider-Man.
I’m scrapping the Wonder Woman x Spider-Man open relationship with Mary Jane X Felicia Open relationship that ultimately culminates into a 4 people polycule where Peter gets pegged, and go for something a bit more simple. So, I’m sorry for the, like, 20 kudos I received on Ao3 over that, and 31 favorites on HF, but that’s abandoned at the moment.
So, new idea...
Amazing Spinnerete, an AU where MJ gets bitten by the spider instead.
(Spider-Woman and Jackpot were already taken and Spider-Girl didn’t sound right to her, as if it was too early for that).
1) Peter, who doesn’t get any powers ever for the entirety of my story (unlike I was planning to do for Mary Jane in the previous one as I piled power after power on her among star sapphire rings, spirits of vengeance, symbiontes, Gamma Radiations and Thor’s hammer), turns into a Sidekick/IT Guy role to her.
2) He’s there to fulfill a purely supporting role to MJ Heroics, craft the webs, be a support to her, all that shebang you’d expect, while getting worried sick over her going out in New York and risking her life daily among villains and criminals and whatnot. He’s the “Nerd behind the computer,” a concept that got admittedly popularized by Oracle, as well as her “field medic” when she gets back home and needs stitching on both the costume and her scars.
3) Also uncle Ben is alive and on a ongoing trip with Aunt Anna and Aunt May around the world. They solve crimes, off screen, like 3 Jessica Fletchers, so Peter isn’t as fucked up emotionally as in canon.
4) I’m gona take from the MC2 and say that, unlike Peter, MJ is actually trying to profit off her image from the start. This might cause some conflicts with Peter over him not wanting them to lucrate on some of their crime fighting (Such as not wanting to patent the web fluid in fear of criminals getting a hold of it), and mixes up with their already canon conflict over her being the main breadwinner in the couple AND the possibility of her doing progressively more risque work.
5) Specifically, I’m gona say it: Spinnerete and Mary Jane have two separate OnlyFans. It’s a modernized story and they are in their mid twenties and need a stable source of income and what better than a horde of people out there paying the same woman TWICE for pics of her buying wonderbread? “Pictures of Spinneret” therefore become a way different phrase, and there is a debate in universe over a superheroine essentially being a sex worker, and all that that entails. I don’t know how well I’m going to explore it tho so this might get dropped after a while and just make her a ASMRtist or a Twitch Streamer, basically the same thing at this point.
6) Since this is a AU I can do like Spider-Gwen did and not just fuck up one piece of the main universe but make every aspect of the universe different, so, bullet list of things I’ve been coming up with that are different from main continuity:
6A) The Hero to Heroine ratio (as well as Villain to Villainess) is 1 hero every 10 heroines. Major (Male, Homo Sapiens) heroes in the setting are: Johnny Storm (Johnny Storm), Thor (Thor Odinson), Power Man (Luke Cage), Iron Man (Rhodey Rhodes), Original Captain America (Steve Rogers).
6B) The mutant community is a massive polycule of free love and shit. The biggest mutant community in the world is stationed in the Free Republic of Genosha, currently part of a worldwide international federation of small nations around the globe born to contrast Soviet and American influences during the cold war called IFMP (International Federation of Micro-Powers). Latveria and Wakanda are part of it, and are the leaders of the two major factions among the delegates in the form of the isolationists (Wakanda) and the Expansionists (Latveria). The second biggest mutant community in the world is in San Diego. most male superheroes and some of their villains happen to be mutants.
6C) Susan Storm lead a year long deep space expedition team financed by the united states government, and managed to contact several alien races in her travels, returning to earth with diplomatic ties and Power Cosmic given to her by Infinity herself as a sign of good will after she and the united armies of space finally managed to slay and destroy “The eldritch abomination at the edge of reality that makes people racist by existing,” as it was called. This starts a age of cooperation between the various alien races and empires out there in the cosmos and Earth, their embassies being built in most of the major nations of the world, trade and science deals cropping up as a result.
6D) Susan Storm later formed the (apolitical, above nations and planets) superhero team the Fantastic Five, which changed members over the years based on relationship with other alien planets and tensions between the members of the team. Current line up consists in Susan Storm (Susan Storm, former Ms. Fantastic), super partes leader due to the Power Cosmic, alongside Lyja the Lazerfist (Second Ms. Fantastic and Former Skrull chaos agent on earth during the Skrull-Kree Cold War), Crystalia Amaquelin (Crystal, Inhuman Ambassador), She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters, earth representative and legal expert), Thundra (Thundra, Femizonian Ambassador). The Kree empire was disbanded after the end of the Kree-Skrull cold war.
6E) Johnny Storm never became the second human torch but ends up becoming Evil Jesus. During his trip to the stars with his sister he accidentally ends up in the Negative Zone, the void between dimensions, and befriends the locals, becoming a jesus like figure and ending up ruling the place. It’s not as banged up as it sounds but with prolonged commuting with the Negative Zone he has achieved a state of resonance with Oblivion, one of the other 4 great entities of the universe, and has become his champion. (in direct contrast with his sister’s coming from Infinity). He still uses his powers for good, if in a chaotic good way compared to his sister lawful good one.
6F) Peggy Carter was subjected to the Super Soldier program during WWII, thus becoming Agent England, de facto leader of the Invaders (Mostly same team, Sub-Mariner, First Human Torch, etc.), and guiding the assault against nazi germany and hydra. She and her sidekick end up frozen on the same plane
6G) Steve Rogers was still picked under her wing, if not able to receive super soldier treatment, and still became the (original) Captain America, a purely propagandist figure of a scrawny, physically weak son of immigrants Brooklyn dude, the complete opposite of the German Ubermech ideal for the white man, but with enough anger and outrage over an unjust world to pick fights with people 5 times his size, shown in many a propaganda video punching Hitler square in the jaw and knocking him out cold. They both ended up on that plane crashing in the arctic and were defrosted several years later.
6H) With the disappearance of Agent England, the Invaders disbanding, and the cold war underway, with no superhero team really cropping up, Doctor Deidre Wentworth managed to develop a modified version of the Super Soldier Serum, testing it on herself, and becoming the Superior Captain America. She forms the (US Exclusive, extremely political) “Americommandos” superteam, with selected superheroines and “reformed” supervillaines of the time. The team was responsible for many controversial superhero activities during the cold war, in and out of the united states, and is still going to this day, even if some members have retires or have outright died. Not Superior Cap tho, no, her aging has been slowed down due to the serum, so here she is still guiding black ops teams to capture and imprison some worker rights activists that happen to be mutants.
6I) The Sorcerer Supreme of this dimension happens to be Doctor Doom, Ruler of Latveria.
6L) Norman Osborn never became the Green Goblin. He was still a scummy CEO and millionaire, and still had a affair with one of his son’s best friends. Gwen was dating Peter at the time and ended up getting pregnant with Norman, he finds out, pressures her to get an abortion, almost terrorizes her, she doesn’t cave, Peter is understandably confused and shocked but still wants to support her (as does Mary Jane), but on the day of Gwen’s son’s and daughter’s birth Norman pulls the same shit he pulled in canon with Mary Jane and Mayday, hires an assassin to force a miscarriage, Gwen finds out a couple months later, stages her death, and becomes the Ghost-Goblin, ending up throwing Norman off the New York bridge and killing him in the process for good. His estate and company was inherited by his son, Henry, who devolved most of it to charity, destroying the Osborn business empire.
7) That’s the gist of it really, gona elaborate on more tomorrow.
EDIT: 8) Nightcrawler is the Pope.

Marvel’s WandaVision Episode 2: MCU Easter Eggs and Reference Guide
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This article contains WANDAVISION Episode 1 spoilers, and potential spoilers for future episodes, the wider MCU, and Marvel Comics. We have a spoiler free review here.
NOTE: This is our reference guide for WandaVision episode 2! If you’re looking for episode 1, click here instead.
And you thought this show couldn’t get weirder? WandaVision episode 2 moved its sitcom-flavor a few years into the (still black and white) future, introduced a few new characters, and started leaning a little harder into the MCU than we saw in the first episode.
Let’s see what we found…
Sitcom Inspiration!
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
The idea of a regular suburban couple needing to do something goofy like put on an act for a talent show seems like classic sitcom fodder, but things get even more specific in this episode.
The animated intro is VERY reminiscent of the opening of Bewitched, the sitcom I feel like this has the most in common with in its first two episodes…for obvious reasons.
Due to the Hays Code, non-married couples never shared the same bed on television until…Darrin and Samantha on Bewitched in the ‘70s. This episode begins with Wanda and Vision in separate beds until Wanda magicks them together.
One other sitcom-y connection might be that whenever reality is starting to show its cracks, a character says “damn,” which has to be against whatever TV rules they had in the 1950s and therefore breaks the immersion further. Vision’s boss yells it at dinner in the first episode and Vision says it when there’s that outside noise in this one.
Bova
The sharp-eyed Ed Duffy spotted a carton of “Bova Milk” in the opening animated segment of the episode.
Bova is a cow evolved to walk and talk like a human, a gentle old soul who served as a midwife at the birth of Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. Well, at least in the comics. We’re not counting on seeing Bova’s lovely bovine countenance on this show any time soon, but hey, you never know!
The Grim Reaper
Also visible in that animated intro is the Grim Reaper’s helmet, apparently underground at their house. The Grim Reaper is an extremely annoying Marvel villain who constantly popped up in stories dealing with Vision and Scarlet Witch. He was the brother of Simon “Wonder Woman” Williams, was a stupid racist, and was really angry all the damn time.
Watch everything Marvel and more on Disney+, right here!
The actual location of that helmet could be a subtle callback to the events of Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta’s Vision series, which is an absolute masterpiece that you should read as soon as possible.
Westview
Wanda and Vision live in the fictional town of Westview, which despite looking very much like a Burbank backlot, is likely supposed to be in New Jersey. There’s two reasons we’re going to place Westview in New Jersey. First, Herb makes a reference to Hackensack, NJ later in the episode. But more importantly, in the comics, Wanda and Vision made the real life bedroom community of Leonia, NJ their home in the 1980s Vision and the Scarlet Witch comics.
Illusion and Glamor
Wanda and Vision’s stage magic act name has them going by the name of “Illusion” (Vision) and “Glamor” (Wanda). In the Vision and the Scarlet Witch comics, Illusion and Glamor were characters of their own, famed stage magicians Ilya and Glynis Zarkov, who were friendly neighbors of our favorite weirdo couple. What the public didn’t know was that their stage magic was actually REAL magic (kind of like what we see with Viz and Wanda later this episode). And what even fewer people knew was that they were also international criminals. Anyway, don’t expect Ilya and Glynis to show up on WandaVision or in the MCU now that their names have been used.
Also…is it us or does Wanda’s “Glamor” bathing suit thingy feel like a reference to some of her original, skimpier costumes?
Who is Geraldine?
That would be Teyonah Parris as “Geraldine,” who it has already been revealed is in fact the grown up version of Monica Rambeau, the young girl we met in Captain Marvel. While we’re on the subject, is it us, or does Geraldine’s brooch look a little like the logo she wore when she took on the mantle of Captain Marvel in the comics?
The Neighbors
In addition to Agnes (who we wrote about in detail here) and the aforementioned Geraldine, we also meet Fred and Linda, Dennis the Mailman, Dottie and Phil, Beth, and someone named Herbert. We have our suspicions that the seven of them (minus Geraldine) could be Marvel’s Satan’s Seven. We wrote more about this theory here.
Ol’ Herb, perhaps coincidentally, but perhaps not, shares a name with Herbert Edgar Wyndham, the Marvel Comics villain known as the High Evolutionary, who in some versions of Wanda and her brother Pietro’s origin, was responsible for giving them their powers.
The Helicopter
Wanda finds a toy helicopter, in full color, in her bushes. For one thing, the helicopter is in Iron Man colors (or Vision colors?). For another, it has the #57 on it. Vision made his first appearance in the comics in the pages of Avengers #57 in 1968. But perhaps most importantly, that helicopter bears the logo of SWORD (which we wrote more about here) on it.
So here’s the uncomfortable question: is this just Wanda’s subconscious playing tricks on her, or did she actually bring down a SWORD helicopter not knowing what she did?
The Beekeeper
The weird and disturbing beekeeper is an agent of SWORD based on the logo on his back. Or…is he?
“For the Children”
The creepy, cult-y repetition of “for the children” certainly can’t be foreshadowing for Wanda’s own struggles with starting a family, can it? Of course not. Nothing to see here…
The Strucker Commercial
The watch comes from a company called “Strucker.”
The Strucker watch matches up with one of the themes of the rest of the episode. Baron Wolfgang von Strucker showed up as part of Wanda and Pietro’s origin in the MCU, but before that, he was a comic book foe of Captain America’s, a Nazi who had a mystical artifact that gave him powers: his Satan Claw. With all the devil mentions elsewhere in this episode, this is likely intentional.
“He’ll make time for you,” the slogan from the commercial, likely hints at another aspect of Wanda’s story here. In the comics, she was discovered to be a Nexus of Realities, an entity with a lot of explanation that amounts to “she’s important to the multiverse.” The person who discovered this about her (and nurtured it, and protected her because of it) was Immortus, the far future version of Kang the Conqueror.
The same two actors from the Stark Industries Toastmate 2000 commercial from episode one are back here. If they become a recurring theme, do they have greater significance?
Lingering Questions…
The WandaVision house number is 2800. So far, we’re drawing blanks on what that might mean from a Marvel or MCU standpoint.
Does anyone recognize the logo on “the cabinet of mysteries?” Is this something Wanda has worn? Is it perhaps a Doctor Strange easter egg?
Is it possible that “Wentworth’s” department store is a reference to Deidre Wentworth, better known as Superia, the villainous Femizon who once created an alternate reality of her own? No? Too much of a reach? OK, fine.
