How extravagant everything was for the entity's ball. Plenty to look at and plenty to keep the mind busy, which the shining and fur-clad idol desperately wanted; he was hoping some alcohol would facilitate the desire, as well as act as a comfortable buffer for any socializing he'd partake in. Downing a glass rather quickly at the catering table, Jiwoon looked over the others making themselves comfortable at the ball. Amidst all the splendor and ornate, grand designs, his predatory gaze caught a familiar figure that he never seemed to have too much trouble finding somehow. With non-too-subtle steps, a quiet jangling of belts and metal following the footfalls of boots, Jiwoon trailed behind the other. A new glass of champagne was swiftly grabbed, a measured delicacy not in mind, as his focus was instead fully given to narrowing the space between himself and the other who held their own drink in hand.
"안녕하세요~" Familiar phrase by now was uttered by a likely equally familiar voice. A hand reached over and lightly clanked the glass Yoichi held, his own small chuckle escaping at the playful act of surprise.
Tumblr media
"You look like the freshest catch of the day, 오징어. Escaping off the catering table? Want to make it on my plate instead?"
Yoichi stood in place, arms tucked stiffly to his sides as he glanced around at fellow survivors and killers as they mingled and talked among one another. Despite deciding to come out to this party of his own volition, he felt incredibly out of place. He’s not been in a large crowd like this in a long while and one that wasn’t as extravagant as this. He reached to tug at his collar and clear his throat. Perhaps he can go somewhere quieter, get a breather, or perhaps maybe stop by the catering table for a snack. Trapped in his own thoughts, he didn’t hear the approaching steps of a predator on the hunt. The clink of his glass caught him by surprise, bringing him away from his thoughts. He looked at the two champagne glasses, then the hand holding the other and following it up the arm to a pair of yellow glowing eyes greeting him. “Hak-San“ he exclaimed softly, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “I should not be surprised then you are the one to catch me, Kami-sama.“
Tumblr media
He turned to better face the idol, head tilting to the side. “or is ハイエナ a better name? ”

A guest that no one would expect has arrived, bribed perhaps by a certain Ghost as he stalks silently through the party. Is the bear skull real? Perhaps, it certainly does look as if it is, as well as the fur adorning the skull. Either way, the Shape is now at the Masquerade Ball.

Water - to offer my muse a glass of water
( @ask-dbd-adawong )
Oh, how kind of her to offer. Politely taking the water from Miss Ada Wong, he bows as is tradition and respectful before he takes a sip. Normally, he would wait until the elder, or older individual drinks first, but... It's a party, some manners can slip here and there he supposed. As he drinks the water, he continues to smile, once more, happy for the mask in place. If he smiled enough, no one will notice anything and he can just enjoy the party and try to push everything down.
"Thank you kindly, Miss Wong. I hope you are enjoying the evening as well."

DBD & Sandman Plot Ideas
For when the writing mood strikes:
Hob Gadling x Cat King - not exactly the most yk functional ship out there but they could certainly have met once or twice
This one is more of an abstract idea but I was thinking of Matthew. So Matthew dies and for some supernatural reason can't move on so the dbd try out a new 'banishing' spell of some sorts but it actually just sends him to the dreaming which is how/why he ends up a crow.
On another note I was thinking can Hob see ghosts? Like he has had loads of near death expierences but he is kind of the opposite of close to death pretty much all of the time so I guess the ruling would be either yes he can or no never. (plotline where Hob decides to dabble in the occult and gets posessed and walks away from the counter seeing the dead - could be the whole fic actually?)
A fic where death discovers the existance of the dbd? More abstract.
Monty & Matthew, aka more crow related fic (could throw in jessamy for good measure) : ohhhh fun idea is that bcuz Matthew is now the Dream King's raven he is also the raven king and now has to tackle all the responsibilites that come with the enexpected job.
Fic where Death 'under the table' employs the dbd to find her missing brother and rescue him because she can't officially interfere but she can have people looking.
I need to make a timeline of key events in both fandoms to see where they line up for my own sanity. Then I can do interesting stuff about the dbd and the who sleep sickness possibly but that is a problem for future me (unless someone else makes one first lol)
all fic is good fic and all ideas are public for others to take inspiration from should they so desire

Dead by Daylight patch is sad news for Mastermind mains
Tumblr media
Dead by Daylight is one of those multiplayer games we, and the devs want to make sure that this continues to be the case. Following the release of Dead by Daylight‘s End Transmission update, feedback from players began to pour in over social media and Behaviour Interactive has been quick to respond. The studio has confirmed its work on an upcoming patch which includes various bug fixes, as well as a few new features. Update 7.0.1 is set to be End Transmission‘s “Bugfix Patch” according to devs, and it addresses a few concerns you may have had about DBD recently. The Singularity’s Biopods have often been disabled, rendering it difficult to make use of its power. Holding an EMP has given survivors too much protection against said power as well, allowing one to quickly remove the Slipstream effect and disable Biopods while being chased. To combat both issues, the devs are making a few changes like reducing the number of supply crates by one, increasing EMP generation time by ten seconds, and reducing the duration of disabled Biopods to 45 seconds. With these adjustments in place, EMPs will not be as readily available to survivors and will also only disable Biopods for a short period. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVDeOR9-N_4 To counter another developing strategy in which survivors hold an EMP at all times and use it only when the killer attempts to tag them with the Slipstream, the devs are also increasing the time to charge an EMP to 2.5 seconds and are slowing survivors’ movement speed down by 10% if they are charging the EMP. These two adjustments should make saving your EMP for a chase much more dangerous. The killer will be able to catch up to you a little quicker after you remove your Slipstream as survivor, meaning that you’ll need to plan ahead before using your EMP defensively. Even though I hardly ever opt to play as a killer myself, I hope that this evens the playing ground a bit for those who do. DBD’s devs have also responded to players wondering about Mastermind and whether or not he will return to the game soon. In a prior End Transmission patch, DBD’s Mastermind was disabled, and unfortunately the Mastermind is not returning to DBD during 7.0.1. Instead, he will rejoin the cast of iconic killers at a later, unspecified date. While Behaviour Interactive has yet to confirm a solid date for the 7.0.1 patch, they have stated that it will come soon and players can test changes in a Public Test Build prior to the update’s full release. For more information, you can view the full developer update here. Other changes are likely to include more general bug fixes and gameplay tweaks. Be sure to look through our round-up of Dead by Daylight codes for this month, and check out the release date for the 2023 DBD anniversary event. You can also browse some of our favorite multiplayer games if you love playing DBD with friends. Read the full article

💾 ►►► DOWNLOAD FILE 🔥🔥🔥 This game offers a wide range of killers where you can find a few of the most famous horror stories. Killers and survivors have both their own strengths and weaknesses. In the case of survivors, their abilities help them escape the killer. For example, survivors have special perks like Object of Obsession and Blood Covenant. Of course, the combined effect of these two perks might even break the game. According to multiple reports, many Dead by Daylight players are taking advantage of a wallhack exploit where they can see the killers even through walls using the Object of Obsession and Blood Pact rewards. The threatening dreadful evil of the Dead by Daylight wallhack puts killers at a disadvantage — because survivors will always be aware of their movements. With the invention of objects and bloodpact WP2 survivors can use wallhacks to murder themselves by all times. Despite the fact that I played a game of a dbd but, most of the time, he discovered that one survivor was a streamer and decided to listen to the game and the exploit people were using was discovered. The combination of the Dead by Daylight Object of Obsession and Blood Pact provides a persistent aura surrounding the killer. The aura is visible almost everywhere when you play as a survivor. I connected a demonstration of defamation of substance. That has the right to play two games as a killer against abusers like this and it is unbarable. However, the exploit also threatens their users. Basically, the permanent activation of the aura around the killer requires the survivor to remain injured a whole lot throughout the game. That said, players are demanding developers to disable or steal the Object of Obsession and Blood Pact perks as soon as possible. This is the same thing as the game currently, so it will stay for now that the developers take action. Many players report the issue online and support forums alike. Hi Ji-Woon! Have you made any friends in this new place you're in?
"I'm not sure, I don't have much experience with friendships to properly answer. We all work together, though. That can be a similar environment, I guess." He seemed to think it over a moment before giving a quiet hum. Come to think of it his best "friendship" would likely be with his manager, and so far...she...well...seemed preoccupied. The other survivors though?

Do you get annoyed when people keep asking you about dbd even if you're not really into it anymore? How does it feel to have people following you for your dbd works even if you probably won't continue them (I know you may, but let's say you won't)?
When I was 14 I left My Little Pony fandom with some unfinished fanfiction and people kept asking me about it. It haunted me for like three years. Even 10 years later I'm sometimes invited to fandom meetings and get asked questions about my fic and I'm fuckin dying bc I have to confront cringy 14 yo me.
Anyway I hope you're feeling good today <3 <3
Awww, that’s a very sweet thing to ask. : )
Well, let me think. It really depends. I cooled originally because of the archives and the retcons being so bad back to back to back, and stopped around when Sally’s tome released. But the last straw for stopping was that I got harassed over dbd for about a week the exact same time I got the call one of my family members had just been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. And while it was hardly the first time and usually I don’t care much, those two events kind of left a joined taste in my mouth. Even if that doesn’t make entire sense, I guess it does though. When I was about 10, I had moved, and a friend of mine I’ll call K, their mom got diagnosed with breast cancer. The way their dad broke the news was to take them to see the movie Hoodwinked, and get nice food, to try and soften the blow. That was a sweet intention, but to the best of my knowledge, even though that film truly has nothing to do with K’s personal life, the thought of it alone is upsetting, because that’s just how traumatic associations work. So, circling back. At the time? Almost infuriating, even if irrational. Didn’t help I’d made online friends for dbd, basically all of whom that knew, did the opposite of be there for me while I watched a family member die. Getting asked, especially after I’d answered the same question a lot of times, it felt like no one was listening to or respecting my choices or the tragedy I was going through. Really bothered me when I got that from friends. Sometimes I made it very clear it was not a topic I wanted to be discussing, and got straight up ignored. Both more personal and the more public versions were a very dismissive, and unpleasant, experience overall.
To be clear though, I am happy there are people still following me for my dbd works—I haven’t cooled on my own creations. I’m very proud of them, and I love those stories, and I am quite happy other people do too, and that some of the people originally interested for that have stuck around. I’m also really excited every single time a new reader finds and comments on, or starts asking me about my work. To me, DbD the currently ongoing game, and DbD of my works are divorced concepts like nearby islands. And I love my own stories. So I welcome asks about my own work. I don’t think that ever stopped. It’s more complicated with just about DbD updates kind of asks, now, because I tend to get them on anon, so it’s not like I can know if it’s a long time follower ignoring they know I left & hoping I am/assuming I’ll magically get back into dbd just because I was a bnf for so long, or if it is someone just popping in or following recently bc they just got into my stuff, and have no clue. When I first started being like ‘I haven’t been paying attention any more, here is why,’ and that got ignored; genuinely hurtful, is how it felt. Now, I know decent odds it’s someone with no clue, and if they don’t know, it doesn’t bother me. I have been invited to things, and in general I find that sweet, because it’s never from people who’ve interacted like here, on Tumblr, enough to know I’m peaced out. It’s always just people who know and like my work, and that, again, I see as very different to me, and it makes me happy. A little funny, at times, especially if they want to talk about an update I barely am aware even happed, but flattering and sweet none the less.
So I guess, in tldr, I actively enjoy engagement with my own content—a lot. And if I get dbd requests from people who don’t know, I don’t mind. It used to be extremely hurtful to regularly get asks about a game I was very publicly off of, while going through so much shit last year, and I hated it. Now I mind less, because I know people don’t all know now. It can still be mildly irritating depending on my mood though. I do still intend to continue my own stuff though; for a long time it was too close for me to want to touch it, but time has helped and I’ve really enjoyed especially all the people asking about Signifying Nothing this year. It was very nice. : )
So my stuff: Actively Enjoy. — DbD updates: I won’t really have an answer and how I feel will depend on my mood. — Dbd in general?? Mmmm. Depends. Old/OG: interesting and I enjoy it—I still like that too. Archives retcon changes and updates I know nothing about? Do not enjoy that. And I guess like? — tbh, while I never stopped liking my stuff and am very happy for interaction with it, and plan to write more, I really don’t think I will ever go back to being into/playing dbd the game, because I was already like two straws from quitting. Unless the online play got way less toxic, the devs retcon their bad retcons and fix their un-research, and stop making their lore worse and worse all the time w tomes—especially in F You ways to the fans, and the devs stop doing shady stuff like shit redesigns and cosmetic choices, and participating in NFTs, I’m not ever going back to the game because it’s no longer….good. As an experience, to me. Too much I’d be like ‘I don’t really want to affiliate w this anymore’ at. I really don’t think that’s such an uncommon fan response, is the funny thing—especially with tv shows, where writing seasons 1-4 can be great, but then the next six seasons fall apart, so it’s kinda odd to me it seems so hard for some video game people to grasp some players might feel that same way. It’s not even uncommon to love something at start, see it get worse and worse, and spend six years writing fixer for the bad writing because the characters or world had such potential. It’s not like I hate dbd or something either—I’ll always love my own stuff, and OG dbd, just New Dbd, I am disinterested in. It lost me, haha. Anyway! I digress.
Circling way back, I’m sorry that you had to deal with that. I’ve certainly experienced versions of that before. And it was really considerate of you to ask me this, so, thank you. It means a lot. You’re the first and only person I’ve ever known because of dbd who has asked me something like that, and it made me feel listened to. It really means a lot.

kard i tried to read the boycott thing but idgi... there's a lot to read there and i did read it all and maybe im dumb but i don't rly get the issue? is it bc some of the recent stuff has been buggy even after ptb? why does that mean the solution is boycott tho? can u pls explain like i'm 5 why ppl are so mad??
BHVR wont fix anything unless their image or their income is threatened (image: they added a mode for color blind people after a journalist? pointed it out repeatedly openly) (income: when the ultra rare outfits for jill and leon were released, people gave public headsups to save money and not buy the head cosmetics as they are the exact same (leons hair on his re4 cosmetic was like a bit longer. nothing too noticable), and suddenly BHVR added a patch and locked them into sets so that people could not avoid paying the full price for the exact same head cosmetic)
they do not listen to their community, that is very much known, its almost like they just purposefully ignore us bc they know the majority will keep playing <3
all in all I can say gameplay (technical): absolute increase of bugs each chapter. barely anything gets fixed. the UI speedup bug has been present for MONTHS. iron will not working on ground has been there for 2 years. there are bugs that make the game truly ehll to work with. I got hit through a wall last time I played. some killers are completely hell to go against bc there are NO counters and there is no fun (spirit). its a hell game and I wish they could actually start putting effort into this gameplay (practical): the game got extremely grindy. people do not have the lifestyle to play it 24/7 just to finish the rift where you get little amounts of shards. they made the game more focussed on money than gameplay. events lost their play value and its just there to either grind for iri shards to buy cosmetics or buy them for money. gameplay (content): content gets reused (some characters having the same animations. people pointed out the trees were all the same in autohaven wreckers just copy pasted. we dont evne get new maps anymore. some of the reowkred maps look genuinely bad). we get less content and more bugs that makes the game unplayable really. we got one map in the past 3 chapters (binding of kin had no chapter. all kill had no chapter. but now RE got one) but it got immediately locked like an hour into the release. its weird
again, BHVR will not listen if they dont lose something, due to them holding the throne in this area of games they really do not ahve any standing contestants. so people decided to simply just not spend any money for three months (which is little time, really, and easily done). as BHVRs only true successful game is DBD.
I think the way the content is and gameplay wise it delivers nothing for new players to stay, really. and so many bugs are frustrating to the point of people just quitting the game fully.

You can train yourself out of seasickness(occasionally you might still get sick, but you'll mostly be fine). So even if "Wens are bad with water" maybe WRH had a dedicated naval army? They swam it? And maybe Sunshot dragged on because like, someone still has to do nighthunts and we've got extra ghosties? Doesn't matter how much land you've taken back if all your citizens are getting eaten by demons. Anyway looking at these maps JFM needs to stop giving JC shit about not attempting the impossible
then why chase the waterborne abyss down to gusu? if you were used to water in some way, that would be a 'trivial' nighthunt to handle
(i fucking call bullshit on training out of seasickness for everyone, but maybe i have a brain that doesn't like to be wobbled. some people just like to stay put)
i also think of qishan wen like the kingdom of wei in three kingdoms since they occupy a similar territory (in the west, at least) - there's a famous battle across the yangtze where the wei kingdom's biggest weakness was their lack of familiarity w naval battles despite having the largest and most powerful army of all the kingdoms. and the kingdoms of wu and shu fucked wei's shit up by tricking them into chainlinking their ships together so it was like a floating island so they brought horses and shit aboard
and then wu and shu set their entire navy on fire and it was hilarious (battle of red cliffs)
^so we can't speculate. unless they're always on the water and dealing w its shit, it's annoying and wasteful to spread your army out like that. at least, that's what i'm going w in dbd, and some internal strife and shit too.
-
on nighthunts and crap, makes sense. but then it would make more sense for many of the 'fast-paced' events to also take a long time - otherwise you're overreaching and then it's easy to cut you off. unless the jc&lwj excursion was like a special forces/rambo thing, then sure. there's a lot to be fleshed out here when we get there.
-
i think jfm just didn't like how jc was spicy like mme yu, and his approach to teaching is very hands-off and indirect, and and you never praise your kids explicitly bc that's just gauche (not that it's good for your kids, mind you). in terms of mannerisms, jc is like, what chinese men do not aspire to be known as - very siu hei (小氣, stingy/narrow-minded as the closest translation). they rather be known as even-tempered, magnanimous, wise, bold, all that - like how jgs acts w his public persona.
it's not like jfm would have known how jc can rise to the occasion. they say that in times of strife, heroes are born (or something like that, i don't remember the exact phrasing in chinese)

Hello!! Could I possibly get a romantic dbd matchup? Survivor or Killer is fine! Male or female. Whoever suits me best really 👉👈
I’m non-binary but I use any pronouns! I’m 18, 5’7 with short, fluffy golden-brown hair and icy blue eyes. I’m average weight for my height, not too strong but I make up for it in flexibility!
I’m one to go up to others first and become friends, so I consider myself to be extroverted. Yet if I’m out in public with my friends, I’ll stick to their side like glue and will refuse to talk to others unless I have to. I’m pretty formal when I first meet someone and very polite, once I know you better I’ll be much more silly and open. I enjoy teasing my friends and joking around but know when to stop! I’m suuuper loyal as well as protective, if someone I care about needs my help? I’m there in an instant. With my s/o I can be pretty clingy and will legit hold onto them whenever I can, I crave affection 😭 I will actually cry with any form of soft affection i get.
My hobbies include listening to music, reading, writing, playing video games, gardening, and designing outfits. Other things I do that I don’t really consider hobbies are drinking tea (almost 24/7), and collecting weird plushies/ pins.
Overall I’m just a little being who likes hugs and tries their best for their friends and family. Thank you so much if you get to this!! I appreciate it a lot! Take your time <3!
I decided to do both killer and survivor
For survivors, I ship you with... Meg Thomas!
Tumblr media
Meg admires how family/ friend oriented you are given the fact that Meg herself is very much family oriented when it comes to her mother. She understands not being physically strong but she's all for using what your good at as a compromise for not being the strongest/ biggest. While you're a flexible person, meg is the running type. Dates with Meg would be more of the social gatherings (i.e. going out to group dates or going out to clubbing/ social events) but if you opt for the more intimate types of dates that's just one on one, Meg is more than willing to do that.
Post fog wise, Meg loves your bright and social personality. It reminds her of the warmth of the sun. Just like you're protective over the people you care about, Meg becomes super protective over you when the two of you are in a trial. Your gardening knowledge could help Meg out when it comes to what plants arent an danger while she gives you tips on how to run more efficiently from the killers.
For killers, I ship you with... The Huntress/ Anna!
Tumblr media
Anna ended up having a soft spot for you when she saw you. Anna wasn't sure if it was the way you have a sense of child-like innocence like she has or if it's the way you're loving towards the people you care for. Given that Anna has survived decades in the harsh environment of the red woods, she's quite knowledgeable about nature and would talk to you about how to take care of plants and crops during harsh environments like snow.
Seeing your collection of weird plushies, Anna couldn't help but to gift you any plushies in her collection that you might enjoy. She also tends to gift you shiny items that she finds that you might enjoy. The main issue I see with your relationship with Anna is the simple fact that Anna isn't a social person, she prefers to be one with nature rather than with large social groups. She tries for you because she cares and wants you to be happy.
Other possibilities: Dwight Fairfield, Leon Kennedy, Amanda young "the pig", Philip Ojomo "the wraith."

@insidious-journalist cont;;
At the nickname, the ears seemingly shoot up straight, an odd feature on the mask certainly… But oddly cute as well. "Oh.. Hello Sir." Taking in the man's attire as well as his voice, Jong-In's brows furrow as he tries to deduce who this was. The way he was speaking… It's confident, but his voice is familiar. Then again, several voices are familar. Looking at the man's masked visage, he attempts to discern any important details and smiles politely.
It is a good thing his own eyes are covered, they were admittedly.. dull. He may look like the bell of the ball, but his heart feels less so right now. Despite the festivities and his good nature, he can't shake of the recent events and it shows in his eyes most of all.
"Uhm… Just tired, that is all. Not nervous, but if you are nervous- I am guessing you are not used to crowds? I saw there are private rooms and a garden, the garden sounds nice. Maybe that could ease your nerves then?" Always the one to put someone else's needs before his own, how cute.

Migrating legacy PostgreSQL databases to Amazon RDS or Aurora PostgreSQL using Bucardo
If you are using PostgreSQL earlier than 9.4, you are using an unsupported version of PostgreSQL, and may have limited options to migrate or replicate your databases in Amazon RDS or Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL. This is primarily because PostgreSQL versions older than 9.4 can’t perform logical replication. Bucardo is an open-source utility that can replicate data changes asynchronously to multiple secondary or multiple masters. It is a trigger-based replication and proven to be consistent and stable for more extensive migrations and ongoing replications. Bucardo can perform full load for tables without a primary key. However, to replicate delta data changes from Primary, create a primary key before you start the setup. This post demonstrates how to set up Bucardo and replicate data changes from PostgreSQL 8.4 to PostgreSQL 9.6. Prerequisites Before getting started, you must have the following: One EC2 instance with Ubuntu 16.04 for Bucardo (Bucardo Server: 172.31.88.4) One EC2 instance with RHEL 6 with PostgreSQL 8.4.2 (PostgreSQL 8.4.2: 172.31.16.177) One RDS PostgreSQL 9.6 in us-east-1 (RDS 9.6) This post uses PostgreSQL 8.4.2 on Amazon EC2; however, the PostgreSQL database might be running on-premises. This solution installs Bucardo 5.4.1 on Ubuntu 16.04, which means that the repository for Bucardo is on the same host running on a PostgreSQL 9.6 instance. The following diagram shows the architecture of the data replication flow. Fig: Replication Architecture to migrate PostgreSQL 8.4 to RDS PostgreSQL 9.6 using Bucardo. Installing Bucardo binaries There are several packages that you must install before installing Bucardo. See the following code: #apt-get install postgresql-plperl-9.6 libdbd-pg-perl libboolean-perl build-essential libdbd-mock-perl libdbd-pg-perl libanyevent-dbd-pg-perl libpg-hstore-perl libpgobject-perl Connect to CPAN and install DBI,DBD::Pg,DBIx::Safe. See the following code: cpan > install DBI cpan > install DBD::Pg cpan > install DBIx::Safe Download the Bucardo binaries into your local directory and untar. See the following code: $wget http://bucardo.org/downloads/Bucardo-5.4.1.tar.gz tar xvfz Bucardo-5.4.1.tar.gz $perl Makefile.PL $sudo make install Creating superusers and the repository database You must create a Bucardo superuser and repository database to control and track the replications between environments. Connect to DB-APP1 using the PSQL client or pgadmin4 and create the superuser and repository on DR-App1. See the following code: postgres=# create user bucardo superuser; CREATE ROLE postgres=# create database bucardo; CREATE DATABASE postgres=# du List of roles Role name | Attributes | Member of -----------+------------------------------------------------------------+----------- bucardo | Superuser | {} postgres | Superuser, Create role, Create DB, Replication, Bypass RLS | {} replica | Replication | {} postgres=# alter database bucardo owner to bucardo; ALTER DATABASE postgres=# list List of databases Name | Owner | Encoding | Collate | Ctype | Access privileges -----------+----------+----------+-------------+-------------+----------------------- bucardo | bucardo | UTF8 | en_US.UTF-8 | en_US.UTF-8 | postgres | postgres | UTF8 | en_US.UTF-8 | en_US.UTF-8 | template0 | postgres | UTF8 | en_US.UTF-8 | en_US.UTF-8 | =c/postgres + | | | | | postgres=CTc/postgres template1 | postgres | UTF8 | en_US.UTF-8 | en_US.UTF-8 | =c/postgres + | | | | | postgres=CTc/postgres (4 rows) After you create the superuser and repository database, exit from PSQL and run “bucardo install” from the terminal where Bucardo software is staged. This creates a set of tables in the Bucardo database (the database owner should be a Bucardo superuser). Installing the Bucardo repository To install the Bucardo repository, enter the following code: postgres@ip-172-31-88-4:~/Bucardo-5.4.1$ sudo bucardo install This installs the Bucardo database into an existing PostgreSQL cluster. You must have compiled PostgreSQL with Perl support, and connect as a superuser. See the following code: Current connection settings: 1. Host: 2. Port: 5432 3. User: postgres 4. Database: bucardo 5. PID directory: /var/run/bucardo Enter a number to change it, P to proceed, or Q to quit: p Postgres version is: 9.6 Attempting to create and populate the bucardo database and schema Database creation is complete Updated configuration setting "piddir" Installation is now complete. If you see errors or need help, you can contact Bucardo support for assistance at [email protected]. You may want to check over the configuration variables next. See the following code: bucardo show all Change any setting by using: bucardo set foo=bar postgres@ip-172-31-88-4:~/Bucardo-5.4.1$ Whitelisting Bucardo and the PostgreSQL database server to connect with each other Use pgpass to set up passwordless authentication to connect the source and target databases securely. On the Bucardo server, enter the following code: postgres@ip-172-31-88-4:~$ touch ~/.pgpass postgres@ip-172-31-88-4:~$ chmod 0600 ~/.pgpass postgres@ip-172-31-88-4:~$ cat ~/.pgpass #server:port:database:username:password 127.0.0.1:5432:postgres:postgres:XXXXXX 172.31.88.4:5432:bucardo:postgres:XXXXXX 172.31.16.177:5432:repdb:postgres:XXXXXX pgrds.cxad2e11vriv.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com:5432:repdb:postgres:XXXXXX Verify that the Bucardo server can connect the source and target databases without a password with the following code: postgres@ip-172-31-88-4:~$ psql -h 172.31.16.177 -d repdb -U postgres -w -c "select count(*) from pgbench_branches" count ------- 1 (1 row) postgres@ip-172-31-88-4:~$ psql --host 'pgrds.cxad2e11vriv.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com' --port 5432 --username 'postgres' 'repdb' -w -c "select count(*) from pgbench_branches" count ------- 1 (1 row) Resolving a permission denied error Because RDS is a managed service, AWS doesn’t provide superuser privileges for security reasons. To perform a trigger-based replication, you must enable the parameter session_replication_role. You can use the security definer function rds_session_replication_role, which helps you to set the parameter to replica when an event occurs. To be consistent across all environments, this post creates the security definer function in EC2 PostgreSQL (8.4.2) and RDS. Create language plpgsql; with the following code: CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION public.rds_session_replication_role(role text) RETURNS text LANGUAGE plpgsql SECURITY DEFINER AS $function$ DECLARE curr_val text := 'unset'; BEGIN EXECUTE 'SET session_replication_role = ' || quote_literal(role); EXECUTE 'SHOW session_replication_role' INTO curr_val; RETURN curr_val; END $function$; postgres=> revoke all on function rds_session_replication_role(text) from public; REVOKE postgres=> grant execute on function rds_session_replication_role(text) to rds_superuser; GRANT postgres=> grant rds_superuser to postgres; GRANT Also, make changes to the bucardo.pm file at lines 5397 and 5330 with the following code: $dbh->do(q{select rds_session_replication_role('replica');}); ## Assumes a sane default ! From. $dbh->do(q{SET session_replication_role = default}); ## Assumes a sane default ! Alternatively, you can download the updated bucardo.pm file and move the file to the server where Bucardo is running under the location /usr/local/share/perl/5.22.1/Bucardo.pm. If you are running in production, please test it before using it. Generating a sample source database and initiating target full load On the source database, generate some test data using pgbench. You Belong On the Cover of a Magazine!
No one else is doing this...which makes it very exciting for me to share!
Every couple I meet has a story.  And every couple wants to share that story in a way that is unique and personal.  Couples want to affect their guests.  They want to share their lives, and take their guests on a journey.  In a world of pretty, pretty Instagram pictures, many want to unveil something that guests haven't seen, something real, authentic, and true.
Which is why I am now offering something previously reserved only to my couples to all people who have something to celebrate - with planners, without planners, anyone, everyone.
Introducing The Wedding Editorialist!
About a year ago, I began publishing personal "wedding planning" magazines for my couples.  Originally conceived as a Thank You gift from me to them, I wanted to create a momento of our time together.  The magazines included a style profile of the couple, articles showcasing their love story, engagement photos, emails, and text messages.  I included biographies on their photography team, videographers, and designers, along with a history of their venue and notes from any other creatives that came together to create their day.  I snapped photos during tastings and demos, at coffee meetings, and during dress fittings all with the intention of presenting a completely customized journal of our time together.
The moment that I received my first "issue" in the mail I knew that we had created something so wildly unique; and my couple was blown away!  It was like giving and receiving the greatest gift in the world.  In that moment, that feeling was enough.
I was shortsighted.  I thought that my couples would only want one or two copies for themselves, perhaps a few extra to share with a parent or bridal party.  But my people are extraordinary, and they took it to whole other level!  My brides and grooms started sharing their magazines digitally, then ordering them in mass quantities and sending them to all of the guests that came to the wedding as a part of the Thank You note and favor process.  Some of my couples began sharing their publications with other brides and grooms that they had connected with, and soon I was being asked to create pieces from past events, for couples that had used other planners, and - eventually - I was tasked with creating a piece that could be shared with guests in advance of the wedding.  "Well," I thought, "how am I going to do that without giving it all away?"  But where there is a will, there is a way, and the final piece became a magazine that will be waiting for guests in their suite when they check into their rooms this summer.  It will be sitting there on top of the other publications, as if it was pulled from the racks of Barnes and Noble.
As time went on, it became clear that doing this properly meant partnering with people who know more than I do about graphic design and poduction.  My long term friend and collaborator Brian Derck and I met to discuss the project, and just like that....The Wedding Editorialist was born.
Today, I am so proud to unveil The Wedding Editorialist to you, and give you a glimpse into all of the ways our issues are being used.
The Features Issue is a favorite among couples that was something special to commemorate their day.  The Features Issue allows couples to share their love story in their own words, with fun, candid behind the sciences photos mixing in with professional images from their photographers.
The Luxe Issue is for couples who want something beyond basic.  These brides and grooms cement their celebrity status among friends and relatives by working with our editors to create full color magazines that are larger, more detailed, and beautifully bound.
These pieces do not compete with the couple's wedding album, they compliment it.
Our Destinations Issue was inspired by my design pattern Ashley Schnippel from DBD who asked out loud, "Do you think you could make one of these for me before my wedding?"  Her Luxe Destinations Issue is in production now, and will soon be featured on our website.  The Destinations Issue can be printed, emailed, or downloaded to a smart phone.  With all of the amazing articles and behind the scenes teases from wedding planning, this is the perfect favor to get gets excited about your upcoming event.  More than that, though, by providing guests with a FAQ section about the hotel, a curated list of things to see, dine, and do while visiting, and a heavily detailed itinerary, we guarantee that your guests will have a resource on hand that they can turn to with questions....Without bothering you!
And lastly, we have our Pro Piece.  One of the most fulfilling and meaningful things I get to do as a part of this crazy industry is work with other professionals that I respect and admire.  Sometimes I am the mentor; sometimes I am the mentee.  No matter - we are always working together, learning from each other, making each other better.  The Professional Edition was created to give my colleagues an opportunity to make use of what Brian and I have spent a year learning in the click of a button!  Wedding Planners can create their own annual issue, which is a perfect way to catalogue and showcase their work to prospective clients and partners.  Or, they can purchase a Features Issue that can be created for their clients as a gift.  Wedding Photographers are working with us to not only share their perspectives and curate their work, but they are joining the Ambassador program, selling magazines directly to their clients as a one of a kind piece to go along with their albums.  I have venues and designers that want to show off the best of their work, and even entertainment agencies, musicians, and hair and make up artists creating pieces that they can send and share.
The Wedding Editorialist can be emailed as a link, embedded in website, shared in a Facebook post, or added to an email signature.  Every issue includes a digitally hosted e-zine, a printed copy of the magazine, and a social media icon you can use to share your piece online.  Want additional copies?  Easy!  We simply send you the link to our wholesale printing partner, and you can order as many (or as few) as you would like.
I am a wedding planner, first, last, and always.  But part of what I love about being a wedding planner is that I get to be a story teller, an artist, a designer, and a historian.  Through my professional partnerships and speaking engagements I get to be a teacher and a student.  Now, as a co-founder and partner in The Wedding Editorialist, I get to be all that and maybe, if I'm lucky, a little bit more.
Interested in working with our team to create your very own magazine?  It's never too early to begin!  Check out The Wedding Editorialist now!
Follow.  Friend.  Tweet.
The Wedding Editorialist welcomes you and cannot wait to connect!
Always....
PS - Our parent company, The Editorial Collective, will be launching our sister project, The Corporate Editorialist, in the coming months.  Designed to help businesses quickly and easily create and modify digital marketing pieces, The Corporate Editorialist will bring a bit of the style and romance of the wedding industry to more austere professions looking to shake things up a bit,
And for our lifetime legacy clients, we don't want to stop at your wedding!  Buy any issue we offer and for the rest of your life we will work with you to create magazines that celebrate and document all of life's most important moments.  From maternity sessions to new babies, international summer vacations to high school graduations, if you have a story, we want to tell it. You name the issue, we create it.

Compliment-
"Oh goodness Sir. You look incredible! I really love your style!" Lillie bowed and smiled, playing with her pink dress as she approached the bunny masked one. She had seen him before but never talked to him.
Tumblr media
The ears spring up straight on the mask as he is complimented, his expression one of surprise before he bows and places his hands together in an excited gesture. "Thank you so much, and you look very lovely as well." He's been a wallflower this entire time, so it does make sense that there wouldn't be much chatter. He really should try and be social a bit more.. But his heart doesn't feel up to it entirely.
So you fake it until you make it.
"Are you enjoying the festivities, Miss?"
