Please tell us more about your episode “Curse of the Haunted Mascot" and its plot.

This episode in particular I’m seesawing on still including because I’ll burn in Hell before I willingly seek out information on football, but here goes.

So the whole thing starts when Tetslaff recruits Danny as a walk-on a week before the last football game of the season. She’s noticed that Danny has a hell of a lot of strength/stamina/agility and wants to put it to use against Casper’s athletic rivals. Naturally Dash is pissed off about this, and Danny isn’t much better, because he doesn’t like Dash and sucks at anything even approaching sports.

Since Tucker’s a band geek here (I actually think I while go with him playing the sax; thank you to whoever suggested that), Sam shows up alone to laugh at Danny’s misfortune spectate, but gets roped into doing cheer when one of the cheerleaders quits. The rest of the squad quickly learns that Paulina and Sam have history.

The week before The Big Game™ Danny’s having one-on-one practice with Tetslaff, who finally drops the pretense and is like look, you suck at this because you don’t want to improve. Which is true; Danny doesn’t want to identify with football, nor does he want to get to know anyone who’s friends with Dash. But one Rocky montage later and he’s fine. Through the rest of the week, he also gets to know the other guys on the football team after practice, and discovers they’re pretty cool. (They bring up that they were curious about that kid Dash talks about all the time, and Danny doesn’t know what to do about that.)

At some point Kwan and Tucker get to talking, and Kwan reveals that he’d kind of rather be doing the band stuff than football. That kicks off the friendship between them that stays for the rest of the series.

During The Big Game™ against their rival school district (their team name is the Crackers or the Honkies or something), it’s discovered that the mascot suit is haunted. I’m not sure what exactly it does, because I don’t want to make it either to corny or too creepy, but basically chaos descends upon the game.

At some point the Ravens and the [derogatory name for white people] decide to just use the mascot as the ball after Tucker is extracted, and Events Happen in such a way that Danny has to go ghost to help, since he can’t be seen using his powers in public. Which leads to this

and Phantom and Dash teaming up to stop the mascot.

The Ravens are deemed triumphant and the trio’s invited to the party at Dash’s house. It goes well, but everyone’s talking about the ghost kid who showed up-- especially Dash, who’s still starstruck.

The whole episode is probably the closest to canon it gets tonally, just with an extra spritzing of The Gay Agenda for flavor.
