Drow Lore 🕷️ Favors and Debts

Huh... Apparently, highborn drow tend to take exchange of favors and debts very seriously:

(from Drow of the Underdark, 3.5e) The interesting thing about this system of boons is that drow actually prefer to pay off their debts as soon as possible. For a drow, having too many obligations hanging over one’s head is tantamount to political and social suicide. (...) cannot afford to directly challenge anyone to whom (...) owes a great favor, for fear of that favor being called in and ruining one of (...) ongoing schemes. One might imagine that the drow would simply ignore these commitments, but despite their selfish nature, very few actually do so.

Normally, these social rules probably do not apply to non-drow. Still, perhaps it could explain, in a way, Nere's unexpectedly polite "I owe you a debt" attitude (after Tav tells him the truth about the Absolute and manages to convince him to leave the cult)... and that dagger +1.
