Her
Colby brock x reader
Warnings:cheating,lying, argument/yelling. DARK ENDING! reference to murder.
Note: I made up a chacter for the other girl, because I feel its weird to write colby cheating with girls he has explicitly said are just friends, also the same reason I don't write ship fanfic, only x reader.
Your pov
I walk straight into the door of mine and colby's shared apartments, fans had dmed me pictures of colby with my bestfriend, Miley, it wasn't just a normal picture, they were kissing. Silent tears run down my face as I slowly creep up the stairs towards our bedroom, I crack the door open to look inside. There she is, and there he is, now reality is really setting in, I hoped that maybe the pictures were edited, but no, he's making out with her all right. Fuck, there goes our relationship. I open the door the rest of the way, "so, I see you guys decided to get along, maybe in the wrong way, but you get along" I say, trying to stay calm, my voice cracks at the end of my statement.
Colby pulls his face away from here's to look at me. Miley stares at me in shock, I shake my head and walk in and begin to gather my things, hoping I wouldn't have to make a scene. "Y/N WAIT" colby shouts, okay I'm making a scene.
"WHAT!? WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT AFTER MOST LIKELY FUCKING NY BESTFREIND!?" I yell Back, glaring at miley. Colby looks down,ashamed.
"I'm sorry y/n I really am, but he just looked so good that night" miley says, he sly smirk displayed on her face. My face twists into realization.
"The night I invited you over to Sam's for pizza night? YOU FUCKED MY BOYFRIEND!?" I yell, confused,heartbroken, and pissed.
"Yeah, he was pretty good too" miley says, a small smile still stuck in her face. Tears bubble in my eyes, I'm not sure out of the feeling of betrayal, or anger.
"Out, get out" miley didn't move a muscle, "I SAID GET THE FUCK OUT YOU WHORE!" I scream pointing to the door. She scoffs and leaves, colby stakes a few steps torwards me with his arms open, about to hug me. "Don't, fucking don't, you dont get to act like nothing happened, oh and you can thank your fans for letting me know." I star to cry harder as I throw my stuff into a duffle bag. "How long? How many times, how many times have you ditched me or sam, or kat for her?" I ask, honestly not wanting to fight, just wanting answers. He opens his mouth to answers but stays silent.
"Do you still love me?" He asks, a singular tear falling down his face. I close my eyes and take a deep breath.
"Of course I still love you, how could I not, we've been together since highschool, but trusting you is a different matter, you know how long it takes me to trust somebody, and I trusted the both of you." I say, my voice wavers.
He nods and walks out. That was the last time I ever saw colby. I miss him dearly, it's not my fault, people say his blood is on my hands, it was, it sure was, but blood doesn't stain skin. If only they would find miley too, I'm sure they'd be surprised to see where I hid her.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
What did you guys think? I think this is the darkest thing I've ever written. Requests are open!

a tiny scare || c.b.
summary: while on an investigation with sam and colby, you decide to play a harmless prank on them requested by anonymous. imagine this taking place during the video snc did at celina's home.
“alright, that was the main house. i’m gonna take you guess to the guest house now.” celina said. kris followed closely behind her, then sam, and you and colby were bringing up the rear.
“you doing okay?” colby asked you, draping his arm over your shoulder.
“yeah! i think being with such a big group has settled my nerves.” you said, leaning into his side. this was your first investigation trip you’d taken with sam and colby in a good while, so you’d been a bit nervous.
“good. i don’t want to put you you in anything that may make you uncomfortable.” he said, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
you arrived at celina’s guest house, after a bit of a trek through the woods.
“alright, one of us has to explore the woods alone tonight.” sam blurred out, camera flipping towards the dark expanse of woods. silently, everyone placed their fingers on the tips of their nose. unfortunately, you didn’t realize what was happening until it was too late.
“aw, dammit.” you sighed, stomping your food. “i need to just start leaving my hand on my face for times like this.” you joked.
you walked around celina’s guest house for a bit while she showed you around, and telling you about experiences she’d heard her friends tell her about. you had a bit of an uneasy feeling while you walked around, but it subsided.
once you were done in the house, the five of your stepped out onto the porch. you all stared silently out into the woods.
“you don’t actually have to go, if you don’t want to.” sam said, putting down the camera.
“no, it’s okay. i came on this trip to have the experience, and this is part of it.” you said, taking the extra camera from colby. you turned it on, along with the light, and made your way into the forest.
as you walked deeper and deeper into the trees, your group getting smaller and quieter the more you walked. you were scared at first, mainly due to you being alone in the woods.  but after a while, you started to feel a bit more comfortable. there was really no paranormal reasons for you to be scared, and you were felling a bit of comfort being able to talk to the camera in front of you. you were no longer vulnerable, and actually feeling quite good.
so good, in fact, you decided you were going to play a little prank on your friends. by this time, you were already far enough out of ear shot that they wouldn’t hear you talking to the camera.
“yeah, like i said. i don’t really think anything is out here. or, at least not anything that wants to talk to me.” you said to the camera. “that being said, im in a silly goofy mood, and i want to get everyone back for making me do this.” you laughed into the lens. you took a few more steps before stopping you took a deep breath, entirely filling your lungs before letting out the loudest scream you could muster up. you stood there for a bit before you started to make your way out of the woods. the closer you got to the clearing where the guest house was, you heard your name being called. you put on your best “scared” expression before you were met with colby’s face. his face was pale white, and his eyes were as wide as golf balls.
“oh no, now i fell bad.” you thought to yourself as he pulled you into his arms.
“oh, im so glad you’re okay! we heard this scream, and we didn’t know if that was you.” he said, peppering kisses along your cheeks and forehead. “did you hear it?” he asked, hands still flush against your cheeks. you swallowed hard before answering.
“no? it was dead silent the whole time i was out there.” you lied through your teeth.
“seriously? you didn’t hear anything? it was the loudest scream ever.” sam said to you, the camera pointing in your direction. you just shook your head, committing to your lie.
the rest of the night everyone was on edge. you for a different reason from the rest of the group, but still.
a few weeks passed, and you were sitting in the living room of sam and colby’s house, a book in your lap while the boys were editing. they were editing the video you filmed at celina’s home. you were startled out of the chapter you were reading when you heard colby calling out for you upstairs.
“down here!” you called back, setting your book down. “what’s up?” you asked as he sat on the couch with you. he handed you his phone, pressing play on the video that was on his screen. you stared down at your face smiling back at you, the clip of your scream beginning to play. colby looked at you without saying anything, swiping to the next video on his phone. it was a clip from sam’s camera, footage taken at the same time as yours. he pressed play, the same scream heard in the background. you avoided his gaze, knowing that you would fold as soon as you opened your mouth.
“you wanna tell me what this is?” he asked, and you just shook your head.
“i think you already know.” you said quietly, suppressing a laugh.
“why would you do this to me? i've been worried about you the whole time since we been back, thinking that something happened to you that you’ve been avoiding talking about.”
“i’m sorry.” you spilled. “i felt guilty as soon as you came up to me that night, but i didn’t want to admit to it at the time.” you laughed uncomfortably. “but that’s what you get when you play nose goes without calling nose goes!”
colby just laughed and rolled it eyes. “you've been with me long enough to expect that from us.”
“yeah, but it’s still not fair when you don’t actually call nose goes.”
“okay, but we told you that you didn’t have to do it if you didn’t want to.”
“but then i wouldn’t have been able to plan my devious prank.” you laughed.
“oh, okay.” he said sarcastically.
“i didn’t mean to worry you.” you said, taking his hand in yours. “i really just meant for it to be a harmless little jokey joke.”
“it’s okay. i just felt like i need to protect you. i know you don’t need my protection, but i always want to be there for you. especially when you may have been going through something that happened while i was around, or during an investigation. i’d feel responsible, and so guilty.” he said.
“i know, and i hear you. i will always appreciate that you’re always quick to want to protect me.”
“i love you.” he said, lifting your hand to his lips, pressing a kiss to the back of it.
“i love you.” you repeated, flashing him a smile. he leaned over and pressing a few kisses to your lips before getting up from the couch and leaving you back to your book.

𝙣𝙤𝙣 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 | jake webber x ghost fem reader
Tumblr media
summary: jake, and the rest of the boys go to the biltmore hotel for a video on sam and colbys channel, what happens when they encounter a ghost, you, and he doesn't believe in it? you get irritated and start to mess with the boy a/n: warning for description of a murder, angsty+ i love the concept of the whole platonic ghost stuff i think its really cute words: 4.2k
the boys walked down the miserable hallway of the biltmore hotel, no color or sense of life near. sam squinted, pointing to a small plaque that reads, 'presidential suite'. colby followed behind with the camera, filming as they joked and made references.
as they arrived at the white door, the blonde opening it, everyone was in awe. the modernness mixed with the older architecture caught them off guard. peering in, they became speechless at the size of the room. "oh my god." he said, turning on the slight switch.
"what the hell this looks like our house." jake comments, taking in the white marble floor, and grand doorway.
"oh my god, there's- oh my god." corey mumbled, never having seen something so special.
"there's a library!" sam gestured to it, before they discovered it was a second story hotel room. they stepped down the spiral staircase, into the darkness of the lower floor.
jakes hands slid down the railing, it ominously chilling. he quickly realized how heavy the air was. he slowly shuffled into the shadow, noticing the muted colors of the wallpaper.
in a matter of seconds, a shiver ran down his spine, and his heart began to race. he felt a strange wetness on his forehead. touching it, he realized it was a trickle of sweat.
how was he sweating in this moment? jake was freezing, goosebumps beginning to form on his arms, it didn't piece together. he didn't like whatever he was feeling, and stepped back next to corey.
colby called out from on the bottom step of the stairs, confused why everyone was just standing rather than finding a light.
he shook his head. "colby, come down here, go into that room with the light off." him and corey encouraged.
"i literally got scared when i went into it." jake admitted, usually never being effected by the paranormal this intensely.
colby sighed, before walking towards the next room. he closed his eyes for a second, immediately feeling what the other had, and he retreated back to the group, frightened. "i just got chills, man." he mumbled.
"no seriously, this downstairs is weird" sam stated, touching the walls as he tried to locate the switch, before giving up and using lanterns.
they began to explore the large area, feeling a change in the atmosphere. colby observed a door he hadn't spotted before. he called over his friends, before creaking open the door softly.
sam realized that the room was on both of the most haunted floors, making it a point to the camera.
as the boys investigated the room, either messing with the antique elevator, or opening closets and cracking jokes, you stirred.
hearing a boisterous laugh, your mind became conscious, tuning into the howls from below. feeling slightly disoriented from being forcibly awoken, you were irritated to say the least.
not only did these people intrude into your hotel room, they had the nerve to be deafening.
you closed your metaphorical eyes, you imagined yourself elsewhere, wishing out of all places your spirit was attached to it wasn't this one.
the laughs stopped, and you propped an eye open, confused. then you heard the same voices, but in a much more professional tone. they sounded like poor actors. if they were actors in your day, they would not succeed.
their serious voices sounded immature, they weren't even using the correct grammar, infact things they said didn't sound like words.
typically, when people stayed in the presidential suite, you tried to keep distance, not wanting to intimidate them, however these people had you drawn in.
soon enough, it was completely silent and you heard the door shut to the hotel. they had left, most likely to explore. as they were talking to something, it almost sounding like an audience, you overheard them and assumed they were ghost hunters of some sort.
perhaps you should follow, you thought to yourself.
over the years of being attached to the biltmore hotel, many paranormal investigators have come and gone, and most times they call out for you. feeling the need to impress and give these peoples lives meaning, you'll normally mess with their devices or move things around the room.
you've met some determined and cool individuals, and only wished you could leave like them, the thing you despised most was being stuck here.
the closest thing to leaving, was trailing behind guests and pretending you could be apart of their life. so you did was you generally do and follow along.
finally coming close to them, you saw their faces. you predicted they were all the same age, maybe a year or so apart at the most, probably in their very early twenties, and that they had been friends for some time.
you could see the faded yellow aura that hung around them, indicating they had a close friend relationship. looking even closer you saw purple floating with them too, a sign that they were fearful of what's to come.
one thing about them you couldn't understand. a blonde boy was holding onto a piece of equipment, you assumed a camera, but the odd thing about it was how they all looked into it and made conversation, as if there was a bunch of small people inside.
you weren't born dead yesterday, you understood that there was now something labeled as the internet, and that there was social media, however you couldn't acknowledge all of it, your mind not capable. so you moved on, and just tried to learn about the camera on the way.
the group had eventually gotten around, looking into tunnels and secret spaces around the area, and figured they should take a break to eat and relax.
once they all sat on the couches that were organized infront of the television, the camera was put away and they began chatting about their experiences around the hotel so far.
three of the guys were discussing how they felt a negative vibe, and that they were slightly frightened and creeped out already and the night had just begun.
you took note of how one of them was less enthusiastic, and scrolling on his smartphone. just by observing him, and watching his movements, it was clear he was a non believer, or atleast a stubborn skeptic. "i think you guys are overthinking it." he stated, putting down the phone.
"jake, are you going to tell me this place doesn't scare you?" sam questioned, pulling out the camera to record his thoughts.
"it doesn't. i mean think about it, tons of presidents and celebrities have stayed here, they think it's luxury. why would they stay here if it was haunted?" you thought about his logic and agreed with it, you would probably think the same as him.
"so you don't believe the hotel is haunted at all?" colby leaned in, eager to hear.
jake glanced around the room before answering a very simple, "i don't."
you furrowed your eyebrows, glaring at the boy infront of you. you stood, feet hovering above the carpeted ground. to say you were offended was an understatement.
it had been a long while since someone denied not just your existence, but all of the spirits that reside here, and honestly it had your old blood boiling. it felt like a competition to you, something that had to be proven.
you floated around the room, merging down to the lower floor to mess with something. eyes glancing, they finally landed onto the rustic old elevator that had previously given them chills.
focusing on the door, you used your energy to open it, and to rattle the guard on it. a misconception that has been passed around that you hated, was how ghosts physically touch and throw things.
it was a lot more difficult than that. you had to focus, and think about it occurring, which cost you a lot of your energy, energy that you only got back from resting.
"guys, guys, holy fuck." sam turns on the camera out of fear after hearing an eerie noise that broke the calm ambiance. they exchanged frightened but curious glances, wondering what the sound could have been.
"did you fucking hear that?" colby asked frantically, looking around the room. you enjoy the panic on their faces as they start going downstairs, so you move the fencing again.
the noise persisted, and crude waves of unease gradually wash over them, sam running down the stairs, his face fraught with urgency. as he got to the bottom, he froze in his tracks, eyes widening with trepidation. "oh god."
corey gasped. "the doors open!" he pointed across the hallway, directly where you stood.
you held your breath and scooted away as jake took your spot next to the elevator. it had been awhile since you were that close to someone, you never liking the feeling of them passing by or through you.
"wasn't it closed?" corey exclaimed, keeping his distance.
"we would've closed it right?" sam said, everyone mutually agreeing but still indistinct. he walked over to the spot, and started rocking the guard back and forth, making the exact unwavering sound you did.
you hovered near jake, and tried to touch into his emotions. he paused for a moment, chills running down his limbs. suddenly, a very unsettling feeling hits him, and all the hair on his body stands up.
it was a similar feeling to what he felt earlier, but more personal. the fear he felt was heavy, and the air quickly became thick like before. he coughed slightly, almost like someones hand floated around his throat.
he coughed again, this time everyone taking notice. they were very panicked by this situation, and distracted. "you okay, brother?" colby asked, putting a hand on the other's shoulder. he responded while nodding.
in reality he wasn't. he felt like someone was watching him, goosebumps began spreading around his skin and he kept shivering regardless of his sweater.
you watched as chaos ensued, the boys going through all of the rooms on the lower floor, looking for something that could tell them where the noises had come from.
they had stopped to converse, realizing how extreme they were being, and before they could even say a word, you were meddling around upstairs, touching a few keys on the grand piano.
you heard them panic once more, even jake confessing his fear. you sighed of relief, it was just what you wanted. you took a seat on the couch the boy had been laying on before this all happened, and leaned back, kicking your legs up.
watching them discuss what they thought the second noise was, the skeptical boy knew it was a piano, he felt it, and you were proud of him, clapping to yourself.
continuing to mess with them slightly, you found it entertaining for awhile, until it got sad to you. you never want people to fear you, you always identified as friendly to people who stayed in the room, and you knew you were just messing with them to prove jake wrong but they didn't know that.
so when you heard they were doing a seance, you beamed, because then you could hopefully let them know it was just for fun, and that you were harmless.
you were buzzing with excitement as you drifted down the hall, into the direction of the dining room. it had been a long time since you last had contact with people. the suite left unbooked for a few months, you wondered how expensive it was to rent now.
as the four boys set up their camera equipment and seance supplies, your translucent figure flickered with jolts of energy, and you waited in anticipation for it to begin.
you watched as they turned off the lights, and lit candles in between them. they flickered, providing mere glimpses of desolate space. shadows danced ominously along the walls, distorting objects into strange shapes that seemed to taunt their senses.
"we promised in our last video we were going to do a seance." sam spoke dully. "and.. we're going to do a seance."
"do we want to do this seance? not really." colby shrugged at the situation, looking at the lit candles.
they huddled against the table, and whispered words of encouragement to each other as sam attempted to google ways to begin such a powerful ritual.
jake glanced at them before wondering. "how do we as humans, decide how to correctly summon something?" he asked, not understanding.
"we don't." the other responded, still scrolling on his phone.
"i don't think anyone truly knows, so as long as we ya'know have the feeling of believing in something, trying to communicate with something no matter what. if something wants to talk to us they will.: he explains, making you smile.
as much as a skeptical he seems to be, everything he's telling the others is correct. as they discussed more, you listened, so curious in what people think about ghosts.
you could only briefly remember what you thought about them before passing, but as time goes on, your memories of being alive fade away, leaving you with gaps of confusion.
wanting to get a better view, you perched yourself on top of the chandelier, accidentally swaying it slightly. you cursed when corey noticed, this time not trying to mess with them.
they extended their hands. "if there's someone here, please use our energy to communicate with us." they spoke together, corey still noticing the light shaking. he pointed up at it, and called your actions out.
you started feeling anxious, and floated away from it, going to stand near jake and colby. within seconds, the latter raised his arm to show his goosebumps to the others.
both feeling the cold breeze, and the candles flickering slighty, the boys looked to eachother before brushing it off, and continuing with the seance. they all closed their eyes, squeezing them shut as they focused intently. "if you are here, use our energy to make a second or sign." they spoke together.
as the group sat at the table in a circle, hands intertwined, the air grew still. you hovered around the table, across from jake. you were watching him carefully. his eyes began to open, and they widened.
a chill rushed down his spine, struck with horror. he saw a translucent form, face contorted with a large grin. you looked at him questioningly, wondering why he was looking in your direction, before taking a peek behind you out of curiosity.
after seeing nothing, you realized he was looking directly into your eyes. "holy fuck." he muttered, gaining his friends attention. "holy-holy fuck." he stood up, his legs pushing his chair back. he pointed to you, and you felt an aching feeling.
"what, what is it jake?" sam asked, looking around. the pain overtook your body, making you scatter away out of sight. jake blinked frantically, and you were no longer there.
"did you guys not see that?" his heart was beating fast, and his body trembling, knees threatening to give out. a soft tear even left his eye.
"see what? oh my god are you okay?" colby inquired, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"i-i." the boy couldn't even speak, in terror. what was worst is that he couldn't tell if his mind had played tricks with him, or if what he saw was true. "i saw.. i saw someone, something."
"what?" corey exclaimed, backing away from where he was sitting.
"it was a weird shadow figure, she had long dark hair, i- i don't know what just happened. i swear i was looking at her, and then it was like she saw that i saw her, and she disappeared."
when he had looked into your eyes, he felt such an odd connection to you, even with his frightened appearance, inside he felt drawn.
"are you a medium or something?" sam asked, trying to joke a bit. he knew his friend was a skeptic, so him coming out and saying something like this was out of the ordinary.
whatever had happened, had corey scared, so scared that he quit the seance, and decided to sit a chair away, no longer holding hands and chanting. "should we keep going?" colby asked, jake nodding desperately.
taking a few minutes to calm down, they restarted. and since corey had finished being apart of the activity, they figured they might as well use the oujia board for content purposes.
you began to cry in the other room, curling your body into a ball. you couldn't believe what had just happened. for the first time ever, in 20 years, something impossible occurred. someone had seen you.
never wanting to be the source of fear and panic, this had broken you. they thought you were a malevolent spirit, that you were scary. suddenly, you felt yourself being pulled back to the dining room, almost like someone was dragging you.
you tried to fight it until it was physically taking you away. once you entered, it was obvious the boy could no longer see you. he looked across the room, seeing nothing.
feeling another jolt, you take notice at the oujia board and planchette, and realized why you were being attracted to it. they were calling out for you again, trying to speak with you.
"if there is a spirit here, can you please use this oujia board to communicate with us." colby spoke, looking at everyone fingers on the planchette.
you begin to push it to yes, and observe as their eyes widen. "is this who i saw a second ago?" jake wondered aloud. you sighed, pushing it to yes before spelling out 'sorry'.
they faced eachother. "what does that mean?" sam asked to them, before gazing around the area. "what are you sorry for?"
using energy to move it, you spelt out the word scared, hoping they would understand. the boys discussed this, finally agreeing that you were apologizing for scaring them. "are you sorry for scaring me? for showing yourself?"
"yes." you mumbled aloud, and he heard it. he jumped up, trying to spot where you were, giving up when he couldn't see you.
"i heard you!" jake commented. "can you show yourself to me again?" you talked to him through the board. spelling 'don't know.'
"you don't know how? is that why you were shocked when you realized he saw you?" colby questioned, earning a yes from the board.
"what's your name?" jake asked.
"y/n." you tried to say strongly, only coming out as a soft whisper.
"y/n." he repeated, nodding to his friends. "your name is y/n." he paused, taking a deep breath, before feeling you stand by him. "a-are you near me right now?"
you whispered into his ear, brushing it gently. "yes." he gasped, moving back.
"she's right beside me." he told them, before revealing his goosebumps.
"are you friendly?" corey asked, from outside the seance. the planchette moved to yes, you running out of energy.
"i mean atleast that's good." sam muttered.
jake felt an odd feeling, attracted to your spirit. he felt connected to you, to your energy. he breathed shakily, before opening his eyes again, seeing you next to him. he tried to stay calm, and smiled towards you.
you giggled, smiling back, and giving a gentle wave, making him do the same. you held your hand up, and he understood. both of you tried to touch hands, like a high five.
you both gasped, you moving back at what had just happened. his hand didn't go through yours, it touched it. you felt how human and alive his skin was, you could feel his pulse from it, and he had felt a cold, hard feeling. "oh my god." he spoke. "guys, i'm touching her.. her hand is cold."
corey took a step back holding his hands up. "what the fuck is going on?!" he shouted, making you flinch. "jake, i swear to god if you're fucking with us for a prank, i'm leaving." he threatened, seriously scared.
"i-i i'm not, i don't know how this is happening." he replied. "can you do this with them?"
you shook your head, not understanding how you made this happen. "then can you show them a sign? a sign that you're real?" you nodded hesitantly. "okay.. hmm." he looked around the hotel. "can you knock on the door right there?"
hovering, you traveled to the door, and tapped on it aggressively, earning shocked faces from the group. "i can't believe this is happening." sam stated to the camera, before seeing that it was off. "what the hell?" he took a closer look, and groaned, throwing his hand out. "the fucking camera turned off."
"how long ago?" colby wondered, earning a shrug. "fuck." he muttered, knowing that a lot of good content could've been gone.
as sam tried to fix it, everyone else was focused on the oujia board, as it took less energy. "how old are you?" corey asked. it spelled out 19.
"i didn't realize you were that young." jake spoke. "what happened to you?"
having to think about your death was the most painful thing for you. it was the only memory from when you were alive that you could remember every detail to, so prominent in your mind.
almost there decades ago, 1986, you were set to be married to an american man, and you were waiting for him to return in the presidential suite.
it was a stormy evening, the wind howling outside of the biltmore, one of the most prestigious hotels. as rain beat against the windows, the sound of the raindrops hitting the panes was almost deafening and you had been feeling anxious, almost as if there was a foreboding presence looming over you.
you shivered, feeling cold and uneasy, wrapping a blanket over your body as you sipped from your mug.
an unexpected sense of dread washed over you and before you could comprehend what was happening, a shadow like figure lunged at you from the darkness, catching you off guard.
the mug slipped out of your trembling hands, crashing onto the marble floor into pieces. fear consumed you, as you desperately fought back, adrenaline surging through your veins.
you screamed, calling out for help. your hopeless pleas for mercy echoed against the dull walls before falling on deaf ears. in the chaos of the struggle, you fell into a table, trying to escape from them.
quickly, the masked assailant unleashed a relentless barrage of fueled strikes, their anger mingling with the terror that gripped your soul.
time lost all meaning as each thrust of the blade hit your chest, crimson streaks tainted the white floor, becoming a silent witness. and in your final moments alive, choking and spitting up blood, your twitching arm reached up and swatted at the person.
you heard a deformed laugh, before your world subsided into darkness, your spirit fading into the ethereal realm, and that's all you remember before you woke up disoriented, and realized you had died.
tears welled in your eyes, as you sobbed, face red and swollen. jake saw your pained expression, and in seconds your memories entered his mind, leaving him the same irregular breathing and gasps.
he tried explaining to his friends what you had gone through, them still hesitant to believe in this crazy experience. "i'm so sorry." he cried out to you.
he couldn't believe how you died, and how he just got your memories, or how he could see and hear you. he felt insane.
"guys this is serious, i don't know what to do anymore." sam said, looking at the boy. "we should end this."
"brother do you understand how crazy this is? you need to.. you need to get help, or see a medium or something." corey shrugged, shaking his head.
"i agree with sam we should end whatever this is, it's taking a toll on you jake."
"guys i can't just leave her now, i have to keep talking to her. if you want you can go watch tv or something but this is important to me now. i promise you guys i'm fine, i just.. i have.. i have to do this." he begged.
"jake.." sam trailed off. "okay. as long as you promise you're okay, like don't get obsessed with this. don't be too much longer, it's already almost 5 in the morning."
"i promise." jake nodded, watching as they left the room, corey not understanding why he would do something like this.
you two looked at eachother, before trying to catch your breath. "what is it like being a ghost?" he asked, attempting to improve the mood.
"sad." you whispered, lips chapped. "stuck."
"you're stuck here?" he repeated, earning a nod. "how do you get out?" you shrugged at him. he sighed, apologizing.
you sat together in deep silence. many would think it was awkward or uncomfortable but it was calm and peaceful. the fact someone could see and know you for the first time since you died, made you feel happy, like you had a friend.
he continued to talk to you and keep you company for awhile, feeling guilty that he had to leave in a few hours. you understood he did, knowing it wouldn't last forever but that didn't mean it didn't hurt.
"i'm sorry you're stuck here. i hope you find your way out or to the real afterlife so you can leave this boring place." he comforted you.
"it's okay." you smiled. finally being able to share your story was enough. you felt your body becoming numb from being so giddy. "visit."
"i'll visit you again, don't worry." he hums. "i feel like we're connected, like you'll always be attached to me." making you nod.
the two of you shared an oddly comforting hug, before he had to leave. you followed their group to the hotel lobby, and unlike most times when you went down there, there wasn't a pull.
so when you continued to follow them and you weren't stuck in place, the happiness came back, and you started to cry once more. you watched them drive away, feeling in debt to jake for how much relief he gave you.
you've gained your freedom after 30 years of being stuck in the hotel you were brutally murdered in. "thank you jake." you murmured, before floating away, the happiest you've ever been.

Fear Me || c.b. x reader
prompt: Colby is there for you when the Stanley hotel becomes too much.
tw/cw: violence, angst-y(?), mainly cute protective colby.
Tumblr media
photo is not mine, found on Pinterest
a/n: this is for @tealeyewonder, ty for requesting this! it was fun to write & I hope you enjoy <3
*
It wasn’t long after you all had arrived that shit began to happen. In fact, it took exactly five minutes into filming for Amanda, Mackie and yourself to begin hesitating in proceeding with the investigation.
The guys—per usual—begged for you all to stick around just “a little longer!” And so here you five were; vibrating with adrenaline and high off of the aura that the hotel room reeked in.
“Colbs, I’m serious. Are you sure we should continue?” you and colby are isolated from the others, pressed against the entrance, just outside of the shared—and one of the infamously haunted—room 428.
He reaches a hand into your hair and tugs a lock behind your ear, breaking the silence with a gentle and monosyllabic “it’s fine.”
With an eye roll, you shovel your hands into the depths of your jacket’s pockets and drill your gaze into him. Seemingly prepared for your rebuke, Colby proceeds with a cautionary voice.
“I promise I won’t let anything happen to you, okay? It’ll just be for a few more hours and then if you really want to, we can find another hotel nearby and book it. Free of ghosts, alright?”
Sighing in defeat, you settle for his reassurance and choose to remain as calm as you can for the rest of the night in the hotel—albeit still littered with deafening ghost trails and paranormal activity.
*
Colby’s voice resonates around the room as he recites an excerpt from some sort of yelp review left by previous guests of the hotel. The girls and yourself huddle together in front of where he sits on the mattress, watching and listening intently.
“It’s said for a male entity to lean over female guests and..” he quirks a brow and chuckles before continuing, “tries to kiss them.”
“What?” You blurt, eyes enlarging in size before the other two girls are laughing. “Naughty ghosts!” You say jokingly.
“Maybe we should dress up as girls tonight?” Colby jokes, and you all begin to feel the air purify it’s way into peace as you continue.
Suddenly, you all decide to move toward the lone, dark and eerie corners of the Hotel, the staircase which is known for its Vortex.
There, Amanda retells a memory of having imagined an entity following Colby around. Shocked, you latch onto his arm and give him a shake.
“Shit, you’re gonna attract all the ghosts tonight!”
His face replicates mortification as the rest of you laugh cheerfully, silently wishing for the idea of your boyfriend having an attachment to fall through.
“There’s definitely someone here already but I can’t make out who it is exactly. They keep hiding behind the handrails.” Amanda states, pointing at the solid fixture just behind you and Colby. Mackey agrees with a hum and drags her gaze elsewhere.
“It feels.. strange.” You murmur, looking at yourself in the reflection of the mirrors. Colby appears behind you, circling your waist with his arms and smiling contently.
“Oh definitely, but look at how cute we look!”
“Colby.” You smack at his shoulder. “Really?”
“What? It’s true.”
“Alright I say we move back to the room and get some footage of the rem pod.” Sam appears from behind you two and the group agrees.
*
“Great,” colby says after he’s finished setting up the equipment. “Again, if anything comes and touches this device it’ll light up and make a bunch of noise.”
You all nod in understanding, deciding to stand a good distance away from the footing of the bed where the device lies. Instantly, the REM Pod goes off, the red light shining along with it.
“Hello?” Sam greets, mouth wide open in shock. “Do you recognize us? We’ve been here before..”
“Nah, he only cares about girls, man!” Colby jokes, though the device begins sounding off. The girls and yourself move back, stunned at the reaction.
“Holy shit, did it just agree with what you said?” You look over to Colby in surprise. He nods, just as startled as you.
“Do you like girls? Kissing them?” You ask, biting your lip in anxiousness.
The device goes off.
“Do you like us being here?” Amanda asks.
It’s silent.
The five of you share a look before Sam continues. “Can you do something to show us who you are? Are you Flora?”
You room stills, air suddenly thickening with something akin to a suffocating material being held against your face. You blanch are the feeling, trying your best to shake it off until there’s a bang just inches behind you.
The five of you turn in fear and you immediately dart to Colby’s side, feeling an intense amount of pressure in your head. “Okay guys, my head is seriously killing me.”
Mackie gasps, pointing a finger in your direction while moving closer to you. Colby wraps an arm around your middle, turning you to face him as he analyzes your features.
“Your nose is bleeding,” he notes aloud and you frown. “Are you okay?”
“No I just—I don’t know? I felt weird and then the noise happened.” You explain, holding a napkin to your nose that Mackie had gotten for you. Sam brings the camera close to your face, to which you scowl at.
“Dude, give me space will you?” You mutter and Sam apologizes, moving away and pointing the camera towards the other girls instead.
Colby worries his lip, chewing at the skin with a drive to settle his concern. You pat his shoulder, reassuring him that you’re fine.
The series of questions continue but still, your headache worsens and the air doesn’t feel any lighter.
“Did you follow us from somewhere else?” Sam questions. There’s a pregnant pause before the device begins going off. You make eye contact with Amanda as she steps forward to shut off the device.
“That’s enough,” she states firmly, eyeing the duo before requesting the cameras to be turned off. Sam agrees begrudgingly, moving to sit on the edge of the mattress along with Colby and Mackie. You and Amanda stand close, her hand wrapping around your wrist protectively.
“I don’t feel safe here anymore. I think we should take a break.” She says and Colby tilts his head, brows furrowed.
“Why? What’s wrong?”
“There’s something here and I don’t want to talk about it.” Amanda huffs, looking towards the door. You distribute your weight from one foot to another anxiously.
“Maybe we could come back later? Let’s just take a breather outside—“
“Y/N, what’s on your arm?” Sam ponders and reaches to bring you closer to the flashlight.
You look down and notice a slew of thinly sourced abrasions on your forearm. “What the hell?”
“This isn’t right, we have to go.” Amanda urges, to which you all hurriedly concur, rushing for escape.
It’s when you’re one foot out of the door that you’re suddenly shoved and sent crashing into Colby’s back. Being the last one out, you physically startle and feel your hands beginning to tremble.
“I just—it just pushed me,” you stammer, eyes darting behind you to where the door to the room is shut. Amanda pulls you in close and recites a quick prayer before pulling you into her embrace.
After everything that had happened to you, Colby had had enough. His body began to boil with a protective instinct as he rushed back into the room, heart slamming against his chest.
“I dont care who you are or what you are, but you have no right to touch us. I didn’t give you permission and you sure as fucking hell don’t deserve it. You can’t follow us home and you better not follow us to any other location either.” He sneered, voicing his thoughts aloud to a visibly empty room.
“Colby,” Sam tries, placing a hand on his shoulder in attempt to pull him out, only to be shaken off and ignored when Colby continues.
“You could’ve touched me, hurt me, or whatever the fuck— but you touched Y/N and that’s where I draw the line. Get your disgusting ghoul fucking hands off of them and don’t ever touch them again.”
Staggering back with a winded breath, Colby returns to your side and holds you tightly between his arms. You reciprocate the action and try to smile, though it comes out as more of a lopsided grin.
“Thank you, colby.” You manage to utter from where he holds you against his chest. He sighs, clearly affected by your experience. You nudge him off gently before pulling him along with the rest of the group; moving to the entrance of the hotel without hesitation and making a beeline to the car.
“I’m so sorry I couldn’t protect you,” Colby murmurs once you’ve all packed into Sam’s rented vehicle. You and Colby sit thigh to thigh in the farthest pair of seats. “I promised I would.”
“Colby, it isn’t your fault. Amanda didn’t even know what it was, so seriously.. you couldn’t have known that was going to happen.” You ease his worry with a hand to his leg, rubbing miscellaneous shapes into the fabric of his jeans.
“I just wish it didn’t happen that way. I wanted this to be fun for you. And.. and I was hoping we could’ve had a small investigation together at some point in the night.”
If you didn’t know any better, you’d guess this was Colby’s attempt at convincing you that he’s fine. However, you know him all too well to know that his facade is weakening with every thought that washes through him. The pout in his voice is nearly visible before you’re leaning in to place a kiss to his cheek. Pulling his gaze to you by gripping his chin gently, you smile at him.
The soft look he shares with you is enough for you to see just how much love he holds for you in the blue ocean of his eyes. Inviting yourself to dive into him, you lean your head against his shoulder and pull his arm closer.
“You don’t always have to be the hero, Colby. I know you love and care about me, but there’s always going to be things that you just can’t protect me from.” You say, and feel his weight drop to comfort. Smiling to yourself, you squeeze his hand.
“I love you, and thank you for bringing me along today. Despite it all, I enjoyed my time spent hunting ghosts.. just.. maybe next time we won’t visit a spirit who seems to have it out for girls who are taken, hm?”
At that, Colby chuckles. His fingers intertwine with yours impossibly tighter and he leans down to kiss the crown of your head.
“I love you too. And I promise I won’t put you in any more danger. No more mean grumpy ghosts. Maybe just the creepy kid ones.”
“Sick, no.” Sam calls from the front of the car, and you all laugh.

The last time I stepped foot in this club, I was a shaking horrifyingly new green bean to the party space full of established content creators.
Now I couldn’t keep up with the amount of greetings and glances that shot my way. I kept a smile pulled at my painted lips even though I shook to my core. My heart raced under my ribs, and I desperately needed a drink in my hands to hide behind. I needed an anchor, I needed a place to stay comfortable and out of the spotlight tonight, I needed someone—to find something—
Maybe it had been months now—years—since I gained my own separate platform and business apart from my best friends, but I still felt dependent on them. I remember Sam and Colby posting these dumb videos back in high school and I roasted their asses for being dipshits on the internet.
I guess it paid off considering the room they gave to me in their new house. My room in their new house was bigger than my downtown apartment.
When they told me they were moving to LA, I remember standing shell shocked with questions. For how long? Why? Will I see them again—And then they asked me to live with them.
How much audacity did two boys have in order to ask the younger girl who followed them around like a lost puppy more often than not to move across the country with them?
They didn’t ask without giving me the ultimatum that I had to focus on my own content and actually post a video more often than every six months. I agreed because who wouldn’t try it out at least once? I was only nineteen so if it didn’t work out, I wouldn’t have wasted precious time. This was the time to bulldoze my way through questionable opportunities. Technically we were all kids still; they were 21, nearly 22, and I was told that girls’ brains don’t turn on until they are 24 and boys’ brains don’t turn on period.
I just didn’t expect for my channel to blow up alongside them. If they hit a milestone, I hit it six months later.
Now I was 24. They were 27. And life was still on an incline.
Everyday I was stunned by the achievements I somehow made. Perhaps authenticity and the exploitment of embarrassing universal experiences were things people my age really did want. I grew up imagining living the perfect life alongside the perfectly polished A list celebrities. I was nowhere near that and somehow, I had it so much better.
The major issue that I collided head on going 120 miles per hour wasn’t a massive internet scandal like I expected, but it was the way my stomach flipped when Sam looked at me from across the room.
Call it an overworked brain, call it a lack of sleep, or call it a lovelorn heart that was too afraid of being thrown away; whatever it was, it was out for blood. It made home in the fascia of my body.
God, nothing came of us in our past lives. Not when we found each other between classes in middle school. Not when we skipped school and whispered in the dark alleys of abandoned buildings. Not even when we woke up under the same roof like we always wanted. It was now. Now after the success, after the hard work.
We were stable.
Suddenly I had time. Suddenly I had some leeway where if something blew up in flames, I would be alright.
Now I was feeling risky, and somehow my stomach caught onto it.
”Oh my god, finally.” I heard the voice pierce through the thoughts I couldn’t shake myself. I turned to a red drink pressed to my nose. I grabbed it before it spilled down my front. “She wins a Streamy and suddenly is fashionably late.” I burst out laughing and hid my blush with my hand.
”Tara, shut the hell up.” She grabbed my wrist and that was when I found my anchor.
She led me to the table our friends parked at, and I sucked down the drink by the time we greeted each other. Two shots down and we gossiped like it was the end of the world. It felt like it. The colors in the dark room illuminated their eyes and sparkles in their eye make up, and I wondered if every night would feel like this as long as they were around.
It took years, but here I was finally surrounded by girls who accepted me, who I didn’t need to pretend around.
The problem was, they saw right through me.
“Oh my god!” Vereena gasped and raised her hand towards me. I turned to her in expectation. “I forgot to say—I saw you and Sam out on what, like Tuesday night or something?” My face flared at the name and my heart skipped a beat because yeah, we did do something on Tuesday night. To be fair, Colby was stressed sick and lying in bed all night trying to schedule meetings. He told us to leave him the fuck alone because if we stayed in the house, we all knew we would coax him into having fun like swimming in the pool at 2am in the dead of winter.
”You—What?” I laughed. “Stalking me, are you?”
“Me and Tara literally were meeting up,” she said as she lifted her hand to her. Tara laughed as she agreed with her and shook her head to intervene. “We stopped at the Trader Joe’s right there on the—the—and you guys were—“
”She’s right, I totally forgot. We got stuff for an apartment clean out night, and you and Sam were getting dinner or something.” I glared at Tara for egging this on.
”Colby needed us out of the house so we just got some food before we saw some friends—Why are you weaponizing this?”
”I’m not weaponizing,” she burst out laughing. “I’m just saying what a coincidence.” That toothy smirk and interlaced fingers made my eyes roll to the back of my head.
“You’re an idiot. We literally aren’t—“
“No one said anything about dating,” Tara said as she sipped her drink with raised brows. “Why did Colby even need you gone?”
“Don’t ask questions you don’t wanna know the answers to, Tar—“
“Uh no?” I laughed. “He was literally freaking out about getting shit done, I don’t fucking know—“
“Oh!” Tara gasped. “Speaking of—“
I stood straight as I felt arms around me. They came from around my neck and rested in front of me, face pressed against mine.
“Speaking of? What the hell does that mean?” Sam’s voice is loud in my ear and I drowned in it.
“Oh you know, just talking about Colby’s meltdown earlier this week,” Tara replied.
“Whoa, excuse me,” he said from behind Tara. She looked back at him with a laugh. “I literally was actually working unlike these bafoons.”
Good thing Sam pulled away and hugged the other girls at the table or else I would have collapsed.
“Oh so what you're saying is you kicked them out so they could go on a date, right?”
“What—“ Colby asked, completely taken off guard. “No? They got dinner then grabbed stuff for us to watch movies and actually chill. What do you mean date?”
“Oh my god Tara, you’re being weird,” I said, but as I looked at her, she shook her head with that pesky smile. I decided to interrogate her sometime before the night was over.
“How was last night?” Sam asked as he made his way back to me. I stayed with my best friend overnight after the party at her house because she was utterly blacked out. I was as well—don’t get me wrong—but she had a different kind of black out in her system.
“It was great, I don’t remember anything.”
“Jesus fuck,” he laughed. “At least you’re here in one piece—“ I didn’t miss the way his eyes trailed up and down my body. “—and she’s not, like, dead, yeah?”
“Yeah Sam, literally—I think we slept all day and Tara was the one who called us both over and over to make sure we were up before everyone came to get us ready.”
“You look really nice,” he said immediately after. My smile dropped.
“Thanks, you do too.”
And he pulled his hand away from my back; his palm grazed my arm as he stepped back. I didn’t realize he even held me there.
“I’m getting drinks, do you want something?”
“Yeah, whatever is fine.” He nodded and took other people’s drink orders before retreating to the bar.
I stood in disbelief that Tara said that. To Colby’s face as well. Now I retraced every step I took with Sam; perhaps it could have been taken like we were dating.
But we all knew we weren’t. We had been best friends since middle school. It was clear; none of us liked each other like that. That was how we stayed together for so long without heartbreak or problems.
So I wouldn’t allow it to be a problem, no, this feeling in my stomach might have confirmed Tara’s words, but it didn’t matter.
The words would never leave my mouth.
Colby caught himself in conversation a few tables over, and I stayed with Tara and our friends at the table for only a few more moments until Sam came back and slid me a drink.
Of course it was the drink I always ordered for myself. I didn’t have to ask for it anymore; obviously he had known it forever now. Tara eyed the drink, my face, the drink…
Sam left without a word and mingled with the same group Colby was in.
It got out of hand now, I knew, and Tara’s words made it much more tangible than it had to be. No one had said anything to my face—nor their faces—yet, and for it to happen so suddenly and during a time of weakness nearly broke me.
But how could I not let my body not react when I looked up and saw Sam as he spoke and laughed with friends? He looked too good tonight, he always did, but I never chalked it up to be this kind of good. His glasses, his hair, his face; so familiar but so different. Then his eyes caught mine. Fuck. Too pretty, too blue in the lights; his head leaned to the side in question.
I hardly finished two drinks but they had to have done something to me because what were these thoughts?
“You good?” I felt a hand on my arm.
“Totally! I was thinking that I’m bored,” I said as I looked at the girls.
“We’re waiting for a couple more then we were going to party, I promise!”
“You would be pregaming at the game wouldn’t you?” Vereena jeered, and while Tara glared at her, I laughed and grabbed my drink.
“When we’re ready, come and get me.”
“Sure thing!”
Who else was I to go to than the boys?
But Sam turned around and walked towards me before he noticed I was headed to them. I paused, and when he turned, he gasped and halted right in front of me.
“Oh hi,” he said quickly. “I was about to go so hi to some people, but—“
“Alright, I was just—“
“It’s fine, I haven’t seen you for like two days.” His arm linked around my neck and I rolled my eyes.
“Please, it was a night.”
“In the morning it will be two days.”
“Well, aren't you keeping track.”
“No,” he dragged out bashfully. We walked haphazardly from our friends and deeper into the club where the lights were far and few between and the music was louder until I felt it reverberating my teeth.
“Tara said I fuck ton,” he laughed.
“What are you talking about?” I shouted over the music. We caved into each other, my hand linked with his that was over my shoulder.
“She made fun of us being on a date right in front of Colby.” I looked at him with crazy eyes.
“What are you talking about? So we were on a date?” THat was when he smiled so wide his face flushed.
“No, nothing like that.”
“Nothing?” I gasped. “I mean, I don’t blame her, it was feeling kind of date-ish.”
“If you think that was a date then maybe you need to be shown what a real one is.” We stopped walking and I looked back at him with a smile fallen face.
“And you would be the one to show me?”
“I didn’t think you’d ever want to have this discussion.” His smile was long gone as well. We faced each other, so close that with one deep breath we would touch.
“I didn’t realize there was a discussion we needed to have.” He shook his head in defeat.
He took a deep breath then stepped away.
“Sam—“
“I don’t—You don’t—“
“I know,” I said firmly without breaking eye contact. “I know.” I repeated with more assurance than I ever felt before.
A second.
Another.
He inched closer.
He didn’t say anything. He didn’t smile and he didn’t look away. I swallowed down nothing—my tongue was so dry—but I looked back at him nonetheless. And then his hand came up and touched my face as if he couldn’t resist it. My hand held his wrist just in case he was an idiot and pulled away.
“You’re so dumb, such an idiot.”
“I’m an idiot?” I gasped. “You are! You’re the one who won’t look away from me and then have the audacity to call me an idiot when you want to kiss me so bad.” That cracked a small smile from him.
“No, I mean, in all places, you decide to let me kiss you for the first time in a dark club away from all our friends?”
“God, and we aren’t even drunk. What is wrong with us?”
He smiled widely before he grabbed my face with two hands and pulled me into a kiss.
Of course I held onto both of his wrists now—just in case he was an idiot for a second time since everyone knew he was—but this only caused him to step deeper into me and knock me off balance. I gasped against him only for his tongue to divide my lips and taste what was behind.
“Sam,” I gasped his name against his mouth and he only hummed into me. One of his hands fell down and held my waist—tugging, grasping for something—and my arm wrapped around his neck. Fuck, he couldn’t get close enough to me.
My heart stopped the second he moaned into me. I could barely hear it, but I felt it in my mouth, on his skin. He kissed me like he meant it. I would taste him, feel it for days, and even if I wanted to forget, I knew the numbness of my tongue would itch for more and more—
“Oh my god—“ I leapt from him faster than how this all started. He too looked back to the voice, Tara, and he smiled widely. “I fucking knew it you motherfuckers, gaslighters if I’ve ever known them, and you damn well know I do—“
“Tara, chill,” I laughed. “If it makes you feel better, it was the first time that happened.”
She gasped with wide eyes.
“ShIt, sorry I—“
“You’re fine,” Sam laughed. His fingers tangled with mine. “We were just coming back, actually.”
“We were?” I whispered as we followed Tara back to the tables.
“Shit,” he expelled and looked at me with a look I hadn’t seen from those familiar eyes. “What else did you want from me?”
I looked straight ahead even though I knew his eyes were hooked on me.
“I don’t know,” I sighed. “Whatever—Whatever you could think of I guess.” He sucked in a breath and neither of us said a word until we joined with our friends again.
His grip on my hand tightened exponentially.
“Someone get these jackasses more drinks since they clearly haven’t had enough to chill,” Tara said. I glared at her and Sam walked up to Colby. My heart was in my throat at that point. There was something about Tara spilling the beans to our friends about our kiss mixed with the sight of Colby locking eyes with mine and them slowly widening when he realized.
His lips ever so slowly parted and he smiled with a shaking of the head.
“Fucking knew it,” he said. I didn’t hear him, but I read his lips and Sam shoved him back as he walked past him for a drink. Colby and I stepped closer together as a smile pulled at my mouth and he laughed loudly. “You are so fucking dumb,” he laughed still, and his hands raised in self defense as I wanted at him.
“I’m not dumb; he is.”
“Do you know how hard it is to read you? You literally say and do four different things. You had the poor man pining for years.”
“And I was supposed to know that? Maybe if he just sucked it up and kissed me—“
“Jesus fuck, just blame everything on me, what don’t you? If you want me to kiss you that bad—“
I choked on myself as Sam grabbed me and kissed me there in front of everyone. I swore I combusted the moment I heard my friends get loud, and Sam smiled into this kiss. Of course I pushed him off way too fast for him, but he accepted it.
He didn’t let go of my hand.
He didn’t let go of it all night.
We partied, drank, sang, and talked until we forgot time existed. I couldn’t get this fuzzy ringing out of my head either. I did shots with the girls, Sam got me another drink, and if fourteen year old me knew where I was that night, she probably would have spontaneously combusted.
Because Sam? No way.
No fucking way.
But I kissed him, tasted him, and drank with him and sat on his lap like it had been normal for years.
Perhaps it should have been
I grew antsy.
I couldn’t think straight and I toppled over my shoes. When did they get so tall? And when did it get cold?
We were outside, we were on our way home. Not home. Colby spoke to Sam and it felt like they schemed something behind my back, they always did that, didn’t they? Sam shook his head and I was about to ask him what was up until Colby slipped him the hotel room key card.
Oh.
That’s what was going on.
And he got into a separate Uber.
Sam and I were alone.
No amount of training could have gotten my heart strong enough to handle this night. I hoped the Uber driver didn’t hear its pattering in its place, if it was even there anymore.
Sam’s arm was behind me and I leaned into him; I didn’t know what to say because then the entire world could hear. Suddenly it was as if every word I could possibly say was for Sam and Sam’s ears only.
His voice broke a thank you as we left. Thank god whatever hotel they booked for tonight was close to the club. Did that mean Colby went home? No, he got into that Uber, right. And he followed two girls in, there was a fourth person I thought. I didn’t remember shit—
The closing of the hotel room silenced my busy brain.
Sam pinned me to the door and it was all blood and guts from there.
I memorized the way he tasted as if to make up for lost time, and his hands did the same on my skin. I was so cold, so hot at the same time that he warmed me but sent chills down every inch.
”Holy shit, you’ve driven me so fucking crazy for so long. I didn’t think this—“ Sam couldn’t waste another second of empty air.
A noise yanked from the back of my throat when his arm latched under my leg and pulled it up. My jaw dropped when he rolled his hips into mine and I could have blacked out. Maybe it was the alcohol that amplified my senses, but either way Sam’s touch was enough for me to lose it.
”Can—Can feel you through your jeans,” I whined. I didn’t know what I said, I just needed.
”Yeah baby? I won’t—fuck—won’t even make it to the bed—“
”Need you now.”
He watched me intently when his hand slipped down and palmed at my underwear. I flinched because they must have been disgusting after so long—
He had a visceral reaction.
His moans cut straight to where he touched me, and I pulled him closer, closer.
”Please.”
”No need to beg.” His voice was gentle.
Fingers moved my underwear to the side and he teased me once as if to ready me, but there was no use.
”Holy shit,” he moaned yet again when two fingers immediately slipped into me. “You’ve wanted it for so long, haven’t you? You’re already ready.”
”I thought you were going to touch me after you kissed me the first time.” He choked a laugh.
”Yeah and then make not only our first kiss but our first time together be in a club? Absolutely not.”
”Oh so you planned to torture me like this?”
“I mean look at you; you’re writhing for me like I’m never going to touch you.”
”Just please—“ My head hit the door when he furiously tapped the spot inside of me. The leg that supported me caved, and he pinned me harder to the door. And that was when his mouth latched to my skin. I didn’t care. I wanted to wake up and see the red angry bruises from the night before.
Wanted the world to see them.
”Sam, I swear to god, just get inside of me.”
”Fuck,” he groaned against my skin. “Okay, okay.”
“Holy shit—Oh fuck oh fuck,” I gasped in anticipation. He moaned as he freed himself from the confines of his jeans and didn’t waste any time removing any of our clothes—
I held my breath when he filled me to the brim. He paused. I felt his breath stop as well. My entire body shook with the adrenaline that he caused, and for a second I wondered if some people were genuinely made for others.
“Shit, look at me, look at me,” he said. His voice had been deathly quiet since the moment we stepped foot behind this door. His hand latched to my throat and pushed it to the wall. And as he stared deep in my eyes like he did at the club when he kissed me for the first time, he thrusted into me once, twice—
I had to close my eyes or else he would have killed me.
“Fuck! Sam please just—You feel—“
“Feel so fucking good, oh my god,” he finally moaned louder. His head tossed back. My hand caved over his hand that pinned down my waist tightly. He sped up, everything felt faster and faster, more intense.
“Fuck me, oh god, fuck me Sam. I need you so hard—“
“I know, baby, I know.” He gasped under his breath as he gained better leverage of my leg that he held over his elbow.
This time, he knocked the breath out of me.
“Holy fuck—yes, yes, yes,” I moaned and more inaudible words poured from me. I was inconsolable. I couldn’t control anything that came from my mouth anymore.
And I thought I was the one we had to worry about being too loud; his moans mixed with mine in the hot air between us, and I swallowed them down with every distracted and messy kiss.
”You—Ugh,” he groaned loudly and tossed his head back. I watched in disbelief as that beautiful face twisted with a pleasure I could only imagine before. “I’m so obsessed with you holy shit.”
”Bed, please, need it hard.”
”Okay—“ I bit my lip to distract myself from the empty feeling when he pulled out of me. His hands grabbed me with a fervor they never had and I gave him control as he yanked me around and towards the unused bed.
I knew he tried to throw me down, but I didn’t let go of him and forced him down on top of me. I caught him in a kiss, and a whine broke from him as if he never thought he could touch me like this. I knew. I could tell; I could read him like a child’s book.
“Off,” he demanded, and that was all it took. I helped him yank off the black tank that was a bit too tight already. I didn’t dare try to help him with my skirt; clearly he wanted all of me to undress, to undo, by himself.
As he took off my clothes, he kissed down my body, and I scooted back and properly lay on the pillows. I needed some kind of support—another kind of anchor—because this new side of Sam was something I almost didn’t handle. He almost shot me through the atmosphere with an adrenaline fueled pleasure that was so foreign to me.
“Taste so good,” he quietly hummed in between kisses.
”Haven’t really tasted me yet,” I gasped with my hands tangled in his hair. He’s hooked his head as his fingers slid my underwear off completely.
“Just your skin is enough—“
But it wasn’t all.
I had to bite the back of my hand when his tongue pressed against me. One of his hands held down my hips as the other shoved a thigh back.
“Sam—“ I cried and he moaned against me and tasted me, pleased me, more and more. It was like he couldn’t get enough; I couldn’t get enough, and he needed to give me everything until I was satisfied.
Could I ever be satisfied by him? I was selfish. I needed all of him all the time forever, maybe then I would be satisfied.
”Ugh! Oh my god, please,” I broke.
”Please what?” Fuck that sweet voice. Maybe he would never get the chance to satisfy me, he would kill me first. His finger tips ever so lightly swirled against me where his tongue made disgustingly wet, and his eyes flashed up at me with a look that made me forget every word I learned.
”Please—Hands, I need you—“
”I know that, how do you want me?”
”Fuck—You know!”
”Want you to tell me.” Another whine escaped me as he kitten-licked me once, twice. “Say it.”
”Fingers! I need your fingers inside me, please. Finger me and—oh fuck!” It was incredibly slow, I know that, but the intensity washed over me like a wildfire when two fingers pushed inside. The confidence in his touches alone were what sent me spiraling.
”And what?” Another noise came from me. I didn’t know where that gentle confidence came from. Did his other girlfriends get this? What about me? Mine. He was mine now and no one else’s.
”Need your tongue, please. Put your mouth on me.” The sentence still hung in the air when he dived back into me. This time he used his arm against my lower stomach to pin me down from writhing. I don’t remember what I said; I couldn’t hear the words that poured from my aching throat. All I knew was that it was enough for him to keep going and going until tears blurred my vision. “Sam, please. Please, I‘m—“
”You what, baby?” That fucking teasing.
”I’m going to cum.”
”Oh,” he said as if he didn’t already know that. And he sat up to his knees; his eyes watched his hand as it lazily fell down the work he did on me.
”No please! I want—“‘
“I know it feels good,” he cut me off. “But I want things too and if I’m not inside of you again literally this second I—I don’t know what I’ll do.”
Something nasty in me wanted to find out what he would do.
”Then hurry.” I sat up and fumbled with the top two buttons of his shirt so that I could at least slip it off his head, and he worked his jeans off.
”Holy fuck just—oh god—just stop,” he demanded and grabbed my wrist. “Lay down.”
“Sam, come on,” I whined through gritted teeth.
Finally he kicked his jeans and underwear to the floor.
”The amount of times I’ve imagined you in my bed is—is unreal,” he said quietly as he crawled over me. My stomach dropped.
”Then why did you have so many girls?” A disgusted laugh broke from his mouth.
“‘Cause you didn’t want me—at least I thought. And how was I supposed to ruin what we had?”
“You wouldn’t have,” I gasped as he slid teased me up and down with his tip. My head shoved deepening into the pillows and I needed a break from watching him or else I would have passed out.
“I didn’t know.”
“But how?”
“How didn’t you?” The grit in his voice tied my throat in a knot and he firmly pushed into me. He didn’t give me any room to run away—not like I would have—but he pinned my thighs back. I had to take what he gave me. Good thing I wanted nothing less.
“How didn’t you?” I shouted back.
That was when he wrapped his hand around my throat and actually pinned me down. My hand held onto his wrist and he came nose to nose with me.
”Wanted you so bad—holy shit—wanted you for so long—“ He couldn’t even finish his sentence, he needed his mouth on mine. I drank him down like he was the last water on earth and I hadn’t drank in weeks. He tasted like heaven in my mouth, and I wished I could feel more and more of him. I knew him all too well, and now I wanted to know him in every way physically possible.
“You don’t even know,” he laughed when he pulled away. A gasp shoved out of me when he linked my leg over his arm. I tried to listen to him, but how could I when he was so infinitely deep in me I didn’t have any more capacity for words. “Literally—I literally imagined it was you when I kissed other girls. Pretended I fucked you and not them. Fuck, it was never enough.”
”Sam,” I gasped at the confession. What was I supposed to say to that? The tears really never cleared up. Not with the unreal stimulation, not with the desperate confessions falling off his sweet tongue. “Wanted you. I was so mad—“ He cut me off with more kisses.
There was enough time to talk later. Right now he decided he needed to kiss it all away and make up for what we lost.
I lost track of time. Any amount could have passed and it would have felt the same. Maybe he fucked me so hard I would feel him for days, but never would this feel like only that. He was more than that, and I should have accepted it long ago. It must have always been there, because two years of living together wouldn’t have brought these feelings, no. I must have wanted him before. Before everything.
“Oh my god,” he gasped for breath. “I love you so much, shit I love you.”
”I love you too, you know I have.” He nodded.
”So close,” he whispered this time. That haze in his eyes gave it away.
“I know, inside of me. I need your cum in me.”
”Are—fuck—Are you sure? You—You aren’t on birth control—“
“I don't care, I'll deal with that later.”
“Fuck, you’re really going to kill me, aren’t you?” I couldn’t say anything else, and I smiled from the over abundance of butterflies in my stomach from his words.
”Fuck—I’m coming,” I gasped. I don’t know where it came from. It was like only he had an on and off switch for me.
”Yeah? With me then, baby.”
I couldn’t even kiss him as I hit my high. It more so grabbed me by the throat and had a death wish for me. We moaned into open mouthed kisses; clearly he was too overcome to kiss me back as well. I held onto him like I was scared he would fall away from me, but how could that ever happen?
He got even closer to me, and pushed me down as tightly as he could. My hand tangled in his hair, nails leave their marks on his skin.
I wanted to live in this silence between us; make it my permanent home. There was nowhere else I wanted to be, and there was no more longing in my tired heart. How stupid I felt. Hopefully he felt the same.
Kisses trailed up my neck. I was lost in the feeling of his gentle touches across my skin. Thankfully he didn’t make a move to get off of me because I didn’t have the strength to fight him to stay down on me.
And I don’t know what came over me, the words just tumbled out.
"I don't think I can settle with just dating you," I mumbled. Sam stared back at me in anticipation. My heart skipped beats like a rock across the top of slick still water.
"What are you saying?" His words were careful.
"Even if we got married, calling you my husband wouldn't amount to what you mean to me, what you are to me."
"Not even marriage is good enough for you," he sighed. I laughed at his artificial annoyance. "Of course I'd be stuck with the one insatiable person alive."
I grabbed his face with my hands.
"You're the only one who's satiated me. What we are doesn’t. The only way I'd be satiated without you deep inside me is the promise that we would be together even after this lifetime." I don’t think he blinked. He stared at me, lips parted with bated breath. Even as we laid connected still, and it was so far past the point of being disgusting, he pushed against me harder.
"Fuck, you’re the beginning and end of me."

summary: you convince colby to finally let you join an adventure, but what was supposed to be a fun night takes a wrong turn.
word count: 1.9k
warnings: none really?
a/n: my first colby imagine!!! i absolutely loved writing this and getting back into the fandom so i hope y’all like it! feel free to send more requests :) it ended up being pretty long and probably not my best work but it was so fun anyway!! hope you enjoy lemme know!
                                                           ~
“Pleeeeease can I come babe?” you begged, pouting as you stood in front of Colby as he was packing his camping equipment.
“Y/n I really don’t want anything to happen to you,” he sighed. “It could be dangerous.”
“I’ll be fine!” you reassured him. “I’ve gone camping lots of times, plus I’ll be with the pros.”
“Yeah man, let her come!” Sam piped up from behind you. You turned around and grinned at him, knowing that he would be on your side.
“Fine,” Colby sighed, planting a kiss on the tip of your nose. “Only because I can’t say no to that face.”
-
You felt a mix of nervousness and excitement as Colby pulled over the car, ready to go set up your camp site. It was also your first time in a Sam and Colby video, and you were excited to have this new experience documented so well.
You guys all began pulling the camping equipment out of the trunk. Thankfully, it was still light outside so you weren’t feeling too spooked yet. You had never had a paranormal encounter yourself but after being with Colby for so long, you couldn’t quite say you didn’t believe in it. You felt yourself feeling jumpy at every small sound, and the boys found it quite amusing.
“Guys, as you can see, Y/n is not used to being in haunted forests,” Sam laughed, pointing the camera at you. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m fine,” you laughed. “Once I get into the swing of things I’m gonna be tougher than all of you.”
The boys laughed as you began to walk down the narrow path to try and find a good place to set up camp. The boys pointed out a nice area and you all began setting up the tents. You had to admit, you weren’t the best at it, so the boys did most of the work. Once they had set the tents up, you crawled into yours and placed down the sleeping bags, pillows, and backpacks you brought.
“Are you sure you don’t want to all sleep in the same tent, Sam?” you asked.
“Depends how scared I get,” he chuckled. “But if you hear me crawling into your tent in the middle of the night, you’ll know why.”
Once you had set up camp, you guys decided to explore the forest a little. It was starting to get dark, and you felt the eeriness hovering around you. You jumped slightly as you heard a low, growling noise.
“Did you hear that?” you asked, eyes widening.
“Yeah,” Colby chuckled nervously. “Was that an animal or a person?”
“I don’t know what’s worse,” you laughed. “Let’s keep going, didn’t you guys say there’s a cabin in these woods somewhere?”
“Yeah, I’m not sure where it is relative to where we’re standing now though,” Sam replied, looking around as if that would give him a clue.
You walked around the forest for a while, but decided you’d save searching for the cabin another day since you currently didn’t know where it was and it was getting dark. Eventually, you made your way back to the tents and decided to take it easy the rest of the night.
You lay in the tent, Colby’s arm wrapped around you, your hood pulled up over your head to keep warm.
“Are you okay?” he asked. “Not too scared?”
“I’m fine,” you smiled. “It hasn’t been too scary yet minus a few weird noises we’ve heard while walking around.”
“We’ll keep you safe,” he smiled, pressing his lips to yours gently. “Try to get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow.”
You nodded as you curled into him, trying to warm up. The nights felt very cold in the tent, but luckily for you Colby was a great heater when you were cold. You tried not to focus too hard on every little sound around you, and eventually dozed off.
You woke up to the sound of your phone ringing. You jumped slightly, rummaging for it beside you. By the time you found it, the ringing stopped. It was probably nothing. As you tried to go back to sleep, you felt like you needed to pee. You sighed, pulling your shoes on to leave the tent. You felt nervous, and debated waking Colby up, but decided against it. You weren’t going to go far, and it would only take a minute.
You unzipped the tent quietly, walking off just past the tents to go to the bathroom, when you heard a sound beside you. You looked over, not seeing anything in the pitch black. You heard a whisper, and approaching sounds of leaves and branches cracking. You tried to call for Colby, but your voice was only a whisper. When you felt something graze your arm, you took off running. You didn’t have time to scream, or call for Colby or Sam, your instincts told you to just run as fast as you possibly can.
You were out of breath and finally slowed down, but now you had absolutely no idea where you were. Your adrenaline was so high, that you didn’t even take a mental note of how to get back to the camp site. You pulled out your phone, turning the flashlight on to hopefully find the main path again. You felt terrified. You jumped at every small noise, scared that whatever touched you would come back. You started to wonder if there was anything at all, or if your fear made things up. You felt a tear slide down your cheek, feeling stupid. Why didn’t you just wake up Colby? Why didn’t you scream instead of taking off? What if you never got back?
You tried screaming their names, but you had no idea how far you were. If they could even hear you, especially if they were asleep. Your phone didn’t have service now, despite the strange phone call from earlier. You wanted to be strong, so you started walking, hoping to god you weren’t going even further from the boys.
-
Colby jolted awake, unsure what it was that stirred him from his surprisingly peaceful sleep. When he reached over to cuddle you, he was met with nothing but your empty sleeping bag.
“Y/n?” he whispered.
He put on his shoes and got out of the sleeping bag, hoping he’d find you nearby. When he didn’t see you, his heart began racing, his breathing quickening.
“Sam?” he called, running over to his tent and beginning to unzip it.
“What’s going on?” Sam mumbled, still half asleep.
“Y/n’s gone,” Colby said, the back of his throat stinging with the sobs threatening to escape him.
“What do you mean she’s gone?” Same asked, suddenly completely awake and alert, grabbing his flashlight and turning it on.
“I-I don’t know. I woke up and she wasn’t beside me and she’s gone,” Colby rambled. “We need to find her.”
“It’s okay, it’s okay,” Sam whispered. “We’ll find her. Let’s get some of your stuff and we’ll try to follow the path.”
They began screaming your name as loud as they could, hoping you could hear them and weren’t too far. They didn’t care about anything haunted anymore, all they cared about was finding you.
“Dude what if we don’t find her?” Colby asked, beginning to panic. “I can’t let anything happen to her.”
“We’re going to find her,” Sam said confidently. “We just need to keep looking, she couldn’t have gone too far I don’t think.”
-
Your pace began slowing, the exhaustion taking over you. You hadn’t made any progress from the looks of it. You were starting to give up. You were dehydrated, cold, and pure exhausted.
You fell to your knees, putting your head in your hands as you sobbed.
“Colby!!!” you screamed at the top of your lungs. “Please!”
Your wails turned silent, utter defeat consuming your body. There was no way you could find your way back in the dark like this. Your extreme and utter panic had faded. Your adrenaline had depleted, and you felt your eyes fluttering shut as you rested your head on the cold, damp, floor.
-
“Colby!!!” a faint scream said in the distance.
“That was her!” Colby screamed. “Y/n!!!! I’m coming!!!”
The boys began running towards where they heard the sound. It was faint, but they heard it. They must have been somewhat going in the right direction.
They continued calling your name, Colby wiping tears from his face as he continued to move forward. He couldn’t give up. He wouldn’t. Not until he knew you were safe.
After what felt like hours of walking, Sam came to a halt.
“Colby...” he whispered, his flashlight aimed towards a form on the ground. It looked like a human...it looked like you.
“Y/n!” Colby screamed, sprinting over to you and shaking you. The worst case scenario briefly flitted through his mind as he waited for you to open your eyes.
Your eyes fluttered open, meeting Colby’s in the glow of the flashlight. It instantly woke you up again.
“COLBY!” you screamed, jumping up and wrapping your arms around him, instantly breaking into sobs.
“Oh my god, you’re okay,” he cried as he held you as tight as he ever had.
“You found me,” you whispered. “I thought I was going to die out here.”
“Of course I found you,” he said, stroking the back of your head. “What happened? How did you get so far?”
“I-I got up to pee and I heard something. Then I felt something touch me and I just started running. I didn’t even think,” you explained, tears streaming down your face. “I was so scared, Colby.”
“You’re okay, baby,” he whispered as he rubbed your back. Sam sat next to you, wrapping his arms around you, too.
You felt so grateful for both of them. They didn’t give up on you when you gave up on yourself. You felt overwhelmed by love not only for Colby, but for Sam too.
“I think we should go home,” Colby said. “We can come back another time.”
“No!” you exclaimed. “This was supposed to be a fun adventure, let’s not ruin it because of this. I’m fine, really.”
“Babe, I don’t think we should-,” he started.
“Really, Colby,” you smiled, placing your hand on his cheek. “Let’s make this the most epic adventure ever.”
“Okay,” Colby agreed. “But promise you’ll wake me up if you have to leave the tent for anything, okay?”
“Promise,” you smiled, kissing him gently.
The three of you walked back to the campsite, hand in hand, finally feeling calm. You had the scare of your life, but you were happy to be back and safe with the boys. Sam decided to sleep in your tent, which made you laugh because you knew it would happen eventually.
Tomorrow was a new day, and what was a ghost hunting adventure without fearing for your life? You thought sarcastically.
You lied down between the two boys, pulling the sleeping bag up to your chin.
“I’m happy to be here with you,” you said. “Even though in that moment I wanted to be anywhere else.”
“You’re gonna give me a heart attack one of these days, girl,” Colby chuckled, pulling you closer to him.
He wasn’t going to let you out of his sight from now on, and you couldn’t be happier or feel more safe.

Same time tomorrow?|| Colby Brock scenario
¬Colby meets a girl at a coffee shop.
Pairing->f!reader x f!reader
w.c 1.7k
cw. very fluffy and corny
Tumblr media
Almost every morning was the same for you. Get up, take a shower, grab your books and laptop and head to the coffee shop down the street to get productive. For some reason it was easier for you to focus and avoid procrastinating at said coffee shop, which was beautiful.
Vines all over the wall outside, this white, cottage-core-like vibe that you got from all the arrangements inside. The plants, the yellow-ish lighting, the kind old lady bartending--who you always thought was the owner--the bookshelves on two of the walls inside. Everything about this coffee shop was perfect and it screamed inspiration. It was the place you felt the most calm at. Until you saw him for the first time.
His dark hair falling a little on his forehead, his piercing blue eyes, muscular complexion and tattoos. His nose piercing and the chains plus the rings on almost every finger. He was so mysterious and edgy.
You could still remember the first time you saw him walk in. You usually never noticed whoever walked throught the door, but for some reason as soon as the little doorbell rang indicating someone'd come in, you felt an electrifying need to see who it was. And it was him, of course, with his sufficient smirk and careless demeanor. Yet when he ordered his coffee he acted so nice and happy, not edgy and damp. From the very first moment you found him fascinating.
Then the next morning he came back, but unlike the day before he actually stayed to drink his coffee while scrolling on his phone and didn't even notice you were there. Not like you were expecting him to. He was probably taken, or a total player and either way he wouldn't look in your direction. Why would he? you were just a simple literature major trying to get through the weeks without losing your mind. But you had no idea how wrong you were, because Colby had noticed you from the very first day.
He remembered going into the coffee shop Sam had told him about--apparently they made the best coffee of all times at the lowest price ever witnessed for such quality, or so Sam said-- and not being disappointed with what he ordered. But while he was in line to order he'd noticed you from afar, at the back of the whole establishment, focused on your books and laptop. He instantly thought you were the prettiest girl he'd ever seen, and your aura seemed so tender and pure. He knew right away he wanted to get to know you, but how? It's not like he could just casually sit down at the table, introduce himself and ask you out. So the next day, he went to the coffee shop again, and there you were. Same table, same books, same laptop. He went for a week and he started to bring his stuff as well, mostly his laptop to do some editing and research for his videos. Hell week was coming so all the recording was already done, now they just needed to do the editing, and he also found the coffee shop an extremely relaxing and nice place to get stuff done. Plus, when he got tired, he'd look at you for a few seconds and feel recharged again. It was the weirdest thing, he wasn’t one to feel so connected to someone he’d never talked to before.
When you noticed he started sitting in the shop and working as he ate and drank his now usual muffin and what seemed to be plain coffee, you couldn’t help but imagine little scenarios in your head in which you’d go up to him and say anything, or he’d come up to you and…
“Hey.” You looked up, killing your previous train of thought. It was him. A plain black shirt with a XPLORE inscription in white, ripped black jeans with chains, rings on his fingers and his nose piercing practically staring at you.
“Huh?” Is all you could mumble. You did not expect this.
“May I sit here?” He asked with a small smirk, and you nodded.
“I noticed you since the very first time I came into this coffee shop… please let me take you on a date.”
You were about to say something when your phone rang, waking you up. It was a dream, you dosed off on the chair, head on the table. You looked around and he was gone, luckily. You hoped he didn’t see you like that.
And so the days kept going by and you continued to see him at the coffee shop, still daydreaming about who this handsome stranger was and the things you could do together. You were already at peace with the idea of him being nothing but a proximity crush and never really knowing anything about him, not even his name. Until one day he just stopped going. One day passed, then three and before you knew it, it had been a week.
You had no idea why. It’s not like you were super sad, but you missed seeing him around. You thought your proximity crush would die with his absence, but much to your surprise it actually didn't affect the way you were starting to feel about this handsome stranger.
All of a sudden, one day he came back. What you didn't know is that he had come back from recording at another haunted location with Sam and the crew, where he had an epiphany. He needed to talk to you. So that day, when you walked into the coffee shop he was sitting at your usual table, at your exact usual spot of the table too. Why would he do that? Surely he must have noticed you sit there every morning. You looked around, unsure about what to do. You even looked at the bar tender, but all the old lady had to do about it was giggle and shake her head, clearly amused.
You sighed and decided you'd take the table next to that one, so you were walking right past it. You were about to put all your stuff on said table but Colby's raspy voice prevented you from it.
"You don't need to sit there." You stopped on your tracks, not believing what you were hearing. You turned back to him.
"Sorry?" You acknowledging him made Colby feel way less confident, but he didn't show it.
"I'm not new here, I know you usually sit here. I was just wondering if you wouldn't mind... sharing a table with me?"
You looked around, confused. At this time of the day the shop wasn't very concurred with people so there was no need to share a table with a stranger. Even so, you had no idea why you were pushing things since getting to know him was all you wanted to do since you saw him for the first time. "I'm sorry but... why?"
Colby seemed to hesitate, but he had gone through almost every possible outcome of this situation with Sam. He could do this. He had to, it was now or never.
"I just figured it'd be nice. I'm Colby, Colby Brock." He stands up and offers his hand for you to shake. However, youre too stunned to process that. Just what was going on? Was he asking you to sit with him? For real?
"Im y/n, nice to meet you too." You were a little hesitant too, but honestly this was all you dreamt of lately, and it was finally happening. You decided to not overthinking and just sit down, right in front of you.
At first it was a little awkward, neither of you knew what to say.
"So, I've always wondered," Colby broke the silence "what is it you do with so many books every morning? And like you stick post-it's on it and write notes on your laptop... are you like a writer doing research or?"
You giggles a bit.
"Not really, I'm actually a literature major. I come here in the mornings to do my homework and papers and stuff." You said still smiling. "I could show you if you'd like."
"Yea sure, I'd love to see." So you took out your stuff and showed him the goods. You were currently working with two books.
"So what we're doing is making an essay comparing the accuracy of The Song of Achilles with the actual Achilles legend thing, its really interesting because..." And he was actually listening! A couple of hours passed and you learnt a lot about each other. You learnt he's a youtuber, hasn't been in a relationship for a while, likes writing music, is religious, amongst other things. And he learnt even more stuff about you since he couldn't stop asking. He was so obviously very interested. But you both realized it was time to go and continue with the day.
"This has been lovely," you said "but unfortunately if I dont leave now I won't be able to make it to campus on time." You said almost pouting.
"Yea I know, I have a meeting with the crew as well... But before you go," he seemed unsure about whether to say this or not, but after what seemed like a quick internal debate, he decided he'd say it. "I had been wanting to talk to you for weeks, and I'm glad I did. Maybe we could exchange numbers, if that's something you'd like to do?"
You felt your cheeks instantly redden. You were so sure this was going to be a one time thing, but you were so glad he was asking because you wanted this to happen again. And again. And again. You nodded.
"Of course." You offered him your phone so he'd type your number. After he was done you dialed his phone. "All done, have a good day." And you left. When you reached the door you looked back, and there he was, starting at you with that cute, satisfied smile of his. You waved and smile and he did so back. Then you left, and before you got to the bus stop you got a text message.
Same time tomorrow?

The Arrangement. Part Two
Tumblr media
Part One
Part Two:
**18+ Smut and unedited.**
When the next morning comes, it’s not the sunlight that awakens me. No, it’s the sensation of rough hands on my wrists. The hands lift my arms over my head slowly, as if the person touching me in my sleep doesn’t want to wake me. At first, I convinced myself that it was all in my head. I was so exhausted from the night before that I was imagining things, but when I felt something silky wrap around my wrists and tie me to something above me I opened my eyes. At first, my vision is blurred, but it takes only a few seconds for his face to peer back at me. A pair of blue eyes focusing on me with mischief in them. He’s tying my hands with a silk ribbon, the black silk shining back at me. As my eyes glance above me, watching what he’s doing in slow motion. He’s tying my hands together and attaching me to the headboard of his bed. My mind is still groggy when Colby moves his lips to my neck, light kisses that trail along my skin lightly. “Good morning…”
He groans. His voice rumbles when he speaks, vibrating against me. He is so close that it is consuming, my grogginess worsens while I breathe him in. His cologne, his touch, and his lips only add to my dream like state.
“...How did my baby sleep last night?”
The words fall from his lips breathlessly as he whispers in my ear, his breath warm on my neck. Images fill my mind of the night before. The first night we’d ever been together, the first night I’d ever spoken to my new husband. I knew that everything that brought me to this moment, in this bed, with this man was one big fucked up situation. But I couldn’t bring myself to regret ending up here.
Not when he’s touching me like this.
“Did daddy fuck you too good sweetheart? So good that you can’t speak?”
The way he says this causes the air to leave my lungs. I force myself to look at him once again, my lips parting when I attempt to respond, but I can’t bring myself to say anything. All I want is to feel him inside of me. After last night, I could feel myself getting used to our arrangement. He felt too good to ignore.
“Colby…”
I whimper when his gaze leaves mine and trails down to my bare chest. I was still naked from last night and so was he. The sound of his name on my lips causes a dark chuckle to escape him.
“...Please don’t tease me. I-I want you inside of me.”
I know I sound desperate when I say this, but I can’t bring myself to care. I can’t bring myself to feel ashamed. Colby had been the best sex of my life, not even 24 hours ago and my body needed more of him. And from the way he grinds his hardened cock against me, I can tell he wanted me to. He might’ve not wanted to be forced to marry me, but he was here now and the pros seemed to outweigh the cons.
“Don’t worry baby. You’ll have me inside of you soon, but first I want to play with you.”
He growls, his lips finding mine. This kiss is harsh but passionate and it takes my breath away in an instant. I want to put my hands in his hair, I want to touch him, but I strain against the silk ropes he used to tie me to the headboard. He tied me securely and I knew there would be no moving on my end unless he permitted it.
Colby deepens the kiss the moment he moves his right hand down my body, the sensation of his fingers causing me to moan. He drags his fingertips lightly along my body, slowly. Moving lower and lower until he’s reached my bare aching core. His index finger reaches my clitoris, and he slowly teases me with a small circular motion of his finger. Other men that I’d been with had been so mindless with their fingers, aimlessly twiddling, but Colby was different… mindful almost. He was slowly massaging my clitoris, the small circles making my body want him even more. I could feel my lower stomach tightening at the touch, he’d only been doing the motion for a few minutes and I already wanted to cum. Colby knows that my body is getting close, but he doesn’t let me.
“My darling, you’re not going to cum yet. Not until I say so.”
He whispers moving his index finger even slower. A taunting reminder that he was the one in control. I try to control my breathing as he touches me. I try to focus or I won’t be able to stop myself from coming undone under his touch. He seems to sense that I’m trying hard to not let my body defy him and he likes it. Likes the control that he has over me with a few simple touches. Colby moves his lips from mine and guides them to my neck, gently sucking. It feels so good and my body writhes under the touch. He sucks harder and I know he’s forming a hickey, marking me as his. He uses the distraction of his lips on me, to push his index finger past my clitoris and instead focuses on guiding his finger inside of my core. He only uses one finger to push inside of me for a few seconds before adding the second one. I could feel the cold metal of his rings against me, a stark contrast to the warm friction as he continued to use his fingers to fuck me.
Sweat starts to form on our bodies the longer his chest is flush against mine. He pushes his fingers inside of me deeper and deeper with each thrust and I mentally pray that he’s going to be merciful and let me cum, but I can tell that he’s not going to show me any mercy when he moves his lips lower along my neck, resting on my collar bone as he forms another hickey. I know that I should care that he’s marking me like this, that any appearances we’d have to make as a couple would equal me having to have all of the hickeys covered up, but I don’t. I don’t care because right now all I could think about was him.
“P-Please…”
I feel myself whimper as my focus on not cuming before I’ve been told I can, starts to waver. I don’t know if I can stop it anymore, because my stomach is starting to tighten once again, my body needing its release.
“... P-Please C-Colby, I need you inside of me.”
Another dark chuckle escapes him, his lips moving from my collarbone. The look in his eyes tells me he’s satisfied with his handiwork as he moves his lips back to mine for a brief moment before verbally responding.
“Oh my darling, you’re so cute when you beg.”
Colby removes his fingers from inside of me and guides his forehead to rest against mine. He waits a moment, breathing me in and the way my chest is heaving up and down in anticipation. Our eyes lock once more, both pairs of our blue eyes finding each other. He was the most beautiful man I’d ever seen. Even if he was an ass, I would be stupid to deny that he was physically perfect. His lips find mine once again, this kiss kinder than I expected it to be. Instead, he is as attentive and mindful as he’d been when he’d been touching me before.
It’s when he kisses me that I feel himself slide his hardened cock inside of me, slowly, teasingly slow. It's only once he’s fully inside of me that I allow myself to get swallowed up by the sheer pleasure of being full because of him. He takes a moment to enjoy it too, groaning as he moves himself inside of me. Each movement is satisfyingly slow.
“You’re so wet for me. So tight, so perfect.”
He sounds almost feral when he says this. I watch him as his eyes close, his body thrusting inside of me. His pace quickens when he does this, his cock ramming into me hard and fast. When he starts to move faster, I feel my eyes move from his face to the ceiling above us. I focus on how good he feels at this moment and sigh as I feel my orgasm approaching once more. This was the third time this morning that I felt this sensation and I only hoped that this time he would be kind enough to let me finish.
“You’ve been such a good girl for daddy…”
He growls, his right hand moving to my jaw so he can force me to look at him. He slams into me harder, sloppier than the last thrust and that’s when I know that he’s as close to cumming as I am.
“...You’ve been so good that I want you to cum. I want you to cum all over my cock.”
He keeps his hand on my jaw, our eyes never leaving each other. The look on his face tells me that I should do as he says and allow myself to let go.
So I do. I allow myself to cum and when I do he cums with me. His cock twitches with each load he sends into me. It feels so good as we both come down from our mutual highs. Colby removes his hand from my jaw and instead reaches out to untie the silk restraints that had held me captive. There’s a look in his eyes that I can’t read when he finally pulls out of me, his hands still gripping the silk fabric. It’s almost like he wants to say something, but he doesn’t get the opportunity to, because a knock at the door interrupts us. “Wake up sleepy heads… Celina and I are here to get Mrs. Brock ready for her first dinner party.”
My brows furrow at the voice coming through the door. Dinner party? I think to myself as I search the room for a clock. I sit up in the bed and find one across the room on Colby’s dresser and feel my heart stop for a moment. It was four in the afternoon and I had no idea how I’d managed to sleep in so late.
Colby gets off of the bed, his eyes leaving mine the moment the woman at the door speaks. Whatever undetectable look he’d made or whatever he’d wanted to say was gone. He clears his throat and sighs as he moves across the room, stopping at the door to grab his robe that had been hanging on a hook attached to the wall beside it. He covered his body and wrapped the robe around himself before he opened the door, not waiting until I was clothed before letting the woman who’d done my makeup the day before inside our room.
“She’s all your Kris. I was finished with her anyway.”
Colby walks by her without so much as a second glance in my direction and any good feelings I had moments before seemed to fall away the moment he’s gone. In one second he’d reminded me that I was there to be used. That our marriage was an arrangement and that when he wanted to fuck me I was to be ready whenever he wanted. He’d said it plainly the night before, but I guess a part of me didn’t want to believe that a person could treat another person that way. I wanted to believe that this experience might not be completely awful, but it was and I wished that it was something I could get out of. I looked at Kris who studies me sadly before walking further into the room. I felt so low, naked in front of this person I didn’t know, but I couldn’t move to cover myself up. I was in shock and she knew it. I keep my eyes trained on the carpet in front of me as another female voice enters the room.
“He just left her like this Celina,”
Kris whispers as she takes a few steps closer to me. Celina closes the door behind her as if the door is closed and would give me some sort of privacy. I feel my body tense when Kris reaches me, her hands reaching out to touch my shoulder.
“Come on darling, the party starts in an hour. We’ve got to get you ready.”
Kris speaks with such kindness that it makes me want to cry. No one had spoken so kindly to me since I arrived here. A part of me doesn’t want to move. I didn’t care about a party. I didn’t care about what I looked like, but I knew the consequences that would occur if I didn’t do what they told me to do. What would happen to my father if I didn’t obey the Brock family and the arrangement put in place by Colby’s family.
So I nod and let Kris take my hand and like a zombie, I follow her and Celina to the adjoining bathroom and walk-in closet. Not caring that I was naked. The Brock family had already taken my dignity… what else would they take?
The entire time that Kris and Celina helped get me ready I felt numb. They did everything for me and were gentle. I could tell by the looks in their eyes that they felt for me. And I tried to smile and joke with them, but I couldn’t. They brushed my teeth and washed my hair and my body. I just spaced out the entire time and my mind kept replaying what Colby had said ‘I was done with her anyway’. It wasn’t just what he said but how he said it. Like I was nothing to him. I didn’t expect him to fall in love with me or something, but I expected to be treated like a person. While Kris and Celina got me ready they filled me in on the dinner that was happening. Apparently, it was a black-tie event. An event that happened once a month at the Brock family estate. Celina informed me that Colby’s property was right next door to the other estates in the family. Every other month, each event was moved to another one of the Brock family homes. This was an event for investors and business. I just had to show up and look ‘pretty’. Today’s event was being held downstairs as it was Colby’s turn to host, so I wouldn’t have to go far to meet everyone. It amazed me that people had been running around this mansion all day to set up for the event and I hadn’t woken up once. The house was built to keep sound trapped in individual rooms, something that made me feel uneasy.
Within the hour time frame, Kris had my hair in the most elaborate updo I’ve ever sported. She did a fantastic job and it made me feel pretty, but it didn’t feel like me. Nor did the makeup she’d put on my face or the red lipstick that lingered on my lips. Celina put me into a black dress with a plunging neckline. It was a stark contrast to the wedding dress that had been picked out for me. She thought it would make my black engagement and wedding ring pop more. But with my natural hair color also being black I felt like I was completely washed out. I had pale skin and the complete darkness of my onsomble had me feeling like Wednesday Adams. Not to say that the two women who helped me get ready didn’t do a good job because they did, but it still felt wrong. It didn’t matter how much makeup they put me in or the fancy clothing. I still felt out of place.
Kris finished up my makeup with a setting spray before she and Celina left me to gather myself before having to go downstairs. They were kind and I could tell, but I was still shaken up and I didn’t know how I was going to get through the party.
Once I’m alone for a few minutes I breathe a shaky sigh. But I’m not alone for very long because there is a knock at my door mere seconds after the girls had closed it.
“Come In.”
I state lifelessly as I force myself to slip on my heels Celina had left for me before they’d gone out. I don’t notice who has walked into the dressing room until I meet their gaze in the mirror. A man with blonde hair and blue eyes… blue eyes that were hauntingly familiar to me. At first, I can’t read his face, but when he smiles at me I feel the smallest tug of warmth.
“Sam?”
I ask, realizing he was the man who’d been Colby’s best man. His smile widens for a moment before he nods, walking around me to lean against the vanity I’d been looking into. There is a black box in his hand, a box that he hands to me.
“This is from Colby. For performing your wifely duties last night and today.”
The words coming from his lips sound exactly like something Colby would’ve said. I can tell they’re not Sam’s words from the way his brow furrows and the look of disgust moves to his face.
“He told me to tell you that…”
He starts his words confirming what I’d thought moments before. I nod and look at the black box in my hands, my fingers are careful when they open the box and my stomach drops. A stunning necklace looks back at me. Diamonds twinkle from nearly every surface of the necklace in a way that’s almost blinding. It’s set in silver, and is probably more expensive than anything else I’ve ever touched, well apart from the wedding rings I’d been given.
“... He wants you to wear it tonight.”
With shaking hands, I reach for the necklace and pull it out of the box. It was a heavy necklace and it complimented the dress I was wearing. The deep plunge of the neckline left space for an accessory,  but I wasn’t prepared to wear something this expensive. I sigh and nod in response to Sam, but when I attempt to unclasp it he stops me.
“Allow me...”
Sam whispers, politely taking the necklace out of my hands. He walks around me and places the necklace around my neck, fastening it. There’s a politeness to him that I hadn’t seen from Colby. I felt confused, how could someone who seemed so nice be friends with the man I was now married to?
“... Was he nice to you at least?”
Sam asks quietly as if he’s afraid someone will overhear him. We lock eyes in the mirror once more as he stands behind me. Sam’s face looks worried, a look that worsens when I shake my head ‘No’. The sex with Colby was nice, but he himself wasn’t. And for whatever reason I couldn’t lie to Sam and say otherwise.
“He's quite rude, your friend.”
I whisper at the same volume he’d spoken to me moments before. Sam nods in agreement, his lips pulling into a tight smile. There’s a bitterness in his breathing that tells me he doesn't like how rude his friend is either. Sam places his hands on my shoulders, giving a small squeeze of reassurance.
“He’s not always like that. You’ll have to get to know him and then you’ll see. He’s kinder than he would like to admit.”
It's my turn to look bitter, my eyes never leaving Sam’s. I want to believe him but the dynamic between two best friends is different from whatever dynamic I had with Colby now. This forced arrangement was different from the friendship he chose. A part of me wants to beg Sam to help me, to get me out of here despite the punishment that would surely follow. But I don’t, instead I take a deep breath.
“I hear the party tonight is going to be impressive. Well, over 300 hundred guests and everything. A first look at the new and improved Colby Brock.”
I half spit out the words when I speak. A fragile line between amusement and disgust laced in every syllable. I can feel my eyes water when I speak as if everything that led me here to this moment was bubbling to the surface. But I know I can’t let myself cry, Kris had done too good of a job on my makeup for me to mess that up. I know Sam can see that I’m struggling and he wants to say something, but when his watch vibrates on his left arm his attention turns to the screen and whatever it says.
“It’s time for you to go downstairs with the others.”
He sighs, his eyes finding mine in the mirror once more. Every fiber of my soul wants to run away, but I don’t. Instead,, I stand immediately, knowing that if I keep anyone waiting there would be a consequence. When I stand and turn to face Sam a small smile moves to his face as he looks at me. The dress hugged every curve, and the necklace Colby had given me made the dress luxurious.
“You look lovely…”
Sam starts, his hand reaching out to take mine. Once he has my hand in his he guides me forward, through the closet, the bathroom, and the bedroom I’d woken up in. I try to focus on my breathing as we walk, my heart skipping a beat once I’m in the hallway outside of Colby’s bedroom. I know I’d seen the outside of the room the night before, but I’d been so eager to hide in that bedroom after the wedding that I hadn’t fully processed this entire house. The marble floors and high ceilings were beautiful, but what hit me was the amount of wealth that oozed from every surface. In the hallway, I can hear the guests downstairs. Their voices carried up the stairs. The hallway is long, and in the middle is the grand staircase. We have a few feet before we reach the top when Sam speaks once more.
“...You’ll need to link your right arm with my left, and then rest your left hand on top so people can see your wedding ring. We are going to descend the stairs together and once we reach the bottom, I will hand you off to Colby. There will be photographers so you will need to smile like you mean it.”
A nod is all I can manage as I process everything that Sam said. I quickly link my arm with his and position the wedding ring in the way that he asked me to. Once I am where he told me to be we begin walking forward until we reach the top of the stairs. It’s only then that I feel the full anxiety that I’d been pushing down overtake me. From the top of the stairs, I can see a sea of people below me. Everyone is dressed up in clothes that cost more than most people’s rent and I can feel all their eyes move to me once they realize I’m standing there. There is music playing and the voices remain speaking as Sam and I descend down the stairs in sync. I put on the biggest smile I can muster as the cameras start to flash. Out of the corner of my eyes, I see Sam looking at me reassuringly.
“You can do this.”
Is all he says but it causes me to smile wider because his words, all four of them mean the world to me. He seems to smile wider when he sees mine and nods. For a moment I felt good and I felt safe, but when my eyes looked away from Sam and down the stairs, I met Colby’s gaze. And when I do there’s an emotion I didn’t think I would see…
Jealousy.

My dear readers, welcome to the “𝐓𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲-𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬” event. Since on August 29th I’m turning twenty-four, I have decided to host this small event.
• How does it work? Being a busy person and having my requests closed, I have already set up everything. I therefore hope you will just enjoy the works that are going to be part of this collection and let me know if you are satisfied with them.
• What does the event consist in? This post will work as a real Masterlist for the twenty-four one-shots I’m going to post. I’ve chosen twenty-four male characters from Demon Slayer and Bleach, pairing each and every one of them with a line of a song I have chosen.
• Are there any other infos you should be aware of? The works will all be written in the perspective of a female reader. The contents of the works can be smut, fluff or angst and, sometimes, the various generes will be combined. I will make sure to add all the details concerning the warnings about the triggering themes in every single post.
• Anything else? This is the complete list of the works I will gradually update. There is not a specific order, but I will add the links of the one-shots whenever I get to post one of them! Thanks for the attention, your perfectionist admin.

Prom Night: Colby Brock (Part 1)
**Colby Brock Prom AU Poll Winner**
Colby Brock x fem!reader - a budding story about two people believed to be very unavailable to anyone, until they set their sights on eachother.
Part 2 is now up:
Part 2
tags: Slowish-burn, multi-parts, POVs will change in each part, I'll put tags on each part as they get posted. (there will be smut in later parts)
***************************************************
There is a difference between being well known and being popular. Y/N was both but Colby Brock was well known.
Y/N was a popular girl in high school. She wasn’t mean to people, she talked to pretty much everyone and she had pretty good grades all in all. Everyone knew her and everyone liked her. Especially the boys, but she would never accept anyone's proposal for dates or hang outs. It frustrated the majority of the male population but they weren't mad per say. They saw it as more of a competition against each other. If you could bag Y/N for just a hangout session, you would be a legend. So of course, Y/N had a lot of the male attention.
Colby Brock. He was a funny guy, he was also known throughout the school. He was nice to everyone, talked to everybody like they were friends, no matter who you were. His stunning dark hair and blue eye combo had all the girls fiendish over him and he would hear them out but politely decline.
While sitting and watching the football players practice, an event she was invited to by the entire football team. Y/N and her best friend Kat sit on the bleachers and witness the calamity that is their football team. Truthfully she felt more like a distraction than anything so with that she yells to the team.
“Hey, I going to head to study hall guys, good luck!” She waves and they all wave back, telling her to drop by again sometime which would not be happening unbeknownst to them. Her and Kat walk down the track but her eyes wander to the marching band, setting up for a football game performance.
"Hey Kat? Is that Colby Brock?" She points to the dark haired boy setting up his clarinet, him oblivious to her presence.
"Yeah, he's a band nerd haha. What a loser." Kat scoffs and rolls her eyes.
"What's wrong with being in the marching band?" Y/N quizzes as she stares at the group and their instruments, she had always wanted to learn how to play an instrument but never had time for it.
"Uh. Only nerds are in band, Y/N. Come on. Haven't you seen like any high school movie ever? Why are we staring at them. We need to go to study hall." She glares at the group and then walks away. Y/N jogs to catch up. She doesn't go unnoticed because there were two boys watching her, one being Colby Brock.
************************************************************************
"I don't know dude. it definitely looked like she was staring at you. Could you imagine?" Sam pipes up smacking Colby in the arm.
"My best friend bagging the legendary Y/N. That would be crazy!" Sam beams.
"Yeah, hence I'm not doing it." Colby goes back to packing up his instrument. He thought it was so ridiculous. Sure she was pretty but every dude was fawning over her. He would probably be murdered by someone to get to her, he believed people were that crazy.
"Hey, you think her friend Kat would go out with me?"
"Doubt it. She seems bitchy. I don't get how they are friends." Colby heads to his dreaded 4th period class where he's forced to watch people make fools of themselves for Y/N. It was quite painful to witness if he was being honest. As he's walking, he overhears what sounds like a threat by someone to his left. He sees Y/N being pressed up against a wall by some football douche with no escape.
"Sam, follow me." Colby walks up behind the guy, grabbing his shoulder.
"Damn, out here trying to bag Y/N?" Colby smirks.
"I wouldn't hold my breath buddy." Colby whispers in the kids ear while patting his back.
"Back the fuck off. She was just about to tell me she was going to see later. Right, Doll?" He smirks at Y/N like shes a meal and it doesn't sit well with Colby at all. He looks at Sam and he nods over to her. Sam understands him without a word being spoken. Colby grabs the dudes shoulders and yanks him around, pushing him out into the hall where he stumbles and falls to the ground. Colby towering over him while Sam slides by and grabs Y/N to move her out of the way.
"You better get going, class starts soon and you probably shouldn't miss it." Colby winks.
"This is not how you play the game, Colby."
"Oh buddy, I'm not even playing." He waves the guy off. He gets up and mumbles a 'fuck you' to Colby before heading down the hall. He turns and heads to Sam.
"Hey, uh. Thanks for that. Usually I can handle them but he was... persistent." Y/N speaks up immediately as Colby walks up. He waves at her.
"It's all good. We need to get to class though." All three walk to their class together and make it just before the bell. The rest of class, the room is buzzing about them all showing up together.
After class, Colby and Sam leave to meet up with Jake and Corey but they end up finding them first.
"Dude. You seriously got into a fight with Brent Snider? That's ballsy." Corey grabs Colby by the shoulders, playfully shaking him. Colby smiles at his friends actions.
"It wasn't that big of a deal. I was just helping someone."
"That someone being Y/N!" Jake flashes his screen at Corey and the boys. Corey's jaw drops.
"Dude. What the fuck. I thought you weren't in the game?" Corey stares at him wide eyed.
"I'm NOT. Look, he had her pinned to a wall, what was I supposed to do? Leave her there?" Colby rolls his eyes.
"I'm going home. I'll see you guys later." Colby pushes through everyone and they look at each other.
"COLBY! WAIT FOR US, DUDE!" Jake yells and runs after him, the others in tow. On the other side of the school, another conversation was being had between Y/N and Kat.
"Seriously! If Colby wasn't there, Brent would have done something to me, dude." Y/N shudders as she goes on about what happened to her to Kat. That was one thing she was afraid of when it came to the guys and this 'game' as they call it. She almost wishes she had someone like Colby around to ward them off. They walk towards the parking lot to their cars.
"Well, I'm glad you are safe. that sounds really scary. Hey.. Was Sam there with him?" Kat asks nonchalantly, avoiding eye contact with her friend who is clearly staring daggers into her.
"Sam Golbach? Yeah, he pulled me out of the corner while Colby was doing his thing. Why?" Y/N could read Kat like a book.
"Oh, uh. no reason. Let's go."

Curiosity Part 1
Summary: Reader wanders into a sketchy part of the city and curiosity is her greatest temptor.
TW/CW: None that I know of. Reader x Mafia/Vampire!Colby Brock eventually.
Requested?: Nope
A/N: This started as a creative writing prompt and somehow turned into an imagine bc I have nothing but Colby Brock on my brain lately lol.
Tumblr media
A/N: Fucking adorable little shit.
Y/N's POV
As the sun sets over the harbor, the lights of the city came on, one by one. I shiver, pulling my thin hoodie tighter around my body. I know it’s stupid of me to be out this late, especially in this part of town, but I need to. It began as a need for fresh air but has since turned into a need for adventure. Everyone around me always said this side of the city was dangerous and I want to see it for myself. As I wander the dimly lit streets, eyes scanning for any signs of danger, I begin to think everyone is being dramatic.
I'm not scared in the slightest. My plan is to take off sprinting toward my apartment at the first inkling that I'm in trouble. I'll be fine, right?
I might have been fine had I not wandered down that one street that led me to that one section of shipping containers that led me to that one alleyway. I jump as a smooth voice speaks from the shadows, “What’s a pretty thing like you doin’ out here?”
I look in the direction of the voice, knowing I should run but curiosity keeps my feet cemented in place. Dropping my face into a disinterested gaze, I respond, “Just getting some air. How ‘bout you?”
From the darkness emerges a tall, blonde man, “You’re brave aren’t you?”
I force myself to stay calm and look into the blue eyes of the stranger before me, “Depends on who you ask,” I shrug.
The stranger tilts his head slightly and grins, “He’s gonna love you,” he mutters to himself but I still catch it. My heart leaps to my throat at the seemingly ever-growing grin on his face as he steps closer, never daring to drop eye contact and I can’t seem to look away either. “You’re coming with me, Princess,” he states before turning to walk back down the alleyway.
My feet follow of their own accord. No matter how hard I try to turn the other way and take off running, my body won’t cooperate. I scan ahead of me, trying to discern where the man may be leading me but all I can see is dingy brick walls and busted trash bags. Finally, he speaks again, “Here we are,” stopping in front of a decrepit door with a rusty “keep out” sign hanging front and center. I try and fail to speak as he knocks a pattern into the wooden door.
Promptly, it swings open revealing another man, this one smiles at me and bows, “Come on in.” As I step across the threshold with Blondie following closely behind, I can’t hide the shocked look on my face, swearing I saw fangs on the man who welcomed us in. Shaking my head I mentally deem it an alternative fashion choice and return my attention to my surroundings. Muffled, bass-filled music can be heard from behind the walls around me. Somehow, my feet seem to know exactly where to take me.
The black walls of the hallway are covered in all kinds of spooky and music-related memorabilia. The plush deep purple carpet is a striking contrast to the darkness of the hall. As I round a corner, the room opens up into a sort of speakeasy. I stop in my tracks as the group at the bar pauses their silly antics and turns to look at me. I can feel the urge to bolt out of the room once again but one of the bar patrons calls out, “Whatcha got here Sam?”
The blonde stranger I met what seems like hours ago steps out from behind me and toward the bar, taking a seat, “Found her wandering around the container yard. Didn’t immediately bolt like the others typically do.”
The previous speaker raises his eyebrows in shock before plastering a big, bright smile across his face. My heart does a quick flutter as he watches me and with a few snickers around the group, it’s almost like they heard it.
He doesn’t speak again for quite some time which allows me to fully take in the group before me. The blonde who had brought me in off the streets, now known as Sam, orders a drink from the bartender before nudging and whispering to the one who had welcomed us in, who laughs heartily before shifting his gaze to the one staring me down. This one looks almost devilish yet so charming in his purple button-up and black leather pants. The chain necklaces he wears brush his exposed collarbone and the rings adorning his hands send naughty thoughts through my mind. I shake my head before taking in his striking blue eyes and dark fluffy hair. These men look nothing like what everyone warned me would be awaiting me on this side of the city.
I'm pulled from my thoughts as the dark-haired man speaks up, “What’s your name, Sweetheart?”
My throat is dry and I struggle to keep my voice steady as I speak up, “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
Several in the group chuckle including the main speaker who replies, “I would. That’s why I asked.” His voice is deep and velvety smooth. The kind of voice that could rile me up but still talk me to a peaceful sleep as well. There is a hint of mischief in his words and yet he remains gentle.
“That’s for me to know and you not to find out,” I state, sounding braver than I feel. I find myself wanting to melt before this man and I don't even know his name yet. Feigning disinterest once again, I add, “Can someone kindly show me to the exit?”
The man before you looks at Sam with an impressed expression on his face, “Quite brave isn’t she?”
Sam looks at me and shrugs with a smile on his face, “Depends on who you ask,” the call back to before unknown to the others but sticking out clearly to me, “Or at least that’s what she says.”
The other man looks back to me, “Here, I’ll go first. My name is Colby. Your turn,” he motions to me before taking a sip of his drink.
I mentally debate with myself between lying or telling the truth before landing on, “(Y/N).”
Colby tilts his head and grins at me, “See, that wasn’t so hard was it?” The door greeter whispers something to Sam which draws Colby’s attention away from me immediately making me want it back. Colby gives the man a disapproving look, “Jake, you know we can hear you, why bother whispering?” Jake simply shrugs.
I yawn and stretch my arms above my head, “It’s getting late, I think I’ll be going now.”
In the blink of an eye, Colby is right in front of me tilting my chin up with his thumb and pointer finger to lock eyes with me, “That’s entirely your decision but I think you and I both know you’d rather stay.”
Despite my racing heart, my voice remains disinterested and steady, “What makes you think I wanna stay here in this dingy speakeasy when I could be at home in my warm bed getting some shuteye?”
Colby grins, “Because you’re too damn intrigued to leave now. You haven’t taken your eyes off me since you walked in and don’t think I didn’t notice these pretty lips pout when I looked away from you,” he marks the end of his response by brushing his thumb over my bottom lip.
My heart skips a beat at his actions and the fact he saw right through me makes me want to give in completely. I don't. I step back and turn toward the door instead, “I’ll just see myself out.”
Colby’s hand drops to his side as I hear Jake laugh behind me, “She didn’t deny his statement.” I exit the building successfully despite every bone in my body screaming at me to turn back around and run into his arms. Despite my heart feeling a little heavier, I make my way back to my apartment. As I crawl into bed sometime later, I replay the night’s events in my head. I can’t seem to get Colby out of my head and unbeknownst to me, he can’t shake me from his thoughts either. I promise myself that I won’t go looking for him again but that’s a promise I'll soon break. Curiosity might’ve killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back after all.

Unholy
Tumblr media
I had too much fun with this one
Colby smut
Dylan moves his hand on my leg, moving it from my knee to my ankle. My legs are on his lap, while I'm seated next to him. I run my hand through his hair to steal his attention from his convention with a friend to me. He faces me and looks directly at my lips, before his sleepy eyes meet mine. I lean in and peck Dylan's lips.
"What's that, y/n? Are you a second grader?", he mocks me so i get up from my seat and take his hand, pulling him towards a dark hallway where we can be alone from all the people in the club. Dylan presses me onto the wall, his big hands falling on my hips, pinning me flat, as his lips kiss my exposed chest. The low cut of the dress gives him enough access to leave bruises and his mouth travels to my neck, up my jaw and finally to my lips. I grab him by the waist, pulling him closer to me, feeling his boner pressed on my area, making me crave more of him by the second. I bite his lip and pull at it, earning a smirk from him. Dylan grabs me from behind the neck with one hand and presses our lips back together harder, the kiss getting even more heated, our gasps filling the echo of the hallway.
"Let's go to your place", i say while kissing down his neck, my hand traveling down his abs, to the belt of his jeans, slowly unbuckling it. He let's out a loud breath as my hands slowly unbutton his pants.
"Mhm, let's go babe", Dylan grabs my hand and puts his t-shirt over the unbuttoned jeans. We hurry through the crowd of people, but i trip and hit someone, causing a drink to spill.
"For fuck's sake, I've just gotten those", the man shakes his head looking at the broken glass and spilled whisky.
"Colby?", i ask surprised
"Oh, y/n, what the fuck are you doing here?", he laughs and we hug.
"Oh, I'm here with Dylan. You know i told you we were going to hang out soon", i smile and grab Dylan's hand to come greet Colby.
"You mean bang soon", Colby greets Dylan and they hug, tapping on each other's backs
"Is there a problem with that?", Dylan asks and Colby shakes his head.
"I don't see why there would be any problem with that. I'm happy my friend is living her life finally.", from what's recognizable because of the darkness and few neon lights, Colby fake smiles at the both of us.
"Hey, stop it, you know each other for a long time now, no need for this type of discussion", i tell them and put a hand on Dylan's chest, which he takes and kisses the back of my hand, looking deep into my eyes
"True, I'm waiting in the car, baby. Don't take too long tho", Dylan waves goodbye to Colby and manages to come out with half a smile, while Colby just waves and puts his hands into his jean pockets.
"Baby? What's that?", he asks me and i just roll my eyes at him, smiling
"Can't we use cute nicknames even if we're not dating?"
"Whatever. Haven't seen you in a while. How's the album going?", he changes the subject and I'm glad he does it
"Almost done. I know i haven't been around much but i was also a lot in the studio -"
"With Brad yeah", he cuts me off and crosses his arms at his chest, looking somewhere behind me. I roll my eyes.
"How come it is ok for you to fuck around but it is not when i do it? I'm finally single after a long time and i really want to enjoy myself. You didn't seem to complain when you were fucking me"
Colby looks me dead in the eyes and let's out a tired sigh. He raises his hands in defense and takes a small step back, as much as the people behind him allow him to.
"You're right, i really enjoyed it and it's not fair for me to judge that,I'm sorry. I just miss you."
"i miss you too, Colby, but I've been busy, you saw that as well. Putting aside my sex life, thank you, which I'm sorry you haven't been a part of in the past 2 weeks. You just weren't around", i shrug my shoulders. "How about you come by the studio tomorrow? At 2pm?"
He let's out a sigh and looks again somewhere behind me. "Brad's there, right?", i nod
"We produce my songs together. He's part of my team of songwriters and he also produces a few of my songs. So yeah, he is there."
"Ugh, fine, just because i really want to spend some time with my friend too, not just Dylan and Brad.", he rolls his eyes but he giggles. We hug and wave him goodbye, before managing to leave the club.
~~~
I hold Brad from behind the shoulders, my chin resting on top of his head as he replays the song I've just recorded. We vibe to the slow song and i kiss his cheek when a cheesy lyric comes on.
"I know i inspired you to write this song, you have to admit it at some point", he looks up at me and i peck his lips.
"Maybe, in like... 50 years?", i walk around the chair and sit on his lap, moving a curl from his forehead. "When you won't remember me anymore", i joke and cup his face to kiss him, both smiling into the kiss, as his hands grabbed my ass and positioned me better on him.
"Hmm, I'll give you like one more minute", he leans in and deepens the kiss, my hips rocking into his. We left quiet moans and stop all of a sudden when we hear a knock on the door. Brad falls back on the back of the chair and i get up from him to go open the door. I see Colby standing in front of it with a bag of McDonald's and a big, wide grin on his face.
"Thought you guys were hungry, so i decided to bring you some food", he greets Brad and gives me a hug, making sure he pecks my lips one time. For a second I'm shocked that this happened, but Colby was the first one I've kissed once i was single and he was the one that made me want to explore this side of me. I've always seen Colby at parties with other girls, leaving with them and then coming later that night back home or even in the morning. We've been friends for a lifetime and it was very hard when i got into a relationship to keep up with the constant fights with my boyfriend because i was living with Sam and Colby. Tho Kat moved in, and I've had my own room always, it didn't make a difference. I offered to move in with my boyfriend into an apartment, but he also didn't want that because he didn't want to settle with me. So we came to an end a few months later, months that felt like agonising years of constant yelling and no relaxation whatsoever. When we broke up, i got home and expected to stay in bed, demoralised and feeling bad of that happened, but instead, Colby and i found ourselves in a heated make out session after a few "celebration" shots. We quickly found the way up to his room and whenever we had time or were alone, we would have fun together wherever possible. Of course, none of us ever mentioned the idea of a relationship, because both of us seem haooy with what we have. He kept on seeing other girls and well, even if they're a different from time to time, mine happen to only be Brad and Dylan, which have also been really old friends of mine.
"Thanks, mate, i didn't even realise what time it is", Brad takes a sandwich and i take another one, sitting next to Colby on the couch. We talk and we laugh and i look at Colby who seems very different from last night, when he didn't like the idea of me having Brad around. He smiles, jokes around and actually has a conversation with him. I take another bite from my sandwich and Colby puts his arm around my waist, pulling me on his side. I look at him and he brushes his nose over mine, kissing my temple.
"Well you're in your feelings today", i say and put the food away to drink some water
"Not true", he lies and we're very aware of that.
"I'm gonna go make a phone call real quick and also give you some space. I'll be back", Brad winks at me and leaves the room. I get back on the couch and sit on the side so i can look at Colby. He looks back at me and his smile slowly fades away.
"Come here", he puts a hand on my cheek and brings me closer to his face, kissing me passionately. I grant him access immediately and his soft tongue brushes over mine slowly, none of us hurrying the moment. I lean backwards and i pull him by his t-shirt, getting him on top of me. Colby rocks his hips into mine and i moan and the pleasurable friction between us.
"Gosh, how i missed this", i whisper, unable to speak out loud. He groans in response and takes off his t-shirt, while i trace his abs and tattoos. I bite my lip, flashbacks of previous rounds of sex coming in my mind and i grow eager to receive more from him. He unbuttons my jeans and takes them off along with my underwear, throwing them away in the room. His eyes scan my bare bottom half and his eyes turn dark with lust. Colby licks his lips and comes down between my legs, licking a few lazy stripes on my core, collecting my arousal and building up my pleasure. He flicks his tongue over my clit at a steady pace, making my legs spasm every once in a while when he reaches a very sensitive spot. He smirks and grabs my thighs firmly, keeping them in place while nibbling at my clit a few more times.
Colby takes off his jeans and reaches for the condom in his wallet, rolling it on his length, getting between my legs and slowly slipping his dick inside me. We both gasp as it goes deeper and deeper, a moan escaping my lips when he's fully in, already touching a the right spots. He starts thrusting in me and a slow speed, adjusting to my tightness and making sure he doesn't hurt me.
"Fuck, y/n, oh my God, you're incredible", he whispers in m my ear as he hovers over me and puts one of my legs around his waist. I scratch his back and try to muffle my moans into his shoulder, biting it. Colby thrusts harder, the skin slapping noise turning us on even more. He cups my breasts and kisses them, licking my nipples and sucking every now and then on the sensitive skin. "You're so fucking mine", he groans as my lips find his, my hands in his hair and pulling at it, while his hands pinned my hips down as his thrusts get faster.
"Fuck, Colby, just like that", i lean my head back, his lips attacking my neck and focusing on the sweet spots.
"I'm so close", he buries his head in the crook of my neck and i nod, putting my other leg on his waist too.
"Me too", i say and he grabs the armrest of the couch and starts pounding into me, hitting my g-spot until my legs shake uncontrollably as my orgasm hits me like a wave.
"oh fuck", he bites my shoulder to cover as much as possible his loud moan as he bursts inside the condom. Colby gets up and slowly exits me, taking the condom off and wrapping it in some empty food package. We get dressed and i motion him to come back next to me. I hug him and remain like that for a few moments.
"Oh how i wish we would take our usual aftersex nap", i chuckle and he does the same.
"We can, let's go home", he offers.
"I still have work to get done", i motion my head towards the laptop with the list of songs I have to record.
"By the way, where's Brad? Wasn't he supposed to be back?", Colby asks and gets up from the couch. I frown.
"He knows we're fucking, he just gives us some free time.", i shrug my shoulders. "It felt so good, i missed our sex", i give him a tired smile.
"Then let's do it more. Y/N, i hate the fact that you have sex with them too. You have no idea how bad it pisses me off", Colby throws his hands around
"What? You can't say that, you do the same thing, with more girls may i add"
"Because i knew you weren't going to settle for me once you got single again."
I open my mouth but don't say anything. He is pretty much right. I didn't need another relationship right away.
"I just can't stand the thought of anyone finishing you and touching you and having you moan underneath them", Colby comes back to the couch and zones out
"I'm sorry i didn't know about what you've been feeling. You should've told me.", i grab his hand in mine.
"Can you please, at least consider, dropping out of your slut era?"
"I've been out of my slut era since you called me yours ten minutes ago. There was no going back afterwards."
"Oh shit, i did say that.", Colby laughs and i lean in to kiss him. He kisses me back and then kisses my forehead, pulling me into a tight hug. "Finally. I'm so stupid for not owning up to my feelings"
"No, you're not, just don't own up to your feelings with anyone else please", we both laugh and we hear the door open. Brad grins at us and sits back in his chair.
"Ready for round two?", i walk towards the recording booth and turn around to Colby
"Always", i wink at him and he laughs. I shake my head and put on my headphones.
Ghost hunting date - Colby Brock
warning: I guess there's no warning, it's just a cute fluffy short imagine with Colby.
word count: 733 (I think)
You and your boyfriend Colby had always been interested in the paranormal and he even had a whole channel with his best friend dedicated to it, so the two of you decided to go on a ghost hunting adventure together. You had read about a supposedly haunted house on the outskirts of town and decided to tell about it to Colby, immediately he invited you to go investigate it with him, but instead of making a video or something like that, it would be just the two of you in a cute little haunted date, according to Colby's words.
You and Colby arrived at the old, dilapidated house late at night. For the sake of it all the moon was full and the stars were shining bright. As you approached the house, you both felt a chill run down your spines and shared a weird look with each other but decided to go in anyway. The front door creaked open, and you stepped inside. Immediately, you felt a cold breeze brush past you, what a great date you thought. The air was thick with an eerie silence, you felt your heart racing, and your palms were sweating. Colby sensed that you were unease and took your hand, reassuring you that he was there for you.
Colby started exploring around the house, using his flashlights to guide his way with you following right behind him. Every creak, every whisper, and every gust of wind made the two of you jump, that's how creepy the house was. You and Colby heard strange noises, even saw weird shadows moving around and couldn't tell if it was because of the flashlights or the light of the moon, or just your imagination playing tricks, later on you felt a sense of being watched. As you two walked down the dark hallway, You suddenly felt something cold touch tou shoulder, as you turned around there was nothing there. You started to panic a bit , but Colby held you tight and told you it was just you imagination and you ended up believing his words.
You guys decided to continue the investigation, checking every room and corner of the house. At some point you and Colby even set up some devices to capture any paranormal activity, as you were about to leave one of the rooms, you and Colby heard a loud bang coming from upstairs.
“What do you think it was?” you asked Colby while holding tight his arm.
“I don't know baby, but let's check it out together okay?” he told while giving you a quickly hug and kiss on your forehead.
You smiled at him and you two rushed up to find one of the devices had fallen off and was now lying on the floor. You were now trembling with fear, but Colby hugged you tight and asked you if you wanted to leave, to which tou said yes since you couldn't handle anymore of what was going on in that house. As the two of you stepped outside, you let out the breath you didn't knew you were holding and felt relieved to be out of the haunted house.
While driving back home, Colby held you hand and told you how proud he was of you for being brave, he reminded you that you two were in this together and he would always be there to take care and protect you, like he always did.
In the end, you and Colby didn't capture any concrete evidence of paranormal activity in that house, but you both knew that you had experienced something beyond explanation. You were grateful to have shared the adventure with him even if it was a bit scary, but specially because as soon as you two got back home, Colby put on one of your favorite movies and you guys cuddled in bed waiting for the food you ordered to finally arrive.
Stuck Between a Jock and a Metalhead
Summary: Nancy, on a whim, decides to visit Steve at Scoops Ahoy, which leads to her overhearing confessions from Steve that leads her to think about the decisions she's made. A few days later, she decides to come back. She finds him being hit on by the town freak. What's a girl to do? Oh, get stuck in a freezer with the both of them.
A/N: I imagine Colbie Smulders as Lily.
Chapter One - Chapter Two - Chapter Three - Chapter Four - Chapter Five - Chapter Six - Chapter Seven - Chapter Eight - Chapter Nine - Chapter Ten - Chapter Eleven
Chapter Twelve
Nancy sighed as she lay in bed, staring up at her ceiling. Technically, she was no longer grounded, and she could leave the house if she wanted to, but around this time, she would be heading to the newspaper. That was out of the question, considering she lost her job. Was she still fired? Tom was possessed by the Mind Flayer at the time. She closed her eyes and tried not to think about it or to feel guilty about all of the times she hated Tom. She also tried not to think about Hopper's funeral would be tomorrow. A soft knock on the door startled her out of her thoughts.
"Come in," Nancy called out.
Mike's head appeared in the doorway before he came all the way in. He looked downtrodden.
"I just wanted to see how you were doing," Mike said softly.
"I'm not really sure," Nancy said softly.
"Yeah, me neither," Mike said. "I still can't believe that Hopper is. . ."
"Yeah, I know what you mean," Nancy said.
"We didn't get along, and I was rude to him, but he did help us out. I just hope he didn't think. . .," Mike trailed off.
"He knew how much you cared about him and how much you cared about El," Nancy said softly. "El was his only daughter, and I think it was her extenuating circumstances that made him on edge. I mean, you two have a lot in common. After you thought El was dead, you weren't exactly the happiest person to be around. You were very rude to Max and extremely protective of letting her into your group, kind of protective like Hopper was with El."
"Yeah, I guess so," Mike sniffed.
Nancy got up and hugged her brother tightly. She pulled back and smiled.
"You're getting too tall," Nancy said. "Asshole."
She was about to say something else when the phone on her beside table rang. Nancy spoke quickly and eagerly before hanging it up.
"What was that about?" Mike asked.
"I got my job back at the post!" Nancy grinned. "They got a new Editor!"
"Already?" Mike asked.
"Well, the one female reporter didn't want one the assholes to become the new Editor, so they called in a favor with a friend. The new editor is going to be a woman from a competing newspaper. The new mayor is hoping to clean house and reopen businesses that were closed because of the mall," Nancy said. "And he is hoping to clean up Klein's mess as quickly as possible."
"Man, Eddie's lucky he got to witness Joyce slug the guy," Mike said.
"I got to admit. I'm a bit jealous myself," Nancy said. "Anyway, she wants to meet me, so I guess I'm going in today."
After allowing her mother to drop her off, Nancy walked into the building and headed directly towards the editor's office. A woman with long dark hair and a powder blue pantsuit was unpacking her new office. A nameplate sat on the desk: Lillian Barnes. It matched the name on the diploma on the wall from Emerson College. Nancy stared at it for a while, imaging her own name there.
"It has a great journalism program," the woman's voice startled her out of her musings.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Miss Barnes," Nancy blinked.
"It's Lily, please, and you never have to apologize to me for being ambitious," Lily replied.
Nancy realized that her eyes were just as blue as her pantsuit, and the woman was very tall. She practically towered over Nancy.
"It's a great school?" Nancy asked.
"The best, in my opinion. I might be biased. It was home away from home for me for quite a few years, and it certainly never let me down," Lily said and sat down before pointing at the seat in front of her. "And I love Boston. Do you have a particular college in mind, yet?"
"Not really, keeping my options open," Nancy said. "I plan on applying to lots of places."
"Smart. Well, if you plan to get a degree in journalism, then my suggestion would be to apply to Emerson as well," Lily said.
"I might just take your suggestion," Nancy grinned. "I'm looking forward to seeing what you bring to the table here."
"I bet you are," Lily said. "I bet it was frustrating working with people who are so misogynistic, not to speak ill of the dead or anything."
"It was frustrating, and I did come close to quitting, but then I realized that's probably what they wanted me to. I didn't want to give up this job, and I didn't want to give them the satisfaction of seeing me quit," Nancy said.
"Determined, I like that. What made you get involved with journalism?" Lily asked.
"My friend, Barb, she went missing a while back. Turns out her death was covered up by Hawkins Lab. It had been a chemical spill," Nancy said.
"And who uncovered the truth, I wonder," Lily said, her eyes sparkling.
"I broke into the lab and got them on tape admitting to the cover up, then I worked with a former reporter to reveal the truth," Nancy said and Lily laughed.
"Damn. I like you," Lily said. "Tell me, are you willing to use that same stubbornness that used for your friend to find the truth for other people?"
"Absolutely," Nancy said without hesitation.
"Well, it's definitely going to be interesting working with you. I'll be sad to see you go once school starts, but until then, I'll be putting you to work. Now, you'll still be an intern and do the usual things like answering phones, but I'm not going to waste your other skills either," Lily said.
"Thank you! You won't be disappointed!" Nancy exclaimed.
"I know I won't," Lily grinned. "I look forward to seeing what you bring to the table, Nancy."
A weird feeling settled over her as she started to work throughout the day. Slowly, but surely, life was moving forward, and it felt strange because it was still happening even without Hopper. Nancy knew it was strange to think that time would stop because he did, that the whole world would come to a complete crashing halt because Jim Hopper had died. But no, Jim Hopper had died, and the world kept turning. It left an odd, bitter feeling in her stomach. There was one less grown-up who could keep them safe, and suddenly, Nancy didn't feel quite so safe anymore. She had decided to walk back home after work. She made sure to call her mom and let her know. As she was walking she saw Otis's salon door open and Steve's car out front. Nancy started moving and walked in to find Steve playfully arguing with Robin. He brightened when he saw Nancy.
"Hey, Nance, my parents and siblings just left," Steve said.
"What?" Nancy asked.
"Oh, the Sinclairs and the Hendersons adopted Steve," Robin said.
"Well, that's good. You definitely deserve it," Nancy grinned.
She stepped into his space and pressed her cheek up against his chest, wrapping her arms around his waist.
"What's this?" Steve asked.
"Oh my God. You're so damaged you can't even recognize a hug," Robin said and Nancy giggled.
"Very funny, Robin," Steve said.
"I got my job back at the Post," Nancy said. "There's a new editor and she's amazing."
"That's great!" Steve said. "You deserve it, Nancy."
Nancy sighed, and she gazed up at him.
"I'm not ready for tomorrow," Nancy said softly.
"Neither am I," Steve whispered and kissed her forehead. "I think my lip has done enough healing to risk a little pain."
"Are you sure?" Nancy asked.
"Worth it," Steve said.
"Are you guys allowed to kiss without Eddie here?" Robin asked.
"Yes," Steve and Nancy scoffed.
"I wasn't sure how three people relationships work. Hell, I'm not even sure how people relationships work," Robin said.
Nancy grinned and moved to wrap her arms around Steve’s neck. She pressed her lips to his and sighed in contentment. Kissing Steve again felt a lot like coming home. It was warm, familiar, and safe. She giggled when she felt him smile against her lips. She pulled back when she felt him wince but stayed wrapped up in his arms. No, she definitely wasn't ready for tomorrow, but she felt like she could get through it with Steve there and Eddie. She knew, though, that Eddie would be there mostly for his sister. She burrowed deeper into Steve’s arms, trying to get the image of a sad El out of her head.
The next day dawned bright and early. Nancy woke up before anyone else in her house and sat at her desk, her journal open before her. She stared at the blank page, not knowing what to write, and she sat there until the sun finally came up. Nancy stared at the clock. Time to get ready. Her movements were slow as she showered and put on her black dress. How many times were they going to have to do this? The ride to the church was quiet, and Nancy sat in the back with her siblings, sharing looks with her brother over Holly's head. When they walked into the church, Nancy spotted Eddie standing awkwardly at the front. He was wearing a borrowed suit that hung off his lanky frame. Nancy moved forward to greet him. His eyes lit up when he saw her and immediately pulled her into a hug.
"Glad you're here," Eddie said with a smile.
"Where's El?" Nancy asked.
"Oh, she's in the back with Uncle Wayne and Joyce. She's not handling it very well, which is understandable. I was a basket case myself when my mom died. It helped having Wayne there, though. She hasn't been sleeping, and she tried to run away once because she thought she was being too much," Eddie said and ran his hands over his face, carefully avoiding his nose.
"You haven't slept either," Nancy said softly.
"How can I when I have nightmares of my own?" Eddie asked softly. "And when I'm not having nightmares of my own, it's El. It's back and forth so Wayne's not getting any sleep either. When I'm not having the nightmares, I lay awake at night trying to figure out how to help my own little sister with hers."
"I'm not sure if there's anything you can do except to let her know that you're not going anywhere," Nancy said softly.
"Yeah," Eddie said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Talking about your own will probably let her know that she's not alone," Nancy said.
"This sucks," Eddie muttered.
A moment later, El was coming out from the back of the church, her eyes red and puffy from crying. She approached Nancy and hugged her.
"Thank you for coming," El said softly.
"You're welcome, is there anything that I can do?" Nancy asked.
El shook her head and then she moved past Nancy when she saw Mike. They hugged tightly, El clinging to him as tight as she could. It was then that Nancy noticed Steve walk through the door with Robin. He moved politely through the crowd of people and made his way over to them. He hugged Nancy, kissed her cheek, and then hugged Eddie tightly. El broke away from Mike and moved to wrap her arms around her brother's waist. Lucas, Dustin, and Max arrived last. Lucas and Dustin were with their parents, but Max was by herself. She was by El's side in an instant and stayed there, ignoring everyone else. Nancy heart broke at the thought of Max suffering through her own loss, and she remembered that Max had to watch her own stepbrother die. They all went through too much shit.
Eddie, Wayne, El, and the Byers sat up front while the rest of the party sat behind them. The pastor stood in front of an empty coffin and spoke empty platitudes about a man he didn't really know. If only he knew what Hopper had really done for them, for everyone in this damn town. It was Joyce who stood up and spoke about the man she had known for years that drove the party to tears. It was Joyce who struggled to keep it together, and Nancy knew that this woman had one foot out the door. When they moved things to the cemetery, El had to be carried by Wayne to the grave site.
"What are we going to do now?" Dustin asked as they lowered Hopper's empty coffin into the ground.
Nancy shared a look with Steve, Robin, and Eddie. They realized at the same time that with one less adult in the know, these kids were going to need them now more than ever. What are they going to do if it all happens again? Suddenly, they didn't just lose the greatest man they ever knew, but in some way, they officially lost the last bit of childhood they had been clinging to. It was time to grow up now and make sure that these kids still had something to hang onto.
~~~~~~~~~~~
It was hard to get to sleep after the conversation Tara and I had. I slept on and off all night, never feeling fully rested. I finally woke up mid-afternoon, the sun pouring through the cracks of the almost covered window.
Even though Tara assured me that I wouldn't die, I couldn't help but feel deep within me that that wasn't going to be the case. The idea alone shook me to my core, draining all the energy out of me.
I spent most of the day in Colby's room, lying in bed. Unmoving. I could hear everyone outside coming in and out of the apartment. Colby would occasionally poke his head in, seeing if I was alright. I would just close my eyes, pretending I was asleep. I had no energy to talk about what was going through my mind. Hours passed and it wasn't until I looked at my phone and saw the time that I realized I needed to get ready for work soon. I groaned, getting out of bed, and leaving his room. I slowly trudged to the bathroom.
"You okay, baby?" Colby called from the living room.
I hummed out a response, hoping he heard me. I finished, washed my hands, and left the bathroom. I sighed deeply as I walked towards the kitchen, figuring I should make something to eat before getting ready.
"Jade..." I turned towards Colby, his arms lightly reaching out and his hands grazing my wrists.
"What?" I whispered; my voice unable to speak louder.
Colby cupped my face, making my look into his eyes. "Babe, you look... so tired. Are you okay?"
The softness in his voice and touch made my heart ache. My body felt so heavy, my mind going both a million miles a minute and quiet all at once. I slid my arms around Colby, almost collapsing against him. Tears welled up in my eyes, my vision blurring. Colby rubbed my back, soothing me as I cried into his chest.
"I-I just...." I stuttered, blubbering.
"What, Jade? What is it?" He cooed.
"Every time things feel like they are calming down, they just get worse. Nothing seems to be going right for me, for us. I-I don't know how much more I can take." I shook, my cheeks soaked with tears.
"Try to calm down, Jade. It's gonna be okay." He assured me.
"But how do you know that? I mean, every time I try to catch a break, everything blows up in my face." I pulled back, looking up at him. "I try to take off work to relax, a 500-year-old vampire comes into town and toys with me. And then his brother decides he wants to fuck around with me too. And not only me, but you! Ronnie is constantly getting on my case, and then Mike tries to kill me. And yesterday every vampire I came into contact with was acting weird, only for me to find out that I apparently smell better without my necklace on. And that just adds a whole 'nother layer to all of this."
I finally tried catching my breath, no longer sad - but infuriated. "Am I cursed? That's what it feels like."
Colby shook his head. "I don't think you are. I think you are one person going through a lot in a short period of time that needs a real, serious break. And after what Tara said to you last night, I can only imagine what's going on inside your head."
I scrunched up my face. "How do you know what Tara said?"
"I may have... listened in on your conversation." He blinked.
"Colby." I whined, leaning against the kitchen counter.
"What? You're lucky I haven't locked you up inside my bedroom forever until all this blows over," he joked. "Besides, I don't want to be kept in the dark."
"I would have told you eventually." I argued, somewhat telling the truth.
"Are you sure about that? Because I have a sneaking suspicion that wouldn't happen given the information Tara shared with you about Kat and Xiomara." He lowered his voice, getting close to me.
"Don't tell the rest of the group. Kat begged me not-" I started, placing my hands on his chest.
Colby cut me off, cupping my hands into his. "I don't plan on it. I know there are a lot of vampires out there that would kill Kat for even being a witch, let alone being related to Xiomara. Besides I owe her. She did try to save me."
I exhaled, lowering my head. "I wish I could go somewhere, get away from all of this."
"Even out of the city would be better than this. Especially this dump." He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me in.
"It's not too bad here. It's everything outside that's bad." I mumbled.
Colby held me in his arms tightly, rubbing my back soothingly. I breathed in his scent, warm and comforting. I knew I was safe in his arms. All I wanted was to freeze time and stay like this forever.
"You should call out." He stated plainly.
I huffed. "I don't know if I can. Roger would be really pissed-"
Colby scoffed. "Fuck Roger. Call out. Worse case he fires you."
"Some of us need to have a job that isn't hidden in the shadows or the apartment of a nightclub, Colby." I sassed.
"You can always work here if need be. God knows Kevin needs the extra hands when he can." Colby mentioned.
I paused, realizing he was right, "...That's true, I guess."
His face lightened. "So call out."
"Okay. I won't call though. I don't feel like talking. I'll just text Roger." I grabbed my phone out of my pocket.
"Sounds like a plan," he smiled, leaving the kitchen. "I have to step out for a minute and make a call. I'll be right back."
Colby walked out the apartment door, pulling out his phone as he closed it. I texted Roger that I wasn't coming in. I turned my phone on silent mode, not wanting to hear from him or Ronnie about me not showing up tonight.
I don't know why I was concerned about a job that barely paid me enough to live. With all the shit going on in my life right now, they're lucky I even show up at all.
Colby came back in a moment later, grinning. "Jade, go pack a bag."
"What? Why?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I want to take you somewhere, and we might be there for a bit." He explained, rubbing my arms sweetly.
"Well, where is 'there'?" I questioned.
"I can't tell you. That will ruin the surprise." Colby turned me towards the bedroom, slapping my ass lightly, "Now, go pack."
I didn't have too many clothes to pack in the first place, so it only took me a couple minutes to get ready. I changed into nicer clothes and walked out of Colby's room. He went in his room, grabbing a few things together, and was ready within a minute.
Vampire speed... must be nice.
Colby grabbed my hand, walking me out of the club's back entrance. He waved at Kevin, who gave him a casual salute as we passed. As we got outside, he pulled me to the garage across the street that was owned by the club.
"What are we doing over here?" I asked.
"Well, we gotta drive to get to our destination so I figured we could use my car." Colby replied, pulling out his keys and unalarming a car in the back corner of the garage. I followed him towards a car wrapped in a tarp.
"Is it a nice one?" I quired.
"Um," he shrugged. "I think it is."
Colby pulled the tarp off of his car, and underneath was an older model Toyota Corolla. It was a muted red color, and the interior was a beige nude color.
I stared over the top of the car at him. "This is the car you drive?"
"I don't really drive all that often anymore. But when I do... I ride in style." He opened his arms wide, gesturing to the car with a playful smile.
"Does Kevin not pay you enough to afford a nicer car? Hell, even a newer one?" I glanced over the car, biting my lip.
"Hey now, don't make fun of the honeywagon. She's gotten me very far in life, thank you very much." He rebutted jokingly.
"The honey-what?" I deadpanned.
"You heard me." Colby smirked, his dimples appearing for a brief moment. "Now, are you gonna keep making fun of my car, or are you going to get in?"
I rolled my eyes, opening the passenger door. I slid in, adjusting my seat a bit, and dropped my bag into the back seat. Colby got in, putting his bag in the back as well, and started the car immediately.
"I'm surprise she starts." I jeered lightly.
Colby rubbed the steering wheel, "Just because she's from 2007 does not mean she doesn't run like a champ."
"2007? Wow, that's... a long time ago." I snickered.
"Hey, when I bought this car in 2009, it was pretty new then." He responded.
My eyes widened. "You bought this car back in 2009?"
Colby backed the car up and out of the garage, starting us on our journey. "Yeah. When I turned 18, I found out that my mom left me a good amount of money. It wasn't enough for me to get my own place, but it was enough to pay for this car. I pretty much spent all of her money on this."
My stomach dropped, my previous words hitting me. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have made fun-"
"It's okay Jade," he chuckled at my expression. "You ain't the first to rag on the honeywagon. Mike has given me shit over it for years. But, like I always tell him, it's sentimental."
I paused before continuing, knowing this was a touchy subject. "What happened to your mom? ...If you don't mind me asking."
Colby swallowed, his eyes remaining on the road. "My mom died of a heart attack when I was 10, and my dad had died back when I was a toddler, so I never really knew him. So, I didn't really have any other family around... besides Aunt Susan. She was also legally my godmother, so she was obligated to take me in. She got the house and everything else my mom left, even though most of it was left for me."
I lowered my voice, "The vision I saw of her and you. She grabbed you by your throat so aggressively. How often was she... like that?"
"The one moment you did see was basically how every day went. She always treated me like I was a burden, even back when I was a kid. She constantly belittled me, told me I wasn't good enough, and compared me to my mother in the worse way. It made me sick living there. And I had plans to move out as soon as I turned 18, but things never lined up well enough for me." He laughed bitterly, "And of course she wanted to kick me out the moment I was an adult, but she couldn't afford to live in the house without my extra income so once I finished high school, I moved to the basement and basically turned it into a little apartment. I never saw her unless I had to and all I did was go to work and come home. And that was my life for a long time."
"Did you have friends?" I inquired.
"I mean, I had a couple, but none that were actually close. Plus, once vampires came out to the public, a lot of people saw me as a pariah because of my aunt." He informed.
I frowned. "Why?"
"She was known in our town, affectionally, as a blood whore." Colby drove us onto the highway, leading us away from the city.
"Jesus..." I whispered, surprised.
"When vampires first came out, a lot of people were scared of them. But my aunt wasn't one of them. She was very... welcoming, to say the least. And she found out very quickly that vampire's blood was something worth befriending over." He remarked, his tone dull.
"She used to drink vampire blood?" I gaped.
"All the time. She used to give her blood to vampires in exchange - sometimes for money, sometimes for their blood. She became an addict to it, to some degree. Vampire blood, if drank a lot and in high quantities, can cause the person to feel high. So, she did that a lot of the times. She had a lot of vampire boyfriends. None of them ever stayed around too long. Just long enough for her to get her fix and then move onto the next..." His voice fell off for a moment, coming back more emotional; angrier. "Until Xaiver."
I reached over, placing my hand on Colby's forearm, rubbing it softly.
"She didn't exactly hang around with the best vampires, but he was especially sketchy. A lot of local vampires didn't fuck with him, but of course she still found her way to him. I found out later what happened with her and him. Because he was a dealer, he would sell his blood in vials. They met in some bar, and a week later went out on a ‘date’. He gave her a vial of his blood. And he expected that in return she would do the same the next date. But there never was another date. She just stole his blood and dipped. Hid in the house for two weeks in case he was out hunting for her - which he was. Eventually he heard that she had a kid that she took care of and that's how he found me." He glared at the road ahead, his jaw tense.
"I'm sorry that happened to you. You didn't deserve that." I consoled; the flashes of his memory played in my mind.
"It was such a weird feeling... turning into a vampire. I had heard stories of what it was like, and none of them explained it the way I felt it. Everything became sharp and intense. I was seeing colors I couldn't see before, lights were brighter, everything smelled so strong, and I could hear everything around me all at once. And the emotions - those are what really took me by surprise. I felt.... everything," Colby took a ragged breath. "Anything I had ever held back, anything I ever thought, I felt it. In that very moment. It was all so overwhelming. That word doesn't even do it justice."
I laced my fingers with his free hand, giving him a squeeze. "I can only imagine."
"I think my powers also made it ten times worse, at least for me. The moment I touched my aunt... I saw everything about her. Her whole entire life flashed before my eyes. Everything she ever felt or thought came to me. And I hated every second of it." He fumed lowly, sliding his hand out of my own for a moment.
I stayed silent, just watching Colby. His eyes remained on the road, but they were intense, dark. His one hand gripped the steering wheel while other rested softly on my thigh.
"I always thought that she didn't love me. I knew for a fact she didn't like me, you didn't need supernatural powers to know that. But I had hoped she cared, even a little. And there were times in her life she did. But deep down she never... wanted me," he confessed, his voice almost falling to a whisper. He swallowed and continued, "She was extremely jealous of the life my mom had. My mom had a great husband until he passed, she had a house, a family - everything my aunt wanted but could never get for whatever reason. And I was just a reminder of that. She gladly took the house, the car, my mom's money, but she didn't really want me. And knowing that she was actually kind of glad when my mom passed... I couldn't have stopped myself even if I wanted to."
"I don't blame you for what you did." I stated, looking into his eyes.
He blinked, turning back to the road. "When the police showed up, I told them that a vampire came in and attacked us both. They believed me because of her history, took her body to the morgue, and that was it. I paid for a funeral I didn't attend and buried her. I sold the house and any other possessions I could and never turned back."
"What happened to Xavier?" I uttered.
"I killed him before I left town. He was the second person I ever killed." He revealed.
I furrowed my brow, "He was hardly a person. He was a monster for what he did to you."
"Sometimes I regret killing either one of them. But then I think most likely if I hadn't, someone else would've. They both messed around with a lot of strange people..." He trailed off.
I tried to change the subject, sensing that Colby was getting tired of talking about this one. "What age did you get turned at?"
"22. I was about to be 23." He answered.
"How old would you be now?" I thought out loud.
"I would be 28. I was only born in '91." He stated.
"Oh my God... I'm dating an older man?" I gasped. "Sexy."
He finally cracked a genuine smile. "Why don't you get some rest? We have a long drive ahead of us."
"You still haven't told me where we're going." I argued light-heartedly.
"Well, clearly it's up in the mountains." He pointed to the mountains in the distance.
"I can tell that. But where?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"You'll see eventually." He teased.
"You never fully explained why you're driving there. Couldn't we have vampire ran?" I questioned.
"It's a couple hours away, and while I'm strong I don't think I could run that far. Plus, I wanted to spend time with you, even if you're just asleep." He turned to me, giving me a wink. "So, get some rest."
I snuggled into my seat, leaning back a bit and staring out the window. The quiet sound of the radio and Colby's breathing lulled me to sleep in no time.
~\/\/~
"Baby, it's time to get up. We're here." Colby whispered, his soothing voice waking me.
I opened my eyes slowly, trying to focus them. The lights of the car illuminated the forest around us. And a few feet from the car was a cabin. A little porch with two red chairs rested on the outside with a set of stairs leading up to it. The cabin looked well taken care of, the light on the outside inviting us in. Little white flowers adorned the path leading to the stairs and around the whole property.
I got out of the car, my eyes widening at the sight. It was still dark out, but the sun would be rising soon, the sky a lighter blue than before. I turned towards Colby, who had both of our bags in his hands. He raced up the stairs, entering the cabin and turning the lights on. I walked up the path to the house, gliding up the stairs and into the cabin. I took in all of the little details of the place: the dark wooden interior, the rock wall fireplace, the cozy deep red couches, the soft oak table right outside of the kitchen. Everything about this place was beautiful. The house even smelled good, a mix of cinnamon and mahogany.
"So, what do you think?" He breathed almost nervously.
I gazed around the cabin, trying to take in every detail that I could. "Colby... how did you get a place like this last minute?"
"Well, Kevin knows a guy that owns this house. And I asked him to ask the guy if it was okay for us to come up here. And he said it was fine. We've all come up here before, sometimes just to get away from the city." Colby stepped closer to me. "Did you notice the white flowers outside?"
I nodded my head. "Yeah I did. Wait... are those-?"
He cut me off, smiling. "Angelica californica, to be exact."
"They grow here?" I questioned.
"Naturally, but we also add to the population occasionally." He joked, his dimples appearing.
"So... no vampires?" I whispered.
He replied back just as quiet. "No vampires. Except for me, of course."
I jumped up, hugging him tightly. "Oh Colby. This is the best present ever. Thank you."
"Of course, baby. You deserve this, and so much more." He pulled back, his arms still wrapped around me, "So, the closest cabin is about a mile away. Same with the closest town. I figured in an hour or two we can go into town, maybe get some breakfast at the diner? And then afterwards I can pick us up some groceries, that way you aren't starving the whole week we're here."
I gasped, "We're gonna be here for a week? Oh no, Colby, I only called out for a day.”
"Ehh, don't worry. You have off this weekend, right? Stay here with me, and we'll worry about all of that on Monday." Colby argued.
"I have a feeling I won't want to leave though." I exhaled dramatically.
He feigned concern. "Oh no... whatever will we do?"
I smacked his chest, a laugh erupting from him.
"Go take a shower, and I'll unpack our bags. Sound good?" He held my hands, giving them a light squeeze.
I nodded, walking into the bedroom and pulling out some clothes to change into for after my shower.
I took the longest shower of my life, scrubbing all the stress away and off my body. By the time I had gotten out, it had been an hour, and the diner was ready to open. Colby and I drove into town, enjoying the view of the quaint place. The diner wasn't packed, but a steady stream of customers were coming in and out for the breakfast rush. We sat down at a table and enjoyed our meal slowly, people-watching the whole time. We walked through town, looking at all the little shops and stopping in a few. I bought a mug with the town's name on it, Colby rolled his eyes as I did. We then went to the grocery store, picking up a few things to make lunch and dinner. Colby wasn't much of a cook, and neither was I, so we settled on pasta for tonight. We drove home, but I didn't feel like settling in yet.
"Do you wanna go on a hike?" Colby suggested.
And we did just that. The fresh air almost burned my lungs, the crispness feeling sharp with every breath. It had been overcast out all day, making it the perfect weather to walk in. I found a stream not too far away from our cabin, following it down until it opened up to a lake. We sat at the dock of the lake, staring out into the water, huddled close to each other.
Then the skies opened up, rain pouring and soaking us instantly. We laughed as we raced home, Colby holding my hand the whole time. Eventually when we were close, Colby picked me up bridal style and sped me into the cabin. Thunder crackled in the distance, making the ground shake. Colby started a fire, and the cabin warmed up instantly.
I didn't remember falling asleep, but I did. I woke up wrapped up in a blanket, a soft pillow resting under me. The tv was on, playing a random channel I hadn't seen before. The cabin smelled of butter and pasta sauce. I looked at the time, and it was already 5:36 P.M.
"Good evening, sleepy head. Dinner will be ready soon, if you wanna get up." Colby spoke from the kitchen.
I stretched, getting up and heading towards his voice. "You should have woke me sooner. I would have helped with dinner."
He snickered, "I'm not that clueless when it comes to making pasta. Besides, you looked too peaceful, and I figured after the long day of walking around your body could use some more rest."
"Well, I'll at least set the table." I pulled out two dishes, walking over to the table and placing them down. I noticed in the little vase there were three flowers: two things of angelica and a single rose.
He noticed me staring, "I got that for you at the grocery store. I made sure to hide it so you wouldn't see."
"You are literally too sweet to me." I leaned in, pecking his lips.
He shrugged half-heartedly. "I don't know about too sweet, but I'm definitely trying my best here.”
My face dropped, turning to look at him completely. "Colby, you got me a cabin, drove me all the way here just so I could catch a break. You bought me breakfast and groceries and are now making me dinner. If that isn't sweet, I don't know what is."
He looked down, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink. He continued stirring the pasta.
Oh my God... I made Colby blush.
A moment later, he turned off the heat, dumping the pasta water out and into the heated sauce. He mixed that up for a minute and turned to me. "I think it's ready."
We ate dinner slowly, enjoying each bite. Maybe it was because I hadn't had a homecooked meal in ages, but the pasta was to die for. We chatted the whole time, commenting on our day and the different things we saw at the diner and the lake. Once we finished, Colby poured some wine for us. A lull finally fell into our conversation, but we still sat in the dining room, sipping our wine. Colby held my hand, lightly running his thumb back and forth.
I squeezed his hand gently. "Thank you so much for this, Colby. Truly. I needed this escape so badly."
"Of course, Jade. I'll be honest though; this wasn't just an escape for you. It was for me too. I'm not exactly... not stressed, about everything going on." He took a long sip from his wine glass, his voice low.
I sighed deeply, gazing down at the table. "It's insane how crazy our lives have gotten in such a short time."
Colby nodded his head, finishing off his wine. He reached out his now free hand, wanting to hold mine. I gave him it, cupping his gently. His grip tightened as he began to speak.
"I'm... scared, of what's to come, Jade."
My heart sank at his words, his voice catching me off guard. He kept his head down as he continued.
"I want to be able to protect you, and I think I can, but there is a part of me that thinks I'm not enough. That I'm not strong enough. And especially if someone like Rinaldi or Max is coming after you... it's true. And it terrifies me that that's the truth. Hearing what Tara said to you, that there's the possibility that my greatest fear could happen, that you could die... I don't know what I would do with myself. I can't lose you, Jade. You're the first person I've let in in such a long time and I just can't..." His voice waivered as he trailed off, his head lowered to our hands, resting on them.
I felt a single tear slide down my face, unaware that his words did that to me. I wanted to reach out and grab him, pull him as close to me as possible and never let go. I wasn't sure what to say, but as we both stayed quiet for a moment, I felt myself utter words I knew to be true.
"I love you, Colby."
I could feel Colby freeze, halting his breath. He picked his head up slowly, his eyes almost staring through me. My heart sped up at his intense look.
"I know this might seem sudden... but I've felt this way for a long time." I shuttered out a breath, not realizing how nervous I was, "I don't expect you to say it back."
"I-I... want to, though. I just," his voice fell off, his eyes boring down at our still laced hands. "I've never had anyone say that to me."
My heart shattered, "No one's ever said I love you to you before?"
"Not since I was young. All of our friends have made passing remarks, saying that they care about me, but... not ‘I love you’. Not like how you said it." He murmured.
I squeezed his hands, running my thumb over his knuckles. I leaned down and kissed the top of them, looking up at him briefly. The silence filled the room, and I could see Colby wanted to speak, but was unsure of what to say. I truly didn't expect him to say it back, but part of me hoped for some response soon. My ears rang from the quiet.
Colby's eyes connected with mine, his icy blues gazing deep. "I'm not good at talking. I've never been great at saying what I feel. But I think I can show you... what I feel."
He stood up, pulling me to my feet. He cupped my face gently, his hand feeling almost cold against my hot skin. He leaned in slowly, pressing his body into me. His lips captured mine, an electric charge surging through my body instantly. I wrapped my arms around his neck, my fingers running through his hair.
Colby pushed me lightly against the table, his hands sliding down my body until he reached my hips. He gripped them tightly, the feeling causing a light sigh to fall from my lips. He smirked into the kiss, pulling away briefly to lift me up onto the table. He placed me down, connecting his lips with mine again. I wrapped my legs around his hips, squeezing him into me. Our kiss deepened, our tongues dancing with one another. Suddenly, he scooped me up from the table, walking me to the bedroom carefully.
He got me to the edge of the bed, dropping me softly. I gasped as I fell back, my legs dangling off the bed as he stared down at me. I swear for a second, I saw his eyes flash red as he scanned my body. My heart raced at the thought of what he could, and would, do to me.
He leaned down, hovering over me as he murmured in my ear. "I want to make you feel good, Jade."
I bit my lip, "I-I want you to do that."
Colby chuckled, kissing down my neck. He nipped at my collarbone; goosebumps rose across my skin as he did. He kept kissing down my body, my chest heaving as he got closer to my sex. I could feel the fire already burning deep within me growing. I wanted him so badly and for so long. And now, it was finally happening.
He raised my shirt up slowly, his hands stopping just underneath my bra. He looked into my eyes and nodded my head, sitting up and letting him pull my shirt off. He gazed over my newly exposed skin, taking in every inch of it. He glided his head down, his breath fanning just above the button of my pants. I shuddered at the feeling, needing him to keep going.
"I've wanted to taste you for so long, Jade." He glanced up at me, a whine almost falling from his lips, "Can I? Please?"
My panties grew wetter from the desperation in his voice. I nodded, unable to speak. Colby unbuttoned my pants, sliding them down my body hastily. His hands cupped my hips, his mouth kissing just above my underwear. My breath hitched at the sensation, my body tensing.
"You're already so wet for me... God, I need to taste you now." He growled.
He pulled my underwear off, throwing it behind him. I bit my lip as the cool air of the cabin hit my naked sex. My hips arched, wanting Colby to give me some relief.
"Use your words, baby. What do you want from me?" He teased, kissing my thighs.
I shuttered, "C-Colby, please. I need you so badly."
"To what?" He blinked innocently.
"Make me come with your tongue." I mewled.
Colby clenched his jaw at my words, his eyes closing tightly for a moment. "Whatever you want, baby. It's yours."
His mouth immediately connected with my clit, pulling it into his mouth and gently sucking on it. Pleasure rolled down my body, my legs instinctively wrapping around his head and resting on his shoulders. As he continued to play with my clit, his fingers lightly brushed up and down my lips, teasing my entrance.
"Oh my God, fuck Colby." I moaned, my eyes fluttering close.
He buried his head deeper into my cunt, his tongue and fingers switching positions. He lapped at my hole, his middle finger rubbing slow circles into my clit.
My hips bucked out his actions, whines falling from my mouth. He kept his pace slow and deep, causing pleasure to roll down my body over and over again.
I could feel my body getting closer to the edge, but I wanted him, needed him, inside of me. "Colby...."
"Yes, beautiful?" He hummed, picking his head up.
"Please.... I need you." I whimpered, my fingers tracing up his face as he looked at me.
He slowed raised up to my face, his mouth pressed closed to my ear. "You need me inside of you?"
"Yes," I shook my head desperately.
"How badly do you need me, baby? Tell me." He demanded teasingly.
"Colby, please." I pawed at his chest, still covered by his shirt, "I need you to take this off, right fucking now."
"Yeah?" He smirked, sitting up and pulling his shirt off with one arm.
My hands immediately slid up his chest, feeling his muscles tighten under my touch. I bit my lip, taking in every inch of him.
Suddenly, Colby's face changed. He lowered himself back down to me, his body resting against mine firmly. I could feel his bulge pressing hard into my thigh. That sent a shockwave through me, knowing I was turning him on.
"Jade... I want you," he swallowed hard. "I want you so badly. I've needed you for so long."
He leaned in, our lips connecting in a passionate kiss. My breath was instantly taken from me, my chest heaving from needed oxygen. My hands drifted down his body, undoing and sliding his pants down enough so that I could grasp his hard member. He gasped against my mouth, his grip on my hips tightening. He thrusted slowly into my hand as I held him. I could tell just from a few pumps that he was big. My pussy clenched at the feeling.
"Are you ready for me, baby?" He whispered lowly, his deep voice sending shivers down my spine.
I nodded, a tiny whimper escaping my mouth.
Colby kissed along my neck as he pulled his pants down all the way. His hands slid behind me and popped my bra off, yanking it away from my body quickly. I giggled at his actions; his neediness just as present as mine.
He reached over to the nightstand, opening the drawer and grabbing a condom. He rolled the condom down his shaft, my eyes widening at his now completely naked form. He was so beautiful, in more ways than one. My breath hitched in my throat as I took in as much as I could.
He leaned his head against mine, the tip of his cock teasing my entrance. "Do you still want this? Do you still want to do this?"
"Of course. More than ever." I cupped his face gently, pecking his lips.
He lined himself up, his eyes boring into mine for just a moment. As he entered me, he closed his eyes tightly, his mouth a gape. I moaned as he stretched me out, filling me deeply.
"Fuck Jade, you feel so good." He grunted, his chest vibrating from how deep his voice was.
Once he was completely inside of me, his eyes shot open, two red orbs staring back at me. Veins popped out from under his skin by his eyes. And his parted mouth showed fangs.
I gazed up at him, excited by the vampire before me. I've only ever seen him like this once, and now it felt completely different. Back then I barely even knew him. And now, he was the love of my life.
"I'm sorry, baby. Give me a second, okay?" Colby hissed, closing his eyes and resting his forehead against mine.
I hushed him, cupping his face, "No, it's okay Colby. I'm not scared. You don't scare me."
Colby exhaled. "That's good to know. But I still don't like having my fangs out while I'm fucking you."
I stuttered out, "I... don't mind."
"Oh? You like the fangs?" He sassed, his hips slowly starting to move.
"Yeah." I whispered bashfully, a light blush creeping across my skin.
"You're blushing.... oh my God, that's so fucking hot." He cursed.
I gripped his back a little hard, pulling him deeper into me as he thrusted. I matched his pace, our bodies moving as one.
Colby leaned into my neck, kissing and licking my skin. His fangs grazed against me, goosebumps forming. I let out a light gasp as he pressed his fangs in further, but never broke skin.
He groaned, his voice in my ear. "Do you want me to bite you? I can feel you squeezing around me tighter every time I almost do."
I inhaled sharply, taken aback by his tone. Colby chuckled darkly into my ear, his hips picking up speed.
"You want it, don’t you? Just admit it." He smirked.
I let out a raspy sound, unable to say anything. He was right, I did want him to bite me. But I wasn't going to say it. At least not yet.
"Make me." I uttered bravely.
His stare intensified, his lips twitching into a smile. "Fine."
Colby pinned down my hands to the bed with one hand, while his other shimmied down in between our bodies. He forced my legs apart wider, two of his fingers pushing lightly against my clit. He started stroking in time with his thrusts, which only got deeper and harder. I cried out in pleasure, my eyes rolling into the back of head from the new sensation.
"Tell me you need it. Tell me you want me to bite you." He ordered, staring into my eyes.
"Fuck, Colby! Pleaseeee." I whined, my brain turning to mush with his actions.
He grunted, his hips shuttering. "God I'm getting so close, Jade. Say what you want, baby. I'll give it to you. I'll give you whatever you want."
"Bite me, please." I whimpered.
"Say it louder, Jade." He hissed.
"Bite me, Colby!" I moaned louder, my pleasure building more and more. I could feel myself almost going over the edge. Fuck, I needed him to make me come.
"One more time, sweetheart. Say it for me now!" His voice thundered, his thrusts going deeper and deeper into me.
"Oh my God, please bite me! Please! I'm so fucking close!" I shouted desperately, my hips bucking wildly. I tried to force my hands out from under his hold, but they wouldn't budge. I just struggled against him as he kept up his fast-paced movements.
"Good girl, baby. Come for me." He growled, and then slammed his fangs into my neck. It was all overwhelming - the sensation of his fangs, his thrusts, and his words - and it immediately sent my body into overdrive. My orgasm ripped through me, my hips spasming in time with his. I cried out in pleasure, unable to hold back any sounds I had in me. He drank my blood slowly, but just the slight loss made my head all the more lighter.
"Oh shit I'm coming! Fuuuuuckkk-" Colby pounded into me over and over again, exploding in ecstasy as my blood leaked down his chin from my mouth. His red eyes almost glared down at me, intensely staring into my soul. I could feel his aura appear around us, engulfing us both. I was too out of my mind to care. Everything about this moment made my head spin and my mind blank out.
Once our orgasms subsided, Colby's body crashed down on top of mine. He let go of one of my hands, the other lacing fingers with his. We laid there and just breathed with one another, trying to slow down our racing hearts. It felt like forever before he finally picked his head up.
He picked his head up quickly, his mouth a gape. "Shit, I forgot you were bleeding. Here, let me give you some of my blood."
I slurred, "Nooo, y-you don't-"
"You're have no room to argue with me, sweetheart." Colby took his finger in his mouth, biting open the pad of it. Then he brought it to my lips. "Open up, baby."
I allowed his finger into my mouth, the metallic taste making me wince until suddenly changing into something sweet. I sucked on his finger, feeling the lightheadedness slowly going away.
"That's right... there you go. I didn't drink too much from you, so you don't need too much from me." A moment later, he slid his finger out of my mouth, a light ‘pop’ noise following.
"I-I was enjoying that, you know." I joked, sighing.
"I was too." He leaned in close, "There's a reason why I'm still hard inside of you."
We both giggled, his mischievous eyes softening. He pulled out of me a moment later, relaxing back on the bed beside me. We laid there silently, just listening to each other breathe. With a slight look, his hands grasped around my wrist, lightly tugging me over to him until my head was laying on his chest. He sighed deeply, snuggling into me more. I began to drift off, his soft breathing lulling me to sleep. We laid like this for hours, barely moving except to pull the blankets higher.
A ring tone ripped through the silent room. I glanced up at Colby who read his phone. "It's just Mike. He can leave a message."
I snuggled back in, waiting for the phone to stop. It did for a moment, only to start ringing again. The same tone and all.
"There's no reason for Mike to need me. He knows we’re up here. I left a note." He rolled his eyes, slightly annoyed.
"Okay." I laid my head down, but I didn't shut my eyes. Something churned in my stomach as I stared at the phone, hoping it wouldn't ring again.
But then it did.
Colby groaned, grabbing his phone off the table, and answering it. "What Mike?"
I could hear Mike's muffled voice, and it sounded panic.
Colby froze at Mike's words. He slowly rose from bed, my body falling off his. "What?"
My breath hitched. Something happened.
"Yeah. Yeah. We'll be there as soon as we can be. Tell him to hold on. I'm leaving right now." His tone was serious and pointed. He hung up the phone, getting out of bed quickly.
My stomach sank, my eyes widened. "What happened, Colby? What's wrong?"
He threw on his clothes hastily, turning to me. "It's Sam. Someone attacked him at the club tonight. We have to leave."
