Dante Meadows
"You've been staring at me for a while. Do you need something from me?"
: ̗̀➛ Age: 16
: ̗̀➛ Gender: Male
: ̗̀➛ Pronouns: He/Him
: ̗̀➛ Species: Demigod
: ̗̀➛ Abilities:
> Shadow traveling
> Control over shadows
> Radiating an aura of death
Backstory
He was raised in the underworld after his mortal mom died in childbirth. Hades was normally very busy and didn't have a lot of time to spend with him due to him literally ruling the underworld, so he learned to be independent very early on. His relationship with Hades is complicated because while he does respect and is loyal to his father; from his perspective, he thinks that Hades values his job more than him. Therefore, he wants to get stronger so that his father will 'finally notice him'.
He feels neglected by Hades since the latter didn't spend a whole lot of time with him, but he also understands that his father's job is incredibly important, leading him to feel conflicted. He does have a fear of abandonment (strengthened by his mother's death), which makes it even harder to form genuine connections.
Despite being a child of Hades, he didn't want to seem totally goth. He didn't want to lose his personality to meet others' expectations. Therefore, he dyed his hair (originally black) pink.
He likes the darkness of the underworld and finds comfort in the shadows. Since he grew up in the underworld, he isn't really all that caught up with how the modern world works— at all. He does know the weaknesses to a lot of monsters, though, so he's pretty strong in a fight.
He occasionally visits Camp Half-Blood, where he resides in Cabin 13. He gets along with pretty much everyone, despite not having a lot of knowledge about popular topics such as celebrities and things like that. Everyone knows where he comes from, though, so they don't tease him about it (much).
~ Chibi Dante
Personality
He's very clever, confident, and blunt. He always has a witty response or a sharp comeback when insults are directed toward him. Even though he sometimes misses social cues, he's very flirty and is generally likeable. Despite this, he feels isolated and lonely, even among other demigods. He has a hard time maintaining relationships, platonic or otherwise, and always keeps people at arms length.
He has a hard time trusting people, which is a result of him fearing being rejected. He does want to form genuine connections with people, but he isn't quite sure how, so you'd have to bring it up first. And put a lot of effort into it as well. While he may act as though the negative comments don't affect him, deep down, it hurts him and his self-esteem. He pretty much just masks his negative emotions with a carefree, bold mask to protect himself.
Additional information
> He's openly bisexual and will shamelessly flirt with pretty much anyone he finds attractive/is his type, though he does lean more toward guys.
> He's in a relationship with Justin Ashfield (going on one year).
> Given that he lives in the underworld, nothing like bad smells, scary-looking monsters, or things like that scare or bother him. Well, even if something did really scare him, he probably wouldn't let it show anyways.
> He is what most would call "conventionally attractive". Yeah, before his heritage was revealed, several people thought he was a son of Aphrodite, which he found funny and didn't bother to correct them. Though not everyone likes him, mainly to his snarky attitude and uncaring personality.
> His favorite food is pomegranate seeds (Persephone often gave them to him as a snack so he grew to like them a lot).
> He really likes horse-like creatures of any kind, though he especially likes Aethon, Alastor, Podargos, and Xanthos (the horses that pull Hades' chariot) as he grew up around them.

They are children, Sansa thought. They are silly little girls, even Elinor. They've never seen a battle, they've never seen a man die, they know nothing. Their dreams were full of songs and stories, the way hers had been before Joffrey cut her father's head off. Sansa pitied them. Sansa envied them

There’s been a few “Gale isn’t that bad posts lately. Yeah, he wasn’t evil, but he wasn’t good either. And that’s on purpose.
On a meta level THG trilogy is a retelling of Dante’s Comedies. Gale is Virgil, Katniss is Dante, and Peeta is Beatrice.
Virgil (and therefore Gale) represents human reason, while Beatrice (Peeta) represents divine love. Katniss is Dante, moving from Virgil to Beatrice, who then transcends to Paradise (or a world where Peeta's children can play in the meadow).
Here’s the gist:
In the opening scene of The Inferno, the first book of The Divine Comedy, Dante (the author, the main character, and the first-person narrator) awakens in a dark wood midway through his life’s journey, having strayed from the True Way. A shade (i.e., a spirit or ghost) of the Roman poet Virgil appears to Dante, having been sent by Beatrice to lead Dante on a journey through Hell, Purgatory, and eventually Paradise (Heaven). Virgil leads Dante through the various circles of Hell and partway up the ascent of Purgatory before Beatrice takes over as Dante’s guide the remainder of the way through Purgatory and on to Paradise.
So why must Beatrice take over for Virgil as Dante’s guide? Virgil symbolizes human reason in The Divine Comedy, the power and achievements of the human intellect left to its own devices without God, without the redemption offered by Jesus Christ, and without the influence of the Holy Spirit. Human reason is symbolized elsewhere in The Divine Comedy by the faint illumination coming from a citadel, what translator John Ciardi calls the “Citadel of Human Reason” in Limbo, the first circle of Hell (see The Divine Comedy, Canto IV), where the virtuous pagans and unbaptized souls, those who were otherwise virtuous but who lived prior to the incarnation of Jesus, and those who were unbaptized and thus unable to be redeemed and allowed to enter Paradise, reside eternally. Virgil explains to Dante that Limbo is where he resides as well, having both lived and died before the time of Christ. Limbo is a place of no punishment but still one of eternal separation from God’s love, and hence a place of no further hope. At the Citadel of Human Reason in Limbo, Dante finds the great humanistic philosophers in the history of philosophy: Socrates, Plato, Democritus, Diogenes, Thales, Anaxagoras, Zeno, Heraclitus, Empedocles, Cicero, and Seneca—even Euclid, Ptolemy, Hippocrates, and other figures symbolizing the great achievements of pure human reason. Because Virgil symbolizes human reason, and because of the general Medieval mindset that human reason alone cannot lead to salvation, Virgil, by definition, cannot lead Dante into Paradise.
For Dante’s journey into Paradise he must have another guide: Beatrice, Dante’s symbol of divine love. Beatrice, of course, was Dante’s principle love interest, as described in Dante’s La Vita Nuova, a collection of Dante’s poems with his own explanation of their meaning and symbolism. In La Vita Nuova, Dante recounts three key events in his interaction with Beatrice: when he first becomes enamored with her as an adolescent, when she rejects him nine years later, and Beatrice’s death at age 25. The fact that the first two events occurred at nine-year intervals, the number nine (the square of three, the number of the Holy Trinity) traditionally representing perfection, undoubtedly influenced not only Dante’s view of Beatrice as symbolic of divine love both within The Divine Comedy and in the structure of The Divine Comedy itself: nine circles of Hell, three books of 33 cantos each for a total of 99 cantos, etc.
Side note, a huge clue the the trilogy is a retelling is the format that the author used: 3 books, each has 3 parts, each part has 9 chapters…
Anyways, Gale symbolically represents man and man’s base desires. This is shown through his *slight* inability to control his sexual desire for Katniss
Then suddenly, as I was suggesting I take over the daily snare run, he took my face in his hands and kissed me. I was completely unprepared. You would think that after all the hours I’d spent with Gale — watching him talk and laugh and frown — that I would know all there was to know about his lips. But I hadn’t imagined how warm they would feel pressed against my own. Or how those hands, which could set the most intricate of snares, could as easily entrap me. I think I made some sort of noise in the back of my throat, and I vaguely remember my fingers, curled tightly closed, resting on his chest. Then he let go and said, “I had to do that. At least once.” And he was gone.
and through his understanding but lack of compassion for the “other” both at home
Gale knows his anger at Madge is misdirected. On other days, deep in the woods, I’ve listened to him rant about how the tesserae are just another tool to cause misery in our district. A way to plant hatred between the starving workers of the Seam and those who can generally count on supper and thereby ensure we will never trust one another. “It’s to the Capitol’s advantage to have us divided among ourselves,” he might say if there were no ears to hear but mine. If it wasn’t reaping day. If a girl with a gold pin and no tesserae had not made what I’m sure she thought was a harmless comment. As we walk, I glance over at Gale’s face, still smoldering underneath his stony expression.
and during wartime
At some point, Gale and Beetee left the wilderness behind and focused on more human impulses. Like compassion. A bomb explodes. Time is allowed for people to rush to the aid of the wounded. Then a second, more powerful bomb kills them as well. “That seems to be crossing some kind of line,” I say. “So anything goes?” They both stare at me — Beetee with doubt, Gale with hostility.
“They could still escape through the train tunnel to the square,” says Beetee. “Not if we blow it up,” says Gale brusquely. His intent, his full intent, becomes clear. Gale has no interest in preserving the lives of those in the Nut. No interest in caging the prey for later use.
His character is not meant to be evil or good, but morally questionable.
Katniss started in a low place and transcended to a higher level of being, from survival to living with purpose. Peeta started high with a strong sense of self and a higher level of goodness, descends with the torture and highjacking, and then ascends again after a lot of struggle. Gale's arc is static. He is basically the same from the beginning of the book to the end, and while we can imagine that everything he's gone through must have changed him in some way there's no textual evidence to support such claims.
At the beginning of THG Katniss calls him the person that knows her best. Perhaps he was, for a while, but as she goes through her arc there is a wider and wider divide between the person she started as and the person she becomes, and I'm not entirely convinced that he ever truly understood her, just as she didn't totally know herself.
When they first meet Gale basically accuses her of stealing, it takes them forever to actually trust each other enough to become friends. Their relationship starts contractually, a give and take, and the spirit of that never really changes.
He shows a lack of respect of her opinions if they don't align with his own. He tries to bring up the idea of having a family one day, and she immediately shuts him down telling him she doesn't want that. She wonders why he's bringing it up because there's never been anything romantic between them. Then later, in the arena, she admits that things have been different between them for the past six months or so, implying that he's been different. We later learn that he realized he felt jealous when other men paid attention to her.
He never tells her how he feels, but instead kisses her weeks after she returned home from a super traumatic experience telling her he HAD to do that. That kiss really bothers me, because he didn't ask first, so it feels a bit like a violation of her trust. Their kiss in District Two also really bothers me. She has not been in a good headspace and making out with a grieving depressed suicidal girl is just taking advantage, even if he does stop once he realizes she's out if it.
She tries to warn him about Snow when she returns from the Victory Tour, and later tries to warn him about the weapons and the Nut, and he refuses to take her seriously, with terrible consequences.
It feels a bit like he's holding Katniss emotionally hostage, if she refuses him he will end their friendship (or that seems to be Katniss's fear, that she'll lose him). Halfway through CF and at the end of MJ she expresses relief that he’s not there, first because he will think anything she does with Peeta will be seen as an act and therefore won't hurt him (which makes her feel guilty, because really she doesn't have romantic feelings for him) and later because of his actions in the war.
He isn’t evil, he's an asshole. By design.

I'm seeing all of these headlines from critics about how ridiculous FAST X as if they are just learning what the Fast and Furious films are. They are ridiculous. And? So? Your point being? Are you going to write that Looney Toons cartoons are silly?
22 years, 10 films, countless implausible moments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You're going to say the franchise is stupid because you have people driving through skyscrapers or parachuting with cars or even surfing on a car but you say nothing about how we're supposed to believe Paul Walker as an LAPD cop when no LAPD cop in the history of the force has ever looked like that?!
This is the real stretch of imagination.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FAST X. The X stands for X-TREME SPOILERS
THE GOOD -I like a bit of fan service and the franchise keeps doling out heaping helpings of it. We got Letty back, Han back, Owen Shaw, Deckard Shaw, Elena back (briefly), whoever the hell Lucas Black and Bow Wow played in TOKYO DRIFT, Hobbs back and now the gal - Gisele.
Their babies are no longer babies.
Tumblr media
At this pace I can't even feel bad that John Cena's Jakob died because we didn't see his body. For all we know he could have jumped out the car when it exploded! We see Han's body and he still returned from the dead so...I'm just saying don't count your dead characters before they hatch.
-I loved that they tied this story into Fast Five because that film was my entry into the Fast and Furious films so I remember that one distinctly enough that I could appreciate how they re-did scenes to add the idea that Dante was in their orbit then.
-Following THE SUICIDE SQUAD's lead and relegating Scott Eastwood to bit player. This feels like they were just trying to help him retain his SAG-AFTRA health insurance.
-The twist with Alan Ritchson's character. They intro him giving a wall of exposition about how the "cult with cars" win everyone over and then we see him won over and I think, "Exactly. As it should be." But no! Mans was luring Dom into a false sense of security. Dom was probably too blinded by that tan Ritchson was sporting for some reason.
Tumblr media
-Paul Walker's daughter Meadow having a small role. Wouldn't be la familia without her.
Tumblr media
-Jason Momoa was having so much fun and he certainly made for an entertaining villain. I'm all in for a villain who wears nail polish and space buns. And I liked how they actually used his photos from his BAYWATCH: HAWAII and STARGATE ATLANTIS years instead of photoshopping it.
Tumblr media
THE BAD -Momoa IMO didn't find a good balance between unhinged lunacy and camp. I wish he was able to blend the menacing aspects of the character into his character when he was being more flamboyant. I think an actor who pulled that balance off perfectly was Chris Pine in SMOKIN' ACES.
-I can turn my brain off, I want to be entertained. If I wanted to logic police these films I'd just tweet Neil DeGrasse Tyson and ask his opinion. That said, bad writing is bad writing and this film had some awful writing. The script was written by Justin Lin, Dan Mazeau (Wrath of Titans) and Zach Dean (The Tomorrow War). I like to think Justin Lin knew some parts of the script was absolute dog piss and quit because he didn't want to have to massage a performance out of his actors using those words.
Justin Lin when handing in the final draft to Universal.
Tumblr media
-The CGI was so bad! Regressively so. It was like they were using 2001 technology in some of the big scenes.
THE REST A cliffhanger? Editors exist for a reason. You're telling me I am going to have to sit through another 2 hours watching Letty, Cipher and Gisele on their sub adventure through Antarctica, Deckard saving his mum, Dante acting like he's on RuPaul's Drag Race, Roman with the weak jokes (Tyrese isn't as funny as he thinks he is), then a race to hurriedly find a way to give Brie Larson something substantive to do and because everyone comes back, we will see the return of Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell) and then shoehorn back in Rita Moreno to close out the film with another speech about family?

Branch: Troll Of The Wildglade
Chapter 12: He Lives In You
In Trolls Brotherhood AU, the brothers have to fight to sending all the trolls free from slavery. Dante Reyes dislike music around the village and stealing his fortune from him, Ivy and Rosiepuff believe that Clay is alive and he has new allies, Dante Reyes and his hunters trying to stop the people's protest of the trolls' freedom, while it's spread all the chaos it's have caused in the village.
Dante Reyes and his hunters screaming from the animals attack the village during the chaos, but they cleaned up all the mess and the disaster from being destroyed everything.
Elena Wallace: Reyes, stop all the madness! We're free all the trolls from slavery. Let's the trolls go now!
Dante Reyes: No! Never! We are so close!
John Dory: Hey, Reyes! Watch for bees!
He looked at the bees stared at them, the bees chasing him, his hunters, and the rest of aristocrats as they screaming into the stadium and the hunters were stung by them. Meanwhile Alder prayed to God for teaching Dante Reyes and his hunters a lesson for hunting trolls. Brandy laying down on the bed, as she groaned in pain. Alder looked at her, he writes down a letter to him. She struggled in her sleep. Ivy felt a breeze. Opening her eyes, she gasped when she finds herself in flower meadow. There were flowers of all types and colors, like a rainbow. She walked forward and caught a glimpse of some blue roses. She recalled these flowers when she gave to her husband as their anniversary gifts and when she had them in a bouquet for their wedding. She turned to her right and saw her husband.
Ivy: Branch, John, Spruce, Clay, Floyd, You've returned! (She gasped as the stranger smiled lovingly at her)
Spirit Thorn: Ivy? Is that you?
Ivy: Thorn? It's good to see you again after 20 years. (She ran toward him, she gave him a hug, sobbing, he gasped, he smiled at her, he hugged her tightly, not wanting to let her go.)
Spirit Thorn: You're here! You're actually here! (Breakers a hug, he whipped her tears off her face, his lips against hers in a soft kiss, something he had been yearning to do for years. He pulled back shortly after, his lips still tingling from their kiss. Her eyes darted all over his face, his body, taking in every detail about his. Alder entered and he is worried about Ivy's daughter in law is in labor, he gasped and saw Thorn as a spirit.
Alder: Ivy, I heard about Clay is out there, and...Thorn?
He smiled at them, his hands on her chest, his green eyes looking up at her with the same love she had known.
Ivy: (whispered) I've missed you, Thorn.
Spirit Thorn: I have missed you too, my love.
Alder: How...
Spirit Thorn: My sons and their new friends fight against the Talons Bounty Troll Hunters by sending the trolls free from slavery. That's will Dante Reyes, his hunters and the aristocrats a lesson for hunting them for their harm. Since I died from my injuries, I know, Alder, my love. I'm sorry for leaving the responsibility of raising John, Spruce, Floyd and Branch, you raised them alone but I am a spirit, I see Clay, I lives in them and it's was my final battle against Hernan Reyes and his hunters, and the fire cause explosion in the forest, I died from my injuries, they grown up as the warriors, the Maximals warriors guided Clay, they, Clay, Viva and their friends saved them from Reyes and his hunters. I watched over you, John, Spruce, Floyd, Branch and everyone else the whole time. I see Clay's alive and Rosiepuff helped along as well. You have done a good job raising our sons.
Ivy: I'm know, Thorn, Branch has grown up fine, John, Floyd, they are helping him to fight against the Talons Bounty Troll Hunters, Spruce has a wife named Brandy and has 11 children, she is in labor and she giving birth to your grandchild, Clay is alive and he is out there.
Alder: We have to find them, (Thorn praying for them, he is in their hearts, he smiled at him.) Thorn? You're lives in us all, I'm missed you after 20 years. Your son were taken from us, Clay is alive and he and his friends Viva and the rest of humans save them. The Maximals are the ancient warriors.
Spirit Thorn: Branch, John, Spruce, Clay, Floyd fight against him and his hunters with their humans allies. They are adults. They can take of themselves. I visited them just as I am doing with you too now. They're healthy and they're friends, Branch will make Poppy smile and as the symbol of true love, it's time for me to return now. They will always return home, they loves his home and they loves me. They're fighting to defeat him and his hunters and send all the trolls free from slavery. Remember, Ivy, you are never alone no matter what. God want to help us all to be freedom from threat and slavery.
Spirit Thorn: I love you. Brandy and my grandchildren to say hi to me. (He managed to say and a smile appeared on her lips.)
Ivy: I love you, too, and you promise me, you're always be here, watching us all from above. (One of his hands came where her heart was and her smile grew when she felt it beating beneath her palm.) I love you. (Tears filling her eyes.)
Spirit Thorn: (whispered) I love you (brushing her lips against him in one last kiss, a single tear rolling down her cheek at the thought of letting her go. She pulled back and looked down at him, both their eyes regretful. It wasn't easy to watch him leave once again and their hearts ached with the thought of having him by her side again, he got on Phoenix and as they walked, she closed her eyes and silent tears rolled down her cheeks.
Ivy awoke with a start and sat up abruptly, panting, her heart pounding fast and loud into her ears. She took a deep breath, they ran to help them to send the trolls free from slavery.
Ivy: Boys, if you're okay, know that we're waiting for you four expert Clay and I'm know that each and every one of us loves you all. Please come home safely.
Meanwhile back to the village, Dante, William, Arthur, Victoria and Ignacio checking on the slave trolls, they set up for the arena, David and the soldiers put their armors on in the changing room. The brothers and their allies walked to the arena. Dante looked at them, they're angry stare at him.
Alpha Sapphire Soldiers #1: Let the trolls go now, or die!
Dante Reyes: No, not this time!
Spruce: Watch for lions! (The lions and lionesses came to the tournament, he and his hunters screaming in horror and they closed the doors, the lions and the lionesses digging the whole grounds, the slave trolls looked up at them as they heard he and the hunters screaming and they laughing at them, David got out of the room, he saw a man running away from the lions and the lionesses, a lioness chasing him as he screamed and the brothers laughed at them.)
Branch: (smirk) I feel like painting...you two. (They flipped the paint on them splattering blue and red paint all over the soldiers, the brothers laughed at them from up to the top.)
Dante Reyes: (looking up at the top and he got angry stare at them) This means war!
Victoria Kord: I agree with you!
Poppy ran into the church, she gasped and she found Dr. Ferrier dead in the church, William laughed evilly with his knife, he wearing Spring Bonnie suit with armors on in, Cady walked and called her father, they arrived at church, he grabbed her and put her in a cage, he took off his mask, he ran into to the church's hallways. Cady saw her father found dead, she gasped and sobbing as she mourning her father. Abacus saw Father Julius walked in the room. Damian and Janis comfort her, and the brothers saw Dante and his hunters, they ran into the room, Hank and his gangs used the butterfly nets and they caught them, Branch crawling and jumped onto table, he used his bow and arrow, by shot Hank's right feet.
Hank: YEOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!
Max: (they looked at him, he ran out of the room. He growled at them as Carl screaming out of the room, Shaw grabbed him, Elena and Noah tackled him on the floor, they use handcuffs and arrested him and take him to the police.) What is that thing?
Hank: How's could you little monster?
William Afton: (looked at him and see Branch is on the table. Father Julius gasped, while he growled at him) How's did you get here? I don't want you scared people, all the creatures cause chaos to village.
Branch: Let's the trolls go now!
William Afton: I don't want all the trolls free from slavery, I will crush you! (He put his mask on, he
Branch ran into cage, he saw Poppy, they saw Victoria, David and the hunters walked to the church, she looked angry at them. Branch looked at the hunters, Dante grabbed him and he opened the cages, put him in the cage and closed it, he walked out of the room. He saw Poppy sobbing, and she heard his father's voice.
Spirit Thorn: Branch, it's time for your destiny.
Branch: Yes, I will!
Poppy: I felt bad for you and the rest of the clan. Don't you get it! I am sorry for everything!
Branch: Poppy, let's me explain, we'll end the slavery right now!
Poppy: Yes! I heard you about this, I love Branch! I ever met you! (Viva and the brothers, and the rest of the villagers gasped at them)
Branch: (smiled lovingly at her) I love you too, Poppy.
They shared their first kisses, her gray self changed back to flamgo pink skin, dark pink hair and her eyes is opened.
Spirit Thorn: Branch, John, Spruce, Clay, Floyd, you five will fight against the Talons Bounty Troll Hunters, it's time Branch. (He proudly magnificently and decided to step down and his leadership to Branch.) My son, you are now the new leader of Glade Clan after our family ancestors passed down to every generations.
Branch and Poppy escape from the cage, and free his brothers and Viva from the cage, they got out from the church, Father Julius looked down, John punched him in the face and he passed out on the floor. Branch rallying all the trolls and the people of the village are ready to fight against the Talons Bounty Troll Hunters.
Branch: For the whole colonies!
The Wildglade Clans: For the whole colonies!
The villagers: For the whole colonies!
Alpha Sapphire soldiers: For the whole colonies!
The elements are powerful, Earth, Fire, Air, Water, Ice, Lightning, Technology, Music, Light Magic, Lava, Metal and the other elements came all together to fight against the Talons Bounty Troll Hunters and defending the whole colonies and the world. The hunters gasped, Dante got angry at the villagers.
Dante Reyes: What! HOW!
William Afton: I hope enough for all the creatures!
Victoria Kord: We don't let them to win!
The trolls are all free and prepared for the battle against them, the hunters gasped and they scream from them.
Viva: All, Trolls! For freedom! (All the trolls battles cry)
The elemental warriors arrived in the village, Noah and the other soldiers are fighting against the Talons Bounty Troll Hunters. The final battle began with their battle cry.
Spirit Thorn: Branch, John, Spruce, Clay, Floyd, to fight for freedom and return home.
John Dory: Daddy?
Spruce: Pop!
Clay: Dad!
Floyd! Dad!
Branch: Father!
Dante Reyes: What's going on over there?
William Afton: What the hell is he!
The hunters looked at the warriors used their elemental powers against them, they groaning in pain, Cheetor, and the Maximals destroyed the Talons headquarters.
Dante Reyes: Stop destroying my fortune!
Victoria Kord: I can't believe! This is happening!
Spirit Thorn blowing the hunters around the village, he smiled at them, David used him spear, Floyd used his sword and combined with the elemental powers against him and knocked him down. Spruce throw his ax at Afton's armors, Cady used her knife and his chest, he groaning in his defeat, they arrested the hunters, Dante looks at Edgin and his soldiers fired with bows and arrows at him and his hunters. John threw bombs at Arthur and his partners as they scream and cover their eyes. The village policemen arrested them for their crimes.
John Dory: God want to send all the trolls free!
Spruce: They're no longer slave trolls no more!
Clay: We're not give up on the fight against the Talons Bounty Troll Hunters!
Floyd: Rebellion Alliance Never Quit!
Branch: Yes, We will fight Reyes and his hunters for ruling the whole village, home and the colonies of his tyranny.
Spirit Thorn: John, you are the first oldest son of Thorn, Captain of the Glade Clan, Spruce, you are the second older son, the blacksmith of Glade Clan, Clay, you are the third and middle son of Thorn, you are a brave, kind and friendly to the humans kind, and a learner, Floyd, you are the fourth son of Thorn and a swordsmen of the Glade Clan and with all the elements came out from the lands, and finally Branch, you are the fifth and youngest son of Thorn and the new great leader of the Glade Clan. You boys must to fighting against the Talons Bounty Troll Hunters, Alder always taught all of you. I love all of you, boys and never, ever give up.
The brothers and the sisters: Now!

Hi, I have a question about the spardatober event. It's just for DMC Character x reader?
In case that it's not, I'd love one of Vergil x Lady that has the dialogue "What are you reading?", Scenario "Exploring a graveyard" and Promp "Big famyli dinner" please.
This combo has a great potential. I love it!
Edit: This is me after finishing it. This has got to be one of the most daring, and interesting things I've written so far.
Tumblr media
The graveyard is properly silent. There's not a proverbial soul around.
Except for a lonely figure of a woman walking among the crooked gravestones. She stopped and looked around, the lapels of her long coat swirling around her with a strong gust of wind. She seemed impatient. The woman made another two steps forward when suddenly jolted in surprise.
"Motherfu- The hell are you doing here?!"
He stood there motionless and propped up against a crypt. His long dark coat made him blend with his surroundings so perfectly that Lady had no chance of seeing him from a distance.
Vergil didn't comment on her outburst, in fact, he didn't even look up from the book he was reading. "Waiting for you, obviously. We were supposed to meet there together remember?"
Lady's brow twitched in agitation at his lack of insight. "Of course I do, that's not what I meant! What are you looming here like a ghost?!"
Vergil finally looked at her, both eyebrows rising in question as if talking to an ignorant child.
"Oh, well, I'm interested in how it continues." Vergil gestured to the book he was holding.
Lady growled in frustration and pinched the bridge of her nose. Not even five minutes into this mission and she's already losing her nerve. She knew this would be a disaster when Dante notified her an hour ago about a 'slight change of plans'. She wasn't too excited about it since just like everybody else in the dmc crew, Lady had no idea how to interact with or act around Vergil. Neither they had any desire to.
"Are we going?" Vergil fixed her with an icy unmoving stare.
"Ugh, yes. Let's go."
-
"So what's the scoop?" Lady prompted while she and her demonic companion walked amongst the gravestones. The place was as deathly silent as ever, with only gravel and leaves crunching under their shoes to keep them company. The place was creepy enough already, so she'd decided that talking to Vergil was still better than silence.
"There are reports of an unusual phenomena in the graveyard. Particularly in the area of an old mausoleum."
"Such as?"
"The last people to visit this site described strange shadows moving, one elderly woman said when she visited her husband's grave, a black ooze started to pour out of his coffin. Later when the graveyard's keeper checked the grave, there was nothing in there. What do you think could be the cause of that?"
"Senile dementia?"
To her surprise, Vergil let out a small chuckle "Perhaps, or something more sinister."
They have scouted the ash meadow, then the gravestones closer to the gate. These were the latest additions to the graveyard. Further into the graveyard were much older graves, growing into intricately decorated crypts. These were burial sites of the oldest and often prestigious families. Some of their ancestors were still among the living, most long forgotten. So far nothing, Vergil tried to discern some demonic presence but accept the faint whisper in the back of his mind, there was nothing worth mentioning.
Lady sat on one of the stone benches, clearly frustrated.
"I'm starting to think Dante was pulling our leg."
Vergil watched her. He had no idea how to talk to any of Dante's friends. If it were up to him, he'd go to this place alone. If not for the job then for the peace and quiet the place provided. He sat down next to her, more calmly and quietly while fixing his coat.
Lady watched him for a while without saying a word. Her eyes landed on the book in Vergil's hand.
"What was the book you were reading, anyway?"
"Death and Gravestone symbolism, by Delia Prachi."
"Of course."
"It's quite interesting. Did you know that various symbols on the graves reveal information about the deceased?"
"Fascinating," Lady remarked sarcastically.
"For example," Vergil continued, pointedly ignoring her tone, "if there's an eagle on the gravestone, it means that the person was a civil war soldier, ivy represented friendship, and a vacant chair symbolized the death of a child..."
"Hm." Lady made a noncommital hum and checked her phone, it started to get dark soon, and they still hadn't made any progress, not to mention her effort at breaking the awkward silence worked way too perfectly and now Vergil won't shut up about some stupid book.
At that moment, a movement in the corner of her sight caught her attention. She followed it, noticing something akin to a shadow moving across the gravestones.
"Did you see that?"
Vergil followed her line of sight, "I'm afraid not."
As in a trance, Lady lifted from the bench and followed the strange shadow, with Vergil tailing after her. He put a hand on Yamato's hilt, prepared for any danger coming their way.
As they kept walking the graves became more desolate, the tombstones crooked and bent like teeth of some ancient monster. Vergil looked ahead at the stone buildings. They must be entering the crypt area.
It had a fountain in the middle filled with murky water. A dark, foreboding statue of an angel with its wings folded and curved all around it. Its face was covered in cloak as was the rest of its body. It held a metal lantern raised as if it tried to illuminate the path for wayward souls to find their final rest. The angel of death.
The moment Lady a Vergil stepped amongst the crypts, a heavy and suffocating sadness surrounded them like a dark cloak. It made even Vergil stop in his tracks.
"Wha-"
Whatever question Lady had, it died on her tongue. A bead of cold sweat ran down her face.
A grief like she never felt before had encompassed her completely. It clogged up her throat and turned her legs into lead. When was the last time she felt this hopeless? This miserable?
Images of a graveyard not unlike this one had entered her mind. A freshly dug grave, a coffin with a young woman inside, and a little girl standing above it. The girl couldn't see for all the tears in her eyes. A man's hand curled around her shoulders like a venomous snake.
You're next.
With a tearful gasp, Lady collapsed on the edge of a fountain. Hunched over, she saw her reflection on the water's surface. She's still that little tear-stricken girl she was years ago.
You've been a bad girl Mary.
It's time for a good spanking.
Lady buried her face in her hands, fighting desperately the pain. She was so overtaken by it she completely forgot about Vergil still standing there. However, he paid her no mind either.
His hand instinctively clutched Yamato, more out of the need for reassurance than immediate danger. He was no stranger to pain. In fact, he had a very intimate knowledge of it. However, such feelings usually stemmed from a certain source, they did not just randomly resurface at the most inconvenient times. Which only cemented his suspicion that there was something unnatural in this place. Despite these revelations, he could not bring himself to do anything. Neither fled or fought. He could just stand there hopelessly, being slowly consumed by waves and waves of misery.
His gaze landed on the endless rows of tombstones. How many wayward souls reside in there? Most of them are eroded by ravages of time, to the point no one can make the name of a person on the tombstone, but that's how it always ends isn't it? We may be mourned by a generation or two, but then we are forgotten, discarded. A mere speck in the sands of time swept away.
How many will mourn his passing, if any? Perhaps they rejoice, that the cursed son of the Sparda family is dead at least. Many wished his death, after all, and what about his family? He brings nothing but misery and pain to them anyway...they're better off without him.
Vergil was so deep in his gloomy thoughts he almost hadn't noticed the swift change in his surroundings. Almost. If his senses weren't so keen after a lifetime of fighting for his life in both this realm and another, he wouldn't notice the black shapes rising from the broken headstones and crypts.
"Lady."
No answer.
"Lady," Vergil called for her again, with more urgency as he saw the shadows moving towards her.
"Mary!" That finally caught her attention. Just as the black wraiths reached out with their inky talons, Lady jumped away from the fountain, grabbing her firearms.
"What are these things?"
"They don't seem hostile."
"No, but I am!"
Before Vergil has a chance to react, Lady blasts several bullets into the shadowy creatures. The bullets pass through them with a slight tremble of air. Vergil lets out silent curse as he jumps out of the way of the shadowy limbs trying to catch him.
It seemed that the shadows only dissipated with the slice of his sword. However, the shadows kept multiplying and not even Vergil's enhanced reflexes could keep up forever.
He learned the hard way why they were avoiding the shadows' touch when one misty limb curled around his throat from behind. A sharp stab of coldness ran down his spine, his heart almost stopped beating, and he couldn't move a muscle.
If it wasn't for a few well-aimed bullets he would probably turn into a husk.
"You okay?" Lady asked him with surprising concern.
Vegil didn't answer, his mind still on the brief encounter with the shadow. He had never been this paralyzed with fear, and he met many dangerous things in his life. This fear was almost unnatural, artificial.
"Don't let these things touch you." He growled through gritted teeth.
"Noted." Lady gave him a sarcastic smirk.
With the ever-increasing number of shadows and no plan on how to defeat them, Lady suggested a temporary retreat. They darted between the graves in hopes of dissuading the shadows, until they ended up hiding behind one of the family-sized gravestones, with twin tombstones serving as a morbid seating of sorts.
"Any plans?" Lady asked, breathing ragged from endless running.
"I may have heard about these creatures." Vergil's gaze locked into the distance, deep in thought.
"And? Vegil if you haven't noticed this isn't a tea party!!"
"I'm trying!" He hissed. He sifted through mental catalog of every demon he encountered in his lifetime, and albeit the number was large, there was a not-so-small memory gap from the times he served as a puppet for his dreadful master.
"These things..." Vergil continued, pushing down memories from days long gone. "...are called Sadness...Vestigial Sadness. They are born from the remaining energy of souls that haven't left this plane in peace."
"So, a ghost?"
"No, Vestigial Sadness is most definitely a demon. However, despite being weak, their incorporeal forms make them quite difficult to get rid of."
"Great, and how do we-"
A shadow passed through the tombstone right between them, prompting them to bolt out of the grave and keep running.
"There's gotta be some recordings on these things." Lady huffed. "Or maybe details about that person on the tombstone."
She almost wished she hadn't said the last part when Vergil pulled out the copy of Death and Gravestone symbolism with the most annoying smirk.
Several moments later they were standing in front of an old, decaying crypt. The decorative ornaments and shapes were long ground by sands of time, but you could still distinguish some shapes and faint outlines of names carved into stone.
"Are you sure this is the place?" Lady turned to Vergil who was still nose deep in the book.
"There's faint outline of broken chain. It says there it symbolizes broken family bonds. It could also mean premature death..."
"Uh, Vergil? We have company." Lady nodded her head towards quickly approaching shadows.
Without missing the beat, Vergil sliced the massive lock that held the crypt open and barged the door open. They shut the doors behind them the moment demons shadowy limbs were hairs width away from their faces.
Vergil watched as Lady pulled out can and sprayed the crypt door.
"What is this?"
"Demon repellent, pioneered by yours truly."
"It smells revoltingly."
"That means it's working."
Their conversation was cut by piercing wail that rattled them to the bone.
"Ugh, yep. It's really working." Lady winced with hands over her ears.
"Let's get into work."
With single flashlight illuminating the crypt and horrifying wails of the demons outside, the place became it's own purgatory. Lady frantically looked at every tomb, without really knowing what she's looking for. Once they reached the end of the crypt, Lady pointed the light at the wall in hopes they'll find some answers there.
"Wait. There's something on the wall." Vergil stepped closer to the wall and removed decades of webs and dust. Then, his fingers followed the path of letters since his eyes could not.
"Fate be changed...look inside...hm...there's something else written but I can't..."
"Here, let me." Lady handed Vergil the flashlight which he obediently held pointed at the sign.
"Pride...mend...mend the bond torn by pride."
"Well I think we found our sources of sadness," Vergil directed the cone of pale light on the two graves placed on each side of the sign on the wall.
As if on cue, another terryfing howl resonated through the stony chamber.
"Vergil, that repellent won't hold forever."
"Figured."
Without further discussion, the two of them turned to their respective coffin.
"These are suprisingly well kept," Lady prompted as she wiped the plaque of her tomb. "Morris Coleman, born 1837, died 1855. That's pretty young."
"This one's Simon Coleman, born the same year, died just as well 1855."
"So, brothers, maybe even twins. They died the same year. What do you think was the cause?"
"Perhaps a war, or an illness."
"Yeah but what about that writing on the wall?"
Vergil frowned. 'Torn by pride...'
"Vergil...what if-"
"Don't say it."
"Something happened between those two?"
Her only answer was silence.
Lady cleared her throat. "Anyway, we have some clues, what now?"
"The signs says look inside."
"Ugh don't tell me we're really gonna open these coffins?!"
"The smell won't be as bad as that of your repellent." Vergil spat.
With much cursing on Lady's part, they pride open the first coffin. They were welcome by decades worth of dank putrid smell. Even with hand covering her mouth, Lady still couldn't hold back few coughs. Meanwhile Vergil explored the coffin until he pulled out a silver signet ring with large emerald.
"Vergil look out!!"
He barely dodged a shadowy claws slicing through the air.
"Seems one of them got in." Vergil quipped as he got in fighting stance, yamato in hand. "Open the other coffin while I get rid off this thing," and without another word he charged at the wraith.
With much disgust and muscle strain, Lady pried open the lid of the coffin. This time, she didn't mind the smell since there were other things on her mind, like demons filling the crypt. She ransacked the bones and remains of clothing until she pulled out a ring similar to the other one, accept this one was golden.
She held out both rings in her hand and inspected them closely.
'Mend the bond torn by pride...'
'Mend the bond torn by pride...'
"Vergil! I think I came up with something, but you'll have to keep the wraiths busy."
Vergil slices the Saddness in two with powerful swing of his sword and turned to her.
"Lead the way."
-
Once more, Lady found herself running through the rows of tombstones, this time in another direction. Once this is over I'm visiting mum once a year max. She thought to herself. I place flowers on her grave and walk out.
She finally reached her destination. After the experiences in the crypt, the sight of weeping angel of death was almost welcoming. Her boots squelched as she threaded the murky water of the fountain. Lady had to climb into angel's embrace to get good look at the lantern it wielded. To her relief, there were waxy remnants of a candle.
She placed the two rings inside next to the unlit candle and starting fishing in her pockets for lighter. She remembered stealing one from Nico when her smoking inside the van got on her nerves, then forgot to return it.
She heard a painful snarl as Vergil fought his way throguh the respawning hordes of Vestidigal Sadness, he was losing his strenght, which was obvious by the fact the swarmed and curled around him like nightmarish snakes.
Lady pulled out the lighter at last and with trembling fingers started igiting the lighter, which was harder than usual considering her trembling fingers. She heard another hiss of pain coming from the cumulus of shadows and shuddered. One of these things just barely brushed her and it was like meeting with death, she can't imagine what it was like to be practically swimming in them.
'C'mon, c'mon!!'
Strike. Ignition. And finally, flame.
Lady stared into lantern watching the tiny flame flicker and die...
Then, the lantern bursted with eerie blueish light that almost blinded her, almost pulsing with its own heartbeat. The lantern glowed more brigtly by second. So bright, Lady had to hid her face in the stony drapes of the statues cloak.
Since Lady was too blinded by the light from the lantern, she was oblivious to her surroundings. Vergil, however, saw how with every pulse from the lantern the Sadness' disintegrated with mournful wail. Their deathly cold touch, draining his strenght, dissipated and he was once again standing alone in the middle of a graveyard bathed in etereal light.
And above the fountain, as if rising from the long-dead candle, were two whisps of smoke twirling in unison.
Together...at last...
If anyone asked Vergil he would deny the small smile finding its way to his lips.
-
Vergil and Lady arrived in Devil May Cry sometime after midnight. They haven't spoken for the entire ride home, both still trying to make sense of the last four hours.
When they arrived, Dante was already waiting for them, almost falling asleep from his place behing the desk.
"Y'know if you planned the sleepover on the graveyard I could at least give you some popcorn."
"Shut up," Lady gritted through her clenched teeth.
"Whoa, no need to bitch out at me. Get your ass in the shower before you shoot someone." Not phased by her grumpiness in the least Dante patted Lady on the shoulder as she passed him to head upstairs.
Then he turned to Vergil, smile still plastered on his face even if it faltered at Vergils glare. At that moment, Vergil had chance to study his brother's face in proper. Every wrinkle, every greying hair, the tiredness in his eyes. The image of cruffy, shaggy child who could not keep their shirt fixed flashed through his mind.
It's true they say you get sentimental with age. Vergil mused to himself.
Not giving himself or Dante choice to think about it further, Vergil stepped towards his brother, who defensively jerked back, and wrapped his arms around him.
It's hard to say who was more scared at the moment.
Vergil kept his arms in place, not really knowing where to put them or what to do next, he just boxed Dante, who still stood there frozen in shock, in place. Until Dante slowly, carefully enveloped his arms around hi brother as well. The moment couldn't last more than few seconds, but for the two brothers it felt like hours. When Vergil untangled himself from Dante's arms, he pressed something into Dante's hand and hissed, "Tell someone about this and you're dead." Then walked past him towards the stairs.
Dante, still pretty much schocked, just chuckled.
"Wait, Verge."
Vergil stopped, but did not turn around.
"Nero and uh, Kyrie stopped by for dinner and brought some caseroles. There's still some food left. Say, how about we'll have a midnight snack."
"It's 2 am."
"Then early breakfeast."
Vergil only then realized he haven't eaten since that toast he burned in the morning and conceded. Since Lady was in no state to drive home she joined them in the kitchen. Clacking of cutlery and banging of casserole woke up Nero and Kyrie who desided to spend the night at Dmc.
'How many rooms this place have?' Vergil asked in annoyance as Nero plopped next to him with full plate, trying his hardest to ignore Vergils presence. Vergil looked at his brother for help, but all he got was a thumbs-up. Ugh. It's not as if he has something against his...against Nero, but he can hardly interact with someone outside a swordfight. Combined with the complicated relationship he has with Nero, Vergil avoided interactions with him like plague.
He looked at his plate. Some pasta with creamy sauce and tomatoes. He collected some on his fort and brought it to his mouth.
"This is...good."
"You like it?"
He raised his head at the voice. Nero peered at him from his spot at the bench, hair tousled from sleep.
"Ah, yes. It's very...good." Vergil internally winced. He's so bad at this.
"Kyrie's beef pasta bake is to die for!" Dante grinned at him from his spot behind the table, face full of sauce. "Maybe we'll make a cook out of you yet."
"And bother me anytime you get hungry? i don't think so."
At that, he heard the girl quitly giggle.
Vergil pout another mouthful of pasta in his mouth, deep in thought. He had done things in his life that would be presumtuous to apologize for. Things that he can't take back or fix. People in this room don't have to like him.
He looked at Dante.
But he'll be damned if he left this world with a lifelong grudge being the only thing that follows him to grave for one person that truly cares about him.
