I technically started this something like 15 years ago, but the majority of the work I've done on it has happened in the last 4 years. It's a Heaven and Earth Designs pattern and I've gone back and forth on how much I like the pattern.

Making some progress on my current piece, September 2023. This is 22 pixels per inch, because I am very foolish when it comes to planning these things and I apparently enjoy giving myself eyestrain. If you look really closely, you can see some white stitching on the left-hand side of the rock, but it doesn’t show up great in this photo.

the original image has the whole giant area around the boulder in light gray, differentiated from the white of the rest of the image. On the one hand, giant flat areas tend to go quickly. On the other hand, the area in question is approximately 22,000 px in total. Even if, like, 1/4 to 1/3 of it is already filled with the rock, that’s still quite a few THOUSAND stitches of just plain gray nothing on really, really tiny squares… I both want to and don’t want to. Might start by just outlining the rock in the light gray and see how that looks before deciding whether or not to commit to the whole thing. (The text part will probably go by in no time.)

Dream stitch update 5

😍 Omg, he looks so good!! 😍 He consists of sixteen different colours, I don't see it while I'm stitching him, I'm usually 'shrimping' when I stitch and only focus on the shade I'm on. But, when I stand up and look at him from a distance? Striking. 🤌

That's all fine and great. But --

...I'm working on his hair....

I will fully admit that months ago, when I started this, I messed up and put off fixing it until now.

Why now? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Lazy? Sure. Lazy. Impatient, probably, too. I was definitely distracted at the point of the mess up, it's no one's fault but my own.

I'm still following my pattern and giving it some freestyle, too. There is some other areas that I need to fix, also.

✨️✨️✨️ Not pointing them out, my self-esteem sucks right now. ✨️✨️✨️

Cool? Cool.

I'm sure he will look fine in the end. No point crying over it now, what's done is done.

Worked on my cross stitch project today. I literally just worked in one color: the blue that takes up almost all of Vaporeon. Except for some bits I've left open for a light gray, some spots of a darker gray and then a different blue that will appear in the fins.
