Why is it that almost every major franchise has the same quintet of branches to it?
We have the source material: (HP books, LOTR books, Lucasian characters, GoT books.)
We have the excellent adaptations: (HP movies, LOTR movies, Original trilogy, first half of the GoT show.)
The disappointing but not necessarily terrible spin-off or continuation: (Fantastic Beasts, The Unexpected Journey, Sequel Trilogy, second half of GoT show)
The ugly step-child: (Cursed Child, the rest of the Hobbit trilogy, Prequel Trilogy, cancelled GoT spin-off.)
The niche things the fandom loves: (A Very Potter Musical, The Silmarillion and other stories published by Christopher Tolkein, Star Wars video games, books, and Clone Wars show, the actual GoT books.)
And by the looks of it, we may be getting a sixth category, the well-received revival: (Not yet for JK, maybe the new LOTR show, The Mandalorian, I actually think GoT is toast for a while.)

I Don’t Tolerate TERFS, No Matter Who They Are
When I was in first grade, J.K Rowling inspired me to create worlds and characters of my own after reading the Harry Potter series. I have read the series eight times since then and have watched every movie at least twenty times by now. I buy the screenplays for the Fantastic Beasts movies and own the Hogwarts textbooks she released. There is an entire shelf in my library dedicated to her work, and it was one of my proudest possessions. My entire view on magic was shaped by J.K Rowling, and I still remember turning a walking stick into a broom by twisting tape into fake twigs to put on the end for two hours while my mom read me The Prisoner of Azkaban. I have banners of each of the Hogwarts houses in my room and wear a Deathly Hallows ring every day. I have for the past two years now.
I became an author because of many different stories that affected my life, one of the most prominent being the Harry Potter series and all related works. I became an author because the world that J.K Rowling created inspired me and opened my eyes to a whole other form of imagination that I, until I read those books, didn’t realize I possessed. I became an author because I wanted to be just like J.K Rowling. I dreamed that one day, once I was published, she might even notice my work and think it was good. That she might say she liked it. Everything I’ve written was inspired by her, and the candle that her work gave me.
I ignored previous things said by J.K Rowing in an attempt to keep my bubble of security unharmed, and the image of my idol untarnished, but I can’t ignore the fact that she is not someone I want to be anymore.
I do not accept TERFS in any form, no matter how much they’ve done for me, or how much I wish that they were better people. I doubt that I’m alone when I say that I do not look up to, or aspire to be J.K Rowling any longer. I want to be better.
I want everyone to know that this blog is a safe space and that if you don’t support people and their identities then you can get the Hell off of it because you’re not welcome here. I don’t care if I lose followers for this, because if you believe that trans men and women are somehow less than, then you are not someone that I want following me. You aren’t an ally if you only support part of the acronym, and you’re a terrible member of the community if you try to exclude your fellow members.
J.K Rowling has let me down today, along with millions of other people. I feel like a defining part of my childhood has been cut out of me, but I can’t stay blind any longer. J. K Rowling is not a good person.
