PART III

River's path

The sun rose slowly over the steel towers of Night City, casting its first rays of light onto the bustling streets.

River woke up early in his small apartment in Heywood. Despite the noisy city that never slept, his home was a haven of tranquility. He dressed in comfortable clothes, a worn-out t-shirt, and jeans, before heading to the small kitchen.

As he prepared a strong cup of coffee, the memories of that fateful day returned like an echo in his mind. The image of his parents, murdered before him and his sister, never faded. The responsibility of taking care of Josh, his sister, and her three children had been a burden that River had carried for years.

River took a moment to remember his family, reflecting on how the tragedy had changed their lives. Then, he shook his head, trying to push away those painful thoughts. Because even though his past was filled with shadows, he still had a future ahead of him and the determination to protect his family at all costs.

The day following Arachnid's capture by Ren, River is in his office at the Heywood precinct. The atmosphere in the office is tense, and news of Arachnid's capture has spread throughout the police department.

As he entered the police station, he was met with the same familiar faces he encountered every day. Though River rarely felt at ease, he had never quite warmed up to the NCPD. That's why he had trained as a private detective, even though he worked for the police.

"Good morning, River," greeted the receptionist, as she did every day, with a flirtatious tone.

River had all the female officers more than a little enamored, and he knew it. His all-organic physique, except for the cybernetic scars earned during his detective adventures, made him one of the most attractive men in Night City. River had had a few encounters with some female colleagues, but they were all one-night stands. After his last serious relationship, he couldn't see himself getting into anything long-term. He had neither the time nor the desire for it.

"Good and chilly morning, Natalie. What job do we have today?"

"All I know is that Watson is on fire today, and your partner in crime, Hans, is on vacation, so it's your lucky day," she explains, adjusting her blouse to leave nothing to the imagination for River. "I always ask you, River, but what are you up to tonight?" She asks, with excitement in her more-than-fake cybernetic eyes.

"Work, Natalie, you know that," he winks, aware of the power he holds over women, even though he's as soft as a piece of bread afterward.

River approaches his partner for the upcoming weeks, none other than Ren's lifelong friend, Watson.

"It seems we're partners these days, chum. I've heard you had quite the night yesterday?" River inquires with a keen eye, grabbing one of the best donuts from the oldest bakery in Heywood that still made sourdough pastries.

"Haven't you heard the news? Ren caught Arachnid last night."

River nods but doesn't seem too excited about the news.

"Ren, who's that? Another second-rate netrunner?"

Watson nods, explaining, "No, she's a bounty hunter. She's gaining a reputation in the city for her ability to catch fugitives. It seems she's been competing with you, River."

River furrows his brow; he's not used to sharing his territory with some bounty hunters. The news that Ren has been hunting the same fugitives as him doesn't sit well.

"Well, we'll see how good she is. I don't mind a little competition."

Watson nods, but he can feel the tension in the air.

The interrogation room at Heywood precinct was immersed in tense silence as River, Watson, and other officers witnessed Arachnid's questioning. Arachnid was about to speak, but before he could, a shot rang out in the room, hitting him and sending his body backwards.

Chaos and confusion erupted as everyone in the room reacted to the attack. River and Watson hurried to ensure that Arachnid received immediate medical attention. The identity of the shooter remained a mystery.

After an exhaustive search, River and Watson failed to find the shooter. Watson, with a furrowed brow, approaches River.

"River, we can't let the shooter get away with this. But we don't have solid leads to catch them."

River nods, concerned about the shooter's impunity.

Watson suggests the idea of working with Ren, citing her effectiveness as a bounty hunter and mentioning her progress in the investigation. However, River is not convinced. He has reservations about the bounty hunter and prefers to handle the situation on his own.

"I'm not sure I want to work with that bounty hunter friend of yours. I have my own methods for solving this case."

Watson nods, understanding River's position.

"Alright, River, if you'd rather go your own way, I respect that. But don't forget that Ren has already made progress in the investigation and could be our best chance to get to the shooter."

River is determined to follow his instincts and not rely on Ren. He begins to search for clues on his own, investigating the crime scene and gathering any evidence he can find.

Author's note: yeah, enemies to lover kinda story, just my favourite.

for the nth time, we are getting shiwang agenda from official capacity again!

three-body community's weibo account just released these amazing character posters for the 1 year anniversary. i absolutely love the details of everything, and of course the very very very strong shiwang agenda:

wang miao and shi qiang's posters are next to each other

there's a saying "自古红蓝出CP/since ancient times, red and blue are colors for a couple" among chinese shippers, and shiwang posters are exactly matching red and blue. general chang's blue doesn't really count because it's a much darker shade, and obviously a reference to ADC.

shiwang posters are the only 2 posters with the same top pattern referring to the count down. i love the detail that there's border around shi qiang's count down for obvious reasons. it's a slight pity that 1018:44:00 is not used here, but that might make the shiwang agenda WAY TOO obvious.

i also can't believe they actually showed shi qiang's count down timer (the white shape on his chest) on the character silhouette.

wangwujing church on wang miao's poster represents when shiwang first start to bond. it's the scene that shi qiang remembers 200 years later in canon. project guzheng on shi qiang's poster is the last major event shiwang both participate in. it's something that won't exist without either of them (eg. shi qiang coming up with the "devilish" idea using wang miao's invention).

everything on their posters just refers back to something they experienced together. and if i ask someone who never watches the show to find two matching posters from the 9, it's gotta be these two.

i did keep the order of the posters as the weibo post, and here are the characters just in case (ding yi's background pattern refers to something in the dark forest):

- In his 20s, Cartman used to sneak out to bars and try to seduce men while crossdressing. He thought it was a secret, but Kyle, Stan and Kenny all knew, they just didn’t say anything but joked about it in private. (This was before he became homeless. He got kicked out of college.)

- Craig goes everywhere looking like he rolled out of bed. Like just throws on a hoodie that was on his floor and sweats.

- After post-covid, Stan ends up marrying Wendy, but the marriage ends in divorce.

- In middle school, Butters becomes a bit of a bully. After constantly being grounded throughout elementary school, be becomes rebellious and starts to hang out with Cartman more. However, when around Kenny, he feels as though he can be his true self. He was also veeeerrryyyy deep in the closet about his gender identity at this time, and tried very hard to project his masculinity as obnoxious as possible. Kenny was the only one who knew about Marjorine being trans and helped keep the secret for her up until high school. She started hrt and publicly came out her senior year.

- Tweek always wears mismatched socks.

- In high school, Butters got the courage to call cps for his parent’s abuse, after doing so being put into foster care. He was adopted by the Tweeks and became Tweak’s adopted brother/sister.

- Scott Tenorman lives in a mental hospital.

- Stan played with Crimson Dawn throughout middle school and high school. The band became kinda cultish within South Park. When they broke up before everyone went to college, Stan tried to start a solo career and got a couple gigs. He still plays with the former members occasionally, though.

- Stan smells like axe. Kyle thinks it’s disgusting.

- Kyle can’t go a day without showering. He also wears cologne a lot.

- Kyle is a neat freak (he has ocd.)

- Kyle hid his hair under his hat up until junior year, being heavily insecure about it. In college, he started to embrace his hair and let it grow out.

- Since dating Cartman, Heidi suffers from bulimia and anorexia, because she still sees herself as a clone of Cartman.

- Bebe is one of those girls who sprays bath and bodyworks warm vanilla sugar perfume all over the locker room.

- Tweek and Craig like to bond over movies and tv shows, like Adventure Time or Star Wars. Their current favorite is Steven Universe (Tweek’s favorite character is Peridot and Craig’s is Garnet <3)

- Cartman still sleeps with his stuffed animals/dolls, but denies it.

- Mars becomes a cheerleader.

- When watching a horror movie with friends, if Clyde knows there’s a jumpscare coming, he will leave the room and yell “Is it over yet?” when he wants to come back in.

- Kenny makes his money when living alone by being hired for kids birthday parties. He will go as either Mysterion or Princess Kenny.

- When Stan starts to question his sexuality during his preteen years, Wendy helps him out by telling him she’s omnisexual herself and introduces him to bisexuality.

- Red and Wendy date for two weeks in middle school.

- In middle school, Stan nearly drops all his friends again, hitting his lowest point with his mental health and alcoholism. He starts to recover in high school.

- Stan HATES weed. However, he still smokes it as a stress reliever despite himself, having been surrounded by it since 4th grade. Occasionally, he’ll smoke some with Kenny.

- Stan has ache, meanwhile Kyle has a perfect skincare routine.

- Craig, Clyde, Bebe, Heidi, and Wendy all have braces.

- Mars loves y2k, early 2000’s and Japanese Harajuku fashion.

- Kenny owns one of those stupid “virginity rocks” and “I ❤️ hot milfs” t-shirts.

- Nicole and Tolkien are married and Tweak and Craig are engaged.

- Stan is still jealous of Kyle and Tolkien’s tiktoks. In response, Kenny and Stan make their own tiktok account to rival them.

- Kenny’s phone is a hand-me-down iPhone 6 that is so cracked it’s a shock how it even still works.

- Wendy takes muay thai lessons.

- Kyle is a huge book worm, enjoying classic literature. Stan makes fun of him for it, thinking it’s boring.

- Stan carries tote bags everywhere.

- Stan loves motorcycles.

- Stan avoids red meat in his diet. He still eats chicken and fish, though, since he’s not a total pussy.

- Tweek likes musicals. Craig, on the other hand, thinks they’re silly.

- Stan is a fnaf kid.

- Kyle is a coffee addict. Not Tweek level ofc but he can’t go without it.

- Kyle is an insomniac.

- Kyle enjoys writing, specifically poetry. In middle school, he wrote a lot of cringey poems that he is embarrassed of, which his mother kept as keepsakes.

- Cartman writes yaoi fanfiction of Tweak and Craig that he hides under his bed.

- Kyle went through a “I’m not like other boys” phase in middle school. Years later, Kyle had to scribble out his old yearbook photos cuz he hated them so much. He had a pair of round glasses that he thought looked so good for about a year, then saw his photos and never wore them again.

- Butters started sneaking out in high school to go to Kenny’s house. Marjorine became a really good liar.

- Tweek likes physical touch but feels uncomfortable giving it or having it be displayed, while Craig hates being touched but loves getting into everyone’s personal space.

- Tweek is taller than Craig.

- Marjorine has a huge growth spurt in high school, making her the tallest out of the boys.

- Tweek has a huge fear of blood. If he gets something as minor as a scrape or a paper cut he will literally pass out.

- Stan and Kyle will stay up very late playing roblox together on school nights.

- Clyde is afraid of loud noises, specifically thunderstorms. He also has a fear of clowns.

- Clyde and Kyle both sleep with a nightlight.

- Kyle is a straight-A student. If he gets a B he will beg the teacher for extra credit to make it up. Stan’s grades are pretty average, mostly B’s with a couple A’s and like one C. Kenny has abysmal grades. Mostly F’s and D’s and one B. Cartman is mostly C’s and D’s with one F.

- One of Mars’ favorite hobbies is to go thrifting. She often goes with Kenny and they pick outfits out for each other.

- Mars and Kenny also like to bond over online games, specifically Hello Kitty Island Adventure (among other things like webkinz or animal jam)

- Mars and Kenny love singing karaoke together. They also like painting each others nails for fun.

- Mars and Kenny aren’t dating, just really close friends. A lot of people think they are due to their joke flirting (they both know it’s not serious but they think it’s funny. Sometimes they’ll do it just to confuse people.) Mars is dating Red and Kenny just sleeps around, but is open to a committed relationship(s), both monogamous or polyamorous.

-In college, Kenny worked at a tattoo shop. He gave himself his own piercings. He has a lot of them.

-Kenny likes wearing skirts and dresses occasionally. Not like Cartman does, but in a “fuck gender norms I can wear what I want” kind of way, being cis.

-Cartman used to talk to his plushies and believe that they were alive and had feelings (he watched toy story and totally thought it was real). He used to cram all his plushies onto his bed and sleep with them because he didn’t want them to be lonely.

-Cartman is very embarrassed about his genderfluidity, with lots of internalized homo/transphobia (if u asked him what his pronouns were, he’d probably say “I have a dick and balls, make of that what you will.” Otherwise, he’d go by he/she) If he found out that the other guys knew, he would die. - Wendy and Stan, since middle school, are constantly in an on-again-off-again relationship. Stan’s personal issues in middle school led him to treat Wendy horribly, even if he didn’t mean it. Heidi used to comfort Wendy about this, sharing her experiences, and they became close. In high school, as Wendy became more popular and Stan started to recover, he started to chase her while Wendy was colder. However, they hooked up occasionally and dated periodically. While Stan was getting better, he still lacked good communication skills, and in senior year, Wendy finally broke up with him for good. They rarely saw each other in college, but after that they reconnected and became friends. Read the first headcanon. - Kenny doesn’t give a fuck about his health because he knows he can just come back. He’s constantly living life on the edge and doing dangerous shit, but is always quick to protect anybody who he feels is at harm and would never try to drag them into anything crazy he does. - Kenny will get high off of anything. Anything. He doesn’t cheese anymore but he likes huffing and taking LSD. - Mars and Kyle enjoy writing.

CPN : random thoughts 🍬🍭

dumping some minor cpns that has popped up here and there for convenience. as usual, i need one space to ramble.

I also want to take this opportunity to applaud yibo-official for releasing that 1 hour + bts footage. They just went f*ck it and didn’t bother splicing it, they went ahead and dropped it on us out of nowhere. maybe one day they can post an hour long yibo vlog or photo set of yibo selfies. you know. just a suggestion. lol. The last post they made seemed like the final HB related content to share but apparently not. I am so thankful! This is best 3/14 gift!!!! I guess this is also a treat for “yibo movie fans” all over the world who continue to show their support for the overseas screenings.

1. Back in January, YBO posted for HB reaching 300 million in the box office and emphasis on the 3 ( zhan ). People have noticed that this scene looks like it was shot 10/5/2021 — ZZ’s birthday. What a coincidence that they chose this photo to be assigned to the number 3.

2. The way they dropped this big BTS content is reminding us of how the CQL 160 minutes bts was shared before. Is this them taking a page out of that? If there is something turtles are good at, it’s going through hours and hours of BTS footage! This is nothing to us!!! 😂😂😂😂

3. Also this was edited heavily, i can only imagine how many hours of footage they have. The selection of clips and what they can show. The music and it’s arrangement. going back to XZS being quiet — it’s a cpn that the two teams probably worked on this because the project is too big to accomplish by one group only. or maybe it needs a sign-off from the creative director xiao zhan. lol.

The important part of YBO’s post tho is their caption. Especially the part which said : Everything about Mr. Ye is dedicated to all fans of @UNIQ-王一博

I don’t know how many times I have said that Yibo is really making the necessary steps to make himself more mainstream. by that i mean, shedding the title of traffic star. the label itself isn’t all that bad tbh. lots of artists would kill to have the same traffic he does so they can have more endorsements and better scripts their way. however, i observed that he is transitioning to being an actor who hopefully will be loved by a lot of people and not just his core fans. The same goes for XZ, tho he is having a harder time staying away from being a traffic star and his own rice circle. I am in no way discrediting 🍤 or 🏍️, I just mean that the end game for the boys is to be a national celebrity. This transition leaves a lot of responsibility to existing fans like us, to be more welcoming to the new ones. This is why I get so mad when fans pay more attention to drama and fan wars cause it turns off potential supporters. It’s a huge red flag seeing a toxic fan group. I really hope one day, things do settle down and fans learn to be more chill.

Ren heads home after the mission with Max, not in the mood for anything. She had tried to push the memories of that fateful day four years ago out of her mind. She had attempted not to recall anything about the anniversary, but at the end of the day, when the work is done, she can't help but look back and remember the one who had been the love of her life, taken away from her because of her weakness. Ren's holo continues to ring after half an hour without answering; it's Sebastian, "Father." He took Ren in when she needed it the most. Always fond of having a daughter, despite being a priest on the surface, he was a true fixer, one of the best in Night City. When he saw Ren desolate in the orphanage, he decided to adopt her as his prodigal daughter, teaching her everything he knew, making her someone in this city, and protecting her more than anyone in Night City or Heywood.

"Tell me, Padre, I'm on my way home from a job," Ren replied, not in the mood to talk but afraid that if she didn't answer, Sebastian would come looking for her with concern. Tonight was meant for loneliness.

"Mija, I know it's a tough day, but answer your father's calls; he's worried. I know today is the day, let me remind you he was like a son to me too," he replied, raising his voice a bit. "I'm sorry, mija…" Sebastian sighed, knowing deep down that he couldn't protect the life of the one who was also like his son four years ago. "Four years have passed, and I still can't believe he's not here with us… I miss him, Saray, come home to see your family from time to time. You know every year we hold the mass for Hayden."

"I'm sorry, Padre, but I can't. I don't want people to see me and feel pity. Hayden wouldn't have wanted it that way. Every day, I fight to promise him that I won't go back to my old life if he's not here, that I'll work and continue my life… I'm sorry, but I have to hang up. I know you cared for him like a son, just like you do for me, but I need to grieve in my own way. Goodbye, Padre." Ren hung up without receiving a response from the other side of the holo.

Hayden had also been taken in by Sebastian, a bit older than Ren. Their paths separated as they took Hayden to another part of the city, to Japantown to work with Wakako Okada, another well-known fixer in Night City. As both became teenagers, their lives crossed again.

After years apart, Hayden returned to Heywood as a different man. Life in Japantown had changed him; he had experienced the harsh reality of the city, and his youthful ideals had evolved into a more cautious pragmatism. Ren, on the other hand, remained the fighter, the bold and determined bounty hunter he remembered from childhood. Initially, they clashed due to their opposing perspectives, engaging in heated discussions about their different visions for the city.

However, as they spent more time together, they began to see the deeper layers of each other's personalities. Hayden admired Ren's courage, her desire for justice in such a ruthless world. Ren, in turn, discovered in Hayden a man with emotional scars but with a unique understanding of the complexities of Night City.Despite their differences, they recognized each other's strength and the need to come together in a world where loyalty was scarce. And they fell in love, and they couldn't stop loving each other, for Ren, his first love, and for Hayden the love of her life, and he couldn't stop there, he wanted to make the bond of love sacred.

The 13th of November Night City, perpetually alive with the hum of neon lights and distant traffic, bore witness to yet another event that would leave an indelible mark on its ever-evolving history.

The air was heavy with anticipation, carrying the scent of urban decay and distant echoes of music from a nearby club. In a quiet alley of Heywood, tucked away from the glaring lights, Hayden, now a passionate advocate for change in Night City, was fervently discussing plans for community improvement with a group of like-minded individuals. Ren, stood by Hayden's side. The atmosphere was charged with the energy of hope—hope for a better city, hope for change. Hayden's charismatic words resonated with the gathered crowd, sparking a sense of purpose that transcended the daily struggles of Night City's inhabitants.

As the conversation reached a peak, a patrol car, its windows tinted with corruption, rolled into the alley. A lone officer, his uniform a stark contrast to the group's eclectic attire, stepped out. The atmosphere shifted—hope turned to tension, optimism to apprehension. The officer, a symbol of the oppressive system that Hayden had tirelessly fought against, approached with an air of authority. Words were exchanged, heated but not hostile. However, in the dimly lit alley, shadows concealed the officer's true intentions.

In a sudden, heart-wrenching twist of fate, the officer's hand moved to his sidearm. The gunshot echoed through the narrow space, and the once hopeful gathering descended into chaos. Hayden, struck by a bullet, fell to the ground. The vibrant vision of a better Night City shattered in an instant.

Ren, stunned and grief-stricken, knelt by Hayden's side. The officer, devoid of remorse, retreated into the night. The alley, once filled with dreams of change, now bore witness to a tragedy that would haunt Ren for years to come. As the distant sounds of Night City continued, indifferent to the pain within its streets, Ren cradled Hayden's lifeless form, grappling with the harsh reality that even in the pursuit of justice and progress, the city could still claim its victims.

And Ren couldn't shake the feeling of... guilt.

Author's note: in this chapter we don't see River, but I can promise that next chapter is going to be all over River and more, but I really wanted to write this chapter for you to see more in deep the story of Ren and to understand her point of view in the scene, and to understand references for future chapters. As always I hope you guys like it, and thank you so much for everyone that reads it, you're amazing. Y'all make me feel special.

So, just another snippet of Virgile/Eve fic, i really need to finish this chapter, but translation takes lot of time (i can't full write in english)

"You never asked me what's my job." He coughed several times under the glare of the other disdainful customers before catching his breath, avoiding her look. This must have made him suspicious in the eyes of the woman in front of him; he always looked like a child caught at fault when confronted with moments like this. Virgile remained silent and Evelyn resumed, resting her elbows on the table, not giving up. "Because you're not interested? Or you know and you don't want to talk about it?" More than red, he was turning crimson. His gaze was on the restaurant's décor, the sleek modern style, the chrome accents to underline the white walls where hideous gaudy pictures were hung to make it look like art … everywhere but on her. Unable to escape, trapped by his chair and his lunch, he finally took a breath, and whispered, "I already know". She didn't seem offended, quite the opposite. "Thanks to NetWatch or…?" He cut her off with a firm gesture, finally turning his gaze towards her. "I would never use my job to get information on someone. We're adults, we can… talk." He sighed, his leg trembling and his hands twisting as if he were telling a shameful secret. "Because I've been to Clouds before and met you there." He thought he'd never have this conversation, Evelyn talked little about her private life and he'd hoped she'd continue to do so without having to justify anything. His heart raced and his hand caressing the back of his neck betrayed his nervousness. For her part, she continued to smile, almost amused, then took on an air of conspiracy as she moved a little further forward. "And you're ashamed of something?" Her steady voice sought information, perhaps she was imagining what they might have done. Virgile had difficulty swallowing before answering, his gaze shifting. "I don't know," he replied. "Is it wrong to take advantage of someone's unconsciousness to get rid of problems?" "By get rid of your problems, do you mean … sex?" Virgile's face froze and he opened his eyes wide. With a sudden movement, he almost spilt his drink. "What? No! No ! " He saw her laugh as he tried to calm down. "I never wanted to… with a doll."

The comparison that anon made between Keke and CP triggered something inside me.

I'm sorry this is so long.

I pray i'm just projecting and that CP's just a silly birdie instead of the scenario my brain just put together.

When CP met JR, she was already in a dark place mentally. He then clearly consumed a large part of her life outside of work.

What if she wasn't working other projects after they met because she wasn't allowed to? Probably used some kind of possessive line about 'I don't want other ppl touching you' or 'I have money you don't need to work'. If she really doesn't have an agent now, was that her doing/choice? Or JR's.

We know he's verbally and emotionally abusive. I won't be surprised if he threw her traumas back in her face. We know he isn't above publicly embarrassing his partner to keep her in line. We know he treats the women in his life poorly. Wives, gfs, daughters and sisters probably even.

CP is now a shell of her former self.

He goes off to golf, and she sits quietly, probably in an empty room somewhere. He has his family around, and she goes into hiding. He flaunts his possible infidelity with his ex in CP's face. That's not the behavior of two people in an equal relationship. One person, him, appears to have all the power and all the say.

She no longer presents herself in the way she used to. When she was cast as Iris, she was a girl who only happened to be black. And she was still punished for it. This 90's baggy clothes/Jordans/long acrylics stereotype he keeps her in might be a way he tries to control her. Even going so far as telling her something like they didn't like you cause they could tell you're not really black or some bullshit like that.

She is isolated from her friends and family. That's always a huge red flag. She doesn't even have her dog with her. Why would she give up her dog? Didn't she tweet something like 'making enough money so zoe could have a backyard'? And then she just gave her dog away? Is she fine with that?

She barely speaks to her fans the way she used to (not that she needs to, but it is another indicator of being isolated). Her light has dimmed. That's already been discussed here. Everything she's been doing since they became a 'public' item has been out of character.

Maybe he banned her from going to the strike. Did she even acknowledge that it ended? Does she know? The first thing she did when she broke free from him some months ago was go to Cali and see her friends. To me, it looks like she keeps trying to escape. The only time she's outside, she's with him. Is he controlling where she goes and what she does?

He certainly had some influence over her public politics. The old her would've said something about Palestine from the jump. She has before.

She even did her interviews for the last season of Flash mostly over the phone. Why isn't anyone allowed to see her? She doesn't have to live in the spotlight, but sheesh.

Their breakups/separations are frequent, noisy, and ugly.

For all we know he probably makes her 'post something sexy' when they're apart cuz he 'misses her' or something. Another manipulation/control tactic.

It's like he keeps her in this constant state of embarrassment, hurt, frustration, and pain. Why can't you post your partner of how ever many years? Is he making her think he's embarrassed to be seen with her? Does he use the original backlash to them becoming public as a way to manipulate her? She was clearly hurt by it. Maybe he tells her he'll expose her and make more people hate her if she upsets him. His sisters are constantly trying to hurt and embarass her ontop of everything. They may even be in on the abuse. Is she banned from posting him?

I'm not looking to take her agency away or anything. I'm just saying that when it's put altogether, it looks a lot like abuse from the outside.

We see how he is publicly. What is he like privately?

Whatever the reality of that pairing is, I want her out of it.

We’ve had the same questions ourselves. It’s easy to become annoyed and dismissive when you see a beautiful woman choosing a toxic man, especially once he’s been publicly abusive in some way or the other and embarrassed her (much like most people were when Keke seemingly went back to that jackass and acted like everything was cool after the Usher incident) because you assume she knows better and wants better for herself. But when you look at Candice’s situation specifically it’s obvious that she went from one toxic situation to another and they’ve both wrecked havoc on her mental health. We think with The Flash at least she was still working and doing a job she loved, she at least still had a support system with JLM, Azie, Javicia, etc, and she had support of fans who would go out of their way to lift her up. Now, she has none of that. She’s isolated from her friends, at least physically (because even if she wouldn’t post when she saw them, they would), she rarely sees her family, she doesn’t interact with her fans anymore and she has no outlet with work. All she has is him who will turn on her on a dime, his family who clearly don’t like her and prefer his ex, his children who of course would be the same, his sister in laws who exclude her. It sounds like actual Hell.

Almost all of them are 18+, and if not the title will italic + bold. The only bold ones are 18+, and the choice to go on and read or not is depend on u. If they have trigger warnings, I’ll put it under the summary. READ it before u go into the manga, don’t complain later.

1. Don’t Get Me Wrong, Boss!

Lim Iro is a BL writer, and a pretty successful one at that! His last project was lavished with praise by everyone… Well, almost everyone. Under pressure from his unimpressed parents, Iro is forced into applying for a “real” job. But instead of a cover letter, he accidentally submits an unreleased extract from his book instead! Disaster! Or maybe not…? Faced with Iro’s unconventional application, Baek Ho-ryung, the dashing CEO of Beus drinks company, is intrigued. Review, it’s very cute and the boss is just funny as hell. Tho, I don’t know if he is red flag or a green one. I would say greenish red flag and the shou/mc is just fucking green flag. He’s so cute, I physically cannot.

2. Nirameba Koi

Apart from the fact he’s in the student council and has quite strange tastes, Shima is an average, low-profile, quiet high schooler. Therefore, he doesn't understand why Ryuunosuke, a sports student, always glares at him every time they cross paths. Shima doesn't want to draw the punk’s attention, but the instinctive hostility of Ryuunosuke towards him troubles him, and he wants to know why the other boy hates him…

Review, sunshine x grumpy troupe but expect this time the sunshine is the gong & grumpy is the shou. It’s so cute, & the story just solid 10/10 for me. I love this so much, and the gong is on another level of being a simp when someone glares tf at u but I unfortunately understand him. Ryuu-san is just the cutes AA.

3. Unmeiteki Lovemeter

Kai Shizuki is an ex-idol who is considered a prince at school, but he has a secret. He can see balloons above people's heads that give away their true emotions towards him. One day, while being chased by fans, Shizuki is unexpectedly saved by Shinozuka, the supposed bad boy. Even more surprising, Shinozuka's balloons are bigger and glossier than any Shizuki has ever seen before.

Review, IT. IS. SO. CUTE. If you need something to boost yourself after so much stress day, I would say, this is DEFINITELY the go to manga for that. Not much drama (imo) & not much angst, it’s just plain fluff. I am so in love with this CP. The gong is just so…. simp. He’s me fr.

4. Tonari No Usutsuki

While aware he’s attracted to the same sex, Takase has been living and lying because of his pride. One day, he gets to know Ito, who is always waiting for his male lover at a cafe. Takase, who was interested in how Ito always gave his true feelings to his lover, is strongly shaken by the unrelenting Ito whose tears are pure with the betrayal. However, even though he wishes to be more than friends, he can not say that he’s gay.

Review, I just love the green light gong and the second chance that shou get in love because so true baby bag that green flag who’ll slave for u.

5. Hoppe Ni Himawari

A story about a cute chubby guy in the gardening club who admires his classmate, the baseball team captain.

Review, this cures my depression, my gastric problems and my life problems. Thank you.
